I've had more than one anarchist I associate with be surprised to learn I'm actually not an anarchist. But like. I'm a huge proponent of the Welfare State, and you kind of need a state for that
#welfare#welfare state#food stamps#Medicaid#medicare for all#universal healthcare#ubi#ssi#if a government isn't going to take care of its people then the government has no use to the people at all#so like I'm down for dismantling a system that only exists to rule and oppress and watch us die#and i don't mean 'fascists are okay if they make the trains run on time' type shit bc I'm staunchly antifascist#but like i do think a government can take care of even the most vulnerable of its populace if it really wants to. it just doesn't want to#undesirables who can't turn the cogs of capitalism are to be disposed of in most governments. esp the United States via#passive eugenics#anyway#revolution or not if the medical infrastructure goes down for any reason then me and a fuckton of other undesirables are dead#also this next statement is less towards anarchists specifically and more for like utopic commune people but anyway#if your utopia is based on 'work to live/earn your place' you are not a leftist you are a capitalist with a woke vocabulary#and i hate you

CHECK!#marinetti was my favorite part of lempicka because he was funny and provided tension... kind of... with tamara... sort of#idk that was a bit of a mess tbh#they were on the same page but then they weren't?#and then he was a fascist? but he liked her sexy lesbian nudes?#anyway WHATEVER#point is#i like a mischevious puckish narrator guy providing jokes and asides as well as framing the narrative#and then of course the classic example would be Che in Evita#is there actually a throughline here?#I DONT KNOW!#it feels like there is....#also two out of three of the guys are italian...#so....#italianism is a theme.....

#james talks#riverdale#miss the whole crew really but Betty especially bc Lili was so magnificent#god as perfect as the finale was (and it really was one of the greatest finales ever) i wish we had gotten another season#they had as good a run as a show on that network could hope for but there are few shows on there that eclipsed the network like Riverdale#like the list includes like. Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and Gossip Girl. and ig The Vampire Diaries. and that's it.#(that list is for shows almost exclusively produced by the CW. CXG DID have other producing companies but it was largely the CW).#no show will ever quite be like Riverdale ever again and no show will ever reach the heights it did.#especially not on their shoestring CW budget.#like honestly i just need more Riverdale in my life.#like RAS and the writing team found such a great way to turn their weaknesses into strengths.#as an article on the show once said [paraphrased]: it was a great show that was really good at pretending to be bad.#even now nobody gets the show like i do.#everyone thinks it's some silly little show about crazy shit with crazy plotlines and pretty lighting and aesthetics but no substance—#when in reality it's an incredible pulpy anti-fascist text questioning the role of authority using those aesthetics for a larger purpose#but i'll save the real analysis for whenever i get around to actually making the Riverdale video essay i need in my life#unless Quinton Reviews or SuperEyepatchWolf beat me to it first. they're the only people who i think will actually understand the show.#like SuperEyepatchWolf's video on the show is already pretty fun even if it's a little dismissive of the substance of the show—#(tbf to him it only covered up until the S05 mid-season finale and S06 hadn't released yet)#but like he at least feels like he gets the spirit of the show. especially with the wrestling comparison.#and i hope i don't need to explain why Quinton would get it.#anyway. i need the Riverdale crew back.

When the Krakoa era started, I predicted that it would end with a deus ex machina type plot device where the whole thing was reset, and I can't wait for it to just happen already, because nearly everything about it sucks.

Baby girl you can't even get a majority of third party/independents in a single state legislature. In the past 30 years there have been seven independent/third party state governors, and of those, only three were genuinely independent. The rest either got elected as a R/D and switched mid-term when they alienated themselves from their state party, got elected as I and then switched to R/D during their terms (with some of them having served the R/D parties before), or served as proxy candidates with heavy backing and support from one of the major two parties. Even VERMONT, a relative stronghold for independent/third party candidates -- the place that brought you Bernie Sanders -- doesn't have a majority of third party candidates. And when I call them a stronghold, I mean they are the only state (I know of) that consistently elects (less than a handful of) Independent candidates to the state legislature; the place is still dominated by Ds and Rs.
