Meet the OCs!
Lucienne's is gonna be in a different format. I thought it'd be funny, considering the media she's made for.
Lucienne is also my newest OC. She's a baby compared to my others. So I haven't put her in many situations to really get a feel for her character.
Without further ado, meet Lucienne!
~~~~~
Name: Lucienne Allera
DoB: May 19th, 19XX
Age: Late 30s, Early 40s
Profession: Prosecuting Attorney
Height: 5' 5"
Weight: ⬛⬛⬛ lbs [Smudged, Illegible]
Hair: Medium Brown- oft dyed-, Shoulder to Mid-Shoulder Blade Length
Eyes: Forest/Mossy Green
Relatives: ["Parents" are weirdly smudged, with only a "F" legible], 3 Brothers (Leander, Lynn, & Leroy)
Friends: Carlton J. Lassiter, 4 Unnamed [A scribbled note in the margins remarks, "2 of 4 "Unnamed" are deceased and the other 2 are NC under suspicious circumstances."]
Bio:
Lucienne was born to F⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛ and ⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛ Allera and is the youngest of 4. Her older brothers- Leander, Lynn (affectionately referred to as Lynngon), and Leroy- were often her protectors, until they realised it was better to teach her how to fight.
Childhood suggests that it was rather lonely up until she met Carlton J. Lassiter at the age of 9. From there, she engaged with 4 other individuals, that she no longer was in contact with after high school. Vague whisperings suggest that she had a brief falling out with Lassiter during college due to his then bride-to-be, but nothing concrete could be confirmed.
She's often categorised as "Catty", "Upbeat", "Snarky", "Loyal", and "B⬛⬛y". [The last descriptor is smudged and barely legible]
Her work ethic is usually described as "Hardass". Rookie detectives often complain about how she, as a prosecuting attorney, rides their asses about credible evidence to convict. Coworkers often remark on her dedication when working a case, leading to long nights. (They also remark their concern for her health during those times.)
Some “sources” say that her mood is directly correlated to how disarrayed her hair is. (“Sources” are unverified and frankly quite sketchy. Went on about how “The Spirits told him so”. More investigation is required.) [In the margins, one could barely make out beyond some scribbles, “D⬛n Sp⬛⬛r!”]
Assessment:
Honestly, more observation is required. A proper assessment of how this character develops cannot be done with only one published story and the wild ideas of a chaotic writer. There is just not enough to say who she is.
How do you feel about Kathy's character being killed off the way she was vs removed from the narrative via something like divorce or cancer?
The symbolism of Elliot literally exploding back into Liv's life can't be beat but wow did the writers go with the extreme.
I don't mind that they killed her and I think it was the choice that made the most sense in setting up oc.
Not every woman's death is a fridging, and Kathy wasn't a character who only existed to die for a male character's inciting incident. She served a vital role in the narrative for over a decade and had her own character and motivations. Sometimes people die, and that grief is worth exploring, even more so when it's someone we know and care about.
And it had to happen.
Something dramatic had to bring Elliot back; in the established canon he hasn't talked to Liv for ten years. Ten. Years. That's such a long time and so much happened, and so much had to continue to happen to keep him separate from her. He had to continue to choose to stay away. And something had to change to bring him back.
Maybe that something is the divorce. But if it is, that means he and Olivia aren't confronting one another in a moment of grief. Liv is free to rage at him, and he hasn't been changed - hasn't been humbled - by loss. And if Kathy is still alive, why does he turn to Liv, anyway? What pushes them together? Is it just happenstance? Doesn't that hurt, too? Does he go looking her up? Why would he? At the point where they left things romance was not a feasible option for them as much as we might have wanted it to be and that was ten years before rotps; he's got no reason to think that there's any chance of anything romantic there. Maybe he just wanted to see his old friend, but we see in rotps that he really didn't want to speak to fin or Liv before he had to; he makes his excuses, but he chose to avoid them and he's sheepish when called out for it.
And they had to kickstart oc. To do that, to really come out swinging, they need stakes. Elliot has to be striving for something. They wanted oc to be exciting, to get people hooked into arc based storytelling. There are no higher stakes than looking for the person who killed Elliot's wife; it's personal and gripping from the jump, doubly so bc we know him, and we know her. And that's why cancer doesn't work; Elliot can't get in a fistfight with cancer.
So her death enables EO to meet each other at a point where Olivia can't hate him, even if she should. It gives a tangible reason for Elliot to be thinking about his mistakes and what he wants out of his life and to make changes. It gives an emotional hook and sets the stakes for oc.
