i will always be obsessed with the thing that writers do where a character is adored like a god. when a person loves another person so much that they follow them, physically and mentally, like other people follow a religion. when they get overjoyed just for being acknowledged by the object of their adoration. specially when its to their detriment. when they know that it is unhealthy, and they are dooming themselves, but they just can't help it. pearl not questioning rose even after her death. kitay following rin to their destruction and being unable to stop her. nami saying that luffy will be king of the pirates even if it means her death. house giving up his career, his passion, to be with wilson in his last days.

Hi Tumblr Peeps😁 For those who have read the Head Cannon(?) fanfic with Shanks, Sanji, and Ace from One Piece and read a comment or so involving Luffy, I have decided to finally write something similar about Luffy as I did about Shanks, Sanji, and Ace, so I'm honestly up to working on that type of idea about Luffy🏴‍☠️😁👍
*Credits to @artzyfrog for the idea of Luffy and any other part of the fanfic ideas inside this fanfic✏️✍️📝👩‍💻
*This fanfic contains 1 or more long paragraphs😅
Tumblr media
🏴‍☠️Monkey D. Luffy's Reaction To His Female S/O Captain, (Female Reader) Being Betrayed By Someone Who Was One Of Her Crewmates🏴‍☠️(Monkey D. Luffy x Female Reader)
Genres: Angst To Comfort and Head Cannon(?) (Warning⚠️: Trigger Warning (Mentions Of Murder) and Language)
*After you (and your remaining crewmates who are still alive) found Luffy and the rest of the members of the Strawhats, when you were crying on his right shoulder, as one (or more) of your surviving crewmates explained about the traitor turning out one of your crewmates who you truly thought was your friend, as the unexpected traitor killing most of your crew and what the traitor said to you while setting your pirate ship on fire, before the traitor left the ship (thinking there would be no survivor), Luffy was beyond pissed. Luffy would scream, "Are you fucken kidding me?! This jerk betrayed (Female Reader Name) and the rest of you like that! She thought (traitor name) was her friend, then he turns around to pull this crap on all of you, like this and to never care about her nor anyone else except himself! I'm going to make him wish that he never...", before the rest of the Strawhats, your surviving crewmates, and you convinced Luffy not to go after the traitor, until after you and the rest of your crew are healed. Not just physically, however in a well-being sense in your case.
*You and your surviving crewmates went on "The Sunny" with Luffy and the rest of the Strawhats, Luffy (and your surviving crewmates) gave Tony Tony Chopper strict orders to take care of your wounds first. It's not just because you're the captain of your crew members who survived and it's not just, because your Luffy's s/o, however the main reason why these strict orders were given to Chopper, because you needed immediate emergency treatment due to you being the survivor who has tooken the worse damage and your well-being has also been hurting, as well. After Chopper has tooken cared of your wounds, Luffy would immediately take you to his room, so he can help you with your well-being.
*Despite of you being Luffy's s/o, he's going to be a little strict with you, however he's only being a little strict with you, because he cares about you, especially about your well-being, so he's going to give you a push, so you can have a self-care routine. At times when you feel down, he will be honest with you and give you reasons to on why it's not your fault you and the rest of your crew were betrayed, tell you that it's not you and it's the ex traitor crewmate, and will say things, such as ,"There's no need to beat yourself over what that asshole did to you... You have been there for (traitor name) whenever he needed you the most, as his captain, then he decides to blindside you and the rest of your crew, when he wanted to be done, when he got an opportunity, and to convince you to think very low about yourself... You and your crew didn't deserve to go through what he put you through...", before he would wrap his right arm around your shoulders, as he would say, "Everything will be okay (Female Reader Name)...", as he then would sometimes kiss you on your left side of your facial cheeks. Not that he would care what anyone would think of him, if anyone did see Luffy kiss, however he's just not usually affectionate, even though he will give you a little affection, like this, occasionally.
*Once all of the wounds of the surviving members of your crew (especially your wounds) more than completey healed up and your well-being is beyond good, as new (thanks to Tony Tony Chopper with the wounds healing and thanks to Luffy pertaining your well-being), no one would talk him out of beating up the ex crewmate who betrayed the rest of your crew, since he only agreed to not go after (traitor name), until you and the rest of your crew were healed. After you and your who crew were tooken cared of the news pertaining (traitor name) has been spreading around, especially to the point the Marines are after him, just as well as other pirate crews are. Both you and Luffy would, then agree that this would be the perfect opportunity to hunt (traitor name) down, when you and Luffy see him in that possible location, considering that Luffy still wants to take his frustrations out on (traitor name), due to loosing his bananas over hearing about what the ex crew member did to you and the rest of your crew.
🏴‍☠️The End🏴‍☠️
I hope you had fun reading the fanfic my Tumblr Peeps😁👍As for you artzyfrog, I hope you enjoyed this Luffy fanfic, as well😃👍I will admit it did took me a while to start on the fanfic(😅), however I decided today would definitely be the day I complete this Luffy fanfic😁👍Honestly, I have been wanting to write about Luffy for a while, however I'm glad you've given me the idea, pertaining writing about Luffy, as the starring character for the 1st time ever, so it was nice to write about him and thank you for the ideas for a Luffy fanfic🏴‍☠️😃👍

you have no idea how much this made my day.
Sanji in the bi au is out, no one knows only because no one asks and he has a very obvious preference for women. So the first time Ace come on board and starts flirting with the cook, everyone is flabbergasted that Sanji so openly flirts back.
Luffy is used to having people come onto his brother so he's unbothered by it all. But Zoro is so taken aback he approaches him with it.
Zoro: So what, now you're into men?
Sanji: Have been for a while but he's the only one man on this ship who flirts like a normal human being.
Zoro absolutely speechless: ...
Sanji: If you're done here I have dishes to wash. Go bother someone else
The next few days Zoro just stares at Ace like his life depended on it. On one hand to study him what he's doing that Zoro can't, on the other because how dare he??? Luffy catches him while he's watching Sanji and Ace interacting.
Luffy: What are you doing?
Zoro: Observing...
Luffy: Nami said you're jealous. But if you also want goodnight kisses from Sanji you can just ask
Zoro even more taken aback: Also???
Luffy: Does he not kiss you goodnight?... hm, weird...
After a few weeks Zoro gathers up the courage to ask for a goodnight kiss.

Hands grabbing fistfuls of your ass, he held you completely locked against his face while his tongue greedily lapped at your glistening cunt. His head bobbed and weaved, shoulders bullying their way between your legs as you stood above his seated form on the cool floor. With one arm braced against the wall in front of you, the other attempted to push his head further into you.
“Ah, ah-!” he softly chastised you, withdrawing one of his hands from your ass and swatting your hand away from pawing at him. Laughing against your skin, he multitasked his motions by mouthing at your pussy while withdrawing his hat from his head and letting his hair shake free. Pulling away just enough to gaze cheekily into your eyes, he offered the hat out to you.
“If you wanna grab onto my hair so bad,” he thrust the hat into your hand before slowly inching his smile towards your pussy, “Better keep that warm for me and do it properly.” Before he dove back into greedily consuming your pleasure and coaxing your orgasm from you, his voice grew dark and possessive: his order coming out as a curt bark while his eyes darted between yours.
“Put it on.”
Your hands hurriedly placed the hat on your own head just as his lips and tongue slipped between each fold and carded from your slit to your clit. Lazily lulling his tongue from his lips, he clawed at your ass with his blunt fingernails to physically grind you against his face.
Humming at the sensation of your walls fluttering around him, he drew his right forearm up to cage your hips in while his left hand traced down the contours of his abs towards his aching cock. Rocking your hips over his mouth while he pumped his cock had his breath fall from his lips in gruff whimpers.
He was a needy puppy, desperate to devour your ecstasy while playing with the edge of his own. As your slick messily dripped onto his face and your walls began to contract around his tongue, he chuckled against your body.
“That’s it, baby. Cum in my mouth,” he huskily growled up at you, throwing his head back into your hand, “Ride my face. Pull my hair harder. C’mon now, you can go way harder than that.” His eyes roll back when he feels your fingertips grind against his skull, gripping on tight and rolling your hips against his mouth. Your voice sounds like a sweet melody singing a song only for him.
That wave of possessiveness twinkles in his eyes as he sees your brow contort and scrunch as you hit that peak and crest over the cliff he’s throwing you from. Humming up at you, his voice vibrates his tongue as he fucks it into your fluttering walls. His fist lazily pumps his cock with his fist while you use him to ride down that high.
“There you go,” he praised you, softly cooing your name up at you while you whimpered from the aftershocks of your high, “Good job. So fuckin' sexy using me like that. Now-.” He hastily pushed you from his face and rose to his feet, his cock achingly hard as he quickly circled his body behind yours. He gave you little time to shake off the sensitivity of your orgasm before you felt his fat tip push its way into your slit down to the hilt. He heard you gasp at the hasty thrust, prompting a greedy smile to inch its way onto his face.
“My turn,” his voice rumbled with his hissed whisper as he withdrew his cock all the way to the tip before puncturing your body with its girth. Your head fell back onto his shoulder, his lips attached to your neck as he bites your muscle to anchor himself to the earth while he hastily chases a path to the heavens.
Hips slapping harshly in a rapid flurry, your pussy welcomes him with each cruel drag of his cock in your walls. Your prior release is so slick against his cock, he almost wants to cry. His head swirls as he feels himself draw nearer and nearer to his own edge.
“Fuck, you’re s-so fucking wet,” he muffled against your skin, flicking his tongue out to taste the sheen of sweat he’d been drawing out from you, “I’m close. I’m so fucking close.” As his eyes scrunch tightly shut, panting against your body while his hips become more staggered in their vicious clapping, “Where you want me to cum-...? Where can I-?”
Upon opening his eyes, your body was gone. The warmth from your skin, a distant memory as his cock desperately twitched beneath his heavy blankets. Hastily throwing back the sheets, his cockhead bobbed and shook as hot ropes of his release shot out all over his stomach, shaft, balls, and thighs.
“Nghh, shit-?!” he whimpered, eyes wide as he glared at his cock. He couldn’t help the little bucks of his hips up into the air while he rode through his untouched high. Soft gasps, choked groans, and muffled huffs of breath poured over his lips and shot quietly out into dark bedroom while he rouse fully from his rest.
Covered in his own mess, his prior expression of bliss fell into a low frown while he came to terms about what just occurred. He just came untouched, while dreaming elicit thoughts about you and him together.
“Damn it.”
Tumblr media
Ace
Fingertips caressed his scalp while the fire-first exhaled a jaunty laugh. He was appalled he had used your image as his own personal fantasy, his release still coating his skin in a glistening array of spend over his abdomen. Looking down at the sticky release, he let out a soft, audible groan as he attempted not to wake his comrades.
Quickly looking to the side, he notices a few members of Whitebeard’s crew still breathing heavily in the midst of their slumber. The slow inhale and exhale of their breath put Ace at ease while he articulated a plan to rid himself of his lustful display coating his skin. Reaching for a soiled shirt he neglected to wear for the day, his bashful smile remained drawn up over his features.
You were in his dreams, occupying his thoughts, and corrupting his slumber again. He was praising whichever of the old gods were listening that his slumber was corrupted beneath the security of his own cabin this time. Waking up with his seed painting his pants in public was not something he looked forward to on the regular. And regular visits within his falsified memory, you enacted with gusto.
Having met only a fistful of times in person, he was floored by how his dreams seemed to get a hold of him and run wild each time he closed his eyes. Seeing your image float beneath the shroud of darkness had him shaking his head and softening his laughter to soft waves of humor.
He was a man smitten by his younger brother’s crew member. The way your grin shot at him the first time you’d met held him hostage. Attempting to play it off, all he ever did was behave like a gentleman: his politeness and well articulated manners had you appreciate the softness of him all the sooner.
If you’d only known how desperately he needed you.
He wanted you so badly, his thoughts betrayed him on the regular. He would often wake to see the sticky remains of your spectral slumber-visitations the moment he awoke: your smile haunting him in a way his soul would sing for. He would yearn in silence, adoring you from afar while you kept his baby brother safe.
Although Luffy was a grown man, your captain no less, Ace still appreciated the way you would swarm to protect him at the most minor inconvenience. It was your loyalty that did him in. How much did you truly love his adoptive brother that you would follow him to whichever foe his stomach would lead him to face. He loved the way you would follow him, loved the way you would laugh jovially, and love-… love-…
He loved you.
Everything that was you, Ace held locked in his heart. Your smile, your eyes, your heart: all away in the softest corner of his beating organ swarming his chest with heated love. While his cock appreciated how attractive he found you, his heart held you in earnest. He loved you through and through. His deepest fantasies now only solidifying that fact.
He was deeply, hopelessly, and wholeheartedly in love with you.
Tossing his shirt aside, Ace cradled his head with his palms behind his neck. Humming with a whimsical smile painted on his features, he shut his eyes and softly whispered your name.
“I will see you again,” he confessed, forging a covenant within his heart and writing a quest on his soul, “I will open my heart and let you love me, if you’re willing. I want-... I need you to love me.” He uttered, rolling onto his side and cradling his chest with his arms.
“I need you to love me. Please.”
Holding his body closer, he gazed at his sleeping den-den-mushi, contemplating whether it was worth the disruption of your own sleep to confess his adoration towards you. He was a Whitebeard, you were a Straw-Hat. He was loyal to Edward Newgate, you were loyal to his younger brother. His infatuation was never meant to be: two pirates allied, but both ships anchored to differing ports.
Sighing out a heavy breath, he shook his head and clutched his freckled cheeks with the palm and four fingers of his right hand. Contemplative was the expression that homed itself on his face, picturing what a relationship could look like with you on an allied vessel. His thoughts of love would have to remain in his dreams: never wishing to burden you, or pull you away from your ties to where your allegiances found themselves.
