I’ve seen around theories about ninpo being connected with emotions, but I found something I haven’t seen lots of people talk about!

(It’s fairly long so continue after cut lol)

So Mikey is a staple to this argument, since he’s the most connected to his emotions from his brothers and he’s the one who figures out his mystical weapon first. Also he becomes something short of a god in the apocalypse

This connection has also been seen how Ralph tends to use his powers to protect his brothers and how Donnie, a logic driven character, uses ninpo to create the entirety of the U.S arsenal

But I haven’t seen much of Leo?

And yet he has a specific scene that just ENHANCES this whole thing!

Remember in the movie when he’s trying to explain to Casey that he messed up?

His marks are glowing

Just as they glow when using ninpo or other mystic abilities

Also notice how no other character is glowing

He’s also VERY distressed, in a way we haven’t seen much of until now, AND lots- I mean LOTS- of character analysis reference the movie as one of the biggest evidences of Leo’s insecurities

A commonly made point is his rapid change from face-man-as-a-joke to ignorant-even-when-in-a-HUGE-argument-with-Ralph

In this scene we also see his facade crack, as his facial expression alternates LOTS

So if we’re merging the ideas of ninpo with Leo’s struggle with his emotions, it helps explain why it is his marks glow. It’s becoming harder to hide his true feelings, and one of the ways they’re showing is through ninpo. And as his feelings are a mess, his ninpo in battle can be a bit uncoordinated, which can ALSO explain lots of his blunders in the movie (lack of plan and insecurity of ability to execute it directly affecting his ninpo use)

Even though in the series we don’t get him blatantly admitting to all of this, I feel it’s more so because of the show being cut off rather than disproving this point

I’m not sure if I’m REALLY onto something or if someone already covered it, but I just thought it was really cool and wanted to put it out there!

Little Frida Doodles (pt. 2)

I had state testing today and did some Frida sketches in between them (a little more lore-based and plot relevant, and yes I have a plot outlined now so progress:))

This one is inspired by the song Gladiator by Jann and is from her Battle Nexus time and it just kinda looks weird… she’s supposed to be charging her opponent but whatever

Then this one is her using her ninpo and I think the turtles unlocked theirs by trusting their family but I think Frida’s would’ve been something a little more… forced. But I mean it worked (ish) so whatevs (she channels her ninpo through her arms to her arrows; side note I think she’d like the bow as a weapon pretty well so I’m making it her main one)

So during "Rise: Finale Part 4" the insignia on the turtles' team emblems glow a light blue with their ninpo:

But in the movie, they glow green:

A bit unrelated but still kind of related, Mikey's ninpo also has some changes too, regarding his stickers.

In "Rise", his stickers glow like this:

But in the movie, his stickers do not appear to glow when his ninpo is activated:

Kk, so I'm a little obsessed with the Fusion Mayhem AU @teenagenutant made- And I have a bunch of personal hcs and I remade T.I.T.I.A.N. into Masaccio... Soooooooooo- Time to post about that now-

Mikey: Y’know, with this new fusion ninpo stuff- it kinda feels like we have 6 new brothers! Leo: Well, kinda. I agree with Mike, this fusion thing is pretty sick!

Raph: Yeah! It’s kinda like when we fuse we get a better understanding of each other. Even if our fusions are different from us. I think-?? That’s what Draxum said, right Don? Donnie: Affirmative, it would seem that despite being literal fusions of our personalities, habits, thoughts, physical traits, et cetera, in these new forms we act like new people. We feel like new people. Mikey: So crazy!! And it feels kinda weird too, haha. Raph: We haven’t really used 'em much outside of fighting. Leo: Meeeeeh- Gal was kind of an accident. We didn’t mean to fuse, we were just making fun of Warren and Hypno. Raph: True! But that was the case for most of em.

Donnie: Okay but can we all agree that Masaccio is the most fabulous out of everyone? Mikey: Hah! You wish! I personally think Nino is the most dapper if I do say so myself! Leo: Yeah! Plus he’s the only one with luscious locks, unlike the others. Raph: Hey, hey, lets not pick favorites- Donnie: -Scoff! At least we have real eyebrows! And cool explosions! Leo: So? Who needs explosions when you have magic and portals? Raph: Guys, c’mon I just said-

Donnie: Aaaand we don’t look like Gene Wilder. Mikey: *Gasp!* What’s wrong with Willy Wonka?! It adds to the trickster-y magician vibe!!

