Delicious in Deltarune AU ramble !! Long post !!!!
(Ft Chimaera Hippogriff Dess doodles done in whiteboard)
Noelle, Kris and Susie end up retreating after getting to a lower level of the dark dungeon and encountering a darkner creature too difficult for them. They get separated from Dess, whom to their knowledge was severely injured before they got teleported by Noelle to the surface. After they recuperate and go on their way down again, they encounter Ralsei and Lancer, who join their party and help them along their journey.
Instead of monsters in the dungeon, it's darkners. Characters aren't specifically placed into dunmeshi character roles, but more so put into the world of dunmeshi. Deltarune's world and rules get adapted/intertwined with dunmeshi's. More info under the cut!
Kris - the leader. human knight with significant knowledge on darkners, can't use magic very well. Came from a family of royals. Their brother Asriel is a renowned knight.
Noelle - deer mage, specializing in healing + ice magic, beginning to get the hand of offensive magic. Comes from a rich family and went to magic school with Kris and Dess.
Susie - the party's tank, and 2nd magic user; a well known reptilian fighter among adventurers. Came from a poor family that she has since left behind.
Dess - the party's former leader, a deer mage with expertise in fire/light magic, but she can't use healing magic very well.
Ralsei - a royal mage with healing magic, main cook for the party. He's secretive about his past
Lancer - a runaway prince; he scouts out the environment/landscape for the party
Other characters/misc
Sans and Papyrus are searching for their missing sorcerer relative, who went mysteriously missing along with his party of 4
Berdly reluctantly joins mage Catti and fighter Jockington's party of two after realizing he can't venture through the dungeon alone. They don't want to admit that he's slowing them down however. When Kris' party find them, they’re facing off Queen and her minions.
I'm thinking some of the 'monsters' Kris' party could encounter would be different darkner bosses (I really wanna make them face off beast Spamton)
The layout/floors of the dungeon could be based on different dark worlds ??
Still figuring that out along with the dungeon's legend/prophecy (rn I'm thinking it involves a bit of the monster and human in the opening of undertale and a bit of the delta rune prophecy)
Here's the Dess doodles and also sorcerer Gaster. The caption above him was added by a friend lol
ID: Sketchy drawing of Dess as a hippogriff chimera. She has big antlers and long wavy dark hair. Below her neck, it transitions into a huge feathery body, with chicken-like front legs and taloned feet, and her hind legs and body resembling a deer's. She has huge feathered wings and a spotted tail. There is purple glint in her eyes. End ID
ID: Chimera Dess from a side profile view. She has her jaw unhinged, and reaches out with a clawed hand. The purple glint in her eye has grown. Surrounding her are other drawings other people have made on the whiteboard. End ID
ID: Chimera Dess from a partial front view, looking ominously below at something. End ID
ID: Gaster wearing a button up, dark colored vest and pants, a purple cloak with a determination star clasp, and iron boots and gauntlets with the determination star engraved on. He is looking to his left with tired eyes; his arms are at his sides, with his hands balled into fists. He has fangs, and short wavy hair made out of fire. Above him is all caps text that reads “I have always believed it to be morally sound to hit people with hammers“. End ID

deltarune recreated darkner classes from highest to lowest.
GUARDIAN DARKNERS.
guardian darkners are the strongest class of darkners. a guardian darkner is a darkner who rules a dark world and anyone with their blood. these go for rosey, ralsei, king, color king, lancer, scratch, champion, and empress jade.
SPIRIT ANIMAL DARKNERS.
spirit animal darkners are the second most powerful darkner class and are the only class that normal delta rune doesn't have. not only do they have the ability to turn into their spirit animals, but they also have the ability to enter and control dreams. the only darkner that falls into this class is a darkner named hunter and his spirit animal is a wasp, but more will come soon. Liked
GENERAL DARKNERS.
general darkners are the 3rd strongest class of darkner. they are darkners who are second in command of the guardian darkner. these darkners include roulx kaard, general pyro, doctor control, and mr five star.
CHAOS ENTITIES.
chaos entities aren't the strongest darkners but are the most dangerous. they are darkners who broke into insanity and usually wish for a lightner soul to save them. these darkners include jevil, spamton, collector, hackmaster, and agatha. the sad thing about chaos entities is that most of the times whatever happens to them is irriversable or even worse, the become irredeemable monsters. collector is sadly an example.
CIVILIZED DARKNERS.
civilized darkners are as they seem. their darkners that are civilized. these include certain enemies and shopkeepers.
WILD DARKNERS.
wild darkners are the lowest and weakest class of darkners. they are opposite of civilized darkners. their wild like animals. most wild darkners are enemies. k round falls into this class.

FOLLOW THE RULES [CHAPTER TWO]
Ralsei and Lancer
"Sure." You said.
Susie groaned, but decided to stay because she knew she wouldn't get anywhere unless the hooded guy in front of you two gave her directions.
"Very well then.."
"Once upon a time, a legend was whispered among shadows.
It was a legend of hopes
Of dreams
It was a legend of light
And of dark.
This is the legend of Delta Rune.
For millenia, light and dark have lived in balance.
Bringing peace to the world.
But if this harmony were to shatter...
A terrible calamity would occur.
The sky will run black with terror
And the land will crack with fear.
Then, her heart pounding, the earth will draw her final breath.
Only then, shining with hope
Shall appear three heroes at the world's edge.
A human, a monster, and a prince of the darkness.
Only they can seal the fountains and banish the angel's heaven.
Only then will balance be restored and the world will be saved from destruction.
Today, the fountain of darkness is a geyser that gives this land it's form.
It stands tall at the center of the kingdom.
But recently, another fountain has appeared on the horizon.
And with it, the balance of light and dark begins to shift."
"(Y/n). Susie." The hooded figure said. "Thank you for listening to my long tale."
"I truly believe you two are the heroes in the legend. That despite whatever enemies you may face, you two have the courage and strength to save the world."
"Please, Delta Warriors, won't you accept your destiny?"
You were about to say something but Susie beat you to it.
"Nah." She said.
"W-What?"
"Listen Dude." Susie said. "I'm not a hero or a warrior or whatever the fuck you think I am. I'm just here for a piece of chalk."
"But Susie...without you the world will-"
"I know, I heard you. Death and destruction and shit. I don't really care. I'm getting out of here." She said turning around.
"Susie-" You started to say, but you were cut off when someone riding a tricycle ran into the hooded guy.
"Ho ho ho! The heroes are already running away! And they didn't even know I was here, my dad's gonna make me son of the month!"
"Who the hell are you?" Susie said.
"I'm...the bad guy!" The little spade themed guy asked.
"You CLOWNS want to seal our dark fountain huh?! And save the world from eternal darkness?!"
"Not really." Susie muttered.
"Don't deny it! We both know that going to east towards the fountain is your only way out!"
"East huh?" Susie smiled and she turned her back.
"Where do you think you're going?!" The little spade guy yelled as a box formed around you three.
"If you want to leave, you're going to have to fight me, Lancer, first!"
"Oh yeah?" Susie said, growling. "I'll rip you to pieces."
Suddenly, you held a sword in your hand and Susie had a flaming ax.
Lancer was on the other end with one of his tricycle tires on fire.
In front of you were five orange boxes.
Fight, Act, Item, Spare, and Defend.
Susie had those boxes too.
"Are we in some sort of game?!" Susie asked confused.
"I don't know!" You said.
"Oh well! I know what I'm going to do!" Susie growled, bashing her fist into the fight button.
You had no idea what was happening, so you chose to defend.
You grabbed a shield off the floor and held it in front of you.
Susie attacked Lancer.
Then he responded to the attack and tried to run both over.
This repeated about four more times, before Lancer got hungry and left.
"Are both okay?" The hooded figure asked.
"I guess." Susie said. "Alright, I'm out of here."
Susie then put her ax over her back and walked away.
"She's probably going east." The hooded figure said.
"Oh! Let me introduce myself."
He lowered his hood and smiled at you.
"My name is Ralsei." He said, and he turned out to be a cute little goat monster.
"If you accept your destiny, I will happily accompany you on your journey."
You smiled and shrugged.
"It's my way out right? I'll help."
"Wonderful!" Ralsei said. "I'll show you where to go."
(Hope you enjoyed. Stay tuned for more and have a good day.)

The Grand Fountain: It's Weird
There's something up with the Grand Fountain and the Legend of DELTA RUNE. (I have some idea what, but no idea why. This is not a theory post, in which I lay out a few puzzle pieces and fit them together. This is a post in which I gesture helplessly at several puzzle pieces that I don't know how to fit together.)
