You Haven't Updated In A While So Erm My Request Is Uh, What Are YOUR Disabled Headcanons?
OOOOHH THIS IS A GOOD ASK..
I’ll admit, I have like 4 asks in my queue which I still haven’t touched (sorry about that) but that’s what happens when you’re burnt out or busy..
BUT! I have actually posted a few of my own headcanons to my page (using anon asks, and I’m not afraid to admit that) such as the headcanons for The POSTAL Dude [link] and The Narrator [link] !!!
And fun trivia, my very first ask, for Basil [link] was made by one of my irl friends, regarding a headcanon we’ve mutually agreed on for a very long time!
I’m sure if I remember any more I’ll post them though :3

Lost Running With Scissors Games
Hey, girlie, don't mind me sliding into your Tumblr. Just here to share some interesting lost media with you.
Now if you follow me or lurk around on my blog, the chances of you being a fellow Postal enjoyer are high. Can't blame you, it's a good games series that I'm most definitely normal about. Yup, very normal about this game. But I'm not here to talk about Postal (for once in my life). I'm actually here to share some lost Running With Scissors media with you.
Yep, RWS has some lost media. I was looking around the Lost Media Wiki to see if Postal had any lost media and found this. It's called Guardian and Flesh & Wire, cancelled shooters that were developed by Running with Scissors and would've been published by Ripcord Games. For those who may not know, Ripcord Games published the first Postal game.
Tumblr media
(Here's the logo for Flesh & Wire. There hasn't been one found for Guardian at the moment)
Due to how controversial Postal was, Ripcord had told RWS that if they wanted to continue working together, they would need to ditch the idea of making a Postal sequel and make a new IP. Since Ripcord owned the license of Postal at the time, RWS weren't able to break off and make a sequel. There were two games proposed but got rejected
We're gonna follow the wiki and start with Guardian. I'm gonna put direct quotes for what the gameplay/story is about.
"The story would revolve around Rakk, a fighter who joins the Umbreks to stop the Nullids who are about to "have earthlings for breakfast." According to the lore, the Umbreks were oppressed by the technology advanced Nullids and killing and indigenous species became a real taboo for them. It's unknown if the developers planned to implement this in the game. If true, it's possible that, Unlike Postal, killing them would punish the player. You would've started off with a core set of moves including a traditional Umbrek weapon called an Arraka, As the game goes on, you acquire new skills through genetic assimilation, a process consisting of the ability for Umbreks to absorb the minds of the Nullids. The absorbed skills would simply disappear after a certain time. Excessive use could cause the protagonist's mind to change for the rest of the game."
Guardian was announced at E3 1998. It was meant to be RWS second title.
According to Vince Desi, the game was to use motion capture and was all about "flesh and wire". It was originally a third-person shooter that was to use 3D characters and real life background that were digitized, and multiple camera angles, dynamic lighting, and special effects. It was planned to be released on PC in 1999 and have a DVD version that would have better graphics.
Now for Flesh & Wire. Again, I'll be quoting the Lost Media Wiki for the gameplay/story.
"Unlike, Guardian, Flesh & Wire would've centered around a sleazy cop name Angus. One morning, he woke up to see his city being engulfed by a bio-ship named Nulloid. Not only that, but he also found a blob-like creature devouring his legs. Rather than calling a doctor, he came to the realization the he could control the blob and use it for good. From there on, you would've moved around levels, utilizing special abilities and solved puzzles, such as creating either a ladder to reach high places, a bungee to get down or even a shield to protect yourself from enemies. It bears many similarities to the 1989's A Boy and His Blob: Trouble on Blobolonia, a game developed by Imagineering for the NES. Unlike that game however, Flesh & Wire was a far-less family friendly and featured grotesque monster designs. You could carry weapons such as a gatling cannon, an electric gun and poison gas, to which you could even combine to make even more powerful weapons. The game would also encourage players to collect as much material as possible to increase the amoeba's size and speed, and would even lose some of its mass the more the player moves."
The animation for Flesh & Wire would be done in rotoscoping live martial arts students. The movements would be recorded on synchronized digital cameras set at 90 degrees apart from each other. They were to be digitized and loaded onto Softimage 3D, an animation software, and to be used as reference for the animators to use. Randy Briley, the studio's art team leader, came up with the idea pf building the levels of the games using miniature layout, using scraps of PVC pipes, copper tubing, old VCRs, and other items that were glued and painted. This was done to save money and resources. The results were successful.
