She has a cute heart shaped birthmark around her yes, and a similar health condition to Dipper and her late mother. So Demetri thought she was the perfect choice to care for his child while he’s at work. And to help make sure she stays healthy.

She’s very tender and soft, never raises her voice even when she’s very angry. Instead you’ll get the coldest glare from her good eye you can possibly get.

She has no active interest in relationships as she is aro/ace, but the girl enjoys a good shag every now and again. It’s more like exercise and a way to release pent up frustrations for her. So feel free to be as rough as you want, she can take it.

Sean Kavanagh had a secret: An Irish family full of traditions dark enough that once he was grown, he fled and moved to Maine, intent on putting everything behind him to protect himself. One blissful marriage, a home in Augusta, and three sons later, he thought it would never come to light. But he couldn’t quite escape his family’s ways after his daughter, Regan, was born. His separation from his family then became about protecting her, too, keeping her from becoming a monster like his mother.

Death had a way of clinging to some people, and Regan knew that better than almost anyone. She could never explain how she kept finding dead animals while she played outside with her brothers, or what made her come running back home with a human toe after a day at the beach. Sean saw the signs, especially after Regan’s early proclamations of becoming a Medical Examiner. It was so much death – could he really keep the family secret from her? He doubled down, ensuring Regan lived the most risk-free life possible. But her plan to become a doctor and pursue the field of forensic pathology held strong. She breezed through anything she put her mind to, including medical school, to which she dedicated her heart and soul. 

Regan had only briefly been working as a Medical Examiner in Kennebec county when she came face to face with her father’s secret. Though Sean had tried to run from his traditional banshee family, Fate caught up with him in the form of Cliodhna, Regan’s grandmother. Cliodhna was waiting for her granddaughter, and explained that she was a relative here to see her father. And finally, after so many years, Sean Kavanagh fulfilled his duty at the end of a knife, simultaneously bestowing Regan with her birthright. Cliodhna was the only one who could fix her late-blooming granddaughter. It wasn’t what Cliodhna had in mind for her Regan – hardly ceremonial enough – but it would have to do. Cliodhna whisked a terrified Regan away. She would be in the right place now, and with the right people, in an aos sí near Dublin called Saol Eile.

For the first couple of years with the banshees, any attempts at explanations and forgiveness slid off of an inconsolable Regan. She didn’t believe any of it, couldn’t work through the trauma of what she saw and what she was. But if nothing else, she knew she needed control. The screaming kept happening, and it had the potential to be lethal. Regan saw no other option than to submit herself entirely to the torture that masqueraded as training, which her grandmother insisted was the only way, the right way to gain control. She lived for the principle of primum non nocere. So instead of risking the harm of others, she harmed herself and her psyche, clawing through years of unspeakable miseries and emerging as a husk of her former self who had hard-won control, in a kind of death that left no cadaver to autopsy. To add insult to injury, she made a terrible banshee. Little came naturally due to her late introduction to all of this, and her grandmother’s approval was nonexistent. She wasn’t a late bloomer; she didn’t bloom at all.

The bright spot was that the banshees lacked a true physician until now, so she served the health of others in the aos sí with more gusto than she served Fate. Remaining a doctor gave her a purpose beyond the ones Cliodhna attempted to instill, tethering her to her old life.

It was her brother Reilly who eventually tracked her down. He managed to convince her brainwashed sister to follow him back to Maine, even though her training wasn’t nearly finished. It would fix everything! Reilly pointed out the opening for a Medical Examiner in Wicked’s Rest, and eventually departed when he trusted Regan would keep healing on her own. But Regan couldn’t fit in or connect with humanity anymore, only the dead. Time and persistence did their thing. Slowly, very slowly, she formed a web of connections that mattered to her, and Wicked’s Rest really did become home.