He couldn’t do that to you.
Not you.
His brother’s crewmate deserved more than that. You deserved more than that. More than him.
Closing his eyes, he found solace in the way you would welcome him into your arms within the call of slumber. He was smitten, enjoying the dance you would perform for him as his entertainer within falsified memory. He loved you wholeheartedly, but would never dream to tear you from the ties you had forged with Luffy as your captain.
For now, he could only dream of you.
Tumblr media
Sabo
Hastily throwing his duvet off the rest of the way, he turned on his side and anchored his bodyweight against his elbow while he grasped at a cluster of tissues. Scrunching them tight, he drew them down to his body and began swiping at his skin. Several fragments of the white paper remained on his flesh while he attempted to clean up the carnage left behind from his dreams.
“Sabo, m’close,” he heard your spectral whine keen for him. He growled at the image, continuing to pat his sticky skin free from his release. He clicked his tongue as he came to terms with the fact that he was doing more harm than good with his tissues, hastily standing to his feet and briskly walking to his ensuit bathroom.
At the revolutionary base, he was blessed enough to have the privacy of his own quarters to bathe within. He doesn’t enjoy bathing at the most of times: his devil-fruit making him feel weak and pathetic as opposed to relaxed and tranquil.
He was feeling weak and pathetic now, even before his body met with the rapidly filling running water in the large bathtub.
You were a part of Luffy’s crew. A 'Straw-Hat’. He had only met you a handful of times, and you were always sweet with him. Your soft voice, cheeky grin, eyes that seemed to find his and twitch in glee. He loved the way they would sparkle, those domed orbs mirroring his streak of chaos and had him want to take you into his arms and carry you back to the base with him.
Stepping into the water, he sighed out at the warmth: attempting to scorch his thoughts from his mind with the tranquility within the still waves. He drew his hands down to his stomach and swiped at it, removing the glubs of paper and cum from his skin with the heels of each palm.
“Sabo, please. Please, Sabo. I need you,” he heard your voice echo in his mind and shift throughout his body. His lengthy digits had a mind of their own, grasping his half-hard shaft and beginning to pump at his submerged cock. His eyes scrunched themselves shut as he attempted to stifle the thought of you while his quickly re-stiffening cock fanned the flames.
“Flame emperor, please let me take your cock? Fill me up with it?” his hands quickened their reaction and his eyes flew open. That title, his title, falling from your illusionary lips and growing his desire for you more. Without much warning, Sabo hastily turned in the bath: water sloshing from the sides while he clasped the porcelain edge of the tub.
“You think this is funny, don’t you?” he growled in a low tone, his brow furrowing while he chased that image of you clutching the wall, “You want me to fuck you like an animal. Let me guess, breed you?” He could barely get the words out, falling hard into the fantasy he had crafted in his mind of your body.
His cock twitched violently, each vein throbbing while his shaft pulsed with desire. His breaths came out in choked pants and gruff huffs, quickly giving way to wanton moans that rolled into whines. His imagination ran with him, positions of you quickly changing to see you on your back with your legs pressed up into your chest. His eyes rolled back in his skull as he pictured the soft squeaks you would make while he viciously pounded your pussy with every in-thrust.
And then he switched again, removing himself completely from the equation. He wanted to watch you squirt. He wanted to have his gloved middle and unity fingers buried to the knuckle while your wrists were tied to your ankles. He wanted to watch you squirm around his hand, trying to escape the umpteenth orgasm he’d been ripping from your body.
He wanted to have your chin raised by his dragon-claw cane, while your lips were gagged with his other glove. He wanted to feel you squirt and fuck you through your orgasm with his hands; your clit caressed by the pad of his clothed thumb. He wanted to watch as you succumbed to the insanity he was pulling from your body with a keening scream of his name pouring from your lips-.
“-Fuck! I’m cumming-...! H-hah, sh-shit-!” he rode his hand, the water splashing in heavy waves over the edge while he released his spend into the bath water. He sobbed your name, whimpering as he sucked his lip into his mouth.
All he could see through his scrunched vision and darkened thoughts was the way you would grip onto him and trust him to claim you completely. To fill you with his cum, to watch as you slipped off that edge and tumbled into his awaiting arms. Rope after rope of his unraveling release spurted into the water as he rode his high. His blonde locks dance while dripping with water from the bath, his pants coming out as cries for you and you alone.
“Fuck-! Baby, please. I need you,” he whispered as he came down from his high, feeling dirtier  now than when he first stepped into the warmth of the bath water. His physical recoil from his release had him forlorn, his brow furrowing further as he rode through the afterwaves of his bliss.
“Shit, I do need you,” he confessed to himself. He hastily shook off his high and fled from the soiled waters: releasing the plug and watching it swirl through the drain. Taking a deep inhale through his nose, he exhaled his promise through his lips without breathing the words to light.
He will see you again.
He will confess his desires for you.
He will make you his.
Tumblr media
Luffy
Immediately jolting from his bed, his brows furrowed low as he slotted his legs into each leg-hole of his denim pants. Hoisting it up over his deflating cock, he narrowed his vision by deeply scowling.
Why were you in his thoughts? Why did you ask him to defile you like that? Why did you want him to hold you close and fuck you so viciously?
And why did he want to?
Tugging up his waistband, he shrugged on his red vest and began to briskly walk to where he knew you were aboard his ship. Designating you as his watch shift for tonight had you positioned within the crows nest and looking out over the horizon while the rest of the crew slumbered. Reaching the woven footfalls of the rope-ladder had Luffy immediately scurry up to confront you.
As soon as he hoisted his way up over the last barricade, his deep frown softened into a warm smile. Gently scrunching his nose, he hooked his heel into the last loop and pulled himself over the railing to slip quietly beside you.
Nestled warmly beneath your blankets, you stared at the rippling ocean and stood alert at each uncharted wave rippling in an unsoundly manner. Holding your gaze firm on the moon shining on the waves had you jolt upright the moment your captain unceremoniously plopped himself down beside you.
“Captain-!” you squealed in surprise, gently moving to a seated-fighting position by thrusting your hands up to your chest before the familiarity of your boss removed thoughts of violence from your mind. Your shock turned into glee at his presence by your side, a subtle shift that didn’t escape your captain’s notice.
“Didn’t mean to shock you,” he chuckled with a soft wink, moving his body closer to yours with a gentle pull. Softening his cheery smile, his eyes dragged over your face and marveled at the way you looked within the night air. “Hi.”
“Hi back, Captain,” you offered him with a slight giggle in your tone, “What brings you out tonight? Shouldn’t you be sleeping or raiding Sanji’s pantry?” He couldn’t help but laugh along with your playfulness, gently nudging his shoulder with your own before resting his cheek on your covered flesh.
“I actually came out to see you,” he admitted without remorse, defeat, or malicious intent, “I had a dream about you and wanted to make sure you were alright.”
You stiffened beneath the weight of his confession before shifting to make yourself comfortable with his head tucked safely within your shoulder. Glancing out from the corner of your eye, you notice the way Luffy’s eyes fluttered closed while he tucked himself into your embrace. He seemed out of sorts: his actions feeling far more clingy and desperate than his usual demeanor.
“Nightmares, Cap?” you asked him, gently opening the flap of the duvet and inviting him within your solace, “Some rough dreams on quiet waters?”
“Nah, nothin’ like that,” he offers, eagerly accepting your embrace by hooking his shoulders beneath your arms, “I was just thinkin’ about you, s’all. Like I said: wanted to make sure you were okay.” His arms eagerly found themselves coiling around your waist, tugging you into himself and nestling closer.
Gently chuckling at his motions, you shrouded his shoulders beneath the cloak of your heavy blankets, nestling him into your skin and holding you within your solidified embrace. Tucking his head beneath your cheek, you softly whispered against his temple.
“You just rest, Cap,” you spoke calmly and lovingly against his skin, cooing down at his nestled form within your arms, “I’ll be right here when you wake up, alright? Just sleep.” He nuzzled against your warmth, holding himself against you and scrunching his eyes tightly shut,
His lips moved, his words muffled and incoherent as his eyes fell half-lidded. His arms felt possessive around you, holding you firmly as if you would dissipate into smoke at the earliest convenience. You could’ve sworn his lips puckered and pressed against your skin, caressing you with his mouth in a sweet kiss as he drifted off into slumber. The softest whisper tumbling over his lips and going unmissed by your ears as you peered out to the open ocean.
“I’ll see you in my dreams,” he confessed lazily, his heart on his sleeve as he slowly slipped within the depths of calming slumber. His breathing tapered out as he focussed on the easy beat of your heart, prompting his own to beat within the same tempo.
As his breath grew heavy and laboured, you readjusted him to lie in a more comfortable position on his lap, slowly caressing the crown of his head by carding your fingers through his curled locks.
“Rest well, my captain,” you sighed down onto him, ignoring the way your heart skipped a beat at the possessive undertones your profession indicated. He was your captain, a captain you knew as yours and your only one. You would lay down your life for the opportunity to do him proud: winning battles, foraging for food, and hunting beasts for a moment of his attention. He was your captain, and you were his crew.
But the lingering emotions flooding your hearts with the warmth of infatuation had you both believe you could be more than just that. For now, contentment found you. Luffy’s breathing expanded out as his peace prompted you to guard him as you found your own. The night watch was uneventful: the giddiness of the morning to follow your captain’s sleep buzzed your senses and held you awake overnight.

you were sitting as you listened to nami complain about how the crew was running low on money because of luffy’s food needs. you thought about bringing up her clothing addiction, but since you wanted the ship to stay intact, you kept your mouth shut.
“and i always tell him that we have enough to last us in the kitchen, but he never listens! i swear next time he spends money on food without telling me i’ll-“, “nami!”, sanji called out, walking out the kitchen with a tray of drinks. he quickly made his way over to the table that the two of you were at.
“nami, take this. it’ll help you calm down. i know luffy can be stressful”, sanji smiled, handing nami the drink. “why thank you, sanji”, she smiled back, taking the drink from his hand. “hey! what did i do?!”, luffy shouted from the front of the boat where he was watching usopp fish. sanji simply didn’t answer, continuing to smile at nami as he pushed off luffy’s whining.
finally, he turned to you. “for you”, sanji quickly said, handing you your drink and walking off. your eyes narrowed at the short lived interaction. it seemed like he didn’t care about you as much as he did nami. maybe you were overthinking it. but what if you weren’t? had you done something wrong? did you offend him or something?
“y/n?”, nami called out, tapping your shoulder. you jumped at the sudden touch, snapping out of it. “are you okay?”, she asked, a small bit of concern on her face. “yeah, i’m fine. i’m gonna go to the bathroom”, you smiled, quickly dismissing yourself. before she could further question you, you were already gone.
you quickly shut the bathroom door behind you, letting out a sigh. looking up, you stared at your reflection in the mirror. walking closer, you began picking at parts of your face.
is there something wrong with me? sure, i’m not as pretty as nami or other girls, but am i that bad that someone like sanji would barely acknowledge me…? he flirts with every woman he can, yet he always ignores me… that says a lot, huh?
before you could even realize it, there were tears streaming down your face. insecurities were swallowing you whole, it was unbearable. you leaned against the door, sliding down it as you tucked your knees against your chest and laid your head on your knees.
“hey, who’s in there? i gotta use the bathroom”, zoro asked, banging on the door. you jumped at his sudden presence. “sorry, i’ll be out soon”, you replied back, your voice unexpectedly quivering. you didn’t hear a response for a moment, the silence making you a bit nervous. “i’ll just wait, it’s fine”, he replied. before you could respond, he walked away. you sighed as you rested your head against the door.
the day passed by quickly as everyone was seated eating the dinner sanji had prepared. “where’s y/n? nobody ever skips dinner”, sanji asked, holding an extra plate. everyone looked around, shrugging. “i haven’t seen her since this afternoon, she might’ve fell asleep early”, nami answered. sanji rose an eyebrow but didn’t choose to question it.
after everyone, or so he thought, had left the kitchen, he started cleaning up what was left. “what the hell are you still doing in here?”, sanji groaned, being faced with the sight of the green-haired swordsman when he turned around. “quit whining, i can go wherever i want”, zoro fought back.
“did you say something to y/n earlier?”, he asked, picking up a random fruit on the counter. sanji rose an eyebrow as he continued scrubbing the dishes, “no? why are you asking me that”, he asked. “well, i saw her leave right after you gave nami and her those drinks. then i went to the bathroom and she was in there. sounded like she was crying or something”, he told him. sanjis eyes widened at what he said, pausing everything he was doing. “she was crying…?”, sanji muttered, turning to look at zoro who was playing catch with a random apple. “yeah, i guess. but if you say you didn’t do anything then maybe it was something else”, he shrugged, placing the apple down and walking out. sanji stayed in the same position he was in for a moment, thinking about what zoro said. he didn’t remember ever offending you, so what could’ve happened? he sighed, finishing up the last bit of the dishes left before closing up the kitchen.
soon enough, everything was packed away and sanji was able to go to sleep. he let out a yawn as he closed the kitchen door, rubbing his eyes. “finally, i’m exhausted- SHIT”, he exclaimed in shock, running into someone. “who the hell- y/n?”, he questioned in surprise. your eyes were wide as you realized who you had run into. you muttered small curses under your breath as you began to back away. “sorry, i’ll get going”, you started, beginning to turn around as you started to walk away. “no, wait”, sanji interfered, grabbing your wrist. your eyes widened at the motion. “were you gonna try to get leftovers?”, he asked. you let out a light laugh, trying to skim over the topic. “what? no! i just- well…”, you stuttered. yeah, you were busted.
