Hi! Thanks so much for visiting my blog. My name is Rose Aiko Hamada, and my dads are Fred and Tadashi Hamada (yes, the famous inventor) and I have an older brother named Danny. 1. A summer trip they think of fondly: Before starting high school, Ruby, Drew (her twin brother), and their parents took a trip to Tokyo, Japan. Ruby loved it because she not only got to learn more about her culture, but she also got to see so many new things. Plus, she got to go to Disneyland Tokyo! The only thing she didn’t enjoy was the humidity

2. Their favorite Disney Princess: Mulan, hands down. Ruby loves seeing someone similar to her who would do anything for her family and is a bicon! Also, her with a sword? Hot!

3. The first song they would dance to with their partner at their wedding: So we all know that Santana doesn’t like to show a lot of vulnerability, but she would for Ruby. Which is why Ruby picks I Belong In Your Arms by Chairlift as their song because it reminds her of Santana’s softer side

4. If they have tattoos or piercings: Ruby has about three piercings on each ear, and she has a little devil emoji tattooed on her ankle in honor of Santana

5. The scariest moment in their life: Seeing Kurt bullied the way he was by Karofsky terrified her because she feared for his life, as well as her own because if this could happen to one of the most outspoken people she has ever met, whose to say it won’t happen to her?

6. If they would break the law: Oh absolutely, 100% hands down Ruby would break the law because she’s chill like that and has no respect for the authorities

a story told in pieces: part 1 | hamada bros' interlude | part 2 | part 3 | your POV #: 2 idiots mutual pining, fluff, misunderstanding, tadashi is here and in full nerd geek dork goofiness (loser simp tadashi), genderneutral (i try) omni perspective, no beta we die like tadashi uhhh yeah we just die; all in some 2k words (TW/ high word count for people whose attention span is fried from tiktok)

(•---•) tadashi hamada wouldn't say he was a casanova or anything of that sort. of course, he was well-respected on campus and the object of many's affection-- and one might argue thus he has the right to assert himself as such, but such an argument would be incorrect. you see, he lacked an important part: the confidence to go after what he wants.

off campus, he takes on the responsibility of helping aunt cass run the lucky cat cafe along with hiro. in his almost-decade long tenure at the cafe he had come across and interacted with many an interesting and enigmatic figure, but none of them were as peculiar, curious, and eye-catching as you.

you became a regular of the cafe some years back, and naturally because of his feelings, he remembered your order around your first few revisits— a matcha latte with sweet foam, light sugar and extra matcha. he would never admit it— not to aunt cass and hiro, and certainly not to you (you cant ogle customers!)— that he was indeed staring at you every time you came in and that the register was, in his experience and opinion, the best angle to admire your beauty: the way the sun shed light on your face on sunny days, rose dusting your cheeks and your eyelashes charmingly framing your gleaming eyes, the way you looked out the window on cloudy and rainy days, as if longing for something and deep in thought— it was much too excessive and overstimulating, and thus words alone would simply do an injustice to you in describing the beauty of it all.

there were too many an instance where his eyes would linger on you for a moment too long while he was making drinks or drying dishes. many of these instances, either aunt cass had to gently wake tadashi up from his daydreaming, or he would be interrupted by hiro yelling at him for overspilling the milk into the drink shaker. he's contemplated approaching you for anything other than delivering your order to your table, but even the thought of just approaching you made his heart race and a knot form in his throat.

thus, he's never spoken much to you beyond basic formalities that a cafe employee is expected to show to their customers; but a part of him, poorly restrained and hidden, desperately yearned to approach you—say something, anything, to get to know you.

today, just like always, the jingle of the bells by the door announced your arrival. however, what was different was that you brought someone along with you. this instantly rubbed tadashi a certain way he didn't like— he felt a certain way that he couldn't identify nor label. he didn't mean it in the creepy way, but in the many days he's ogled and observed you he's very rarely seen you bring anyone with you to the cafe, if ever. the two of you took a seat at a table near the window of the cafe by the door.

today, just like always, he has to "woman up!" and muster up his courage to approach your table. "hello! will it be the usual for today?" he addresses you first, slightly stumbling in his words.

however, today, he also has to collect himself in front of you and stop his feelings for you from showing on his face. "that's okay tadashi. actually today we were thinking of getting the couple set!" you replied after flipping through the menu and landing on the item you mentioned. it's a set of heart-shaped souffle pancakes topped with cheese foam, powdered sugar and fruits that come with cups of latte, matcha or coffee.

his heart dropped at the order. honestly, he didn't even know that was an item on the menu until you guys flipped to the page. you sure said that with a gleeful inflection... he sure wishes he was the one sharing it with you right now. he was lucky enough to know your name— and only your name for sure, everything else was pure observation and speculation— only because without customers' names, the cafe would lose track of customers' orders otherwise. he mentally kicks himself for his romantic cowardice.

regardless, he swallows the small knot in his throat and forces a smile, scribbling down the order on his notepad. "so that's a couple set for the both of you... will that be matcha or coffee for the drinks?"

