Day 17! TMF AU’s!

These are some pretty standard AU’s I came up with. (Like VERY basic. Everyone probably has their own version of these.) I would write these but unfortunately I already have three other writing projects on my hands and I really don’t know how I’d balance a fourth. (Also, in case you haven’t guessed it yet: they’re all pretty heavily Drake-coded lmao.)

💙Royal Knight AU: A classic I’ve seen many times before! Nothing like taking your favorite blorbos and forcing them back in time to the age of castles and monarchies! Anyways, in my version, Drew’s a prince and Jake’s his personal knight. (Clever, I know.)

Jake was practically raised to be a knight, just like his parents were. But Jake wants to find his own purpose; something that doesn’t bind him to being Drew’s shadow.

He starts sneaking out at night, and realizes the massive wealth-gap between the nobles and common-people. While on his adventures, he runs into a group of bards who perform at night to inspire hope in the townspeople. (The Music Club!)

Under the disguise of a simple commoner, Jake decides to talk to them. He gets to know them, and eventually, the leader of the group: Hailey, invites him to join their group. Each night, Jake gets to perform with them, finally feeling like he’s found his purpose.

(Oh, and him and Hailey obviously start developing feelings for one another.)

Meanwhile, Drew is stressed. He’s being forced to marry Lady Zoey, who makes it abundantly clear she has no interest in him whatsoever and is only in this for the wealth and status. And after the wedding, Drew will be crowned king. And he is not at all ready for any of this. He’s always turned to Jake for comfort, but he slowly starts realizing that Jake is hiding something. Jake’s increasingly exhausted, and almost always distracted. He barely talks to him anymore.

Perhaps there could be a scene where Drew follows Jake? He realizes what he’s been doing, and I’d imagine quite a bit of angst would ensue.

Oh, and one more note: remember the wealth gap? I could totally imagine the Music Club is actually part of a secret rebellion against the royal family. And perhaps they’re coming up with a plan to overthrow the royal family.

Now, scenario: masquerade ball. Hailey’s sent to sneak inside the palace during the festivities and see what she can learn about the royal family. Perhaps steal some riches for the Music Club to sell. She successfully enters the palace, but ends up running into Jake. The two recognize each other almost immediately, and end up dancing together to keep up appearances, all while whispering hushed questions about why the other’s there. Meanwhile, Drew notices this, and is practically seething with jealousy.

I don’t really know where the plot of this would go, but surprisingly for me, I feel like endgame ship would be Jailey.

💛Idol AU: Another classic! Jake’s a pop idol, and Drew’s his bodyguard. (Practically a reverse of the first AU.) They’re obviously very much in love, but they have to keep it secret due to Jake’s contract. And they kiss backstage in storage closets sometimes.

I don’t have much for this AU compared to the last one, but I’ve always imagined Jake being kidnapped and Drew having to rescue him. I think that’d be pretty fun. Maybe they have to go off-the-grid for a while, and they’re actually able to have their little relationship for a period.

I just want to see Drew and Jake kiss honestly. Drew needs to be kissed very softly on the head.

🖤Ghost AU: Last one! I actually brainstormed this with @ratkingnezu awhile back. Essentially, after the events of Episode 11. Drew dies. (Doesn’t really matter how he does, he just needs to be gone.) But because of his lingering regrets, he isn’t able to leave the mortal world just yet. So he’s stuck as a ghost, and he’s unable to leave Rosemeadow. Meanwhile, Jake is deeply affected by this. He regrets never being able to explain things properly to Drew and perhaps make peace with him, so he spirals. Grief practically consumes him, so Drew decides to make it worse and start haunting him. (Well, he’s not trying to make it worse. He just has nothing better to do with his time other than haunt Jake.) He realizes how much Jake actually cared about him. And he only regrets how their last interaction (the fight) played out. And sometimes he’ll just lay with Jake and cry with him wishing he could talk to him one last time.

And Jake starts hearing Drew’s voice whispering to him. Starts seeing things move. Starts seeing him in reflections. And he starts thinking he’s losing his mind.

The only way Drew can finally pass on is by somehow making peace with Jake. I don’t know how he’ll do that, but I’m sure I’ll figure something out. At some point.

So yeah! Those are my super simple AU’s!

