“Hey, Dar,” you greeted your husband with a smile, hopping into the old truck Daryl had taken to work for the day. You settled back into the worn leather, letting out a big sigh of relief. You were relieved that the day was over. Being at work at past seven pm should be illegal, you thought to yourself.
Daryl gave you a small smile. “Hey, Peach.” He started up the truck once he saw you were settled and pulled out of the parking lot. “Long day, huh?”
“God, you don’t even know the half of it,” you groaned. It had indeed been a long day; from parent-teacher conferences to meetings you couldn’t care less about, on top of having to break up multiple fights throughout the day, it was safe to say that you were exhausted.
Daryl chuckled and absentmindedly started chewing on his thumbnail as he pulled onto the back road that would make for a faster route back to your apartment than braving the traffic on the highway. “‘Least s’Friday. Two days’a freedom, huh?”
You scoffed and shook your head. “Nope. I need to work on some stupid report. All the teachers have to. We need to have it done by Monday.” You sighed and reached for your husband’s hand and interlaced you fingers through his, something you subconsciously did whenever you noticed him chewing on his thumbnail.
Daryl rubbed his thumb over your knuckles affectionately. “Ya’ll be alright. I don’ have anythin’ planned for the weekend anyways so I’mma be at yer beck and call. Anythin’ ya need, okay?”
You smiled at him. However, before you could say anything, the flashing of another car’s lights caught your attention. The car was in the wrong lane; it was beelining straight for Daryl’s truck. “Shit! Daryl, look out!”
Your words barely registered in the air before Daryl was gripping the steering wheel, trying to swerve out of the maniac’s way. However, by doing so, Daryl lost control of the vehicle, and the car swerved away from the road and into the treeline.
The last thing that you remember was an immense feeling of dread. And then...
It all went black.
Tumblr media
Daryl gasped as he regained consciousness. His mind was hazy. His head was pounding. His body was aching, and he very quickly became extremely aware of the fact that he was pinned beneath a piece of debris. What had happened? Why the hell wasn’t he at home? Why was he still in his truck? Why was he pinned beneath his truck’s dashboard?
However, as his mind started to catch up with him, he became acutely aware of what had happened. Another car had been driving on the wrong side of the road, forcing him to have to swerve his truck. The same truck Merle had given to him years ago. The same truck he had used to pick you up from work.
Daryl’s eyes widened and he quickly looked over to his right, praying for the first time in his life. However, he had no idea if his prayers were answered when he saw the state you, the love of his life, were in. You were unconscious, with blood noticably gushing in rivers from your head.
“Shit, Y/N!” Daryl called to you hoarsely, a sharp pain shooting through his upper body when he tried to turn and reach you. He probably had a broken rib. A bruised one, if he was that lucky. “Y/N, oh my god. Darlin’? Peach, please wake up,” he called desperately. He tried his hardest to get to you, but with his body being pinned beneath the dashboard, his attempts were proven to be futile.
To say Daryl was terrified would be an understatement. Other than the pain shooting from his ribcage when he tried to move and the incessant pounding in his head, he was relatively fine. You, on the other hand, looked terrible. He didn’t know what to make of the fact that he couldn’t seem to wake you. His mind was wandering to places he didn’t like. He wouldn’t let his mind accept that you were dead. He wouldn’t. He couldn’t. He wouldn’t survive if you passed away. The mere thought of having to bury you sent his mind into a spiral, and he started hyperventilating. “Oh god, Peach, please talk to me. Please!”
“Sir, please calm down. Everything is going to be alright.”
The sound of someone’s voice had Daryl snapping his head back to look to his left. His cerulean eyes locked with what appeared to be a police officer, two firemen standing next to him. As Daryl’s mind started to process this new bit of information, he realized that a bunch of police vehicles and an ambulance surrounded the area, as well as a few news reporters. Fucking vultures, Daryl thought about the reporters as his eyes flickered back to the police officer. However, in his place, he found two paramedics, carrying a stretcher. Daryl had barely even realized that the dashboard had been lifted from him. However, before the paramedics could lift him onto the stretcher, Daryl was resisting.
“Nah, get her first,” Daryl basically pleaded with the men in front of him. “Get her first. Please. Take care’a her first.”
“Sir, please remain calm. Just focus on your breathing, okay?”
“Get her first!” Daryl exclaimed as he felt his breathing become more erratic. He was pushing the hands of the men off of him. “God, please. Don’ let her die. Please.”
One of the paramedics signalled something over his shoulder, and soon, the door to your side was being pried open and two other paramedics were tending to you and lifting you out of the car and onto a separate stretcher. Daryl let out a sigh of relief. Good. You were being taken care of. He could relax somewhat. However, his relief was short-lived when the paramedics started moving at a more frantic pace, his worry reappeared.
“What? What’s wrong?!” Daryl exclaimed in a panicked tone. Please don’t let her die, Daryl silently begged to whatever higher power was willing to listen to him.
“Sir, please remain calm. We’ll do everything in our power to ensure your wife’s well-being,” one of the paramedics reassured him. He then beckoned the other paramedic closer and together, began to lift Daryl onto his own stretcher.
Daryl didn’t fight back this time. There was no use to do so. You weren’t in the car anymore. You were being wheeled away to the ambulance. His only option at that moment in time was to co-operate. You’d want him to. He knew that.
As he was wheeled into the ambulance—thankfully the same one that you were in—he turned his head to look at you. The sight that beheld him made him want to burst into tears, but he didn’t. He needed to be strong and hope that your stubbornness prevailed in the face of death, that you’d flip death the bird and live to see another few decades.
You had to be fine. You just had to.
Tumblr media
“M’not sure. I think it was a blue car? Was definitely a blueish-black car. One’a the headlights had this weird ass green colourin’ to it and the hood had its paint scraped off. Was white underneath, I think. M’sorry. S’all I remember.”
“It’s okay. Every bit of information helps. We’ll try our best to track the perpetrator down,” a police officer—Deputy Henderson or Hallmark or something—told Daryl, sending him his version of a reassuring smile.
To be quite honest, Daryl could hardly believe that he had retained even that slightest bit of information on the asshole that had caused the car wreck. Everything had happened so fast. Everything had gone to hell in a mere second.
Daryl nodded at the officer and stuffed his hands into his pockets. “S’it alright if I go now?”
The deputy nodded in understanding. “We’ll be sure to keep you updated. Go be with your wife.”
With that, Daryl turned around and walked back towards room 207—the room where you were laying unconscious. As Daryl slowly lowered himself into the chair next to your bed, an action he had done since late the previous evening, ever mindful of his bruised ribs—one lucky thing that had come from the accident, a mere bruised rib—and leaned forward to gingerly take your hand in his, and that was the position he stayed in for nearly two hours. According to the doctors, you would be alright. You suffered from a broken leg, a really horrible concussion, multiple bruises and two deep cuts that needed stitches, but you were otherwise okay.
Daryl didn’t believe in miracles, but in that moment, there was no other word that could describe it. You had looked terrible when the paramedics had rolled you into the ambulance, and Daryl had been convinced that the injuries you had sustained would be far more lethal. It was truly a miracle that you had gotten of relatively okay. However, Daryl still got off better than you, and he felt terrible about that. He would much rather have been suffering in that bed in your place than have to witness you he hurt ever again.
“If you think any harder, you’ll burn a hole right through your head.”
Daryl’s head snapped up at the sound of your voice. A wave of relief crashed over him, and had it not been for the state you were in, he would have crushed you to him in a hug. However, he settled on tightening his grip on your hand, his cerulean blue eyes staring deeply into your own. “Yer awake,” he whispered, almost disbelievingly.
You nodded and sent him a small smile, albeit a little strained due to the pain that shot through your body when you tried to move. The drugs pumping through your system helped numb most of the pain, but not all of it, however. “I’m awake,” you confirmed, lacing your fingers through his, just like you had done the night before. However, once your eyes focused more, you could see the very prominent bruising on his face and around his eye, making you gasp. “Oh my god, Daryl... What happened?”
Daryl sighed and looked down at the bed, intentionally shielding his injury from you as to not make you worry more. “Car accident,” he began to explain in a quiet tone of voice. “Some asshole was drivin’ in the wrong lane. I had to swerve and then lost control’a the truck. We crashed into a tree.”
You frowned and looked at Daryl in concern. “Are you okay? That bruise—”
Daryl involuntarily let out a small chuckle at your concern. Leave it to you to worry more about other people than yourself, even when you were supposed to worry about yourself. Some things never change. “Yeah, m’fine, Princess. I promise.” Daryl stopped for a moment, swallowing at the lump that formed in his throat, before continuing. “M’so goddamn sorry, Sweetheart. I didn’t mean to cause all’a this.” He gestured to your battered and bruised body for added emphasis. “I was an idiot. I should’a jus’ drove into the other lane. I shouldn’t’a swerved into the fuckin’ treeline. M’so sorry. I—”
“Stop apologizing,” you cut him off with a stern yet gentle voice. “It’s not your fault, you hear me?” Daryl went to protest, but you continued before he could. “It is not your fault. You were placed in an impossible situation and you didn’t have time to think of a plan. You had to act fast, and you did. Imagine if you hadn’t swerved and we collided with that car. We would’ve been worse off. Sure, I’m a little broken and bruised in some places, but I’m fine. I’m alive. There’s absolutely nothing to feel guilty over. You understand?”
Daryl understood. He just didn’t really believe it. However, he wasn’t about to start an argument with you when you were in such a fragile condition. Besides, deep down, Daryl could admit that there was some truth to your words. But he wouldn’t be able to forgive himself until that asshole that caused this was caught for his crimes.
Daryl brought your hand up to his mouth, pressing a soft, tender kiss to your knuckles. “Okay,” he finally conceded. “M’jus’ real glad yer alive. When I woke up in the truck and saw ya passed out and ya wouldn’t wake up... I thought I had lost ya.” Unwillingly, a few tears fell from your husband’s eyes. He didn’t even notice.
Your heart ached for Daryl. Had the roles been reversed, and he was the one laying in that bed, you’d probably have reacted the same way. You gently rubbed your thumb over his knuckles, silently willing the man to look at you. “I’m here. It’s gonna take a whole lot more than that to take me away from you, I promise.” When Daryl didn’t respond, you took it upon yourself to attempt to lighten up the air. You could tell your husband needed a distraction. “You think they’ll give me an extension on that report? I’m not gonna have it done by Monday.”
By some stroke of luck, that had managed to get a small smile from Daryl. He shook his head and looked at you affectionately. “If they don’t give ya that extension, m’personally gonna shoot each and every one’a ‘em.”
You chuckled and sent him a small smile. “I love you so much, you know that?”
Daryl’s smile turned more genuine at your words. “I love ya more, Sunshine.” Before you could respond with your typical “impossible” or “I love you the most”, Daryl’s phone rang. It was the deputy from earlier. Frowning, he answered the phone. “Hello?”
You couldn’t hear what the other person was saying, but if Daryl’s suddenly relieved facial expression was anything to go off of, it was good news. The conversation was short and to the point, and when the call ended, you spoke up. “Who was that?”
“Was the deputy,” Daryl explained, a small smile on his face. “They got the son of a bitch.”
You smiled at him and beckoned him over for a hug. Daryl complied and very gently, almost as if you’d break under any sort of pressure, hugged you. Sure, the two of you would have to go and identify the man they had captured’s car, but there was no doubt in Daryl’s mind that the man responsible would soon be behind bars. For once, the legal system hadn’t failed him. You’d get the justice you deserve.
And for the first time since everything had gone down, Daryl was at peace.