(The "Grand Fountain" is, as Ralsei says above, the Dark Fountain of Castle Town's Dark World.) "For millenia (sic), LIGHT and DARK have lived in balance, Bringing peace to the WORLD." [...] "But recently, another fountain has appeared on the horizon… And with it, the balance of LIGHT and DARK begins to shift…" The legend does not explicitly rule out the possibility that there is some danger caused by the number of Dark Fountains being too low. Hometown's school is probably decades old, certainly not millennia. But this is merely speculation. I had to change the title of this post from "The Grand Fountain Contradiction" because I realized that there wasn't an actual contradiction there. But there still is something weird.
How long have you been waiting, Ralsei? (Also, how did you even learn the Legend of DELTA RUNE? "Whispered among shadows", what does that mean?) "Today, the FOUNTAIN OF DARKNESS- The geyser that gives this land form- Stands tall at the center of the kingdom." How long? "Today" See.. the supply closet isn't locked. The school has two teachers, Toriel and Alphys. (Possibly three, depending on what's behind the door to the left of the door to the supply closet.. but I digress.) You'd expect that they'd need to get things from the supply closet fairly often. In other words, the Grand Fountain must have been created fairly recently. (Also, why is it a pure fountain while the other ones aren't? Is there something special about it, or is there some kind of trick to making a pure fountain? Or is there no such thing as a "pure fountain", and it's just that any object "belongs in" a supply closet?) And, speaking of which.. who made it? Unless the Knight has some absurdly elaborate plan going, it probably wasn't them, because Ralsei seems to have been specifically designed for the sake of helping Kris and Susie stop the Roaring. (source: pretty much everything about him) Could it have been Kris? Well, they do seem to have a plan to make the most of their time without the red soul.. maybe?? If it wasn't one of the above, then who could it have been? Presumably they want to stop the Roaring, but they haven't shown up in-person to help do so.. perhaps they can't? That leaves, what, Gaster? We do know that there is a man behind trees.. And on a somewhat related note.. Our vessel gets discarded, and we seem to get abruptly stuffed into Kris as an awkward change of plan. But Ralsei knows Kris by name. Furthermore, the Legend of DELTA RUNE states that the Delta Warriors are a human, a monster, and a prince from the dark - and it's strongly implied that it is exactly one of each. Was Kris not originally meant to be a Delta Warrior? https://www.tumblr.com/ariadnesweb/682288932703158272/the-deltarune-prophecy-was-manipulated-noelle-was And, as ariadnesweb mentions, what was up with the vessel getting discarded in the first place? I don't know.. like I said at the start of this post, I don't really have any explanations for these things. I just want to point out that they're confusing, and maybe someone else will have some ideas.

OK SO HERE'S THE TEA.
I seen y'all debating over whether or not jevil is the tiny chunky lad that he is so im hereby standing my ground with STEAMING FACTS.
Using the generally accepted height calculation method in deltarune which is 1 pixel in-game = 2 inches irl, simply counting the pixels of jevil's battle sprite from the bottoms of his shoes (not the tips cause they're at an angle) to where his actual face ends (hat not included) gives us 31 pixels. multiply that by two and you get the amount of inches.
Jevil, the man, the myth, the absolute madlad, is 62 inches tall, or just about 157 cm/5 foot. thank u for coming to my ted talk

people seeing how ralsei can survive in dark worlds other than his own unlike other darkners and apparently jump from one to the other by ??? power of friendship ig and going "oh what if he ISN'T a darkner" is completely understandable, but i was watching this theory essay by Out_SiN (which i highly recommend because it raises quite a few good points about the plot and lore without dragging in any of The Big Guys from most utdr theories, which is super refreshing) and they proposed the light world as the often cited "Heaven" spamton is trying to reach, going on to say that maybe like undertale monsters need a human soul to cross the barrier/become gods, darkners need a lightner's soul to survive in the light world. now, i have a few doubts about heaven meaning just the light world and not something even more meta, but the undertale parallel between souls got me thinking...
because something else about monster souls in undertale is that normally, upon a monster's death, they're too weak to continue to exist, unlike a human's, same thing goes for their body. that is, with one exception: Boss Monsters. Their souls can actually survive outside of their bodies, albeit for just a few moments, but long enough thag they could, theoretically, be absorbed as well.
now, the writings on the wall in waterfall talk about boss monsters in the plural, but it's true that we also only ever know of two, in the story: asgore and toriel, the king and queen of the underground. we're not even sure if asriel was a boss monster too, but we can probably assume that's a yes.
what if this dynamic exists among darkners as well? darkners can't leave the dark world in their normal form, nor hang out in other light worlds, except... Castle Town? and Ralsei, who somehow isn't bound by these rules, what if he's a darkner equivalent of a boss monster. he's able to survive in dark worlds outside of his own, and to very briefly exist in the light world, just long enough to enter a different fountain, like in chapter 2.
castle town is covered in the delta rune, belonging to the dreemurrs. ralsei himself holds the appearance of a goat monster, which, albeit probably signifying kris' feeling of inadequacy over being human and adopted, are still the only boss monsters we know of that are confirmed to be such. ralsei is likely the fake horns belonging to kris, who is the protagonist and literal vessel to an otherworldly entity, around whom the entire story revolves around.
idk! i think it's a neat explanation for things as they stand now. the issue goes back to finding out 1 who opened the wardrobe fountain, 2 when, because it's likely it was long before the knight ever appeared 3 why and 4 what's their motive

((SPOILERS AHEAD))
YES I know DELTARUNE has been dissected at EVERY angle possible and reading it all in the past five hours has not helped…
because I think I know who the Knight is.
I BELIEVE that the Knight is Father Alvin who is Gerson’s son.
- So here is what we know:
- Gerson was old as fuck and knew everything about anything whether it be in the world of Deltarune OR Undertale. He even knew what the Delta Rune symbol was in Undertale.
- The bench commemorated to Gerson states the following about his stories and inspirations coming from DREAMS.
- Both Noelle and Susie have recalled trips to the dark world, unknowingly, as DREAMS.
- Therefore, Gerson has been to the Dark World, specifically inside the “UNUSED CLASSROOM” that he had when he was a teacher at Kris’s school. There’s even the picture of him on the wall by Alvin!!
- King in the Dark World was the ONLY King that was allowed to remain in the kingdom, with the other three kings in the dungeon.
- King also has unused text for a failsafe enemy message that states, “Fall before the Chain of Justice!” Who ELSE has a weapon that ends with “Of Justice?” Gerson and his Hammer of Justice.
- SPAMTON, when questioned about the Knight, as stated above, says “SPEAKING OF COMMUNION” as the first line of dialogue. Communion is a religious thing!! The end line mentioning Hell is also intriguing.
Now this is the part for speculation.
- I believe that Gerson has been to the Dark World and told these stories to Alvin while also telling the story of the Rune and/or prophecy that came with it. This could’ve impacted Alvin to the point where he romanticizes the Delta Rune. So he is a priest now.
- Along with that, it seems Father Alvin believes the Delta Rune’s Angel figure is a good figure! Always blessing Kris with some statement about the Angel or light guiding them in some way. We know that in Undertale, the Angel was a bad figure, the Angel of death, specifically. (take a look at Asriel’s god mode)
- In the Undertale prophecy, it’s generally understood that the Angel can be a good, but probably bad thing. With the Deltarune prophecy, it’s recognized to a similar level where we’re presented with both good and bad things about it as well. They want to BANISH the Angel’s Heaven, at least according to what Ralsei says. (sus little shit)
- All in all, Father Alvin is doing some PRETTY questionable things. Opening Dark Fountains, disrupting monarchies, standing in the computer lab closet that is spacious enough for a “big person.” He is pretty large, considering the tortoise shell.
THE QUESTION IS WHY? I propose several theories…
- COMMUNION. The definition of Communion is to exchange thoughts and feelings on a certain subject, specifically RELIGION and I bet my ass that Father Alvin was opening different Dark Worlds and spreading the holy word of the Delta Rune, as both King and Queen have spoken of the Knight fondly, it seems like a good deal right? More dark worlds sounds like a good thing to them, even though Queen had NO idea that too many fountains, as per Ralsei, could be very BAD for everyone involved.
- He wants to be an Angel, driven by a glorification of an old tale lost to time. BUT what he does is for the good of the Light world, in his head, and maybe not so much for the Dark World in reality!
- Perhaps he took on a task to keep a “balance” between the Light and Dark World.