And. As long as Kathy is alive l don't think eo works. As long as Kathy is alive, even if they're divorced, I think there's a part of Olivia (and a segment of the audience) that thinks she's taking something that doesn't belong to her.
1.How many works do you have on AO3?
20 works
2. What's your total AO3 word count?
170,154
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Law and Order SVU and Organized Crime
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
A decade without
Geocache
Bankers box
This is her story
Boarding passes
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I try to, as much as I can now! I wasn’t too good at it when I first started writing fic about a year ago-ish, but I’ve come to like the interaction with people :)
6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
either uncharted (bc it basically was a prequel fic to SVU ROTPS (back door pilot to Organized Crime) OR Purgatory (which basically was EO stuck together in hiding but it’s just them *not talking* featuring an unused shotgun).
Idk I try to end my fics on a happy note bc that’s just the type of person I am.
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
THIS IS HARD  like I said, I really try to end on a positive note because I love to wrap things up in a cutesy little bow but maybe geocache or bankers box since those are coming home stories.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
I did once, but I’ve since learned the art of comment moderation 🫡
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
I’m inclined to say no, but that would be a lie. I did in like 1 AU pilots fic. People said they liked it (maybe?) but I also am super uncomfortable writing it. It was a nice challenge to write it and to get out of my comfort zone.
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
SVU/OC live in the same universe, so while technically a crossover, I’m not going to count it here.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I know of!
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Not that I know of! But I have used Google translate in fic to have dialogue in another language.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Yes!
14. What's your all-time favorite ship?
Right now, it’s EO bc they’re the ship that got me to dive head first into all things fandom.
15. What's the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
….. gonna have crickets here…..
it’s not that I don’t like my 2 WIPs, it’s just that I think I bite off more than I can chew with both of them and I have second hand embarrassment from them now.
I also prefer to live in oneshot heaven 😇
16. What are your writing strengths?
Not sure… I like to think I can write a loosely enough connected thread to make a storyline come out of the woodworks… but I also don’t know exactly.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Oh most definitely grammar.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I’ve done it! It’s fun and at least for the EO ship, it’s a playground bc it’s a detail that we as fans know but the writers room seems to ignore/not sure how to incorporate it. Live laugh love continuity.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
SVU/OC
20. Favorite fic you've ever written?
oh gosh… this feels like a toss up because I have a few I always rec to people… this is her story holds a special place in my heart, but I also ADORE bankers box and geocache. Probably those 3 I feel like best represent my work, but I have little pieces of my heart deposited into all my writing 🫶
Thanks for the tag @somuchwhatever . If you come across this feel free to do it yourself!
Meet the OCs!
Gaile took so long to put together because I had to go looking for different notes to piece together my non-binary abomination.
Now. Those that have read Marvel Meets Pokémon are sitting there going, "But ROTP! Gaile was definitely feminine in that!" Surprise!
Gaile might've been fem in that, but as my Marvellous OC, Gaile is structured to fit the theme. For Pokémon, Gaile is a loving big sister with a penchant to annoy Tony. In the various WIPS I got lying around, Gaile can be masc or non-binary. Certainly, they have also appeared as trans.
With that outta the way, I'm proud to introduce
Gaile Paladino!
The defining feature of them is their hair. I've had red hair and rainbow; I didn't want to go with brunette or blonde, nor black hair. It hit me. White. Stark white hair. They're not albino, however, seeing as they have coconut brown eyes.
(I understand that in the Marvel Meets Pokemon snippets I do not describe that. That was my fault for leaving that just written in the various WIPs I have. It was actually described in the first story I WIPed with them in it.)
Gaile's backstory fluctuates, but the main take away is that HYDRA murders the fuck outta Gaile's parents and sometimes their brother, Domezio. They end up in the hands of HYDRA, escape and somehow meet with the Avengers.
In a recent WIP iteration, an adult Gaile- without tragic HYDRA capture- comes to Stark Industries to warn a recently-from-Afghanistan Tony about some hinky shit going down, thus becoming an invaluable asset to Tony as another P.A.
You'll have to give me an Ask to request the story for how Gaile knows Tony in Marvel Meets Pokemon. (I'm still taking requests and questions for it. Please don't be shy.)
Gaile is a fun character that is fiercely protective of what they consider theirs. Gaile is fallible, human, and my expression in my own gender identity. Marvel is the best place for them, seeing as you can be just about anything there. A flexible character in a flexible universe.
Meet the OCs!
Boy, oh boy! You guys are in for a treat for this OC! You got through Naruto. You slogged through Homestuck. Now get ready for... Supernatural! And it's a treat because I already had this meeting written a few years in advance in my docs.