No where he went could he find silence. Rattling cages, loud chants and even bottles breaking. The room he was currently in was poorly lit. And he could barely see the damage that has been done. The room was in hues of green with dirty white tile showers and sinks with rust on them. The ground was covered in stains of old blood that didn’t wash away from the polished cement. Hanging above his head were fluorescent making hissing noises like the glass would soon burst into flames and shatter across the floor. They were flickering too, he could see them clearly through the dirty mirror he was staring at himself through.
He was a mess himself and he had no clue where to start. His hair was drenched in sweaty locks sticking to his face in strange whimsical lines. There was blood dripping down over his brow piercing somewhere on his hair line but he couldn’t see it clearly yet. There was a large red mark on his rib cages but other than those couple injuries he considered himself pretty clean.
The water pressure from the faucet was poor and when he first turned it on the water had a brown tint to it. He let it run over his wet rag squeezing out the excess before cleaning the blood and sweat off his face. He leaned forward and splashed water onto his face and rubbed some into his hair to at least rinse his sweaty hair a little bit. From behind him he could hear the swinging doors part ways as someone walked in with a huge grin on their face. He waved a stack of papers in his hand smacking it against the palm of his other hand, business suit and shoes sticking out from this room like a sore thumb. His hair was slipped back in a nice style and he looked better than Jungkook did at the moment.
“You killed it out there,” Kim Seokjin said as he leaned against the counter on the wall, staring at Jungkook’s back and the red mark on his side, “He got a few hits in it seems.” As he said that he moved to stand again walking over to the ice machine next to the broken paper towel dispenser. He took the big ziploc bags off the machine and began putting ice into one of the bags. He took plastic wrap with him as he walked over to Jungkook and motioned for the guy to lift his arm.
“Don’t worry kid, your cut is good today,” Jin said, pressing the ice bag to Jungkook’s injured side before bringing the wrap over it and pulling it around his torso to hold the bag down. Jungkook just looked at the drop of blood still leaking from the cut on his forehead making him reach out for his rag again. The sink had a new stain of blood on it from where his rag had been running under the water. He looked at Jin through the mirror, “How much?”
Jin smiled, “Little more than a grand but I got a few more investors out there looking to see another fight. You’ll get there once you focus fully on training.”
“I’m not a fighter,” Jungkook grumbled as he turned quickly once Jin finished up. There was a small limp to his step as he walked to his gym bag looking for clothes to change into. Jin shook his head in disbelief, “Not a fighter? Then tell me what I just watched tonight.”
“I told you this already. I’m not interested in doing anything more than a couple fights here and there,” Jungkook said putting on a worn out, oversized gray t-shirt. Jin groaned in frustration, “I don’t get why you’re so against it. You can make much more money if we go big. You’ll be rich you know? I can already see your fights on pay-per-view. Just think about the money, that’s why you’re doing this aren’t you? Think about your family.”
“I am thinking about my family, that’s why I’m saying no,” Jungkook told him, changing into some black sweats and throwing a hoodie on. The bag of ice was slowly melting but at this point he didn’t care about how ridiculous he looked, “They’d kill me if they knew I was fighting again, I’m sorry man, but no.”
He took his cut of the money from Jin, slipping his hood over his head and hoisting his gym bag on his shoulder, “Call me.”
His leg ached making his entire walk out of the underground club to his car all the more slow. His car lights blinked as it unlocked and he chucked his bag in the backseat finally getting in and starting the engine. Jungkook’s neighborhood was far from being nice but it’s location close to busy streets made night life more active. He got to his apartment shortly after, sirens going off just outside his window where he could see flashing lights and the tops of old buildings.
Despite how late it was, and his need to be alone he couldn’t have that. Not when his phone began ringing. He winced, reaching into his pocket and taking it out. Once he saw the caller ID he debated ignoring it. Now isn’t the time for it when he’s got a pretty girl in his bed telling him you don’t want to go home. But he answered anyway, “Hello?”
“Hi honey, I know it’s late but um,” his mother stuttered, he could practically picture her fidgeting, “We’re behind on rent again. I wouldn’t be coming to you if I didn’t need to.”
Jungkook didn’t say anything, it was the same thing over and over every single time. He was in his bathroom now, pressing his phone to his ear, “When is it due?”
“Well it was due a couple days ago—“ “And what happened to what I sent you the other day?” Jungkook asked.
“Your father needed it for a, well, uh, I can’t remember but you’re my son, you’re more reliable than anyone else,” his mother said, making him roll his eyes. “So why’d you wait till now to tell me? Should I call your landlord and see how long it’s been overdue?”
“Yah, don’t be like that,” his mother begged, “You’re supposed to help your parents. That’s why you moved wasn’t it? Why are you even up so late? What have you been doing? Who were you with? Were you fighti—“
“I’m hanging up. I’ll send the money in the morning,” with a tired sigh he ended the call wincing once more when he reached up for the handle to his medicine cabinet.
His small rectangular window was his only source of light in the bathroom as he rummaged through his medicine cabinet but his first aid kit was empty. With a tired grunt he closed it back up and left looking around for his things pulling the melted ice bag away that was now just a puddle of water. He grabbed his wallet and keys before leaving his apartment once more, this time by foot.
After a five minute walk he found himself in front of a familiar convenience store and he went in, immediately going to the medical section. He probably shouldn’t be walking around with so much money on him but it was too late to worry about that.
“Oh my god hurry up, I’m literally scared for my life,” A girl squealed a couple aisles down and Jungkook tried to ignore her, “We should’ve just gotten it delivered.”
“And if they didn’t have what I wanted?” Another voice piped in, slightly more bearable than the previous one but with the same tone, “Besides everyone can hear you, y’know?” As if he’d been the one spoken to he looked up from under his hood, eyes softening for a fraction of a second as they met your stare. He was the first to look away once he caught his reflection on the fridge doors behind you filled with alcohol. There was a line of red down his forehead again and it made him duck down under the aisle top and look for what he needed.
“I don’t care who hears me, just get a bottle and let’s go. Jimin’s waiting,” The high pitched voice spoke again and Jungkook found a box of wound closure band-aids, pain killers, and icy/hot patches. You rolled your eyes at her looking over to the guy in the hoodie again, there was a red stain on his forehead that you noticed right away. A little after Jungkook found himself standing behind you in line. He didn’t expect to find such a sight in front of him. You were in a hot pink mini skirt and a white blouse that matched your heels. Your legs weren’t super long but your thighs were wider and so were your hips. It made the fabric of your skirt hug your curves in the best way possible.
You and your friend finished up with the cashier and he found himself twisting a lock of hair over the bleeding cut on his forehead to hide it. He could feel your eyes follow him for a moment as you left at that and he moved forward to the counter.
That night he healed his wounds in his studio apartment under the moonlight while you got in the back of a Porsche for a night drinking.
There was a stiffness in the air, like all the poise and class was just an act that was hard to maintain. At least that’s what Jungkook thought because as he looked around not a single person seemed to be what they tried so hard to appear. Now, he’ll admit he’s probably the most out of place here but that didn’t mean he couldn’t notice things. For instance, his partner wore an expensive suit with a shiny Rolex that demanded the attention of everyone in the room. Yet he still seemed gentle, far from intimidating which is what he’s so poorly tried to portray. A hand landed on his shoulder blade giving him a little shake as the man spoke, “Lighten up Jungkook, this is for you. You made me good money last week. Think of this as a sign of my appreciation.”
“Is that what this is?” Jungkook asked looking around the lounge room with expensive alcohol in crystal glasses and 100,000$ leather seats. He started to fix the cuff of his black button-up as he looked around some more. The men in here were either his age or way older, all in designer suits and watches. All the women were young, beautiful, lavished.
Just like the one who crossed his line of sight in a black, shimmery dress that was barely around mid-thigh. A silver, diamond charm bracelet on the wrist that matched every piece of jewelry on your body—from what he can see. You were far across from him, somewhere off with a group he couldn’t see well and the dim light applying a glow to you in particular. And yet he recognized you right away as the person from the store last night.
“I’ve treated you to dinner, I figured I might as well treat you to drinks too,” Seokjin said looking up from his phone just as Jungkook’s eyes snapped back to him, no longer focusing on the stranger. He released a sigh, “Alright, I want to talk about business. There’s another match this weekend. Two fights and a couple grand in your pocket. It’s short notice and you need time to recover but I was hoping to convince you.”
“Against who?” Jungkook asked tipping his glass of scotch back before placing it down on the small glass table between them two. Jin gave a nonchalant shrug of his shoulders, “Some new kid and Park Seungmin. What do you say? Do I get it set?”
“Ask me again after a few drinks,” Jungkook said. Music played behind them but not nearly as loud as a regular night club’s and there was a faint smell of cigar. He hardly paid attention to whatever other small talk the two of them made, he was too tired to say anything on his own. He hadn’t even wanted to come out with Jin at first. It’s not that he didn’t like the guy. He did. The problem was that he could not understand why Jin would want to be a part of the kind of life Jungkook has involved himself in. Kim Seokjin came from money, the good kind of money.
It meant he’s never had to worry about food in his stomach or if the electricity would be cut off. He’s never lied about christmas presents he never recieved or about not having lunch money. He’s grown in gated communities and trips abroad for the holidays. There’s no reason for him to be making dirty money just because he could. Jungkook didn’t hate him, he just couldn’t never fully trust that Jin had his best interest in mind. All he knows is that he’s the only one Jungkook can go to at the moment and he’s going to see how far he can get. The downside was that Jin wanted him to go the professional route. He wants to mentor him and get him in more official rings that could be broadcasted. His boxing was good, Jin saw potential so he badgered Jungkook about it nonstop. He didn’t listen though, he was fine fixing cars and had no intention in being a professional fighter.
If he had paid more attention to Seokjin instead of the marks on his hands he might have noticed the way Jin casually looked around the lounge room. He seemed stuck on someone behind him, brows furrowed together in concentration before his eyes relaxed momentarily. He looked back to Jungkook, “I’ll be right back. I think I see someone I know.”
Jungkook didn’t bother responding, merely waving him off as he looked down at his phone. The money he just earned from his last match was enough to send to his parents but he still needs more for rent and utilities. His job won’t pay him till the day after rent is due and he can’t ask for another extension. If he wants to cover the rest he’ll have to do the fights Jin asked of him. He’s still a little sore from the last fight but if he tries to get back on training he should be fine.
“Look at all the space we have, just take a seat,” Jin said finally making Jungkook look up as three people were filing into the booth. He noticed right away when you were making your way into the rounded booth pretty much inching closer to him. He’ll admit, up close you’re even more beautiful than he thought when he looked at you from afar. Now he can see your features better than he had at the store. What are the chances that he ran into a random stranger twice? And one he thought about on his walk home from the store as a short distraction?
You didn’t shy away from looking him over as you finally sat down just a few inches away from him. Jin flashed him a smile, “Jungkook these are some friends of mine. This is Taehyung, Jia and Y/n. Everyone meet Jungkook.”
Jin didn’t give much time for introductions when he waved over a server and ordered more drinks for the table. Jungkook took his chance to get a look at you again and for the first time that night, your eyes met his. He was the first to crack even the smallest hint of a smile. You had a pretty face, your cheeks slightly rounded but your eyes were what drew him in. He likes the curve of your waist and the way your thighs look soft to the touch. Your dress had been a little higher from the back than the front and he understood why. You were so physically attractive to him. You had wider hips and a slight tummy pouch. The top of your dress was easily filled out by your chest which spilled slightly from the top. Your collarbone still seemed to protrude and a diamond necklace with your name engraved rested prettily on it. Y/n, he remembers the girl next to you saying it the other night.
“So what are you guys doing here? Don’t you have better places to drink at on a Saturday?” Jin asked once drinks came and Jungkook looked over to where the conversation was. Taehyung gave a shrug of his shoulders looking to his two friends, “Just wanted to get a few good drinks in before going out. Are you two free? Want to come with?”
Jin shared a look with Jungkook, “Yeah? Let some stress out.” He wasn’t sure though, he’s already over exerted himself being out with Jin but at the same time now that it’s been brought up he wouldn’t mind. There was a shift on his side and suddenly you were leaning forward to look at his face.
“I agree, if you’re stressed then maybe you should come have drinks with us,” you said with a bright smile. That convinced him way too easily and before he knew it, he was leaving with the rest of you to a club. He stood behind you in line and when you were all inside he was at the bar right there with you.
“You look familiar,” you said bluntly turning away from the bar counter to look at him while your drinks were made. It caught him off guard at first before saying, “You do too.” Your smile was softer now but just as pretty and you batted your lashes, “I know where I’ve seen you.”
“Where?” Jungkook wanted to see if you actually did recognize him or if he just looked familiar to someone else you’ve seen. You pointed a finger at him, “The store. You were dressed all emo and stuff.”
“I was just wearing dark colors,” What you said made him smile a little before adding in, “But yes, I recognize you too. You were wearing pink.”
“Oh you even remember what i had been wearing? Was it because you liked it or because you liked me?”
“Can I say both?” Jungkook said with a lighter tone now. He found you attractive, alluring even, despite your snobbish tone. Your eyes narrowed in interest and you let your eyes travel from the faded scar on his forehead to the belt holding his jeans up. He was attractive in a way you couldn’t explain. An absolutely beautiful intimidating man.“I thought I knew all of Jinnie’s friends, how come I don’t know you?” You asked taking your drinks from the bartender.
He gave a small shrug, “I wouldn’t say we’re close, more like acquaintances. How do you know him?”
“Family friends.” “All of you?” You gave a nod of your head taking a sip from your drink just as he did. You looked down at the hand he had on the bar too. It was covered in ink and rings on his pretty fingers but the more you looked the more you saw. It included red knuckles with faded purple and brown marks like bruises. Jungkook noticed right away where your attention had drifted and he opted for moving his hand off and keeping it to his side.
“Can I be honest with you?” He asked suddenly trying to draw attention away from his hand and also speak some truth at the moment, “I think you’re beautiful.”
So he found himself closer to you later on in the night. His hand had even made itself to your hips as you sat on the stool scooted close to his. The two of you had completely forgotten about the group you were supposed to be with but they didn’t even attempt to intervene. If anyone seemed hesitant it was only Taehyung and Jin just brushed his worries away. He knew you well and you liked the fun, he knew Jungkook needed some fun even if it’s just for one night.
Later on in the night the two of you disappeared into a cab. He was more hesitant than you were to initiate any sort of intimate contact. Even inside the club he only had an arm around you and when he offered to take you home he was only hoping to spend a little more time with you before asking for your number. He didn’t expect for you to be on him in the back of the cab. Your lips were on his and he was kissing back eagerly, uncaring for the way the cab driver looked back at you.
“Just one address or two?” The driver asked as you pressed a kiss against Jungkook’s jaw leaving him breathless. His hand was on your curved back keeping you close as he barely had a chance to look over to the driver. You beat him to it when you pulled away for a quick second to mutter, “One address,” and went back to kissing him. He wasn’t complaining, he hasn’t done this in a while.
With work and all the matches he’s been in on top of training, he doesn’t have much time to go out and meet people who weren’t drunk placing bets on him. Even the women at the fights were drunk, a little more sleazy, not as clean and definitely didn’t have skin as soft as yours. His other hand found it’s way to your thigh, fingernails digging into the plump skin and he wanted to do more than just touch with his hands.
Jungkook’s not sure how it happened but they ended up at his place instead of yours, maybe because it was closer to the club or maybe because he gave it to the man first. Either way it was too late to argue about it when you were already urging him to get out. He quickly paid for the cab and was helping you, kissing you one last time as the cab drove off. He smiled sweetly, “You sure you’re okay with this?”
“Okay with what?” You asked wrapping your arms around his mid section leaning into him when his arms went around your waist. He cleared his throat looking down at you slightly more concerned now, “With this, with me…”
You smiled, “I wouldn’t be here if I wasn’t.” You’re not even asking questions. Not about his bruises or cuts or red knuckles, “Besides, I like you so are you going to take me upstairs or am I just gonna stay out here.” Jungkook took your hand now dragging you behind him inside his building trying not to get your expression. He didn’t want to see how you’d feel about his clearly run down apartment. Even this late at night there were a few tenants just sitting around on the stairs. He moved you in front of him staying close behind you to avoid you being stared at by some creep from the back. Once you were in his dark apartment it was immediate.
You didn’t even look around the place, letting him lead you to creaky twin sized bed he called his own and kissed him roughly, hands pulling at his shirt immediately as he made himself comfortable sitting next to you. You were on your knees looking taller than him deepening the kiss with your tongue now and he was gladly kissing back just as hard. His hands found their way to your legs, squeezing once again at your meaty thighs that pressed against each other with no gap between. The fullness of your figure was so damn tempting and it had his fingers inching under your short dress.
When you didn’t seem to object to his touch he went ahead and let his hands circle around your hips to the back where he could feel a very small pair of panties covering very little. Like your thighs, your butt was squishy making his fingers sink into it as he felt you up and it had him groaning into your mouth in want. His mouth trailed down your jaw, sucking gently against your neck as his hands continued feeling you up, your dress already up and around your wide hips as he played with your underwear. A finger slipped under it holding it out as he let his hand feel underneath.
A breath caught in Jungkook’s throat when your hand was pressing against his thigh now, long nail barely grazing his leg moving closer and closer to his growing member. You seemed just as impatient as he did and it made him wonder how long it’s been for you too. He doubts it’s been as long as him. You took him by surprise when you started unbuttoning his jeans with one hand and with ease and he was helping you move them out of your way. Following your lead when your hand began to palm him over his briefs, he did the same.
You moaned softly into his mouth as his hand pressed against your slicked heat from behind with his arm around your waist pressing you into his side. His head was aligned with your heavy chest and when he leaned it against the silky fabric, he could feel the softness of your breasts. His free hand couldn’t stop himself from reaching up and feeling you better. You wore a thin, flimsy bralette that hadn’t even been enough to conceal your nipples throughout the night but it made it easier for him to feel you better. The weight of your breasts was heavy in his hand, flesh spilling between his large fingers and you were so damn soft, everywhere. It made him want to sink into you, press his face between them and just feel your warmth.
Your breath hitches as he circles your clit, sending small shocks throughout your body. He moved your underwear out of the way, revealing your perfect cunt to his fingers with no barrier. Just as your hand snuck under his briefs, his middle finger was running between your folds, slowly letting more into your tight snatch. Even down between your legs were you soft, just as plump and warm. Your hand held his cock now, almost fully hard and with a gentle stroke you felt him hardening even more. Finally his long finger sinks in just as the strap of your dress slipped off your shoulders exposing more of your breasts to him. Without thinking he tugged your bra down making your tits bulge out from on top even more, “You’re so damn beautiful.”
He was being honest as he kissed the plump flesh feeling it bounce along his tongue and he just wanted to take a nipple into his mouth and suck. You didn’t answer verbally but he could physically feel the light squeeze of his cock on an upstroke and he was groaning around your nipple. His face was still rubbing against your breasts as his middle finger pumped in and out of your wet cunt lathering it in more slick and he took the chance to sink another finger in. You gasp, your tits bouncing against his face and he let them rub over his face while simultaneously hitting that spongy pleasure spot in your tight walls, stroking it everytime his fingers sank back in. You were still on your knees on his bed and he was still holding you against his side as you jerked off his cock but he wanted more.
Fingers still inside your pussy, he began to stand not moving your hand off his dick as he lightly pushed you back to lie down. His hand left your folds from behind and slipped it between your thighs again from the front. His pace quickens, and he uses his weight to hold you down, twirling your thick buds with his tongue. You breathed heavily feeling the twitch of his member when your thumb ran over the slit in his tip over and over again.
Without thinking, and probably too rough, his hands were leaving your breasts and pussy to pull at the fabric of your dress. It’s been teasing him all night and he needed it gone, so that’s what he did. The fabric was no match for the rough yank he did on it making it tear open and he was harsh with the way he yanked it off your body groaning at the sight.
He stood taking his jeans and shirt off as you undid your bra kicking it off exposing large breasts to his hungry eyes. His hands run down your middle, the soft chub on your ribs and stomach sinking his finger in and he was staring down at you with awe, “You’re so beautiful.”
“You already said that, I want to know what you’ll do to show it to me,” you teased wiggling your hips when his hand went to pinch at them, squeezing and groaning at the feel. He could feel a bit of your hip bone but it was mostly covered in plumpness that made his mouth water. Your hips were good for squeezing and he wanted to take you. Suddenly, realization hit him like a truck.
“I—I don’t have a condom.”
“I’m on the pill,” you said already reaching between your bodies at his hard clock begging for attention, “As long as you’re clean and pull out.” He gave a brief nod of his head capturing your lips with his as you lined his dick up with your heat and did the honor of taking him. You moaned into each others mouth as he stopped at the ring of nerves that needed a bit more stretching. You were tight, he felt all the soft walls of your cunt squeeze his thick member as he sank in with a groan, squishing against you, breasts against his chest.
“Oh God,” you moaned against his lips at the first real thrust of his cock into your wet pussy and his hand was sliding down to grip your ass while the other was on your breasts. He squeezed both in time with a second thrust, still testing the waters before doing it again, quicker and rougher now.
His head rested against your neck, moaning your name softly, “So fucking beautiful, all of you, fuck Y/n.”
“You feel so fucking good,” he growled into your skin leaning down to take a fat tit into his mouth matching each lick of your nipple with a rough thrust. Suddenly he’s lifting himself up, hands leaving your sides to press against the bed on either side of your head. He looked down at your naked body licking his lips, slowly bringing his hips back before slamming into you with force that had your tits jiggling and his lips parted at the sight, doing it again so it could happen once more.
Jungkook lets out a long exhale as you continue to cry out his name making him work his lean hips, thrusting in and out of you with purpose.
“Jungkook,” you moaned, hands holding his sides as he fucks you, tight abdominal muscles flexing along with the veins leading to his dick all the way from his navel. The position only lasted a moment before he was laying his full weight on you again wanting to feel you pressed against him, body shaking along his.
“I’m so close,” you groaned when he gripped your ass, not being gentle in the way he squeezed, shaking it a bit and using it to fuck your pussy back into his cock, “Let me cum.”
“Fuck,” he slams himself into you feeling his entire body shudder but he was holding off, “Cum, fuck, cream my cock right now.”
“Oh God,” he groaned against your skin when you did just that, fingers curling as your release hit moaning beautifully into his ear and his body shook slightly. He was gentle but quick in the way he pulled out of you, your orgasm wavering as your slick leaked out of your folds. His cock was on your pubic bone now, spurts of creamy semen spilling onto you, covering you in his cum. His hand was on your knee for support but it was no use.
He was dead weight on top of you, but you don’t mind—you brush your fingers through his hair, giggling when you feel his soft lips kiss your breast, “You’re amazing.”
You felt his breathing begin to get uneven and you wrapped a leg around him continuing the brush of your fingers, caressing him since he seemed to need it. You held him in your arms as he clung to you. Now, you’ll admit, at this time you’d start getting your clothes again and find your things to leave. Maybe you would’ve already had a scheduled Uber but you weren’t doing any of that—and it wasn’t because he tore your dress in half. “You made me feel so good,” you whispered softly into his ear and it made him hum in appreciation, eyes shut slightly. He never realized how much tension he’d been holding onto without release until now that you held him.
You were naked and sticky, even sweaty, but that didn’t stop you two from snuggling after sex, his gentle lips leaving soft kisses along your neck tiredly as his eyes shut in relaxation. Like that, you both let sleep take over and you were warm in each other’s arms.
The sun shined brightly against your sleeping face. You squeezed your eyes shut some more but it did little to keep the light away. You decided to move, roll over and hide your face in one of your many pillows but as you tried to, you nearly fell. A yelp escaped your lips, face inches away from the floor as two arms caught you by the waist. Jungkook was half asleep but alert as he looked over your tired form. You fell back onto the twin sized bed pressed against Jungkook’s chest staring at your surroundings.
In better light and a clearer head you had a better chance to look around his apartment. It was smaller than you pictured when you were lying underneath him. You just didn’t realize it was this small. You’re not sure if you’ve ever been to a place that looked like this. His bedroom, kitchen and living room all in one space with ripped wallpaper and broken cabinets. Jungkook seemed to stiffen under you when he noticed where your mind was going.
Last night was… how should he put it without sounding so dramatic? He just felt very appreciated and not just his body but also the things he had to say. You paid very close attention to what he felt and it was more than anyone has in a while. Sure, the fighting gets him attention but not for anything good. It was abuse and exploitation. That made him hate himself but what he experienced last night was lively. He wouldn’t mind getting this feeling because of you again except you couldn’t be any more opposite and that’s what had him skeptical.
“You okay?” He asked suddenly, nervous because you have yet to say anything after your abrupt awakening and he’s itching to know what you think. His shabby apartment looked even worse than he imagined. You just gave a single nod and that made him anxious now, sliding a little out from under you trying not to pay attention to the way you were both still naked. He released a quiet sigh, “If you want to go home now, it’s okay, you can tell me.”
It was morning anyway, he’s not sure what he would expect differently. You seemed to snap out of your own thoughts turning as best as you could to lay on your stomach over him. He looked down at you with an expression you could only read as dejected, sullen or tired even. Your chest rests on his chest as you look up at him, “And what if I don’t want to go home yet?”
Jungkook couldn’t hide the look of surprise on his face when you ran your hand over his chest turning to look at him, “How about a shower together?”
You stared at the man in front of you expressionless, or well, you were trying to be. He, on the other hand, was open with you. A knowing smile on his face with brows raised in amusement. He was even leaned back in his chair with his arms crossed over his chest, head tilted to the right just slightly waiting for you to speak.
“You’re starting to creep me out,” You said with a roll of your eyes as you looked over the roof, city life thriving about sixty stories below you. Jin cleared his throat, “I was wondering if you had anything to say to me.”
“About?” You asked as the waitress came back with your food. You were seated across from Jin at some high end restaurant for lunch. It sat on the roof of some luxury hotel and it’s where you two decided to meet between your classes. You had a feeling you knew what this was about but you weren’t about to give in. A day and a half was spent in Jungkook’s presence. You didn’t even go to class the following day, instead you stayed in his apartment and did absolutely nothing.
“You’re a vixen, y’know? You sank your claws into Jungkook and got him, I applaud you,” Jin said making you roll your eyes again. “What are you talking about? You’ve got a crush on him or something?”
“I’m just saying, I’ve been trying to get that guy to let loose but all he does is push every chance away,” Jin told you as he picked at his plate. Your eyes narrowed leaning forward against the table, “How do you two know each other, anyway? He didn’t really say.”
Jin sneered, “Of course he didn’t. He doesn’t like it.”
“Doesn’t like what? No, don’t tell me,” you shook your head. You wanted to know because you were definitely interested. But was it your business? Jin smacked his tongue, “It’s nothing serious.”
“I’m his manager of sorts, but also an investor?” Jin said with a shrug taking a big bite, “He’s a boxer, like in the ring with glo—“
“I obviously know what a boxer is,” you said clearly annoyed with your older friend who just chuckled knowing he was getting under your skin. You were curious now, “Besides, what does it matter to you? You work in a law firm.”
Jin groaned as if he had a reason to be annoyed with you when clearly he didn’t, “I’ve got a few interests, alright? Sketchy? Maybe, but it is exciting. I met him a year ago when I was watching a boxing match. He was new and he was good, a lot of strength and control. I just have this idea that he can make it big and I can get him there. It’ll be a give and take. I already make good money off his fights from my cut and imagine what a bigger audience can do?”
“So what you’re saying is Jungkook… he makes money from boxing?” You asked and he just shook his head no. “No, well kinda? His family has a lot of debt—“
“Stop, stop talking,” you covered your ears suddenly, “I don’t want to hear about his private stuff unless it’s from him. I get it. You kinda work together?”
Jin rolled his eyes, “Yes but that’s not what I wanted to talk about. I want to know what transpired you to go with him the other night. I didn’t peg muscular, tatted, brooding men as your type.”
“I didn’t either,” you said honestly, “But I don’t know. I saw him one time before that at a store and he had been bleeding from his forehead. I think that’s why I was curious at first.”
“And now?” Jin asked making your brows furrow. “What do you mean now?”
He sighed, “I mean are you curious still? Jungkook is a good guy, great guy even but it wouldn’t work Y/n. Your parents would kill you if they found out you were seeing a guy like him. He’s not… he hasn’t had the same privileges as you and it just wouldn’t look good. He’s a great kid but he’s got real struggles that you wouldn’t understand.”
“Hypocrite much?” You asked with a tilt of your head, “Like you would understand those struggles more than me? Are you going to tell him this too or just me because I don’t think Jungkook would appreciate it.”
“Jungkook’s smart, I’m sure he understands why it wouldn’t work. You’ve been to his place I assume, you had some thoughts on it I know. But at the end of the day, I’m loyal to you as a friend more than Jungkook. I’ve known you since you were five and I’m looking out for your best interest.”
“I don’t need you to Jinnie,” you rolled your eyes as you pushed your finished plate away. He let the topic drop with a reluctant sigh. He really did appreciate Jungkook as a person and even as a friend of sort but at the end of the day… what they had never went beyond business. The dinner the other night was to discuss another tournament, what happened after was a spur of the moment. He had respect for Jungkook for what the kid has been through but that’s what makes him wary. He’s seen how mad he can get, how little he actually has to support himself and how battered his life was. You wouldn’t fit in anywhere and Jin cares about you too much to let you fall for someone like him.
“Besides, I’m seeing him later after class,” you said brightly. Jin couldn’t argue with you anymore, he just wanted you to know what he thought. He knew Jungkook was a good guy, he just didn’t think he was right for you. Suddenly you flashed him a bright smile, big puppy dog eyes and a bat of your lashes, “You’re treating me to lunch right?”
“You probably have more money than me Hotel Heiress,” Jin said with a scowl but you didn’t let up. Your bottom lip curling down, “But you invited me.”
“Aish,” he rolled his eyes at you as he took his wallet out, “You’re so annoying.” “Thank you Jinnie, you’re the best.”
He took you back to campus after lunch and you went to your last couple of classes. Taehyung waited for you outside your last class, “Jia and I want to go shopping, you coming?”
“No, Jungkook is waiting for me outside,” you told him reading over Jungkook’s text telling you where he was. Taehyung’s brows furrowed, “Jungkook? The guy from the other night? Don’t tell me you’re seeing him again.”
“Fine I won’t tell you.” “Y/n I’m serious, I don’t know him but the other night something seemed of—Y/n!”
“Bye!” You sang as you saw Jungkook’s black, tinted car. He was outside waiting for you and a smile spread across his face. He pulled you in for a hug, “Aren't you cold?”
“Shivering,” you said with trembling teeth and he helped you into his car ignoring the rise of your skirt. Once he was inside he kicked the heat up, “So where do we go?”
He was nervous. He hasn’t seen you in a couple days and now that it’s the weekend he’s not sure what he should do. Is this a date? Do you even want to date him? You didn’t ask him anything over the time you were at his place but he could tell you wanted to. Would you run away when you found out the extent of his struggles? You bit your bottom lip in thought, humming as you tried to think of something, “Lets go to my place.”
So he followed the directions to the other side of the city where he’d dropped you off just days ago. He only got to look at the outside of the skyscraper hotel with your last name displayed in metal letters under the hotel’s name. The inside was gorgeous, marble everywhere with white clay walls and curved edges that gave the hotel a seamless image. Even the furniture was the color of the walls and the only pop of colors were deep green and shades of brown. He let you drag him into the elevator where you pushed for the top floor putting your key in to unlock the floor and he traveled the hundred stories up.
The second the elevator to your floor opened Jungkook’s breath hitched. He didn’t realize you had the entire floor to yourself until he walked in and saw the various doors to different amenities all just for you ranging from private gym to an entire room larger than his apartment dedicated to shoes and handbags. You walked down the hall to the main living space and he continued to look around. Large kitchen, large windows that looked over the skyline with a pool on the balcony.
“So this is your place?” He asked obviously as you went to your bedroom which, once again, was bigger than his apartment with a king sized bed and canopy. You gave a quick nod of your head disappearing into your closet to change into something warmer, “18th birthday present.”
He was too nervous to even sit on your bed but you came out all joyous jumping on him and tackling him down on it. Immediately, a jolt of pain shot up his side making him wince and you jumped to get off his lap. His hands gripped your waist keeping you in place and your brows furrowed in concern. You reached for his shirt when he held your wrist to stop you but you pulled it up anyway. Jungkook’s face heated when you stared at the faded bruise on his side. It was worse than it was when you two had sex, it was more brown now with yellow around the edges since it was old.
Your finger just barely brushed over it enough that it didn’t hurt but he still flinched at the contact making you frown as you straddle his groin, “You were fighting?”
His eyes widened at first but relaxed when he realized who would’ve told you. Maybe you were closer with Jin than he thought. Lord knows he only sees Jin when it comes to the business they’ve involved themselves with. You, on the other hand, were at Jin’s societal level and probably saw him at galas and fashion shows. So Jin told you about the fighting and you still let him into your home? Without another word you shimmied off his lap and he could feel his heart drop. Maybe you were rethinking things. Maybe you saw that it was a bad idea to get involved with him and now you’re backing out. He wouldn’t blame you after seeing the way you lived compared to him. He expected you to kick him out, not to lean down and press a soft kiss on his ribs, “Did you at least win?”
Jungkook gave a slight nod of his head in response and you smiled moving to lay on the bed now right next to him. You sat your head up on your palm looking over to him, “Do you like boxing?” He shook his head honestly and it made you frown, “So why do it then?”
He was quiet for a moment, “I’m good at it and it’s easy money.” “This is easy money?” you pointed to his bruise but before he could answer you were backtracking, “I mean… I’m just trying to understand but you don’t have to tell me anything if you don’t want to.”
Jungkook couldn’t help but lean forward to press a gentle kiss on your lips before wrapping an arm around your waist pulling you into his side, “Why are you so perfect? Aren’t you a little scared? I’m not a good guy.”
“Why? Because you beat the shit out of people for money? Oh yeah you’re such a thug,” you rolled your eyes, “Besides, I’m not perfect, I’m actually a spoiled bitch.” He laughed along with you snuggling in your bed despite the sun still being out.
“To answer your question from earlier, the only reason why I do this is to help out my parents. They’d kill me if they found out but they’ve got a lot of debt and I want to help them how I can. I dropped out of school my final year and I went straight to work,” Jungkook began to open up, “I didn’t want to leave school but we needed the money so I had to get to work. There weren’t many options where I’m from so I packed up my shit and came here.”
“Wasn’t that hard?” You asked cutely and he could see it in your eyes that even if you didn’t understand, you wanted to. He nodded, “Yeah, I slept on a lot of couches at first. I couldn’t get a good job since I didn’t have a diploma but I started working as a mechanic and was able to get the place I’m at now for cheap if I fix maintenance problems myself.”
“I met this guy who told me he knew how I could make quick money and it was just supposed to be a one time thing but I can’t support myself and my parents with just the car shop.”
“And Jin wants you to be a legitimate boxer? Like one of those lightweight champion fighters?” You asked making him crack a smile as you laid on his chest. He began to play with your hair, “Yeah and I just don’t get it. I’m not going to get far. I don’t how to play by all the rules. I don’t think it’s worth the risk. For now I’m fine working at the auto shop.
“But, you don’t want to see if it actually works out?” You asked curiously, “And would you want to work as a mechanic forever?”
“I’m not thinking about forever, I’m thinking about the present and what gets me by. When I get a chance to live comfortably then I’ll look at the bigger picture but I still don’t think it would be boxing.” He was honest and a little blunt but he didn’t mean to sound that way. He was just being realistic. He knows he’s living paycheck to paycheck and still coming up short but it’s what he needs to do right now. He can’t dedicate himself to a career where he doesn’t get paid frequently unless he trains and devotes all his time.
You didn’t say anything for a moment and it made him wonder if he made you uncomfortable. It’s not that he thinks you had it easy growing up but clearly you’ve grown up with a totally different mindset and endless possibilities. After a while before he could backtrack you spoke, “I see what you’re saying, sorry,” you mumbled and he seemed to squeeze you in his hold. He shook his head no though you couldn’t see him, “Don’t apologize. You were just curious.”
‘So can I go to see you?” You weren’t even done saying what you wanted to say when Jungkook was muttering a few ‘no’s’ making you turn to face him now still laying on him. You went to move back and his arm stayed loose around you but let you move, “Why not?”
“Because it gets really ugly and it’s dangerous. It’s not something I want the girl I’m into to see,” he said mixing in a confession and putting it out there for you to understand what he’s on. He absolutely had no desire to get close to anyone romantically but now that he has, he’s really interested. He finds you attractive but it wasn’t just that. You seemed to listen to him and though you could, you don’t judge him— or at least he didn’t hink you do. You looked at him with an annoyed expression but it was playful, “But I want to see you.”
You didn’t directly say you were into him but you did lean in for a kiss letting his lips meet yours softly. You released a soft moan when his arm tightened back around you turning his body slightly to kiss you better. The two of you pulled apart but his hand was still cupping your face gently and he looked down at you. You opened your mouth to say something but he immediately shut you up with another kiss before pulling away again, “So pl—“ Then another kiss on your lips and you couldn’t help but laugh when he did it again quickly now, “Please let me wa—okay!—“ kiss after kiss on your lips so you wouldn’t keep talking about seeing him fight.
He wouldn’t let you.
Or so he thought. Jungkook held your hand tightly as he led you through the thick crowd watching the fight from before. You looked around anxiously now. It was louder than you imagined, dirtier, rougher. It reeked of alcohol and dirty money. You could feel the stares on you when you walked past and though it made you uncomfortable, you felt a little better with Jungkook there.
He sensed your unease because he pulled you closer until his arm could wrap around your waist, pressing his face against yours to whisper in your ear, “You still okay?”
“Mhm,” you nodded leaning in to give him a quick kiss as he smiled, “Alright, I gotta get ready.”
“Jungkook! My man, you’re late,” a guy with a huge grin on his face approached. You ignored the way he seemed to look at your figure but Jungkook was pulling you closer to his side than before. Jungkook just smiled, “Things came up.”
“I see that,” the guy’s eyes stopped at your legs, then your hips, and chest, “I’m Hoseok by the way.”
“Y/n,” you answered in a snobby tone as you glared back at him. He was way too open with staring you down when Jungkook was there. Jungkook thought the same and it had him pulling you along, “I’ll be out in a bit.”
It was still strange to see you in the locker room with him. The same grimy room he was in last time when he was beaten pretty bad and still came out on top. You tried to hide your disgust but he could see it in the way you avoided touching anything. Jungkook cleared his throat, “I can take you back to the car, if you want.”
“Why would I want to leave?” You asked moving closer to him as he attempted to wrap his fists up by himself. Jin should be here soon to help him with that but until then you’ll just watch him get ready. He looked over to you, in your skirt and sweater making him even more nervous. He asked you to dress down, not because he didn’t love seeing your pretty outfits, but because he didn’t want anyone to get any ideas with you. He’d hate to hop out of the ring so people wouldn’t come at his girlfriend. It still feels weird to say that. Never did he imagine he’d get swept up so quickly and yet here you were, absolutely breathtaking and sweet.
His breath hitched so suddenly, your arms wrapped around his exposed torso in a back hug pressing a kiss to his shoulder plate. He turned his head to look back at you and you took the opportunity to kiss him on the lips.
“Sneaky little snake Y/n.”
You pulled away with a roll of your eyes. Jungkook looked to the swinging doors as Jin walked in. Jin glared at you, “What are you doing here? And why are you dressed like you’re going to a summer Christmas party?”
“I’m covering up,” you said only answering his last question as you let go of Jungkook to give Jin a spin, “Don’t I look pretty?”
“You always do,” Jin said with a shrug as Jungkook’s eyes narrowed in his direction at that comment. He still has to get used to the fact you’re very close with Jin. Tame his jealousy and be less serious all the time. His friend seemed to be thinking the same since he rolled his eyes, “Don’t look at me like that. Why’d you bring Y/n to a place like this?”
“Because I asked,” you said when Jin stepped up to help Jungkook put his gloves on. He scoffed, “And Jungkook is fine just doing whatever you ask?”
When Jungkook didn’t say anything Jin released an annoyed huff of breath as he finished up with the wrappings. Jungkook wasn’t paying attention to anyone but you as he lifted his gloved hands to reach for you. Jin looked between you two muttering something under his breath as he walked out the door giving you two a minute. Jungkook put the gloves on your hips as you moved between his legs looking down at him from where he was sitting on the bench. Your arms rested on his shoulders as he looked up at you with rounded eyes. He leaned forward resting his forehead on your chest, “I’m happy you’re here tonight.”
“Really? I thought you told me no,” you said playfully and he looked up again, still resting on you, squeezing you even closer to him. “But it’s nice to have someone there for me.”
You didn’t know what to say so instead your hands slid up from his shoulders to his face and you leaned down to meet his lips. He kissed back immediately, trying to touch you more but his gloves didn’t let him. It was short and sweet only interrupted when Jin opened the door back up.
He looked to you, “Come on, we’ll find somewhere to be, let Jungkook concentrate before the fight. He’s going up against a new guy first.”
Jungkook gave you a kiss goodbye and you told him good luck and left. You stood with Jin at the closest seats to the ring and he was trying to let you know what might happen tonight.
“So there’s two fights for him. The first will probably be the easiest but if he’s too worn out in the second he might not win. Now, he’s got a winning streak and a lot of people don’t like that so they’ll be fighting dirty tonight,” Jin told you honestly, “A lot of people are mad they’re losing money to him and there’s very few rules here. There’s a couple illegal moves but a lot of it is free game so beware he could get seriously hurt. Hence why I want him to go the professional route but he won’t, his family doesn’t want him fighting. If anyone talks to you don’t even entertain it, alright?”
“Yes dad,” you said, though you were definitely feeling anxious now. Music was loud but yelling was louder. It reeked of sweat, alcohol, blood. It was dirty and crowded and you could feel people looking at you. There were very few females here and they all glared at you too. Jungkook told you to not even bring your purse but you still felt like you needed to keep your possession close.
When Jungkook came out in just a pair of boxing shorts and shoes, mouth guard in looking like a completely different man than the one you kissed just moments ago, you saw him in a new light. Reality was hitting you that he was very much an intimidating man. When he passed you by he didn’t shy away from going to you for a good luck kiss before jumping over rope to get into the ring. When he kissed you it only made more heads turn.
You didn’t pay much attention to what the ref[?] was saying because it was so overwhelmingly loud in here. Practically overstimulating you and suddenly you weren’t so thrilled being here. Jungkook looked scary but so damn attractive, jumping from foot to foot getting his blood pumping as the other guy came in. He was roughly the same size as Jungkook, just less muscle. “You’re in for a show,” a voice spoke as someone plopped down next to you. You looked over to Hoseok who now sat on your left while Jin sat on your right.
“How much?” Jin asked him and they leaned over you to discuss betting amounts. When the bell rang you paid your full attention to the scene before you. Since this wasn’t such a professional fight there were less rounds to go through and the first knockout was a win. Only three rounds and he needed to score high on two to win.
The first round wasn’t a clear win. Jungkook did the first hit making the guy stumble back and you understood why everyone was so energetic. This was nerve wracking and everyone shouting for the one they wanted to win was getting to you. It was during the second round when things began to heat up. This time the other guy did the first hit, a hard fist to Jungkook’s bruised side but he didn’t even flinch. He delivered a harsh blow to the guy’s jaw giving him an uppercut that sent him stumbling against the ropes.
His body slipped to the floor, blood dripping from his mouth and your hands clasped together as the referee counted the seconds for knockout. The guy attempted to get back up but only kept slipping down on the floor. When the whistle blew the round was given to Jungkook. You clapped happily now making him look over to you with a small smile. He was already drenched in sweat, long hair stuck around his face and clearly out of breath. Jin got up with a bottled water and towel taking it to Jungkook as they talked about something you couldn’t here.
“What do you think so far?” Hoseok asked you as the third round started and your eyes locked in on the fight. You have a shy shrug, “It’s… new.”
Hoseok chuckled, “I bet it is, you’re the only one I’ve ever seen wear Cartier here. Better to take it off before someone else sees it.” You nodded but you didn’t take it off in case you’d lose it. Instead you hid it under your sweater now. The third round was quicker, it took one blow for the guy to fall and laughter rose around you.
By the end of the fight, Jin was hurrying you up to the locker room assigned to Jungkook again. Jungkook was already at the sink examining the damage but when he saw you he hid his bruised side. You didn’t even have to say anything when he was reaching for you, “You okay? Is this too much? I’ll have Jin take you to the car, did anyone say anything to you? I’m sorry, this is probably jus—“
You shut him up with a kiss, his body immediately relaxing into it as his head tilted to the side to deepen it with his tongue. Jin audibly gagged behind you, “I miss Jungkook when he was depressed. Now all you two do is eat each other’s faces off. How you feeling Kook?”
“Good, nothing major,” Jungkook cleared his throat awkwardly when Jin passed him an ice bag. The break till the next fight was really short. The guy he would be going up against had already fought his contender when Jungkook arrived. Once they have their fight and marks are tallied they’ll know who wins. If he wins he’ll be able to pay off some of his loans before the loan sharks come knocking on his door again. He’ll send money for his parent’s bills. He’ll pay his car payment, utilities, buy groceries, and take you out on a date. It won’t be as nice as you’re probably used to but hopefully he can do something. He’ll show you that even if he doesn’t have the kind of money you do, he’ll do anything for you to see how strongly he feels.
Having a support system in the audience cheering him on was motivation to win and he promises he’ll win for you. You wanted to watch him fight so he’ll give it his all.
You got back to your seats once the warning for the next fight came. Jin clutched your hand, “You’re holding up better than I thought. You’re usually more high maintenance. You don’t even like going to the gym because it makes you sweat.”
“But sweat looks so good on Jungkook,” you answered looking at Jungkook, “Now shut up. The fights about to start.”
“You think this guy’s got a chance against Seungmin?”
“Nah, he’s not that focused tonight. Probably because his bitch is in the crowd.”
Your brows furrowed at who was talking about you. Jin shook his head when you tried to turn and look, “Just ignore it.”
The first round started heavy. Jungkook’s opponent threw the first blow right in his face. His head whipped back as he was hit in the nose and you visibly winced. Jungkook didn’t feel too much pain from it, probably due to adrenaline, but it made his eyes water and blur for a second giving the guy a chance to hit him in the gut.
The crowd was going crazy around you as Jungkook delivered three hits in but his body collapsed to the floor. The guy had hit the back of Jungkook’s head that had him stumbling down on the floor in pain. You gripped Jin’s arm, “Isn’t that illegal?” He only shook his head, “Not here.”

