Her voice was enough to make the blood in his entire body chill to his bones; the boy letting out a silent breath that he didn’t realize he was actually holding. He had been on the run for a long while—trying to get away from her; she wasn’t the same. She would never be the same.

Old bruises on his skin that no longer existed seemed to ache; a phantom pain he would feel when around her. While he may not had visibly shown distress ( it helped that his back was turned to her ), Silvally could feel his trainers uneasiness, which made the Pokémon growl lowly towards the boys mother as they pressed themselves to Gladion’s side. A way to comfort. A way to protect.

Piercing gaze finally looked at her over his shoulder, a huff leaving him as his hand rested on Silvally’s body. Goddamnit, why did she have to be here?

“What the hell do you want?”

God, he hated being around her. He hated breathing the same air as her—he hated it, he hated it, he hated it. Every time he tried to leave she would guilt and rope him back in. He wanted to get away from her. He wanted to be free.

But she was his mother.

A sigh leaves through clenched teeth, arms wrapped around himself and nails digging into the sleeves of his sweater. Shoulders slump as he feels her lithe fingers comb through his hair.

He hated her. He hated her.
