I do not have the financial means nor the time to personally buy all of the drama CDs or tokuten for all 13 characters, for example, so if you want something translated: please include a link to the source materials. Like at all. One story is literally a Mafia AU. I'm not making this up I swear.)

There are a few booklets that I'm missing, namely the HDB ones and most of the Drama CD ones. I'm on active lookout for the latter while the former... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I honestly don't care about. No Ruki = none of my money. I'm a Ruki fan first and foremost, if that's not abundantly clear lol.

I have no idea whether the majority of these are any good but my hopes are high! In any case I am very excited to give them all a listen! Or more like multiple. I'm addicted to Ruki's sexy voice what can I say.

Translator’s note: You would think that a CD with just Reiji & Ruki might be a little boring since both of them are rather stoic characters, but I honestly had a blast listening to and translating this track. It was quite fun to see Ruki get into the act of performing right away and Reiji eventually crumbling underneath the pressure as well. Also the mental image of the two of them striking poses while using those magical cleaning tools had me absolutely dying inside. The MC actually joins in the fun this time as well as they don’t treat her as harshly compared to some other CDs, which was a nice change of pace as well. 

Reiji: Hm…

Ruki: …

*Rustle*

Reiji: Clam shells belong in the combustible waste.

*Rustle* 

Reiji: While these empty jars of shichimi-togarashi go inside the recycle bin over here. 

*Rustle rustle* 

Reiji: Haah…That being said, why exactly am I being forced to work up a sweat by sorting out other people’s rubbish? …I believe all of this can be attributed to a lack of discipline from the eldest son. Good grief. The carelessness of the Mukami family in that regard leaves me at a loss for words. ーー I would love to know what the eldest son has to say about this himself. Right, Ruki?

Ruki: …You take the words right out of my mouth, Sakamaki Reiji. The empty candy bags scattered across the ground over here all belong to Sakamaki Kanato, do they not? You should be grateful that I’m cleaning up after him. 

*Rustle rustle* 

Ruki: Haah…Haahー I suppose this half-eaten takoyaki must be Sakamaki Ayato’s. 

*Rustle rustle*

Ruki: It seems like the Sakamaki family does not know that one must not waste good food. The second eldest son sure loves to talk ill about our family, yet he seems to completely fail to see the damage his own brothers did. 

Reiji: …Can you blame me? None of this would have happened if you lot had not forced her to come eat with you. 

Ruki: And what exactly is the problem with that? We simply invited her to join us and have a meal while watching the water fountain. This whole place turned into a junkyard because those triplets from your family had to come and complain about how we were playing it ‘dirty’. 

Reiji: That is not true! You lot were the ones who provoked us by starting to throw nuts our waーー …Right. It was those two Tsukinami brothers who started the conflict. 

Ruki: Ah…Now that you mention it, that’s true. 

Reiji: Well, the culprits made a run for it, of course. 

Ruki: Tsukinami Carla…I told him to come help us clean up this mess, but he simply snorted at me in response. 

Reiji: He was the one who initiated the fight though. Thanks to his display of various magic spells, the area has been cleared of all visitors. …Haah.

Ruki: Our other brothers went on their own merry ways to have fun…In other words, the two of us are stuck with the dirty work, huh?  ーー I guess we should get back to cleaning. 

Reiji: Yes…If we leave all this food laying around on the ground, it might attract wild animals. Haah…Why did things turn out like this? 

Reiji continues cleaning. 

*Rustle rustle* 

Reiji: Phew…

Ruki: Hah…

*Rustle rustle*

Ruki: …Anyway, what is taking her so long? It shouldn’t take that long to ask a cleaning trolley from one of the staff members, right?

Reiji: It’s that silly girl we’re talking about. I can already imagine she got lost somehow andーー Oh. Haah…Seems like you’ve finally made it back. …Hey, you! Over here!

You run up to them. 

Ruki: You are awfully late, Livestock. What on earth took you so long? 

You explain. 

Ruki: Oh well, let’s get to cleaning right away. 

*Rustle rustle*

Ruki: Oi, Sakamaki Reiji. I want you to carry that trash bag over there. 

Reiji: I am already holding it. Please do not order me around like you do with your own brothers. 

They start walking around to pick up all the trash. 

*Rustle* 

Reiji: Haah…It’d say we made some pretty good progress. 

Ruki: Still, looking past the mess we made ourselves, the venue is pretty dirty.

Reiji: There is no cleaning staff after all. So this was bound to happen. 

Ruki: Now that you mention it, they do have security guards and people in charge of the rides, but I can’t see a single janitor around. What is going on? It only seems natural to have a cleaning team around. 

Reiji: Now that you mention it…Apparently this parade had its own performer-janitors in the past. However, with more people being laid off year after year, at one point they ended up with nobody to do the cleaning. 

Ruki: Excuse me? I fail to see the link between performing and cleaning. 

Reiji: No, there is. The janitors who were employed by the Parade did not just clean the area, but they considered it their duty to capture the hearts of their audience with their techniques. From what I heard, their performance is said to have been truly magical with stars flying through the air and flowers blooming around them. …Well, those are only the rumors, of course. 

Ruki: To capture people’s hearts and captivate them…with your cleaning, huh? …Hm. Livestock, and Sakamaki Reiji, you as well. We shall put up an act with our cleaning as well. We shall become the new performer-janitors of this Parade. 