The game was announced in March 1999. It would've been RWS' first game released on console
That same year, Panasonic Interactive Media, Ripcord's parent company, announced their closure. The senior management team at Panasonic made a deal to acquire Ripcord and make it an independent company. RWS announced that they would still continue working on Flesh & Wire on their own and that they'd support Ripcord's new team. But then Ripcord drooped their support for Flesh & Wire. RWS had spent $1.5 million into Flesh & Wire and had planned to released it in the next year, but they were unable to find any publishers that would support the project which had ultimately led to the cancellation of Flesh & Wire.
Here's some of the concept art from the Wiki. Both these games would've been really cool to see. It's sad that they weren't able to come to fruition though. Hopefully, we can find more out about these games.

I'm sorry these pics are blurry, I took these all from the wiki and that's how they were. And to be honest, F&W concept art gives me big Postal vibes. I don't mind though. I enjoy it. And here's a link to the Lost Media Wiki article.

Hey! I know we don't talk but we do reblog each other's posts so I'm comfortable with asking you these two questions (if you don't mind ofc)😚
Do you think Killua is regretful of killing people? Also do you think he took innocent lives?
Do you think Gon won't look at cats the same due to his altercation (obliteration) with Pitou?
Thanks!!! keep doing what you do you're incredible 💞💞💞 I love your work seriously
Hey!
Omg no, I don’t mind at all! I love talking about hxh :)
I actually thought about these questions for awhile and I’m not sure, but this is how I interpret everything:
We know Killua runs away from his family partly because he’s tired of killing, and despite seeing him murder with ease during the Hunter Exam, by the time he reaches Heaven’s Arena, he’s actively making an effort not to kill (despite being angry with Sadaso, Riehlvelt and Gido) and he remarks that “not killing people is hard,” so I think on some level he’s trying to change and be less like his family (and also a better person and friend to Gon?). We don’t get to see a ton of his regret, or if he even has any, since he’s pretty much on the go nonstop from the time he meets Gon until the end of the series when he leaves with Alluka. I have a feeling that he’ll have more time to reflect on things when he’s travelling with Alluka and not saving the world from ants, so maybe that would be the time where regret settles in a little more. As things are, Killua has put in a lot of work and grown so much over his journey, and maybe some of that comes from wanting to atone for his past (even if it wasn’t his fault). He frames Gon as light and himself as dark, so on some level he still sees himself that way imo
In terms of innocent lives, I’m inclined to say nooooo (kinda). 2 reasons:
1. In 1999 hxh Killua has a conversation with Anita about her father, and says that if the Zoldycks were hired to kill someone, they likely did something to deserve it (which is a fucked up thing to say, buuuuut it’s an interesting point). The best assassins in the world were probably not carrying out hits on nice little old ladies just going about their business.
2. Zeno’s reaction to Komugi in the CAA. He’s genuinely upset by the idea of killing someone who wasn’t a target, and the Zoldycks seem to have their own dubious moral code, so I can see it being a point of pride, professionalism, and maybe skewed ethics to be able to take out your target without anyone else being swept up in the crossfire. This reason is a little weaker though, since Illumi kind of throws that out the window with his needle people.
As for Gon and cats, I actually think he’d be okay with them. He’s pretty good at separating individuals and treating them based on his personal experience with them, so I don’t see him having that with regular non murder-ant cats. Gon tends to base his judgements on his own relationship with each person regardless of their actions toward others (unless it’s someone he cares about), which is where we get a lot of the fandom jokes with him being Very Okay with murder in a lot of cases. He doesn’t bat an eye at Killua’s past, and spares the scissor guy on Greed Island (I forget his name. The one who cut Bisky’s hair) because despite trying to kill Gon, Killua, and Bisky, in Gon’s mind, this guy taught him and Killua valuable new skills and helped them train, so he’s grateful to him, vs the Phantom Troupe, who he is furious with.
This is a long winded way of saying I think he’d be able to draw a distinction between cats and Pitou. (I do think he’d have nightmares about Pitou though, and about not being able to save Kite and hurting Killua)
Sorry, this turned into an essay, but I hope it made sense!