I am going to preface this by saying, at the time of Ra'amEl/Pandora's creation, it was a dark time of Mary Sue attacks. Your OCs were judged and your story dismissed if found in violation of having... A Mary Sue. (It was dark, harsh times.) And unfortunately, my name actually is Pandora. (I go by Panda. Feel free to address me as such in your asks.) Which sucks when you want to write an interesting character that happens to have historical story background with the same name. So, while I have long since forgone the disdain of Mary Sue, that does come out in what I have for Ra'amEl.
Oh, oops! And there might be a bit of spoilers for GMTA for those that have read it. Not too sure.
And now... Meet Ra'amEl, Sometimes Known As Pandora!
Ra’amEl: Trickster, Greek Historical, and Angel of the Lord
When I was coming up with Ra’amEl, I wanted to make her backstory so complicated, you didn’t know what was true. She was based off of Hope, the 8th and last Deadly Sin, but I also wanted her to be an Angel. I did extensive research on the Angel of Hope and had many things to contend with and that caused many problems. So, That’s why no one knows right off the bat who she is, beyond Gabriel. (And later Castiel.)
When it came to how she looked, I wanted to create this mysterious, fantastical image that just popped out of some fantasy realm. She’s Light and Dark. Vibrancy in the palest of light. Tasteful with a touch of over-the-top. Her hair was chosen just to be different. I couldn’t really think of anything that I hadn’t done before. I didn’t want to do anything I did for my other stories, which honestly felt overused, and then it hit me: No one had rainbow coloured hair. Curls, maybe, but not multi-coloured hair.
I really wanted a really tall lady, but not Moose height. It also made it really hard for her to be called Mary Sue, because I would not look anything like her. Not even her personality hit home. The only strength she has, really, is her grace tied to Hope thanks to the incident in Greece when she took on the identity of Pandora. That’s the only thing we share. That name.
The story of Ra’amEl
Ra’amEl was the Angel of Hope in all but title. She was run out of Heaven by some other Angels, including Uriel, as a Fledgling. She hid on Earth, in Vessel and hid deep in the Vessel’s mind. That is, until Gabriel- posing as Loki- found her and took her under his wing, so to speak. Helping her become a Trickster, Gabriel played a trick to help her. He melded her Vessel- male at the time- with a Greek woman, named Pandora. Of course, following the story of Pandora’s Box, the Seven Deadly Sins need Vessels themselves. As the Seven went about finding a Vessel, Hope, the 8th and widely unknown Deadly Sin, attached to her Grace. The reason it attached and fused with her Grace is still unclear, though the running theory is that because she was supposed to be the Angel of such Sin; it put itself back with its rightful owner. Thus, Pandora became a Trickster but houses an Angel? (That part was always confusing.) {Meta: Pandora was actually the soulless Vessel for Ra’amEl’s Grace. There never was a Pandora. Just a named, empty Vessel that was intended to be a hub for Ra’amEl, but ended up getting a little more than it was made for.] That led to long hard training on how to control, basically herself. While not being that powerful, her power is boosted if someone around holds Hope in their mind. She cannot die until *ALL* Hope dies. So long as there is even a tiny spec of Hope, Ra’amEl lives on. It’s a blessing and a curse.
Personality
Man, I don’t know what I was thinking when I thought up her personality. She mostly doesn’t hold grudges, but will hold one if it’s really bad. She’s usually upbeat, until someone pisses her off. Then she becomes a sassy Sally. Be prepared to be called an ignorant slut if you don’t know something. She’s kinda maternal towards Gabe and Cas after losing her child in the purge of Nephilim. Cas is reluctant and bratty because of it, inciting her maternal wrath. She doesn’t show love that well, so it manifests in that maternal side.
Meet the OCs!
Welcome back to meeting my OCs! You met Usagi Alex from my Naruto stories. Today! We meet the lovely Alexandria "Xandria" Eralato!
God.... Where do I begin.... Can I just say this was the OC I made in my Homestuck days and leave it at that? No? Shit, okay.
Xandria was the makings of a teen who was really into Homestuck, red hair, and making twin OCs. (I blame Harry Potter for 2/3s of that.) Xandria is the main OC out of the "line" of twins. I mainly dealt in Human!stuck 'verses, so.... I honestly have no words.
Xandria is tall-ish. Short-Long red hair. One WIP- that'll never see the light of day- said she had blue eyes, so there's that. Her fashion is wacky. Her cars are my day dreams. She's gracefully graceless. She's bubbly and caring. She sticks by her friends no matter what because she knows what it's like to not have that one person be there for you. (Xander may be her twin, but he hates everything about her.)