Until Siobhan. Another banshee, an exile with her own agenda that involved retrieving Regan for Saol Eile. Regan finally agreed to go so as not to harm the friends she had made and the woman she came to love, but Wicked’s Rest followed her to Ireland both literally and figuratively. As Cliodhna attempted to break Regan one last time, Regan fought back, pushing her grandmother into Saol Eile’s revered tar pit, where Cliodhna would spend years slowly sinking to her death. The ensuing trial saw Regan sentenced to remain there for 100 years, and have her wings removed. That didn’t happen – with help from her friends (and Siobhan...) Regan earned a newfound sense of freedom and could return home. But now that she’s rejected her duty and mostly escaped punishment, she isn’t so sure who or what she is anymore. Not a banshee. Could she be a human again? Her slipping control over her abilities, now that she’s choosing her own way, might mean otherwise.

As a Medical Examiner, Regan has vast knowledge of forensic pathology and death investigation. Outside of forensic pathology, she is a competent doctor, though really prefers working with the dead. She is familiar with fae (banshee, mostly) physiology and spent time treating them in Ireland.

Regan has three brothers, named Reilly, Alvin (Al), and Liam. She’s the youngest of the four, though born the same year as Al. She’s close with Reilly, often the voice of reason among bickering siblings.

Given Regan’s years of particularly intensive, brutal, and at times brainwashing training, she has fine control over her abilities when she’s focusing and giving in to the training and methods she was taught with. However, her control comes with great personal sacrifice, and she recently stopped making those sacrifices. 

While Regan has seen enough of banshees to understand there’s a lot in the world that doesn’t yet have a scientific explanation, and she’s seen more and more over time, she’s a skeptic. She wants to understand everything, and disapproves of some common word choices like “magic”. 

Regan has large cicada-like wings that lie flat against her back, with green venation and transparent membranes. They function but she doesn’t like them by association. She can’t glamour them herself and has necklace to help out.

During her “immersion” years in Saol Eile, Regan has become fluent in Irish, and picked up a slight lilt, though not enough to be considered an accent.

when rory was born, it wasn’t exactly under the best circumstances. her parents were technically already divorced and seeing other people, but she has never considered herself the product of an affair considering they fully got back together about a month after her birth. as a result, rory is a big believer in love finding a way to persevere. some may consider her aggressively optimistic about fate.

Whitney had spent her entire life fixing things. Like the gears of a machine, she had to keep things running smoothly and efficiently, if not for herself, then for her younger sister, Angie. Though Angie was only younger than her by two and a half years, it had always been Whitney who took on the heavy-lifting. Their dad died when when they were both young, which left her mother to watch both of them. Only, without her husband in her life, Mrs. Underwood fell apart and turned to the bottle on a nightly basis. When their mother broke windows, televisions, and furniture in a drunken stupor, Whitney fixed it. When their mother was unable to get a job, Whitney paid the bills. When their mother yelled abuse to Angie, she was there to comfort her sister. Whitney was the one who kept everything together. When she turned 18, she didn’t register to vote or buy a lottery ticket— she filed for emancipation. With her mother slowly drinking herself to death and Angie just trying to survive high school, Whitney had to make ends meet by taking a job with Geek Squad.

It wasn’t long after Whitney’s 18th birthday that her mother died. There wasn’t much in the way of inheritance, but what little they had combined with scholarships was enough to get both her and Angie the student loans they needed to go to college. As residents of White Crest, the least expensive and most logical choice was to attend UMWC, where Whitney majored in Engineering. Angie would join her there two years later as a Psychology major. The fact she managed to essentially raise both herself and her sister became a great source of pride for Whitney, as she continued to work during her college years. Things got even better when she graduated and had a pay raise, courtesy of her shiny new degree. Yeah, they may not have been dealt the best hand, but despite their hardships, the two of them were happy and grateful for what they had.

