✨️ Out of the comments you’ve received on your fics, what are two or three of your favorites?

This is a tough one to answer because I have a lot of writing out there and, hence, a lot of comments. But back when I was writing Delaying the Inevitable, the comments were often mindblowing in both good and bad ways, but mostly good! lol Dori is not here anymore, but her comments used to move me to tears. @rosebudde isn't really here (though not deactivated, lol), and they were wonderful as well. I hope they know just how much they've meant to me. Also, @secretaryunpaid's insightful, thought-provoking comments (and her incredible GIFS) always make me squeal! lol I've also gotten some comments, usually in DM, that are the most precious to me... like someone told me they read my fics while going through chemo, and it cheered them up. Another told me a fic I wrote gave them the courage to leave an unhealthy relationship, and others have said that my writing lifts them when they're depressed. Those are like gifts, because if our writing can do something to make another person's life better in any way... man, there is nothing better than that.

🥳 Why did you start writing fanfic?

LORD. lol If you had told me three years ago that I would be writing fanfic, I would have looked at you a little funny. lol I decided to write an alternate ending to Open Heart because Pixelberry (as usual) fucked things all up. I didn't think I'd write anything more. Then, while talking to @icecoffee90 (in another world, I didn't even have a Tumblr at the time), I explained an idea I had for an Ethan x Casey x Tobias triangle, and she said, "Please tell me you're writing this." It turned into a 35-chapter fic. lol After that, I was bitten by the bug... and I'm still here for now. lol

💕 What is your favorite fic that you’ve written?

God, that's such a hard question. But I'm going to try...

Overall, I'd have to say it was the DTI Series, even though I would like to go back and make some changes.

I've also always loved Friends*, a playful, angsty & smutty friends-to-lovers AU I did for Tobias & Casey.

I liked A Family Affair, where Casey tells Tobias's snooty family that she's bisexual. That one was close to home for me.

I like ripping people's hearts out... so Forever (Ethan x Kaycee), Unforgettable (Tobias x Casey), What's Forever For (Tobias x Casey), and A Moment in Time (Trystan x Carolina AU) are good fo that! lol

But, honestly, I think one of the things I'm most proud of is my Eli Sipes "prequel" A Mother's Journal, Coming up Blank, and The End of the World are amongst the things I'm most proud of - and they definitely qualify as tearjerkers, too. lol

For lighter fare, Just Until Midnight (Ethan x Kaycee) would be up there. The how baby Samantha Carrick came to be stories, The Perfect Gift and For Keeps. UHM. You said ONE, right. So sorry... lol :) It's like picking your favorite child! lol Thanks so much for asking and I'll shut up now! lol

Personality:

Tough Cookie: Goofy, reliable, fashion-forward (they even hoof-stitched their signature bow tie), nerdy (their favorite past time is playing a little “O-and-O” with their siblings), and a great conversationalist.

Kindred Spirit: Affectionate, ditzy, generous, always willing to lend a helping hoof (even if it’s just a few simple words of encouragement), and a phenomenal gift-giver (or, in most cases, gift-baker).

Olive Branch: Encouraging, empathetic, transparent, can easily adapt her teaching/speaking style to accompany or avoid a client’s interests and triggers, and a great listener.

Flaws:

Tough Cookie: Childish, confrontational, frivolous, raunchy (their bio quote is probably the most PG joke they’ve got), and has difficulty knowing when to take life seriously.

Kindred Spirit: Naive, disorganized, parasocial (has developed a bit of an obsession with her idol, Jinx Lulamoon), highly sensitive to rejection, and overly-apologetic (she needs to learn that baking someone an entire batch of cookies just for accidentally stepping on their hoof isn’t necessary).

Olive Branch: Compulsive, very soft-spoken (to the point where she can be pretty difficult to understand at times), a major workaholic, allergic to pretty much everything, and struggles with being both an emotionally and logically driven pony.

Summary: Bryce notices somethings not quite right with Becca and makes it his mission to help bring her back to life.

As the days passed by Bryce Lahela kept a concerned and watchful eye. Becca was thankful and let herself accept his company and comfort. She slowly started becoming who she once was - though her physical features still carried miles of weight.

Bryce’s guardianship scaled to making sure she was okay getting home after pulling longer shifts to keep the pain at bay. Becca silently has acknowledged the irony of distracting herself with work, being at the hospital. The hospital where they met. Worked together. Spent all their time blossoming together. It should be the place where she felt the most pain, but it’s also the place she feels most at peace.