“why weren’t you at dinner? nobody ever skips dinner”, sanji asked. his hand was still on your wrist as he looked into your eyes, a small bit of concern being prominent. “wasn’t hungry”, you muttered, looking away from him. he rose an eyebrow at your odd behavior, something was up and he knew it. “you don’t expect me to believe that when i just caught you trying to sneak leftovers, right?”, he asked, cocking his head to the side. “it doesn’t matter, just forget it. im going to bed”, you sighed, trying to pull your hand away from his hold. “tell me what’s wrong, y/n. did something happen? did someone say something?”, he asked, trying to look you in the eyes, something you were dodging.
“where is this concern suddenly coming from?”, you muttered just loud enough so he could hear you. that left him even more confused than before, his eyebrows tightening as he tried to figure out what you meant. the silence finally pushed you to look at him. you wanted to scoff at his confused expression. “you don’t care about me like the others, and you don’t have to pretend to because it’s just us here”, you told him, your voice a bit stern. his eyes widened at your words, shocked and lost. “wait, what? where is this coming from?”, he asked, a mix of concern and confusion lacing his words. “you always avoid me, sanji, and it hurts. it hurts a lot. you don’t look at me the same way you look at nami and other girls, you always keep our conversations short, hell, sometimes you don’t even look at me when we’re talking. i get it, maybe i’m not pretty like nami, or as entertaining as luffy and usopp, but is that really enough of a reason to hate me?”, you ranted, your voice cracking. once you started, you couldn’t get yourself to stop, it was a never ending pile of word vomit.
once you finished, you sighed, sniffling as you wiped a few tears running down your face. the silence was deafening as you looked at the ground, anxiously waiting for his response. “…is that really what you think?”, he finally muttered, his voice just loud enough so you could hear him. your silence clearly told him what your answer was. “y/n, look at me”, he asked. you remained still, your eyes staring daggers into the ground. he sighed, gently moving your head with two fingers so you’d face him. “listen to me when i say this. i do not hate you. it’s the complete opposite of that, actually. if i knew what i was doing made you feel like this, i would’ve stopped being such a wimp”, he sighed. you rose an eyebrow at his choice of words. “wimp?”, you questioned. “the truth is that i really, really like you. so much that i become a nervous wreck around you. that’s why i kept our conversations so short and never looked you in the eye. cause if i did, i’d probably explode on the spot. but to think that because i was such a coward that i had you feeling like this, had you skipping a meal all because i was nervous. i’m such an asshole”, he spoke, his regret being notable in his tone.
your eyes were blown open at his words, your jaw a bit agape. this whole time you thought he hated your guts, but in reality, it was the complete opposite. he was just nervous around you. you didn’t even know someone like him could get nervous around women. before you could reply, you felt his arms wrap around you, knocking the breath out of you due to shock. “im sorry, y/n. please forgive me. it hurts to see you cry, and it’s even worse knowing it’s my fault”, he apologized, his voice dripping with sorrow. you opened your mouth to speak, but you couldn’t even find words. you were shocked to say the least. sanji took the silence as a form of not accepting his apology, so he sighed. “it’s alright, i understand, i’ll-“, “NO! no, wait. i’m just shocked, that’s all… i forgive you… it’s alright”, you yelped, grabbing onto the sides of his arms. his eyes were wide for a moment, but quickly softened. a small smile grew on his face as he looked at you .
“you know what would be a nice make-up gift, though?”, you started. “what is it? i’ll do anything, you name it”, he answered quickly, pulling away from you to look you in the eyes. just as you were about to speak, your stomach let out a loud grumble. the two of you froze for a second. “guess my stomach spoke for me, huh?”, you laughed. sanji let out a light chuckle.
“one fresh plate coming up!”

Returned Kisses
Zoro
“Zoro!” you sang, skipping across the deck. “I have a question.”
Zoro groaned. Your questions were never as simple as you initially made them out to be.
“Can I give you a kiss?” you asked, your cheeks turning a cute rose color. “If you don’t like it, I can return it!”
Zoro scowled at you, trying to decipher your strange slew of words. “How do you return a kiss?” he asked. He set down the weights he had been using, trying not to sound too interested.
“I guess you’ll just have to see!”
His eyes scanned the ship. There was nobody else around. And he had to admit, he was curious how your lips tasted.
“Make it quick, then.” He sighed, trying to act as if he were apathetic to the whole idea, but his pinkened cheeks did not go overlooked.
Your lips pressed against his, and he could taste a distinct sugary sweetness Normally he hated sweets, but he found it quite enjoyable upon your lips.
When you finally pulled away, he quickly wetted his own lips with his tongue, desperate to get another taste.
“I think I’ll return it,” he said, looking at you.
“Oh.” Your shoulders slumped in defeat. “Not very good then, was-?”
He pushed his lips back against yours with a sort of desperation and hunger that you weren’t expecting, and your mouth fell open in surprise against his. He quickly pushed his tongue past your lips, hungry  for more of your sweetness.
When he finally pulled away, he shot you a cocky smirk. “Maybe you should try again later. I might not return it next time.”
Sanji
“Sanji!” You opened the swinging door to the kitchen, searching for him.
“Do you need something, my love?” he asked. “Whatever you want, I will gladly give you.”
“Great!” you smiled. “I was thinking I could give you something, though.”
“Me?” He looked around the room, trying to figure out what you meant.
“Yeah! I was thinking I could give you a kiss,” you offered. “If you didn’t like it-Sanji!”
The poor cook had collapsed to the ground, sent into shock by your offer. He seemed to be mumbling and babbling words, but you couldn’t make them out.
You knelt down next to him, pulling his head into your lap to make sure he was okay.
“Oh, Y/N love,” he whispered, finally coming back to his senses. “I had this strange dream where you offered to kiss me.”
You laughed. “I did offer to kiss you.”
His eyes were suddenly clear now, and very focused on your lips. So you bent down and pressed them against his own. You could hear his breathing become shallow, but you steeled your nerves and stayed there for a moment before you pulled away.
“If you don’t like it, you can return it,” you whispered.
Sanji’s eyes were practically hearts as he stared up at you. “Can I still return it even if I did like it?”
You giggled, crinkling your nose as you laughed. “I suppose so.”
“Good!” He reached up and pulled you back down to him, keeping his lips pressed into yours until Luffy ran into the kitchen looking for more food.
Luffy
“Luffy! Come here!” you called up to the captain. He was in his seat on the figurehead, like always.
“You come here!” he yelled back. Rubber arms extended towards you and whipped you up next to him. “What’s up?”
“Can I give you a kiss?” you asked. “You can return it if-”
His lips smashed against yours, and you could feel his mouth stretching into a smile. You couldn’t help but smile too, your head foggy with giddiness at his willingness to say yes.
He finally pulled away from you, his laugh filling the air around you. “That was nice.”
“I was supposed to give you a kiss, Luffy!” You were trying to scold him, but you couldnt wipe that stupid smile off your face.
“Do you want to give me one?” he asked, his eyes lighting up. “You can give me another one!”
You leaned back into another kiss, his arms already wrapped around your neck. He was trying not to be too eager, but once your fingers tangled into his raven locks, he abandoned all common sense and worked to devour as much of you as he could get.

Sanji:
“Ah, - he rests his elbows on the table, pupils dilated and somehow taken the form of an heart as his face rests on his palms. - she…”
The moment you are mentioned in the conversation, Sanji completely melts. His mind now travels distant lands where he imagines you and his surroundings become dust.
“She completely devastates me. - he closes his eyes and starts describing you. - Eyes that lure me in even with the shortest of glance, a smile that determines my fate, the touch of those hands that are grown among prickles of roses and yet have remained so soft that when caressing my skin so gently, I feel like I am healed from everything that has hurt me. Ah, for my love I could talk for hours. She… she is someone I thought I could ever meet. A miracle.”
Zoro
He puts his sake down for a moment, eyes lowered as he looks down whilst thinking. Suddenly he chuckles and shakes his head.
“That woman will be the death of me. - Zoro says, leaning against the chair with a sigh and a smile. - She’s an open book, easy to understand, at least for me. The way she smiles and lightens up every time she sees me… it warms my heart. I hear my name falling out her lips and my whole body just shivers from the sound of her voice. Sometimes while I’m training she’ll walk by to visit me. Those are the times I cherish a lot since we don’t get to be alone together for a long time. Small pecks she gives me during the day, notes that she sticks to my swords, lipstick marks on my clothes…- his pushes his head back, staring at the ceiling as he covers his bashful face. - What a woman she is… I can never get enough of her.”
Luffy
“Ah, she’s amazing! - his eyes shine brightly at the mention of your name. - we have known each other for a while now.”
Luffy smiles, voice deepening as his cheeks turn slightly pink.
“We met as she tried to save my life. That type of courage, I’ve seen only in a few people. - he begins explaining. - Anyone that looks at her can feel how genuine she is: her kindness… she has helped so many people and yet fails to see how she has helped me the most by opening my heart to so many new experiences. I don’t know what it is, perhaps I’m always too full when I look at her and my stomach feels heavy, my eyes get fixated on her as she watches over the horizon, the one I used to observe but now I completely ignore it, as if I’ve found something more beautiful to look forward to.”
Buggy
“Uh?? Why would you ask me about her?”- with his voice high pitched eyebrow raised, Buggy is taken a bit aback but soon calms down his protective instinct. - Well, there’s no reason for you to know but I’ll say it anyways because I’m so proud of my girl.”
He smirks, crossing his legs as he sits comfortably whilst beginning his description:
“A total babe, tall and curvy, so beautiful that my hands shake upon first touching her. - his eyes soften a bit, so does his voice. - Her laugh is the most precious thing ever in my world. She chuckles at my jokes and makes me laugh too. Not only is she fun, but my sweetheart is my biggest support. There is no one who believes in me like her. And… if I can become the man that she hopes I can be, then I could make her the happiest, like she makes me. A man like me saw her and truly believed that I had found the treasure that was meant for me and I’m willing to guard her with my life.”

LUFFY
When you first began to court Luffy via your pod’s traditions, you quickly realized you’d have to improvise; Luffy had no clue what any of your actions meant, no matter how obvious you made it.
You brought your captain countless gifts, ranging from perfect pearls to slightly chipped sand dollars, and each time all he did was smile, thank you, and skip away to add your gift to his growing collection.
This time, however, you would make sure he understood, lest your sanity slip away.
He sat criss crossed on his special seat, the mast of the ship, and you stood on the deck with a pretty pink and blue conch shell in hand. Hopeful eyes set on the man you admired, you failed to notice Robin coming up beside you. She hummed softly, startling you. “Oh, hi.”
“He’ll like that one.” Robin smiled cheekily. “But you want my advice?”
“Please.”
A chuckle left her as she looked on at her captain. “Be as straightforward as you can. Ask him what his feelings are.”
Blinking widely, you gazed back at Luffy. That surely seemed easy enough. Steeling yourself with a sigh, you nodded once and trudged forward, up the stairs to the foredeck and all the way up to where the masthead met the deck. Words rose to your lips and fell short, breath caught by the way the wind and sun sat around him like good friends. Luffy sat leaned back on his hands, eyes gently shut, easy smile on his face. You couldn’t dare to break such a moment, not till you nearly dropped the shell and let slip a little yelp.
Luffy reacted instantly, tilting back his head to see what was the matter. He grinned upon seeing you, sending jitters through your belly. “Hey!” His eyes lowered to the conchshell tight in your grasp, jabbing a finger at it. “What’s that?”
He already knew it was for him; Luffy grew to look forward to your random gifts, treasuring them in his quarters and spending a little time each morning just admiring them.
You glanced down at your gift, mustering up your courage and hoping beyond hoping that he’ll finally understand. “It’s for you. I found it this morning.”
Found was an understatement. You’d scoured the seafloor all morning to find something worthy of bestowing upon your love. Luffy beamed even brighter, if possible. “Really?” He slid off the mast and landed right in front of you.
Luffy’s eyes shown like stars, his lips slightly parted as he ghosted his hands over the silky surface of the shell. You passed it on to his caloused hands, skin sparking as his fingers slid against yours. You stood transfixed upon him and how gently he handled the gift, turning it this way and that to see every nook and cranny, leaving no part of it unknown. A sharp ba-dump ba-dump echoed in your chest.
“It’s great,” he breathed, raising his eyes to peer into yours. Soft wasn’t a word one would use to describe Luffy. Brash and loud, yes. But not soft. Yet, there was this secret shadow of him that was softer beyond compare, only revealed in moments of deep distress… or right now, when you hand him a piece of your heart.
You felt a soft prod at your back, hand lunging back to catch a phantom wrist. You quickly released Robin’s hand, whipping around to spy her, but she was nowhere in sight. Puffing your cheeks, you swiveled back just to find Luffy leaning close over your shoulder, eyes squinted. “What’re we looking for?”
“N-Nothing.” Gazing into his face, you coiled your fists. “Luffy, I have a question.”
Instantly, all his attention was on you, pleasantly awaiting. “Mhmm?”
“I… I was wondering… do—do you—do you like… tangerines?”
Luffy blinked a little blankly, before shrugging a shoulder. “Yeah, I like ‘em. What an odd question.” He ruffled up your hair and hurried off. “I’m gonna add this to my collection. Thanks a bunch!”
“Yeah… no problem.” Cupping yoru face in your hands, you groaned disparingly. Cracking open an eye, you found a single arm sprouting from the deck rail sporting a thumb’s up of comfort.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
NAMI
The gifts had been a constant before you and Nami made it official, but after? Nami was running out of room to keep all the nick-nacks you showered her with. She’d never tell you that though, the smile on your face each time you offered up a gift a treasure in itself.
