Im so torn

On one hand i love the idea of Lilac and Rosswell having a little cat they raised together, on the other, i feel like it'd perhaps just be because i like cats that I added it in and not because it really belonged. i guess I could add it as a 'side story' where its cannon but not really shown in the main book. where's the cat during the book? irrelevant but it definitely totaly exists. yeah maybe ill do that~ its a sad thing but then again then I could dedicate an entire side story to just them having a cat together and what goes on with the little creature and how they got it and the like. that's what side stories are for! exploring the things that you didn't get to explore in the main book but still want to enjoy! yes...side story kitten. if anyone has complaints, hear me out , writing is hard and this way you don't have to be mad i shoehorned in a cat without it making sense, but also, you get to see a kitten! its a win win. we all win! if you don't like it, please be nice, i will cry. ill cry and cry and cry and it'll be so sad and pitiful, you don't want me to be sad and pitiful right? you don't wanna be mean to a poor little author just because she wanted her little guys to have a cat would you? surely not- you agree right? who's gonna complain about a little bonus cat content? They say to kill your darlings but why should I do that when I could write BONUS cat. I should really be editing right now, not writing fanfiction of my own book- but in my defense cats.

helloooo. question regarding TAMN (so implied minor spoilers) — I do believe you mentioned at some point in some author's notes that you keep track of the journey grian and scar undertake throughout the fic? or maybe I made that up but I'm pretty sure that was mentioned.. and maybe, just maybe, if my memory serves me right, maybe chapter 8 with the gun range.

regardless, on the off chance it's real, once the fic is done, would it be possible for you guys to post the map of their route so we can trace it back and appreciate the journey? how far they drove in Ariana, how much by foot, by bike, the encounters they had and how much of a distance spent with them, etc.

I just think it would be a fun visualisation of their journey to wrap it all up at the end :] from what I've gathered from my reread (hi I'm that person), they started out in San Antonio? it wasn't explicitly mentioned but mentioned as a comparison so I assume that's where they started out, and since that's not far from Rosswell, I think a fair assumption. then the rest, well we'll see where they end up.

You're right! We have been keeping track of their progress, with the entire route mapped out in detail (every place they've been to and stop they've made is a real place), and once the fic is over we definitely plan on sharing it!

Key did a great job with the route of the fic-- figuring out how far they could realistically travel by car/vespa/on foot, places they could safely stop at and where to avoid etc. I can't wait to show it off!

(Also, your deduction was spot-on! They are from the San Antonio area! You nailed it!!)

YESSS WE'VE BEEN PLANNING ON SHARING THEIR ROUTE AT THE END! :D Though, it bears mentioning that, quite a few times, we used the IRL locations to inform our setting more than like... outright copy it.

What that means is, while some things are just 1:1 the exact place irl (for example, Disneyland LMAO) others are just the general Vibes™ that carry over and that we embellish for the hell of it to make things interesting. Creative liberties and all that ;)

Like Lock said, they DID start in San Antonio! :D Good catch! I think, thus far in the fic, it's only implied at some point during the wheelchair search, but iirc, there's a chapter coming up where it will be stated explicitly :3

Just because the author or director intended them to be a crappy piece of garbage---who never faces the proper repercussions for manipulating, for murdering innocents, for controlling, for blackmailing, for anything else they do to the fellow characters(doesn't even make up for it if they go back to being good)---doesn't mean they aren't still totally a piece of garbage
