Welcome to Torchlight, a little indie gem from 2009, published by Runic Games. What some may consider a Diablo clone is in fact Diablo’s cousin designed by Travis Baldree, Max Schaefer and Erich Schaefer (co-designers of Diablo and Diablo II).

Got the demo on switch for this SUPER cute game that’s got puzzles & combat & a very generous saving/checkpoint system and a cool world and GORGEOUS art direction and??? How do i give them more money than the money they are asking for the full game… :’D I think I’ll pick it up today. I only struggled with one part bc I didn’t realize what the control prompts were trying to tell me… like it’s SO cute…

Torchlight

Torchlight was not good. The atmosphere was lacking, the quests were rote and repetitive (at least give me *one* floor with a unique quest), the characters were practically non-existent, and it was just constantly giving me loot I could not use. The ending was not enjoyable. We all must have been very desperate for a Diablolike to play this.
