Oot Zelink? Canon in a story that is not mainly about them!?! It's more likely than you think!

In the 4th timeline, Oot Link and Zelda effectively play a role similar to Sonia and Rauru in TOTK, creating a reformed Hyrule that becomes the world that ROTP Link and Zelda are born into.

The King and Queen of the Past Three years after the events of Ocarina of Time, Queen Zelda was living in a timeline without Link, the Hero of Time whom she had sent back to his childhood to regain his lost years. She had to rebuild Hyrule and ended up marrying Prince Ferdinand of Hytopia for political reasons, which led to the birth of a child. Yet visions of the future, not too different from the ones she had when she was young, foretold the doom of Hyrule and the return of Ganon with no hero to save the day. The more time passed, the more severe these visions became. Filled with regret and fear, Queen Zelda ended up taking action in a drastic and perhaps not thought-out way. She played the Ocarina of time and manipulated time once more, sending herself back in time to the point of Ganon’s defeat. The fate of the Hero of Time and Hyrule was in her hands. As hard as the decision was to make, she ultimately gave him the choice. Relive his childhood and prevent all that happened in the first place, or stay in a Hyrule that was in ruins. The Hero of Time chose to stay. A decision that would change the outcome of Hyrule’s fate, but  with a twist, as Zelda had simply created another timeline. The child timeline was already made and the adult timeline would continue existing without her, but with her already born descendant. If she was aware of the fact, that her bloodline would still have to face the downfall of a Hyrule without a hero? Now in a new timeline, Zelda tried her best to help Link be comfortable in this situation. She gave him all the resources and time he needed to mentally grow and adjust to his body, while he helped rebuild the Kingdom. But once that was done, he asked for her hand. She accepted and the Hero of Time became the new King of Hyrule, to reign alongside his Queen Zelda. Together they worked hard to create a Hyrule in their vision. A stronghold against evil. The best Hyrule possible. Yet as the years passed, the possibility of Ganon’s return not happening in their lifetime became more and more clear. Thus Queen Zelda and King Link made sure to leave enough of their knowledge for the future generations, hoping that a new Hero and a new princess would rise to fight Ganon when the time came. Another dream-like vision gave the royal couple even more hope that this would happen. Indeed Ganon did not return during their lifetime and Link and Zelda were able to live out their days in peace, even if with a bit of a lasting fear for the future. Said fear led to them creating a place in limbo, between life and afterlife, where they could assist their successors from beyond the grave. Their efforts led to them being remembered well into the future, still being spoken of as the King and Queen of the past, despite having many monarchs coming after them. And so, when many generations later the return of Ganon was imminent, a new hero named Link and a new Princess Zelda were born to face him. That was the time for the King and the Queen of the Past to awaken their spirits and aid their successors. Although both lived to a proud old age, they chose to take a younger spiritual form that represented a happy time in their lives: Their honeymoon.

My brain thinks it's funny...

As I have maybe stated before, TLFYL is being written in no particular order and I tend to jump from book to book and back again. This means I'll be writing a scene for Book 1 and then need to switch to Book 5 for a detail I want to add, before jumping to Book 2 to glare it into submission, and then jumping back to Book 1 to finish the scene and get stuck.

That said.

My brain thinks it's funny because working Book 5, it had the bright idea, "Write it like the characters are in an anime and Umbridge is the only one that is questioning what the hell is going on."

And while it is a medium-to-large funny thought, I cannot abide by this. I already have TLFYL regular to get through and then get my ass back to Bound To Psychics.

Hi! I just wanted to ask- about Indie TMNT, where is Spike? Or Chompy Picasso? (please tell me they exist 🥺. I can't imagine a world where Raph is without his emotional support pet/son Spike/Chompy...)

Ahem. Anywizzle, your art and concepts(? I think that's the word) and ideas are AMAZING! They're so absolutely magnificent! I'm in love with ROTP. (It's one of the few TMNT crossover that don't make me want to scream) The plot is wonderful, the drawing is *chef's kiss*, and I love how you wrote the dynamics between the characters! I can't wait for The Mutation Situation and Indie TMNT.

You are very inspiring and very skilled. I love your drawing style and I'm captivated by your comic.

HOW can people hate Kathy or think any of this is her fault?? I mean I know how but. My docs folder from right after rotps is overflowing with unfinished and barely started character pieces about kathy and the series of little tragedies that led up to her life ending in that one big tragedy (and also a few stabler kid pieces too like Mo looking at Eli and feeling all the ways the two of them are the same for all the ways they're different, the baby that got their mother into her marriage and the one that got her into it again etc. No shippy wips whatsoever just stabler family tragedies lol)

sorry I know I'm a little late since it's been a few days since the Kathy discussion but stabler family tragedies is so compelling to me actually. and I love the concept of the "series of little tragedies that led up to her life ending in that one big tragedy" bc that's it, isn't it? Kathy is, ultimately, a tragic figure. she is never the arbiter of her own fate; the one time she tries to intervene and take control for herself, when she leaves Elliot, he continues to try to pursue her even after signing the papers and yes she's the one who asks him to stay but he's the one who turned up there in the first place, and can we blame her for being lonesome? For wanting the only thing she's ever known? and then she ends up pregnant again, like she can't act on her desires without getting screwed. she isn't happy, when she asks Elliot to come home, she isn't saying we can finally save our marriage; she is terrified and doing something she doesn't even particularly look like she wants to do.

and oh, fuck, the kids, and maureen in particular. the maureen + Eli callout is haunting thanks for that I'm gonna be thinking about that for a while. but also, maureen the only one married with babies; is there any part of maureen that wonders if she's just living her mother's life, the way Elliot lived his father's?

