So, we spent the last week at my mom's for the holiday.

On the way there and the way back we overnighted at a hotel because 5 hours is about all Super Spouse and I can stand to drive at a time.

During this time I was reminded of two things, I Do Not Miss Cable and Fuck All Your Subscriptions.

I used to think it was commercials I hated most on cable, but the thing I realized I hate the most is not being able to pull up what I want to watch (series or otherwise) when ever I want to watch it. See, at home, our PCs are our media centers. I want to watch something I go find it...granted, I am weirdly good at finding media on ye olde interwebs... Either way this is truly a 21st convenience that I don't wish to ever give up.

Yo ho ho Piracy rRules by flipping the bird at media monopolies, but also, it has the added benefit of "I don't have to endure copaganda tv series or news because it is literally all that is on the stations available."

I have decided that we are going to have a travel laptop with an external SSD and all the security I can muster with a travel set of cables, because lemme tell you, all the hotels have the capability now, and my Mom's house has new tvs in all their rooms. We only ever pack on suitcase between us, so a media tote bag wouldn't be an inconvenience. I might as well have the option to be able to watch old 70s tv series or Owl House or movies where ever I go.

It is the 21st century and I don't have teleporters or flashy cybernetics, but by the gods I can have the media I want to enjoy when and where ever I want to enjoy it!