Xandria is so much, that I don't even know who she is fully. I look forward to seeing who she evolves into.
For those that are waiting for an update to GotO, I am so sorry it is taking this long. The story was the teenage ramblings of a Homestuck that developed some kind of plot that adult me lost. I've taken a step back from it to try and figure that out, in addition to trying to see what the next step in the story is. Thank you for having patience with it.
Meet The OCs
I'd been contemplating this for a while, but I figure that I should do a OC profile thing. It's really had to write in an OC's backstory if they aren't the main focus of the story. Which. Considering my OCs... They're really more like tools to facilitate certain aspects of the story. But! They are fully fleshed characters with their own stories.
So, if you wanna get to know them, let's start with my oldest OC!
Meet Usagi Alex!
A AU: Modern Day Naruto OC, she's the same-ish age as Naruto and and the rest, long red hair, presumably some normal eye colour, and a can do attitude that helps her get through shenanagains galore. She's only a couple of centimetres shorter than Naruto in height and of similar build. (Though with more defined breasts.)
Alex comes from a loving family- that moved to Konaha when Alex was a kid- that took one look at Konaha's treatment of Naruto and decided, "Fuck that." Alex never grew up with the attitude the other kids picked up, as her parents took no heed of the "advice" of the other villagers. She grew up with Naruto, wishing there was a way that her family could take him in. (There wasn't and the Council blocked them at every turn that they could.)
Because of her surname, Alex had to endure a ton of teasing. She eventually played into it, citing that by playing it up, she took the power of the insults away. And honestly, it became really fun for her to try and see how far she could push the joke.
She can absolutely be serious when the occasion calls for it. She'd rather keep a playful demeanor, but will turn absolutely ruthless if you dare to hurt her of those close to her.
My only justification in her very English name is that I was like 13 at the time that I started to write fanfiction and I've only now just come up with the defense that we have a canon character named 'Killer Bee'. The other defense I just came up with, is that her mother is American. Take this for what you will.
My asks are always open if you have any questions. I will be doing more of these soon. And for those that are waiting on my Psych fics, I'm working on it. The schmoop is making it hard to get to the angst that drives the stories. (Or in case of the ABO fic, the amount of shit I need to establish first before diving into the real meat of that story.)
I wish SVU had explored the Olivia as alcoholic storyline but I also would have loved to see a post-Jenna Elliot as alcoholic storyline where he refused to contact Liv because he wouldn’t put her through that knowing what he knows about Serena
YES on both points. They took the cowards way out of the Olivia storyline - they dropped hints and then one single line from Tucker and it's over. It's not uncommon for children of addicts to replicate the behaviors they saw growing up as coping mechanisms, and for Liv at that stage, when she talks about how she's barely sleeping and she's constantly afraid for Noah, it makes sense. Showing her actually struggle and work to pull herself back - instead of implying that all it took was one person to express concern one single time and suddenly it's over - would've been compelling, though I'm not sure I trust them to have done it well.
The Elliot thing is so interesting bc his 10 years are a more or less blank slate. He went walkabout for a few years - ok so I think that means the person who wrote that line doesn't really know what walkabout means, first of all, but second of all, I guess we are meant to imply that his version of walkabout was the private security work, that took him overseas, away from his family. He's been working with the nypd in Rome for 4 years at rotps, so that's 6 years really unaccounted for. Did he spend all six of those years traveling, leaving Kathy alone with Eli, running from himself? Separated from his family, his home, who is he spending his time with? What about the period between him leaving the job and getting started with the private security work? The idea of Elliot going to hide out somewhere for a few months and losing his mind - drinking, lost in depression, doing God knows what - is very very interesting to me. I don't think, based on their interactions in oc, that he was hanging out in Jersey with Bernie, so where would he have gone? And yeah absolutely the whole time he's desperately wanting to call Liv but won't let himself - he thinks she deserves better, and he thinks he doesn't deserve her.