So Nami settled for becoming the ship’s interior decorator, making it a project to find the best places to present your increasingly beautiful finds.
Hanging from the wall in the galley was a giant piece of seaglass wrapped in fishing net. On the kitchen table an array of shells sat in a decorative bowl. Each of the boys had a whole sand dollar they were not allowed to touch on the their bed table.
It took you a few weeks to notice it, with the decorations growing over time, but when you did a surprised yet excited beam took you face. You noticed the solid pink clam shell you’d found a month ago among the table decorations, immediately whirling on Nami with a bright smile. “I found that, didn’t I?”
She was worried you’d be upset with her decorating, but now you coudln’t have looked happier. Nami’s cheeks reddened as she laughed, nodding. “You did. I thought I’d put some of your treasures around so we can all admire them.”
You shot up from the table and bounded off. “How many more are there? Did you hide them?”
Nami watched misty eyed, heart warm as the sound of your voice echoed back to the galley. Robin chuckled behind her hand, winking when Nami caught her eye. Nami blushed deeper and, flustered, got up to chase after you.
After that, she really set out to hide the gifts you brought her, tucking them between books and pans. Your search grew to be a calm sort of game. You would be lying in a hammock by Nami’s side, her reading a book aloud, when you lazily pointed to the bookshelf and murmured, “There’s the blue one I got last week.”
The whole crew even joined in after a while, and a board was set up in the galley to tally the scores. Even after four months of the treasure hide-and-seek, you came out on top with the most finds, and if someone dared to come close to taking your title? Well, you reminded them that you have two rows of razor-sharp teeth, and suddenly you were champion once again.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
SANJI Sanji treasures each and every gift you bring him, to the point where his nose starts to bleed every other trinket. He doesn’t love the gifts a normal amount, okay. He will set them up all over the kitchen and randomly point them out to anyone nearby.
“Look at that one! She had to have dove down so many depths to get it. Ah~”
“Mosshead, get your slimy, bottom-feeder hands away from my seashells.”
Everyone knew to treat your gifts to Sanji with immense care, and that fact sent a wave of pride through your heart. You sat at the kitchen counter watching him cook, lining up the shells just to admire them, every once in a while making them into the shape of a heart and sending him into cardiac arrest.
Oh, but the gift he’s most proud of? It’s the one he wears round his neck every single day.
The first pearl you brought him was a small thing, around the size of a pinky, and you handed it to him shyly while saying you couldn’t find a bigger one to display. Sanji barely breathed, rolling it in his palm and just thinking of how lucky he is to have you, that you would dive down into the sea just to find him the most beautiful treasures.
Yes, it was part of your culture, so part of this was customary to you, but after each of his lovely reactions your gift-giving grew into more of a habit of the heart, eyes always peeled for any trinket Sanji might enjoy. So when you noticed how he held the pearl with such care, the milky white of it looking so nice against his palm, you got an idea.
Every single morning for the next two months you gathered pearl after pearl, keeping them in a little box under your bed. Sneakily, you even managed to take the original pearl from the ring box Sanji kept it in. The scare it gave him when he awoke, turned to his bed table, and his prized gift from his lovely mermaid was missing?? He was inconsolable, so much so that you rushed to give him his gift a day earlier, giggling as you cut off his apologies.
“It’s okay,” you beamed, handing him a small paper wrapped object. “I think this will fix it.”
You bounced on your heels as Sanji sat down at the counter and delicately handled the paper, revealing the pearl necklace within. For the longest moment, he said nothing at all, only staring down at it blankly. You ducked to catch more of his expression, worrying your lip between your teeth. “Do you like it?”
Sanji’s lips ticked upward, eyes holding so much affection you could feel it hit you as he raised his gaze. “I love it. Thank you, my love.”
You couldn’t hold back the magnitude of your smile, reached to help him put it on. As soon as the cool pearls hit his skin, he felt a sense of wholeness only you could explain. He ran a finger over the necklace, wiping away a trail of blood with his wrist, and turned to take you in his arms.
From that day forth, he never took the necklace off.
Sanji never wasted a moment he could show it off, unbuttoning the tops of his shirts so it was more visible. You were more than pleased by this, hanging off his arm as you swept through markets, casting every admiring woman a lethal glare before reaching to toy with the pearls around his neck.
Let’s just say the gift satisfied a more possessive part of your nature you did your best to hide from your lover.

op hcs: taking a shower with them!
strawhats x reader! cw: suggestive material for sanji and zoro
Tumblr media
luffy:
will be messing around the entire time
throwing water at your face, playing with rubber ducks… you know, just being luffy
will refuse unless its a bubble bath
he doesn’t really need massages because, well, he’s made of rubber, but he’ll gladly give you one! (he will try)
you two get to role-play as war generals while your rubber ducks go to war
overall not really sexual, he’d kinda be too busy having fun
nami:
will go ALL out, bath bombs sugar scrubs scented candles EVERYTHING
nami goes all out in general whenever she showers by herself, so why not treat her gf even better?
you will get the absolute best scalp massage of your life, and she’ll massage every part of your body until you forget what tension is
warning: it will probably be difficult to concentrate when you’re in front of her while she’s naked
afterwords you’ll braid each others hair and do face masks, just an adorable little spa day
zoro:
this man REEKS
when you get in that bathtub you come in with a MISSION
you instantly get to work and throw out his 12-in-one shampoo and clean him properly
with his back pressed against your chest and your fingers delicately threading through his scalp, he’ll mumble something about how it feels okay-ish, and you’ll know you won
argue with him to shave his armpits bc he stinks but you eventually win
he’ll insist on washing your body, with his hands lingering on some parts, inciting a playful kick to his stomach and a giggle
usopp:
he’ll be a bit worried when you ask to shower with him
he’s a bit insecure about his body, especially as someone as beautiful and amazing as you seeing it
his plan: absolutely covering the tub in bubbles and soap to the point its overflowing so he can just hide inside it
sadly, you’re too smart and know him too well, and after five minutes of you complaining about usopp getting out of the tub to help you clean and him staying put under his blanket of bubbles, you’re able to guess why
some reassuring hugs and kisses later, you’re back to the regularly scheduled programming and he’s showing his multi step hair care routine while you’re in awe
you walk away knowing 10x more about hair
sanji:
…. im sure you all know how this will go
25 seconds into you walking in the tub he has a nosebleed and taints the bath water
but besides that, he’s like nami on steroids
rose petals, candles, bath bombs, wine, fairy lights, dude got it all (after all, showering with your lover is one of the greatest forms of intimacy!)
after cleaning up the bath and replacing the water, he climbs back in and tries to hold his composure as his eyes take your naked form in
he’s seen you naked before, but nonetheless its a holy experience every time
“stop gawking, perv!” you’d playfully yell, and pull him in until he’s elbows deep in the water and grinning
he will take the utmost care to your body, massaging every last corner and gracing his slender fingers through each rift, leaving a trail of delicate kisses wherever he passes
“sanji, you’re supposed to be cleaning my body, not leaving your spit!” “sorry, mon amour, but can you really blame me?

let you break my heart again
pairing: Shanks x Marine!Reader, Garp’s Daughter!Reader, Familial!Luffy x Reader
tags: Bittersweet, Unrequited Love, Angst, Non-Sexual Tension, No Use of Y/N, Small Physical Descriptions
word count: 7.400
summary: She was an anchor, foolishly reaching for the tide, but Shanks was the sea—vast, restless, and never meant to be caught.
or: She realized that Shanks and Luffy were the same - both too wild and free-spirited to be held back, they were always going to chase their dreams, while she just had to accept being left behind.
Contrary to popular belief, Garp was not a failure. Two of his grandsons might’ve been pirates, the (currently unknown) third grandson and his son were in a group that opposed the World Government directly—more so, his son happened to be the leader of said notorious group—but Garp was not a failure, this was a story far before three of his grandchildren venture the world, a story of Garp’s daughter who happened to be a Vice Admiral.
She was the only person who survived Garp’s harsh beatings and still went to become a Marine, rose up the ranks and became a Vice Admiral in a short amount of time, without the help of Garp’s notorious name. She had been raised under Garp’s strict yet strangely affectionate hand, harsh, but his fist of love, in her mind, was loving indeed. Unlike Garp, who happened to be the Hero of the Marines, a name that makes few pirates quiver in fear, she had a slightly different job description other than the normal Marine duty.
She was Luffy’s caretaker. (Aunty!)
Garp had left him in her care more often than not, dropping him off in Dawn Island with nothing but his usual booming laughter and a dismissive wave. It had been her arms that carried him when he scraped his knees, her scolding that rang in his ears when he got into trouble. She had been the one to ensure he ate proper meals, even when he whined about wanting meat and nothing else. She had been the one to sit by the shore, watching him grin at the horizon and dream of an adventure she could not give him.
The first time in years, she heard of Shanks through her own nephew, Luffy, she didn’t really get to see him.
Marines duties mean that she couldn’t be with Luffy every day, but when she got back to Foosha Village, Luffy excitedly told her of a Red-haired pirate named Shanks who was a super cool pirate and went on super cool adventures.
(She should teach him more vocabulary)
Luffy was still animatedly telling her about the pirate he had encountered, though her thoughts drifted, carried by the rhythm of the waves, back to a time when things had been simpler—not easier, but simpler. Before the weight of a uniform, before duty carved its place into her bones, before she had to choose what kind of person she would become.
A tune played in her mind, faint but familiar, and without thinking, she hummed along. The melody belonged to the sea. It was a song of open horizons, of laughter caught in the wind, of voices raised against the vast blue.
She was lost back then, stranded in a ship her father sought for, but somehow, for the first time, she felt like she belonged.
A beaming face flashed through her mind—grinning, untamed, golden like the sun. A voice, warm as sunlight on wood, reached across the years.
"You’re free to join me, kid!"
The memory struck like a wave, crashing over her before she could brace herself.
She could still hear the distant sound of boots against timber, the rustling of an old coat caught in the wind. She could still feel the way the ship had rocked beneath her feet—not just any ship. His ship.
Her fingers twitched, as if they still remembered the worn grooves of the railing she used to lean against, watching the horizon stretch endlessly before her.
She exhaled sharply, dragging herself back to the present.
"That was a lifetime ago."
And yet, no matter how much time passed, no matter how deep she buried it, the ocean never forgot. It carried whispers of the past in every crashing wave, every shifting tide.
“What was that, Aunty?” Luffy’s grin still wide, not a speck of annoyance or any negative emotions from being interrupted.
“No, nothing.” She dismissed, “What were you saying, Lu?”
The next time the Red-Haired Pirates docked in Foosha Village, she had been there, watching from a distance with suspicion. The village hadn’t changed much—still quiet, still warm, still untouched by the chaos of the wider world. But she had changed, and so had he.
She leaned against the thick trunk of a tree, arms crossed, her sharp gaze following the familiar ship as it bobbed gently in the harbor. The villagers greeted the pirates with ease, laughing as they carried barrels of supplies toward the shore. They trusted Shanks and his men. They always had.
But trust was a fragile thing.
She knew who they were. She knew their captain quite well—perhaps too well. Once upon a time, before either of them had carved out their own paths, she had sailed alongside him. Before they had their own crews, before his captain fell, before she understood the weight of what it meant to choose a side.
And she had chosen.
She knew what pirates stood for—what they embodied. Freedom, recklessness, defiance. Chaos incarnate. And yet, Shanks had never seemed bound by the ugliness of the title. He carried it differently, with an ease that was as frustrating as it was dangerous.
So when he turned and met her gaze across the clearing, when he grinned like the years between them hadn’t built walls of duty and ideology, she wasn’t sure if she wanted to scowl or sigh.
He approached with the same unhurried confidence he had always possessed, hands loose at his sides, his red coat draped over one shoulder. The years had deepened the lines at the corners of his eyes, but the amusement in them remained the same.
“You’re a Marine now, huh?” His voice was warm, teasing, laced with that infuriating sense of knowing. “Never thought I’d see the day where the snot-nosed brat turned into someone all high and mighty.”
She scoffed, shifting her weight, unwilling to give him the satisfaction of a real reaction. “Never thought I’d see the short kid with a crew of his own.”
That made him laugh—a real, full-bodied laugh, the kind that rang through the air and made the villagers glance their way with knowing smiles. He hadn’t changed. Not really.
But she had.
And they both knew it.
Still, for a fleeting moment, standing there in the dappled sunlight with the sound of the waves in the distance, she almost let herself believe that things were still simple.
Almost.
She exhaled sharply, crossing her arms as she regarded the red-haired pirate. He didn’t understand. Not really. He saw Luffy’s freedom, his dream, and admired it—but he hadn’t been the one to watch over him, to worry constantly, to fear the day Luffy would sail away and never come back. the sea, the undeniable will that burned in his chest, the same fire she had tried so hard to protect him from.
"Heard you’ve been telling Luffy stuff," she muttered, voice lower, as if saying it too loudly would make it real. "He's just a kid."
Shanks only smiled, something knowing behind his eyes. "So was I. So were you."
She scowled at him, unimpressed. "That’s not the same."
He chuckled, easy and carefree, shifting the weight of his coat over his shoulders. "Maybe not. But you know as well as I do—you can’t control him. Not anymore."
She hated that he was right.
Luffy bounced between them, looking between their tense exchange with wide, curious eyes. "Wait, wait, wait—you two know each other?"
Shanks grinned down at him. "Something like that."
"Aunty, you know Shanks?!" Luffy gasped, as if the very thought was unbelievable.
Shanks barked out a laugh, slinging an arm around her shoulder in the same way he used to when they were kids—like it was nothing, like there weren’t years between them, like the world hadn’t drawn lines in the sand between them.