You waited to see if he’d get up but he couldn’t lift his head. Your leg was bouncing anxiously and before you knew it, the round ended with a knock out. Jin got up immediately going to Jungkook’s aid and he looked worse for wear. The round was given to the other guy and before you could even think you were walking to the rope. Jin was wiping blood off Jungkook’s face grabbing the back of his head checking for blood.
“He’s got a heavy hand,” Jungkook panted out of breath feeling his ears drum. Jin held his head, “Block your fucking head Jungkook. He’s playing extra dirty, he’s going to keep going for it if you’re already injured.”
“Jungkook,” you said softly making him turn, finally noticing you and suddenly he was sitting up on the stool. He sniffled, “Yes baby? Are you okay? I promise I’m fine, if it’s too much don’t look—“
“Fighter’s ready!”
Jin gave Jungkook a kiss on his forehead, “Two rounds. You gotta win this and then you get a pay grade. Alright?” Jin led you back to your seat before you could even talk to Jungkook more but maybe it was for the better.
Jungkook was tired, worn out from the last round and the fight before. His opponent at least had resting time after his fight since Jungkook’s fight was after. Jungkook didn’t get as long of a break before he was thrown into the last fight. He stood in position for the bell to ring but the guy across from him was jittery.
A smirk on his face as he looked over the audience before he snickered, “Brought your toy along? I like her, might just take her from you.”
Jungkook tried to ignore it, jaw tense as he reeled in his anger. The guy was a shit talker, he wanted to get in Jungkook’s head but he won’t let him. He just wants Jungkook to lose focus but he won’t. The second the bell rang Jungkook gave the first hit, getting Seungmin right in the stomach before giving him another hit on the side of his head.
You watched anxiously, Jungkook seemed to have felt better enough to fight back stronger. Hoseok looked over to you, “The kid’s got it, he’ll win.”
You’re not worried about him winning. You’re worried about how hurt he’ll be after and you understand now why Jungkook didn’t want you here. He was strong, he could fight and hold his own but watching him get beat black and blue was heartbreaking. But you couldn’t look away. You were at the edge of your seat, there was blood dripping down Jungkook’s eyes painting it red but he kept fighting, he stayed on his feet even when he was backed into a corner. He blocked his head with gloves and when Seungmin least expected it he punched his nose then jaw. The opponent’s body whipped with the force of the hit and though he tried grabbing rope, he crashed to the floor.
Jungkook was jumping from foot to foot keeping himself moving as the ref counted down to knockout and he released a breath. He sat on the stool in the corner of the ring tipping his head back staring up at the hanging lightbulb over them. They’re tie. This last round will declare the winner of this fight and it has to be him. He can get a few hundred and though most will go to bills he swears he’s going to try and take you out.
Jin was in front of him again, this time he pressed an Enswell to the cut above his brow, “Last round, it’s yours man, I can feel it. You’re faster, you’ve got more coordination. How’s your eye?”
“Hurts like a bitch,” Jungkook confessed through his mouth guard. He turned to look for you but stopped, wincing when Jin wiped the blood away. The cold metal against his skin was numbing the pain but he could still feel his eye swelling, “How’s Y/n?”
“Fine, focus on your opponent not your girlfriend,” Jin said harshly but he only meant it out of concern. He wanted Jungkook to be focused so he wouldn’t get so roughed up in the last round.
Now it was the last round. He shifted his mouth guard to fit better as he stared at Seungmin. He watched his head turn to look at you, eyes wandering up the expanse of your legs to your skirt. His words were mumbled due to the guard but he could understand him clearly, “Yeah, I’ll take her as my prize. She’ll look good as my bitch, bet she’s got a fat ass t—“
Jungkook shoved him, the crowd growing louder as the ref blew the whistle, pulling them apart. The guy only laughed glaring at Jungkook, “Look real nice with her legs spread just for me. She tight?”
The whistle blew.
The first throw Jungkook took didn’t land, it was too blinded by rage that Seungmin touched him first backing him up into the corner again with his larger build, “Bet she likes to fuck dirty with that body.”
Jungkook struggled, moving too quick to cause real damage and block his eye at the same time. Seungmin kept going, “You think she’ll put up a bigger fight than you? I like the figh—“
His breath was knocked out of his body when Jungkook threw a direct punch to his diaphragm making him stumble back. As he clutched his chest Jungkook took the opportunity to hit where his kidney should be, bringing the guy down to his knees in pain.
You were on your feet with everyone else cheering Jungkook on unbeknownst to what was being said about you. Though Seungmin was down, anytime he tried to get up Jungkook would stop him. With an uppercut, Jungkook punched right at Seungmin’s ear sending a ring down his ear drums and he fell to his side.
But Jungkook didn’t stop. The gloves made it hard for him to really get his hands on him but he wasn’t done. He didn’t even care about the round. He cared about beating the fuck out of this piece of shit for talking about you, so he did. He got over the guy, straddling his curled position as Seungmin blocked his own head from being hit. There were no rules outside of no weapons, and no weighted gloves so he wasn’t stopping until he was dragged off of him.
“Jungkook!” Jin called out when Jungkook brought a fist back and hit over the man’s hands getting as much of his head as he could. He raised another arm to do it again as the whistle blew.
He delivered another blow feeling the bounce of the mat, the ref saying he won since it was a knockout but he wasn’t done.
Just as he was ready to give him another hit he was being yanked off but he wanted more. He wanted the guy bloody and bruised for the way he talked about you. He lurched forward to do it but strong arms held him back, two people telling him to stop. The ref raised Jungkook, “The winner! There, you’re done with the fighting!”
He had to be dragged out of the ring by Hoseok and Jin. He could barely see out of his eye and the crowd half cheered half booed, “Where’s Y/n?”
He was feeling dizzy, drained and tired. Jin sat him down on the bench and you went to get ice. You wanted to cry though you had no reason to. He just looked so scary out there but also, he was clearly beat. You had to collect yourself instead of let your emotions show. You’re the one who begged him to let you see him fight. You passed the bag to Jin feeling like you needed to catch your breath. Jin let you sit next to Jungkook who seemed too far into his own world to pay attention.
He was hot, his body was on fire and he was breathing heavy, leg bouncing as he thought back to what Seungmin had been saying. The fucking disrespect. Even if you weren’t his girlfriend, how could Seungmin say things like that and expect Jungkook to not react? He wanted to fight him again, it was all he could think about.
“Take the keys,” Jin told you and you did. Hoseok came in shortly after, “I’ve got the cut. Seungmin’s mad, cussing at everyone saying it’s cheating.”
“Says who?” Jin scoffed making Hoseok shrug, “No one. Jungkook won, everyone could see Seungmin was instigating and now he’s mad he got his ass handed to him.”
He chuckled as Jin took Jungkook’s gloves off and the mouth guard fell to the floor. Jungkook grabbed a t-shirt ignoring his wounds as he stood suddenly. He grabbed his things and like confused idiots you all rushed after him.
The place was still bustling with drunk energy and Seungmin’s voice was heard over it all.
“Take him out the ring and I’ll fucking beat him.”
You stayed a little behind as Jin tried grabbing at Jungkook but he just pushed him off.
“I call rematch and I’ll take the money and his bitc—“
Okay, well now you knew what he had been telling Jungkook. Jungkook turned Seungmin around but before the guy could react, a hard fist was colliding with his nose. Screams erupted, some urging the fight, some calling security. This entire time Jungkook had been silent with only a deadly look in his eyes. You gasped loudly when the guy threw Jungkook off trying to get on top of him but Jungkook wasn’t letting him. His fists weren’t stopping and they were covered in blood now.
“Jungkook!” You didn’t know what else to do. You couldn’t just go in and stop the fight like an idiot but you didn’t want Jungkook to do something he’ll regret. Jin seemed to be thinking the same because he did try and get Jungkook off only to be shoved aside.
Suddenly, security was there, picking Jungkook up with an arm around his neck locking him in. He fought against the hold once Seungmin was sitting up spitting out blood but Hoseok cut in. You didn’t know he was the one in charge of it all but it made sense now.
“Enough!” He yelled out, “If you’re not inside that ring you’re not fucking fighting or your asses are done!”
You walked to Jungkook practically feeling the heat radiating off him but you tried being gentle as he fought against the security still, “Hey, Jungkook.”
He couldn’t even look at you, eyes set on the guy and before he could stop himself he was lunging for him again catching security off guard and accidentally releasing him. Seungmin fell into a group of people when Jungkook did it again. You covered your eyes blocking out the yelling as they tried getting him off.
This time security wasn’t so nice, picking Jungkook up and throwing him on the ground making him gasp for air from his injuries. You immediately went to him, “Stop, please, can you please just stop.”
You didn’t notice you were crying as Jin helped Jungkook up and silently dragged him out. Jungkook was mad even as you made it outside.
“I fucking told you not to come!” Jungkook yelled, “I told you Y/n.”
“I know, I’m sorry,” you apologized, making Jin shove Jungkook into the passenger seat. “Stop acting fucking crazy or I’m leaving your ass here and taking Y/n home.”
You had the keys with you, hurrying to start the car so the two of you could leave but Jin was at Jungkook’s window. You rolled it down for him and the look on Jin’s face was saddened.
“Hoseok took half the cut for fighting outside the ring.”
“What?” Jungkook asked sitting up in his seat. Jin just nodded, “Took it, man I told you not to act out.”
Jungkook took the amount that was in Jin’s hands counting it up before cursing. It wasn’t nearly enough, not for everything. It wasn’t even enough to pay his family’s bills. When Jin pulled back you took the opportunity to drive but you didn’t take him to his place.
You were struggling when you pulled into the parking spot in the hotel parking garage and dragged him out. The garage was connected to the side of the hotel so you took him in the elevator as far as you could go and went up. As long as you avoided the lobby nobody would no how badly your boyfriend was beat.
He was silent now, all the pain finally hitting him at once and he felt hopeless. All that was for nothing. He won but at what cost? He let his emotions get the best of him and he yelled at you. Fuck, why did he do that? He couldn’t even apologize, it’s like his mouth had been sewn shut and look at this. You’re having to drag him yourself because he can’t walk himself. How pathetic.
When you got to a floor you found a cleaner and called to her as you got onto the right elevator hiding Jungkook against the wall, “Take a first aid kit to my room.” Everyone knew who you were and you couldn’t risk Jungkook being seen and your father being notified. The woman just nodded, running off already and you went to your floor. Jungkook didn’t say anything about coming to your place instead of his. He would’ve if he wasn’t trying to faint.
It didn’t take long for the first aid kit to get to your place and he followed you in.
He didn’t feel too awful but he was embarrassed. He didn’t even want you looking at him. His eye is practically swollen shut but thankfully it wasn’t the side with the piercing on it. He could still feel some blood on it but he had to force himself to ignore it as he followed you to your bathroom. You were bent over running the water in your overly large bath tub. You directed him to sit on the marble side of it and he did as told. You reached out to pull his shirt up but he stopped you.
“I can do it,” he mumbled looking down, “I’m fine.” You tried getting him to look and he wouldn’t but when you lifted his head he turned away making you frown, “You sure?”
“I don’t want you seeing me like this,” his voice was raspy, “Fuck I’m sorry baby, I’m so sorry for yelling at you earlier.”
“It’s okay,” you said, holding his face gently, “But look at me, please.” It took him a second but when he did you released a sigh. You had a warm wet cloth as you began cleaning his eye area, “I’m here.”
He looked at you close to tears. “You don’t have to do everything alone. I want to take care of you too,” you said, making him sniffle. He shook his head, “I always do it alone, it's okay.”
“It’s not,” you said once he was finally undressed. You checked the water and poured some bath salts in and urged him to get in. He was naked in front of you but you couldn’t look at him, he didn’t want you to see all the pain he went through even if he says it’s not that bad. You sat on the edge of the tub waiting for him to get in and he did so shyly. As he sank into the warm water he looked back at you, “I shouldn’t have yelled at you in the car. I’m sorry you had to see me like that, okay? If you don’t want to be with me because of it I wo—“
“You won’t what? Stop me?” You asked cupping water in your hands and letting it run over his body, “So if I tell you right now that I don’t want you, you’ll just leave without a fight? You must not like me that much.”
“I love you,” he blurted out, happy that he was facing the wall instead of you but he would rather have you in here with him, “That’s why I wouldn’t stop you from leaving me. I’m not good enough for you.”
“Says who?”
“Y/n be serious, please,” Jungkook released a sigh turning to look at you. Now that he’s more cleaned up his wounds don’t look so bad but his eye was still swollen and his knuckles were bloody, “Look at me. Look at what I did tonight and where I live an—“
“I am looking,” you told him with your hands in his hair wetting it, “And tonight made me realize that I’m in love with you. I don’t care about where you live, I don’t care about any of that.”
“But I do,” he said when you started tugging your skirt and sweater off. Yes, he wanted you in his arms in this tub big enough to fit four people, but he didn’t want to just think about himself. He wanted you to know that he understands how different you two are and if tonight scared you, he understands why. He was a monster.
“Why?” You asked, sinking in across from him, “Why do you care about that stuff if I don’t?”
“Because it’s not enough for you. I want to give you so much of myself. I want to treat you the way you deserve to be treated and I can’t,” Jungkook said honestly, voice cracking here and there, “I’m not good enough, I fight to make money and look what happens. I can’t control myself, I yelled at you for no fucking reason and I hate myself so much.”
“Because you yelled at me or because you don’t think you’re enough?” You asked cautiously, making him shake his head no but he didn’t even know what he wanted to say. Yeah, he strongly disliked himself. He worked his ass off and it was never enough. He never had enough money, enough food, enough restraint, stability, or love.
You were careful when you leaned forward placing a soft kiss to his jaw, “I know you didn’t mean to snap. I know your buttons were pushed. I know you were stressed out and I don’t blame you at all. If I did I wouldn’t have you here with me. I don’t know how much more direct I have to be for you to see that I care about you so fucking much.”
“I don’t care about money, or yelling or any of that shit, I care about you and how you make me feel so safe because I know my strong boyfriend will beat the shit out of anyone who talks about me,” you said making your tone lighter at the end and he almost cracked a smile. He would never let anyone treat you any sort of way. That’s true.
His sore hands were holding your waist now underwater trying to pull you onto his lap. Though he’s been hit a few times in the gut, the place he was most hit was his face. His lip was pulled between his teeth, “My fighting scared you.”
“No, it didn’t,” you confessed, “What scared me is knowing that guy could do pretty much anything to you and it wouldn’t be breaking the rules.”
“I know,” he said, agreeing with you. It was getting extremely dangerous. If he gets hit in the head any more times he’ll get punch drunk before he’s 26. It’s not the fighting that’s the problem it’s where he’s doing it that is, “But as embarrassing as it is to confess to you, I need the money.”
“I understand baby, I’m not saying anything about that,” you told him honestly, running your fingers through his hair, “But it doesn’t have to be this way.”
“What are you saying?”
“I’m saying I agree with Jin,” you told him making his brows furrow as much as they could. “If fighting is what you’re good at and you want to fight then go ahead. It shouldn’t matter what anyone thinks unless they’re here caring for you instead of putting more stress on your shoulders. I know your family doesn’t like you fighting and honestly, after tonight, I didn’t like seeing that but it’s not because I don’t support you.”
“It’s because I do, that I want you to have better opportunities in a safer, more regulated environment and not some dingy ass fight club,” you told him with a kiss to his shoulder blade, “So I think you should think about going professional. Jin and I have good connections everywhere and with the right training you can get really far. But if you really don’t want to then I won’t ask anymore.”
“You think I can do it? How am I gonna have time to train when I’ve got to make money,” Jungkook asked, suddenly thinking about it. You were a lot more convincing than Jin but maybe it’s because you’re so loving—and naked in his arms.
“I’ll help you with mon—“ “No,” and he was unconvinced, “I’m not taking handouts. I’m sorry baby but not from you. You’re my girlfriend, you’re not supposed to have to let me borrow money. I want to be able to take you out and spoil you and I can’t if—“
“It’s not a hand out, it’s your girlfriend wanting to do things for you because she really loves you and wants you to be at a point in your life when you’re not stressing over every little thing,” you told him. He shook his head, still unconvinced. He can’t. He can’t. He loves you too much to put his worries on your shoulders. You pressed a kiss to his collarbone, “Besides I’m not saying you won’t be able to do it on your own, I know you can.”
“What I’m saying is that you don’t have to do it alone, and if it’s not money that you want help with that’s fine but don’t shut me out because you’re scared of relying on someone else. You’re too used to being the one dealing with your problems and everyone else’s. I want to be the one you have in your corner.”
“So I should go pro?” You nodded making his eyes dart around in thought, “I’ll still be fighting but I know now it’s because I like it.”
“Yes but you’ll be doing it as safe as can be, I don’t want you to go into a fight like this again and the guy do anything he can to get you down,” you told him and he looked up at you.
“Okay.”
“Okay?”
“I am… I am asking for your help,” he struggled to get the words out but he did, “Because I don’t want to keep living the way I am, barely surviving and having to do dangerous things to get by. The reason why I never considered it is because I wouldn’t have the time or the money or even the support but I have you now.”
“You do,” you smiled, “And even if it doesn’t work—it will—but if it doesn’t, I’m still going to be here supporting everything you do.”
“I love you,” he blurted out looking in your eyes, “So fucking much and I’ve never felt like this for anyone else. I’m just sorry you have to see me like this.”
“Shhh,” you pressed your lips to his, “I love you too.”
You gave him a chaste kiss, “But we need you training on defense asap.” His brows furrowed as you continued, “I’m serious, you’re a good fighter but when it comes to blocking hits you suck.”
The two of you laughed lightly at that. It was true. He was a street fighter only using his fists to fight but when it comes to defending himself he’s not so quick. Hence why his face is usually the most damaged. His fingers sunk into your sides, “You gonna be my new trainer, baby?”
“Maybe, I know my way around a fight.” “Mmm, you’re gonna have to show me some moves but not in the ring.”
Your eyes rolled playfully, “Not tonight, you’re probably tired after your rounds.”
“I could still go for another round or two.”
“Are we still talking about fighting?”

Charles Smith NSFW Headcanons
So in my last post I said there isn’t enough nsfw headcanons of Charles on here so I decided I would write my own 🤭 this is incredibly fluffy btw (also we’re imagining you sleep naked with each other in this)
Tumblr media
I think it’s a fandom shared headcanon that this man is such a gentle, passionate lover, like he can absolutely have rough sex with you and loves fucking you every time you both need it. But most of the time this man does not fuck you, he makes love to you.
His kisses are soft, tender, he knows exactly how to kiss you to make you swoon, your heart beat faster, your knees weak, head empty, butterflies in your tummy, legs clenching, arousal brewing, goosebump causing. You know, those kind of kisses.
His touches are feather light, caresses all over your body, looking at you with pure admiration in his eyes, if there was a god somewhere, he would believe it was you.
When you’re both in bed at night he kisses you slowly, starting off with innocent little pecks between giggles and sweet nothings shared between you which progress into open mouthed kisses, getting a little hot and heavy but still not needing to go anywhere if you didn’t want, his hands either holding your cheek or nestled in your hair to bring you impossibly closer, little moans into each other’s mouth to say ‘I love you’ and your hands on his chest rubbing at the muscle sensually, so incredibly attracted to this man it should be illegal. His tongue swipes at your bottom lip lightly, so lightly that you would’ve missed it had your head not been so empty of everything but him. You meet his tongue with yours, rolling them together softly and adding to the quickly heating up atmosphere of the room. Your hands slide up his chest and around his back to play with his hair, massaging his scalp as he lets out an appreciative groan, one of his hands starting to wander, sliding from your hair to your neck and down your chest until he reaches your breasts, gripping one in his hand softly and you let out a little gasp into his mouth as he starts gently squeezing it.
You grip his hair a little tighter than before and as he rubs your sensitive nipple with his thumb you start to gently grind your hips up into his, feeling his semi-hard cock against your bare thigh, a very pleasant and welcome surprise.
His lips leave yours and start to trail kisses down your neck, sucking as he goes leaving little red marks that you know will turn into bruises through the night until he gets to your breasts and latches his mouth around the nipple his other hand isn’t busy with, he goes between sucking them and licking over them, switching between them so they get the same attention. He could gladly do this all night, he loves playing with your boobs, even more so because he knows how sensitive they are and how wet you get just from him touching them.
The longer he spent at your boobs, the harder you were starting to grind up into him, you were leaving a big wet patch on his naval but neither of you cared, it turned him on so much to know how easy it was for him to make you feel good and it felt too good for you to be embarrassed about it.
‘Charles’ you whisper into the air, hoping he gets the hint that you were starting to get needy, that you wanted more. He just kept doing what he was doing and as he lightly nipped at your nipple you almost whined his name this time. ‘Charles’.
You feel him smirk against your skin as he takes your hint and restarts his kisses again. Going down between your breasts, leaving feather light kisses and touches on your ribs, his touch so soft trailing down your waist you almost squirm from the tickling sensation before he finally gets to where you need him most and he starts kissing and leaving little marks on your inner thighs.
Now I know for a fact that Charles would be a massive giver, like, wouldn’t even think about his pleasure first and giving you pleasure literally gives him pleasure, seriously he could cum from eating you out. (Yes he has before). You know. One of those types.
So when he finally leans in and gives your clit a little kitten lick, this time you do whine and it’s that little noise that drives him up the wall as he begins to devour you. I’m talking sloppy, messy, mind blowing, toe curling head. It’s one of his favourite things to do and in your opinion it’s one of the things he’s best at.
He has his tongue inside of you, greedily lapping up your juices and sucking them out of you, his eyes closed in concentration, opening every so often to look at your head thrown back in pleasure, one hand gripping his head and the other clutching the pillow beside your head. How you look during sex always makes him fall even more in love with you, how your head rolls back, hands grip to anything they can (especially his muscles oooooh how you both have a kink for his muscles 😩), your mouth making the perfect silent ‘o’ as you struggle to take a breath from the pleasure your feeling, only being able to focus on him. His fingers, his mouth, his cock, anything about him that is bringing you closer to the edge. (So literally his entire being lmao)
When he finally slides a finger into you it immediately goes to the hilt, you’re so wet and needy that he’s able to add a second one to join it with no resistance immediately, he watches as your eyebrows and nose scrunch, your mouth falling open as you let out one of those delicious noises, reminding Charles of his very obvious hard on. He scissors his fingers gently, slowly getting you ready for him. (It’s canon that this man is huge have you seen that picture at the top of this post? Oh my lordddd so yes he absolutely has a big dick argue with the wall.)
His tongue attaches back onto your clit and the pressure of him lightly suckling the bud and slowly opening you up for him is too much for you to take and you cum for the first time with a gasp and a loud moan, grinding your hips again as your pussy twitches and tightens around him as you ride it out.
The orgasm makes you relax enough that he decides it would be enough to take him and with a quick look up to you, you nod and he immediately gets up and settles between your thighs. He runs the head of his cock through your folds, getting him lubed up and slowly dragging over your still sensitive clit as you let out little moans and mewls at the touches.
Finally he lines up and slowly pushes into you, groaning as he does, you’ve been together a while but he will never get used to the feeling of filling you for the first time during your sessions, you’re so warm and wet that it makes even a man like him with insane self control struggle to hold back.
As I said before this man is gentle and passionate so although his thrusts are slow they are pretty hard, filling you up perfectly and it is just the right mix of gentle but passionate that it has you moaning immediately, already knowing you were going to be able to cum more than once tonight.
He’s a very romantic man when he’s in love I think so he would be full of praise for you, constantly reassuring you during sex and making you feel so good about yourself you feel like a god with the way he talks to you.
‘Oooh that’s it baby. You’re doing so well for me. You feel so good. So good for me my love’ (holy hell I’m not okay 😩)
You couldn’t hold in your moans even if you wanted to, every single thrust is angled so perfectly, the rhythm is delicious and the power of his thrusts make your eyes roll back and goosebumps rise all over your arms from the pleasure of it.
‘Fuckkk, you feel so good baby. You feel good?’
You can’t even answer him as every single thrust he makes hits your g spot perfectly, you can’t contain your noises and you involuntarily clench around him every so often as he hits so deep inside of you that you forget your own name; your mind only being filled with one thing. Charles. Charles. Charles.
One of his hands grips your thigh with a bruising but pleasurable grip, the other going back to your cheek as he leans down to kiss you, it’s mainly just teeth clashing together as you moan into each other’s mouths but it’s intimate. So intimate.
He moves his hand from your cheek to trail down your body again, rubbing over the marks he left softly and going further and further until he reaches your clit again. He rubs it with the right amount of pressure, speed and intensity, knowing exactly how to make you mewl so the only thing you can think about is the pleasure you feel, not any problems outside of this room, just how this man is making you feel.
He gathers wetness from your thighs and goes back to rubbing your clit, the added wetness giving you exactly what you needed to tumble. No. Full force pelt off that edge again. You cum around him, clenching on him so hard he almost gets pushed out, he can feel you cumming, how even more wet you get as your cum mixes with your other juices, he watches you as you cum, panting into his mouth and moaning loudly, your eyes roll back further than they had before, only able to see the whites of your eyes, your jaw fell further open, head thrown back as you let out those sinful noises, you can see stars, feel yourself throbbing around Charles as you come back down from the high, seeing that he was watching you always makes you blush.
‘God you’re so beautiful like that. I almost came on the spot just watching that.’
You giggle a little before you let out another moan as he starts to thrust again, going after his own pleasure now that he knows you won’t be able to cum again for a while after an orgasm like that. His groans and moans get even louder the closer he gets. His muscles flex and tense, his eyebrows furrowing as his mouth too falls open to let more of the sounds out. He looks so beautiful when he cums, eyes closed, eyebrows scrunched, mouth open and making the most obscene, sexy noises you’ve ever heard a man make. You feel him throbbing inside of you as he cums inside of you, only stopping his thrusting as he too comes down from the high.
With a final moan he pulls out of you and lays down on the bed beside you, pulling you into his arms so your head is on his chest, your hand running across the scars there as he rubs your back soothingly.
‘You done so well for me. Always do so well for me.’
You blush slightly and your heart swells from the praise of your lover.
‘I love you, Charles.’ you say, throwing a leg over his, bringing you too even closer. He plants a kiss on your head before replying.
‘I love you more. My angel.’