- ANOTHER CRUCIAL DETAIL to both the Roaring Prophecy and the decrepit state of the first area of the Dark World in Ch. 1 would be the symbols that appear on the walls, the star-like, SAVE-LIKE SYMBOLS. Gerson or Alvin may have reopened the dark fountains in the unused classroom TOO MANY TIMES. Maybe, at some point, the Titans were awakened and (per the roaring prophecy of the world falling into chaos) The one “Chaos” King was left to rule the mess. (literally his title)
- I would like more suggestions because there are just too many puzzle pieces!!! Also please point out anything that doesn’t add up or any errors, because there are many other candidates for the Knight.
It sounds pretty farfetched, but the religious connotations between the Knight, the Delta Rune, and this GUY are just too juicy to ignore. A lot of people have developed upon this, so I apologize if you’ve seen it before but it needs more awareness!

deltarune theory: castle town origin, possible knight?
I think I know Castle Town’s origin, and a bit of why Ralsei acts like he does.
I think it was made by Gerson Boom. Gerson Boom in Undertale knows a lot about the Delta Rune, and is a “historian”, though he mentions it’s mostly because it’s “easy to write about history when you’ve lived through it”.
Castle Town has... very flat architecture. Like, literally, the houses look like cut-out pages from a book. They even fold and warp like pages from a book would.
Meanwhile, in the Deltarune universe, he also has fiction books. A fiction series with ties to his title, the Hammer of Justice, in the Undertale universe. It’s even claimed that “[his] best ideas came from dreams”. Sounds familiar, doesn’t it?
Look at those houses literally curling like pages from a book around the shrubs.
The storage closet that leads to Castle Town had a bunch of scattered papers, but when they fall we never see them again. The door is also clearly shut by someone on the outside.
The unused classroom even has a picture of Gerson drawn by Alvin. Someone heavily tied to the Angel that Ralsei wants to banish the heaven of. After all, Alvin is the priest at Home Town. The priest for a church around an Angel.
I think that Gerson’s book is part of why Castle Town is like how it is. That Ralsei is Kris’s headband, having been combined with the story rules of the book world.
Heck, the Spade King uses an attack called “Chain of Justice”. Only a word off from Gerson’s title. He also seems really upset at how he was abandoned. It’s very possible Gerson’s classroom was the unused classroom in particular, and his death led to the world ‘rotting’ essentially.
Finally I think that Alvin knows way more than we give him credit for. We have evidence he’s been in places tied to the Dark Worlds, and left a mark there.

Deltarune Theory: The First Glow Shard Was Ralsei (From The Start Of Chapter 1) The Whole Time...
before I go and play some Undertale and Deltarune, and just have me time to relax after some events that I had to get off my chest because of something that happen...
I wanted to talk about Ralsei, the one who is the same height as Kris, and has smaller horns than the Ralsei who appears in Chapter 2, and who possibly had switched places with the True Ralsei, when Susie was saving Kris from Lancer’s Dad....
I mean that Ralsei can’t be the one we first meet at Castle Town, and I believe that to keep the Player, Kris and Susie and Other Lightners from figuring this out....
That Other-Ralsei locks the Delta Rune Door in the dark world, so Ralsei can’t get out of that Card Kingdom that was ruled by The Four Kings before the Knight came along...
he even goes as far as to go out into the Light World, when Kris and Susie are possibly back in their homes....
and then he goes to the unused classroom, and locks the closet in that room, so Kris and Susie or anyone else from the Light World, can go back to that part of the dark world, and find out the truth that they trapped the Real Ralsei there.
I believe that Ralsei, the true Ralsei, was stuck in the form of a glow shard that we can find after we fall into the dark world, and have to try to look for Susie.
the place that we can choose to go down to and even see the glow shard in that dark hole, might really be Ralsei.
even if the glow shard is still in the inventory, that could just be one half of Ralsei, like once they got away from what looks like Lancer....
Ralsei took his true form when Kris and Susie were still out cold after escaping.
he might even know what goes on with the Red Soul, that the Player uses as a Proxy, and how it was once in another Reality known as Undertale, and it was trapped there while it’s body in Deltarune, went around either being Soulless or a Hollow-Soul for the other name for it, or it was taken over by Prince Asriel’s Soul.
while his dust held some of his memories that possible live on in two Floweys that would then end up leaving to Deltarune, and their places would be taken by other temporal versions of themselves...
this does not mean they would truly reflect the core Prince Asriel....
there could be a type of portal to the two different worlds of Undertale and Deltarune, where travel between the two is possible without the use of a broken machine.
before Asgore lost his job as part of the police in Hometown...
and before his divorce with Toriel....
I believe Kris ran away from home and heard stories of Mount Ebott (the one that is in Deltarune, but is a counterpart of the one that is from Undertale)
but on a certain day when the portal between the two worlds would be open, was the same day Kris accidentally fell down into Undertale.
they met and befriend, and even became the adoptive sibling of Prince Asriel.
but not all as what it seems, at some point, Kris died by being talked into eating something they shouldn’t, which might of been Prince Asriel that talked them into it.
at some point Queen Toriel, not knowing her Son’s Soul was still inside of Kris’s body, had buried them, and the red soul that belonged to Kris, was taken by Gaster who used it for his experiments and even found out about the Other Reality and World that Kris came from, and that their name wasn’t truly “Chara” and he decided to create a Chara, the one we end up seeing if we are able to fully finish the Geno Route.
for such a long time, in so many resets, Kris’s Soul was trapped....
Gaster possibly created a clone body of Kris, that would be known as “Frisk” that could be used as vessel for Kris’s Soul, but the Player would be in control.
plus Kris, while they could love their friends and family back in their world, could of slowly started to resent the ones in the world he had fell into.
because of Toriel (from Undertale) secretly killing the humans that fell down into the underground, and even going as far as use the Room Under Renovation Door to go out into the secret passage ways throughout the underground, to hide the items from Frisk, but possibly missed two that were still in the ruins,
like the knife and ribbon.
she isn’t just getting groceries, she is also busy going to and from the different secret entrances and it’s like a maze probably.
even if the fanon versions of her are truly good and not like her at all....
but Undertale Toriel could of came to save Frisk at any time, before The True Pacifist Route, but she doesn’t....and she even gives hints that she knows more than she let’s on, like knowing that if we choose to not to stay with her, she will hint that they will see each other again in the next reset.
also even if I didn’t think about it before, I still think she might of acted suspicious when placing the pie in Frisk’s room after we decide to stay with her.
she did ask what allergies we had well what allergies that Frisk had....
she could of used some info to put it in the pie...
and when that happens, Frisk does a Reset even without the Player being involved and they end up back to the start of the game, but in sleep mode and they will stay that way until the Player starts the game again.
the True Timeline, might be the Geno Route One and maybe even the Neutral Route....where we could seemingly go through a full Geno Route, but only go after the bosses and spare some monsters....
the Monsters in the game do attack first, and if their names aren’t yellow we can’t spare them right away...
and even if we do just do check or just press spare, they wont stop attacking unless we do certain mercy actions or fight without mercy.
if Kris is the Red Soul, then their time in that place might of been a lot...
when Kris was finally freed and went back to their world, thanks to Chara asking for the Soul.....when Kris finally got back into their own body, many years have passed since they disappeared and who or what was controlling their body when they were away, had already did damage, which Kris knows by the memories being placed into their soul that came from their body’s memory.
before they went missing, they were really close to Noelle, and wasn’t the one who played that Ice-E eating kids prank on her, that was whoever was in Kris’s body when their soul was trapped in Undertale.
while Kris’s brother Asriel from Deltarune, cares about Kris but might of use to be a little mean to them, but out grew it and became a better big brother...
their counterpart from Undertale, who is The Original Prince Asriel,
is possibly anything but a Angel....
even if at some point the Flowey that becomes a Asriel, is sweet and kind...
his memories of how things were before, were in theory, rewritten with false memories of being the one who was just following Chara’s plan, but really it was his own, because he wanted to be a hero for everyone in the underground.
the barrier wouldn’t of let anyone in or out, and I think the barrier only reached over at King Asgore’s castle and pass the throne room.
but why would Asgore have a normal home, as well as Toriel when they have a castle with a throne room, and possibly with bedrooms and even that other stuff you see at castles.
but I believe that the home that Toriel lives at, and has that tree, and even the one that looks just like it when we go to New Home that Asgore lives in.
they originally belonged to some other family....
possibly the purple one belong to the Royal Family of the Darkners and the Other that is like a light gray color, belong to a Royal Family of Lightners.
and that underground was a safe haven, until the humans decided to use it as a prison for the monsters.
that underground could exist in Deltarune, but it isn’t a prison....
and it is where both Lightners and Darkners, can live in peace.
there is no Snowdin or Snowdin Town, because Noelle’s powers didn’t get out of control to cause so much snow and ice, and unlike the Undertale version of Mount Ebott....