"Know me?" Shanks grinned wide, pulling her into his side despite her very pointed attempt to shove him off. "Kid, your aunty used to follow me around like a lost puppy."
Her fist collided with his stomach before he even finished his sentence.
"Ow—!"
Luffy laughed wildly, eyes shining. "Really?!!"
"No!" she snapped at the same time Shanks smugly drawled, "Maybe."
She groaned, stepping away before she lost any more of her sanity. It was infuriating how easily he weaved himself into her life again, as if the years apart didn’t matter, as if they weren’t standing on opposite sides of the law.
Shanks rubbed his stomach where she’d punched him, grinning despite himself. "Still got that right hook, huh?"
She shot him a glare that would have made lesser men tremble. "And I'll use it again with Haki if you keep talking."
His laughter followed her as she walked away, but she ignored it, ignored the warmth in her chest, and ignored the fact that Shanks had never really left her thoughts all these years.
And deep down, she knew he never would.
The next time the Red-Haired Pirates docked, she didn’t expect to see Shanks. At least, not really. She heard the usual buzz from the villagers—excited chatter, playful groans about the ruckus his crew always brought—but she’d learned to ignore it. She had work to do, and a certain red-haired pirate was the last thing she needed occupying her thoughts.
Yet, here he was.
Standing in front of her, grinning like a fool, struggling to balance—of all things—a fully grown tangerine tree in his arms.
The bush was far bigger than him, its leafy branches swaying as he adjusted his grip. She blinked, staring at him, a little exasperated, a little dumbfounded. What was he even doing?
Shanks tilted his head, peering around the tangle of branches just to get a better look at her, and when he called her name—just like that, so easy, so familiar—her heart did something funny.
A flutter. A hesitation. A warmth she refused to acknowledge.
Maybe she hadn’t let go of her feelings from back then.
"Look what I found," he said, his voice as bright as the sea breeze, thick with amusement. "A fully grown tangerine tree, your favorite!"
Her mouth opened—then closed. She stared at the tree, the vibrant, ripe fruit hanging lazily from its branches. Her favorite. A passing remark she’d made more than a decade ago, back when she was still young, still trying to figure out who she was in the grand scheme of things. And he remembered.
Of course, he did.
She crossed her arms, raising a brow. "Shanks, why—"
"Don’t worry, I stole it fair and square," he interrupted, far too pleased with himself.
She sighed, dragging a hand down her face. "That’s not—That’s not better."
He laughed, shifting the tree in his arms like some grand treasure, completely unbothered. Just like always.
And just like always, she felt herself slipping—falling into the space where Shanks wasn’t just a pirate, where the weight of their titles, their paths, didn’t matter.
Maybe, just for a second, she let herself forget.
“Aunty!” Luffy excitedly shouted, something he’d do when seeing the red haired pirate, “What’s that?” He circled around the tangerine tree in awe, Dawn Island wasn’t a suitable island for tangerine trees, they need well drained and a slightly acidic soil to thrive, she didn’t not have the privilege to play gardener in her free time.
“It’s a tangerine tree,” She offered Luffy her lap as she took a tangerine, peeling it off for him, “It’s my favorite,” Her gaze softened and she saw Luffy complained about the tangerine being sour.
Shanks looks at the duo with warmth, he didn’t realize there would be a day where the brute kid he once knew could be a soft mother figure to a rambunctious boy, but he realized that his heart did something funny.
Maybe it was just because the scene in front of him was endearing.
Nothing more.
The sun hung low over Foosha Village, casting golden light over the docks where the Red-Haired Pirates were loading up supplies onto the Red Force. The scent of salt and fresh fruit lingered in the air, mixing with the easy laughter of pirates enjoying their last moments on land.
Mayor Wood Slap stood with his arms crossed, watching the familiar sight of Shanks and his crew preparing to leave once again. He let out a huff, shaking his head.
"Shanks has been here for a while, hasn’t he?" the mayor muttered, eyeing the pirate captain, who was laughing at something Luffy had said.
Beside him, she stood with her hands tucked into her coat pockets, watching the scene unfold.
"Too long," she admitted, though her voice lacked any real bite.
Mayor Wood Slap glanced at her and sighed.n
“You’ve also been her a little too long, Ms. Vice Admiral,” The Mayor said with a slight edge, her title being used for teasing. “Might as well just get married and move in!”
She grimaced, but the thought itself didn’t disgust her, just the realization that, yes, she has been here quite a while, it seemed she couldn’t part away from Dawn Island, not when Shanks is here and willing to stay for more than a few weeks.
"Stop this Marine foolishness, your father is enough of a Marine for this whole village!"
She didn’t react at first, simply watching as Luffy clung to Shanks' arm, pouting about something. The pirate ruffled the boy’s hair with a lopsided grin, and for a moment, it almost looked… normal. Like a family.
She exhaled through her nose. "You know I can't do that." A small smile tugged at her lips, finding amusement at the Mayor’s statement.
Makino, wiping her hands on her apron, leaned against the wooden railing with a warm smile. "Don’t you ever want to settle down, Mrs. Marine-chan?" she teased, her tone lighthearted.
She snorted at the nickname but didn’t argue.
"Yeah," she admitted, her gaze softening as it drifted to Luffy, who was now sitting cross-legged on a barrel, animatedly telling Shanks something about travelling through the seas, wanting to become a pirate. His eyes sparkled with excitement, his hands moving wildly as he spoke.
"I’d want that, actually."
Makino tilted her head. "Then why don’t you?"
She smiled faintly, but it didn’t quite reach her eyes. "Because people like me don’t get that kind of life."
Mayor Wood Slap huffed again, shaking his head. "You sound just like your father."
She didn’t respond. Instead, she just kept watching Luffy, the boy who would eventually chase after the sea just like Shanks.
Just like all the things she couldn’t hold onto.
Little did she know, Shanks heard everything
Shanks hadn’t meant to listen. Not really. He’d been overseeing his crew, hands resting easily on his belt, exchanging laughs with Benn and Yasopp while making sure the men loaded the last of their supplies onto the Red Force. But her voice—steady, thoughtful—cut through the casual chatter, anchoring his attention before he even realized it.
"Yeah. I’d want that, actually."
For a moment, he didn’t move. Didn’t turn. Just stood there, gaze fixed ahead, as if the words hadn’t settled under his skin like a slow-burning ember. It wasn’t what she said—it was the way she said it. Soft, sure. Not a fleeting thought, not an empty remark. A truth she might not have meant for anyone to hear.
He tilted his head slightly, just enough to catch a glimpse of her—not the Marine, not the soldier, but the girl who once ran barefoot through The Oro Jackson, who had always been just a little too stubborn, a little too untouchable. And yet, there she was, looking at the kid with an expression he couldn’t really decipher.
Shanks exhaled, a slow chuckle forming at the back of his throat before he swallowed it down. He didn’t tease. Didn’t joke. Didn’t let the thought linger longer than it should.
Instead, he turned back to his crew, grinning as if nothing had changed. Because maybe nothing had. Or maybe, years down the line, when their paths crossed again, he’d remember this moment—not because of what she’d said, but because of the way, for the first time, he’d wondered what it might mean if she really meant it.
And she meant it
-
“So,” His Firstmate drawled out, “You knew our captain since back then?” He nonchalantly offered her a cigarette which she happily took, rarely did she ever do so, but her stress has been piling up, with The Red-Haired pirates docking for a while, on top of Luffy’s claim of wanting to become Pirate King, and Marine duties.
She stared at the infamous Benn Beckman, she noted that she was attractive, an air of authority surrounding him.
“Was lost once, sailed for a while,” She breathed in the cigarette, blowing out the smoke, her tense body relaxed slightly, the nicotine taking effect.
Beckman grinned.
“How did that go?”
Gol D. Roger had a habit of picking up strays. Shanks and Buggy were proof of that. But this? This was something else entirely.
For months now, they’d had an extra pair of hands on the ship—small, quick, and strangely competent for a kid. No one really questioned where she came from. She pulled her weight, didn’t cause trouble (well, no more than Buggy and Shanks, which was already the bare minimum because of their pirate apprentice status), and had a sharp tongue that fit right in with the rest of the crew.
She didn’t even flinch at the chaos that was the Oro Jackson, which made Roger think she belonged here.
Shanks had unofficially adopted her as his tiny sparring partner. Buggy swore up and down that she was a cursed demon child because she always managed to mess with him without getting caught. Scopper Gaban taught her how to tie proper knots, Rayleigh made sure she didn’t get herself killed, and even Roger himself had taken a liking to the little menace.
She was a pirate alright.
Being one of the three kids in the infamous pirate ship, Oro Jackson, meant you had to fight for good sleeping spots. The older you get, the more you think that sleep is just sleep, but as someone with youth, anything could be made a competition, and that includes getting the best sleeping spot in the ship.
And somehow, the best spot had been claimed by Buggy.
"This is my bed," Buggy said, sprawled across the best hammock in the entire ship. "Go find your own."
She frowned and crossed her arms, annoyed at the clown’s behavior. "But you’re always sleeping there!"
"No." Buggy turned to her. "And especially not you. You're tiny. You'll kick me off in your sleep." He regretted saying that, despite being younger, she was actually a bit taller than Shanks and Buggy due to her lineage, the men in her family stood at least 8’ tall, it would be weird if she were any shorter. So at a young age, she was already much taller than the two boys.
The girl raised an eyebrow. "You literally fall off all the time by yourself."
Buggy scowled. "That is not the point."
Shanks smirked. "Guess we'll have to settle this like pirates."
Buggy paled. "Wait—"
It became a war.
Buggy used his Chop-Chop powers to keep them away. Shanks with both of his swords, and the little stowaway with her Haki coated hands.
Roger and Rayleigh watched in amusement from the other side of the deck.
"Should we stop them?" Rayleigh asked, ready to teach the kids a lesson.
"Nah," Roger chuckled, looking at the trio weirdly, yet slightly amused. "This is the most fun I've had all week.
“Though I am curious about how the girl is already using armament haki very well.” Roger questioned, her stance also very familiar, but he didn’t think too much about it, maybe it was just a fleeting thought, nothing of importance.
Eventually, nobody won.
By the time the sky was dead at night, Buggy, Shanks, and the girl were all tangled up in one blanket, snoring. Roger grinned and draped another blanket over them, not wanting to move them from above the ship as he made his way inside towards the most comfortable hammock Buggy had left.
Oro Jackson itself was filled with middle aged men, so snoring was always going to be an issue, but she grew up with the manliest of men, his snoring rivaled that of a lion’s roar, yet she was awake, unwilling to sleep due to said noises.
She saw Shanks and Buggy curled up on the blanket placed on top of them. She wriggled her way out as she saw the beautiful stars in the night sky. Her movement caused another person in the trio to move. Shanks has awakened.
“Morning, sleepyhead.”
The sea was calm that night, the Oro Jackson rocking gently as the waves lapped against its hull. Most of the crew was asleep, save for a few night watchmen and the two smallest members of the ship—Shanks and her—perched up on the deck, legs dangling over the edge.
Shanks had dragged a blanket out and wrapped it around them both, the night air cool against their skin. The stars above stretched endlessly, shimmering like scattered treasure.
"Ever think about the future?" Shanks asked, breaking the quiet.
She blinked, turning to look at him. "What do you mean?"
Shanks leaned back on his arms, looking up at the sky. "Like… where we'll go. What we’ll do. Y’know, after all this."
She frowned. "You’re not leaving, are you?"
“Aren’t you?” Shanks laughed. "Nah, not yet. I just—" He hesitated, then sighed, rubbing the back of his head. "I dunno. I like being here. I love the crew. But I also wonder… will I ever have my own ship? My own adventure?"
She was quiet for a moment. Then, she nudged him with her shoulder. "You’d be a good captain."
Shanks turned to her, eyes wide. "You think so?"
She nodded. "You’re annoying, but people like you. You’re good at making things fun. And… you care. That’s important."
Shanks felt his face heat up, but he grinned. "You’d be on my crew, right?"
She hesitated, and for the first time that night, Shanks noticed something different in her expression. A shadow of something unspoken.
"...Eh."
Shanks frowned. "Why not?"
She picked at a loose thread on the blanket. "I don’t belong here." It suddenly dawned at her that she left something big at home, despite loving the sea, loving the adventures, it is not the life she was meant to have, she wasn’t meant to have freedom, she was meant to follow rules, and maybe then, she can grant people who are treated unjust by the system freedom, a heavy thought in her young mind.
Shanks tilted his head. "Because of… where you came from?" He still didn’t know anything about her past, though he had his assumptions, he rather not voice it out loud to avoid saying something wrong.
She didn’t answer, but the way her fingers tightened around the fabric said enough.
Shanks stayed quiet for a moment, then scooted a little closer. "You know, even if you don’t stay, that doesn’t mean we stop being family."
She looked up at him. "You really think that?"
He grinned. "Duh. We’re Shanks, Buggy, and," He puffed out his chest dramatically, mentioning your name last "Unstoppable. The best trio on the Oro Jackson!"
She laughed, rolling her eyes. "That’s not even true. We’re not even the second best." She thought of the grinning captain with his right and left hand. Despite not ever seeing them fight, she could feel the potential that they oozed out.
She looked at him for a long moment, then sighed and leaned her head against his shoulder. "...You’re really dumb, y’know that?"
"Doesn’t matter," Shanks said, smiling softer now. "We’re still us."
"Yeah, yeah." Shanks grinned, resting his head against hers. "But you’re stuck with me anyway."
She never did interact with kids her age, she was always training, a designated path of her’s is already forged, but she saw Shanks, he had this captivating pull, she saw him as the sun. Buggy, too.