Haven’t paid attention to anything beyond some stray concept art; I’m not the biggest fan of the dystopia setting of RotP, and sci-fi in general. But if you think it���s worth checking out, I will. ^^

Since TLOZ: Remnants of the Past is set in a world built by Oot Zelink in the 4th timeline, I wanna write a prequel that is published alongside ROTP. Why? Because despite both being deeply intertwined, we only find out bits and pieces of what oot zelink did to prepare the world for ROTP Link and Zelda. It's the same way how we see memories in BOTW/TOTK and that doesn't tell the full story.

The prequel would be writing only, at most maybe have some sketches like my Sonia Rauru story (but probably even less sketches) which makes it a lot less work heavy.

ROTP is more like a readable Zelda game (with some extra themes not focused on much in games, like trauma, romance and other things)

The Prequel would be more romance based. It's the story of how oot Zelink cope with their past, rebuilt Hyrule and become one, but also how they prepare the world for their future. But both went through a lot, so their path is not easy. People think a timeline where Link was not sent back means its easy mode for oot Zelink to blossom instantly, but nope, there is more to me.

These two are official supporting characters for The Legend of Zelda: Remnants of the Past!

Indeed their story becomes a 'sidequest' within the greater adventure of the hero of hope.

Meet Evan and Gabriel (Zelda OCs)

These two are supporting characters of my original Zelda story, but stand quite well on their own. They also happen to be my first official OCs! Story below.

Story information:

Evan is a lower ranking Hylian Guard who trained under the celebrated General Gabriel. As Evan was a bit of a brat and too over-confident for his good, Gabriel had to be stricter with him and give him more attention. But somehow... this attention turned into more. They became lovers. A tricky relationship, as Gabriel had to juggle between being a passionate lover and yet also a strict mentor. It caused several arguments, but none that they couldn't recover from. But then duty ended up separating them as Evan was stationed as a guard in Kakariko, where as Gabriel remained at his prestigious post in Hyrule Castle. A painful separation, that made it unclear if they could ever continue being lovers... That was until a young hero dressed in green came by. Perhaps he could help these brokenhearted souls find back to each other.

Also I tried a bunch of new techniques with this artwork! Took so long to make. The damn chainmail was killing me! Anyway, hope you enjoy my two gay Hylian army guys. Their story is basically a 'sidequest' within the greater story.

Are you going to add more 2012 characters? Like Karai or Shinigami or Mona or Chompy or Renet.

Or some of the Rise characters? Like Big Mama or Draxum or RepoMantis.

Also, are you going to add original characters, like your own Usagi or your own Mona.

This is a good question! (I don’t mind long questions ^v^)

For the 2012 characters, I don’t think I’ll put them in since I think I have enough characters to deal with already 😅 lol. However Mona and Chompy, in some of the earlier drafts of ROTP, were supposed to show up on a phone call.

This is the concept art for her designs plus Chompy being adorable!

As for the Rise characters, Draxum actually does show up in Colliding Worlds (chapter 5, part 2), that’s how Raph and Mikey get mystic weapons that help enhance their ninpo/mystic-magic-mojo or whatever.

And on original characters, I really try not to diverge from the canon since I want ROTP to be more of a fan sequel than a fan fiction, if you know what I mean. I do have original characters, but I wouldn’t add them to the ROTP story.

What is the mutation situation, and if it’s a fic/comic, where can I read it?

The Mutation Situation is a soon coming tmnt 2012 fan fiction comic. After Rise of the Parallel finishes, I’ll begin posting the story in the same format as ROTP. I have been posting some concept art and shorts to help hype the comic, but it’s not an official thing yet. You can ask questions about if you’re interested, and you can read the synopsis here!

In my own Zelda project you will see Zelda in different outfits, but this one is likely to be one of them.

Her look is heavily four Swords inspired, as it is one of my favorite Zelda designs. But as ROTP is set not too long after OOT (but on a 4th timeline split), I wanted her to also still look quite similar to her ancestor, the princess of destiny. She might even have a little bit of hero of time in her, seeing as she is also his descendant.

Although the Hero of Hope is not related by blood to the Hero of Time, they still share a very special bond across time. ROTP is set generations after OOT on a 4th timeline split, so them meeting might seem impossible. But is it really?

ROTP's story plays out across some years. The Zelda design shown previously was a young teen. This version is her when she's a bit older.

I got inspired by Edwardian Titanic-Era Evening Gowns (Ones you'd see at fancy dinner parties). She still wears some accessories from her younger self, mainly the pearl accessories, which she got from her mother.