(Y/N)’s point of view
When we found out we were having a little girl, Spencer lost his mind. I know he would have been happy if the doctor had said it was a boy, but a baby girl was just what he had always dreamed about. A little princess to spoil and teach everything.
We decided to name her Raven Marie Reid, and ever since that day, my husband talked to our daughter every second he could. He encouraged us to hear more classical music to help her brain develop, he read her bedtime stories and even asked about her day.
- “I’m telling you, chipmunk, Raven knows I’m talking to her”- Spencer pointed out as we walked into the bullpen- “She kicks and moves when I say her name.”
- “I know, honey bunny. She is still inside me, kicking my ribs and squeezing my bladder most of the time.”- I replied and shook my head, smiling. I couldn’t deal with his proud smile at my words.
- “Reids! you are here! I’ve got news”- Penelope nearly tackled us as soon as she saw us, and didn’t even give us time to reach our desk.
- “We have to take the fit test.”- she announced quickly.
- “We?”- Spencer asked, confused.
- “Me too?”- I questioned, scared of the answer. I was already 38 weeks into the pregnancy and I could barely move. I wasn’t allowed to travel anymore, so I had to help the team from my desk whenever they were out of town.
- “Of course not, munchkin. Just me and your husband.”- Garcia explained tapping on my arm.
- “But why? We have enough case hours to cover a fit test.”- Spencer argued, confused.
- “I just got the mail. So, I guess we should train a little.”- Garcia shrugged and started walking with us to our desk.
- “I can help.”- I suggested - “I was very good at my fit test, and I can give you some tips.”
- “Can we talk with Hotch and get out of this?” - Spencer suggested- “I mean, it’s a fit test. Honestly, we don’t need this.”
- “Well, we are having a baby, and you are gonna have to play with her, so maybe getting some exercise done could be good for you.”- I suggested, but Spencer looked at me like I had cursed him- “What?”
- “You know I’m not good at sports.”
- “You are amazing in the field and you know it.”- I rubbed his shoulder and smiled- “But you have to get used to running now that we are having to have a kid to follow around.”
- “My princess is not gonna make me run around, right Raven?”- Spencer asked and rubbed my tummy. Our daughter moved inside my belly and sat directly on my bladder.
- “Great, I have to pee again. Thank you, honey bunny.”
The following morning, Spencer and I got up extra early to meet Penelope on the training track in Quantico. My husband looked the cutest in his red shorts and mismatched socks. I planned a simple circuit for them to warm up and watched them running as I sat on a bench and ate part of the orange slices I had brought to them. I tried to imagine how it would be when Raven went to school, would she like sports? Would she join the track team? Soccer? softball? my mind wandered to all the amazing things our baby girl would do. Anything she dreamed of, I would encourage her to pursue.
Spoiler alert: Raven is on the swimming team, and she loves it. We go to her competitions with homemade banners and Spencer made sure our house had a pool, so she can practice whenever she wants.
- “Come on honey bunny!!”- I yelled as Spencer made it to the finish line, a few seconds after García, in what I could call a dreadful performance running. I stopped the timer and shook my head as I made my way over. Spencer and Penelope were panting, and trying to elongate their weary muscles.
- “Why does it have to be such a fast mile?”- Garcia argued, trying to catch her breath- “Have you ever even had to run a mile in the field?”
- “No.”- Spencer answered, panting. I handed them a Gatorade and tried to cheer them up.
- “Come on! you are doing better! You’ve got this!”
- “I'm not even in the field.”- Penelope kept arguing - “I sit at a computer on my perfect posterior, like all day.”
- “I know, Pen. But it’s the rule. Apparently, everybody has to take the fit test this year.”- I tried to explain, but my friend decided to keep rambling.
- “Well, at least we didn’t ask Derek.”- Garcia was thinking out loud - “It's bad enough some bureaucrat is making us take this stupid test. The last thing we need is Mr. Universe talking smack the whole time.”
- “But he knows about all this stuff.”- Spencer argued her point of view - “He can probably, like, teach us some tricks, help us train.”
- “Your wife is doing that already, Reid.”- Garcia pointed out the obvious- “Besides, Derek takes it way too seriously. I worked out with him once.”
- “You work out?”- my husband asked surprised, and Pen just nodded, still trying to catch her breath. - “That's cool. I don't.”
- “We can tell, hon.”- I whispered as I rubbed his back.
- “I train in a non-traditional manner and never again with him.”- Garcia explained. - “He was all, "There you go, baby girl. Move it or lose it. This ain't your high-tech room. My grandmama can move better than that."- I chuckled at her impersonation of Morgan as my husband tried to excuse him somehow.
- “He can be enthusiastic at times.”- Spencer was so nice, we all know Derek was a drill sergeant training. I loved training with him, he always forced me to give 110%, but of course, neither my husband nor Garcia enjoyed it.
- “That's a way of saying it.”- I giggled and looked at the clock - “Now come on! Give me a couple more laps.”
- “Do we have to?”- Spence asked me with sweet puppy eyes, looking adorable and exhausted.
- “Yes, you do. Come on! You’ve got this.”
Lucky for Spencer and Penelope, Hotch texted us to tell us we had a case, which only meant training was over.
It also meant I had to stay with Garcia as my husband left the city to catch a serial killer. I knew it was our job and there was nothing I could do about it, but it made me uneasy to think about what would happen to Raven and me if anything went to happen to Spencer on the field. It was a fact: I was afraid of our mortality now that we were about to be parents. That is one fear I haven’t stopped feeling, and it’s one of the main reasons why today we are leaving the BAU.
During that case, Spencer got hit. It wasn’t serious, just a punch on the face, and Morgan teased him saying they might have ruined his pretty face a little. However, I didn’t laugh at all. I wasn’t calm or even rational at that point. You lose it when you get a phone call from your boss saying your husband is at the hospital, and you can’t go ‘cos you are 635 miles away and unable to get on a plane ‘cos you are 38 weeks pregnant. It doesn’t matter if it’s just a punch in the face.
I was beyond furious with him and Hotch. Mad at Spencer for putting himself in danger out there, and with Hotch, for putting him there in the first place.
I yelled so much while the team was on their way back, Garcia was afraid I was going to deliver the baby in her office. But I knew I had to get it off my system before dealing with Hotch, ‘cos I didn’t want to get fired for attempting to murder my boss.
- “What the fuck was Spencer thinking?!”- I yelled as I paced in Penelope’s office, trying to breathe. - “He never gets in any physical fight with an unsub! Ever! When was the last time he got hurt during a case? Tell me, Pen!?”- and my friend stared at me, not knowing the answer.
- “I’m… well…”
- “It was over five years ago, we weren’t even dating yet. He got fucking anthrax!! and he almost died! I can’t go through that again, we are gonna have a baby. Do you think I could raise a baby alone? I fucking can’t! There is no way on earth I can do this alone! Spencer can’t do this to me!”
- “(Y/N), please breathe. He just got punched on the face, that’s it.”- Garcia tried to reason with me, and failed.
- “Just punched on the face? Do you know how dangerous that is? It means he was fighting the unsub! One false movement and things south!”
- “But it didn’t happen, please, munchkin, calm down, you are gonna give me a stroke.”
- “I’m not gonna calm down until my husband is here, safe and sound!”
My wishes came true later that evening after I had made a major effort to calm myself down and not look like the hormonal and slightly crazy woman I was that day.
- “I’m ok, I swear”- Spencer said as soon as he stepped out of the elevator and found me waiting for him.- “I’m sorry, ma cherie.”
I sighed, taking in his perfume, the smell of his neck, and the warmth of his arms around me. Spencer kissed the top of my head and didn’t move for a few minutes until he was sure I was calmed. Somehow, having him there made me forget about how mad I had been earlier that day.
- “Are you sure you are ok?”- I whispered and looked at his face, he had a cut on the eyebrow and a bruise on the cheekbone.
- “Nothing that some kisses can’t fix.”- he said with a sweet smile.
- “You would have been proud, pretty girl.”- Derek pointed out, walking past us along with the rest of the team. - “Reid tacked the unsub like a pro.”
- “I did.”- my husband nodded. - “Working out is paying off.”
- “So, do you think you could stay here until the baby is born?”- I asked and Spencer just smiled.
- “Hotch and I already talked. I won’t move from my desk until Raven is here.”- I beamed, relieved, and let out a deep breath I didn’t know I was holding.
- “Thank you, honey bunny.”
- “Anything for you, ma cherie.”
- “I’m glad I don’t have to yell at Hotch anymore.”- my husband frowned, confused.
- “Why would you…”
- “Never mind, honey bunny.”
Spencer’s point of view
There are so many things I will never forget, and not just because I have an eidetic memory. One of my favorites is the day Raven was born. That was the day I became a father, and by far, one of the happiest moments of my life.
(Y/N) had started feeling contractions after dinner. We were on the couch watching Dr. Who and eating ice cream when they began. They were soft and irregular, so we didn’t move, and instead, we did what the doctor had instructed, and started timing the contractions.
After a while, (Y/N) decided a bath was a good idea ‘cos it might help her relax before bed, so I filled the tub and helped her in. We didn’t call anyone but our midwife, who told us we were doing the right thing and suggested we get as much sleep as possible. So we went to bed. I held my wife and placed a hand on his belly.
I felt like I hadn’t slept for more than five minutes when my wife’s voice woke me up at five thirty am.
- “Honey.”- she whispered, shaking my arm carefully.
- “Everything ok?! Are you in pain?! Do you need the doctor?”- I nearly jumped and stared at her, she seemed scared, though she tried to remain calm.
- “My water broke.”
And that was when my brain turned off.
I stared at (Y/N), slowly panicking, and stood by her side, analyzing everything. Yes, our mattress was probably ruined but that wasn’t the biggest issue at that minute.
- “Spencer?”- my wife called out my name, probably reading how I was losing it at that minute.
- “Yes, cherie, I’m here. I just… need a second.”
- “We have to go to the hospital.”- her voice was a whisper, and she didn’t say another word. A contraction hit her and I could read the pain all over her face. That was when it clicked me, there was no time to overthink, I had to be there for her. In a second I was fully dressed and helping her walk to the door.
- “The bag is in the car, I’ve got my cell… and yours.”- she kept panting as she enumerated everything we needed.
- “We’ll call your parents from the car”- I said as I grabbed the keys and opened the front door.
- “Wait!”- (Y/N) stayed still and held her belly with both hands. I saw her doing her breathing exercises, going through what looked like a very painful contraction. I placed my hand on hers and stared at her, doing her best to do everything we were taught we had to do.
- “I am so proud of you.”- I whispered and kissed her temple. - “You are doing so well, ma cherie.”
- “In case later I yell and say things I don’t mean, I love you.”- she replied and I chuckled. - “You know I might do that if it gets too painful.”
- “I know you will.”- I replied and kissed her lips - “Ready to walk to the car?”- (Y/N) nodded and started moving slowly. I closed the door and held her arm, helping her all the way over.
I rushed into the hospital with my wife, who was trying her best to hide her pain from me, so I wouldn’t freak out. But I was freaking out anyway. Of course, I was. I was running in my head all the possible scenarios that could go wrong in the following hours and I was terrified.
- “My wife is having our baby, her water broke.”- that was all I could say as soon as we reached the front desk. A nurse put (Y/N) in a wheelchair and guided her to a room in less than a minute to examine her. I gave our info and followed her, trying to remain calm.
- “How are you feeling, Mrs. Reid?”- she asked (Y/N).
- “I’m ok, I guess. I keep trying to think this isn’t the most painful thing ever ‘cos I know it’s gonna get worse.”- and my wife even joked, she is a champ.
- “We’ll make sure you feel the least pain possible. Now, let’s put you in bed and see how long until we meet your baby. Do you know what you are having?”
- “A girl.”- (Y/N) replied as I helped her move into the bed. I felt like there was nothing I could do at that minute, so I just stared at her being the most amazing woman ever.
- “Did you pick a name yet?”
- “Yes, Raven Marie.”-
- “That’s a lovely name! Now, let’s see how you are doing.”
The nurse was very nice. She asked my wife a million questions I heard (Y/N) answer patiently, checked her vitals, assessed her contractions, and checked her cervical dilatation. During that entire time, I couldn’t say a word, I was shocked. It was happening, my wife was going to make me a dad, and I was terrified. Not that I didn’t want to be a father, I was just scared anything might go wrong. And if everything went well, and the baby ended up hating me ‘cos I was the worst father on earth? I didn’t know how to be a good dad, I didn’t have one most of my life.
- “Honey, honey”- (Y/N) held my hand and took me from my thoughts.
- “Are you ok?”- I asked right away and she smiled.- “What can I get you?”
- “Nothing, but are you ok? You are pale and I can see you are losing it, and this hasn’t even started yet.”- I nodded and felt her squeezing my hand. - “It’s gonna be ok, so please don’t overthink it, ok?”- I nodded and leaned in to kiss her forehead, but she moved and crushed her lips against mine, making me smile.
- “Come on! She is still pregnant! Wait a little before knocking her up again.”- Frank said as he walked in absolutely unannounced, holding a paper bag filled with snacks, books, and magazines.
- “How the fuck did you know we were here?”- that was the first thing my wife questioned, and then the nurse showed up to take him out.
- “Your mom called us all, everybody is on their way, I just got here early.”
- “Sir, I’m gonna have to ask you to wait outside.”- the nurse said and pointed to the door.
- “Don’t worry, guys. I’m gonna be camping out there, I’m on the welcome committee. Anything you need, I’m here.”- Frank moved quickly, kissed (Y/N)’s forehead, and smiled. - “You are gonna kick ass, nugget!”
We are lucky to have the best friends on earth.
(Y/N)’s parents, Lu, and Mikey were in the waiting room with Frank in less than half an hour. They all had stopped by to see my wife and wish her luck. Hotch and Garcia got there next and hugged me tight.
- “How is my munchkin? Can I see her?”- Pen asked right away.
- “She is with the doctor, everything is fine. She is still a few hours away from pushing, but everything is going well. They are evaluating if they are giving her the epidural now.”- I explained and Pen nodded.
- “JJ said she won’t come ‘cos she has a cold and it could be dangerous for (Y/N) and the baby, but asked me to send pictures later.”- I just nodded and looked around the room. Everyone I loved was there to support us.
- “Did you bring her ice?”- Hotch asked and I showed him the cup I was holding.
- “On my way to get more ice right now.”
- “And how are you?”- my unit chief asked the million-dollar question, so I just sighed.
- “I can’t stand hospitals, there’s something about the lighting…”- Hotch raised an eyebrow and stared at me knowing that was not what bothered me. - “I’m just worried, I can’t stop thinking anything might go wrong.”- it was easiest to confess my darkest fear at that moment because I needed some sort of contention.
- “It’s normal, Reid. You want to be sure she and the baby are going to be ok.”- Hotch put a hand on my shoulder and smiled at me. - “You are doing a great job here.”
- “Thank you.”- it was somehow reassuring to hear Hotch saying that. I felt silly but it somehow took a weight from my chest.
- “Son.”- Chief (Y/L/N) walked towards, shook Hotch’s hand, and welcomed Garcia. - “Have you eaten anything?”- he didn’t actually wait for my reply, my father-in-law handed me a sandwich and a coffee. - “Eat this, I’ll bring my princess the ice. You need a little break.”- he tapped on my back and Sofia patted on an empty chair next to her and I moved towards her slowly.
- “Did you call your mom yet, honey?”- she asked me as I chewed the sandwich and shook my head. - “Do you want me to call her?”
- “It’s still too early in Las Vegas. And I don’t want her to get anxious. I’ll call her when Raven is here with us.”- I explained and sipped my coffee. Extra cream and extra sugar. I hummed happily and Sofia smiled.
- “Did I get your order right?”- she asked me and I nodded, surprised. - “I’m glad. I made you the sandwich you said you liked last time we had brunch. A bacon omelet goat cheese sandwich.”- she pointed out proudly.- “I remembered how much you liked it.”
- “Thank you, Sofia.” - she leaned over and kissed my forehead.
- “I love you, son. I am so excited you and my baby are about to be parents.”
I blushed as I heard her words, feeling my heart filled with love. Around us, Frank, Lu, Garcia, and Mikey talked about all the plans they had for my baby girl. Hotch was talking with Derek, who had just walked in with Alex.
- “Now eat your food,"- Sofia added.- "I’ll put an eye on my baby.”
I am still amazed by the warm feeling that having a family gives me. Not just my wife and kids, but our entire extended family, in-laws, and friends. I never thought I could ever have this. I know I say it a lot, but it’s very hard for me to believe this is my life.
(Y/N)’s point of view
Things I couldn’t stop thinking about the first time I had a baby: how Spencer always said studies showed women forgot about pain as soon as they held their babies. I needed to get to that point as fast as possible because no matter how many drugs they gave me, I felt like I was tearing apart.
- “Come on Mrs. Reid!”- the doctor said, from between my legs. - “I can see her head! just a few more pushes!!”
- “I can’t, I’m too tired!”- I argued and felt like breaking into tears, ‘cos I was moody and tired and most of all, scared ‘till the death of what was going on. A human was coming out of my body, I wasn’t ready to be a mom. I was terrified of messing it up.
- “Come on, ma cherie.”- Spencer had held my hand through the whole process, and though he had delivered a baby himself, for the first time ever, he didn’t give directions or corrected anyone. I guessed he was too scared to mess up and trusted the medical staff.
- “I’m sorry hon, I can’t do this.”- I mumbled and felt my baby punching her way out of my body. I had a strong contraction and instead of talking, all I could do was scream in pain.
- “Yes, you can do this, (Y/N). Come on! Just push, our baby is almost here. Just push, ok?”- Spencer begged as I did as told and gave my biggest effort.
- “Almost!! Just one more!!!”- the doctor said. Spencer held my hand tighter and nodded, in support. I don’t know how I did it, but somehow, I managed to push one more time and suddenly, I heard a baby cry.
- “Oh my god”- Spencer gasped and stayed still, staring at the baby with tears in his eyes. The doctor stood up and placed a red crying baby on my chest, and suddenly, Spencer was right. I felt no pain whatsoever. Nothing. All I could do was stare in awe and, of course, cry, how that little baby on my chest was in fact, my little baby.
- “Hi Raven.”- I whispered and touched her back carefully, with shaky hands. - “Hi, I’m your mom, and me and your dad love you very much.”- I chuckled and sniffed as Spencer moved closer and kissed my forehead.
- “She is perfect.”- he whispered and stared at her in admiration and pure love. The nurse gave him a pair of scissors and instructed him how to cut the umbilical cord. I tried to stop crying, but it was nearly impossible. I was a mom. My husband was a dad. We were parents.
Spencer and I had a kid. That was the thought I couldn’t process. The guy I had a crush on for what seemed to be my entire life, my best friend, the smartest guy on earth, and I, had made a baby. I managed to look away from Raven for a second and watched him staring at us, sobbing.
- “I love you so much.”- I whispered and he smiled at me. He leaned in and kissed my lips carefully, and then kissed our baby girl.
- “I love you too, so much. I am so proud of you, ma cherie.”
It was all sweet and fun until that point. But no one ever prepared me for what happened when we took Raven home. Yes, we were ready (or so we thought), but let me tell you this: dealing with a newborn after a week of no sleep is way worse than any unsub's interrogation I had ever dealt with. Way worse.
I felt I was losing my sanity after the first eight days with Raven at home. She didn’t sleep for longer than an hour, which meant neither did we. Breastfeeding wasn’t magical, it was uncomfortable and sometimes even painful, which made me feel like the worst mother on earth. During that first week, I did my best to remain calm and rational. But after eight days of no sleeping, pain due to delivery, swollen breasts, and the irrevocable agony of thinking I was the worst mother on earth, I locked myself in the kitchen and cried my eyes out as I waited for the pot to boil.
Spencer was with Raven in our room, walking around 'cause it was the best way to keep her asleep for more than half an hour. I didn’t want him to know I was crying 'cause I felt useless and pathetic. A voice inside my head kept telling me any other woman would do better than me. Any other woman would be a better mother for Raven and a better wife for Spencer.
I’m not proud to tell you how I felt, I swear. But at that moment, I was overwhelmed.
So I waited for the water to boil and cried as much as I could. Then I put myself together, grabbed a cup, and prepared a cup of hot lavender tea for myself. I also grabbed a bag of marshmallows and ate half of it in less than a minute. Then, I took a deep breath and headed back to our bedroom, where Spencer was still walking our baby. He looked exhausted but kept staring at Raven with the sweetest look in his eyes. It made me feel guilty because he was doing just great and I was a failure. And what was worse: I couldn’t stop thinking JJ was a better BAU mom than I was. She was my only comparison, and as far as I was concerned, she kicked ass. And there I was, failing.
- “She is asleep.”- Spencer whispered and I walked to him, to make sure Raven was well. - “Why don’t you get some rest? I’ve got her.”
- “No, I don’t wanna leave you alone with all the work.” - I argued, knowing it was useless to resist.
- “Every book says that when the baby is asleep, the mother should try to get some rest. Now please, get in bed and nap a little. I’ll be right here with Raven, ok?”
- “But…”
- “Chipmunk, I have to return to work in a few days, please get as much rest as you can while I am still here. I don’t wanna be at work feeling guilty I didn’t do enough to help you.”
- “You’ve done everything, honey.”- I whispered and looked down at my shaking hands. I was still filled with sadness and regret. Feelings I didn’t know how to handle.
- “What are you talking about? You brought her to this world, you feed her, you take care of her. You’ve done more than enough.”- he kissed the top of my head and I just sighed, defeated. - “Get some sleep, ma cherie.”
I was lucky enough to have a large support group. My mom would visit us daily and help us with Raven while we did house chores and napped. Lu, Frank, and Mikey brought us groceries during the first couple of weeks, so we didn’t have to leave the house. Hotch gave us all the free days he could get. But eventually, after a month and a half, my husband had to return to work, and I was all alone at our apartment with Raven.
- “How is my beautiful granddaughter?”- Diana asked as soon as I opened the door. She was visiting after her trip to the Grand Canyon, and my mom had invited her to stay over with her. My mother-in-law was doing so well with her new medication, and she wanted to enjoy as much time with Raven as possible.
- “And Spencer?”- Diana asked, looking around the apartment.
- “He is back to work, starting today.”- I explained and tried not to show how much I hated the idea of him chasing psychopaths and traveling all over the states. Spencer said he would ask Hotch to stay in town, at least for a few weeks, and help the team from headquarters. I wanted him to take a sabbatical from the BAU and teach in Georgetown for a semester. We could live like that, get used to having a baby, and watch her grow. But Hotch needed Spencer, and he said he also needed me back as soon as I was ready.
- “And how many weeks do you have left before going back to work?”- Mrs. Reid asked the dreadful questions as she walked around the apartment holding Raven in her arms.
- “Three more weeks.”
- “And do you want to go back to the FBI?”- Diana was on fire that day, asking everything I didn’t want to think about.
- “I miss my work, but I don’t want to be apart from Raven. I know mom will take care of her when I’m at work, and I don’t wanna travel for the next couple of months. But still, I’m not that excited about coming back to work.”- I explained. However, I left out the most important part: I was terrified of anything happening to us. Getting injured and being in danger was the biggest issue working at the BAU, but before having a kid, I had never felt as afraid as I was then.
- “Why don’t you relax honey?”- my mom asked, probably reading the pain on my face. - “Leave this little princess with us, and have a nice warm bath. How does that sound?”
- “And a nap”- Mrs Reid suggested - “Sleep as much as you want, darling. None of us will feel bad if you need to rest. God knows I needed naps when Spencer was a baby. He was adorable, but the first couple of weeks I was exhausted the entire time. Once I fell asleep sitting at the table, having breakfast.”- I smiled at them and nodded. They were both right. I needed a break before pumping, feeding, and changing diapers again.