I think that the Mount Ebott in Deltarune, isn’t a volcano at all, or even a dormant one, that the monsters will have to use ice for....
that is Ice-Wolf’s job, that is why he throws the ice.
the two worlds might have different outcomes and even take place in two different realities, but it can be possible that travel between the two worlds are possible.
Kris ended up trusting the Other version of their brother, and ended up losing his body because of it, at least until they were free by Chara and send back to their original world, but the effects in Undertale World can’t truly be changed.
even if in the Deltarune Timeline, Kris is free, there will always be a version of them who is still trapped there and has to possibly live their life as Frisk if they do take full control when the Player isn’t around.
I mean that is how some fans could view it, like a off screen type of thing that has to do with events that happen when the Player isn’t playing the game.
like the video game characters from Wreck-It Ralph.
the red soul that is used to power the generator in the true lab,
is possibly a artificial soul that was created by Gaster, that belonged to Chara, who he had created as well and that the artificial soul belonged to.
Chara might really be a a Homunculus, which is a type of human but still slightly different....but Chara’s smiling might be that smile depression.
and even laughing wouldn’t mean that your happy, and if Kris went through that, then only their big brother in Deltarune, their parents and those who have known them the longest could tell when their laugh isn’t the happy kind.
like it could out that before Kris went missing, and had that not so happy smile and laugh, Noelle would comfort them and hold them in a gentle hug and tell them that everything will be okay.
if it’s just those two and their older siblings: Dess and Asriel, the two older siblings might help comfort Kris when they need it.
and how their buried body was brought back from Undertale, would of been because of Gaster, who not only used magic to bring the body back to full life thanks to it still being semi-alive thanks to Prince Asriel’s Soul still in the body...
but it being thanks to the fusion between Prince Asriel and Kris.
the one who pulls out the Player/Kris’s Soul from their body, was never Kris...but possibly the Other Asriel from Undertale, who then sneaks out and breaks into the library and uses the knife to open another portal to another dark world and creating another dark fountain.
which they had done before the start of Chapter 1 and before Kris’s Soul returned from Undertale.
Kris might want to think what they went through, as a really bad dream.
but those from that world might follow them back to their home one....
like Sans for one who might be Undertale Sans in disguise.
acting like he doesn’t know us when really he does, because he is the version of him that escaped the endless Geno Route Time Loop in the Undertale Timeline that he had came from before moving to Deltarune.
it is possible, but it’s okay that not everyone agrees to that idea.
plus the Player can form a true fusion type symbiotic bond with Kris through their true soul, which is the red soul that acts as the Player’s Proxy Soul.
but only if we don’t let the other entity, the anomaly that is possibly The Original Prince Asriel’s Soul, take full control on certain nights at the end of each chapter.
where he will take back control and sneak out to make another portal to another dark world as well as a dark fountain.
whenever the soul is pulled out, it is really Kris who is in that soul.
I had other theories about what happens when the red soul is pulled out,
like the soulless part that is a “Hollow-Soul” takes over and Kris’s true soul in the body with that Hollow-Soul, enters hibernation while the Player’s Proxy Soul is outside of Kris’s body.
the dust that we see when we first played Chapter 1 when we first ended up in the dark world, are possibly Ralsei’s subjects, that were taken out one by one by Kris, or at least Prince Asriel’s Soul in their body.
Ralsei might of known this and turned into a glow shard and hid himself so the one controlling Kris’s body, doesn’t find him and turn him into dust.
in the Deltarune, it is Darkner Monsters that turn into dust....
but if they go too long without a healing spell or food, they will not be able to be brought back....so Ralsei is truly alone without his original subjects.
Ralsei might know that Kris isn’t at fault that he lost his subjects, and it was the Prince from another world.
this is just fan theories, but I think the whole Kris or whoever controls them that isn’t the Player, making us believe that all they did was use the knife to grab a piece of pie, but only does this after they sneak out to break into the library and open up another portal to the dark world and even another dark fountain.
I think I would like to talk about a theory I have that has to do with Nightmare-Sans from Dreamtale, and how he has a right to be mad at his brother and everyone else from his original world.
like in theory, even a Positive and Wonderful Dream, will not always a good thing, if it keeps Negative and Terrible Nightmares bottled up.
like if you feel really bad, and it might show in a nightmare, but you might need it so you can feel better after letting it out.
maybe I can try to talk about it in a later post, that will have to do with a theory that has to do with Nightmare-Sans...
anyway I’m going to play video games now, and take my mind off of some stuff that happen today that has to do with some family stuff...
so see ya later and stay safe everyone.

Deltarune stuff I noticed/theories
SPOILERS!
(This is just a place I’m putting my thoughts and theories on deltarune, mainly chapter 2. Ignore this if you want ffff)
Okay so. Some stuff I’m noticing. Other dark worlds must still exist even w/o the knight opening a fountain. Fountains just connect the light world to the dark world, it doesn’t actually create them (which I’m sure has been figured out already, I’m just slow). We can confirm this bc king and queen already know each other even though they live in other worlds + ralsei knows that darkeners turn to stone in other dark worlds, which implies he’s aware of the other worlds.
Kris might not actually be the knight. Before you fight queen as a boss, she mentions that any lightner with enough Determination can open a dark fountain. So maybe kris is just determined to do so. In fact, I have a theory that ralsei wants kris to keep opening fountains…(also I feel that kris being the knight is a bit too obvious, or at least, not as big of a deal in the grand scheme of things if it’s being revealed this early)
I think when ralsei asks you to ‘imagine what Susie is doing right now’ in both chapter 1 and 2, ralsei takes that time to talk to kris without you, the player, being privy to their conversation. Ralsei is always caught saying “so that’s why..” right as Susie comes back to the party (as well as the player). Perhaps ralsei is telling kris things they don’t want the player hearing, and I think it might be ralsei asking kris to open dark fountains. Why? Maybe to keep getting access to other dark worlds and the darkners who live there. I think ralsei wants you to keep recruiting more darkners to castle town. For what, idk, but probably not something great. The card kingdom used to be ruled by four kings until the knight appeared and took the king of spades under their control. But now, after defeating the king, ralsei is the sole ruler, which definitely works in his favor.
I’m don’t think ralsei is evil per say, but obviously suspicious. He already knows kris and susie’s names before meeting them, he seems to be aware of game mechanics (more so than other characters) much like sans and flowey, he was able to make it to the library + the dark world that was opened there all on his own, he seemed quite dismissive after the spamton fight etc. But I don’t think that makes him an antagonist quite yet, I feel like that’s too on the nose for toby.
When the angel or angel’s heaven is mentioned in Undertale and deltarune it always makes me think of asriel. I think it used to be common to assume the angel was referring to frisk and/or kris but asriel makes more sense to me; Asriel is the name of an angel of death in Christian lore, which helps. In Undertale when asking about the ‘Delta Rune’ it’s said the angel will either set everyone free or kill everyone in the underground as an ‘angel of death’. Which refers to the Undertale pacifist fight w/ asriel as he both technically kills everyone before the fight and sets everyone free after the fight (plus he literally has rainbow angel wings, so). So when it comes to deltarune, maybe the asriel of this universe has been to the dark world before and influenced it? Or maybe it’s straight up referring to ralsei instead as he is probably connected to asriel? Idk mannn
Also I can’t wait to find out what happened with asgore and the police + what’s up with Noelle’s mom. And of course what’s behind the bunker in the woods. I’m also curious about what onion means about the familiar song they’re hearing,, just so much to look forward to!
(I may add to this later, I just wanted to get all my thoughts out)

Undertale/Deltarune Theory: The Two Angels of The Prophecy
Since I’ve been playing Deltarune as of late, I thought I would share some very compelling details I’ve noticed in game that have been rolling around in my mind lately...
This is a theory pertaining both Undertale AND Deltarune, because I found connections between both of them interestingly enough. To start my theory off: I will begin with the very prominent theme in Deltarune of religion. There appears to be a strange emphasis on how religious the home town of Deltarune is, with everyone worshipping some deity called “The Angel.”
It seems to be done in such a manner, that it is building up that the town is worshipping some false God of sorts. The town itself feels very…off. A very ominous vibe to it, especially with the very creepy bunker to the south of town as well.
The question is.. who is this Angel..? To answer this question, we will have to dig deeper. Another notable theme in Deltarune, is that many items found in the Light World—represent places and people in the Dark World. It mirrors it, essentially.
In the light world school closet, the cards on the floor represent the card suite inhabitants/card castle. The plush doll represents Seam, etc. Additionally, the red horns in Kris’s house could symbolically represent Ralsei’s presence, with his little red horns.