Thank you so much for reading my stuff, it means a lot! (Also I love your blog 💕)

Ashley Brown: Hogwarts AU
Tumblr media
Ashley Brown is a Muggleborn witch that was born in 1988 and started attending Hogwarts on the 1st of September 1999, being sorted into Ravenclaw House.
She has a Willow wand with a Unicorn Hair core.
Her Patronus is non-corporeal.
Her favorite subject is History of Magic and her least favorite subject is Defense Against the Dark Arts.
Ashley is a smart cookie. She's often found in the library, studying away with her nose in a book. However, her overactive imagination means that she's jumpier than a paranoid kangaroo. She's not a fan of anything scary.
After spending a lot of time with her study-partner Chris, Ashley wonders if he's interested in her as more than just a friend, but she soon snaps out of it - Chris would never ask her out anyway.
Ashley is described by her classmates as academic, inquisitive, sensitive, and forthright. She loves books, dislikes horror movies and dreams of being an author.
Ashley generally seems to be friendly and eager to be in the company of others. However, after what happened in her fourth year, she's uncomfortable about being back at Hogwarts. Her attendance and actions throughout her three final years at school are partially motivated by her strong feelings toward Chris, whom she has an unexpressed crush on. She is shown to be very observant as, when she finds clues, she's able to recognize their greater significance. However, she does have a tendency to let her imagination run away with her; while Chris is incredulous, Ashley is quick to believe in an apparent monster she sees and also misunderstands the magnitude of Emily’s scratch wound. Compared with some of her more loose and laid-back friends, Ashley is rather polite, serious, and even a little hesitant; she doesn't use profanity often like other group members and tends to follow the decisions of others.
According to the mind healer Mr. Hill, Ashley's greatest fear is the dark, so when she returns to the shadowy castle of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, she's immediately more frightened than most of the others in the group. Her tendency to be meek and timid outlines her lack of self-confidence, and as the years progresses she becomes increasingly distressed and scared by the life-threatening and seemingly supernatural events taking place around her. As such, she at times displays reluctance in looking for Sam when the latter goes missing, though Chris can usually convince her to continue and even show courage in the face of a potential threat. Still, when in actual danger, Ashley is not as quick on her feet as Mike or Emily. This is shown when she manages to stab the Psycho in the shoulder with a pair of scissors, but then fails to either follow up on this attack or escape.

First time listening to the final boss of all metal bands: Slipknot
Welp, I just recently listened to Slipknot's self titled debut, then Iowa, and now Subliminal Verses.
I'm officially a maggot (Slipknot fan) now.
But in all seriousness, I listened to Slipknot's self titled debut and it's crazy how the entire album is a monster of a debut that's so so so so good from beginning to end. The rapid speed drumming and snares carry the music (RIP Joey Jordison), the bass gives the music color (RIP Paul Gray), and Corey Taylor as a frontman is something else--the way he switches from doing the most terrifying snarls and growls + vicious screams I've ever heard to singing like an angel to rapping and spitting rapid fire bars, sometimes all in the same song, is absolutely unreal, and you can literally feel the palpably raw, visceral and unbridled fiery rage, intensity and blood, dirt, mud and grime type energy bleeding through the music, the vocals, the drums, the guitars, the bass, the growls, the production, etc. All of it is something that quite frankly was very ahead of its time during the time this was released (1999!!). Slipknot walked so Sleep Token could run. (And Sleep Token is a phenomenal band with amazing music on its own!)
As for Iowa, that was definitely Slipknot's darkest, angriest, eeriest, heaviest, creepiest and most oppressive and unsettling record they've done. Heck, the intro was creepy from the get go--and to think that this was their sophomore record!
Then Subliminal Verses is something to behold--that palpably raw and visceral anger, intensity and energy is still very much there, but what stands out more on this album is Slipknot's noticable maturity in sound and in mood in balancing out the grit with more moments of gentleness and emotion, and wading more into melodic ballad territory and the results are stunningly beautiful, even haunting (Vermillion, Part 2 and Danger = Keep Away stand out as examples).
Meanwhile it's difficult for me to pick which song is my favorite off of the debut cause literally every single song is top notch and Iowa, as dark as it is, has highlights too, as well as Subliminal Verses. But I'll list a few songs: (sic), Me Inside, Gently, Scissors, I Am Hated, Eyeless, Metabolic, Surfacing, Everything Ends, My Plague, Tattered and Torn, Pulse of the Maggots, Skin Ticket, Vermillion Part 1 and Vermillion Part 2, Duality, Prosthetics, etc.