“Forced to, actually,” She giggled, her eyes never leaving the older boy, “It was a coincidence that I’m even here in the first place,”
“Then it’s the best coincidence I had in a while,” Shanks gave her a thumbs up, a dumb grin on his face.
They were the first friends she ever had (and will have)
Her heart fluttered as she took one last look at the red hair, before laying her head on his shoulder, resting.
And under the endless stretch of stars, with the ocean rocking beneath them, Buggy’s snoring filling the air, she decided—maybe this wasn’t such a bad thing.
The truth came out in the stupidest way possible.
One day, while the Oro Jackson was docked at a quiet island, a Marine ship showed up on the horizon. Normally, this wasn’t an issue—Roger and his crew had ways of avoiding unnecessary fights. But the moment the girl spotted the Marine sails, she groaned, a slight fear in the edge of her voice.
"Ugh,” She started sweating again, she grabbed the back of Roger’s coat, seemingly trying to hide herself from the Marine ship.
Roger quirked a brow. "Afraid of some Marines, lass?” A boisterous laugh escaped his lips, his hand made its way to her back, an act to try and reassure her.
"No." She let go of the captain’s coat and hid behind a crate, taking a peek to get a better look, then muttered, "Just that ship in general.."
Rayleigh narrowed his eyes. "Who’s ship?"
"M-My old man—"
And then the Marine ship got close enough for them to see the massive dog-headed figure standing at the bow.
Vice Admiral Monkey D. Garp.
Roger and his entire crew froze, a dumbfounded gaze as they all looked back and forth towards the Marine ship coming at them with steady acceleration and the stowaway who’s been here for months hiding behind a crate.
The girl casually chomped her apple.
"Roger."
"I see him."
"Roger, that’s—"
"I see him, Rayleigh."
Roger whipped around, eyes bulging at the girl who’s currently eating her apple, his apple. "YOUR OLD MAN IS GARP?!" He shouted out, followed by a hearty laugh, it made sense now, why she blended well with the crew, her talent in using armament, he wouldn’t be surprised if she had Conquerors Haki, he knew from the first day he laid eyes on her, she had potential.
"Yup."
"THE GARP?!"
"Uh-huh. . ."
Roger let out a strangled noise somewhere between a laugh and a yell. The entire crew was staring in awe and slight dumbfoundedness, Buggy had fainted, and Shanks looked like he was reconsidering his life choices.
And then, from the Marine ship, Garp’s unmistakable voice boomed over the waves—
"ROGER, YOU DAMN BASTARD! I HEARD YOU HAVE MY DAUGHTER?!"
The girl blinked. "Huh. Guess he is mad."
And that was how Gol D. Roger learned that he had accidentally kidnapped Monkey D. Garp’s daughter.
“If he has you as his scary aunt,” Her face grimaced as Shanks drawled out, “His grandpa must be. . .”
“Exactly,” She crossed her arms, unamused by Luffy’s previous exclamation. “I don’t need you telling Luffy nonsense, he’d kill me.”
Shanks laughed, deep and genuine. “He’s got a good heart. You can’t cage a spirit like his.”
She had wanted to argue, to tell him that it was her responsibility to keep Luffy safe, that she had spent years trying to drill sense into him. But deep down, she knew it was a losing battle. Shanks saw the same thing in Luffy that she did—the unstoppable pull of the sea, the inevitable chase for freedom.
And so, she had let it happen. She had watched as Luffy declared his dream to be Pirate King, as he stared up at Shanks with admiration in his eyes. And when Shanks left, she had seen the fire in Luffy’s gaze burn brighter than ever before. Being a Marine was out the window, he was forging his path towards piracy, a dangerous path indeed.
She thinks of his brother—of sharp eyes and a sharper mind, of words laced with both warning and disappointment.
"You’re a fool," he had told her once, standing in the dim glow of a tavern, his voice steady but not unkind. "A cog in a machine that will destroy us. You see it, don’t you? You know what the Marines truly are."
She had known.
She had known since she was old enough to understand what justice really meant—or rather, what it was made to mean. She had seen the way it bent under power, how it served those who wrote the rules, how it crushed those who dared to exist outside its grip. She had watched people dear to her die for the system, a certain kind hearted captain who knew too much for his own good flashed in her mind.
And still, she had stayed.
"Come with me," he had said, offering something she wasn’t sure she deserved. "Fight for something real. We could change this world."
But she had looked at the boy sleeping soundly in the next room, his tiny hands curled into fists even in sleep, and she had made her choice.
"Luffy would be lonely."
Dragon had exhaled then, slow and measured, studying her like he was trying to understand. And maybe, just maybe, for all his ideals and his iron resolve, he had never truly known what it meant to choose family over revolution.
"A child is their parents’ weak spot," he had murmured, almost to himself.
She had watched him turn away, just like he always did. Just like his father always did.
She hated that about Garp—the way he was a Marine first, a warrior of justice before he was ever a father. She hated that he had passed that burden onto his son, that he had shaped him into someone who believed he had to leave to protect them.
And yet, for all his warnings, she saw the way Dragon’s shoulders had eased, just slightly, when she refused his offer.
Maybe, despite everything, some small part of him was relieved that Luffy wouldn’t be left alone.
Her loving gaze on her nephew as she ruffled her hair, Luffy’s smile lighting up her melancholic heart. Her loving gaze on her nephew as she ruffled her hair, Luffy’s smile lighting up her melancholic heart. His hands went straight for the newly laid straw hat on his head.
The wind carried the scent of salt and distant storms, rustling through the palm trees lining the shore. The Red Force bobbed gently on the edge of the islands, its red sails catching the golden light of the setting sun. The village was quiet now, the festivities long over, leaving only the sound of waves lapping at the dock.
The Red haired pirates had left that morning, why was the ship still here? Caved away for nobody to see?
She stood at the edge of the wooden planks, hands buried in her coat pockets, watching the pirates load the last of their supplies. She should have left already—should have turned around and walked away before this moment could happen.
But she hadn’t.
Because this was it.
The end of something she couldn’t quite name.
She had always known, deep down, that Shanks was never hers. He was never anyone’s, not really. He belonged to the sea, to the vastness of adventure, to the never-ending horizon that called him away, again and again.
And she? She belonged to something far less free.
“Not even gonna say goodbye?”
She tensed at the voice, the lazy amusement in it, the familiarity that had settled into her bones over the years.
Shanks stood beside her now, close enough that the fabric of his coat brushed against her sleeve. He wasn’t wearing it properly, of course, just draped over one shoulder like he always did. His hair was tousled from the wind, and his lips curled in that lopsided, careless smile of his.
She exhaled slowly. “Didn’t think I needed to.”
He hummed. “That cold, huh?”
She didn’t answer.
For a moment, they just stood there, side by side, watching as the crew finished their preparations. The sun dipped lower, casting everything in warm orange hues, painting the water in gold and crimson.
“I heard what you told Luffy,” she said eventually, voice even, careful.
Shanks scratched the back of his head. “Ah. That.”
She tilted her head slightly, studying him. “You really didn’t think about it at all, did you?”
The sun was setting over Foosha Village, casting long shadows across the quiet streets. The Red-Haired Pirates were finishing their preparations to set sail permanently the next morning. They docked here for almost a year, enough to forge meaningful relationships as most of the village had already said their goodbyes, sad that they were finally leaving.
Luffy, however, was still trailing after Shanks, asking endless questions as they sat outside the bar.
"Shanks," Luffy started, legs swinging over the edge of the stool he was sitting on. "Are you and Aunty together?"
Shanks, in the middle of sipping his drink, choked. He coughed violently, thumping his chest as some of the crew nearby turned to look in amusement.
"The hell, Luffy? Where’d you get that idea?" Shanks wheezed, wiping his mouth.
Luffy tilted his head. "Well, Old Man Wood Slap is with the fruit lady. They're always together, so I thought maybe you and her were the same!"
Shanks stared. Then, his face twisted like he'd just bitten into the sourest lemon on the planet.
"NO. No way. Never." He waved his hands frantically. "I don't see her like that at all!"
Luffy blinked. "Huh. Why not?"
Shanks had a teasing grin, his eyes filled with mischief. "Because she’s… you know." He gestured vaguely. "Her. She’s all serious and scary and way too Marine-y." He listed reasons he knew weren’t actual reasons. “Don’t you agree?”
"She’s not that scary," Luffy argued. “Not compared to Gramps, at least!” Luffy had always been much more afraid of Grandpa Garp’s fist of love, despite his aunt saying that it wasn’t even that bad, but what does she know!
"She lectures me more than Beckmann does!" Shanks shot back. "I’d rather fight a Sea King than deal with that for the rest of my life." A teasing laugh escaped his lips, despite the claim he had just made, his eyes were betraying him, a sense of endearment, or maybe more? Luffy, despite being a child, had always had high emotional intelligence, he felt something was off, but he couldn’t decipher it, or didn’t care enough to try.
Luffy hummed, deep in thought, before nodding. "Okay." Then he hopped off the stool and ran off.
Shanks frowned. "...Why do I feel like I just got set up?"
Later that night, she was helping Makino close up the bar when Luffy wandered in.
"Hey," he greeted, climbing up onto a stool. Luffy was here, it was late at night, it seemed he smelled a bit of smoke and maybe booze, indicating he had been with the Red Haired Pirates again. She wasn’t against the idea, at this point, she knew he’d end up a pirate, but God forbid Luffy turning into a drunkard like Shanks.
She raised an eyebrow. "Shouldn’t you be in bed?"
"Nah." Luffy rested his chin on the counter. "Hey, I asked Shanks if you guys were like Old Man Wood Slap and the fruit lady."
She froze, nearly dropping the glass she was holding. Slowly, she turned to look at him. She knew what that meant, Mayor Wood Slap was married to Mary, the old lady selling fruits near the dock, she shuddered at Luffy’s implications. "...You did what?"
"Yeah," Luffy continued, completely unfazed. "He said 'NO WAY NEVER' and that you're too scary."
She blinked. Then, after a long pause, she sighed. She didn’t know why she even thought that there would be a different answer to that.
"...Ah," she murmured, placing the glass down carefully. "I knew it."
Luffy tilted his head. "You don’t care?" He thought something was off, he could’ve sworn he saw something in both her and Shanks! He could’ve had such a cool uncle if they got together! But Luffy was young, he wasn’t aware of romance, let alone the burden romance could bring.
She gave him a small, tired smile. "I never expected anything else."
Luffy watched her for a moment, then nodded. "Okay." He didn’t care a lot, as long as Shanks is still here!
Then, as if nothing had happened, he yawned and stretched. "I’m gonna go bug Shanks before bed!"
And just like that, he ran out the door, leaving her standing there, staring at the counter with an odd mix of relief and something she couldn't quite name.
His grin faltered—just a little.
She didn’t need an answer.
Instead, she let out a soft laugh, shaking her head. “I was always temporary to you, wasn’t I?”
Shanks looked at her then, really looked at her, his expression unreadable for once.
“You’re wrong,” he murmured, his finger lightly gracing her cheeks.
She turned to face him fully, arms crossed. “Am I?”
His gaze dropped slightly, almost thoughtful. “I don’t hold onto things, you know that.” He paused. “But that doesn’t mean they don’t matter.”
Her chest tightened, a dull ache settling beneath her ribs.
It wasn’t enough. It has never been enough, they will all leave her, sooner or later. She was never enough for the people she knew, she could never make them stay.
It was the truth.
She nodded, more to herself than to him. “That’s what I thought.”
Silence stretched between them. Neither of them moved. The wind picked up slightly, ruffling his hair, making the loose ends of his coat flutter.
Finally, he sighed, shaking his head with a small, rueful smile. “Next time we meet,” he said, voice light but firm, “it’ll be out there.” He tilted his head toward the horizon, where the sky met the sea in endless possibility. “No more villages. No more land.”
She held his gaze.
And for a brief, fleeting second, she let herself wonder.
If they had met differently, if they had been different people—if the world had allowed them something more than fleeting moments and unfinished goodbyes.
But that wasn’t their story. It never had been.
She took a slow step back, the space between them stretching, shifting.
“Goodbye, Shanks.”
His smile was small this time. Not careless, not teasing. Just there.
“See you at sea.”
And then, before she could say anything else, before she could second-guess herself, she turned and walked away.
She didn’t look back.
Because if she did, she wasn’t sure she’d be able to keep walking.
Maybe one day,
Shanks was a man of the sea—untamed, unmoored, a wandering tide that kissed the shore only to slip away with the next current. No harbor could hold him, no anchor could keep him still. He was the wind in full sails, the endless horizon, a fleeting echo of laughter carried away by the waves. To love him was to love the ocean itself—beautiful, boundless, and never truly yours to keep.
She learned that the hard way.
Maybe, in another life—on a different shore, under a different sky—things would have ended differently. Maybe if she had chosen a different path, if she had let go of duty, of loyalty to a system that never truly deserved her, she could have stood beside him on the deck of his ship instead of watching him disappear into the horizon. Maybe, just maybe, there was a version of their story where she wasn’t left behind. But the sea didn’t wait for those who hesitated, and neither did fate.
Years later, long after the tides had swept away her footprints.
The Thousand Sunny swayed gently with the waves, bathed in the soft glow of the setting sun. The crew was gathered on the deck, laughter spilling into the open air, plates clattering as Sanji dished out dinner. It was a good night—warm, peaceful, the kind that made the world feel small and safe, if only for a while.
Luffy plopped down near the tangerine tree, balancing his plate on his knees. He grinned as he shoved an entire piece of meat into his mouth, cheeks puffing out like a squirrel. “Mmm! This is so good, Sanji!” he declared, voice muffled.
Sanji scoffed, flicking a cigarette between his fingers. “Of course it is, dumbass.”