However... even more interesting enough, is that in the town hospital can be found two angel dolls. One— that was made by Kris and Asriel, where they “wasted the whole time making big wings for it.”
And the other, which was made by Noelle and her friend—looked like a typical angel doll, only “it’s lack of facial features was unsettling.”
This appears to be clear symbolism for two different characters/angels... but whom? The first one, I believe matches the description of Asriel’s final form in Undertale perfectly: it has a rather disproportionate body, with huge over-sized, magnificent wings.
Additionally, Asriel’s final form matches up with the Deltarune of Gerson’s prophecy, with each part of his angel body aligning with the runes. Gerson also mentions an Angel in his prophecy, saying that it will free everyone from the underground—which Asriel does at the end of Undertale, with the power of the seven souls.
Then... who is the second angel, who is symbolically represented in the hospital? An angel we haven’t seen yet, but likely will at the end of Deltarune. Based off the evidence/implications given, I believe it is Gaster.
To begin, the second angel doll is described with a lack of features that makes it unsettling—which is very reminiscent of Gaster.
To build upon this, the angel of Undertale—Asriel— plays a focal point in Undertale’s story. He is not shown until the very end of the game, with the true ending, and is very mysterious at first. On top of this, many.. many songs in Undertale have the leitmotifs of Asriel’s theme: HIS theme.
Meanwhile, Deltarunes soundtrack is heavily focused around Lietmotifs of Gasters theme, with the intro song being called ANOTHER HIM... Another angel, if you will. This implies that he is going to play a heavy role in the story, which is very much seen on the surface level of Deltarune—with the involvement of the “strange knight” as well as the subtext with Jevils backstory, having met a man that made his vision of the world grow “Darker, yet darker” and made him go insane, as told by the tale Seam the shopkeeper tells the protagonist.
Additionally, the very first castle we see in the game--(not card castle, mind you) has wings on it... much akin to an angel’s, and is spewing a dark fountain forth from it.
At the end of the chapter of Deltarune, Susie shows clear concern that they did not get rid of the right fountain. One fountain—the original, brought the dark world its life. The other, an unnatural source of darkness to upset the balance. And Ralsei, strangely enough, eagerly directed Kris to get rid of the Card Castle fountain—not the one coming from the Angel’s castle. The Angel’s Castle is also an empty kingdom, with no subjects.. except Ralsei.
But who is the king? Nobody knows… And a very foreboding music plays in the castle town, adding to the mystery of it. Ralsei, who is quite suspicious enough as it is, (might go into this further in another theory later) will not let Kris inside the castle, stating that Kris must save the world/complete the prophecy first... and then they can come back. Ralsei acts very nervous and distraught when Kris keeps trying to enter the castle, and blocks him from going in. He then shuts Kris out of the kingdom gates, barring him off from going back inside--sinisterly enough.
Additionally, the plot of Deltarune is based off the prophecy, to “banish the Angels heaven”. This makes the Angel seem like a very malicious figure...but why? What are the Angels motives, and what is the “Angels heaven..?” Well, if you talk to Gerson in Undertale, he says an interesting bit of dialogue that could be interpreted a bit differently with my context/point of view. One could argue that he is talking about “the angel of hyper death”, Asriel, when he says the Angel of death, but I believe it not to be the case.
Gerson states the following:
“Lately, the people have been taking a bleaker outlook…callin that winged circle the “Angel of Death”.
A harbringer of destruction, and waitin to “free” us from this mortal realm…”
This seems like a much more sinister view of the Angel, and not like Asriel. Even though Asriel is very threatening, he is still pure of heart, and ends up saving all of Monsterkind in the end. The second angel however? Wants to “free” every one, and brings destruction in his wake. In Deltarune, we see much destruction and chaos being brought about by a strange “knight”, who appeared one day to take over the card kingdom and beyond, using the Chaos King to help him assert control.
Seam also mentions that he hasn’t seen this much chaos, since the incident that occurred with Jevil—which implies that the stranger and the strange mysterious knight are one and the same. So, what then is the meaning of “free us from this mortal realm…?”, from Gerson’s prophecy of the second angel? Well, interestingly enough: in Deltarune Jevil mentions this line of dialogue in his boss fight, which lines up perfectly with Gerson’s dark prophecy:
“I AM INNOCENT, INNOCENT. I JUST WANTED TO PLAY A GAME, GAME. BUT THE BORING KINGS FOUND SUCH FUN TO BE A TROUBLE. AS PUNISHMENT, THEY CRAVED TO IMPRISION MY BODY. THEY LOST THE CHASE, AND LOCKED UP THEIR ENTIRE RACE, BUILDING A PRISON AROUND THE WHOLE WORLD. NOW I’M THE ONLY FREE ONE”.
This is extremely significant, because Jevil was made aware by the Knight that the world is only a game, and that he can become “free” by ignoring the rules of the game, if you will—to become sentient of the game itself. This matches up perfectly with Gaster: who after being shattered across time and space by falling into his creation, became aware that the world was all just a game.
So why usurp the Dark World? Presumably, to make everyone aware that it is all just a game: to save them, from being stuck forever without choice. To make them free…done in a very twisted way of course, taking over the kingdom, locking up the rulers and all.
So why do this? After all he was a former scientist of Asgore’s in Undertale. This is where the symbolism comes in, that I noticed. Gaster seems to be a “fallen angel” of sorts. He was driven into madness after “falling” into his creation— after messing with the balance of things. What that is exactly, is unknown at this time. But it is implied that he discovered the presence of timelines, and tried to figure out how to manipulate them.
This in a sense, was an act against nature/trying to defy god by trying to figure out the interworking’s of the world’s universe.
Additionally, in Deltarune there is a repeated theme of a “shining light” that guides you—where you save your Soul at. In the bible, the fallen angel Lucifer, who defied God, is likewise represented with a “shining light”. In the files, Gaster is also associated with the number 666—which aligns with the prophecy of him being a dark, fallen angel.
One could even argue his font/name Wingdings is symbolic, from the wing in the name. It isn’t a stretch to say that Toby got some inspiration from the Bible--he has gotten many inspirations from Undertale from various sources, including Asriel’s symbolism from a Hebrew god/demon named Azrael.
To add unto this theory that links both Asriel and Gaster together as being both angels, is that both were striken by tragedy. Asriel was killed at a very young age, and is forever stuck in an endless purgatory in the body of a flower. Meanwhile, Gaster was forgotten by everyone, including the ones he held closest, and was shattered across time and space. Both characters are implied to have been driven to madness because of this, but with Asriel having a bit more heart/sympathy to him in the very end, (due to having the power of the human Souls to feel compassion again) and freeing all of monsterkind out of a deep care for Frisk.
Gaster on the other hand…? Seems to be a lot more unforgiving, and much more threatening, seen by his heavily implied actions in Deltarune, taking over kingdoms without mercy, and establishing his power in the Dark World.
Another notable feature between the two characters, is that they both have black markings on their faces, stretching down from their eyes—(Asriel’s markings are seen during his final boss fight.) What are these? Well…one datamined detail (sourced from the Deltarune reddit) from Deltarune might be the answer to this question.
Both Asriel and Gaster have gone through incredible suffering, so this “pain” could have essentially manifested into the black markings, similar to tears. In the beginning of Deltarune, with the player’s encounter with the narrator/ Gaster, (or at the very least heavily implied...he speaks in the exact same manner) he asks the player what their favorite food is. Two answers, that immediately stand out as strange and bizarre—are pain, and cold—which at first glance is just an off the wall comment/dialogue option, but upon second glance gives us a window into what he has gone through—painful suffering, much like Asriel did, on a plane of existence where they could do nothing. Both characters also have committed horrible actions, due to their fall into madness, (Asriel as Flowey, being stuck in a soulless vessel for ages,) and Gaster, due to existential madness from realizing the entire world is just a game, presumably overthrew an entire kingdom to “free” everyone.
(Almost forgot--) Additionally, another piece of dialogue which links together the Knight and the Angel being one and the same—is a dialogue seen from the Chaos King/Spade King himself. During the battle with him—he mentions multiple times how he obeys the word of the Knight, and with him he shall make a “new world out of Holy Shadows”, which backs up my theory even more, that the folks of the Light world are worshiping a false idol, a dark angel to destroy them all.
Sound familiar...?
I believe this is made all the more likely with Undertale being a mirror to Deltarune and vice versa—it would make all the more sense that each game would have an Angel character, considering each deals with a prophecy containing the Deltarune. One Angel of Light, and one of Dark.