In conclusion, Slipknot is iconic, they're your favorite metal band's favorite metal band, and I'm officially a maggot now. Maggots unite!

My thoughts on Pitchfork's 150 best albums of the 1990s; #30-#21
There are three completely subjective criteria. 1: do I like the album, yes or no? (Basically, is this for me?) 2: Would I recommend it to anyone, yes or no? (is this for anyone else?) and 3: Is it better than STPs "Core"? (The lowest bar. Few things are better than "Purple," but Core should absolutely be in the top 150, so that's the bar.)
30: Mos Def: Black on Both Sides (1999). I don't know much, but I know he's one of the Greats. Not everything has aged well, but it's good.
Like it: yes. Recommend: yes. Better than "Core": yes.
29: Pavement: Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain (1994). I don't know, folks. I don't think it's good, but I tapped my foot a few times. And the people who make Pavement a huge part of their personality will probably be more appalled at the idea that I was medium than they would be if I just hated it.
Like it: no. Recommend: no. Better than "Core": no.
28: Björk: Post (1995). Björk is great. This album is proof. Legend has it that when the current Björk retires or boards the ships for the West or whatever, the fair folk will hold a council to elect a new Björk. There must always be Björk.
Like it: yes. Recommend: yes. Better than "Core": yes.
27: Public Enemy: Fear of a Black Planet (1990). It was fine. Very listenable. I can't speak to how important it was at the time fully. But It holds the hell up.
Like it: yes. Recommend: no. Better than "Core": Yes.
26: Boards of Canada: Music Has the Right to Children (1998). This was fine. It wasn't as good as the Great electronic/psychadelic artists of earlier eras. Or as good as Aphex Twin. Or as good as Nine Inch Nails. I guess it's more...accessible? Is that why it's this high?
Like it: sure. Recommend: maybe. Better than "Core": no.
25: Belle and Sebastian: If You’re Feeling Sinister (1996). If you draw a straight line from The Kinks to Alexi Murdoch, this album is on that line. It's not bad, and it's even pleasant. Is it GREAT, though? Not in my opinion. And I've been listening to human music since before the 1990s.
Also, it occurs to me that another possible standard against which I can grade is Weird Al. There's no Weird Al on this list, and he had four banger albums come out in the 1990s: Off the Deep End, Alapalooza, Bad Hair Day, and Running with Scissors.
Why am I talking about Al when I'm supposed to be waxing philosophical about Belle & Sebastian? Because if this list isn't going to put Al in the rarefied air of the Top 25 THEN I WILL.
Like it: yes. Recommend: no. Better than "Core": no way.
24: Dr. Dre: The Chronic (1992). There was no album that sounded like this before this. And not really anything like this after this. Which is not necessarily good, but I get why it's venerated. That being said, the various lyricists featured...say a lot of things that...we're not saying anymore? Like, we decided as a culture to talk about these things in new ways that were less misogynistic? So...I'd say it's both immortal, and hasn't aged well.
Like a lich. This album is a lich. And I guess there's a place for a lich in any prosperous musical ecosystem...
Like it: no. Recommend: no. Better than "Core": yes.
23: Elliott Smith: Either/Or (1997). *sigh* I don't know. I feel like I tried. I tried to be open. But it's nothing. This album, this artist, this whole world of raspy melodies about the way I wish things were...doesn't work.
Like it: no. Recommend: no. Better than "Core": no.
22: Nas: Illmatic (1994). Maybe this whole endeavor was a mistake. I can't speak to these things. I know nothing. This album was good.
Like it: yes. Recommend: sure. Better than "Core": yes.
21: Silver Jews: American Water (1998). I was not surprised, halfway through listening to thi album, to discover that it is Pavement-adjacent (sharing a couple of members.) I was not surprised, because it has that certain "I can tell without discussing it with anyone, that it is overrated. Beloved by certain musicheads." It's not good. It's like if Modest Mouse listened to way too much Jesus & Mary Chain. Doesn't belong this high. Probably shouldn't be in the top 100. Pressing on.
Like it: not really. Recommend: no. Better than "Core": no.