“What’re you still doing here?” Bryce said from just a few paces behind her in the locker room. 

“Was helping out in the ER,” she said, closing up and locking the lock. “Did you just get out of surgery?”

He nodded and motioned with his hand for Becca to lead the way out. 

“I’ve been on 5 today - two with Emery. I am truly blessed.”

“Blessed and highly favored,” she smirked as they exited the hospital. 

Bryce turned to her, his wide smile and goading eyebrow just slightly masking his insecurities. “You think?” 

“No denying you’re the best surgical resident. Dr. Emery definitely knows it,” she turns towards him with another smirk, “but is smart enough to not stroke your ego.”

“I don’t know what you’re on about, Becks.” One of Bryce’s hands folds over his heart, “I am the picture of modesty.”

“Yeah, oil painted and above the mantle.” 

He was going to say more as he walked her past the subway station and halfway down the residential road that leads to her street, but Becca stopped in her tracks. 

 “Uh, B,” she points back behind them to the subway station entrance “you live that way.” 

“I know. I’m walking you home.”

“You don’t have to.”

“I want to.” He curled his arm around hers and tugged them back on their merry way. 

Becca refused to move. “Bryce, you just got out of back-to-back surgeries. Go home.” 

Their eyes met. 

“I can survive another thirty minutes.” 

She stopped arguing.

They walked back arm-in-arm in relative silence. 

“You okay, Becks?” he asks softly. 

“Yeah… just tired.” She took a deep breath, considering. “Trying to pull my weight after the hearing is rough.”

“And working yourself to death is pulling your weight?”

“I just… I don’t want my reputation to be as a patient killer. I want to be known for my good work and winning that spot on the diagnostics team fair and square. If I have to work 18 hour shifts every day of the next few months, so be it.”

“You need to take time for yourself too.” 

Becca stepped up to her apartment door with tight lips.

“Right back at ya,” she challenged with a half shrug.  

He reluctantly watched as she let herself into the building.

Summary: Sienna tries to have a serious conversation with Becca before her first date with Bryce.

It didn’t take long before she started spending more time with Bryce outside the comforts of his apartment walls. They weren’t necessarily hiding their relationship, they just didn’t know what to call it. They were casual. They were friends. Friends who had intimate benefits. It wasn’t a secret, but also no one bothered to ask about their title. Bryce hated labels anyway, they didn’t fit with his go-with-the-flow demeanor. 

They’ve played footsies in the cafeteria, kissed for hours in the grass in the park, shared plates at Alessandro’s, and intertwined their hands at the coffee shops by the hospital. 

“You and Bryce are getting serious,” Sienna acknowledged from her place sprawled out on Becca’s bed as the latter got ready. 

“Don’t worry, Sie, it’s casual,” she tried to placate, paying more attention to the finer details of her make up than the serious conversation her best friend was trying to initiate. “We won’t break up the friend group.” 

“I’m not worried about that - well not that much. Its… are you okay?” 

“Peachy, why?” 

“You haven’t spent a night alone in weeks. Not since Dr. - He disappeared. I just... don’t want you to self combust.” Sienna was sitting up now, worrying the threads of Becca’s duvet between her fingertips.  

“And spending time with Bryce has made me a ticking time bomb?” 

“No. Distancing yourself from your friends and emotions is turning you into a bomb.” 

“Sienna, I’m fine.” Becca brushes off the concern, zipping up the back of a little black dress. “What do you think of this outfit?” 

“You look amazing like always.” 

“Not too slutty? I’m going for slightly sexy. Not too revealing but also not harlequin.” 

Sienna pointed to the closet poorly hiding a sad little smile, “Add your cape jacket and you’re good.” 

“Thanks. We’re trying this new upscale gastropub downtown, The Masquerade Nigh. It’s our first real date.” 

The smile on Becca’s face was just wide enough for Sienna to shelve her concerns for the time being. She smiled back, “You two spend all your time together, nothing to worry about.”

“I know, I know. I just want it to go well.” 

“How well?” Sienna wiggled her brows. 

“We’re not having sex yet.” 

“No?” 

“We’re taking things slow,” Becca then shrugs, “We sleep together but nothing biblical.”

Not too long later, Bryce is at her door with stars in his eyes.  

“Man if I’m not the luckiest guy alive.” His eyes never straying from her and his jaw all but on the floor. 

“You’ll do what?” 

“Becks, Becks, Becks. I am the luckiest man alive.” 

They had a lovely dinner together.