Nami sighed, adjusting her seat against the mast. “At least swallow before you talk, Luffy. You’re a captain, not a wild animal.”
Luffy just laughed, smacking his hands against his thighs. “Hey, hey! Did I ever tell you guys about someone I knew who had a tree like this?” He gestured vaguely at Nami’s tangerines, his grin never wavering.
Zoro raised a brow. “What, another person you mooched food from?”
“Oi! That’s not the point!” Luffy huffed before breaking into another laugh. “She had a tree kinda like this..” He leaned back on his palms, gazing at the swaying leaves. “It was behind Mayor Wood Slap’s backyard! But it died because she couldn’t take care of it—” he snorted.
Usopp chuckled. “Sounds a lot like someone I know….”
“Yeah!” Luffy grinned wider, rocking on his heels. “She was real serious, too. Always scolding me, always looking all grumpy—but she was strong.” His eyes sparkled with something almost childlike as he spoke. “I bet if she saw me now, she’d be like, ‘Luffy, you’re such an idiot for making it this far.’”
Brook laughed, tapping his cane against the deck. “She sounds quite formidable! Where is she now?”
Luffy paused for just a fraction of a second. It was barely noticeable.
Then he shrugged, still grinning. “Dunno.”
The conversation moved on—Franky started talking about a new modification for the Sunny, Usopp began spinning a ridiculous story, and Chopper was giggling between bites of food. The laughter carried into the open air, warmth settling over them like a thick summer breeze.
Luffy stayed where he was, still looking at the tree, his smile never faltering.
Not once did he say her name.
Not once did he tell them she was gone.
Because if he did, then maybe it would make it real. And Luffy didn’t like thinking about things like that.
So instead, he laughed louder, ate more, and carried her memory in the quiet spaces between his joy—where no one could see it.

MASTERLIST
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Everyone was shaken up after the events in Marineford, still trying to process everything that had happened, without much success. It wasn’t just a lot to process but also left everyone in a shocked state that would take time to wear out. Luffy had even spent a while with the Whitebeard Pirates to ensure his brother would be alright before he had to go back to following his path. By that time, the commotion had also died within the crew itself, it was finally time to have your boyfriend all to yourself again.
The wound that once covered the center of his chest and back was now only two violent scars decorating his skin, only adding to his charm, if anything. You wondered if anything could make Ace ugly, and it was hard to determine something that would make him permanently unattractive, so you dropped it.
Ace was lying on his side with his back to you, taking yet another nap in the dark cabin that blocked the sunlight by the thick blackout curtains. Napping was something he’d been doing rather a lot, aside from the spontaneous times he would fall asleep. The Marineford event took quite a toll on him, both physically and mentally, so it was no surprise he found comfort in sleep and quietness now that the euphoria had died down. Not surprisingly, he also grew clingy after that.
A soft sigh escaped your lips as you walked over, observing the scar on Ace’s back as you sat on the bed, careful not to wake him up. His skin rose in shivers at the slightest touch upon his scar, but he didn’t even move in his sleep, continuing to softly snore away. Your heart heaved a little, but it’d been like that for so long that it was pointless to dive into sadness for longer.
Your mind didn’t leave you alone for the few seconds you kept your eyes closed, replaying parts of the Summit War, even though you’d gone through it multiple times already. It was tiring, clinging to your skin like mud that you couldn’t clean off, dragging you down, but you could still feel the normality slowly making its way back into your lives, thankfully.
Ace smelled like a mixture of your smell along with his own, which was quite characteristic, and always left a very well-welcomed lingering scent on your bed. His smell filled your lungs as you pressed your nose to the back of his ear and inhaled deeply before finally lying down with him and hugging him from behind. Only then did he groan a little, shifting a little to make himself comfortable next to you. He was warm, back moving against your chest rhythmically. It was good to feel him like that next to you, alive and well, helping you fight the feeling he would disappear in case you looked away for too long.
“Love,” Ace murmured in a whiny tone that popped your bubble and brought you back to the real world to be embraced by the warmth he made you feel. “Mmph, babe,” he whispered with a groan that dissipated into a sigh of comfort the moment you pressed a kiss to his cheek and hugged him tighter.
“Yes, my love?” You whispered against his cheek when he started stirring awake, humming drowsily as he patted around until his hand found the side of your head and kept you there to turn his head and messily kiss your face. His eyes were still closed as his lips met the space above your upper lip, and then your cheek—that was the only response you received as he gently played with your hair a little.
“I had a dream with you,” he whispered, eyes still closed, but you could tell he was a little less than half asleep by then. “We were… Uh, I forgot.”
You couldn’t help but chuckle, shaking your head, while running a hand through Ace’s messy hair strands in a fruitless attempt to push them back into place. “Okay. The fact you dreamed with me is good enough.”
Ace pouted with a hum as he shifted on the bed so that he was on his back, allowing himself to take a look at you. He finally opened his eyes and blinked until the blurred form before him turned into a clear image of you, which made him smile. “Mmph, babe,” he whispered in a happy tone that made your heart flutter.
“You’re so cute like this, all sleepy, all comfy.” Your lips parted into a grin before you kissed his cheek. “I really just want to— Damn.” Instead of fighting your urges, you just cupped his cheek and kissed all over his face until he was giggling and wrapping his arms around you, swinging one of them lazily around your neck.
“Hey, what’s that for?” Ace groaned softly and kissed your cheek a couple of times, planting kisses on the way to your lips, where he lingered for a few seconds.
“I just want to pamper my pretty boy, am I not allowed to?”
Whenever you called him ‘pretty boy’, Ace’s heart fluttered, and he felt all bubbly inside, so full of himself that he believed he could face the entire world if he really wanted to. He smiled as his cheeks gained a red tone, and he melted under the new kisses over his face.
“Sometimes I wonder if I can kiss each of your freckles,” you said as your fingertips trailed along the freckles on his shoulder; they descended for all his body and imprinted constellations upon his skin.
Ace hummed, raising one of his eyebrows at you. “Well, if you want to try… I wouldn’t be opposed to it, babe.”
“Hm, right,” you muttered with a smile, kissing his forehead. “I’ll keep it in mind.”
Just the idea of it seemed to get Ace a little eager, grinning as he allowed you to keep bathing him with compliments and caressing. He sighed and leaned into your touches, groaning when you started running your fingers through his hair again. Playing with his hair could easily drive Ace to sleep, but it wasn’t your intention, so you pulled your hand away as soon as he started closing his eyes, much to his displeasure.
“Have you eaten today?” It was a question that usually would be useless, really—his huge appetite dismissed any worry about his intake of food, but that was before the Summit War. After that, the pain and stress of carrying Roger’s blood in his hands took upon him again, and there he was, believing he didn’t deserve any care in the world. Sometimes, the guilt would still drag along the sad smiles he flashed you whenever you gave him affection, but it was growing considerably lower through time. You hoped that, someday, he wouldn’t feel like his life was a burden.
A soft hum came from Ace as he rubbed his eye, looking away, immediately snatching a sigh from you.
“Come on, Ace, love, you’re better than that.” You looked at the bedside table, noticing a tray of food sitting there. It’d probably been brought for lunch, a couple of hours ago. “Look, there’s even some ramen here. Why don’t you try it? Or do you want fresh food? You know everyone is doing their best for you, try to eat a little bit, pretty boy.” You kissed the tip of his nose, making him scrunch his nose with a small sound.
“Will you stay with me for the rest of the day?” Ace’s eyebrows knitted together as he looked at you with those eyes, enough to make your heart heavy. “You’ve been busy all day long, only checking on me now and then. I like having you around, even if I’m just napping. I like your presence.”
A sigh escaped your nose as you heard Ace, frowning a little at his words. You should’ve done better, really. “Okay,” you said with a nod. “I’ll go let Pops know I’m spending the rest of the day with you, okay? Don’t move a single finger while I go there! I’ll know if you do!”
When Ace chuckled, something stirred in your chest, spreading warmth all within it.
“Okay! But give me another kiss before you leave and more when you come back, okay?” Ace’s arms wrapped tighter around your neck, making you roll your eyes before pressing your lips to his gently. He didn’t seem to be a big fan of the light kiss, instead deepening the kiss with a soft hum, keeping your lips together until you were both out of air.

Write A Kiss Request: Roronoa Zoro (One Piece) x Reader ...a kiss out of habit
Tumblr media
(prompt list here) & 2025 Request List - requests open
...a kiss for Roronoa Zoro out of habit
You and Zoro had never meant to keep this a secret. It wasn't something you were trying to hide, or to stop the crew from ever knowing. You were both just very private people, and always the last two left at the end of the night as the rest crew all went their separate ways.
You, as much as anyone, could appreciate Zoro's desire to stay in whatever bar you were docked beside until the place was closed and the owner had to politely ask you to leave through muffled yawns. You loved the Going Merry, and all the people that lived aboard, but when you spent so much time at sea you grew to savour every minute spent on dry land in a change of scenery with someone other than Sanji fetching you whatever the local drink of the region was. You knew Zoro did too, the slight variety that a change of scenery provided gave him more joy than he would admit to anyone but you.
So you formed a little routine. The two of you would stay out until all the local places had closed, and then you'd walk the long way back to the ship, exchanging stories and admiring whatever little details you could find to ground yourselves in each quaint town. You couldn't remember exactly which island had the intricately cobbled streets that almost knocked you off your feet, but after that you and Zoro never left a bar without your hand safely enclosed in his. You were sure the night breeze was comfortingly warm the first time you noticed just how many glances Zoro threw your way as you walked, gaze flickering between your entangled hands and your moonlit lips. And you would never forget the first time that instead of the long goodbye outside your cabin door that you had grown accustomed to, he had just leant forward and placed his lips on yours. He only kissed you for a split second before he withdrew, testing the waters neither of you could bring yourselves to acknowledge, relieved when you plunged back in and dragged his lips back onto yours, fingers combing through his short spiked hair.
Without ever putting a name to your bond, you two fell into an effortless routine of those sweet good night embraces while the rest of your crew slept. It became such a fundamental part of your life that in the nights you spent at sea Zoro would still find his way to your door when the sky grew dark, neither of you able to pass a restful night without that shared moment of desperate need. His strong hands firmly holding onto you as if you could drift away, his touch-starved soul aching for you in every moment you spent apart. Zoro prayed every night as he finally tasted your loving kiss that the sensation would fill his dreams, and give him strength enough to make it to another sunset before he could kiss you again.
***
After a particularly tireless battle one evening, the crew had gathered on the deck of the Going Merry to toast to the island they had just visited with a case of wine gifted by some very grateful locals. It had been too long since the whole crew had passed a night of merriment together, Luffy and Usopp dramatically retelling the best moments of their adventures while Nami laughed on and Sanji kept everyone's glasses topped up to the brim. You and Zoro settled side by side on the makeshift benches Luffy had quickly hobbled together for the occasion, exchanging warm smiles every time your heroics of the day were recalled by the two quarreling captains. It wasn't long until you felt the flush of wine in your cheeks, and a heaviness growing in your eyelids that was getting harder to fight back.
"You look as exhausted as I am!" Nami laughed out through a yawn, Luffy bursting into laughter as you immediately followed with a yawn of your own. Your friend and navigator rose to her feet, circling to stand behind you and resting one hand on your shoulder as she said more quietly, "I think it's time we both headed to bed."
You nodded at her suggestion, suddenly feeling the ache of exhaustion spreading through your bones now that it had been pointed out.
"Great party crew! But now I must say good night." You declared dramatically, stifling another yawn that set Nami off again. Before you rose to your feet you turned to face the swordsman nestled beside you, who quickly leant forward to capture your lips in a soft and sweet good night kiss. It was just a momentary embrace, a habit that had grown necessary to both of your nights, and with that you stood up and followed Nami towards the cabins. A moment of still hung over the night as the two of you stepped through the first door separating you from the others just as Sanji and Usopp cried out in unison,
"WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?"
"Nami, did I just kiss Zoro in front of everyone?" You asked without daring to glance her way.
"Yup!" She chirped back without an ounce of shock in her voice, a far cry to the chorus of voices calling out behind you.
"Why aren't you surprised, Nami?"
"Because I've walked past you two kissing half a dozen times. Sometimes I like to make tea at night when Sanji's not around to pester me, and you two have absolutely no sense of your surroundings whenever you're together." She shrugged nonchalantly, unlocking the door across from yours.
"I'd say we won't make a habit of it.." You started your sentiment alone before Nami joined, "but it's too late for that."

Pairing: OPLA!Vinsmoke Sanji x Reader Word Count: 831 words Warnings: None
Tumblr media
reverie (noun): a state of being pleasantly lost in one's thoughts; a daydream
You imagine the thoughts in your head as a forest of kelp at the bottom of the sea: dense, beautiful, brimming with life and all too easy to get lost in.
They’ve caused you trouble in the past. Countless rapped knuckles, letters sent home to your parents, walking into trees on the way home from school. But how could you resist? Empires rose and fell over the course of an hour inside your mind, mighty beasts swore their allegiance to you and the four seas were yours to explore. The childhood you had in the real world was so dull and lonely in comparison.
When you ran off and joined the Straw Hats, you finally had the excitement you had so craved. And yet, even now, your mind still wanders.
“If you swab the deck any more, we won’t have any left, sweetheart.”
Only a select few can bring you back.
You blink rapidly, the clouds dissipating as you stop scrubbing and look up. Sanji’s already smiling when you meet his gaze.
He lifts his hands; one offers a plate of shortbread cookies, the other a glass of milk.
“I’m going to guess that you haven’t had a break in a while,” he says. “Am I right?”