"one matcha, one coffee please."

"will that be all for today?"

"that will be all, thank you so much tadashi." you replied sweetly, smiling at him.

your small smile alone is too much for him. not to mention your delightful and sweet voice, your mannerisms, the way you—tadashi moves quickly towards the counter of the cafe, then disappearing behind cat-print curtains that secluded the kitchen from general view and the rest of the cafe.

as the cafe wasn't very busy at this time of the day, tadashi returned to your table with your orders faster than expected.

donning a beige and brown-accented apron with paw prints, a notepad and pen stuffed in one of the pockets of the apron, tadashi was...sightly, to say the least—he somehow made working at a cafe look endearing. his cheeks were slightly pink, his smooth and soft skin dusted with powdered sugar, his dark, straight brows slightly furrowed as he balances the plates carrying your orders in his hands before politely setting it down on the table. let's just say the souffle pancakes weren't the only snacks available this afternoon.

"...the matcha, and the coffee." he noted briefly before setting each iced latte down. "please let me know if you guys need anything. please enjoy." tadashi says shyly with a slight smile before quickly returning to the main counter of the cafe and disappearing. you smile, thanking him.

as tadashi stocked cutlery, containers and drinkware, he couldn't help but overhear the fun you were having with the person you brought today. after all, it was quite slow for the cafe right now, and the only few people here were you, your companion, him, and aunt cass who was in the back.

"and so then..." you trailed off with your companion, chatting, giggling and gossiping over various things. you two exchanged sips of each others' drinks. you even slapped them on their arm in a fit of laughter. you sure seemed to be having fun with them. tadashi made sure to turn his back towards the both of you as the two of you talked about, well, whatever the fuck you two were talking about, because that wasn't important to him. what was important was that you became someone else's before he ever got to court you—actually no, he had all this time up until now to court you, but he never because of his cowardice and lack of experience.

and so he beats himself up again. he couldn't afford to show you...whatever it was that he was feeling, and he reprimanded himself for it. how could he feel...whatever this was... over you? you were never his in the first place—he simply got too attached to one specific regular. and he scolded himself again. (maybe don't get attached and ogle customers. this is so bad. what was i thinking? why did i even do that in the first place? how did i even think it was okay? but they're just so pretty—oh jeez, it's actually over. i have to get over it. it's better to get over this than accidentally do something and make them hate me. or maybe i could just—)

"hey tadashi, could we get the check please?" you stood up from the table, your voice, music to his ears, breaking his train of thought. apparently he'd been lost in thought for longer than since the two of you had long finished your pancakes and drinks.

"o-oh yeah! sure! actually i'll help you over here." tadashi looks up, stumbling over his own words and slightly embarrassed that you had to catch him while he was thinking those things of you. he swears inside and hopes he didn't make any weird faces while he was thinking about you.

at the register, he taps on a screen a few times and helps you with the transaction, handing you your receipt. he shudders a bit as his hand slightly grazed yours as he handed the piece of paper to you.

but he couldn't keep it up any longer. he's held his composure for what felt like an eternity and more, and it was slowly slipping away and leaking. desperation, curiosity and need-to-know clawed at his throat and a question fell out of his previously tightly pursed lips. "a... friend..of yours?" he hesitated.

"yeah. they mean a lot to me, so i thought i'd show them one of my favorite places in the city." you explained, slightly taken aback at tadashi taking an interest in you and your companion since the two of you never went further than the 'please's and the 'thank you's, the typical polite formalities between a cafe employee and a customer.

like one of those insane slice-of-life anime scenes, he has to maintain his composure while he screeched internally. (oh my god that person means a lot to them they said it themself just now it's actually over for me i have no chance i'm cooked—)

"huh," his brows slightly knit together, processing your words and struggling to form a response. "yeah i just noticed since you're usually here alone."

(oh shit. am i a creep?) things were clearly starting to get out of hand for tadashi now. the combination of his composure slipping and the two of you engaging in conversation longer than ever before is making him spill.

"you notice me?" you blink. your face warms, your eyes widen in surprise and your lips spread in happy surprise. as much as tadashi had kicked and beat himself internally today, seeing such a delightful and charming little expression on your face was, to the desperate him, a rare win in all the losses he took today. your eyes were so much more beautiful up close and your eyelashes were so much longer and prettier than he could ever make out.

(i'm losing it it's actually over i'm sooo cooookeddddd—)

"oh well it's just that you are a regular and stuff—" he stammered, flustered and mentally trying to reach for something, anything, to play it cool. even his stammering, flustered, uncomposed and off-guard reaction is cute.

