“Is he in Jersey?” literally made me cackle.
Donnie vs Witchtown would’ve been a bit different in the red rover au

Fuck it. I told myself I wouldn’t die with my ideas, so here I go.
My RotTMNT AU (Part 1)
Part 2 Feel free to ask questions!
The working title is RotTMNT Valience, but that IS NOT OFFICIAL. I need to find a better word that somehow sums it up
My original idea for this came to me as a thought rabbit hole while I was half asleep watching a video essay on rise Casey. I woke up the next morning to find a really long notes document entailing the weirdest idea for a comic and I’ve been hyperfocusing on it since.
Spoilers ahead ig?? Idk just in case. I def reference the movie and some later events of the show..
The comic idea that started it all: Capril get set up on a date by the turtles, splinter and Casey (I usually call Casey Jones Junior either Casey, CJ, or Junior, and Cassandra Jones some variation of Cassandra, or senior if I’m feeling annoying). They start a little rocky but right when they start getting along, they get interruped by Sunita, who calls April for help. See, Sunita’s been put in charge of Hueso Junior and Sloppy Joe, and they’ve managed to do the incredibly disgusting impossible and combined into a tiny, messed up Don Suave. Who is slimy. And vile. And generally gross to look at and touch. Capril run to help Sunita (and Usagi’s there too), and eventually the four seperate “Sloppy Bones.”
This dumb comic brought up a lot of questions:
Why is Sunita working at Hueso’s?
Better question, why was Usagi working at Hueso’s?
If CJ was setting up Capril, are they together in the future?
Why can sloppy Joseph and Hueso Junior do that?
When is this set? Okay, that one I have an answer to:
It’s a plot continuation, so there are no differences in the show and movie, aside from the following (most of which are just headcanons) :
- The new lair (the subway lair) got destroyed during the Krang Invasion, so they had to relocate AGAIN. For a while, they stayed at the Jones’ farm, before Piebald and Mikey found a suitable sewer for them to stay at.
- There’s a hidden city under most major cities (this was already a concept the show had plans to explore but yk) - the big ones are under Tokyo (Neo Edo), New York, Cairo, Manila, Buenos Aires, Delhi, and a couple of others that were built in places with no humans (we don’t talk about the Mariana Trench)
- After the episode “Mind Meld,” Mikey, Leo, and Raph all have issues recalling certain things. It’s all very minor and none of them notice, but Donnie realises something must’ve happened because none of the others seem to remember the purple dragons???
- Everyone from Witch Town overexaggerated how much damage Donnie did and they all seem to think he blew up Witch Town (he didn’t. It’s still there. Mandela affect ig)
- Cass and April aren’t super close (esp cos April likes to bring up the foot clan thing), but April does appreciate Cass’s help. That last scene of the movie where she goes “our friend Cassandra” is mostly bc Cass let the turtles stay at the farm and April considers that to mean Cass is their friend. The two start to build up a bond and eventually start dating (I hate slow burn but writing it is kinda fun lol?? Wasn’t expecting that)
The BIG differences are all to do with the Prison Dimension.
- Time works really weirdly there. Aging is slowed, wounds tend to start physically affecting you hours after you actually got them, and time is faster there than on earth.
- Leo was in the prison dimension for 9 minutes on earth, but spent almost a year in the prison dimension. Most of that time, he was being beaten up by the Krang, but there was a brief period of time where he was at the labour camp.
- Speaking of which, the prison is Usagi’s home dimension. HEAR ME OUT. Back during the rise QnA, it was said that one of the ideas for a rise version of Usagi was that his home dimension was overrun by the Krang and he wanted the turtles’ help. This sparked the idea in my head that when the four mystic warriors locked the Krang away, they sent them to the dimension of Honshu, which was entirely barren aside from a planet (Mutsu), a moon, and a sun (which now revolves around the central mass of rubble created when the Krang blew shit up).
- The Krang enslaved everyone, and killed anyone who didn’t comply, turning an entire planet into a small community of around 50-80 people, and forcing them to work at a labour camp. The labour camp’s goal? Create a portal out of the prison dimension. The Krang used some pretty nasty tactics to enslave the people including:
- Appointing a figurehead to enforce the Krangs’ rules
- Letting them hold onto an ounce of hope in the form of mystic healers, who ultimately couldn’t do anything, because most of their mystic power was locked away.
- Infecting rebels and forcing them to stand sentry around the camp (when the Krang left the prison dimension, the sentries all passed out because there wasn’t anything to connect them to the hive mind)
- Straight up torture reminiscent of the messed up stuff from medieval Europe. Fun..?
- Not letting anyone sleep, drink, or eat. Only healers are allowed to sleep, and the injured can barely rest. No one dies because of this, but it does keep everyone super low energy and exhausted.
- There are a couple of artefacts from before the Krang came to Honshu, and all of them are powerful enough to temporarily disable the Krang. Any that were of lower power were destroyed by the Krang when they first came, and the rest were hidden, their wielders destroyed.
- When the Krang leave, Usagi tries to escape, and the rest of the labour camp citizens push the (currently unnamed) figurehead and the Krang zombies into the void. They then surround the camp with an impenetrable bubble to stop the Krang from entering the labour camp.

