Storia Di Musica #337 - The Fixx, Reach The Beach, 1983
Curnin e West-Oram suoneranno nelle canzoni I Might Have Been Queen e Better Be Good To Me nel disco di Tina Turner del 1984 Private Dancer.

🙆 for something i can't stop thinking about.
I keep thinking about how CUUUTE Louis must've looked babysitting his nephew when Lawrence was a baby/toddler 😭😭 we already know from GB2 that Louis is such a good babysitter and its obvious from the show that he has a big soft spot for his nephew so I'm sure he went above and beyond with everything when babysitting 🥲 and just imagining them like falling asleep on the couch together, or Louis trying to feed him in his highchair like AUGSHWHWHUSH it's TOO ADORABLE to handle

The War's Only War Criminal
Andersonville Prison in Sumter County ranks as one of America's greatest tragedies. Designed for 10,000 men, it was occupied up to 40,000, and 13,000 died of disease, malnutrition, and polluted water. For a while, the camp was terrorized by a group of prisoners called the Raiders, who stole food and killed any who dared oppose them. Those despicable men were arrested and tried by their fellow inmates. Six were executed, their graves separated from honorable soldiers.
The original commandant of Andersonville died before war's end, so his replacement, Henry Wirz, was held to account. A kangaroo court held in Washington, D.C., convicted Wirz of various crimes, and he was executed and buried in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
The tiny village of Andersonville sits not even a mile away from the Andersonville National Cemetery and prison site. Believing Wirz innocent of any crime, a substantial monument was raised there for his vindication. The Civil War's only war criminal is honored near the site of the horrors of Andersonville.
In the cemetery is the grave of the first prisoner to die at Andersonville, Adam Swarner, in grave 1. (His brother was buried in grave 4005.) R. Hanson was the last (12,807). The only decorated stone, bearing a peace dove, belongs to L. S. Tuttle (12, 196). Other Federals who died in Georgia were reburied here following the war, including John Rupert (13,696) and John Hines (13,697)-the last soldiers killed in the war. They were victims of friendly fire during the capture of Jefferson Davis at Irwinville.

Auf dem Papier ist es ein eklektischer Mischmasch aus alten Songs und neu geschriebenen Stücken: Mark Knopfler gab Tina „Private Dancer“, Terry Britten schrieb „What's Love Got To Do With It“ und „Show Some Respect“ (mit Sue Shifrin), Rupert Hine „I Might Have Been Queen“ Dazu „Let's Stay Together“, Ann Peebles' „I Can't Stand The Rain“, „Better Be Good To Me“ von Holly Knight und Mike Chapman, „Help!“ von den Beatles, „1984“ von David Bowie und „Steel Claw“ von dem irischen Songschreiber Paul Brady.

The Morality of a Paperboy
Tumblr media
I was thinking about Rupert Hine while listening to his theme for Savage Steve Holland's Better Off Dead, when my thoughts drifted to the movie itself.
And I only just realized that I had the star of the movie wrong because despite appearances to the contrary, it isn't Lane Meyer (John Cusack) but a character known only as 'Paperboy (who according to IMDB was played by two actors, Joey Tushnet and Sabastian Dungan)' because he understood that sometimes it's the principal that counts, represented by his dogged determination to get the $2 he was owed.
And sure, it likely cost more in terms of time and engineering to attach skis to a bicycle than it would have to forget about the money, but like I said, it's a matter of principal and sometimes you have to do what you have to do.
Thanks to 'Dragonlord 1958' for uploading the video to YouTube.