Part of me would like the show to fill in the gaps but part of me thinks that whatever we come up with here will be much more interesting lol
i know you've talked about it before, but why do you think svu is lit so badly when oc does a much better job with it? do you think the literal darkness is intentional/stylistic? i'd be interested to hear your thoughts! (inspired by me fighting for my life in photoshop - for context, the top corner has no edits done, the bottom has maybe around 12 adjustment layers. if the scene were lit like that in the show, i'd want it brighter, as is its hard to push it too much further in ps without the image starting to degrade)
It is wild how different the two shows are and it really becomes apparent when trying to make gifs!!! I don't know why they're so different but I do think it's stylistic/intentional. OC tends to be very blue, and svu tends to be more brown, and that's down to choices in how the shots are set up. I talked about the lighting recently with the trauma in a pear tree hotel, and with that scene and this one I think maybe an argument can be made that the (imo v poor) lighting is meant to convey a sense of intimacy; it's late, it's dark, the spaces these conversations are taking place in is private, and the dim lighting may be intended to pull the viewer in to that moment. It doesn't; the struggle to make out facial expressions/details is alienating and unsatisfying. In both those scenes you know the actors involved are putting their whole pussy into their facial expressions and we can't see them!!! It's incredibly frustrating. But it's the same thing with the camera work around s21-22; it's so shitty and difficult to watch (some episodes literally made me sick to my stomach) but there's a school of thought that says the jerky motions of the camera are intended to make the audience feel like they're walking alongside the characters. Again, it doesn't work, and I spent all of last season grateful that they'd moved on from that (I will never, ever forgive the shaky camera work in rotps we deserved better). So yeah I think it has to be intentional and I would love to have a chat with the person responsible for making those decisions lmao
Ok so I’m watching oc again along with the svu episodes that go along with it and maybe you would know the answer to this…
First, in rotps Olivia responds to a 10-13 (which when I looked it up was officer needs help).
Next, when fin calls her she seems like she knows something is up. Almost like she knows it’s stabler.
So my question is would she would have known it was him? Like does a badge number get called in? Or does she show up to a random 10-13? Just bc she was in the area.
Like irl idk if she would have recognized Kathy as quick as she did if it was a random 10-13 call. BUT IDK. was this ever addressed or do we know the background here?
So iirc they've said before that if any officer ever hears 10-13 they come. Even if, like Olivia was, they were just in the vicinity for non work reasons, they come. But you're right she sounded so shaken and she hedges when she talks to Fin. And she says Kathy's name when she sees her on the stretcher even tho it's dark and she hasn't seen Kathy in a decade and she doesn't have a clear line of sight to her face; I don't think she just randomly recognized her. They never address it but I like to think she heard the name Stabler over the radio, and her heart stopped.
I'm watching SVU reruns and today the first episode where Lewis shows up played again. And I was wondering, I really don't want to think of this scenario but do you think there is a chance that Elliot actually did found out at some point about what happened to Liv and still remained apart because of him feeling ashamed of failing to protect her? And if that would be the case could Liv actually forgive that? I don't want to believe so because it would completely destroy his character, but the showrunners have a record of dissing on Elliot's character and make him nasty. It was less evident since his return but they still treat him and want to show him as being this wreck, a troublemaker who could only bring Liv problems and there's the scene when she tells him about Simon's death and how he barely reacted which was so ooc. The only thing that gives me real hope that this is not the case is his reaction when Liv told him she believed he has ptsd, like It would be sick for Elliot to laugh at her face if he knew what she went through, but that scene was on OC. It's just that on SVU they kinda wrote themselves into an impossible situation and I'm not sure how they can handle it if they really handle it at all. Because no matter what we will have to suspend our desbelief as to how he wouldn't know even if he lived abroad his kids apparently stayed in NY, he rejoined the NYPD 4 years prior to ROTPS, it would be something that surely would have been brought up in reality. So my question really is would it be forgivable? I know Liv has a big heart but this would be beyond devastating because even if Elliot was not her partner anymore and it was not his job the bond they had between each other was so deep that you'd think he'd be there for her no matter what. Or the other possibility is that they don't go through this Lewis arch at all so they don't have to give explanations but that wouldn't be fair because they really have made that storyline reappear over and over and it was very important in Liv's own arch. Again I don't really think they would choose that Stabler knew about Lewis, maybe SVU showrunners would have before but now that OC has been much more upfront about Liv and El's relationship and that has worked really well with the viewers they wouldn't go that way and I think now there is more chance that the writers and showrunners from both shows can align somehow their storylines and find a jointed narrative that fits both shows. At least I hope that's the case. How do you think this specific storyline could be handled by them?
I cannot accept Elliot knowing and not coming lmao I just. If he knew he would have been wrecked and he'd have to come. But if somehow he knew and stayed away - maybe thought she wouldn't want him there, maybe thought he'd make things worse, maybe thought she hated him already and didn't want to see him - ooooof. Olivia wanted him there she wanted him to come for her and if she found out that all this time he knew, and said nothing? That might just break them fam. That's ugly.
Will the show address Lewis? I have no idea, at this point. I'd love to see it but idk if I trust them lmao that being said we have talked about this before so I'll direct you to this post about what I'd like to see if they do bring Lewis up.
