hey guys so today i saw a painting titled "The Execution of Lady Jane Grey"
And it got me thinking about the Grey Lady at Hogwarts. They both obviously have the word 'grey' in their names, they both died at a young age, they both were killed by someone remorseful, and both were killed by a blade.
Can the Grey Lady have been inspired by Lady Jane Grey? idk sounds far fetched but also plausible. Someone pls confirm-

“Welcome to Hogwarts,” said Professor McGonagall. “The start-of-term banquet will begin shortly, but before you take your seats in the Great Hall, you will be sorted into your houses. The Sorting is a very important ceremony because, while you are here, your house will be something like your family within Hogwarts. You will have classes with the rest of your house, sleep in your house dormitory, and spend free time in your house common room.”
“The four houses are called Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin. Each house has its own noble history and each has produced outstanding witches and wizards.”

Like I did with the moral alignments, I thought I would make a post about why and how I sort characters into Hogwarts Houses! There are also quizzes so you can figure it out for yourself as well. I go into detail about each House, what they represent, their background and what it means to be sorted into a certain House.
I hope you enjoy!
*just because I’m talking about Harry Potter doesn’t mean I align with the transphobic views of J.K. Rowling. There is no room for transphobia on my page, and I support the trans and LGBTQIA+ community*
Figuring out which Hogwarts House you belong to has been around since the HP series came out. But I think there’s more to it than simply choosing to be in ‘the brave house’ or ‘the smart house.’ I think it reveals a lot about a person - or rather, a large aspect.
Here are a few tests for you to try, comment below what you got!
Test 1 (the ‘official’ Wizarding World quiz)
Test 2 (from IDRlabs, they have other personality quizzes as well!)
Test 3 (Here’s the full Pottermore quiz. The 1st quiz will only have a few questions, so that’s why I don’t think it’s fully accurate to take)
Test 4 (A really good one from Quotev, the questions/answers aren’t obvious)
Gryffindor: Do what is right. Hufflepuff: Do what is kind.  Ravenclaw: Do what is wise. Slytherin: Do what is necessary.
𝐆𝐑𝐘𝐅𝐅𝐈𝐍𝐃𝐎𝐑
“ Where dwell the brave at heart, their daring, nerve and chivalry set Gryffindors apart “
Tumblr media
𝐸𝑙𝑒𝑚𝑒𝑛𝑡: Fire
𝐹𝑜𝑢𝑛𝑑𝑒𝑑 𝑏𝑦: ‘Bold Gryffindor, from wild moor’, Godric Gryffindor.
Dwelled at Godric’s Hollow
Was an accomplished dueller
A fair man, he believed that any child who displayed magical abilities before their 11th birthday should be able to attend Hogwarts.
Gryffindor was the original owner of the Sorting Hat
Gryffindor also had a sword made, which would present itself to any true Gryffindor in a moment of need.
He was allegedly the best friend of Slytherin before he left Hogwarts
Godric will always be known for his accomplished skills in battle, and his fight against Muggle discrimination in the wizarding world.

A kind and warm woman who believed in loyalty, patience and hard-work as the best abilities a person can possess

She brought the house-elves to Hogwarts
Owner of Hufflepuff’s Cup

A need for justice. A lot of the Hufflepuff and Gryffindor traits are intertwined, but the difference is that Gryffindors don’t need to know a person to feel the need to look out for them.
Patient
Believe in fairness and equality (Helga Hufflepuff was the only founder who believed everyone should have a fair chance in being taught)