One mistake nearly cost them everything. Whitney couldn’t remember the specifics, but she knew that when she woke up in the woods, half a mile from the nearest road, with her skin covered in scratches and her clothes in tatters, something horrible had happened. She looked at her phone. 5% charge and the date was wrong – it was 2 days ahead. Or so she thought. Whitney called her sister, who burst into tears when she heard her voice, and learned that she had been gone for 48 hours and declared missing. Her face was plastered on the local news. She told the authorities she simply got lost in the woods, and the search was called off, but that was hardly the end of whatever had happened. Whitney felt different. Probably because she was different. She no longer had a heartbeat and her senses had increased in acuity. Angie sensed something was off, too. Whitney was normally the first one to jump to internet research in order to find answers she needed, but when it came to her new condition, she was in way over her head. She quickly found out that she was now weakened by sunlight, and that combined with her being undead gave her more than enough to go on. At least she didn’t drink blood, right?

This thing, whatever it was, sucked, but they had to keep on trucking. She had Angie to take care of, and just because her life was over didn’t mean her life had to be over. Whitney got a job working for the town as an electrical engineer. She had plenty of experience fixing things, and she found working on the grid came naturally to her. Though it was a little surprising how extensive White Crest’s sewer system was. There was, of course, the additional benefit of being underground during the day, where she didn’t have to worry about direct sunlight. It wasn’t where she saw herself working while she was back with the Geek Squad, but it was a life.

Between her mother’s behavior and her father’s new, better family, Shelley grew up with the belief that she was unlovable. Her grandparents gave her all the love they had, but it wasn’t enough to fill the parent-shaped hole in her heart. Despite her parental issues, Shelley was never bitter towards others. She had a good sum of people she called friends and had good grades at the private school her grandparents sent her to. Once she graduated high school, she was able to get a scholarship to a private university in New York. Though she loved being in New York, she was unable to afford living there longterm and was unable to find a job with only a bachelor’s in history, so she returned to live with her grandparents in Greensville. Now that they were older and could no longer work, Shelley needed to get a job to help out with bills. While working as a Starbucks barista, she met Colin Bassett, the first and only love of her life. The two hit it off almost instantly and it wasn’t long before they began dating. Once Colin was able to become a full-time DJ at Rain n’ Bows, Greensville’s local night club, he was able to get her a waitressing job there. The two had a happy relationship for two years before they began fighting over issues, particularly the issue of having children. While Colin wanted to be a father, Shelley wanted nothing to do with motherhood, fearing that she would turn out to be as horrible as her mother was. The two ended things at the end of 2018, but because they both work at the club, they still see each other nearly every day. Though she has thought of quitting just to avoid him, she desperately needs the money, she likes her bosses and other coworkers, and this is the highest paying job she’s ever had, so for now she’ll have to endure the awkwardness.

Personality: Darcy is a very outgoing, stubborn, and at times a reckless person. There isn’t much of anything that scares her and honestly looks for what does. It’s not that Darcy feels invincible, she knows damn well she’s not, she’s just...looking for a feeling she hasn’t felt before and doesn’t want to stop until she finds it. Darcy also has a knack for dropping whatever she’s doing if someone needs her help and gets very annoyed - scratch that, she gets so very pissed when she’s told it’s an emergency when it’s not.

Special Talents: Darcy is a Shifter like Sam and can hear thoughts upon touch like MJ. However, Darcy can only shift into creatures she has touched and can control whether or not she hears a person’s thoughts upon touch. Darcy is also able to ‘null’ her mother’s and Sookie’s abilities when they touch, and if Darcy is touching MJ while MJ is touching another then MJ doesn’t hear the other person’s thoughts. Outside of her abilities, Darcy is a talented ballet dancer and mixologist. 

Who they like better: Her mother, for sure. Sam is so very overprotective of Darcy and doesn’t let her get away with half the things MJ does.

Who they take after more: Darcy is definitely a blend of both her parents - the good and the bad. 

Personal Head canon: Darcy loses writing utensils in her hair or behind her ears. When she’s writing she’ll stick them in her pony tail or behind her ear and completely forget they’re there.
