The new rwby short reminded me of one of my favourite aspects of team rwby. Which is that it starts with Weiss and Blake being two traumatised teens with dark backstories who meet Ruby and Yang who are like wow! You guys seem to have a lot of baggage and we'd like to help with that. We're just normal sisters but we'll do our best :D
And then cut to 9 seasons later when Weiss and Blake have conquered their demons, reconnected with their families and are slowly healing meanwhile every small drip of lore we get about Ruby and Yang's family feels like this
It's racist, my dear, to be blunt. People come from outside, they think we're all witches and druids. For God's sake, child, you walked into a piece of string!
Sound on for the vroom! Hummingbirds are around but must still be nesting because activity is still low. I am happy to have cameras on my feeders, so I don't miss any visits. Usually things pick up here mid-July into September, and I am ready!
Pouring all my love into drawing every RWBY nature scene for every beloved character--all of it inspired by this beautiful, beautiful show and by the amazing individuals of CRWBY. In every humble and heartfelt way, dearest CRWBY, your work has inspired more than you know! 💖
Scarlet Elf Cups (Sarcoscypha coccinea) and Ruby Elf Cups (Sarcoscypha austriaca) (indistinguishable without microscopy) are one of the few Spring mushrooms that are also edible. They have a mild taste (when overcooked, can become flavourless). They can be gently pan-fried in a little oil/ butter or used in a stew, and they make a nice addition to pasta and rice dishes, or fried eggs.
If you're out looking for them, Elf Cups enjoy wet, muddy places (often close to a stream), and they grow on fallen twigs, rotting wood, under dead leaves but can be easily spotted because of their bright red color.
From the erebidae family. They have a wingspan of 35-45 mm. They inhabit most open habitats, including downland, heathland, moorland, woodland clearings, sand-dunes, gardens and water meadows. They can be found in most of Europe, North Africa, Russia, Central Asia, Tibet and certain areas of North America.