𝐸𝑙𝑒𝑚𝑒𝑛𝑡: Air
𝐹𝑜𝑢𝑛𝑑𝑒𝑑 𝑏𝑦: ‘From Glen,’ Rowena Ravenclaw
A sharp and intelligent woman
She wanted to make Hogwarts the finest wizarding school in the world, teaching only those with the highest intelligence
Rowena wore a diadem that was said to grant wisdom to the wearer, however, Rowena’s own daughter grew jealous of her mother’s incredible intelligence. Helena Ravenclaw stole her mother’s diadem and ran away, a fact that Rowena kept hidden from her fellow founders even when she fell ill.
Wanting to see Helena before she died, Rowena sent a man to bring Helena home. Unfortunately, that man was the Bloody Baron, who was in love with Helena, and stabbed her in a rage when she refused to come home.
After Helena was tragically killed, legend tells us that Rowena Ravenclaw died of a broken heart.
She was the best friend of Helga Hufflepuff
𝐸𝑠𝑡𝑎𝑏𝑙𝑖𝑠𝘩𝑒𝑑 𝑡𝑟𝑎𝑖𝑡𝑠:
Intelligence
Wisdom
Witty
Open-minded - don’t mix well with traditional, close-minded people. Ravenclaws see the big picture, they think about what things could be, rather than what things are.
They think outside of the box, they don’t like being confined by rules or traditions.

𝐹𝑜𝑢𝑛𝑑𝑒𝑑 𝑏𝑦: ‘From Fen’, Salazar Slytherin
He believed strongly that only wizards of pure blood
This belief caused a big rift between the founders, especially Gryffindor, which led to the depature of Salazar
Despite his flaws, Salazar was a talented wizard, skilled in Legilemency and Parseltongue
Before he left, however, he created the Chamber of Secrets
𝐸𝑠𝑡𝑎𝑏𝑙𝑖𝑠𝘩𝑒𝑑 𝑡𝑟𝑎𝑖𝑡𝑠:

Headcanon time!
Rowena Ravenclaw agreed (to an extent) with Salazar Slytherin.
I personally don’t think Slytherin was a cold blooded murdering psycho. Given the other founders would agree to start a school with him.
His story was written that way bc J.K. Rowling (🤮) needed to further the “villain” house so there was opposition with her super awesome courageous hero and his super awesome amazing brave courage house. 😐
Hogwarts was founded at a time when wizards were being persecuted. Slytherin had a deep mistrust of muggles due to trauma.
Rowena, understood this and agreed that it may not be a safe and smart idea to admit muggle-borns at this time.
Godric Gryffindor however, in true Gryffindor fashion, wanted to raise students to be brave strong warriors who achieve “eternal glory” and in his hubris, (or extreme confidence in his abilities,) doesn’t see the danger.
Think of it. A muggle born wizard, part of an extremely anti-magic family, gets their Hogwarts letter. Their parents see this as an opportunity to infiltrate and take down Hogwarts from the inside.
When Slytherin decided to leave the school, Rowena chose to stay as she valued raising the next generation of wise and witty wizards, as well as her friendships with the other founders, but she was wise enough to understand the risks.
I can see the perspective of, “well then, explain the Chamber of Secrets if Slytherin wasn’t a bad guy”
To that I say, consider it a panic room. I’ve read things on here explaining such, as well as other headcanons of Helga Hufflepuff helping him build it. https://www.tumblr.com/expecto-kedavra/715796304140304384/x-slytherinprincess-x-psychopompious
Should Hogwarts have been attacked, what better weapon than a giant snake who can kill with a single look, and can only be controlled by one of the professors?
Slytherin may have been quite morally ambiguous, but I don’t believe he was deeply rooted in evil. Only caution for that which he cared for.
Rowena Ravenclaw wasn’t stupid. She understood what he had to say, but didn’t leave the school as she trusted her abilities and the other founders.
The prospect of having multiple cultures and different backgrounds with their own type of wisdom and knowledge was worth it for her.

