I got me a new keyboard, one I've been eyeing for a while. And while some things are a weird change (previously used 100% keyboard, this is 96%). Like print screen being FN+ numpad 9, but finding a nice keyboard that was both ISO-UK and had a cassette futurism vibe was almost impossible. Some minor changes are a small price to pay.

Unlike the price of this keyboard, even in the sale lmao.

Heya.

Just cheking in. I guess I'm partially in a good mood right now -- sitting at my desk and listening to Stardew Valley sounds in my warmly-lit cozy bedroom as I type this. I was busy checking and listing things that I wanted to purchase sometime in the future for my home office.

Ack, I love working from home. I get to design my own home office!

I was thinking of buying another 27-inch monitor so I can use it as an extra visual surface area for work (and of course, other things as well!) . I'm also planning to VESA mount my monitors so I can see better. Right now, my screen to eye distance from my monitor is not that optimal. At least, with a monitor arm, I can adjust the height and proximity to a comfortable distance. Plus, I'm planning to use the second monitor I'm about to purchase as a vertical one. This will help a lot as I process datasets for work.

Hmmm...so much plans for now. I'm excited!

In addition to the extra monitor and mounting, I also have to plan for cables -- a braided cable for my mechanical keyboard, an HDMI splitter for dual monitors, a daisy chain for my power cables, and a USB hub since I will have a ton of cables to add.

On top of that, I am also planning to buy another mechanical keyboard! Haha. I do realize how unwise I sound when it comes to purchasing things. But I do need all of this! Haha. Right now, I am using my Royal Kludge 84 mech keyboard for several years now. This keyboard has been really great. I just need a larger one with a separate number pad since I deal with processing at work. I am stretched between an RK S98 or an Epomaker RT100. Ack, as I have mentioned before, lots of things to check off my list.

I'll take this slowly. First, I have to attend a work thing for tomorrow. I have to meet with my team for a quarterly catch-up. It's actually nice that I get to meet them few times a year. I am not totally isolated since we work remotely. Kind of excited to meet and chat with them actually.

Just typed all of these thoughts to prevent brain rot.

PIX-RT100の設置場所を変更してみた話し

WiFiルーターをRakuten WiFi Pocket 2CからPIX-RT100-AZに変更して、家のインターネット環境が安定したことでちょっと欲が出てしまい、PIX-RT100-AZの設置場所をもっと工夫すれば、通信速度がもっと上がるのでは？と思ってしまい、PIX-RT100-AZを持って家の中をあちこちウロウロしてみる。

PIX-RT100-AZの設定画面をスマホのWebブラ��ザで開いて、RF���ラメータという項目を見ながら、当初はRSRPという値が一番良くなる場所に設置して、通信速度計測サイトで速度を測ってみるも予想に反してあまり速度が上がらない。というか、むしろ逆に速度が遅くなってしまって、え…？なんでっ！？という感じに。

RSRPの数値は、PIX-RT100-AZの本体側面についている、楽天モバイル回線の受信レベルを示すアンテナピクトの表示と連動しているようで、RSRPの値が-100dBを超えるとアンテナピクトが4本フルで点灯するようなので、この数値が高ければ高いほど良いハズ…と思っていたのだけれど、どうやら違うらしい。

で、ネットでその他のパラメータの意味を色々と調べてみたところ、うちはPIX-RT100-AZをどこに置いても楽天モバイルの受信状態はあまり良くないらしい…という知りたくなかった情報を知ってしまい落ち込みつつ、でも設置場所によっては比較的通信速度が上がる場所があるんだよなぁ…と思ってRFパラメータの数値とにらめっこしていると、SINRの数値が高いと通信速度が上がるっぽいことに気づく。

そこで今度はSINRの数値を見ながら再びPIX-RT100-AZを持って家の中をウロウロして、SINRの値が比較的高くなる場所にPIX-RT100-AZを設置して通信速度を測ってみると、アップロードの速度はあまり上がらないんだけれど、ダウンロードの速度は安定して30Mbps前後、調子が良ければ40Mbps超えする場所をなんとか発見できましたさ。

アンテナピクトが4本フルで受信できた方が通信速度は速くなるとばかり思っていたんだけれど、アンテナ3��でも速くなることがあるんだなぁ、と勉強になったというお話しでした。
