adventure time's run began before SU and ended only a year before SU's did. for years all we got were tiny implications of marceline and bubblegum's relationship. after the rupphire wedding, AT's writers were able to write around it. never saying "my girlfriend." instead, "yknow this sentimental item with the long dark history we're all aware of? nothing in comparison to how pb feels abt marcy." but no "girlfriend" or "theyre dating" or anything straight-forward. nothing obvious.

and then finally at the finale we got a kiss. an honest to goodness kiss. that wouldnt have happened without the ruppire wedding. and the owl house writers wouldnt have had the freedom they had without rupphire and bubbline and countless industry professionals working to break down standards set over half a century ago by the code of ethics and censorship laws

Why is Stevencest, Pearlmethyst, and Rupphire problematic?

Steven is his own mother. That’s pedophilia and incest right there. Pearl is taller and more mature than amethyst so that’s pedophilia. Ruppire is a mutually abusive relationship because Sapphire can see into the future, which creates an unhealthy and abusive power imbalance, and Ruby is Mean And Gets Angry Sometimes so obviously that means she takes it out on Sapphire. Also they’re both short so that means they’re child coded and so people who ship it are pedophiles.
