One thing the city lacks which I love here is that food is fresh from the farm. Not difficult to get used to. Planting the crops is a bit of a pain, but it's totally worth it.

Grid Down

A blanket of snow on the ground (finally!) and the power has been out for about 12 hours.

On the 24th and 25th we had no power either.

Got a wood stove and candles, jugs of water, charged laptop (ha!) - got no problems.

After a hard few days of working in the garden, I thought it appropriate to enjoy a glass of wine on the front deck....my new favorite cozy spot.

I wish I was a little more glamorous. Just a little... My life is too rustic and full of wood chips and you know the other day we took moe to the vet and her doggy ass gland juice got on my new docs. That's like the least glamorous thing of all time. Sometimes I just want a reason to look really sexy. But it turns out those reasons are few and far between when you live in the woods on a frozen island.