"huh. everything was very delicious, as usual. i gotta get to showing them around the city. thank you for everything tadashi, i'll catch you some time later!" you thank tadashi with another one of your bright, warm smiles that catch tadashi off guard, warming him from the sea of his cold thoughts. you shove your receipt into your pockets and hurriedly turned your back towards him, rushing to leave the door and meet with your companion.

(oh my god they don't want to talk to me anymore they'd rather be with their very important person instead)

tadashi is left standing at the counter, alone and quite frankly, the most internally conflicted and overstimulated he has ever been in the entire history of interacting with you. in the span of only a few moments that covered seconds, if not a minute in real time, he's felt abject dejection, desperation, hopelessness, warmth, adrenaline and a racing heart, all at once. "oh...thank you for your patronage, as usual. see you around." he says to himself dejectedly.

he walks to the table you two were just seated at and collects the neatly stacked plates and glasses to process and clean at the sink. he rolls up the sleeves of his cardigan and gets to work. now his composure has fully slipped in a cafe filled with nobody, moping alone as he scrubbed at the dishes.

"i'm scrubbing cheese and wishing i were somebody else. how sad can this get?"

A few things I want to mention before I reveal the bracket (and make the post really long because all the matchups will be listed in text):

Seeding of fictional characters in tumblr polls is inherently subjective. I did try to make it so that more popular characters/media would (most likely) face off against each other in later rounds, but I may be overestimating or underestimating the popularity of some characters/media, especially ones I'm not familiar with. There are some round 1 matchups that are probably a closer match but none of them are between the strongest candidates... I think.

The more niche characters will probably get obliterated in the first round as per Squimbus' Law. This is a tumblr poll and I do fully expect more popular characters to sweep, but that doesn't mean you can't encourage your friends to give your niche faves a fighting chance.

Afterword

So, this is the end of BLOOD+ Romanov Arc, Beans Bunko edition.

Before I began writing, I had the opportunity to visit the I.G Exhibition held in Shibuya. Those who attended might remember that the life-sized Chevalier figure was particularly eye-catching. I had already thought, after seeing the footage from the first screening, that the Chevalier looked scary and unsettling. But since it was a life-sized figure, I thought I'd experience it from Saya’s perspective and crouched down in front of it without worrying about onlookers.

"Seeing it like this, imagining the battle in my mind, looking up... it’s really terrifying."

Reflecting on Saya’s journey, she learns about her hidden origins during the harsh Russian winter and is thrust into battle before she can even recover from the shock. She is left with only Haji as her reliable ally, and she feels responsible for dragging him into the conflict. The situation is incredibly overwhelming.

I wanted to give Saya and Haji at least a moment of true peace and happiness. In my portrayal of Saya, she ended up becoming more of a regular girl, dealing with doubts and fears, rather than an otherworldly figure. I wonder if it would have been better if she had remained more transcendent. I hope this doesn’t detract from the enjoyment of the anime.

When I write, I often become so absorbed that I can’t think of anything else and rarely go out, so I use baths as a form of relaxation. Whenever I get stuck, I take a bath. I also cry over my inadequacies in the bath and sing "Moments" by Hamada Shinya, which I’ve decided is Haji’s song, while in the bath (I apologize to the neighbors!).

Having finished this story just before potentially causing a neighborhood disturbance, I feel a bit sad knowing I won’t be writing about Saya and Haji anymore.

Working on BLOOD+ and being involved with Saya and Haji has been both challenging and incredibly fulfilling.

Lastly, I would like to express my thanks and apologies. # SUMMARY:

The afterword begins by marking the end of the BLOOD+ Romanov Arc in the Beans Bunko edition. The author reflects on their experience before beginning the writing process, recalling a visit to the I.G Exhibition in Shibuya. There, the most striking exhibit was a life-sized Chevalier figure. Initially, the author was intimidated by the sight of the figure, feeling uneasy about its imposing presence. However, driven by curiosity and the desire to understand Saya’s perspective, the author crouched in front of the figure to experience the scene from her viewpoint. top ten smartest characters in BH6, my ranking:

1- Hiro Hamada. Of course he’s at the top, lol. Not only did he outsmart Obake, he also came up with everyone’s hero gear, coded Baymax’s other chips besides Tadashi’s, made a working energy amplifier (that didn’t immediately explode) in like two days with only Krei’s failed prototype to go off of, and HE IS IN SFIT AT 14. Of course he’s the smartest. Also he’s made other robots completely on his own like the microbots and Mini-Mac. He also comes up with most of the battle plans for BH6, and helped cure Liv Amara alongside Karmi.