J.K. Rowling's blatant transphobia cannot be dismissed in her portrayal of Salazar Slytherin as a transwoman. This is confirmed by Salazar's construction of the Chamber of Secrets. It represents what she most desires to own: a vagina. J.K. Rowling mistakenly believes that men cannot possess a vagina nor can women possess a penis. The basilisk, which penetrates the chamber, represents a penis. We also know this because it impregnates the sword of Gryffindor with basilisk venom. (The sword is another phallic figure, which suggests proof that men CAN get pregnant, yet J.K. Rowling is unwilling to have this conversation.)
Salazar Slytherin detests the cup of Helga Hufflepuff; for it represents the sacred chalice: the womb of a CIS woman. She instructs Rowena Ravenclaw's daughter, Helena, also a CIS woman, to steal her mother's diadem and bring it to her, for it represents the wisdom that J.K. Rowling believes only CIS women can grasp. These items are mockeries to Salazar, including the sword of Gryffindor, the sacred blade that represents what she longs to be free of (the sword could also be a tool to remove what prevents her from happiness.)
J.K. Rowling gave Salazar Slytherin a feminine item to own: a locket. This is further proof that Salazar Slytherin is a transwoman. The locket is also shown to attempt to strangle Harry Potter, portrayed by Daniel Radcliffe, who is a champion of trans rights. This is validation that J.K. Rowling views transwomen and trans rights activists as the biggest threats to humankind and that they should be eradicated.
If you are still clinging to these books or supporting this woman in any way (including thinking of your happy memories before she came out as a bigot) you are willingly participating in Nazism, sexism, racism, homophobia, and most importantly: transphobia. Do not give J.K. Rowling your support!

GWG Ramblings
The Tommy Westphall Universe
Within the Harry Potter Fandom, there is a theory that the entire series was nothing more than the escapist imaginings of a severely abused Harry locked in a cupboard under the stairs. It's a theory that Rowling, when asked about it, neither confirmed it nor denied it:
"I think that’s a fabulous point, and that speaks so perfectly to the truth to the books, because I had it suggested to me more than once that Harry actually did go mad in the cupboard, and that everything that happened subsequently was some sort of fantasy life he developed to save himself."
It's a hotly contested theory among HP fans and understandably so.
And while we could argue this theory all day, there's only person who'd really know.
Tommy Westphall.
~•~
Tommy Westphall was an autistic character in the 80s medical drama, St. Elsewhere. He was a minor character, appearing in only 15 episodes.
The show centered around St. Eligius, a teaching hospital in Boston. It was a much loved and highly lauded show, running for six seasons and winning a dozen Emmys. But none of that matters. The only thing anyone cares about anymore is the final scene of the final episode.
In the scene, the medical director, Dr. Donald Westphall and his father (another doctor from the series) enter the living room where Tommy is sitting and holding a snow globe. Donald has just arrived home from work and is wearing construction-worker gear. He and his dad watch Tommy for a few moments, then Donald turns to his father and says, "I don't understand this autism thing, Pop. Here's my son. I talk to him, I don't even know if he can hear me. He sits there all day long, in his own world, staring at that toy. What's he thinking about?"
The camera then zooms into the snow globe, and inside, we see a tiny version of St. Eligius Hospital, implying that the entire series was a figment of Tommy's imagination.
Pretty wild, huh?
Well, it gets wilder.
A doctor from St. Elsewhere, Dr. Roxanne Turner was in an episode of Homicide: Life on the Street.
Not a big deal. Crossovers happen all the time. Except...
If Dr. Turner was made up by Tommy, does that mean he dreamed up Homicide too?
Then, on top of that, Detective John Munch, one of the main characters on Homicide moved to Law and Order after Homicide ended. Detective Munch went on to appear in episodes of The X-Files, Arrested Development, and The Wire.
All of which took place in the mind of one child.
But it doesn't stop there. In one episode, the doctors of St. Elsewhere went out for drinks at a local bar in Boston. The bar in question was Cheers. The Cheers. Making Cheers also one of Tommy's daydreams.
Then Cheers spun off Fraiser, which crossed over with Caroline in the City, which crossed over with Mad About You, which crossed over with Seinfeld. Further expanding Tommy's vast imaginary universe.
Now, at this point, I'm sure you're wondering how Harry Potter fits into all this.
It all has to do with the show Supernatural.
So, remember how Detective Munch from Homicide also appeared in X-Files, thus placing the infamous sci-fi show into the Tommy Westphall's ever-expanding universe?
Well, in X-Files, there is a Lariat car rental company. Later, in Supernatural's episode, "Time is On My Side," we see Lariat Car Rentals, (which btw, is also featured in Breaking Bad and Veronica Mars).
Then, in the Supernatural episode, "Regarding Dean", Rowena MacLeod, a witch, suggests using the Obliviate spell to help Dean with his memory.
The Obliviate spell, of course, comes from Harry Potter, thus indicating that the entire HP universe is just another one of Tommy's countless daydreams.
(Btw, in addition to this connection, there are two others that I haven't yet had time to research.)
- In the show Galavant, which has been linked to Tommy's universe, one of the characters, Xanax, mentions the Petrificus Totalus spell from The Philosopher's Stone.
- Then, in the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them movie trilogy, a montage features The New York Star, the newspaper that Carrie Bradshaw worked for in Sex and the City (also a figment of Tommy's imagination.)
But that's not all. Three other newspapers are in the same montage, The New York Chronicle, The New York Gazette, and The New York Clarion.
Each of these papers has been featured in other shows and movies linked to Tommy's universe, such as:
-The Twilight Zone
-Beverly Hills 90210
-I Love Lucy
-Citizen Kane
-Growing Pains
-The Pride of the Yankees
-Felicity
-The Untouchables
...just to name a few.
To date, 419 shows have been traced back to Tommy Westphall.
And that doesn't count movie connections, which, btw, includes the entire MC Universe and the Aliens Franchise.
Let's start with the MC Universe.
In Avengers: Infinity War, we discover that Tobias Funke is part of the Collector's collection. Tobias Funke was a character from Arrested Development, which crossed over with Homicide which crossed over with St. Elsewhere.
As far as Aliens goes, it gets a little more complicated.
In St. Elsewhere, the character Dr. Mark Craig mentions that B.J. Hunicutt from the series M.A.S.H. was a former colleague.
Then, as mentioned earlier, the doctors of St. Eligius went to Cheers. One of the characters in Cheers is Fraiser, the titular character of the show Fraiser.
During his radio show, Fraiser receives a call from John Hemingway, a character from the John Laroquette Show.
The bus stop in front of the office in the John Laroquette show was built by Yoyodyne.
Yoyodyne is a client of Wolfram and Hart, a law firm featured in Buffy, the Vampire Slayer (as well as Angel, The Adventures of Buckaroo Bonzai, Star Trek, Firefly, Red Dwarf, Dollhouse and Bones).
Another client of Wolfram and Hart is Weyland-Yutani, which built weapons and ships in Aliens.
So, that means M.A.S.H., Aliens, Buffy and all the aforementioned shows and movies exist within the same universe. Tommy Westphall's universe.
So, yeah...
To quote one reddit user:
"Forget the Matrix. We're all living in Tommy Westphall's mind."
If you're curious, here is a masterlist of all the TV shows that have been traced back to Tommy Westphall.