EDIT: Here are some additional findings that make this come all together even more.
*In Undertale, every zone’s monsters reflect the boss monster of the area. (The monsters in Alphys zone are all anime related. The ones in Undyne’s zone are all muscular/into piano like her, etc...) the only area in the game that doesn’t make sense is Mettaton’s zone in the Core. The mobs don’t suit him at all: except when you realize that he wasn’t meant to be the true boss of the Core in the first place, since Alphys made him. If Gaster hadn’t died/become shattered across time and space, he would have been the likely boss monster of that area. What is notable, is that all of the enemies of the Core are primarily knights, mad, some of them use crosses as attacks, have wings, one of them uses a “Morningstar” as a weapon, (possible reference to Lucifer Morningstar) and you have to defeat some of the monsters by “praying”. Not symbolizing Mettaton at all—but rather Gaster, showing that the foreshadowing seen in Deltarune is indeed likely correct.
*The egg in Deltarune is a possible reference to the tale of Adam and Eve, as it aligns very well. A mysterious figure tempts someone behind a tree with a “fruit of knowledge”. Kris is offered the egg by “him”, presumably Gaster. Taking the egg to the Light-World doesn’t change it like all the other items in the game—it still exists in the Light-World—showing the forbidden knowledge that the world is all just a game. Even though it is a secret/not accessed by usual means, the egg is additionally a key item—that might prove more important by the end of the game.

OKAY so everyone's aware of the whole thing where, when you defeat Sans at the end of the Genocide Route, the wound it leaves looks a whole lot like its bloody. Combined with the fact that we don't actually see him die, and his awareness of the nature of SAVEing/LOADing, many have speculated Sans isn't fully monster, and has some human element. But that was all just blind speculation around a seemingly anomalous character who both uses magic and has an organic body.
Until now. 'Cause, see, Delta Rune introduced us to beings who can use magic and have blood: Darkners.
Lancer knows, or at least thinks, the heroes have blood. He says he's gonna "turn them into blood" and even has a bucket to clean up said blood. Susie doesn't correct him because the conversation is framed around Lancer learning to be more badass/intimidating from her, so she's not concerned with the accuracy of the statement. And we know that people from Kris's world know what blood is, and have the same rules as in Undertale, that being that only humans have blood. This is shown by someone in the town recognizing Kris as "the human who lives at the top of town" and asks them if it hurts to be made of blood.
Yet, Lancer naturally thinks that crushing the heroes would leave a bloody mess, and we're suspiciously unable to kill any Darkners, so we never see anyone die or turn to dust. In fact, Lancer even knowing what blood is raises suspicions, because Darkners otherwise seem identical to monsters, and there's no indication they know what a human is.
But most importantly, to me, Ralsei doesn't correct Lancer. Just about every other time Lancer says something erroneous, Ralsei calls it out. But he doesn't so much as comment on Lancer thinking there'd be blood from crushing the heroes, meaning that, as far as Ralsei knows, there would be.
What this means is that Darkners can use magic and bullets, even manipulate the space a SOUL-heart moves in (in much the same way Sans does), but also have blood.
y'all
Y'ALL
SANS ISN'T A MONSTER
SANS IS A DARKNER
THE DARK WORLD IS WHERE SANS ORIGINALLY CAME FROM
Want one more piece of evidence? Darkners have colored dialogue portraits, while monsters from both Kris's world and Frisk's world have black-and-white dialogue portraits.
Sans, who would be the only Darkner in Undertale if this theory is true, conveniently has an actually black-and-white head. In other words, we wouldn't know if his portrait was coloured.
EDIT: As people have pointed out, the fast-travel doors in the Dark World have the same shifting light under them as the door to Sans's room in Undertale, a room that Papyrus said "looks like another world," and which is totally black when you first enter. Combined with Sans's mysterious ability to teleport around via "shortcuts," an ability that Lancer seems to share and Rouxls openly demonstrates, it seems highly likely he's using the Dark World to get around.
EDIT: People have been speculating that the photo of three smiling people in Sans's workshop could be the heroes of Deltarune... the ending theme of which closes with the lyric "Don't forget, I'm with you in the dark,"... so this photograph would be of the Fun Gang who traverse the Dark World... and spawns based on FUN values relating to a character who talks about her neighbor Suzy... and this photograph has "don't forget" written on the back...
EDIT: THE PRIMARY WAY TO PEACEFULLY DISPATCH DARKNERS IS TO GET THEM TIRED AND MAKE THEM FALL ASLEEP, JUST FUCKING LIKE HOW YOU BEAT SANS. THEIR NAMES EVEN TURN BLUE WHEN THEY'RE TIRED, FOR GOD'S SAKE. AND THEY CAN DODGE, UNLIKE EVERY MONSTER, BUT JUST LIKE SANS. HOT DAMN.
EDIT: After you beat Sans, he says he's going to Grillby's... and in Deltarune, we find him at that world's version of Grillby's (#######Sans' ). Also, people have pointed out how EXP isn't solely tied to actually killing, but to the perception of your actions; you gain extra EXP from mocking Loox before killing him, so clearly it has to do with perceived pain as much as physical murder. Which makes sense, considering EXP doesn’t physically change anything about someone, but simply marks how much easier it is for them to hurt and kill. That in mind, it's wholly plausible that Sans didn't actually die, instead teleporting once he was out of sight and eventually (somehow) ending up in Deltarune's town, but Frisk/Chara thought they killed him so they still received the EXP.
Also, for those who ascribe to the ketchup theory, here's a piece of actual dialogue from Deltarune (and I don't know how I didn't make this connection on my own when I played it): "This isn't another trick, is it, Kris? Like when you put ketchup on your arms and told me it was blood?"
I love the idea of Sans being filled with ketchup as much as anyone, but Toby is outright screaming the answers to us at this point. Not to mention it's explicitly stated in Undertale that monsters don't retain food inside them when they eat; anything they consume is automatically converted into energy. It literally can't be ketchup. Sorry, y'all. (But not that sorry 'cause it being blood ties in with this absolute avalanche of evidence that he's a Darkner.)

Krisei Zodiac Event Pisces Week
Pisces Zodiac Sign Info Gotten From:
https://www.astrology-zodiac-signs.com/zodiac-signs/pisces/
“Pisces are very friendly, so they often find themselves in a company of very different people. Pisces are selfless, they are always willing to help others, without hoping to get anything back.
Pisces is a Water sign and as such this zodiac sign is characterized by empathy and expressed emotional capacity.”
💧Pisces Week
(This the entire element Is water Im going to base the element off that with the au Ocean rune or just water scenes, since in the rules were aloud to do stuff based off the element of the Zodiac sign.)
Day 1:
The beach. A wonderful place to go on a hot day for anyone with plenty to do and see and so much activities for anyone even if you weren't a swimming person. Building sandcastles. Getting a tan. Going swimming. Just relaxing with a good book or painting the scenery. Volleyball. Collecting seashells. Snorkling or diving and seeing all the cool fish and underwater life. There was also the occasional fisherman and someone doing watersports like surfing, water skying, jet boats, a whole lot of fun on the beautiful waves and deep blue sea- Or if you were the pair of friends in question, you'd be sitting at a picnic table under the shade and snacking on the food you got. Milkshakes ain't got NOTHIN' on the heat here now, except maybe the chocolate ones they served. Chocolate milkshakes was always the best in his opinion as he happily ate and watched all the other people running around and doing whatever they wanted to do on this smoldering hot day, it was too hot for him though sadly. Fur and all but the scenery was really pretty, even more so now that it was sunny and not cloudy like it had been recently. So of course he'd drag his friend out of the house and into the glorious great outdoors!!......Buuut they were a little busy looking at a little piece of drift wood they had found while walking In the hot sun before being dragged to the giant umbrellaed picnic tables of the beach resort. They'd been doing that for quite a while actually.
"Kris?" The human hummed not looking up at the other one across from them. "What are you doing there?"
Instead of looking up from their lap they just shrugged. "Carving somthin'."
he frowned. he knew Kris wasn't a big fan of being in public, but this wasn't exactly what he had in mind for the two of them to do when he dragged the brown haired human out of the house. SO hhe smiled politely and asked. "Really? Whatcha carving now?"
"You'll see. Almost done," they mumbled still not looking up from their position and Ralsei just groaned and sat down into his seat.
he sighed and went back to his coco milkshake then. Watching as people still walked by and once and a while looked up just to see Kris still carving something with their carving knife and keeping it out of sight of the other until they suddenly brought it up and finally held it out to him. And in their hands was a small little carved out fish. he smiled and took the small gift from them and looked at the neatly carved little goldfish he was just handed. If it wasn't obviously made of wood then she would've sworn it was a real goldfish. They always had a nack for this thing and found Kris giving a small smile back, Ralsei couldn't help but stand up to go hug his friend.