Swapped
Part one of the Incredibles au power swap fic lets gooooo
I don’t know how many parts this is going to be total, maybe four..? I tried to keep it short, but that... didn’t work, heh. This is set after movie stuff at some point, don’t know exactly when, not too long... but supers are legal at least.
But anyway, enjoy part one!
Part two
————————————————————
Wind woke up slowly, his ears ringing in his skull.
A dull pulse of pain rippled through his middle, and he winced, putting a hand on his chest and rubbing it as he tried to think through what had happened. He remembered a voice talking, and something about intruders being free test subjects...
Oh. Right.
And a big explosion that had sent them all flying.
Ow...
Wind rubbed his eyes, wincing. He supposed a weird explosion shouldn’t be that surprising, since they were trying to break into a crazy-secure science lab. They’d gotten some information on all sorts of illegal experiments going on here, with supers allegedly involved, and they’d all suited up and stormed the place.
Nobody had realized they were expected.
Wind sighed, and sat up with another wince, grateful his supersuit was so sturdy. If he’d been in his civilian clothes, he’d probably be a smear on the wall right now. Or at least dealing with some broken ribs instead of just the weird soreness he had.
He shook his head, trying to disperse the ringing in his ears, and looked around, wondering why it was so quiet. Something about the air seemed weird, like something was missing from it.
A frown settled on Wind’s face and he reached for some wind, trying to listen and see if there was anything moving nearby. Then he froze.
He couldn’t do it.
Wind thrust his hand out, twirling it in the motion he always used when he directed the winds, but nothing happened, no matter how he moved his hands, no matter how hard he tried.
Something was wrong with his powers.
Wind breathed in shakily, and looked down at his hands, trying not to get swamped with panic. He was fine, he was fine except for the aches and lack of powers, he was fine. He probably just... needed to recover a little more from being unconscious. Yeah.
That had to be it.
Wind swallowed and looked around, suddenly zeroing in on Legend lying nearby. He wasn’t moving, and Wind shakily got to his feet, stumbling over and crouching at his side.
“Legend?” Wind asked, and gave his brother a light shake.
Legend didn’t move, not one inch, and the sight of his brother so still made something lurch in Wind’s stomach.
He paused in trying to wake him, and turned his attention to the rest of the room. He’d been separated from the others in the explosion, and the only other person besides Legend and himself in the hallway was Warriors. And Warriors looked like he was beginning to stir, a groan coming from his direction.
Wind stood up again, the absence of his wind all the more noticeable when he tried to draw on it for assistance. He swallowed and kept going, and knelt by Warriors’ side as his eyes flickered open.
“Warriors?” he asked in a shaky voice, and his uncle groaned, pressing his hands to his ears.
“Not so loud...” he bit out in a whisper, face screwed up in a wince. “...why is it so loud?”
“...I’m the only one making any noise,” Wind said in confusion, and when Warriors winced, he switched to a whisper as well. “...Sorry. It’s not loud at all Warriors, what’s wrong?”
“I don’t... know?” Warriors bit out, trying to sit up. “Ugh... I feel like I got hit by a truck...”
“Did you hit your head?” Wind asked anxiously, and Warriors slowly shook it, still wincing.
“No... everything is just... loud.”
Wind waited a moment for him to wake up a little more, and Warriors breathed out, slowly sitting up. Pain still showed in the way his face was creased though, and Wind felt the bubble of anxiety in his chest get a little bigger.
“That was a weird thing they hit us with... are you sure you’re okay?” Wind said as he helped Warriors sit up, glancing worriedly at the rubble separating them from the others.
“Yeah...” Warriors mumbled. “You okay, Wind?”
Wind swallowed.
“I... I don’t know,” he said honestly, wishing his voice wouldn’t shake. “I only woke up a bit ago. I found Legend too, he’s still unconscious, but Wars there’s— there’s something wrong with my powers.”
“What?”
Wind bit his lip. “I can’t get them to work. Ever since I woke up I haven’t been able to feel any wind or anything, there’s something wrong.”
Warriors’ face creased in concern, but then he paused, and held out his hand with his palm outstretched.
Nothing.
He tried again, a little more frantically, but still nothing happened, and he exhaled, looking down at his hands.
“Looks like mine are on the fritz too,” he said worriedly, then gave Wind’s shoulder a squeeze. “We’ll... we’ll figure this out. There’s probably something blocking them, I’ve seen this before. We just need to find the device.”
“You’re sure?” Wind said shakily, and Warriors nodded, giving his hair a quick ruffle.
“Yeah. It’ll be fine, kiddo.”
Wind gave him a small smile, then decided to check on Legend again since he still hadn’t moved. His brother’s face was still pale and blank, and while he didn’t look injured, Wind knew stuff could be hurt on the inside where they couldn’t see it.
Warriors joined him a few moments later, still wincing, and got to a knee beside Legend. He began looking him over, brushing dusty bangs from his face, and Wind watched in silence from beside him.
“Warriors, what do we do now?” Wind asked quietly, and his uncle hesitated, flinching when a sound rang out in the distance.
“I... don’t know just yet. Let’s recuperate for a bit, see if we can wake Legend up. Maybe try and contact the others. Then... I guess keep going. Somebody has to stop this scientist guy.
“And that somebody is us.”
“Right-o,” Warriors smiled. Then he stiffened, ears pricking as he looked down the hallway. “Someone’s coming.”
“I don’t hear anything,” Wind said in confusion, and Warriors shook his head, gathering Legend up into his arms.
“I can, there’s someone coming, trust me. We need to—”
Footsteps clattered towards them, and Warriors flinched, quickly tugging Wind and Legend behind a piece of rubble. A handful of guards came around the corner, and Wind crouched down further, watching them nervously.
Normally four guards would be nothing, but without powers and Warriors in a questionable state... Wind wasn’t sure they could handle them.
“Wars?” he whispered, and Warriors put a finger to his lips.
The guards drew nearer, spreading out and looking around the rubble. One came closer and closer to where Warriors and Wind were, and suddenly looked behind the rubble, spotting them.
“Hey!”
He grabbed for his gun, and Warriors shoved Wind behind him, launching himself at the guard with a snarl. The man shouted as he fell backwards, and despite the pain on Warriors’ face, he managed to wrestle the gun away from him.
The other guards heard him though, and Wind’s stomach lurched as they surrounded Warriors, unsure if he should go help or stay where he was and defend Legend. Warriors was hurting, but Legend wasn’t even awake, what was he supposed to do?
Two guards split off and went for Wind, and he yelped in panic, backing up so he could better protect Legend. The guards both reached in the nook Wind and Legend were tucked in, trying to grab them, but Wind avoided their hands and kicked at their arms.
Warriors was still struggling with the other two guards, but when he heard Wind’s yelp, his head shot up, eyes going wide when he saw one of them pull out a gun.
“Get away from them!” he shouted, eyes glowing, and was suddenly doused in shadows.
A familiar noise hummed through the air, and Wind and the guards stared in shock as the shadows dispersed, leaving a grayish-blue and white wolf on the ground where Warriors had been.
The wolf looked utterly shellshocked, and Wind felt much the same as he stared at it.
What.
Wind suddenly realized the guards were all distracted by the abrupt appearance of a wolf, and he shoved his shock to the back of his mind. He pushed the two that were trying to grab him, knocking them both over, then darted out and grabbed a piece of metal that had fallen on the ground.
He slammed it into one of the guard’s heads, sending him to the floor, but by then the others had snapped out of their daze.
But Warriors had too, and it didn’t take long for him and Wind to take out the other three guards. All four lay unconscious in short order, and Wind panted heavily as he wiped his face.
Then he stared back at the wolf, who was staring at his paws with his ears back.
“Um... what?” Wind spluttered, disbelief coming back. “Warriors that— how?”
The Warriors-wolf whined, his eyes wide, and he paced around in an anxious circle, nose twitching and ears flicking.
“How did you do that?!” Wind repeated, and Warriors flinched at his raised voice, ears folding back again. “...sorry. But why do you have Twilight’s powers?!”
Warriors repeated his whine, tail between his legs, and suddenly the shadows whirled around him again, blocking him from view. When they dispersed, Warriors was back to normal, sitting on the ground and looking somewhat nauseous.
“...Warriors?” Wind asked, and Warriors slowly sank down and laid on his back, then put a hand over his eyes.
“Gimme a sec,” he croaked.
Wind went quiet, and for a minute the only sound in the room was Warriors’ somewhat-shaky breathing.
While his uncle got a hold of himself, Wind gently tugged Legend out from the hiding spot, setting his head in his lap as he sat down. He ran a hand over Legend’s hair while he watched Warriors, and finally his uncle exhaled, and took the hand off his eyes.
“I think I know what the problem with our powers is,” he murmured. “Somehow... they switched.”
“But how?” Wind said as he stared at his uncle, and Warriors sighed, slowly sitting up and setting his hands over his ears again.
“I don’t know. But... I think it has to do with that weird energy pulse. I’d guess somehow it switched our powers.”
Wind stared at him in shock, and Warriors grimaced as something made a sound in the distance.
“How... is that even possible?”
“I have no earthly clue.”
Wind petted Legend on the head again, trying to wrap his brain around the idea of powers somehow swapping. Their powers were a literal part of them, how could anything switch them around?
“So... so you somehow have Twilight’s powers,” Wind said, and Warriors nodded. “Does that mean Twilight has yours?”
“I don’t know. But based on the whole wolf thing and the fact that I can hear so much as a pin drop, I definitely switched with Twilight,” Warriors said, then winced again. “Eugh. How does he deal with being able to smell everything? Or hear people breathing?”
Wind shrugged. “So... what was it like being a wolf?” he asked curiously.
“...Weird. We should get moving before the guards wake up,” Warriors said, dodging the question, and Wind sighed and nodded. Obviously Warriors didn’t want to talk about it.
...he’d get it out of him eventually though.
Wind looked down at his hands as Warriors moved to pick up Legend, flexing his fingers, and wondered suddenly if the same thing had happened to him.
Had he just gotten his powers blocked, or had he switched with somebody too? Was that why he couldn’t feel his winds?
Wind focused on himself for a second, trying to remember back to when he was smaller, and accessing his powers was more difficult. Normally there was a sense of the winds around him that he drew on, a thrum in his heart that moved in time with them, and he could usually draw on it with little to no effort.
That feeling wasn’t there anymore, but as Wind focused, he realized there was a different thrum inside of him now, one that felt blindingly strong.
Wind cautiously drew on it, but it was like turning on a firehose, and a flood of whatever power he had now came rushing at him, startling a yelp from his throat.
Warriors called his name, but Wind barely heard him, focused on the power rushing through his middle, spreading to his limbs and stretching out along his face. It was nearly overwhelming, but Wind held on against it, gritting his teeth as power buzzed all over throughout his skin.
The rush ebbed finally, enough that Wind could open his eyes, and the first thing he noticed was that the floor seemed a lot further away then it had before.
Also Warriors staring at him in shock.
“What?” Wind asked, then startled at the way his voice echoed.
“You... you also swapped,” Warriors said in a somewhat strangled voice.
Wind blinked, then looked at his hands, feeling the current of power run through him, feeling so powerful that he could probably punch his way through the walls if he had to.
Which meant...
“I got Dad’s, didn’t I?” Wind said.
Warriors sat back down.
“...Yep.”

story time with spencer
sooo as many of you already know, i had my first tickle session with my lovely friend @daisylovestickles this weekend. if you want a run down of how we spent our time together you can check out her blog. i’m mainly just gonna ramble and give some of my thoughts on the whole thing here because daisy is much more organized than me (which was evident in the contrast of our hotel rooms lmao).
firstly, i just wanna emphasize how safe and comfortable i was the entire time. she checked in multiple times if i was comfortable, both with tickling and also just with cuddles and whatnot. her hugs, cuddles, kisses?? made me feel so much love and comfort and happiness. i told her this earlier but i’m not someone who gets to experience a lot of physical affection in my day to day life, so it really just.. meant the world to me. like god she’s shown me a new meaning to platonic love it’s. yeah.
now onto the tickling. daisy is sooo fucking ticklish, you guys. you don’t get it. i barely have to do anything to get her giggling and squealing. hell i tried to give her hands a massage and she was pulling away and giggling up a storm. i legit could listen to her laugh and see her smile for a week straight and it still wouldn’t be enough. also. hearing her ask me to tickle certain spots? yeah i nearly died 🫠 it was the cutest and most flustering shit ever. and she tied her shirt up for me and did so so well holding her arms up and aaahdjwhdkd guys i was flustered no matter what we were doing
also ler daisy??? shfkshfksjflshd. y’all. her teases and compliments and tickles? were so good. i went to bed saturday night with my ribs and shoulders still tingling from all the tickles she gave me 😵‍💫
here’s a list of things she did that were totally illegal and i’m definitely looking forward to having done again i mean what
• digging her thumbs into my armpits while scribbling her other fingers into my shoulder blades
• cooing over me and my reactions. and whispering in my ear. no
• nicknames. no i’m listing any of them ❤️
• rubbing my ribs. both the front and the back. aaaaagh.
• using the pursonic on my feet. yes it’s my pursonic yes i brought it shut up
• nuzzling into my tummy. and my neck. why is her nose so ticklish?????
• ticklish kisses. and just. the kisses in general. god i was blushing so much.
• the egg crack thing on the tops of my knees. holy fuck that’s not allowed especially with her nails.
i’m stopping myself because this is so much ammunition i’m giving y’all okay bye.
but thank you so much daisy for the incredible weekend and i’m so excited to see you again and hold you in my arms and tickle you to pieces 🧡🧡