J.K. Rowling as Rowena Ravenclaw

Now, as we all know, J K Rowling sucks at worldbuilding as well as in many other ways. She is trash and belongs in the trash. Given that, the fact that any one aspect of her terrible worldbuilding bugs me in this the Year of our Trashfire 2024 - a decade after she first tore away her human mask to reveal her true terven visage - is ridiculous.
But I can’t help it. “Wit beyond measure is man’s greatest treasure” is just not proper tenth-century Old English. Either that line was added to Rowena’s diadem later or the diadem we see in the books is a later forgery in its entirety (and given that the diadem we see in the movies looks like Art Nouveau, it’s probably a recent forgery, too!).
For years now my brain has been idly taking that line out and trying to polish it into something approximating proper historical Old English. “More mickle than mathom-hoards / Is the wit of a wizard” is what I’ve got currently, and it’s still not right.
(“Mickle” is OE for “great”, a “mathom” is treasure, and as for “wit beyond measure” becoming “wizard”? “Wizard” is literally just “wise”+the superlative ending “-ard”.)
This is strictly me trying to find words with OE roots and stringing them together in something approximating OE poetry (hence the alliteration); it shouldn’t be mistaken for actual OE. Which might be more like … “Māran miċel þonne māþum-horda / Wesan þē wizard wittig”. It might be “bēon” rather than “wesan”? … And now that I’ve looked it up “wizard” as in “male magic-user” is a Middle English term; the OE is “wiċċa”/“wiċċe” depending on gender. Given its Rowena’s diadem it should be “wiċċe”. And without the -ard intensifier I need to find a way to add that back in, preferably a way that incorporates the W-alliteration.
“Wesan þē wiċċe wel-wittig”? “Bēon þē witt betest”? “Bēon þē witt unmetan”?
I’m certain I’m getting the case endings and declensions wrong. Blarg. No doubt my brain will continue to burn precious neurons on this until I get it right. Someday I shall finally be free.
Stupid Harry Potter, summoning fanfic ideas to rotate in my mind. Is this what it’s like to have an ex? Sometimes you still think of them despite the fact that you don’t miss them and can enumerate all the ways in which they suck? Aargh.