*Rustle*

Ruki: You would be surprised at how much the visuals of a location matter. Even if we were to try and have a good time, seeing all the trash scattered around the area would only ruin the experience. …I am sure the performer-janitors from the past also tried to give the visitors a good time while also ensuring that the venue was kept clean. …I believe we should inherit this sentiment of hospitality towards the visitors. 

Reiji: Still…How exactly do you intend to put up a performance? I doubt that is something you can simply come up with on the spot. 

Ruki: No need to worry about that. I already have an idea.

Ruki: Heh. I knew it. …I already had a hunch when hearing the staff talk earlier, but it seems like these are not just regular old cleaning tools. 

Reiji: There is something special about them? 

Ruki: It would be much quicker to test them out rather than to explain everything. Take a look. I shall show what I mean by using this broom. …!!

Reiji: …!! Sparkles are coming from the tip of the broom! …How did you do that!? 

Ruki: These cleaning tools have been induced with magic. When you use them, you can create all sorts of special effects and illusions. …Heh. I guess you could say I’m a proper performer right now.

Ruki: You like that? You should give it a try then as well.

Reiji: Do not even think about it. There is no reason why you should wield something potentially dangerous. 

Ruki: Rest assured. It is not difficult or anything. …Here, all you need to do is gently wipe down the wall with this rag.

Ruki: What do you say? Feels great, doesn’t it?

Reiji: Why of course! I shall wipe that cocky smile off your face in no time. 

Reiji walks over to the bench.

Reiji: …What a foul stench. …Wha!? What is this!? 

Ruki: I believe it is grilled seafood sold over at one of the food stalls over there. From the looks of it, it has been laying there for quite some time. …Well then, show us what you’ve got. You can clean this up without having to rely on the tools from the Demon World, correct? 

Reiji: …!! O-Of course not! It is revolting!

Ruki: Hah…What a disappointment. 

Reiji: Excuse me…!? 

Ruki: All I am saying is that a first-rate performer such as myself can clean up this mess in no time and with little ease. 

*Rustle* 

Ruki: …Oi, you. Fetch me the red and blue spray bottles from the cleaning trolley.

ー You run over to the trolley.

ー You return to Ruki’s side. 

Ruki: Mm. …Good. Hand me the blue one first. By spraying this on top…

Reiji: …!? It vanished in front of our eyes!?

1. More Blood

You probably didn't see this coming, but I really enjoyed his MB route! I'm aware of how hated it is because of the cat scene, and while I disagree with Ruki's actions, they didn't ruin him for me. I just love how SASSY Ruki can be, even if some of his roasts are really mean, but I'm sure they're just there to make the audience laugh. I think the funniest one was when he told Yui "Today we will go home on foot. Why? Because a person such as yourself who doesn’t know how to stop when eating is very prone to put on some pounds after all.” He's so savage, and I love it, but I wouldn't want to deal with such a person in real life, lol. Aside from that, his last Ecstasy chapter was the first to make me cry, and his Vampire Ending was stunning, especially the kissing cg!

2. Chaos Lineage

Another unpopular choice because I've seen a lot of people complain about it being boring and lacking significant romantic interactions due to including his brothers too much, and while I can't say his route was very good, I still really like it! I'm glad Ruki was less obsessed with Karl there, and he seemed more relaxed and genuine overall. He even pouted at one point, which was so cuuute! I love the Mukamis, so I'm always up for family moments, and the romance was adequate, neither exaggerated nor non-existent.

3. Dark Fate

Would have given it a higher rating if Ruki hadn't been such a jerk in the first half, and what bothered me the most was how he treated his brothers. Kou had very good reasons to be mad at him, and it's already becoming frustrating because they're supposed to be best bros, yet Ruki and Kou always find a way to fight. What did I love about it? He got down on his knees and apologized to Yui for saying such horrible things. I was moved to tears by the scene in which he cried for her because I had not expected Ruki to do such a thing. Furthermore, his Vampire Ending is probably my favorite of all games; it's simply the best possible outcome for him and Yui.

4. Lunatic Parade

I don't remember much about LP, but his route was fun, and I think he was more flirty than usual there, which is a plus! Well, everyone had great LP routes in my opinion because that game was truly lighthearted!

5. Lost Eden

He was ideal in the first half of the route, but the second half irritated me greatly. Maybe I have high expectations, but are you really going to tell me that in the previous game, a "dummy" character only heard ONE thing about Karlheinz yet immediately connected all the dots about all his victims, realizing that he's truly the root of all evil because he was using everyone for his selfish desires and then… there's Ruki who 1) was told by Christa that Karl was Trismegiste aka the person who ruined his life, 2) went to Romania to read about the Revolution, where Trismegiste was mentioned, 3) had his ghoul-father tell him that Karl is Trismegiste and that he slaughtered a bunch of people to make ghouls out of them only to have Ruki say this "I'm sure Karlheinz-sama regretted his actions, that's why he gave our lives back". If he had regretted, he would have rewinded time long ago. I'm aware that different writers exist, but they should be more careful when writing these parallels because it can cast their own characters in a negative light, since one reaction will always be better than the other. Still really liked the lore and the fact Rejet learnt something about Romanian history.

6. Vandead Carnival

I enjoy VC as a game, but Ruki was a little too stiff for my liking. It wasn't bad, but I felt like Ruki was babysitting Yui for almost the entire route. :”)