games, m | myg
pairing(s): yoongi x reader
summary: You don't have a crush on Min Yoongi. You two are just fucking. Yup. You ignore him for two weeks because of Pokémon. Sorry. Twelve days. He's mad about it (and drunk?). Oh, shit.
warnings: rated M (18+) for language; OT6 are nosy so now it's somehow crack???? this always happens idk how; friends-with-benefits; soulmate vibes(?); ft my obsession Pokemon Scarlet / Violet; feels + smut (fem reader, penetrative sex, scratching, m-receiving oral, mutual masturbation, choking); non-idol!AU; switches between your POV and Yoongi's POV
--
“Yoongi?”
Wow, that was loud and unexpected. Knocked you right out of your very pleasant dream of stuffing your face at a buffet with thick, juicy slices of prime rib, complete with flakes of premium sea salt.
“YOONGI?!”
You could still almost taste it, but, like all dreams, the savory delight slipped away from you rapidly as you groggily blinked and realized you were resembling a croissant folded into this couch.
“You have a crush on Min Yoongi of all people?!”
Similar to the flaky buttery pastry, you had no idea what the fuck was going on. Unlike the product of a baker’s pride, sentient life required you to reorient yourself into humanity, hazily taking note of the MapleStory mushroom-printed blanket draped over you and your empty hands. Your hands had been holding your phone before you passed out. You were obsessed with mobile puzzle games recently. It was nice to have games on the go to occupy yourself instead of, bleh, socializing. It was awesome. When you figured them out too easily though, they made you sleepy.
Anyway, where the hell was your phone?
“Really?! Yoongi-hyung? Oh my gosh, he texted a human being all in his own? Wow!”
That kind of excitement could only be the voice of…
“Come on, guys, hyung’s been better about such things recently. He’s surprisingly sentimental, you know.”
And that sensible voice was none other than…
Someone snorted.
That was Kim Seokjin.
You rubbed your eyes to see a familiar man holding your very expensive Samsung smartphone with your customized Rotom phone case, poking at the screen as if he was his own.
“What kind of illegal activity are you doing over there?” you hummed as you sat up, knowing full well he did not possess access due to the fingerprint scanner. One time you snuck up on him as he tried to snoop on your phone. He had flung it, so this time you calmly stayed on the sofa as your longtime friend on the armchair jumped, thoroughly scaring himself and the lean, tan drink-of-sunshine standing behind him.
“You’re awake!” Seokjin blurted. Tall, gangly if you squinted, absolutely handsome, somehow always dancing on the edge of endearing caretaker and walking disaster, Kim Seokjin threw himself out of the plushy white armchair and shoved your phone into your face accusingly as if you were the one responsible of wrongdoing. His chestnut-brown poofy hair bounced as he relentlessly poked you in the head. “You’re texting Min Yoongi! Is that the one you have a crush on?!”
“Er, technically all hyung asked was when the group was meeting up…” Jung Hoseok squeaked, radiating apologies while Seokjin continued poking you in the head with his free hand. “I tried to tell him not to touch your phone.”
“I’m sure you did,” you replied. “I’m also sure he didn’t listen.”
“Hey. Answer me.”
“Hyung…” The concerned, deep voice was coming from the barstools in the kitchen behind you, in the don’t-annoy-her-that’s-rude-but-also-it's-not-my-place-to-scold-since-I’m-younger tone. Kim Namjoon, who was probably reading a book and drinking tea at the counter. He must have been banished there. The last time he had done the same activities in the living room, he had spilled tea all over Seokjin’s white rug. That had earned him a good yelling.
You glanced at Hoseok’s rueful expression and half-smiled, waving your hand to indicate you weren’t that bothered.
“I can’t believe you wouldn’t tell me.”
Kim Seokjin believed he needed to know such information about you because he had been your friend since your accountant mother started dragging you to house calls to a very specific home (mansion) in hopes of child you falling in love with the dashingly handsome son of one of her clients (she told his parents that it was because she couldn’t afford daycare, but even child you knew better). Instead, Seokjin and you became inseparable hopelessly addicted gaming fanatics that could not imagine each other naked without puking.
You did end up becoming inseparable. Just not in the way your mother wanted.
Oops.
“I don’t have a crush on Min Yoongi.”
“Oh yeah?” He said it in a high-pitched, disbelieving tone. You swatted his hand and snatched your phone from him, peering at the message preview. “Why is he texting you then, huh? HUH?”
Your phone vibrated.
Sorry to bother you. I would have texted Seokjin-hyung, but he’s annoying.
“He says you’re annoying.”
“Ex-cuse ME?”
“Here’s the proof.”
“EXCUSE HIM?!”
-
“What.”
“Let me in. It’s cold out here.”
“What are you doing here?” Kim Taehyung sputtered, obediently opening his apartment door to the slightly shorter, much more imposing figure of Min Yoongi. His long black hair was wild and windblown, puffy black parka zipped all the way up, hood out but useless at the moment. Light denim jeans and black boots crusted with snow. Nothing but his serious, intense demeanor made him imposing. Yoongi carefully kicked off the white ice before stepping in, slowly raising an eyebrow at Taehyung’s askew brown locks and rumpled gray sweat set.
“You’re not leaving like that are you?”
Taehyung frowned. “I’m not, duh. Jimin’s taking ages to use the bathroom. I think he fell in the toilet.”
“Hey! I heard that! Who’s out there?”
“You won’t believe it,” Taehyung shouted back to the disembodied voice coming from inside his apartment. He pushed his hair back from his eyes like he himself couldn’t believe it, revealing his classically handsome sharp features and stunned frown. “It’s Yoongi.”
“YOONGI?!”
The Min Yoongi, of the hour it seemed, rolled his eyes.
“What are you doing back there?” he called to the voice inside from the front hallway, not moving.
“Fixing my hair!” Park Jimin yelled back several decibels louder.
“I’m surprised,” Taehyung said, looking scowling Yoongi up and down like he was some kind of unidentified foreign object. “I thought you weren’t coming. Didn’t you say you were busy?”
“I made myself unbusy,” Yoongi grumbled back, pulling out his phone.
“You don’t make yourself unbusy for no reason.” Taehyung persisted, sticking his face in between Yoongi and his phone, making those cat-like eyes above narrow in annoyance.
“There’s alcohol.”
Taehyung wiggled his dark eyebrows. “I thought you were cutting back.”
Deadpan.
“Life’s shit, man.”
The younger male broke out into his boxy smile and booming laugh, pulling his head of brown curls back to double over. It was the combination of Yoongi’s dead-inside expression and monotone reply that was making Taehyung snort, that and Yoongi’s immediate return to his phone as if nothing was happening. Yoongi still made no move to actually step further into the apartment. He simply continued standing in front of the closed front door, on the welcome mat next to the shoes thrown about because Kim Taehyung couldn’t be neat unless he was impressing someone, and those people were not his best friend Park Jimin and unexpected-guest-but-still-friend Min Yoongi.
“You’re so funny, hyung.”
“I’m not.”
“Yes, you are.”
Yoongi raised his eyebrows as he stared at his phone and gave Taehyung absolutely fucking nothing to work with to continue the conversation.
“I guess you intend to drink since you stopped by here,” Taehyung chattered on, bored and unbothered about Yoongi’s lack of communication. “I’m closest to the train station and in between the karaoke bar. Plus sharing a taxi with us is cheaper than paying on your own.”
Silence.
Taehyung prodded Yoongi’s arm.
“Uh huh.”
Innovative answer.
“I think everyone is going to be there then,” Taehyung continued on, smooth baritone voice calming as he listed the people. “Namjoonie-hyung, Seokjinnie-hyung, Hoseokie-hyung, Jimin, Jungkookie, you, me…”
“Where’s Jungkook?”
“He’s asleep.”
Taehyung pointed to the couch. There was a blob of gray, black and white, too much fabric and face-down into the couch pillows. A poof of wavy black hair the only indication the pile was a human and not forgotten laundry.
“What is he, a newborn infant?”
“I don’t know. He said he was tired. If we don’t let him nap now, he’ll pass out during karaoke and we’re not strong enough to carry him out. Remember last time?” Taehyung sighed.
The monochrome blob that was supposedly the man named Jeon Jungkook suddenly snored, as if on cue.
“Yeah, I don’t know what he’s is doing in the gym but he’s unmovable,” Yoongi muttered.
The phone vibrated.
“Oh, is that me?” Taehyung immediately felt around his pockets and looked around. “Ah, where did I–”
But it was not him. Yoongi looked down. Unfortunately, you’ll bear witness to my awful singing. I apologize in advance. The corner of his lips ticked as he read the message. He breathed out. One, two, three, four seconds, and typed back. That makes the two of us then. A part of him thought he shouldn’t have started this conversation. He wasn’t good at this small talk thing, but one had to make some kind of effort in getting to know someone. And, anyway, he knew himself.
Do before getting carried away.
And, yeah, he wanted to know this one.
“I knew it.”
Yoongi slowly blinked, sensing an ominous presence staring at his phone screen, most certainly reading the name there. Sigh. He pulled his arm back and put his phone in his pocket, looking up to see the grinning, scheming, falsely-angelic face of Park Jimin looming into his peripheral view.
“Oooh, Min Yoongi has a crush.”
Yoongi said nothing, because saying nothing was better than reaching over and strangling Jimin. The latter would require physical effort. Oh, and perhaps land him in jail for murder. But that was only because Taehyung was here as witness.
“Huh… I thought I got a notification,” the latter commented, emerging from his bedroom with his uncased smartphone. Yoongi often wondered how Taehyung never cracked it, but perhaps he just bought new ones when he did. Taehyung often chose aesthetics over practicality. “Oh, finally, you’re out of the bathroom. Do I have to open a window to spare myself?”
“Tae, Yoongi-hyung has a crush,” Jimin sing-songed, bouncing around the older male teasingly as Yoongi remained statuesque. “He’s texting Seokjinnie-hyung’s lady gamer friend.”
Yoongi did not confirm or deny this information as Taehyung’s brown doe eyes went wide.
“OH?”
“Hyung’s flirting.”
Yoongi felt his right eyelid twitch.
“Jungkookie! Jungkookie, wake up, I have news!”
The blob trembled, suddenly alive, shaken violently by a hyper-excited Taehyung who couldn’t believe his ears even though he did not fact-check Jimin and had zero proof if his best friend was telling the truth or not. Apparently, he was filled with too much glee to relay this sudden revelation to the youngest, sleepiest one of the soon-to-be-drunk-as-fuck-karaoke group.
“W... Wuh?”
Unsurprisingly, Jungkook was not that articulate when barely roused from the dead.
“Yoongi-hyung’s flirting!”
Those big peepers snapped open.
“He’s WHAT?!”
-
“Mmm.”
The night smelled like smoke and someone’s delicious dinner.
“I should, ah, head home now that you’re safely at your door and all that.”
The winter night framed his figure. A halo of streetlamp light caught the gloss of his wavy black hair. Long and dark and shadowy, strands curling around high cheekbones and fair skin. He caught your gaze as you turned to face him. Black-brown eyes and unreadable expression. Half-zipped parka, black sweatshirt, and blue jeans with gray paint splattered onto one knee. No scarf. Strange, because you knew this man was the kind of guy who always wore a beanie and prioritized sensibility over aesthetics, and yet.
Min Yoongi raised his hands and exhaled into his curled palms, warming his nose at the same time. He looked away from you to do so.
“Cold?”
He shrugged. “It’s winter.”
You half-smiled, lifting your ungloved left hand. “My hands are always warm. My face always gets cold first before my hands.”
He eyed your fur-lined leather jacket. A chocolatey faux fur, softness peeking out from the tougher black fabric. Then his eyeline shifted. Intently observing your face. If you were younger, you might have thought you had to react differently. Been shy like the movies or some shit.
You simply waited, keeping your touch hovering in the winter night.
Slowly, you lowered your hand.
Something fluttered in the darkness that was those eyes. You had seen it before, maybe even spied it earlier this night. It was only a get-together between friends, drinks and karaoke, neither activity you particularly enjoyed which led to your original decision of not going. One small detail changed your mind, and he was standing right in front of you. Your singing was awful, but Yoongi was still polite enough to say that you were better than he was. I’m only good at rap. Sure. You heard what he said and his singing voice proved to contradict it. So Min Yoongi was that kind of liar, huh.
You didn’t say goodbye yet.
You could see Yoongi was waiting for you to say it first. You removed your other hand from your jacket pocket. Empty, purposefully leaving your keys behind. Calmly stared into those dark eyes as he stepped forward. You could feel it. The fire beneath the waves. Felt it all night. In the stolen glances, in the way he spoke to you, polite with piqued curiosity, in the way time stopped when your eyes connected.
You smiled.
His cold fingers touched the back of your hand.
You didn’t say anything. Didn’t need the conversation to be with words. His hand on yours, chills wrapping around the warmth. Experiential. Testing the feeling between you and him. You didn’t need to wonder what he thought of you. He had reached out and touched your hand and you let him, reaching between you and him to softly rub the back of his knuckles, silently speaking to those dark eyes and parted lips through touch. His other hand raised and laid above your joined hands.
Black strands curved around his cheeks as Yoongi lowered his head.
“Are you thinking what I’m thinking?” he whispered, smokey and dusky.
Bodies closer, breath mixing. Your head tilted. Lashes lowering. Cold night air disappearing because of the fire under the water, breath to breath, hot, almost burning, the desire to break the surface rising, rising.
“Is it this?” you murmured, barely audible.
You could tell a lot from one kiss. He did not hide his hesitancy or his want. Honesty from the very beginning of his lips on yours, surprised at the way you pressed back against him and inhaled, imprinting the moment to your memory with his scent. Your grip tightened and his did too, telling you everything you needed to know, kiss after kiss, pulling him to you, away from the winter night and memories of a friendly get-together, about to change them into something…
Else.
Yeah.
Fuck it, you were already pushing his parka down his shoulders before your front door finished closing. It was dark but that didn’t matter when you remembered where everything was, flicking on low lights and bringing his face close to yours again, creating the magical moments on your own, not waiting for Yoongi for do so. He was enough magic in his breathless gasps and the way he seamlessly followed the fervor of your kiss, his shallow sighs saturated with lust. There was very little talking except the conversation of bodies. Not much to say when you collided him into the wall and slid your hands under his sweatshirt, skin to warm skin, kisses turning to hot breath and flicks of tongue against his neck, shivers under your lips, and then he flipped the situation, strong hands on your shoulders and rolling against the wall, pinning you with his body.
Hair all over his eyes.
Shaking inhale.
A hall lamp lighting the left side of his face.
“Too fast?” you asked softly.
Dark orbs flickered to yours.
“… No.”
Closer, his air becoming your air.
“I just don’t want you to think this is the reason I walked you home. I didn’t want you to get hurt. Walking at night alone isn’t safe. People are crazy.”
You half-smiled. Alright, more of a smirk. “Maybe I’m one of them.”
A light chuckle, impressed and amused at the same time. “I was trying to sober up too.” Giving excuses.
“Heard you have a high tolerance.”
“Alcohol is alcohol.”
“So, does the alcohol wanna fuck me or do you?”
No one ever called you subtle.
Yoongi closed the distance, his hair falling against your forehead. You could tell he was struggling with himself whether or not to be swept up in the waves of your fire, or maybe struggling with what was wrong and what was right, or maybe he was hesitating once he felt your relentless energy under his hands, but you could also feel something pressing against your crotch and it wasn’t one of his legs.
He was very calm once he made his decision.
“What do you like?”
Your hands in his hair, his ear between your teeth, and his moan into your pillows. Clothes all over the floor, body to body, so much heat that you both seemed to forget it was winter. His hand on your breasts, your hard nipples between his fingertips, your mouth opening and extending your tongue, teasing him, tangling your legs in his. There was some irresistible about his smile and his smirk. You chased both, running your nails over his back and ass, his hard cock pressed to your thigh and his hiss against your neck, do you have condoms, we shouldn’t, but he didn’t need to finish since you were already prepared.
“I’m not irresponsible.”
“Oh?” Yoongi cocked an eyebrow. Glanced at your rumpled sheets, his naked body as he rolled down the condom, and then at your naked body. “Doesn’t seem like it.”
You just smirked.
You were often careful after the first time, following the energy of the other person rather than your own desires. But this time, something was different. Your hand would press to his chest, fingernails curling in, and, slowly, centimeter by centimeter, his length filling you, contented sighs mixing, raking your nails down, lines of pain in your wake, listening to his hitched breath, his eyes flashing.
He didn’t say it, but his voice was in his racing heartbeat and throbbing cock.
More.
Not quite competitiveness but more like pleasure from pushing the limit. There was a certain measure of reservedness, like how he waited patiently for you to lift your leg up onto his shoulder. First one, and then you tapped his other arm. Yoongi raised his eyebrows, but he lifted his other arm, hand back to your mattress once you were folded under him.
You lifted your hips up and rammed into his crotch.
He sucked in a growl and winced, screwing his eyes shut. Probably to avoid you seeing anything too embarrassing. You let your muscles slowly close in around him, squeezing his hardness, letting yourself feel him inside you. Appreciating. He didn’t move right away. You did, steadily fucking him from below, his chest against your thighs, keeping the smirk on your face to stay as infuriating as possible.
“Fucking… Are you enjoying this?”
Low and dangerous, sweet chills up your spine at his deep voice.
“Do you fuck without the intent of enjoying it?” you countered.
He narrowed his eyes and fucked you into your mattress. Merciless and hard and deliberate. Good rhythm, which you expected. Intensity over speed, which you did not expect. Yoongi knew what he was doing. He was not just chasing his own pleasure. There was no need to with the way that you were nearly sending him over the edge with the control of your own muscles. He slowed down for a moment, lifting a hand and tracing your jaw with his fingertips, whispers under his pants, you have nice lips, you know, the perfect shape, and you licked the air, the tongue is better.
Cocked eyebrow, open-mouthed smirk.
“I’ll have to find out next time.” He ticked his head downward. “You wanna get off with me?”
“I will if you fuck me hard enough.”
“You don’t have to pretend.”
“I’m not. You’ll feel it, trust me.”
You thrusted with him to get that depth you liked and he did, in fact, feel it.
“F-Fuck!”
You bit your lower lip and grinned, throwing your head back and feeling your moan vibrate in your chest, lengthening your high with the containment. Eyes closing, no more talking, your arms up and hands clutching the pillows, fucking him as he fucked you, his swears turning into moans as he felt your orgasm convulse around him, honey wetness sticking to your inner thighs and his, chasing a higher high, cutting off every one before the final crescendo, not letting yourself fully let go, not yet, almost there, not yet.
Saturating every second with vicious, hot pleasure.
Somehow Yoongi knew. Felt it, chased it with you, his muscles tense, rigid, holding back too, building the higher high, harder, steady, fuck, so good.
Your name tumbling from his throat, the warning, and his from yours, the moment, orgasm so intense you forgot to breathe for a second, suspended, and then the crash, gasping as you felt him twitch inside you and your walls pulse, electricity shooting through your nerves, tingling and euphoric, gripping your pillows covered in your hair as Yoongi leaned forward and covered you in his hair and hot breath, colliding kiss matching the escalating beats of racing hearts.
Yoongi stared into your eyes much later, all his clothes back on.
“What?” you asked.
“Just memorizing your eyes.”
He kissed you.
-
“Love is more circumstance than fate.”
“I always thought so, too.”
These kinds of things came up in conversation around others. These were moments that happened by happenstance. For instance, in the middle of Taehyung’s tirade about how true love was definitely fate between two beings who had a connection unique to themselves that could not be replicated, and he deliberately ignored Yoongi when he pointed out that every connection one had with another was unique because it was between two individuals.
You and Yoongi shared a look of faint amusement in the midst of Taehyung’s abrupt soapbox speech.
Hoseok blinked and repeated his question of whether or not he suited the acorn-shaped pouch that was slightly overpriced despite being on sale. Namjoon injected and said that if he has asking then it meant that he was hesitating. Seokjin told him who cares, just buy it, it’s cute. That was enough convincing for Jung Hoseok. He brought it on the spot.
You found Yoongi afterward, waiting for you around the corner.
“Oh. I thought you went home.”
He looked at you, lowering the hood of his parka.
“I thought about it, but it had been a while since I appreciated the night.”
Then there was silence, until you were close, and then those dark eyes stayed on you, tendrils of black between you and him. Your fingertips touched the button placket of his coat. His head lowered. His breath had a little sweetness to it because of the Korean liquor. You kissed him.
You closed your eyes when you did.
You didn’t say much more.
You didn’t really look at his apartment when you arrived. You were too entangled in the lip lock and pinning his wrists to the wall. Heat pressed to heat. His tongue thrusting between your lips. The cold rapidly defrosting once skin was against skin.
Your nails down his chest.
Heavy exhale, burning anticipation.
You didn’t need to ask yourself, why am I like this. People spent years wondering on their own, but those years were already behind you, in lonely nights of both your parents working overtime and you alone at the table doing homework, cooking your own meals, cleaning up after yourself. If you wanted the video games to distract your brain, you had to be a good daughter. Being a good daughter was not that hard. Do all the things you were supposed to do and take up as little mental space as possible.
Something like that.
You ran your tongue along the inside of Yoongi’s thigh and savored his shudder.
The only detail that slightly annoyed your mother was that you weren’t interested in marrying Seokjin and Seokjin was clearly not interested in marrying you. Not much she could do about that. She gave up on asking for those kinds of details after that, mostly to avoid her own disappointment.
You wrapped your tongue around hot, taut skin, controlling the pressure of your tongue and lips. Up, down, tongue moving independently along the underside of the head, so precise that you saw his fingers sink into his sheets, surprise rippling over his features. Raised an eyebrow at him, letting the amusement show.
Yoongi smirked, a look that suited him very much.
All the way down, hitting the back of your throat. Easy. Guess a lot of people could call you a whore for that but, then again, the ones who actually knew were probably too busy pining over the fact that they would never feel it once more. Didn’t help that you acted as if it never happened once you were done.
You had dedication to games, but to people?
Not really.
It was fun to figure out people. It was fun discovering Yoongi. His sounds, every sigh, the tone of his moan, the way his breath shook when you took him deep and slow. He became very hard every time you went as deep as possible, past the point of breathing. He didn’t try to push your head or interfere with your pace. It was as if he trusted your movement, which was what he should do, because you knew what you were doing.
You swirled your tongue around the head as you went down.
He sucked in a gasp and closed his eyes, visible tension over his chest.
There was a strange familiarity to his movements. That was the only way you could describe the ease of reading his body language. Sometimes you let yourself feel the extent of the pleasure and sometimes you let the pressure build in your body to wallow in the torture of the buildup, like what he was doing now. He wanted to last, so you made it last. Not too fast. Tongue all over his hard, pulsing length, slowing down at the right moment of his hips shivering, layering the intensity again, stroking his balls as you sucked him, spreading the dripping saliva all over.
You hadn’t been having sex with Yoongi for very long, but it felt like you already knew his body.
You let him consider the possibility of you not letting him cum and then you continued the intensity, pushing him over the edge.
“… F-Fuck…!”
Rammed the throbbing head down your throat and felt his thick, salty orgasm spurt into the confines, leaking over your tongue and the roof of your mouth, breathing in to push it back. His hips involuntarily jerked and you immediately reached up to grip them and shove him back down, swallowing around the harsh pulses.
You heard Yoongi moan, low and sweet and erotic.
People were like games.
Only few had replay value.
-
He thought about saying something, but there wasn’t much to say.
It was his policy to not make something out of nothing. Grander, more general things, sure, he kept those ambitions. But, day-to-day, he learned it was better to go with the flow. You didn’t have disappointments if you didn’t expect much to begin with, so Yoongi didn’t expect much and let himself feel what he wanted to feel.
Like his hands on those thighs and pressing delicious legs to his chest as he sank in.
He tended to enjoy the fucking on top simply because it was easier for him. Most of the time, he didn’t feel much need to experiment or be creative. Most of the time, they weren’t worth it. Her? He fucked her in every position he could think of. This time, he felt the urge to fuck with most of his clothes on, with her holding up his shirt as he thrust into her on the edge of the bed. Not the most optimal position for maximum pleasure, but the arousal in the unnatural movement was enough to get him off.
Her too.
He could tell by the unforgiving clenching around his cock and the sopping wetness that was sticking to his balls, which was causing him to last minutes. You would think the human body would last longer if it felt better, so the pleasure could be felt more extensively, but his dick was much more interested in the instant gratification it was getting.
Oh, well.
He would have to fuck multiple times then, to prolong the pleasure.
She was the one to ask him first. Meeting without the false alibi of just happening to be at the same gathering at the same time. He went with the flow. Their fingertips touching. Her leaning in and kissing his collarbone, lips so soft that they made his nerves spark and muscles shiver, tilting his head back as her tongue traced a thin line upwards, wet heat against his pulse, her hand falling from his hand, tracing his neck.
“Choke me,” he whispered.
Yoongi liked doing things for the sheer curiosity of it.
She sucked on his ear when she choked him and electrified his whole body with lust, his hands finding her hips and slamming them down on his crotch, moaning into her ear shamelessly.
Yoongi knew he got himself into moments like this.
It wasn’t anyone’s fault but his own.
His fingers buried into her wet, warm pussy and he inhaled, drinking in the sweet scent of her juices, in, out, so good, the feeling of power and pleasure at his fingertips, tactile and visceral and intense. Staring into those piercing eyes with one hand around his neck and the other around his hard cock, choking both until he came on her thigh and hip, but not before she came onto his fingers, pushing himself to the brink with his forearm vibrating. Ended up being sore the next day.
Worth it.
Yoongi told himself to do before getting carried away.
He was getting carried away, especially when he was alone.
His shaking breath, breathe in, breathe out, high on the bliss, their lips colliding, covered in each other, salty, sweet, sticky, closer but not, and it was nobody’s fault but his own, because he always thought about saying something, but didn’t.
There wasn’t much to say.
He looked into those eyes, and he didn’t want to say anything. Just wanted to appreciate their shape, their color, the feeling they gave him when he gazed into them, like he could live million lifetimes but recognize those eyes every time. A strange kind of familiarity that didn’t have an explanation. He had known Kim Seokjin for a while, but Seokjin was protective of his female friends, especially his most important one.
So, Yoongi stayed respectful until his brain started getting carried away because his dick wasn’t doing enough.
Well.
He tried.
-
“I gotta ask you something.”
“You can ask me after you press A, you dimwit.”
“I am pressing A. It’s lagging!” Seokjin growled, bopping you on the arm. You continued leaning against his broad shoulder as the Pokémon raid loaded up. “Are you dating Yoongi?”
“Mmm,” was your reply as you pressed the buttons in order. Battle, Swords Dance, on your Ceruledge. Had to get the setup going to do the most damage before your stats become nullified. The raids in Pokémon were meant to convince players to participate in online play, but math and logic could help you solo or duo them quite easily. You needed Seokjin there so you had one less idiot AI. In fact, Seokjin only purchased this generation of Pokémon to help you out in certain things. Raids and completing the Pokédex. He wasn’t as attached to the series as you were. He played so he could understand what you meant when referencing it, but he wasn’t that invested.
He was a good friend.
“Are you or not?”
“Don’t think it’s any of your business,” you responded absentmindedly, reaching over to command his statistically-perfect Arboliva that you gifted him for this very purpose to perform Helping Hand. You might as well have been doing this raid alone. Seokjin was basically simply a spare console accompanied by a warm body.
For now.
Kidding… unless?
Nah, he was too much fun to tease.
“It is my business. You’re my friend, he’s my friend and, if you two are dating, it’ll make the group all weird.”
“Your friend group is already all weird.”
Seokjin prodded you in the head as you selected Bitter Blade for your attack move. “Be serious.”
“Ask him.”
“I did. He said to ask you.”
“Huh.”
Silence.
“… I’ll kill him if he abandons you.”
You couldn’t pause the raid. It was timed and the raid Pokémon had to be defeated in that time, or you would get kicked out. You didn’t say anything. Just kept pressing buttons, turning automatic.
“Well, I won’t kill him. I’ll make Jungkook kill him.”
Reaching over Seokjin, who did nothing to help you. He just held the Switch as you selected the correct moves and thought about who you needed to raise next. Maybe a Gardevoir. You needed more special attackers to avoid Abilities like Cursed Body and the Burn status condition.
Seokjin was suddenly quiet.
“… You think he’d do that?” you finally said, not quite sure what you meant in asking that.
You felt a hand on your head, bringing you closer to broad shoulders and his game.
“I don’t know.”
One thing about Seokjin was that he always told the truth.
-
“Are you getting your dick wet or what?”
Yoongi blinked slowly.
“What?”
“Jimin, you can’t ask that,” Hoseok scolded, whacking Jimin’s chopsticks with his own to punish the younger male because the walking sunshine was too pure-hearted to physically strike Jimin. “Eat your food.”
Jimin thinned his plump lips and gave Yoongi the side eye instead of eating his meal like Hoseok told him to. “I think you are. I feel it.”
Yoongi made the executive decision to ignore Jimin and continue serving himself the soup, adding plenty of vegetables. “Hoseok, haven’t you been working a lot lately? You need to eat more meat. You’re getting too thin.”
“You sound like my parents, hyung,” Hoseok laughed jovially as Yoongi added extra slices of marinated beef onto his plate. “Thanks, thanks.”
“Don’t avoid the question,” Jimin continued, buzzing away like a determined bee.
“I get it wet every day. It’s called a shower.”
“You know what I mean.”
“And I answered you.”
Jimin squinted under his fluffy auburn locks. “You’re sussy.”
“Huh?” Hoseok blinked rapidly, cocking his head. “Sussy?”
“Suspicious. Taehyung taught me.”
Hoseok’s lips curled into a round ‘o’, seemingly filing away this new lingo. “Man, sometimes I feel so old around you and Taehyung even though I’m only a year older.” The bustling restaurant complimented his cheerful voice, warm smells and fragrant conversation mixing with the clinking of plates and glasses. He reached over the table, patting Yoongi on the shoulder. “I’m glad you’re talking to someone though. I thought you were going to die alone.”
Those cat-like eyes shifted away.
“… Thanks.”
Nothing more.
“Uh oh, there’s trouble in paradise already.”
“Is something wrong?” Hoseok asked, frowning slightly at the older male’s reaction.
Yoongi sighed, and shook his head.
“It’s nothing. There’s not much to say about it.”
Hoseok caught on right away, nodding intently. “Right! Speaking of, Jimin, I heard you are leading a theater production all on your own.”
“A-Ah, just the choreography for the songs…” A small hand attempted to wave away Hoseok’s sudden unwavering excitement. “Really, it’s not that serious…”
“Yes, it is! A musical! With weeks and weeks of shows…!”
Yoongi avoided looking at his phone all night. He kept his eyes forward and focused on the conversation with his friends. If he didn’t, he would be stuck in his thoughts, wondering what all those nights really meant if all he had now was silence and a loveholic’s hangover he didn’t ask for.
-
“Oh, shit.”
Those were the first words you had spoken to a real, physical, in-the-flesh human being in a long time (Seokjin didn’t count). First words you had spoken all day, actually. Wait. Maybe you exclaimed out loud, you little fucker, get in the damn ball, earlier. Highly probable. No need to censor yourself when you were at home.
“You have left me on read for two weeks.”
“Oh… shit.”
After the shock had set in, the cold suddenly became apparent. It was winter, after all. Extra obvious by the snow on the ground and the big black parka the person outside your door was wearing, although the red flush around his neck and cheekbones was not from the icy breeze.
“Two weeks,” the man at your front door repeated with a growl, and he started advancing which, in most cases, would be a sign to call the police.
“Surely,” you sputtered, fumbling with your phone in your other hand, letting go of the knob because the screen was tab after open tab of various Pokédex entries of the Pokémon you were considering spending your previous in-game money on to make statistically perfect. Ahem, anyway, you hurriedly changed apps to your Messages app, your eyes widening as you saw the dates of your last messages.
Oh shit.
“Actually, it’s only been twelve days–”
“Twelve days of nothing,” he snapped, slamming closed your front door that you were honestly slightly grateful for. It was fuckin’ cold out there. “And what do I hear tonight? Just yesterday you were speaking to Jeon Jungkook on the phone.”
And, at this point, Min Yoongi got in your face.
You held your phone close to your purple sherpa pullover and stepped back as a stern, gracefully annoyed expression confronted you. Wild long black hair, furrowed eyebrows, and flashing dark eyes. Flushed pink lips twisted into irritation. Open jacket revealing his black sweater and light blue jeans, strange for such a cold night.
“Have you been drinking?” you observed, catching a whiff of his exhale.
“I’m not drunk,” Yoongi countered, backing up and scowling. “I was at Namjoon’s and then I remembered you lived nearby. So, I walked.”
“You… walked?”
“Yeah.”
You blinked slowly.
“Kim Namjoon… if you’re walking… that’s about an hour away….”
The scowl straightened out, leaving a stoic profile as Yoongi refused to look at you.
He grunted.
You were surprised.
“I… Jeon Jungkook called me.” You felt the sudden urge to fill the space of silence as the man before you kept his gaze at a firm ninety-degrees to the wall despite your face being right there. “He was worried about Seokjin, because he kept trying to call him. Seokjin had sent him a box of grapes from his uncle’s farm and Jungkook was trying to thank him via call because his mom told him he couldn’t simply text, but Seokjin wasn’t answering the calls and then Jungkook got worried so he called me since I have Seokjin’s family number but then I reminded Jungkook that that rich guy and his family went to a luxurious mountain resort to go skiing and wouldn’t be back until next weekend,” you finished in a jumbled mess of oversharing.
Silence.
You were highly aware that your Nintendo Switch was loudly playing the classic, cheery jingle of the Pokémon Center in your bedroom, echoing the bright notes throughout your apartment as, er, your possibly-soon-to-be-past fling? current interest? situation-ship? continued staring at the wall as if the paint was the one speaking to him.
To reiterate, you were surprised.
“I… I didn’t think you cared,” you explained, looking up at Yoongi.
He turned his head.
Looking down, black hair around his cheeks. Lashes lifting, slow motion, dark brown orbs raising, then the darkness was on you, and there was no anger, no malice, the heated air of his rash imposition fizzling out once your eyes connected.
His lips parted.
Nothing came out, as if he was about to say something emotional but then stopped himself. His brows knitted together, a moment of recollection, and then.
“Namjoon said I should be honest, so I’m here to tell you that you pissed me off by ignoring me,” he mumbled.
You blinked. Slowly, once again.
“O… Oh. I apologize.”
Silence except heartbeats.
Yoongi looked away.
You could piece the entire picture together now. Your eyes shifted, side to side, to his hands shoved in his jacket pockets, to the faint tint of pink around his ears and neck, to his relaxed shoulders and that tense heart, and you were surprised because Yoongi had always held himself with a devil-may-care attitude and straightforward bluntness. Not that you didn’t think there was more, but rather it seemed as if he didn’t want to address that under any circumstances and you had no need for more when you were your own happiness, and so you asked him another question.
“Is this you or the alcohol talking?”
Yoongi clicked his tongue and frowned, flickering glare meeting you. “Alcohol doesn’t make you a different person. I’m not someone else just because I had a few bottles with Namjoon. I have a high tolerance anyway.”
You smiled.
“I know. Wanted to make sure you were thinking the same thing I was.”
That was why Yoongi and you ended up in this situation. Because he seemed to always end up thinking the same thing you were. There wasn’t much discussion or mystery. There was you and there was him in the same place at the same time. Multiple times. Overlapping interests, but not all the same. Kept things interesting. Discovering you had the same core values and then the same kind of comfortable silence that turned into his hand on yours, experimental, are you thinking what I’m thinking, bodies closer, breath mixing, heads tilting, is it this?
Playing the game.
The Pokémon Center music faded out and then picked up again, always aggressively joyous, always ready to nurse your team back to full health.
You rubbed the back of your head sheepishly. “Hah… I’ve just… been playing the new Pokémon game came out recently, so I took time off to play it… thought I said…”
“You did say,” he interrupted.
Awkward pause.
“You did say,” and this time Yoongi sighed, suddenly smacking his palm into his forehead and rubbing it, mussing up his own hair. “You did say, and I believe everyone should enjoy something with the kind of passion you exhibit for your interests. I just wanted you to involve me even though I know nothing.”
You stared at him.
“What?”
“You heard me.”
“Why would I involve you in something you don’t care about?”
“I don’t care about it yet.”
“Why would you care about it?”
He flung his hand away from his face and scowled. “Are you an idiot?”
“Depends, are you confessing?”
Again, no one ever called you subtle.
Frigid embarrassment, and it wasn’t from you. Shocking. Suddenly your wall became irresistible to Yoongi’s eyeballs once more. You patiently waited.
“… No.”
“Ah. I see.”
You did see, straight through his bullshit.
Yoongi pursed his lips and gave you the side-eye. “I don’t want to play games.”
You shrugged. “Well, I do, because I’m a nerd, and I could make you a nerd too if you take off your shoes and come to the bedroom.” Chewed on your lip and felt that you should go back to being serious, at least for a moment. “I am sorry. I thought you would call me a kid, and I like you enough to not want you to be so ignorant, so I especially avoided speaking much about playing Pokémon. Honestly, I would rather hear you say that you don’t want to see me anymore than hear you talk shit about my cute pocket monster friends.”
Yoongi surprised you again.
He rolled his eyes.
“I don’t hate Pokémon. I used to watch the animation as a kid. I somewhat regret not being more into it, because then maybe you would have let me in a lot more if we had that common interest.”
You cocked an eyebrow.
“Putting your dick in my pussy is not letting you in a lot more?”
He raised an eyebrow back.
“You’re right. That was the alcohol talking,” he replied in a deadpan voice.
You smiled.
He smiled back. It did not seem like he wanted to and it did not seem like he could help himself either. What a predicament. You couldn’t relate.
“Do people like to tell you you’re difficult?” you asked with too much glee, unable to hide your amusement any longer.
The corner of his lips twitched. “All the fuckin’ time.”
You nodded knowingly. “Did you know we have that in common?”
He ticked his head at you, messy black hair over his cheeks and open-mouthed smirk. “Strangely enough, I seem to have learned that tonight.”
“I’m about to teach you a lot more, this time about Pokémon and not about how deep I can throat dick.”
“Consider giving me a supplemental lesson about the latter in the morning when I’m completely sober.”
“Hmm, I accept if can you listen without falling asleep.”
Yoongi eventually did fall asleep, but he did last three hours and retained most of the information in the morning despite being a drunk, ahem, not drunk (according to him) man confessing his feelings at your doorstep. In the future, once he had purchased his own game and was playing alongside you, he would insist that moment was not the one when he confessed, that he definitely confessed later (sober, mind you), and that he definitely did not purchase a Nintendo Switch and start studying the Pokédex more because of you (he had simply found the game a good way to wind down).
Games were just more fun to play now when he had a player two.
Yeah.
We know better.