Hello! I was just wondering if you were planning to continue your LOTR/ROTTMNT Fusion AU?
Probably not. And if I ever did, it wouldn't be anytime soon. By the time I left the rottmnt fandom, it had been awhile since I was really having fun or feeling appreciated, and this au especially was just feeling like work.
If anyone was interested, and wanted to see a specific scene in this au, I suppose I wouldn't be against doing that. But I really don't see myself coming back to this in a story or comic format like I'd been trying to do.
Here's all my notes I had left for the au, under a readmore because it got a little long:
(the first page is Leo's conversation with Big Mama, based off Frodo's with Galadriel, and my attempts to merge Big Mama's personality/character with her role in this story as someone "good")
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Some additional notes I had on paper:
Foot Clan are normal humans under Saki (Saruman) until he Krang infects some of them (Urukhai)
The big urukhai is Foot Brute. Foot Lieutenant is Mouth of Krang (unmutated?)
Orcs are Krang infected Yokai, humans, animals
When Krang is defeated, they become unkrangified, many dropping dead
Some men march to join Krang and be mutated to protect their families/homes (keeping the manipulation/misinformation)
Characters I hadn't gotten around to showing/designing yet:
Draxum (human design) as Theoden
(Sloppy) Joseph (human) as Theodred
Jennika (human) as Eomer
Venus (human) as Eowyn
Casey Jr (Cassander) as Faramir
2003 Bishop as Denethor
Warren Stone as Gollum

Okay for real though the Wolverine imagery does make me more confident about Draxum getting redeemed like:
Tumblr media
I know there’s a soft heart buried in there somewhere, you cranky asshole. You got attached to Sloppy Joseph even after he nearly lost you your job, you will grow to love the turtles and April. You have no choice. 🔫

Some rise stuff.. Cassie and Yuichi (ft fourteen year old Cassie who hadn't chopped all her hair off yet), some of Raph and Mona's kids as little babies, and Sloppy Joseph all grown up and a mad scientist like their dad. They go by Joey and they transed their gender.. who knows from what to what.. I sure don't.

fic i wrote about splinter begrudgingly helping a burned out draxum care for joseph
set before the hidden city episodes, so splinter is still ready to chuck his casserole at draxum. yes, joseph's age seems to fluctuate a lot in the show, but as far as I'm concerned That's A Baby

Rise of the Tmnt: Fist of Furry Clothes don’t make the Turtle/ Battle nexus
Ok So these episodes we hype, insane and completely chaotic.
So in these episodes we have. The boys’s dynamnic is absolutely amazing! There are some adorable moment between them.
Sloppy Joseph: I think helps Draxum in the cafiteria. In his cool 90s get up so yay.
Frank: I like him and his dork squad (Konmodo Dragrons) as well. He is so strange and kinda creepy but also really nice.
Leo: Houdini huh, that explians where Leo get some of his tricks from and partically explains Leo’s mad skills. Also Leo with Houdini Journals “I don’t want to read them I just want to keep them and snuggle them a little bit.” This dork. Leo competes with Donnie for a little bit of glory, Also leo “For Donnie’s Honor.” Lol. In last part of Battle Nexus, we see Leo shielding Mikey while Raph shields Donnie. Later we see him using Mikey as a weapon againts Shredder.
Donnie:  His weakness is music. If the grove is funky he has to move lol. When the entire New york city disappears it might be Donnie’s fault. Also Donnie records everything. He now has mind control audio that he can use..
Mikey: The reason why he can lift heavey objects like a cargo tanker might actually be because of his mystic weapon ability in stead of his strength. I notice that the string on his Kusari Fundo becomes a chain when he uses it on heavier objects. That makes sense.
Raph: His hibernating attack move is cool. The turtles combination attack was cooler.
Splinter: Was amazing!
Foot Recuit: uses April’s bat for a brief second in the fight against Shadow Fiend (Shredder). Then later after she discovers it is Shreader her reaction is terrifying. I wonder what will happen next. Will she be the next Ultimate Villain?
Draxum: Chibi Draxum is amazing!
Villians: I like how it seemed that they will be redeem in the Battle Nexus episode, but then they decide to book it in the final show down. I like this for two reason. 1. They are villains who might stay as villians in this series. 2. They don’t want anything do with the weird chaos Big Mama has orchestrated.
Finally “Its the speaker! Kill it!” This line was hilarious to me.
