so i watched drag race season 2 and i did not expect to like raven this much 🤯 like she is not afraid to say what she thinks, she is always real. she is not just a mean bitch though, the makeover challenge made me so emotional 💔 the way she treated that old man was so sweet. and her face always makes me gag, those are some serious makeup skills. honestly she was robbed a few times this season. yeah she is shady but i am living for it

Kept thinking about Muriel’s “hello hello hello” and I finally figured out what it reminds me of

heyyyyy- I'm a bad gay, and my lack of RuPaul's Drag Race is finally rearing it's head. do any of my mutual know anything about the show- It's for an OFMD gift fic. I just have a few questions that need answers. Specifically, for a makeover challenge. Questions down below~

1.) For makeover challenges, does the Queen already have the theme/have an outfit prepared for the makeover challenge, or does she need to figure out a makeup/wig/outfit for her and her guest in the (I'm guessing) 2 total days of the challenge (1 day for sewing/making the outfit, next day everyone gets in drag for competition)

2.) Is it common knowledge/commonly joked about among RPDR circles that Makeover challenges are essentially 'the judges choose who they don't want in the final 4' cause that's what it looks like from the outside. One queen goes home for not having 'family resemblance' but the only thing not matching is their shoes+wig. Vs. Another pair who are totally different, but still matching 'in universe' passes because they were at the top of the previous weeks challenges.

3.) Does the makeover-ed person also do a performance(ie singing, dancing, anything beyond walking the runway)

4.) If the queen chooses the makeover-ed person, or is it like, they submit a list and production grabs whoever is available. Cause I can imagine if its a..pool party challenge, they'd choose the Queen's mom from Florida who 'doesn't do makeup' vs the Queen's hot, young, accomplished boyfriend. You see what I mean?

5.) What does the make-overed person do while the queen is working on making the look? Are they allowed to help sew? Or do they just wander around practicing walking in heels?

6.) For MOST of the makeovers is scored more on- who had the largest transformation, or is it who revealed something hidden in the person they were transforming. (aka- the model obviously gaining more confidence once in drag, or someone shy who happily strutted down the runway, drag letting them try a new version of themselves)

[I've already done plenty of research about no contact outside of the show, that not even family/loved ones can get in contact with the Queens. That the shoots are over 12 hours long, that they record a runway with and without music etc]

So Queen of the Universe S2 has an Israeli queen participating and I just...

Besides the fact that she did serve in the IDF, I don't know shit about her and her stances, so I won't speak on her specifically.

However, her set aside for now, I truly want to ask the people at World of Wonder one thing...

What the fuck?

On Queen of the Universe, the queens are inevitably representatives of their countries so how did WoW ever consider this a good idea? They're basically giving an occupier apartheid state a global platform that will only play into Israel's already strong pinkwashing propaganda. Not helping themselves either with the captions like "From Israel with love" (yikes) on the promo video for Miss Sistrata and her Drag Race Wiki having "former soldier" (YIKES) noted in her bio which, as much as I see, has now been removed.

I just know they wouldn't let a Russian queen participate and that way represent Russia, so why is an Israeli queen ok? Is it perhaps because they take the war on Ukraine seriously cause it's on European ground, a k.a in their "western world"? Or cause they don't want to cut off ties with Israel so they can continue to profit off of the tours there? Or maybe they're Israel sympathisers? None of these options is the right option...