Leo: Yeah!! Plus what about you? You stole our diamond look! And you guys just talk about how great you are whenever you’re Masaccio! Not gonna lie, you’re kinda self centered. Donnie: You realize you’re the turtle currently speaking, correct?

Leo: Pssh- and?

Mikey: *Wraps his arm around Leo* Face it Dee! You guys are just jelly of how magical we are! Leo: And our dripping good looks. Raph: Seriously, can we not make something a competition for once? Mikey: Says the one who’s losing the competition. Raph: Wh-! … *gets an idea* …Fine. You know who my favorite is? I like Angelico’s vibe. Mikey: Say what?! For realsies?! Donnie: Gasp!! Betrayal Raphael!!! Leo: Mikey! Remember Nino! Raph: For real, big man! He’s a pretty cool dude. And plus, who doesn’t love mystic maces with fire power, huh? And he’s got this like- “cool anime sensei” thing goin on! Mikey: Yeah he does, baby!!

Leo: Oh yeah-!?! Well- *grabs Donnie* Our double bladed ninja staff is way cooler than your mace. Pssh, who even uses maces anymore. Amirite? Mikey: You take that back, Leo!! Maces are the bomb! 

Donnie: He does have a point though. Together, we can portal in useful tech from my lab into battle like my attack drones or even the escape pods if we needed them. His portals become more accurate and stable while my ninpo constructs become more complex and powerful… In other words, Gali rules! Mikey: Wha-!? *he smirks, gaining the same idea as Raph* Fine then! What about Newton? I think he’s the most productive out of any of our fusions! Plus, he’s like the best of both artsy and science-y worlds! Newton’s pretty much a super geniusLeo: (Way to toot your own horn…) Raph: *Actually getting sucked into the argument now* Hey- wait- what about Anime Sensei?! Mikey: Does Anime Sensei have a cool theme song? I think not, Raphie! *Slides over to Donnie* 

Leo: Okay, as cool as you may think he is, you guys almost blew up the lair once. At least Gali’s a chill scientist. And we’re productive too!! Raph: Not really actually. Mikey: Yeah, you guys are more into space stuff than anything else. Leo: Wh-?! You don’t know what’s going on in our heads! We get so much done. Ask Donnie! Donnie: Surprisingly, while we do get a lot done, it’s still not as much as Newt. Leo: Traitor! *slides over to Raph and climbs on his shoulders* What about the amount of times Gio’s gotten you two out of trouble? Mikey: Psssh, you guys just become one big worry-wart whenever you fuse. Donnie: *Chuckles*

((Both look away at the comment)) Leo: No! Well- maybe, but that’s because of how much destruction comes with all of your “Super-Genius” energy. And you can’t even keep up with yourselves half of the time! Raph: Yeah, you two always crash after you fuse! I don’t think you’ve ever stayed together for more than 2 hours. Gio is the ultimate big bro and the best leader. *he fist bumps Leo* Donnie: Hey!! Mikey: Not our fault even we can’t keep up with how sick we are! Leo: Nino could beat all of you in a magic-off. Raph: Oh really? Well Masa looks cooler than all of you combined!

Donnie: And, Newton could out-create any of you. Mikey: Well Angel could razzmatazz and punch his way out of anything!

((A while of arguing later April walks in on them.)) April: Uhh… What’s this whole situation about?? Leo: APRIL!! Quick- tell them all of my fusions are the best! April: What? Donnie: Negative, Leonardo. My fusions are better, and you know it. April: What are you- Mikey: -Uh-uh!! Ain’t no way you’re turning April against us! Your fusions may be smarter, but my fusions have pizazz and flare, baby!

April: Guys.

Raph: No way! Raph’s fusions are the coolest. Who doesn’t love my big brother energy? And they’re all the strongest! April: HEY!!! …What are you guys talking about?! What do you mean by fusion??? Is this a game??

((All of them pause and light up again, almost forgetting about the argument.))

Mikey: We haven’t told you?!