Finally, this one was yours.
You couldn’t help feeling a little giddy. This star yacht was definitely on the higher end of luxury, and it’d been sat unmanned on the outskirts of town for five days straight. Sure, it’d been purposely tucked away amongst sandy cliffs to hide it, but as per the general moral code, five unattended days on a ship put it on the illegal scavenger’s market. Fair’s fair. You thieves weren’t monsters, after all.
Your expert fingers worked swiftly with a wedge tool on lifting the panels from the front of the space vehicle to get at all those glorious parts inside. With a satisfying click, the central panel popped free.
The sun was just peering over the horizon to light your focus, all that treasure lit up in the golden light.
Your smile lit up too. Finally. A haul that was all yours. For once, it was so worth it to wake up before sunrise. No one to watch out for, not even that stupid, arrogant, condescending-
“What have we got here?”
You stopped in your tracks, fingers itching to get inside the engine.
That voice.
Infuriating.
He painted his words like a casual conversation. Like this was a joint effort. Like you hadn’t specifically woken up this early just to beat him to this goldmine. You’d barely slept last night for the excitement of finally bringing in a collection worth a good wad of cash, and yet he had the gall to pop up beside you and peer over your shoulder.
You reeled on him, fire in your eyes and sharp wedge in your hand. “Andor. Get out of here.”
He had the balls to laugh. He treated this so light, like you hadn’t been so determined to finally outdo him. “And leave you to carry all this back by yourself? I couldn’t possibly.” He had this irritating skill in being rude while being perfectly within his bounds. He simply reached past you without concern for your threat, rapping his knuckles lightly on various parts tucked away. “There’s a lot of good stuff here. Nice condition, too. We can’t take all of it, of course, we don’t want an angry holidaymaker stuck on our planet-”
“You’re taking none of it.”
“-But we can take the extras. Let me see…”
He bent at the waist to lean over the hole of the removed panel, reaching in and feeling around without so much as a blink at you.
That was it!
You jabbed the wedge into his ribs.
His arm retracted so quickly to protect his side, and he finally turned to you with narrowed eyes and a furrowed brow as he rubbed his side over his coat. “Agh! What the-!? What was that for?”
“Shut up, I barely touched you.” You couldn’t keep the smugness from your voice as you nudged him aside, away from your engine, and promptly took his place to rummage around inside instead. It’s true, you wanted him to feel that jab even despite his coat. It was kinda hard.
“You want it so bad that you’re gonna stab me?”
“Don’t cry on my engine, you’ll rust it.”
There was no time for this chitchat. You dipped into your belt for a different removal tool, starting work right away. You wouldn’t remove anything integral: those parts weren’t worth much anyways. But the fuel ignition stabiliser… Oh, yes. It was a luxury. Gave the journey the smoothest ride possible. No clattering, no trembling of the ship. It’d be four or five thousand credits, easily.
If only it wasn’t so damn hard to remove.
You were hyper aware of Andor watching your every move, even if you were shoulder deep inside the machine. His stare didn’t make reaching around components easier in the slightest, and your arm was bent at an awkward and supremely uncomfortable angle- but you wouldn’t let him know that. He’d just take over, for sure.
But when the corner of your palm nicked on sharp metal, you couldn’t hide the wince.
“Look, you’re going to injure yourself. Let me. Move over.”
“Not likely.”
“I’ve been doing this longer than you. I can easily-”
“Exactly! So you should give someone else a chance.” You tried not to let your voice strain from the effort of pulling out the stabiliser, especially with the fresh scratch to your palm. This was not easy, and he was really just making you frantic with his presence.
“Whenever I give you a chance, something ends up damaged!” Ah, there it was. That familiar exasperation, delivered with a growl in his accent. This was the Andor you knew best-- the one that hated you right back.
You paused, face turned to glare up at his impatient eyes. “Sir. I don’t damage shit.”
“If that makes you feel better. Come on, just-” His fingers reached into the hatch and closed around your forearm, a gentle squeeze and tug to your limb.
That was it. You saw red.
“Don’t you manhandle me- AH!” You whipped your arm out to shove him back a pace-- But it caught nastily on that jagged piece of metal. It snagged down the side of your palm, causing a deep, pulsing gash. There was no way you could shove him back with that hand.
Your face paled as you dropped your tool and blinked at the thick ooze of red that trickled down the side of your wrist, quickly soaking your sleeve. It stung like nothing you’d handled before, eyes watering, head pounding. You couldn’t help but stare at it, trembling.
But Andor was on it. He wasted no time in ripping along the bottom of his shirt for a makeshift bandage, wasted no time in chastising you. “Dank farrik, you really-! You’ve outdone yourself this time.”
“Me!? This was all you!”
“Oh, don’t give me that.” Skilled hands wound the bandage around your cut far too tightly to be comfortable, and you winced. But he paid no mind, quiet in his concentration as he worked. His aura had changed, as if his head was now cut off from communication. He was too focused, brimming with a panic that he kept silent.
Something told you there was no speaking to him now. Even if you tried to reason that you’d had so much worse many times, his tunnel vision was fixed on stenching the bloodflow. He tied the bandage off, clasping your hand firmly in both of his, raised between your faces to make sure it was above your heart. You had to actively try not to yelp from the pain of his care, but something about the urgent responsibility he demonstrated was so sincere.
He really was doing his best for you. You almost felt bad for blaming him.
His eyes were so focused, his lips pressed together in a concentrated line. There was no trace of that demeaning, condescending asshole you were used to. Something about this… Hm. Perhaps he wouldn’t be a terrible-
No, don’t think like that, you chastised yourself, peeling your gaze from his face. You couldn’t let yourself see him like that. He’d made your life hell for years.
Though the pain was dulled with the pressure of his hold, you were far from fine. The blood may have slowed, but it soaked the ends of his own sleeves now, too, and continued to spread.
“Let’s get you back home. You need medical attention.”
“But the stabiliser-”
“No. Home. Let’s go.” He didn’t drop your hand as he took a step away, leading you back towards the centre of the town, but you dug your heels into the sand.
“No, just- Quickly! You do it, we can go half-”
He jerked you close, face leaning to yours. Your eyes grew wide at this proximity- he’d never been this close before. The warm hues of his eyes caught the rising sunlight, lashes casting delicate shadows over his irises.
Despite how your memories always painted him, they were kind eyes. Honest ones. It was his furrowed brows that reminded you how sharp his will was, and the growl of his accent rolled over his words as he hissed.
“Listen to me. There will be more ships, but there will not be more hands. I’m taking you home, and for once you’re not going to argue with me.”
Tumblr media
The bleeding had finally stopped by the time he’d taken you to his home. Certainly, you’d have preferred some professional medical care, but this would have to do. Besides, it’s not like what you were doing to get this gash was particularly legal.
He settled you onto the couch before bustling around you, picking up supplies and towels and wipes as he went, soon appearing beside you with a tray of items to help, including a bowl of fresh water and…
“A needle? There’s no chance. You’re not stitching me up, Andor.”
“I am. Bee, come over here.”
A squat little red box rattled to life from the other side of the room and rolled up to Andor’s feet on treads, clattering the whole way. “C-C-Cassian! That was much q-quicker than usual.”
“I didn’t get the parts. There was an accident.” Andor placed the tray atop the droid’s flat head and the circle lens turned to you instead, honing in on the blood.
“Oh n-n-no, there has been bodily damage to your friend. I can aid.” The droid either ignored your grumble of something about ‘not friends’ or just didn’t receive it. It let a hatch fall open, revealing a collection of packaged gauzes. You marvelled at his endearingly happy disposition, despite the broken antiquity of his model, obvious wiring problems, and living with this man. You already knew you liked him more than Andor.
“Thanks, Bee,” the man said, surprisingly gentle hands taking your arm. He was clean now, coat removed and hands sanitised to peel open the soaked fabric wrapped around your wound. It stuck to your arm hairs from how it’d begun to dry and you winced as it tugged from your skin, but this didn’t knock his concentration.
He eyed the open injury for a moment in silence. The soft sounds of the city waking up outside was muffled against the windows, the bell sounding for the residents to begin their day. And yet, you’d already had too much of this man for the whole week.
But, he was doing you a favour. So, you pressed your lips into a line and arched a brow as he investigated your wound like it was life or death, even though you honestly found the aching sting pretty manageable. You tried to keep your patience in line, you really did. But it was almost like he was specifically taking as long as he could. “You gonna do something about it or not, Andor?”
The sharpness of your tone didn’t bother him in the slightest. “Cassian,” he said.
“What?”
“Just call me Cassian. It’s not like you don’t know me.” He was so matter-of-fact as he spoke, turning away to dunk a clean cloth into the bowl of warm water, and you had to briefly wonder if he had no idea that you hated him.
Pft, of course he knew. But he really chose not to entertain it. He belittled it, even. Somehow, that made you hate him even more.
“I don’t know you.”
He let a trickle of water drip from the rag, holding it over the wound along your palm to loosen up the dried blood; the sting earned a hiss from you, but he didn’t bat an eyelid. “We’ve been bumping into each other since we were teenagers. I know where you live and you’re in my house right now. My mother knows your name. You know me.”
Okay, that was true. You searched for a way to dispute him, but you had nothing. Andor really knew how to- Cassian. Cassian really knew how to talk people into a corner. Infuriating.
“Fine.”
“You should say it.”
“Say what?”
“My name.”
You blinked at him, but he didn’t look at you. He was ridiculous. Methodical as ever, he dipped the cloth back into the water before closing it properly around the side of your palm with a wet squeeze.
A sharp stab of pain.
“Ow, Cassian! Gentle!”
His gaze finally raised to yours, and there was a cheeky light to them that matched the slightest upward quirk of his lips. He’d done that on purpose. “Quiet. Maarva’s sleeping.”
“You’re an ass.”
“So you always tell me.”
You let that one slide, quietly amused.
Somehow, it felt like a bubble had burst as he continued cleaning your wound. He was gentle with you, focused but not nearly so intense, and an easy silence lapsed between the two of you. The negative energy had given out into something else-- Somehow, you couldn’t find it in you to be at his throat like before. You must’ve upgraded to handling Cassian instead of Andor, you mused.
His eyes flashed up to yours, seeking any pain. You held his gaze for the shortest moment before turning it back to your wound, somehow embarrassed to look into the uncharacteristic tenderness of those windows. Satisfied that he wasn’t hurting you, he continued with delicate dabs.
Perhaps you’d made up Andor, this arrogant, cold asshole who’d been your rival for eons; Now, you were seeing past it. Seeing the human he actually was. Perhaps not flaunting of his kind nature, perhaps a little guarded, but peaceful. Cheeky, but by no means cruel.
You watched his hands work expertly with yours. One held your hand, thumb linked with yours, the other so careful with the cut running towards your pinky finger. They were a worker’s hands, a little calloused and rough in handling, but you could easily see how gentle he was trying to be. Taking it slow and steady, careful not to hurt.
“Okay, it’s clean. Can I stitch it?” Those eyes on yours again. Deep but cautious. He reached for the needle, medical thread already attached, and showed it to you.
You swallowed and peered down to the gash. Ah, it really was a deep one, it’d scar for sure. It needed all the help it could get. “You know what you’re doing?”
He nodded, the ghost of a laugh to his voice as he recalled his tens of incidents. “I have done this many times.”
“... Be careful.”
He got to work instantly, taking your hand in his and turning the cut upwards, holding it firm to keep it still. He glanced at the tip of the needle, brought it to your flesh and--
You couldn’t watch. You focused instead on his crown of messy hair. Warm brown, some strands lifted to look golden in the shine of the morning light. You could so easily reach out and touch it, see if it was as soft as it loo-
The prick of pain from the needle. You winced, but tried hard to be still for him, desperately focusing your attention on how those gorgeous locks might fall through your fingers if you touched them, how they’d differ to the coarser hair of his beard in your touch.
You gave a sigh. It was happening. You couldn’t push it away anymore.
People had told you for years that you clearly had a crush on this man, and you were adamant that you did not. He’d been the bane of your existence. He was the worst part of salvaging and stealing components. If you bumped into him, it’d ruin your whole day and you wouldn’t be able to shake him from your thoughts for hours. His annoying tone of voice, the haughty way he’d offer to help you.
But that wasn’t the truth. You’d always painted it so negatively, always convinced yourself that’s what it was. Hate. But honestly, you just never wanted to give into what you hated to admit.
And now, here, on his couch with a B2 unit watching, he’d shattered your narrative to pieces.
You felt things for him, and not in the way you wanted.
“And… Done.” He reached aside for scissors to cut the thread, dabbed a clean, dry cloth to any specs of blood that tried to seep out, and scrutinised his work. “That wasn’t so bad, was it? You did well.”
His eyes fixed on you again, relieved and expectant. He was so genuine. How hadn’t you seen it before?
You cleared your throat and diverted your eyes to your hand, inspecting his repairs. It really did look good. The gash was pulled closed and the stitches were evenly spaced and clean; a professional couldn’t have done it much better.
“Hm. Not quite as terrible as I’d expect.” Your words were softer than your usual insults. You couldn’t find it in you right now to be sharp.
But even so, he gave a low chuckle. “You’re welcome. Let me cover it.” He took a packaged gauze from the droid’s hatch and tore it open with his teeth-- A shock to your tummy told you that you found it attractive. It was lucky he was engrossed with attaching it to your wound, or he would’ve caught the way your ears flushed pink.
Quick moments passed, and he sat up straight with his lips caught in a kind smile. “Good as new.”
Your hand still rested in his. You were hyper aware of the warmth of it, the feeling of his skin, and it took everything in you not to disturb the moment with the indulgent caress you craved, in case he let go.
This was too hard. You hadn’t banked on facing something like this when you woke up this morning. You shared a reluctant smile.
His demeanour changed instantly. His eyes flickered between your palm and your face, words urgent with worry. “What’s wrong?”
“N-nothing, Cassian. Do you think the yacht is still there?”
“It might be.”
You sighed inwardly. Perhaps it was finally time to let go of your grudge and see him for who he was.
You shone a daring smile, a buzz in your veins at the prospect of calling an end to your rivalry.
“... Wanna go half with me?”

How did Yang meet or find Panther Blake?
Hey! So, I've been going off of my "Weclome to Beacon Zoo" fic over on AO3 for that, but I can come up with an Alternative meeting/finding for fun!
*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*
Yang: (visiting a roadside animal park) Uh... Dad, why are we here? All these animals look... depressed.
Taiyang: Oh, come on, Yang. It wouldn't be a family road trip unless we stopped by the local animal park!
Ruby: Then why could't we stop at Mercury's Crocodile Park? This place gives me the creeps.
Taiyang: Nonsense! Taurus Exotic has twice as many animals, and nearly a dozen more species! Look over there! There's a black panther!
JuvenilePanther!Blake: (laying still on the concrete slab in a small cage)
Ruby: Uh... Dad, she looks... a bit small.... and dead...
Yang: She looks like she's been neglected. You can even see her ribs from here.
Taiyang: Sign says her name's Blake and she's one year old.
Ruby & Yang: Dad!!! Will you listen to us for one second?!
Taiyang: Okay! Okay! Sheesh! We'll leave!
Ruby & Taiyang: (start making their way towards the exit)
Yang: (locks eyes with Blake)
J.Panther!Blake: (pitiful squeak whine)
Yang: (looks around) No cameras. Perfect! (grabs a random metal pole on the ground and wedges it into the padlock) You're coming with me.
-4 hours of driving later: Xiao Long - Rose Home-
Ruby: (holding her nose and gagging as she scrambles out of the front passenger seat) Good Lord!!! Yang, what did you step in back at that roadside zoo?! You stink!
Yang: Yup! Totally stepped in something! (hiding a mysterious lump in her hoodie) I'm just gonna go to my room so you guys don't have to smell me. I'm exhausted after that drive anyway. Good night!
Ruby: Uh... good night?
Yang: (sprints to her room after grabbing one of the whole chickens out of the fridge, gently pulls JP!B out of her hoodie and sets her on the floor)
J.Panther!Blake: (looks around and sniffs the air)
Yang: Okay, Blake. We're gonna have to lay low for now. (lays out a towel and places the chicken down) Here, are you hungry?
J.Panther!Blake: (eyes the chicken and Yang warily)
Yang: It's okay, Blake. Here. Watch. (pretends to take a few bites before nudging it closer to Blake) Mmmmm... yummy.
J.Panther!Blake: (takes a few tentative licks before pouncing on the chicken)
Yang: (lays on her bed so she can watch) You'll be safe here. I promise.
-The next morning-
Taiyang: YANG XIAO LONG, COME HERE RIGHT NOW!!!
Yang: (sprints into the living room) What?! What did I do?!
Taiyang: (stares at Yang sternly) Taurus Exotic was shut down last night for being an illegal roadside zoo.
Yang: Wow... shocker...
Taiyang: There's a story on the news about the black panther being missing!
J.Panther!Blake: (pads out of the room and rubs up on Yang's shin affectionately)
Yang: Uhhhh.... (kneels down and scratches JP!B's ear) Can we keep her?

It was late night.. I hear door bell and when I open the door, you just step in barely standing on your feet.. Another night in fight club.. Living next door to me, you never talk to me more, than few words each time we see each other, but I have noticed you with cuts and bruises multiple times.. This time everything went wrong, I guess..
-Whumpee?? W-what's wrong with you??
You said nothing, kneeling on the floor, and coughing blood, with hands embraced your stomach, and lean forward.. I kneel next to you, holding you from falling on the floor face down.. Slightly slapping your cheeks didn't bring you to conscious and I have to lay you down and run after water..
When I came back, it feels like you're not breathing.. I lean closer, holding my head over your nose and mouth, watching your bare torso same time.. I can't hear your breath..
Then I put my ear to your chest, over your heart, and hear your heartbeat.. too fast, compared to mine, which is pounding in my heart at this moment..
I quickly tilt your head and push to your chin, opening your mouth.. Cut on your lower lip start bleeding.. I didn't pay attention to that and push my lips to your mouth tightly, pinching your nose before that.. I hold my another hand under your cheen, holding your head steady, whyle I inhale the air.. Your cheeks bulg, your chest expand, than shrink again, exhaling the air.. I inhale again, trying to blow as much air, as possible.. Our lips are intimately interlocked and I can feel salty taste of your blood.. I slide my thumb, cleaning thin trace of blood from your cheen, then keep stroking your fresh shaved skin, whyle I do resuscitation..
Each time I inhale the air, your chest raises, exposing well pumped muscular torso, which I was admiring, each time I see you.. But now, topless, it looks gorgeous..
-C'mon, Whumpee, breath for me!!
I digg my knuckles in your sternum, rubbing, trying to make you breath..
You remain the same.. I gently hold your wrist, feeling your pulse under my fingers, than start resuscitation again..
When I inhale next time, you exhale yourself, making few deep breathes, before you start coughing..
-Sh-shhhh!! Calm down, it's ok, you're ok, I got you..
I stroke your hair, holding my another hand on your chest..
You stare at me, like have never seen me before.. probably, smashed red lipstick, messy hair and fear in my eyes make you worry..
-What happened, why am I here??
You asked me and I hear, that your voice sounds strange, like if you have to push yourself to talk..
-You knocked my door few minutes before.. How do you feel yourself, where is it hurt?? You weren't breathing, what happened to you??
You look at me few moments, like if trying to decide did I deserved to trust me.. Finally you give up and answer..
-I fought.. I guess my ribs are broken and it hurts like hell.. But please, don't call ambulance, I can't go to hospital.. The fight was illegal..
-Ok, let me help you..
I hold your arm pulling you to sit up.. Then I help you to lean on my shoulder and stand, so we can walk to the living room, where you lay on the sofa.. Then I bring you a bag with ice for your ribs and painkillers, which you drink immediately, then tilted back your head with closed eyes.. For a moment I thought, that you lost your consciousness again, but you moan and put away the bag with ice..
-Ok, let it go, I will put ointment on your bruises tomorrow, -I said.- Now take some rest, I'll be by your side..
-Mhm..
You said, even not opening your eyes..
I push the armchair closer to the sofa and sit next to you, cheking your breath and heartbeat from time to time.. You fall asleep with curled legs and embracing your torso, moaning and whimpering in your sleep.. I spend the night on armchair next to you..

Sebastian quickly rounded a corner and his shoes nearly slid on the cobbles. It had been quite a while since he had had to run — he’d gotten lazy. The night was barely lifted from the ground and a fresh light bathed everything about him, cut into a lacing of shadows by the thin tall buildings all around. The paper package in his arms burnt at his ribs, but he could not afford to put it down.
He nearly got lost down a side alley, and the panic rose that much higher when he noticed that nothing was familiar… But he’d just taken a wrong turn.
And soon, he could see it just up ahead, at the end of the street, on Via Dante Alighieri — home.
He stopped at the front door to catch his breath and wipe the sweat away, then brushed the flour off his jacket. Maybe rushing out to get fresh bread from the bakery on the other side of town wasn’t worth it. Then again, she smiled so brightly when he surprised her at breakfast with her favourite toast and marmalade… His sweet wife.
He tiptoed inside and found his way through the semi-dark to the kitchen. Immediately, he waved his wand to start warming up the milk and take the treys out, everything arranging in the proper order.
Her sleep schedule had gotten more unpredictable as she got further along, her growing waist getting in the way of all the creative poses she took when she usually slept. At least now she had an excuse to hog the blankets… But when Sebastian went upstairs, just as the sun was over the horizon and lighting up the house in golden hues, he found her sleeping still. He smiled, closed the bedroom door behind him, and set the tray down on the desk.
He took his jacket off and hung it on the armchair, and with gentle movements laid himself beside her. She was sleeping on her side, hugging one of the pillows while another was tucked between her legs. He rubbed a sympathetic hand up and down her back and leaned in closer, face burrowing in her braided hair.
“Mmmmmh,” she grumbled, shifting slightly.
“Good morning,” Sebastian whispered.
“Wan’sleep ore…”
“You want to sleep a little more?” he chuckled. “Alright. I’ll keep breakfast warm for you, darling.”
“Breakf’st?”
“Mhmm…”
She grumbled again and sighed, and with great reluctance turned over on her back. Her eyes were still closed but she threw an arm over her eyes anyway, keeping at bay the light coming through the tall coloured windows. Sebastian smiled as he brushed a finger down her neck, waking her slowly with gentle pettings. His hand soon trailed down to the rich swell of her stomach. He let it rest there and leaned forward to kiss her cheek.
“Hungry?” he asked quietly.
“Mhm…”
He grinned. “I’ll bring it over.”
She shifted then, raising herself on both arms while Sebastian tucked two pillows behind her.
The tray sat on the bed between them and they both picked at the food, hot milk steaming among plates of toast and ham and porridge.
“Oh the marmalade toast is so good,” she said, moaning as she savoured it in a slow chew.
Sebastian’s smile was almost brighter than the sun that morning.
As had become their habit, they went for a leisurely walk after. The house they lived in was old and cracked and chipped in places, but it had a palatial dignity about it that blended with their landscape of rocky hills and rolling waves and flowers, such a wilderness of flowers curling around every corner… The air was fresh and fragrant, and filled with the sound of the town coming to life and seagulls chanting overhead.
Sebastian held her hand as they walked from one side of their veranda to the other, thumb brushing over her knuckles.
“I had such strange dreams last night,” she said as she looked into the distance. Fishing boats were casting off to sea, rolling slowly further.
“What about?”
“I don’t remember now…”
“That’s a pity.”
“It felt familiar though…”
“Perhaps you dreamed of home.”
“How odd that would be,” she chuckled, her gaze turning toward him, capturing his eyes completely. “Which home do you think it was? I have a few to choose from now.”
Sebastian grinned nervously, and let go of her hand to wrap it around her lower back. Her words had frightened him a little, although she didn’t mean it.
“I would hope it is this home,” he said.“W-why? Do you miss England?”
She leaned her head down on his shoulder as they kept their slow walk forward. “Sometimes,” she said. “No, not just sometimes… I think I’ll always miss England.”
“Well, we—”
“But I am happy here, as well.”
Sebastian sighed, his heart trilling with relief. “We’ll go back someday,” he promised. “Sooner than you imagine, I’m sure.”
“I know,” she said with a light smile, her voice filling his chest with its soft notes, its closeness to his heart. “The Ministry just needs to… forget.”
Sebastian nodded. Times like these, he felt so guilty to have dragged her quite so far…
“And we’re quite lucky the Ministry here in Italy knows nothing of your bad behaviour,” she chuckled.
“Well, I’ve been on exemplary behaviour lately, haven’t I?”
“As far as I know…”
He gasped. “I absolutely have been!”
“Alright, alright,” she laughed. “I can only admit you’ve been less naughty than is typical of you.”
She teased him less and less about his spotted past as time went on, perhaps because he had placed himself in such a position that he had no means of breaking his word — to neither her, nor Ominis. Sebastian had sold all his dubious artefacts and bought their seaside home with the profits, and with her expecting their first child he was by her side most of the time. Ominis and his wife were due to visit in a few months too, and if anyone could read him like an open book it was his oldest friend.
Besides, there wasn’t much to do in the way of magical dealings on the small isle of Lipari, in the Aeolian Islands.
She hadn’t been quite charmed when she found out, believing it a bad joke on Sebastian’s side, but he insisted. And after they got there, she quickly grew to love the place.
It was warm, much warmer than England, and the volcanic earth was black, but the beaches were soft and the water sharp and bracing and like the gentlest bath when she slipped outside to dip her feet in. But in every other way, it was just like a home… A home like the one she left behind. The town was small, the people friendly, welcoming and amused by an English couple with their strange little habits and tastes. It was easy to ascribe their differences to them being foreigners, rather than witches.
“I want to walk by the sea,” she said.
“It is done,” said Sebastian, taking her hand again and kissing it before tucking it into his elbow.
Step in step they walked toward the foam and rising sun, passing by their neighbours with cheerful Buongiorno’s and wide waves. The women were picking up the laundry from the day before, the men came back from shopping at the market, and a swirling flock of children rushed past to gather seashells and build castles.
“I can see ours doing the same, you know,” she said in a smiling, dreamy voice.
“Hmm?”
“Running around, making friends, playing with the simplest things, and laughing…”
He stopped her then, just to tilt her head up and kiss her lips. She dared to blush at the surprise of it.
“Ours,” said Sebastian, holding her even closer. “I love the way that sounds…”
“Always so greedy,” she teased.
“Oh, very much so.”
“You’re lucky you married a very generous lady.”
“I am well aware, Madam.”
She reached up to pinch his cheeks, but it did little to dull the heat in his eyes. His face was much more rosy lately too, full of a livelier flush that made his freckles stand out all the more. She stayed like that for a moment, flush against him, in his arms, gazing up into those deep brown eyes that drank her in, and allowed herself to feel his sweetness all around her.
He tilted his head, cinnamon locks brushing over his forehead, and with a gentle finger, he followed the line of her throat from her ear down to her lace-covered chest. She knew he liked this dress on her, a fresh crystalline green with generous trimming that gave access to her skin whenever she needed to cool her blood a little.
“What is it?” she asked with a bubbling giggle.
“Nothing,” he said thoughtfully, that mysterious smile still curling his soft lips.
“Seb—”
She wanted to chastise him, to chase his thoughts all the way through, but he kissed her to distraction, warm hands cupping her head gently as he whispered love into her mouth. She smiled and sighed and kissed him back, arms wrapped around his neck to hold him to her. The buttons of his jacket pressed into her chest, and it made her body sing to know that just beyond a few layers of linen, it was him, and he was all hers.
“Mmmm walk now,” she mumbled as they parted. “Kisses later.”
“Promise?”
The waves caressed the rich black sands and pulled away, and the sounds of laughing children, distant songs, and circling dizzy birds in flight faded as they got lost within each other, whether talking or in silence, in their slow afternoon walk.
And when they returned between the cool and aged walls of their home, with sand on their boots and the sun’s warmth still in their hair, she kept her promise plenty-fold, and kissed and kissed and kissed Sebastian until he blushed and giggled, his cheeks filling up her hands. She had learned to give him all the love he wanted, and so finally gave herself permission to take her own share of love in return.

