Photos I took of my pets as a child in the 90s
#it’s so hard to look at these photos#I’m hoping maybe putting them here will help me face the pain and trauma associated with them#I think it’s especially painful because they were all such sweethearts#actual angels who were so gentle and patient with baby me#if i could go back in time and save all of them I fucking would 😭#max the malamute 🖤#best boy in the world he was such a good dog#my cousins family gave me him as a puppy#the torties were named Romeo and Juliet (even tho they were both boys 🤣)#(yeah boy torties are from the same litter! idk what happened! 🤣)#Garfield was the orange cat (and mama to the torties)#best girl in the world so sweet. she was almost completely deaf and blind#German shepherd was buddy#sweet playful boy 🖤#I didn’t get to know him very well because he (all my pets did) lived with my dad and at that point I stopped going to his house a lot#bear was the rottie#sweet boy he died really tragically my dad loved animals but was fucking stupid sometimes#and the black puppy… also died really tragically. never even lived long enough to get a name.#some of these might be pushing into 00-4 maybe#the ones of buddy are probably from then because I’m pretty sure we got him while I was in middle school#I drafted this post a few months ago and honestly doing this + writing about them really did help me process my feelings towards them#so now I’m ready to share :)#I just love the idea of seeing the world through a child’s eyes#this is what little me thought was important! lol

Tried herding for the first time today with a friend's Rottie... had a fantastic time. Except my toes are VERY frozen, so I need to invest in some better boots. LOL
#ive been meaning to but kept saying ehhh i dont need to#but the fact that my toes have been numb for 8 hours probably proves i should reconsider. lol#anyway just goats! the rottie is 3 he knows what hes doing im just at the end of the lead#he did so good#it was mostly just me remembering etiquette#luckily i have never had an anxiety problem in the ring and i have worked with this venues goats before so no issue there#actually i might have helped tag these goats when they were wee babies#haha

I had to let the cable guy in today because my mom wasn't home from work yet and he's like "is an adult home? I need to talk to someone who's at least 18" I'm just like yeah bro I'm 25 what's up?

like. we’re on the rez. even if you think my cats will stick to the house (they dont. our one neighbor has constantly seen both of my cats on her porch) that doesn’t mean nothing else will get near the house. a half blind rottweiler is not that great a guard
#ive seen coyotes raccoons and other wild dogs wander nearby.#even if said rottie scares most off doesn’t mean he gets everything plus it just makes my cats bolt if theyre outside and i cant do anything#cause im at work when this happens!!!#i learn of these instances from my brother because he’s the one getting them back inside#im losing hair and the skin around my nails from picking and pulling out of stress i just want to know my babies are safe#and it feels like no one cares!!!! bc how dare i ask them to slightly modify routine#to keep some of the most valuable things to me safe#slush.text

#i miss my dog#long story short my first baby that was my own was a puppy that i adopted with my ex#her name is Sarah and she was a rottie/german sheperd mix and was absolutely beautiful#and since ex was recovering from surgery when we got her i raised her from a baby#and did all her training and took her out to parks and new places and just totally threw myself into taking care of her#she was so well trained and so sweet and so nervous all the time. i worked on confidence building with her and she trusted me so much#she listened to me over anyone else and ran to hide behind me when she was anxious and would let me do things she wouldnt let anyone elsedo#and then. of course. when we split up my ex took her with her.#i got the second puppy we'd been raising for a few months at that point.#her logic was that she picked Sarah out so she was hers and I picked Lucas out so he was mine#and it's not that I don't love him but I miss that dog so so much. she's reactive and hard to deal with and my ex just. never dealt with it#when we were together i was the one working on it and taking her out in public even though it was hard and walking her#so i know shes not getting the kind of care she needs. which makes it even fucking harder.#just. im trying to love the dog that I have and i do love him. i do! but she was my baby and i miss her so so much and i know shes not okay#ive been trying to give myself grace and know that i wont have as much of a bond with Lucas as i did with her right away and thats okay#but i know that i resent it a little bit every time im reminded that he's not her. and its going away#but slowly. and im trying to lean into doing the kind of things i did with her like training and confidence building and bonding#but ive been avoiding it because it makes me sad every time. but the lil fucker deserves better. and he needs some manners.#so im gonna work through it and just. do it with him. treat him with as much love as i did her when she was growing up.#itll either get better with time or it wont and ill deal with it when i get to it#but fuck do i miss her so much

Hey Anon! They’re doing awesome! Thanks for asking.
Cami will turn 10 months old tomorrow believe it or not. My eldest fur baby is growing up fast. She is very protective of Shae. She loves to cuddle and run around, and playing in the rain is one of her favorite things to do. Plus fetch. Belly rubs are her favorite thing ever.
Shae, my little precious runt. She is almost seven weeks old. She’s successfully eating big girl food, and she follows me and Cami everywhere we go. She is the princess of cuddles, and she loves when you scratch behind her ear.