A break? Sending him a perplexed frown, you lean on the handle of your scrub brush and glance over your shoulder.
The side on which you had started winks back at you from afar, wood gleaming under the afternoon sun.
Oh.
“I … I guess so,” you reply slowly, turning back to him. It’s only then that you register the saltwater washing over your feet and the ache in your muscles. “I didn’t even realize …”
He shakes his head and chuckles, leading you to some nearby crates to sit down. “Too caught up in your stories again? I’m almost jealous that they get to spend so much time with you.”
“I don’t mean to make you worry.”
“Loving someone means worrying about them from time to time.”
He winks, and you smile, flustered.
“I see,” you say quietly. “Then thank you for worrying, Sanji.”
“Of course.” He hands you the glass of milk, then picks up a cookie and taps it against your lips. “Now, this is my best batch of sablés. You have no idea how hard it was to keep Luffy from eating them all in the kitchen.”
“I have some idea,” you drawl amusedly, taking a bite.
The cookie breaks with a gentle snap. It crumbles delightfully in your mouth, sugar and butter dancing on your tongue. A pleased hum rumbles in your throat before you wash it down with a gulp of cold milk.
“What do you think?”
“I think I might eat the whole plate right now,” you say, taking the other half of the cookie.
He grins. “So you like them.”
“They’re delicious.” Picking up another one, you hold it in front of his face. “Here.”
Sanji’s gaze remains locked with yours as he leans forward to take a bite of the cookie, his lips brushing your fingertips in an impromptu kiss before he pulls away. He chews thoughtfully. The action should not look as good as it does.
“My best batch, as I’ve said,” he tells you once he swallows. “But I’ve tasted sweeter.”
You tilt your head. “Where?”
His mouth curls into a smirk, and he places his fingers under your chin to bring your face closer to his. Your noses touch and you can feel his answer against your lips as he murmurs, “Right here.”
The rest of the crew may also have the pleasure of eating Sanji’s food, but they do not share your privilege of knowing just how talented he is at kissing.
He sets down the plate and lifts his hand to cup your jaw, meeting your lips and letting out a soft sigh before pressing his lips more fervently against yours. You can taste the smoke on his tongue, a constant underneath the warm sweetness of sugar and the saltiness of butter. Your eyes flutter closed, and you reach up to cradle the back of his head, fingers tangling in his hair and tugging slightly. The groan he lets out sends tingles down to the tips of your toes.
“Sweetheart,” he pants, and the longing in his voice would’ve made your knees buckle if you were standing, “I won’t be able to stop if you keep doing that.”
You put your glass of milk down so you can bury both hands in his golden hair. Your forehead touches his. “Maybe that’s a good thing.”
“Maybe it is,” he mutters.
You bring him back in for another searing kiss that Sanji returns just as eagerly.
Yes, you value your time alone with your thoughts. They are a forest of kelp at the bottom of the sea, beautiful, countless, and wild.
But as easy as it is to get lost in your thoughts, it is infinitely easier to get lost in him.

Imagine breaking Sanji’s heart so that he joins the Strawhats…
“I told Zeff that I’m not going to be a waiter.” Sanji’s voice rose, already tense from the shouting match he had with Zeff about leaving the Baratie to follow his dreams.
“Well, you can’t be a cook here either.” You argued, fighting the urge not to throw up at the lies tumbling out of your mouth. “Why do you even want to stay if you know that?”
Sanji stared at you incredulously. “Zeff can’t run this place by himself and I wouldn’t dare to leave you. You know this.” He turned and resumed cleaning the broken plates.
You watched him work quietly. How had your innocent love transform into a flame that slowly swallowed his bridge for opportunity?
He wouldn’t leave the Baratie, Zeff failed to convince his decision and you felt your stomach drop at the realisation of what you had to do to push him over the edge.
You had to break his heart. Composing yourself, you hardened your expression, bracing for what was likely going to be your end.
“I want to be with someone who isn’t a coward.”
Sanji physically reacted to the words. The broken dishes clattered as they hit the floor while his muscles tensed under his shirt.
“Excuse me?” He frowned, looking over his shoulder.
Holding firm, you turned your bones into steel the second that you felt them going weak. As much as it hurt you, you had to hammer further.
“You’re a coward, Sanji. You call yourself a chef with dreams but when the opportunity rises, you hide behind your comforts.”
“I am not a coward.” His tone told you a nerve had been struck.
“You are. You always have been. I just ignored it while being swept by your affection. But not anymore.” You reaffirmed. “I don’t deserve someone so low.”
Picking up the towel from his shoulder, Sanji tossed it on a broken table angrily.
“No, you don’t.” He commented bitterly.
Turning on his heel, the young man stormed out of the Baratie. The only uplifting thought that crossed your mind was that he was headed in the direction of Luffy and his crew.
Now standing in the silence. The realisation of what you had said finally caught up. You had spent countless days laying in his lap dreaming of a future where you’d both sail the seas endlessly for the All Blue.
That’s all it was - a dream.
A choked sob escaped and just like that you were crying, dropping to the floor amongst the broken plates and the shattered remnants of your heart.
Zeff barged in when he heard the loud thump. Worried, the ex-pirate rushed over. He saw the tears and the shaking shoulders and his stomach dropped.
“What have you done? What did you say to him?”
“Nothing that will bring him back.” You whispered.
Zeff bent down and wrapped his arms around you to console but his comfort only forced your heartbreak to the surface. “I’ve lost him, Zeff.”
Running a hand over your back, Zeff was devastated. He was convinced that Sanji would marry you - in fact, Zeff was so convinced that he had already planned out the catering for the day and had a theme or two in mind for the decor.
All he needed was Sanji to place a ring on your finger. But as the day had unfolded, it was clear that it was merely the dream of a fool.
You had achieved what the head chef couldn’t, paying the heaviest price of all - love.

Congratulations on hitting 2k🎉🎉
I really love your writing and I’d love to see how you think the op boys would react to their s/o getting jealous you could maybe do ace law and luffy?
Characters: gn reader x Ace, Law, Luffy Cw: Put your rose-colored glasses on, folks. Because we got some red flags (cough cough Law)  Total word count: 1.6k
Jealous Reader
Ace
Ace is just being fun. He’s just too oblivious to realize the other people are flirting. He doesn’t notice the soft touches across his torso, or how they lean in closer to him every time they laugh. But you do.
“You don’t look like you’re having fun,” he said halfway through the night. “We can go, if you want.”
“Wouldn’t want to take you away from your fan club,” you spat back, venom in your words. But he either didn’t notice or he pretended not to.
“Yeah, they’re funny aren’t they?” He laughed. “They all buy me drinks whenever I tell a new story. Hospitality here is amazing!”
“Right.” You got up to leave. “Have fun with that.”
“What?” his brows furled together in confusion. “Where are you going?”
“Back to the ship.” And with that, you slammed the door closed.
A few seconds later, he’s racing after you into the crowded street.
This man has no idea what he did wrong, but he’s trying to make it right.
He abandons everyone in that bar without even a goodbye, and as his fingers lace through yours, you can’t help but feel a little better about that.
He kisses your cheek and follows you closely, not wanting you to get away from him. He knows you all need to talk, but he also knows this crowded street isn’t the place to do it.
When you all get back to your room, you try to break away from him, but he pulls you into an embrace, strong warm arms wrapping around you.
“You’re the only one I have eyes for, you know that right?” he said, rubbing your back lightly.
“Didn’t feel like it tonight,” you mumbled harshly.
“Well you are.” He tilted your face up so he could cover it with kisses. “I just use those people to get free drinks.”
“I know,” you whispered, leaving your head against his chest to hear his heartbeat. “Doesn’t make it any easier to watch though.”
“Okay.” Ace kissed the top of your head. “Won’t do it anymore.”
You looked up at him, surprised. “Really?”
“Of course!” He kissed your lips now, gently reminding you that he was all yours. “Your feelings aren’t worth some free booze.”
Law
Of course this woman was some fancy doctor. Of course Law had read her book. All her books. And now he had been gone from your all’s table for almost thirty minutes to talk to her.
She wasn’t just polite. She was friendly. Overly friendly. You had watched as she had scooted closer and closer to your boyfriend, minimizing the gap between their bodies.
Finally, you couldn’t take it anymore. You got up from your seat and ignored the snickering of Shachi and Penguin from the table.
“Law, dear.” You gave a strained smile to him and the woman. “I hate to rush you, but we’re kind of on a schedule.”
Law stood, still staring at the woman. “Wow! The time really flew by. Thanks for letting me pick your brain.”
“Oh doctor,” the woman cooed, a seductive smile on her face. “The pleasure was all mine. Feel free to find me any time you want to have a…chat”
“Thanks for being patient,” Law said as the two of you walked away. “It’s not often I-”
“Let’s go,” you said to the others as you walked past the table, not pausing for a moment. “The captain made us late.”
You don’t use “Captain” often. And based on your tone, Law had to guess he was in trouble.
The snickers from Shachi and Penguin weren’t helping either. They had surely watched you become more and more irritated as time went on, so they had a pretty good idea of what was going on,
“Can you give me some pointers? Any warnings?” Law mumbled to his crewmates, desperate to get a read on your emotions.
“You don’t know what you did?” Penguin asked as Shachi burst into laughter, causing all three of them to receive a glaring look from you
When you got back to the Polar Tang, you made a beeline for your bedroom. Law didn’t follow. He assumed you needed a bit to cool off. Plus he wanted to check out another book from the woman he had just met.
After a few hours, Law rubbed his drooping eyes, and finally decided to see you again. He still had no idea why you were so upset.
You were asleep in the bed, but you had built a pillow divider between his side in yours. He rolled his eyes and quickly pulled the pillows away, curling into you.
You tried to push him away, proving you weren’t asleep, but he wouldn’t let you.
“Can you tell me why you have such an attitude?”He was irritated, and you laughed at the irony. You were the one who was supposed to be irritated, not him.
“Why don’t you go ask that famous doctor since you care about her more than-”
He scoffed, cutting you off. “You can’t be serious.”
You stared at him for a long moment, and then turned away from him, pouting at his words.
“I’ve read her books, that’s all. Can you stop acting like a child with this petty jealousy?”
His words tipped you over the edge. “I’ll stop acting like a child when you treat me like an equal!” you yelled. You rose to your feet and quickly strode out the door, slamming it behind you.
Oh, he really fucked up now. His tongue was always getting him in trouble.
He scoured the Polar Tang, searching for you. He finally found you on the couch and curled up next to you.
“I’m sorry,” he whispered. “That was really insensitive of me to say. If the situation were reversed, I would be upset too. I’ll do better in the future, okay?”
You gave him a slight nod, and he quickly shambled you both back to the bed to get some much-needed sleep.
Luffy
“Oh, Hancock is coming, right?!” Luffy asked. “I like her!”
“And we all know how she feels about you,” you mumbled under your breath. Your comment sparked laughter from Nami, causing Luffy’s attention to drift over to you.
“What’s funny?” He asked. “I want to be in on the joke!”
“Nothing,” you grumbled. You could see Boa Hancock’s ship in the ocean, and your stomach churned with dread. “Sanji, do you need any help in the kitchen?”
Working with Sanji had been a bad idea. Boa Hancock was beautiful. And while you could hear her fawning over your boyfriend on the deck, Sanji fawned over her in the kitchen
It was only thirty minutes before you gave up and retreated to your room. You were in a bad mood, but this was a celebration, and you didn’t want to ruin it.
Luffy entered the kitchen looking for two things: Meat and you. “Sanji! Y/N-hey, where are they?”
Sanji shrugged. “Said they weren’t feeling well. Not sure.”
Luffy headed to your all’s room. Now that he thought about it, you had been off. You hadn’t been chatty or smiled most of the day, and he was starting to get worried you were really sick.
As you heard the turn of the doorknob, you quickly wiped away your stray tears. But your eyes were still red and puffy.
“Oh man!” Luffy sat down next to you on the bed, staring at your face. “Your allergies are terrible! You should’ve told me, we could’ve moved to another season ecosystem!”
His idiocy made you let out a garbled laugh, trying to hide your true feelings about the party.
“It’s fine,” you said, shaking your head. But your bottom lip trembled, giving you away.
“You’ve been crying.” He stated it as a fact, not a question. He knew you too well for you to hide your tears for long. He smushed your cheeks together and held your face so you couldn’t avoid his gaze any longer. “Did Sanji make you cry?”
“No.” You tried to pull away from his grip, but he clamped down on your cheeks so you couldn’t escape. He wouldn’t let you leave his gaze until he figured out what was wrong.
While you were here alone with him, all your worries felt so silly. Luffy didn’t even realize Hancock was in love with him. If you brought it up now, you’d be causing a big scene.
“It’s stupid,” you whispered, but he only frowned at you. He opened his mouth to say something.
“Luffy!” Hancock called from behind the door, interrupting his thoughts. “Are you in there? Should I come in?”
You rolled your eyes at her voice. Of course she came to find him. He had been gone for too long, and he was the only reason she was here.
You tried to hide your disdain for the empress, but Luffy caught it, and his eyes widened. “You don’t like her!” he whispered.
“Luffy, can we not do this right now?” you hissed, and the door opened.
“Oh!” Hancock blushed seeing you and Luffy so close, but she glared daggers at you. “I didn’t realize you were with someone, Luffy.”
Luffy’s eyes slid between you and her, trying to figure it out. He was so close to the revelation, but he just couldn’t get there.
The three of you rejoined the party reluctantly, but Luffy kept you close to him for the rest of the night.
He’s always been a physical touch person, and tonight you were grateful for it. He was always holding your hand or had his arm wrapped around you. He stayed close, and even though you got death stares from Hancock, at least you had Luffy by your side to make it more manageable.
