i know im basically a fandom art blog but i gotta step out of my lane and say: don't listen to people who say "your first knitting project can't be socks." it can be socks. they're all making socks more complicated than they need to be. they're working for Big Needles. don't listen to Big Needles listen to the people.
look at me. look me in the eyes. you don't need to sculpt a foot out of yarn. you don't need to turn a heel. shortrows??? never done 'em. a gusset???? probably a good idea — but not necessarily required. at least not for low arches.
the most basic sock you can make is a tube with two hats. a hat on the toe and a hat on the heel. anyone who tells you otherwise is lying. i have four pairs of socks and the only reason the first one doesn't fit me was bc i misplaced the heel. it will fit someone. just not me.
i am holding you by the shoulders. listen. i promise you. you don't need to make a hat first if you don't want to. you DO need to make tubes and the process of making a hat IS nearly identical to making a sock. but you just gotta learn to make tubes, and increases, and decreases, and do ribbing. it's okay. do what you want.
they're scared you'll think it's too challenging and give up. be fueled by spite. prove them wrong. have comfy socks.

sonic 3 opinions (SPOILERS)
i only recently started brainrotting about shadow so people who r more die hard plz plz chime in if you would like.
correct me if im wrong, but doesn't shadow's entire backstory and motivation and agency hinge on the fact that he was made to 1) save maria and 2) be a weapon (ULF) for GUN? so the fact that the movie gets rid of these two feels,,, kinda important? the whole reason shadow is compelling as an anti-hero is because his choices are guided by maria's dying wish which, surprise surprise, was also cut.
cutting that gerald created him AND maria's dying wish just feels like they really watered shadow down a lot. idk someone please um actually me on this i wanna be schooled

i feel like a lot of people ignore the fact that in a lot of places, bicycling just. cannot be done for half the year, & that's why public transport being good is important. i cannot bike in 5 feet of snow & ice or in 40c heat. i can't even walk in that, unless i have the energy to snowshoe or a bucket of ice water to chug.
"but I can do it!" good for you. unfortunately i live in Berk (snowing for 9 months of the year & hailing the other 3) & cannot unless i want to die. also disabled people exist. & children. & people who live in a place where everything is no closer than 30 minutes away, & 30 minutes in -30c can kill you if you can't afford a good pair of boots & a good coat. i may have bike paths but the river floods past them every year. what do i do then? bike on the highway?? just let me take the train

i have got to remember to make an appointment with an actual primary care doc
#i'm like... 75% sure? that the problem i have w my knees when i go for long walks is not the arthritis. or like.. not ONLY that#like. maybe stuff like last night is arthritis bc i hadn't gone for a walk in days & it hurt after inactivity which is more what u'd expect#but the thing where if i walk round for more than an hour my knees tell me to fuck off and won't let me jog to catch a bus feels different#if i had to guess it's an overuse thing like itbs bc it ONLY happens if i've walked More Than Usual. or Down A Hill#and like. i realize RA can affect more than literally Just the lining of ur joints. including ur tendons & whatnot#but i would like solutions that are not just 'throw more meds at the problem'#which don't get me wrong. love meds. my shoulder hasn't been an asshole in 2 years#or rather. not that much of one#but meds r not helping w my knees so i would like another opinion on what might be helpful
