Liveblog: Wakfu Season 2 (episodes 13-16)

Episode 13 - The Night of the Thirsters

Proof Amalia and Joris are not close friends number 829342345: if she knew the alcohol he drinks and what he considers "a clean environment to live in" she'd get scared.

WoT twitter would kill Amalia.

I know it's more likely that both alcoholic and non-alcoholic bamboo milk exists, but the thought of everyone being a-ok with Yugo underage drinking makes me giggle for some reason. Ruel would fucking do that.

Are your villains 1. indestructible, 2. want to consume something that could theoretically fix them, 3. in the process, inflict a fate worse than death upon their victim, who 4. becomes one of them?

...Necromes were a missed opportunity. Shoulda called them Wakfu Thirsters instead.

Episode 14 - The Voice Thief

It's always sad to see the way the world has been devastated by Ogrest's Chaos.

New Krosmoz music lore: We already know that vinyls and their players exist, as well as the fact that rock music exists (due to the fact that The Blues of a Hypermage (parody of the IRL song The Blues of a Buisinessman) exists).

Now we have the confirmation that metal bands are real.

Also, electric guitars are also real.

Mics are also real. (I am totally not noting all of this down because I want to write a "Joris, Kerubim, and Atcham go to karaoke" scene in one of my fics in the future, nuh-uh...)

Episode 15 - Wabbit Island

Hhh she is a very good artist.

[guy who is insane voice] This means that if I ever want to use the expression "canary in a coalmine" in a fic it'll be "tofu in a coalmine" instead.

The word Sayonara exists in Krosmoz which implies that some sort of fantasy Japanese is real. Big win.

Episode 16 - The Cursed Fountain

While I usually talk a lot about character parallels between Yugo and Joris (these men who had to grow up far too fast will someday commit acts which no human being can be forgiven for in the name of goodness—-) there is a lot to be said about parallels betwen Eva and Joris.

They're both artistic, kind people who try to appear logic-driven (and sadly, they are both basically the wranglers/babysitters of their entire adventuring groups).

All the information's and videos we have about the Japanese dub of Wakfu

Beware this a long post, this post is for regrouping all that we know about this dub as it is currently lost.

(This post took me way longer to write than I thought all thanks to me accidentally finding a lot of the voices actors)

If you ever find more information's or even videos of it please tell me! I will add all of it to this post.

The dub was originally announced in 2017 and started airing on July 23 of the same year. It aired on the paid channel DisneyXD. Only the first season was ever dubbed.

For years the dub was available to watch on the channel and has been re-aired a few time during the years. In 2021 DisneyXD Japan got finally terminated following all of the other channels around the world which means that the Japanese dub of Wakfu was now impossible to find anywhere.

VOICE ACTORS

Starting "small" but here are all the confirmed voice actors that we know of, most of them were either added to the Japanese Wikipedia page of Wakfu or announced their roles on social medias!

A lot of the voice actors have announced their roles which I think is really nice (but the amount of tweets I had to translate was not).

(There are two VA's here that I'm not sure if I translated their name correctly as I couldn't find more information about them, this why the two ("?") have next to their name).

The opening was originally posted in 2017 on Twitter and not long after on Youtube but as you can see if you clicked on both links, one got deleted and the other got copyright strike.

The earliest upload we have after that is funnily enough in this multi language video of the opening, after that the opening alone with only the audio got re-posted in 2019 with this video:

Sadly we do not know who sung this version of the opening.

The singer of the opening is credited as "URAN" in the credits

The Tofu Brotherhood (TFB) has no time to wonder what fate the 12 Divinities have in store for them for this sacrilege: the floating territory is devastated!".

Before an actual final season premiere on a national French television, a sneak preview in the panel is yet to be shown in-person at the Angoulême International Comics Festival (AICF) on Thursday late-afternoon (January 25th, 2024 at 5:30pm -- France local time).

Inside a panel in Angoulême City, the said country, will discuss about the upcoming 4th and Final Season of the show, in the presence of Wakfu show creator named Anthony "Tot" Roux, one of the authors with French YouTuber personality (Malec) and Wakfu's historical Character Designer (Sonia Demechlis).

In a televised trailer 'X Network' (formerly Twitter) released Tuesday afternoon (January 16th, 2024), the heroes of the Brotherhood of the Tofu, Yugo the Eliatrope, Prncs. Amalia Sheran Sharm, Ms. Evangelyne the Cra, Mr. Ruel Stroud and among others have fought against formidable enemies and ancient evils. But sadly, things are gone crazier and darker situations as the fate of 'The World of 12' rests on their shoulders.

K5 News FM learns exclusively that the runtime for this 4th Season of Wakfu is 22 minutes long, with a final 13 new episodes.

French cartoon show of Wakfu was started in the late-October 2008 during France 3's kids programming block "Toowam", before transitioning to Ludo (home of between Wakfu on the said date of 2008 and LoliRock in the late mid-October 2014).

At the time of the writing with a confirmation from Ankama Studios and Zodiak Kids & Family (part of Banijay Group), theories in French kids cartoon suggest between LoliRock and Wakfu will not be planning to do a crossover episode for now, in and outside of this same public broadcasting network on Wakfu's final season for France Televisions.

As reported exclusively between AnimeTVFrance news bureau (via The X Network) and Ankama News (also via the press release division of Wakfu), we do know that the new episodes to be aired back-2-back on primetime until early mid-March 2024.

With this, you can catch LIVE new episodes of the final 4th Season of Wakfu, premieres February 9th, 2024 at 1:30pm Eastern / 12:30pm Central (in the United States) / 7:30pm in France -- only on France 4's Okoo programming block and streaming LIVE via the France TV website, Animation Digital Network (ADN) and on the Okoo app for Google Play and Apple App Stores in France.

I'm trying to find everything left of the Japanese dub of Wakfu on the internet.. and it's genuinely astonishing that there's barely nothing left of what little was shared and a lot of it got deleted 💀

The only thing I found is:

- The dub trailer that is on YouTube and Twitter

- The opening

- Two small snippet of episode 1 and 6 (Ruel meeting Evangelyne and Amalia, and the brotherhood meeting Vampyro and Ombrage)