Well, actually, I do have one more, but I’ll save that for its own post sometime in the future. (Wink wink.)

Hello guys, I uh. I've been on a journey, as many of you might have come to know.. and I'm in a bit of a ruffle.

I can't really get into it, or It will come for me. it's far too dangerous...

I will try to record a diary, and hopefully send it to all of rosemeadow.

I will find him. I will find Sean..

Rosemeadow must be in an extremely expensive area if they have someone as rich as Drew's family going there. Especially if his family owns a movie theatre, even if it's just an in home one. Those are really expensive. And did you see Drew's room????? That's fucking massive. And I live in a relatively expensive area

It has suburban areas because all the homes shown are large and very separated. Also Zander and Hailey's home has a dedicated music room, which I think is odd because in most larger houses I've been in, there hasn't been a room large enough that would match the dimensions of the one Zander and Hailey have. There are the implications of apartments due to the tall buildings, at least one of those has to be an apartment building. I'm not counting townhouses here because they haven't been shown at all.

There definitely are poorer parts of town due to that generally being how cities and towns work. Some parts are more expensive, and other parts are cheaper. The fact there is a bridge in the background of one of the scenes does imply that the area is much larger than the areas we already know about.

Rosemeadow high school is probably in the more expensive area due to 1. It's multiple floors 2. it looks like there's enough funding for the classes and clubs we do see, art has good easels (rare sighting), Music club can afford everything. Gardening club has a greenhouse 3. there is a greenhouse???? Not even in my area (which is extremely expensive to live in) has a high school that has a greenhouse 3. Fullsize locker (it's usually two lockers stacked on top).

I would like to mention that because it's in the same city, it would definitely be likely that there are poorer students at Rosemeadow. But it's also just as likely that they go to a cheaper school, since you'd also have to factor in the cost of transportation.

Btw this is from the knowledge of a teenager who lives in an area very similar to the area TMF takes place in that is very expensive to live in without a high paying job. And by very similar, I mean that a couple of places remind me of places I've been to in my county alone.

ok so :3

jake is spider-man! he’s been spider-man for,, a few months prior to tmf canon? (no special names or anything . he’s literally just spider-man. i call him spider-jake occasionally)

zander doesn’t take any specific love interest role from spidey canon because fuck canon (miguel hates this dimension) (mainly saying this part because i know Nothing about spider-man other than stuff in the spider-verse films sorry i know i’m one of those people)

jake is crushing BIG TIME on zander and he tries to impress him both as jake and spider-man. unfortunately zan is indifferent to the latter (and he doesn’t know his identity) so whenever spider-jake notices that zan’s in the crowd he tries to pull a lot more stunts to make him like spider-man HAHAGSHJDSHJ

(zan Does like jake though! he thinks it’s a little weird that jake keeps talking about spider-man but like. zan will still listen. because it’s jake :3c)

the spider-jake storyline was originally gonna be after or completely separate from tmf canon but i figured it has potential when combined with the canon conflict leading up to the finale :3

well the au follows tmf canon minus the lander storyline oops. (but like.. janduke is also a possibility… so…..)

speaking of the storyline! i have no storyline. /j i do have?? some ideas??

i don’t know the specific circumstances for any of this but generally:

tmf canon (jake joining the club, getting kicked out… yeah he already has a lot to manage on top of being spider-man.. i’m so sorry jake ilysm)

some time around whatever’s supposed to happen in the last part of the finale, there’s trouble in rosemeadow and zan gets roped into it somehow (bonus: it’s because of spider-jake)

and spider-jake saves him from said trouble!!! zan gets to really see and hear spider-man (jake slips up a little, forgetting to lower his voice and almost calling zan by name)

they get a bit of time to breathe after the rescue where spider-man gets all emotional and apologizes ,,, in such a heartfelt way ,,,, (but he masks the apology as being for getting zan into all this trouble)

zan’s a little (read: EXTREMELY) confused by this but oh no! there’s still trouble! and spider-man swings away

spider-man saves the day once again, yk, just spidey things

zander manages to catch spider-man to say thanks :,] (jake almost slips up again but overall it’s a weirdly sweet moment)

that night zander thinks about what happened and he realizes—oh shit that’s jake

something something eventual jake redemption and jander getting together yippee happy pride month ?!