"This is beautiful Kris! Thank you!"
"Your welcome."
Day 2:
*This takes place in the Au OceanFellrune since I wanted to try exploring this au more*
Well this certainly was a pickle wasn't it. Imagine just going for a swim with your best friend and enjoying a nice day at the beach to just relax, simple right? Yeah- Nope. A storm had blown in unexpectedly and swept through the sea just a few hours after they arrived. All he wanted was to just relax around on his floaty, not be swept out to the middle of the gigantic lake with no way back..Well, he could swim but those waves didn't look so promising against his mediocre swimming skills, at least if he stayed on the floaty he could stay afloat and not worry about sinking.
But now he had another problem...The sky was starting to get darker by the minute and he wasn't too sure which direction was the way back to shore anymore. It was kinda hard to tell with the waves being so tall and him getting tossed back and forth like a ragdoll on a beach ball wasn't the best feeling in the world, and he was starting to feel like puking. Man....he was starting to get tired of this-
"HELP!! ANYONE?!" Don't ask why he thought it was a good idea to start shouting for a friend who couldn't help him, might've been just a reflex or a hope but it would soon lead to more bad than good...Or would it? "HELP?! HEL-"
A wave chose that exact moment to rear it's ugly head and crash down over the poor human's body, the wind was knocked outta him like a rock slammed into her. Immediately air bubbles surrounded his form as he unceremoniously screamed from the hurtful impact, darkness surrounded his form as the stormy waves above continued to rattle about like some sort of punisher. It was surprisingly....calm in the dark black surrounding him. Almost like the night. Completely silent. A peaceful way to go if she didn't want to die.
It was when he turned and found two pink eyes and a mouth full of teeth staring at him did he scream again.
You know....It's really troubling trying to find some peace somewhere where there's not a lot available just swimming around, so imagine his luck when he stumbled across a seemingly dumb person just floating about in the middle of his territory. Kinda dumb being all the way out here in the middle of the dam storm, but who was he to judge. A human's a human. A quick wave was able to knock whoever the person was over and into the water where he waited. He grumbled just thinking about it... But that thought soon vanished after seeing her face.
UGH- He hated puny fighters. This one wasn't worth the trouble...Not enough courage on her. He also didn't appreciate the bubbles shoved in his face when she screamed again and started kicking up towards the surface. His face scrunched up in annoyance. Did everyone always have to be so rude when they see a gigantic aquatic goat monster looking at them? Oh well. At least he got to do the scaring part he always liked.
Ounce he made it back up through the swaying surface, coughing and spitting out out hislungs, a dark shadow loomed out from under him. In a split second the shadow had bust through the waves with ease. Water splashed over him, almost sending him down under the water again.
"AHAHAHAHAHAHA! YOU FOOOOOL!!!" His raspy voice boomed over the noise of the waves and wind. "Those who enter my territory are doomed to DIE! Wha- H-HEY!" He flinched back when he yelped and instinctively grabbed onto him to keep from being drowned down by a wave. "HEY! Do you have a death wish! Those who ever as much as touch me are bound to- HEY! STOP DROWNING WHEN IM TRYING TO THREATEN YOU!!"
With a blub sound another wave sent him under. He groaned. Did his enemies ALWAYS have to make things more difficult like this? He stuck his hand back under the waves and a moment later he pulled the shivering, sputtering human back out of the bobbing water. he coughed and spat out some of the salt water, heaving and looking up at him.
".....*sigh* You know what? Screw this. My voice isn't worth some drowned human."
He began turning in the opposite direction and making swimming through the waves look like a breeze. he gave him a confused. "Where-....W-Where are we g-g-going?"
"Im dumping you on the shore. You're not worth the trouble of straining my voice."
Day 3:
IT WAS HOT!!
A lot hotter than what he was really used to, and to be perfectly honest, he didn't enjoy having the burning feeling in his lungs, or the amount of ssweat running down his body, or the heat baring down on himself. What was wrong with enjoying a nice inside inside and relaxing? Maybe cuddled up together in a nice air conditioned room, watching the live action of Romeo and Juliet? That was a beautiful tale is he did say so himself. But Noooo- he just had to go running today of all days on the beach. When the sun was fricking making it almost 80 DEGREES!! He stopped and heaved his lungs out, hands on his knees and gasping for breath like a fish out of water. Soft foosteps rang out behind him and soon someone stopped next to him. It took a few moments but he eventually looked up into the smiling face of human.
"W-What art you..*wheeze* smiling at?!"
He laughed. "Ralsei, when was the last time you even took a relaxing jog?"
"KRIS?! Running on the beach with fur is too much. C-can’t we just go swimming instead?)
He laughed again and very easily stood on one foot and stretched the other out into a ballet pose. "Ralsei, exercise never hurt anyone. I know I enjoy it.~''
''THAT'S BECAUSE YOU’RE BUILT FOR THIS!! W-With NO fur!! I-I feel horrible! Why did I bake and eat so many cakes!?”
"Oh don't be so cranky." He rolled his eye not paying him any attention. "We still have half a mile before we can start back."
He heard his lover groan behind him and he chuckled again, well the sooner they finished the sooner they could go back. It was just then he heard wheezing sounds behind him and he turned around....and blinked. His boyfriend was no where to be seen. Until he looked down that is and saw a puddle of exhausted ghost monster on the sand.
"RALSEI!!"
Day 4:
*merman Kris braces legs and goes on land to ask Ralsei a question*
The screams of children swarm about the place as he stood outside the building. He never did like the thought of screaming little munchkins running around him, or their dirty little hands grabbing onto him, or sneezing on him-; He shuddered just thinking about the germs. Funny coming from someone who's eaten raw fish, but he was free to not like what he wanted. But, he was here for a different reason. Not for the kids-
"ACK-"
One of the small buggers crashed into his legs while running around. The little girl shook her head before squealing in delight and getting up to run after another child. Playing tag he presumed.
"Kris?"
He jumped and whirled around into the curious face of the very person he wanted to see...And who he sometimes got mad with. No he didn't like it when he held his hand. Or when he gently kissed him. Or when he smiled and hugged him- He hissed at himself which made him frown and raise a brow.
"Um. Are you ok?"
"NO!...Yes! Im fine. Im fine!"
His crooked smile didn't seem to faze him more and only resulted in more confusion. This wasn't going as he planned was it? Nope! He could see it in his eyes as he looked him up and down. It was pretty rare to see Kris on dry land, with legs, he seemed to despise legs and preferred to sticking to his underwater domain. ….So why was he here in the first place?
"Ok....Um. What're you doing here? I thought you hated land."
"I do!....I- Uh-" His face flushed a light pink, and he mentally cursed himself for stuttering. "I-....C-Came to see you."
"Really?" He nodded and he became a litle redder. Of course, he giggled at the cute sight as soon as it happened and he groaned. Did he always have to respond with his cute little giggles or when- HOLY CRAP! he grabbed his hand! His eyes shined like little gems up at him, and he actually gulped. "That's so nice of you. Did you want something?"
This was it. This was the moment he came for. So of course he opened his mouth-....And a high pitched squeak came out. They froze. A look of abosolute horror coming over his face. he however went wide eyes and gasped. ….Oh no. Not this. He didn't like where this was going- he squealed in glees and immediately grabbed his face.
"THAT WAS SO CUTE!! YOU SOUND JUST LIKE A BABY!!"
His face blew up a bright red and he sputtered. "I-IM NOT A CHILD!!" he cooed and booped his nose. "S-Stop! I didn't come t-t-to be treated like a child!"
he hummed. "Then what did you come here for?"
"I want a date Ralsei! I h-hate it when...you...….." His eyes widened. " D*MMIT!! Why do you always do that?"
"Do what?" he faked innocently batted his eyelashes and giggled once he drowned in the red sea of blush. He was always so easy to fluster like this. So, it was perfectly natural to place a small kiss on his cheek. The result was weird drowning fish noises and him reaching up to try and fail to limply pull his face away from him. he giggled that cursed cute smile. "I'm really honored you came all this way to see me and I'd love to go out with you."
His mouth dropped. "R-Really?!"
he nodded. "But I have to finish work first. Is that ok?";
He nodded silently and he patted his cheek before letting go. A couple children came up to him and wisked him away into a game he didn't understand and he didn't move. Just stand there red faced and silently watching after him...…..He gulped heavily and slowly leaned back up into standing position.
He needed to get better control of his expressions.