Rowle Family
Braxton Rowle & Antigone Rowle
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Braxton Rowle:
Euphemia Rowle & Thorfinn Rowle
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Euphemia Rowle:
Edvard Rowle & Galane Rowle
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Edvard Rowle:
Bethanya Rowle & Nilssandre Rowle
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bethanya Rowle:
IMPORTANTE LEER / IMPORTANT TO READ !

Hogwarts Legacy - Tour the Ravenclaw Common Room | PS5, Ps4, Xbox One, P...
Hogwarts Legacy: Hogwarts Legacy is a role-playing video game (RPG) developed by Avalanche Software and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment in collaboration with Portkey Games. The game will be released in February 2023 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC (Windows, via Epic Games Store and Steam); in April 2023 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and in July 2023 on Nintendo Switch. This game takes place in the world of wizards created by J. K. Rowling, without her being involved in the development and the scenario of the game. In 2022, Hogwarts Legacy is considered by some journalists to be the most anticipated video game of the year. Initially scheduled for 2021, the game's release was later announced for Christmas 2022. In August 2022, Avalanche Software announced the postponement of the game for the beginning of the following year, with a specific first release date. Hogwarts Legacy: Hogwarts Legacy, available Friday February 10, 2023 on PS5, PC and XBoxSeries. --------------------------------------------- Can you get into Ravenclaw common room? While the entrances to at least two of the other common rooms are guarded by means of passwords, the entrance to the Ravenclaw common room is a wooden door with no handle, only a knocker in the shape of an eagle. Does the Ravenclaw common room have a password? It was 'Caput Draconis' which is Latin for 'dragon's head' and that definitely fits as a straightforward password for the common room. What is the description of Ravenclaw common room? Description. The Ravenclaw common room was one of the airiest rooms at Hogwarts. It was a wide, circular room with graceful arched windows that punctuated the walls which were hung with blue and bronze silks and a midnight blue carpet covered in stars, which was reflected onto the domed ceiling. Where is Ravenclaw house located? Entrance. The entrance to the common room was located on the west side of Hogwarts at the top of a spiral staircase located on the fifth floor, and was a door without a doorknob or keyhole, but a bronze knocker in the shape of an eagle. Why is Ravenclaw so good? Ravenclaw is famous for welcoming eccentric people Intensely intelligent, Ravenclaws are also unique and think outside the box. This is usually a good thing, unless by 'thinking outside the box' you mean stealing other wizards' stories and erasing their memories, like a certain Ravenclaw called Gilderoy Lockhart. Who is the last heir of Ravenclaw? Andrea Deanisi as Wiglaf Sigurdsson, the Heir of Rowena Ravenclaw. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- *- How many hours is Hogwarts Legacy? According to a leaked art book of the game, Hogwarts Legacy will reportedly take 35 hours to complete the main story. *- What GPU does Hogwarts Legacy use?                     Recommended/High Specs RAM                                 16 GB GPU                                 NVIDIA GeForce 1080 Ti or AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT or INTEL Arc A770 DX VERSION                         DX 12 STORAGE                        85 GB SSD ---------------------------------------------------------------------- *- Can you get married in Hogwarts? Technically, weddings are not allowed at the Wizarding World, so they had to do it guerrilla-style (having a wedding while not booking the public venue). To get it done on the sly, they met behind The Three Broomsticks for a super quick and really small ceremony with a handfasting and personal vows. You'll need at least an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Ti to play at 1440p, while the developer recommends jumping up to an AMD RX 7900 XT if you plan to play at 4K. Although the minimum system requirements don't seem like much, Hogwarts Legacy quickly becomes more demanding as you move past 720p.
