ok so ive been really stressing out about school because ive been doing really well in all my classes but have been having difficulty with just one. this is the first class this professor has taught in 18 years, and he teaches with IMPOSSIBLE standards (grades based ONLY on tests, teaches only from lecture/no book, is very broad/unstructured/has sooo much information and expects us all to completely memorize everything) and i came home crying today because i was so stressed out. then i took a long shower and realized something.

i don't care if i fail this class. as long as i try my best, put forth as much effort as i can, and learn a lot, failing this class wouldn't be a reflection of who i am as a student. it's a reflection of who he is as a teacher. the only thing i have control over in this situation is myself and how i deal with this situation. i was contemplating dropping the class, but that would mean i gave up. id rather try my best and get a bad grade than give up and not try at all.

Empath Cody Burns

So, I recently finished binging all four seasons of Transformers Rescue Bots. My brain decided that it was going to have fun and make up an alternate universe where Cody is a very strong empath and a minor telepath. He knows that he’s an empath, but the telepathy is something that he’s not really aware of until later. It does kind of fit with his personality though? Like-

- Cody immediately knowing that something is up with the supposed “robots” because he’s pretty sure that those weird feelings he’s getting are some kind of emotions. - Cody being the only one in the Burns family that can 100% tell what Chase is feeling. - Nobody knows that Cody has these skills, but he’s just always there for you when you’re upset or stressed or angry. He’s sometimes more of a family counselor than a younger sibling. - Cody has to slowly interpret the more precise feelings that the bots have. Anger, sadness, happiness, and other ‘base’ emotions are easy enough for Cody to understand even though they ‘feel’ a bit alien. More complex emotions take time for him to recognize, interpret, and understand. - Cody being able to know exactly when Kade does something to make Heatwave mad even when they’re halfway across the island. - Cody not being able to 'turn off’ his abilities and occasionally just having to find a nice spot away from civilization or spending time around and focusing exclusively on a calm, emotionally steady person. - Cody being able to manipulate emotions, but only doing so if a person is going to harm others or themselves. His telepathy can sometimes come into play with this too, but he has to have physical contact to initiate a link. - Cody just knowing that Dr. Morocco is evil, feeling the sheer darkness just oozing off of him and being so frustrated that he won’t be taken seriously. Cody going off to find that actual proof because he needs actual physical evidence to get the man in legal trouble. - Cody being able to sense the bots’ EM Fields. - During some adventure or another, Cody accidentally discovering his telepathy goes further than he thought it could when he telepathically links to one of the bots’ minds during one of the worse emergencies they’ve gone through. - Cody just being able to have any sort of telepathic conversation with the Rescue Bots, even if it does give him a headache until he gets somewhat used to how their processors work. - Cody’s family and the Greene’s finding out and having a moment of enlightement because everything makes so much more sense now. - Just- empath/telepath Cody Burns is my new favorite AU for Transformers Rescue Bots.