Day 5:
*more merman Kris*
What had made him come to this? What lunatic controlling fate made the grand decision of making him fall for such a small weak little thing like him? He would probably never know, but the way he was giggling and holding his very red face right now in his soft little hands. He could always turn around, swim away, and never look back-....but he mustve put some kind of spell on him as he continued to gush at him.;
"I could eat you right know." He gave a small growl, showing on his fangs to give his point. "Know one would know and you always risk yourself by coming you know.''
he smiled. "You won't do that."
His brow raised. "How can you be so sure?"
he smiled wider. "Because your face tells a lot more than you think."
D*M IT ALL TO NEXT HELL!! He cursed himself for being like this, for being so weak and vulnerable around someone who wasn't even a threat to him. What would happen if some danger did come along?! NO! He didn't like the way he looked at him with those big beautiful eyes, or the way he was so patient with his stupid arse, or the way he was always squishing his cheeks in his soft paws and calling him cute- NOPE! NOT AT ALL!! And he definitely didn't spend last night laying awake thinking about how cute and soft he was! Nope! And he definitely didn't hit his head trying to catch him a fish she loved just to see him smile at him-
ABSOLUTELY NOT!!
…...Ok. Maybe- But that's a very small maybe.
Day 6:
*even more merman Kris*
"S-Stop it."
"Why? You're acting like a child."
"Because I don't like physical contact. And I'd like to see you prove me wrong.'' He made a move to pry his hands from his face but that idea was scraped when he felt something small on his face.
OH SWEET MOTHER OF HECK-!! WAS THIS GOATvSERIOUSLY-?! he gave a small kiss on his cheek which he froze at, immediately his face broke out into a watermelon red. His hands were shoved in front of his face as to hide his embarrassment.
"AAAAAAAAHHHHHHH- STOP THAT!!"
She just giggled and gave him another small kiss. More muffled screams followed, before the flustered screaming merman turned around and jumped from the doc red faced still holding his face as Ralsei giggled and waved good bye.
“Bye, Kris. I’ll see you tomorrow!”
Day 7:
*ralsei helping Kris with his fear of water*
He shouldn't. He couldn't......HE CAN'T!!
"I can't do this."
The human whimpered out as his red eyes gazed over the body of water that was in front of him. Already he could feel his body sweat and legs wobbling as he stared at it. A small black hand grabbed his making him flinch and look at the smaller demon next to him.
Ralsei blinked his pink eyes at him and smiled. "Oh, come on. It'll be ok." To prove his point, he stepped into the kiddy pool still holding his hand. "See? It's safe and sound."
He shook his head. "I-I don't think t-t-this is a good idea, Ralsei." He gulped down the lump in his throat. "I-I think it would be m-much better if I-I watched..through a window."
Ralsei still didn’t back down as he pulled Kris forwards more and yanked him a bit forwards enough for the human to yelp and freeze when the water came up to his ankles and shuddered at the cool feeling around his feet but managed to smile for Ralsei sake. Making the goat monster smile back.
“See? I told you it’d be alright”

OH BOY I HOPE THIS POSTS DECENTLY
basically some asks i got got me rly thinking abt like... what the darkeners would be like in the future.......... specifically lancer but like he has a whole fam. and thennnnnn i got super carried away with coloring (i need to practice anyway)
notes headcanons and things under the cut!
Please reblog! It means more than just a like!
so likeeee
I like to think lancer really did try his best to be a good king, like he treats people fairly and kindly. Maybe Seam would come back to the castle if he heard that the spade court is no longer ruled by someone influenced by the knight?? work with lancer to get the kingdom back to where its supposed to be
as for ralsei like kris and susie just left him there in the castle. lancer couldnt stand the thought of one of his new friends being alone in a gloomy ol castle all day so he invited him to live with him in the card castle! not much was said about what exactly ralsei was doing all alone but... im sure he was eager to live in a place full of people. I can see him working on archival things. like writing or printing books or like librarian things? i think itd be fun if he and lancer like taught each other how to do the others magic (defensive and offensive)
the spade pins are basically kind of dual purpose family crests/ friendship charms. given as gifts to those lancer trusted. the placement doesnt matter i just put it where it felt right for the design.
lancer and ralsei are wearing delta runes because they helped fulfill the prophecy.
for the old king.... i am of the opinion that he was heavily influenced (maybe even brainwashed idk) by the knight (who or whatever that is) and his actions were fueled by rage. i know he was lying abt like “i am not used to fighting like this” to make the gang drop their guards but... i really think that was a sliver of truth. i know child abuse is like, a horrible thing to work through but idk... i think hed hate to give up on his dad. help heal him like the kingdom. in the pacifist route maybe the subjects can help and say like “yeah the lighteners were really nice!!!!” and help convince him??? idk. i dont think its exactly in lancers character to leave his dad locked up in a mossy cell forever. the old king is kind of a sad old man. guilty and tired. lancer may forgive him but he cant take back what hes said and what hes done to his only child. (oof ouch angst)
NOW WHY IS LANCER SO SWOLE idk i mostly wanted him to have a different look than the king. (top heavy rather than bottom heavy) he also seems like a lil ball of energy and i feel like that would carry on until adulthood. i could see him wanting to spar or train, not really in preparation for a fight (but who knows!) but maybe like being able to be strong enough to protect those he cares about. (if anything i can see him being the guy working out his arms saying “heck im gonna be so good at hugging”). i also wouldnt be surprised if susie made him want to be stronger since shes so strong and cool!
as for rouxls im not sure!!!!! hes not good at puzzles but he really does care for lancer and lancer cares for him. hes probably like... just a duke? some kind of member of the spade court.... idk. hes not going anywhere. he still basically raised lancer while his dad was off doing bad guy things. hes family, and family means no one gets left behind.
ralsei did braid his hair once and he decided “yanno what i like this “ and kinda incorporated it into his look.
ANYWAY i worked on this piece like all day thats why theres so much written here, thank you for reading it if you did <3
#deltarune#lancer#king#ralsei#rouxls kaard#headcanon#painting#fan art#weeps#i hate rendering why do i punish myself this way#im#so glad it came out good tho#kaard hair took like a whole 45 minutes i aged 20 years along with them

Bali’s Spoiler-Tastic Thoughts on Delta Rune
as queued up while it’s still semi-fresh in my mind, and after the 24 hour secrecy command is lifted. still putting under a cut tho!
BOY HOWDY, THAT SURE WAS A RIDE.
i’ve been hearing some people mention that getting more pieces of the key might help, but so far, it seems like everyone’s getting the same “ending” to that first chapter - kris gets up, tears out their heart/soul, and throws it into the cage. cue “chara” - i presume.
i will be firing up the game again later today to check if sans actually meant “tomorrow” to go and see papyrus, so we’ll see how that pans out!
i really adore toby fox’s writing. so many things click into place after the fact that you genuinely don’t see coming, but seem so obvious in hindsight. prince of darkness ralsei? GOSH GUYS, I WONDER WHO THAT COULD BE
ferry put it forward to me that the name of the game itself - delta rune, being an anagram of undertale - means it’s a remix of undertale. the same basic story of the people above ground helping - or hurting - those who live below, but drastically changed in other regards. clearly almost all of the same characters still exist, though their relationships, in some cases, are entirely different.
observations so far:
“chara,” or the fallen human, is still alive - but everyone calls them kris
asriel is also still alive and whole; per the game, he’s off at college
toriel and asgore officially divorced - he doesn’t seem to have any rule over the monsters, though he still gardens like a fiend
kris is the only human depicted in the game, but everyone seems to be above ground. an AU/remix where the monsters were allowed to stay up top? what, then, is the difference between the “lightners” and the “darkners”?
kris and susie waking up in an abandoned classroom with toys and game pieces directly tied to the darkner world is, HMM, HOW DO YOU SAY, SUSPICIOUS
kris could...also be considered an anagram of frisk, minus the f. regardless, how is “frisk” involved, since the PC is definitely supposed to be an older chara?
asriel is older than kris, since he’s off at college...but how is ralsei related, then?
or maybe the darkner world is itself supposed to be a different version of the lightner one?
aaaaa, there’s so many possibilities!!
and yes, of course i made farris right off the bat during the survey, come on now. which made the “we’re throwing them away, your choices don’t matter here” ending of that particular part ESPECIALLY poignant, lmao
of course i immediately took a screenshot the minute i saw him, are you kidding?
*face in hands*
ferry made so much fun of me this entire sequence, believe me
IT’S GOLDEN. NOT RED. G O L D E N
i’m likely getting sucked back into drawing farris semi-regularly again, provided we hear anything about frisk. but i will for sure be bringing cain into play...