Summary: Good dad Bruce comforts batsis after a mission goes awry. A/n: I’ve been wanting to post for weeks but school is kind of a bitch. To be fair, I am paying to make me cry, so who is the real clown here? Hope you guys enjoy :] I keep thinking about this scene. warnings: death, blood, panic attacks, and you cannot accuse bats of being mentally well. I will fight you if you try.
You watch— throat closed and hollow-eyed— as the EMTs wheel the two rain-soaked bodies into the ambulance. Your face feels numb as the droplets of rain pitter-patter onto the skin, the cold seeping into your skull, leaving only the space behind your eyes hot.
The mission... The rescue had gone awry. Min-ho (age: 22) and Victoria (age: 26) lay dead on the pavement, lives cut short by your incompetence. Min was supposed to graduate this fall. Environmental Science. Victoria wanted to get her life on track. You promised to look over her personal statement. Min tried to talk her into taking Environmental Science too. It would have worked, you think. She was on the cusp of saying yes when—
Your ears start to ring.
Nausea crests in the pit of your stomach. There's a baseball game this Saturday. You promised. Victoria and Min— You stop. You breathe. You let your fists drop. The other ten subjects are alive. Ten lives. Ten futures. Ten.  Ten versus two. That's an acceptable margin.
It's acceptable.
A heavy gloved hand rests on your head. You feel yourself ripple, vertiginous, liquid self distorted and uncomfortable under the touch. "I know," you say, pushing Bruce's hand away. You know. He knows. They all know. You stare where the bodies are— were, the image of them still pressed into the concrete. "I know," you repeat. Bruce is mercifully silent. You hunch over your knees. You raise your a black USB stick, "Files on the cult. Should make the case against the leaders stronger, formatted to make those yahoos at the courthouse understand."
You feel his hand drawing closer. You snap at him. No words. Just an illegible snarl. Your head had no space for words, only for the cotton-y numbness. Bruce's face remained impassive. Fuck him. "Check on the victims. Instruct the team. Do something useful." Fuck off. The thought bore so little heat. It, too, turned into cotton.
Bruce sits beside you. You look at him and he looks ridiculous when he's not towering over people. The hand is on your head again then on the side of your neck, pulling you into his side, the material of his cape slipping over you. The world is black; the bodies are gone; this space is safe. Bruce is the only thing there.
You let out a reedy breath, broken pipe organ sob pouring from your throat. The hand is on your back, heavy and comforting. It's wrong. Min, Victoria— They're— Your ribs close down on your heart. You curl into Bruce. Balling your shaking fists, you lay your head on his chest. You're falling apart, the numbness swallowing you whole in this safe, cramped space.
Bruce rests your head against his chest, stroking your hair gently. You wrap your arm around him. You'd fucked, catastrophically and utterly.  You'd failed them. You're still alive and, and, and and andandand
"(Y/n)," Bruce whispers softly.
The ringing in your ears clears. Your own ragged breathing fills its place. "B," you wheeze, "They're dead. I— I— I— I—" You choke. You can't. Why aren’t they here? Why are you here? "B," you sob.
Bruce rubs the space between your shoulders gently. The calming circular motion guides your breaths into a steadier rhythm. Your chest muscles loosen and you let out an ugly sob. For six hellish months, they stayed by your side. They were your friends. They died because you couldn't keep them safe.
Bruce understands the feeling better than anyone, and so you cling to him as the banked trauma splinter through your insides. He doesn't shush you, doesn't say anything. He lets you feel your grief.
He knows that sometimes all you need is a safe place to grieve.

TO THE EDGE - CHAPTER 15.
Since they were going farther than originally planned, out in a direction that would eventually have no more settlements or stations, they had to make a few stops for supplies along the way.
Stardust wasn’t complaining, even if things sometimes got a little dicey. They still got excited every time they docked, eager to see what this new and strange place might hold.
They had their jacket back and popped the collar to flaunt it when Cosmic finished negotiating the price of a crate of protein shakes. He rolled his eyes at them but they knew he was having fun. When they flashed a smile, they felt the tug on their healed lip. They had a smooth patch of shiny scar tissue there that they just knew was waiting to break the next time they took a fist to the face.
“I can’t believe you stole the jacket off me again,” he said when they started walking along the busy trading zone of the station.
“You shouldn’t be so surprised I took it back…” they countered, smirking. It had become a game of theirs in the last week hurtling through space.
The bounty hunter barked a laugh. “It’s not that you took it again, it’s how you took it! I was asleep, Stardust! How did you even do that…”
They shrugged, sliding their hands into the pockets and palming an item they didn’t remember putting there. Maybe Cosmic had left it? Was it a coin? A lighter? “I drugged your drink.”
“You…” he started and then stopped, head whipping to the side to stare at them. Another shopper almost ran into them with a wagon of what looked like junked engine parts. “No you didn’t.”
Stardust grinned, delighted by his surprise. It honestly wasn’t easy to surprise Cosmic.
“Are you being serious?” he pressed. “You put a sedative in my drink last night?”
They nodded. “Found the drugs in the med room. Admittedly, I don’t know what most of the shit in there is, but I recognized those.”
Rory laughed. Stardust had really come to love that sound, it swelled pride in their chest every time they caused it. “That’s so creepy!” He had to rub away a tear with the back of his hand. “Is that something primers do? You just go around drugging each other?
Stardust bumped their shoulder into his as they started walking again. “Yeah. Why not? You’re fine.”
“Fuck me… And they think I’m the criminal.”
Stardust wasn’t sure if they should point out that drugging a person was only illegal if it caused bodily harm. He was enjoying this, so they decided not to.
They pulled the mystery item from their pocket and opened their palm to get a look at it. The thin aluminum wrapping on the candy glinted in the light.
The bounty hunter noticed and snatched it from their hand, unwrapping it with an expert swipe of his thumb and then popping it into his mouth.
“Hey!” they whined with a laugh, not even sure if they’d wanted it.
He sucked on the candy, shrugging his naked shoulders. Another good reason to steal the jacket back… A thin, black tank top hung on his lean frame, flashing bare arms and a whole lot of clavicle. They’d taken to sharing a lot of their clothes, not just the jacket. Stardust had been wearing that top yesterday, but they thought it looked better on Cosmic. Everything seemed to look better on him, especially when he had those gun holsters on, weapons pinning the thin material against his ribs.
Stardust only happened to notice the trio watching them from a few stalls back because they’d been turned to gawk at their partner. The trio might have just been looking at Rory for the same reason Stardust was… Only they weren’t really looking at him. They were looking at Stardust.
They took a step closer to the bounty hunter, turning a little so he’d turn with them. “Is it just me or are they watching us?”
“Hm? Who?” He clicked his candy against his teeth, looking innocent in a way that Stardust had learned meant something dangerous. They discreetly glanced in the direction. Cosmic stuffed the candy wrapper back into the pocket of Stardust’s jacket, pivoting them out of his way to look at the nearest stall, disguising his true glance.
“Oh.” He still sounded too relaxed. “Yeah, those are mercenaries… And yes, they are looking at you. Maybe we’ll get lucky and they’re just admiring the jacket? Best give it to me for safe keeping…”
Stardust laughed and swatted at Cosmic’s shoulder.
He gasped. “Ouch. Okay, okay, hang onto it. I’m starting to think you want the jacket just to ensure that I’ll save you.”
They turned to face him, ignoring the danger off to their side. “Save me? SAVE ME?”
He nodded. “Yes, save you.” He bit the hard candy in his mouth, snapping it in half. “I’m sorry, have you somehow forgotten the count?
“There is no count…”
“The score is six to zero.”
Stardust blew a raspberry. “Bullshit. That is not the score.”
“Excuse you! Yes, it is!” He held up one hand and started to count them off. “The first time was when I saved you from that pirate kidnapping, then there was that mercenary kidnapping you walked right into, then the time you tried to throw your own dumb ass into the escape pod, that second pirate incident on Echo, and then last week it was skin traders…”
They pinched their face and resisted the urge to slap his hand out of their face. The skin traders had been awful, they couldn’t argue that one, but still… “You said the score was six to zero,” they reminded, looking pointedly at his hand and splayed fingers.
“Hmm? Yes, that’s five, but I add one just for me not tossing you out the airlock every time you touch the controls on my ship.”
Stardust took a step closer, right up in his space, forcing him to drop the hand or lay it against their collar. He dropped it, but the split-second flare of his lids made them think he’d considered the options. “Okay. Fine, you’ve saved me a couple times… But I’ve saved you too.”
He laughed, not stepping back. They caught the whisps of sugary cherry scent from the candy he’d just eaten. “No, you have not saved my life.”
“Yes, I have.”
Cosmic shook his head. “Nope.”
“Really? What about saving you from getting killed for trying to turn me in? I saved you.”
“From your cousins?” he nearly shouted in surprise. “No. If you hadn’t stolen my ship, I would have turned you over and collected my bounty. Technically, you endangered my life, not saved it.”
Stardust shook their head. That might be true, but they were not willing to admit to it. “So, you’re saying that you wish you had just dropped me off?”
“I’m not saying I wish I had! I’m saying that’s how it would have gone. Which means you did not save me from shit.”
Stardust laughed but it was angry. They wanted to throttle him! “Are you shitting me? You really think—”
“Oh great, the mercs are coming over…” he mumbled, not sounding particularly worried about it. “Stardust, how exactly do you manage to get us into trouble every time we dock?”
Stardust sputtered, ignoring the trio of muscle weaving through the crowd toward them. “That last time was your fault.”
“No, last time was not my fault,” he countered.
“It wasn’t my skin those traders were after,” Stardust reminded.
“Just because I handled the problem, doesn’t mean I started it. You’re the one that punched that skin trader.”
“They were talking about how much credit they could make on you! What was I supposed to do? Just stand there? They deserved what they got.” And Stardust meant it. They’d personally throw every damn pirate and skin traders out an airlock if they could and lose no sleep over it.
Cosmic’s smile got that strange quality to it, like he wasn’t used to someone being angry on his behalf. He had looked like that then too, when they punched that giant creep in the mouth for talking to him like that. “Of course, they deserved it!” he laughed. “But you have a particular skill for getting us into gunfights. At this rate, we’re going to be banned from every station in the sector.”
“Would that be so bad?” they sulked.
“Yes, that would be bad.”
They shrugged stubbornly. The mercenaries were almost on top of them but Cosmic was pretending not to notice so Stardust did the same.
“Oh, you’ll agree with me the next time you want to restock those caramel coffee drinks you like…” he pointed out. They’d come to this station specifically for the caramel flavor after Stardust spent the last week gagging on the strawberry shit he bought last time.
“You can’t blame me for stations being dangerous…”
He smiled. They were still standing so close, if they both dropped their heads forward their foreheads would bump. “No, that situation on Echo was on you too. You’re the one that picked the fight with those pirates. They didn’t even recognize you from the bounty.”
Stardust shot him a glare. He knew damn well how they felt about pirates. The second they saw those neon-smeared jackets and heard their jeers, they’d snapped.
“Yes, I understand your grudge against pirates, Stardust…” he said as though he read their thoughts. “But it’s been a month since they stole your ship and tried to ransom you.”
“What do you expect me to do?”
Cosmic raised his eyebrows. “Maybe you should let it go? I mean, those pirates are dead…”
They relaxed a fraction at the memory. He had shot the ones that kidnapped them. That seemed like a lifetime ago. They smirked. “Just like the ones on Echo…”
His smile never dropped. “Yeah, you’re right, so are the ones on that station now. You’d have a pretty good reputation going if you actually did any of the work yourself…” He glanced to the side, the shift of his gaze so fast that they almost missed it and they’d been looking right at him. “So far, you’re just making me look good. Not only do I keep winning very public fights, but it looks like I’m defending a damsel.”
“A what?” they glared. “You did not just call me a damsel…”
“Yes, you are definitely the damsel.”
“Fuck you!”
He laughed. “Don’t get mad at me! You’re the one starting shit you can’t finish.”
The mercenary leading the march to them shoved someone out of his way and right into a stall, knocking over a crate of parts.
Cosmic raised an eyebrow and turned his head to look at the man. “Do you mind? We’re talking.” He sounded different when he talked to the stranger. Stardust was always surprised by that shift in his voice and how easily he switched back and forth.
The merc pulled a gun and pointed it in Cosmic’s face, the power charge whirring with threat.
Stardust frowned.
“Really? You’re pointing that at me?” he asked, his own guns holstered against his ribs. He looked at Stardust still right in front of him, the whole station coiling with tension around them, but not Cosmic. He was so calm, like it was still just the two of them. His voice was easy and playful again when he said, “Okay, Stardust, handle your own mess.”
They lifted their eyebrows. “What?” He was the one with the guns! Did he expect them to punch this guy too? He was pretty tall for a punch… Maybe they could kick him…
“Yeah, you heard me. They came over here for you. Time to shine.”

Dwayne Hoover/Cis Male Reader fluff but a smidge(insane amount) of smut would b appreciated
Haii!! :3 I finally did it yippee!! This officially starts the next era of being active
What the Hell are You Doing Here?(Dwayne Hoover x Male reader smut)
EVERYONE IS OF LEGAL AGE PINKY SWEAR
no penetrative sex!! I don't need to explain you'll see it'll make sense
You’re laying in Dwayne’s bed, staring at the ceiling and wondering how much shit you’re gonna be in for sneaking into his house. I mean, it’s not your fault you decided to bail halfway through school, right? I mean you couldn’t go home, and you just happened to know where his spare key was kept.
School gets out in about ten minutes, and counting the bus ride and the walk back from the stop, you think you have about twenty minutes until Dwayne’s home. You decide to pass the time by looking through his CD collection. After flipping through about, say, 8,000 niche rock albums you lay back down on a bed you were not invited into.
In the middle of your hardcore ceiling staring you find yourself interrupted by Dwayne opening the door to his own bedroom. Unsurprisingly, he’s just short of mortified to see you given the context. As you’re standing up to not-at-all-creepily shut the door behind him and explain yourself, you wonder briefly if what you’re doing is illegal. By the time you're back in front of him, trying to make your stance say ‘I am not crazy I promise’ as much as possible, he already has his notepad displayed.
“What the fuck are you doing here??”
“I was just about to explain,” you say, hoping your whisper yelling isn't audible outside of the room. “I skipped school, and I couldn't go home, and your house is the only one that I could get into.” God, you sound crazy, don't you?
“You're fucking CRAZY” He's still wide-eyed and pale, even though he always kinda looks like that. You sigh, not thinking there's even a point in explaining yourself anymore. Hey, at least it's not a crime?
“This is illegal.” Dwayne looks at you with a less startled, more confused, and disappointed face now. You sigh.
“Well, I didn't know, okay?” You rub your hands along the sides of your pants, trying to figure out what to say while Dwayne stands awkwardly. Probably the most uncomfortable he's been in his own room. “I can leave if you want, you just have to help me through the window.” You don't want to leave, not really, but you're like 98% sure any sane person would want you to.
But then Dwayne shakes his head, sets down his bag by the door, and sits down on his bed before scribbling something else down again.
“What the hell were you thinking?” God, how does someone's handwriting look disappointed? You shrug. You can't say anything that you haven't already. You sit down next to him on the bed, and after a while of sitting next to each other quietly, you fall back on the bed with a huff.
At some point, both of you kicked off your shoes and got on the bed properly. You're both lying next to each other, holding hands and not saying anything. This is the way things tend to go when you spend time together now, and you like it. It's a very kind, gentle quiet.
“I love you, you know.” Dwayne smiles when you say it, squeezing your hand.
You get closer together, rather quickly ending up with Dwayne’s face in the back of your neck. His breathing is soft and paced like he's scared he might run out of air. His arms are wrapped around your chest under your arms, hands feeling the sides of your ribs gently. He's so soft with his hands, just absentmindedly feeling you, just because you're there and he can. His hands start to wander down to your lower stomach, and even though he's not doing it on purpose, it is kinda getting a rise out of you. It's no big deal yet, not even when he starts rubbing your hips through your shirt. But rubbing your hips turns into messing with the hem of your shirt, and that turns into his hands underneath your shirt roaming up and down your torso. You know he doesn't mean anything by it. You know.
Something about it drives you crazy though. You try to ignore it, and at first you do. And eventually Dwayne's hands come out from under your shirt, and you let yourself relax back against him. But as the saying goes, when God closes a door, he opens a window. Dwayne moves his hands down to your thighs instead—rubbing up and down the sides and occasionally stopping to press his palms into the softer areas. After a few rounds of this, his hands move towards your inner thigh. He stills there, enjoying how warm you feel. After a few moments, he pulls his hands back up—and in doing so grazes your crotch, which brings both of your attention to the fact that his mindless petting had an unintended effect.
Dwayne pulls away out of shock, and what you assume in your head to be complete and utter disgust. You in turn curl into yourself and hide your face in your hands, trying to remember how one breathes when they aren't drowning in incurable embarrassment.
Dwayne, however, isn't disgusted, just baffled by the situation. Both the one at hand and the fact you broke into his house. But, nonetheless, he brings his arms back around your waist, resting his chin on your shoulder and running his fingers over your waistband. He presses a kiss to where your shoulder meets the base of your neck and taps at where your hip bone is placed, like hes asking if he’s allowed in your pants. You nod shakily, trying to breath through the absolute wackadoodle situation you’ve got yourself in. It’s not like you don’t want to partake in homosexual sex with Dwayne, you’ve thought about it plenty of times, but you always ended up all strange and guilty feeling.
And now you feel that way more than ever. And Dwayne can definitely tell. And he pushes his hand under your waistband anyway, because he doesn't care if you're weird and anxious about it, ‘cause he's also very weird and anxious about it. You try really hard to enjoy what's happening, but you can't shut your brain off. Dwayne, though, is taking his sweet time brushing each individual finger over your crotch. You move your hand to rest over his forearm, and he pauses just long enough for you to mutter a reassurance. Dwayne continues, and you keep your hand held tight on his arm. Dwayne eventually shifts his hand up, making his way under the waistband of your underwear.
It takes exactly zero time for the feeling of Dwayne’s hand around your dick to be too much. Your mind does everything short of going white as he gently starts jerking you off. You can tell he's not exactly sure what he's doing. Really, he's just trying out a mix of what he likes and what he thinks is normal. He stops to run his thumb over your tip every once in a while, but he's not so sure about that move. You, on the other hand, are responding a lot better than he thought. Sorta. You're still death gripping his arm, neither of you would be surprised if you had drawn blood by now. Dwayne isn't sure how he's supposed to take your shaky breathing and strange high pitched gasps, and he's entirely trusting you to tell him to stop if you don't like something.
So far, though, there's nothing you don't like. You genuinely could not have envisioned a hadjob to feel this good, and you're honestly embarrassed over how your body is reacting. You're shaking, a lot, and you're not sure how long it's been that way, or how long it's been noticeable, or if it ever was noticeable. You're trying really, really hard not to cum from just this. That's possibly the most embarrassing outcome.
Your hard attempt to last longer stayed a solid attempt. As soon as you let your guard down, let yourself relax, you're suddenly very aware of Dwayne breathing against your neck, and how he's not so subtly grinding against you. That's too much for you. Way too much for you.
You tense up, trying your very best to muffle whatever sounds would come out of you, which just results in more of a long high pitched yowl. You tense up periodically for a few moments, and Dwayne smooths over your hair with his free hand. You both sit that way for a while.
The first one to move is Dwayne. He slides his jizz-covered hand out from your underwear, pausing to think about the decision he's about to make before he does it. And then he wipes his hand on your pants very unceremoniously. You fake scoff and turn on your other side. You almost say something before reiterating to yourself you broke-and-entered today, so you don't. It takes a second before you notice, based on the conveniently placed stain on his pants, that Dwayne also came embarrassingly.
You lean in to kiss Dwayne, lingering for a good count of four. When the two of you separate, he moves in to hug you, wrapping his arms around your waist and burning your head in his chest. You can't help but wonder if that counted as losing your virginity, just for a split second.

@daily-writing-challenge - May 2024 - Day 3 - Shame
FMK
“I am not going to play fuck…”
“Language..” Kyean interrupted Dei.
The warlock carried on, repeating the first just because he had stopped her, “… Fuck, marry, kill, with you concerning types of demons. If you put intention to some it gives it power.”
The Illidari laughed, “It is a game Dei, not one of your contracts. I will start,” he rubbed his chin, “Fuck it, I am married to killing them all.”
Dei dissolved into a fit of giggles, there was something about the ginormous Kaldorei that was just outrageous enough to get her to forget her ‘proper’ raising ever since he showed up after Brendan’s funeral. She was far too serious as a child due to her mentor/guardian’s raising, he was a hard man that had no use for a child but was in need of a protege, she just happened to be six when he took custody of her. No one, to that point had, ever made her feel comfortable enough to let go of all Brendan had instilled in her, and at seventeen she had been still a child.
“Going to bet you would have come up with that answer yourself if you relaxed a little,” Kyean said as he prodded at her ribs with one long, clawed finger. “So tell me about the boyfriend.”
Dei squirmed away because his claw had hit a ticklish spot. The night had been pleasant, they had made pasta together, well Dei made it and Kyean had kept stealing the fresh tomatoes they had bought, then sat in her newly organized front room. She still had three rooms to sort books from on the lower level and three on the upper levels of the house, then it would be in order. It wasn’t until Rurik had come to stay with her that she had really wanted to erode the anchors to how she was raised.
A couple bottles of wine had been added to the dinner, which Dei realized belatedly, that he burned off alcohol at such a fast rate he didn’t even get tipsy and she was pretty drunk, lightweight that she was. “Cheating,” she pointed out at his answer, then she became more serious. “Rurik, that was his name.”
“Probably still is,” he broke in with.
“Rurik *is* his name,” the ebony haired young woman corrected, wanting to throw a pillow at him. “He joined the company in a time when I wasn’t focused all that much on it. I just happened to hear the woman with the Man’ari friend talking about misplacing a jar of soulstones. I am sure you can guess my reaction and that drew me back in, connecting with them once more, to try and prevent them from falling to fel stupidity, if nothing else.”
Kyean turned from where he was reclined on the floor at her feet while she tucked herself up in a corner of the couch, “She what?”
It was so nice having someone else around that understood her stance on demons. Sure a few in the company disliked them and had adopted her safe handling instructions but most were aloof in their interactions, it drove her mad… “Yes, a jar went missing, then it reappeared partially empty.”
“Or partially full,” he offered oh so helpfully.
This time she did swing a pillow at him which caught him in the shoulder, pillows didn’t have auras after all so he couldn’t *see* it coming. This time she didn't even correct herself, “Then she said they changed colors and she was pleased with this. While I was losing it over this cavalier attitude a voice came over the comm. I did not recognize him, he was asking generalized questions. What kind of work did we have coming up? Anything illegal? I guess he already had trouble in his past but nothing really invasive.”
Kyean’s head lifted, “For your first boyfriend you chose a criminal? What the Fel Deiala? It has been five years since Brendan’s death, that seems a bit late to be rebellious. Couldn’t you have dyed your hair or something? Maybe stop wearing corsets?”
“Are you finished?” She asked tartly then continued, “She started asking if he was a reporter or something. I thought his questions smart for just joining the company, things I never asked any when I joined really”
“You didn’t? You? Miss ‘I read the small print in ancient texts on the theory of Azeroth Being round’ for fun’? Miss ‘There is not a mystery out there I don’t want to solve’?”
Dei sat there silent until he said, “Go on.” To which she replied, “I wanted to make sure you were done.” Something she had realized the first few times she drank was that she had a tendency to be more challenging, especially to strong willed men.
“Anyway, she kept challenging him but I didn’t know him so why would I involve myself in their squabbling? A couple days later I went to watch people spar, more to put faces with voices than anything. Me, being me, with all my social graces, ended up just standing there, I observed, until I wasn’t.” The young woman smiled at the memory, “He just said hello and we began talking, next thing you know he is coming by the shop to research an art project.”
“You had an artist in your group?”
“A tattoo artist, though he was a good painter as well.” She replied.
He nodded, “Okay, yeah that tracks. Criminal and tattoo artist, next thing you know you will tell me he was a sailor or something.”
Dei flushed and Kyean laughed, “Annnyyy way… we had a mission and some things going on so it was suggested we team up to keep an eye on one another. The antagonistic woman suggested with a seductive tone that he and her should pair up. He was at the shop when he asked me instead. The mission didn’t go well, in fact it was a bit traumatic, so he came back here with me…”
“And you fucked away the trauma, yeah, been there, done that.”
“Actually no,” she said and drew a breath in through her nose, “he said that he would not take advantage of that and slept in one of the back bedrooms. It wasn’t until another mission went sideways that we ended up sleeping together, even then I had to push the issue.”
Kyean grunted in disbelief but said nothing.
Dei frowned at him, tipping her chin up, “I can decide what I want for myself you know.” Not bothering to wait for another comment, “Well, things happened and instead of a reporter the woman started calling him a spy and ended up making things uncomfortable so he left here in not the best of circumstances, on a night when my new friends were here for dinner. To say the least, this did not endear him to them.”
For once he remained quiet so she continued. “He came back, apologized for leaving stupidly and we started again. This time it was even better than before between us, but this whole spy thing had taken root in some people’s minds, even I had some doubts. The company verified that there was a spy in our midst, personally I think there is more than one, and we certainly had false faces around, somehow it was decided that he was the spy. I was told about this and when I chose to talk to him about it and not just stop seeing him it upset my friends. One threatened him and I did not back her. She decided to wash her hands of the whole thing and told me I would do what I wanted anyway, so why should she bother,” Dei frowned and laid her head against the back of the couch.
“The lack of trust issue rears its head,” he said quietly.
It took more than a moment for her to continue, “He said that he could not stay knowing it would put me in such a position. It was his idea to leave, I tried to talk him out of it but he was looking out for me.” Thanks to the wine tears welled in her eyes again. “He was looking out for me, and yet I did not fight for him.” This time her voice was quiet.
Kyeanadril reached out for her chin making her look at him, “There is no shame in that Dei. He was right, it would have caused undo conflict for you and since I doubt you told him about what you guard, that alone might put you in an even worse quandary.”
“I still feel like I failed him,” Dei did not tell Kyean about the couple of times she had reached out to Rurik and each time he had sounded like she felt, but he still picked up, he could just have stopped answering if he hadn’t cared about her. The last time had actually been the night before.
“Sometimes the harder path is not always the best one. What if you chose him over them and it didn’t work out? What if he really was a spy and using you? I know how people use one another all too well. There are a million what ifs, but what I do know is that you have a job above and beyond all else, the secrets you keep are dangerous and if you are in the midst of conflict it will make you vulnerable.” He then asked the tougher question, “Did you love him?”
The dark haired woman nodded a bit in his grasp, but she was still so conflicted, “I miss him. I haven’t really slept since he left. And I don’t know if I love him or not, I wasn’t given enough time to find out.