Leo: Come sit down, we’ll fill you in!

Donnie: According to Draxum we’ve acquired a new ninpo ability called ‘Fusion’!

Raph: It’s so weird, but here’s the rundown- basically it combines our powers-

Sisters a Dimension Apart: How Ninpo works

Vita’s Ninpo takes the form as two giant lighting whips that she can transform into solid spears. Vita prefers to use Ninpo to attack rather than any physical weapon. She feels like she has more control over her Ninpo. Her ninpo is a dark orangish red.

Frida’s ninpo works like an echo knight in D&D. She can create a transparent version of herself that she can see and hear through and move around. What she doesn’t know yet is that she can also swap places with her holographic clone. Frida is not the best at her Ninpo and prefers to not use it. She can only keep the clone stable for a few minutes before it fizzles out. Her abilities to look through its eyes are very limited. She trains with Draxum even after Vita was gone but with the disappearance of her sister her Ninpo grew weaker. Frida’s Ninpo is a dark purplish navy.

Rottmnt Possessed AU

So… It all started with this art of Ghost Leo that I drew quite some time ago.

And then I had an idea.

Do you remember how Gram-Gram died, did the Hamato glowy thing, turned into light and possessed April at the end of season 2?

Will Swannie miss his wings? He’s been like that for about a year now, he probably gotten use to the wings and the pain in his calves/legs…would Donnie get like….phantom pain or something because of the missing wings? Would he in some way try to get them back or have a reminder of them? Will Donnie even try or want to dance again?

donnie doesn't usually dance on pointe anymore-- it was a rare occasion pre-curse, and now post, the physical demand is typically too much for him to handle. but when your little brother knows levitation magic, anything is possible for a special occasion.

generally speaking, though?

there's no way he's ever gonna want to stop dancing.

... well, the end of the main storyline, anyway! the end of the story for swannie that i wanted to tell. the au will still be around! <3 swanatello has pretty much always been built on the asks i've received about it, and i still have more tucked away in my hoard that i intend to get to at some point or another as little bonus side stories, and my askbox is always open as well...! and on that note--

thank y'all so, so much for your support on this magickal girl journey. i NEVER expected to get the amount of love or attention that i did for my silly little donniesona that was based on a pun, but i had so much fun with this comic and am so grateful to y'all <3 like i said, this entire au was really powered by the amount of asks i received about him and his story, and it was really such a fantastic experience for me all around. not including any non-canon crossover content, this comic is approximately 965 pages long! definitely wasn't my plan when i doodled him for the first time as a goof, haha.

Donnie doesn't sit quite where he is supposed to, because I flew too close to the sun and he paid the price for my hubris.

I was sad to glue Casey to the base, holding him brought me joy... But I think he turned out pretty good!

I need a better camera, there is weathering on Casey's arm and leg wraps that you can't see... I think he looks better in person, too... The nose shading between his eyes is my favorite part for some reason.

Edit: Forgot to mention, I am aware I put the top ninpo arm on backwards, looks super cool and menacing from certain angles lol

The two different reactions to discovering you have a magical dragon counterpart (+bonus excited Leo)

Leo is actually the only one of the turtles who's markings glow a color that isn't his signature color when his ninpo is activated.

Of course, he does also have markings that glow his own color, being on the back of his shell.

But his stripes, which even when not in ninpo mode are not blue, do not glow blue.

I also want to briefly bring up Leo's red stripes. Because his yellow ones, just glow yellow, which is the color they are.

Yet the red stripes, along with glowing pink, also have an outer yellow/orange glow on them. Which does make the glowing of his marking stranger in comparison to the others.

(I do want to briefly note that during "Rise: Finale Part 4", Mikey does contradict this claim, as the stickers on his shell glow. But in the movie, they do not appear to glow when his Ninpo is activated, suggesting that the glow in "Rise" (which actually is pretty strange when you look at it) was probably because that was the first time they had truly activated their ninpo)

(Also, tiny other rant here. Raph is the only one of the four to have no personal glow whatsoever from activating his ninpo. For him, due to not having markings like the others, the only time parts of his ninpo glow are when he is actually using its power, and that is the power glowing itself. Not Raph or any markings.)