2- Obake/ Bob Aken. First off, he was also in SFIT as a teen. My headcanon was that he started attending at 16, and Karmi’s like a week younger than him (so she’s technically still the 2nd youngest person to ever go to SFIT). Also!! He was the FIRST to make an energy amplifier, with absolutely nothing to go off of. His was the first, and honestly I wouldn’t be surprised if Krei’s amplifier was based off of Obake’s amplifier. Yes the amplifier exploded immediately but he was still the first. And of course, as an adult, he made a shit ton of advanced tech. He made Trina, the most advanced AI in the whole BH6-verse (even better than Baymax because she’s basically indistinguishable from a human and can make her own decisions outside of her original purpose), he made an underwater base, a bunch of other robots, and was able to follow Shimamoto’s clues to rebuild the star machine. Also he managed to play Hiro and the rest of BH6 like a damn violin and would have succeeded if it wasn’t for Globby.

3- Honey Lemon. Honey Lemon is a goddamn genius and I will die on this hill. Her chem-purse has the INDIVIDUAL ELEMENTS. So in battle, she has to legitimately think up and type in a chemical formula to make the compound to use. So she’s gotta have some MAJOR chemistry skill, an excellent memory, and wicked fast reaction time. She also found a way to cure Globby. Also let’s not forget that time she made a literal amnesia serum in like two minutes for Hiro to give to Karmi when she thought that Karmi was onto them. Also, she did uncover Lenore Shimamoto’s secret life as a scientist alongside Wasabi, and Lenore hid that shit really well.

4- Tadashi. Honestly, Tadashi and Honey Lemon are almost tied for third, but Honey Lemon’s a little smarter. He probably got into SFIT early too, cause he couldn’t have been that old. He was probably in at like 17 and died at 20. Also, he made Baymax, one of the most advanced AIs to ever exist, plus the actual robot is rlly advanced too. So just for building Baymax, he can have this spot, because of how advanced Baymax is. Although running into a burning building was kind of a dumb move.

5- Karmi. Karmi’s actually pretty gifted and you all are unnecessarily hating on this poor girl. She’s 16 and at SFIT, and while my headcanon is that she only got in a week younger than the third youngest student, she’s still the second youngest to ever go to SFIT. She also was able to observe BH6 close enough to write moves that could actually work with their gear, which allowed them to escape Momakase and save Karmi herself. Also, she’s made some epic tech. She made the patches to subdue Oreo Knox, which Di Amara later used for her own evil work. She also did that project with the electric currents in the roses, which probably has some pretty interesting uses. She also got chosen to be Di’s intern, and although she got manipulated big time, I can’t say I blame her or say she’s any less smart for literally being mutated and tortured by a woman she thought was her friend and mentor. Also, Hiro would have never gotten the nanobots to work and cure Liv Amara without Karmi’s help and insight. She also made that glove in Season 3 to beat Hardlight. In short, Karmi is way smarter than the fandom gives her credit for.

6- Gogo. Gogo’s actually quite smart and she’s come up with some interesting things. Her maglev tech is really advanced and gives her an extra edge in battle. She also was the first to catch onto the fact that Karmi had a point with her fanfic and was the first to start using Karmi’s ideas to drive up the wall to chase Momakase. She also came up with that train thing we saw her with the model of in CtC pt 1, which I assume is her midterm project. The world can always use more high-speed rail so she’s quite smart in my book for that. She also of course worked with Hiro to make that awesome bike she chased Mr Sparkles with in S2. Plus she’s in SFIT, which is a really challenging environment on its own so she’d have to be really smart to get in.

7- Wasabi. Wasabi and Gogo are like, exactly tied for 6th. They’re both on the same level of smart, but I like Gogo more so she gets 6ths (no hate to Wasabi fans, I like him too). Wasabi, of course, has his plasma blades, which are literally second to nothing but graphene. He can cut through nearly anything with his tech. He also worked with Hiro to build that space junk disposal device in S1, and helped Honey Lemon uncover the very well-guarded secrets of Lenore Shimamoto’s life as a scientist.

8- Wendy Wower. Wendy, although a minor character, has shown herself to be pretty damn smart. She wrote the thesis that Trevor Trengrove stole, which was the basis for Tadashi’s work. Without Wendy’s thesis, Tadashi would have never made Baymax. So, though she never gained the recognition she deserved for her intelligence, she’s still hella smart. Plus, she did manage to make a name for herself as a beloved educator and inspiration for kids to get into science, and that’s kind of hard to do if you’re not already really smart when it comes to science.

9- Lenore Shimamoto. Lenore Shimamoto is really smart, although her invention failed. She built the star machine, which caused the Great Catastrophe. But, she intended it to be an infinite energy device. So, like a very early interpretation of the energy amplifier. She also built a secret lab and hid all evidence of the star machine so well that it took over a hundred years to find. And honestly, if the only person who could crack your secret was literally the second smartest person in the whole show (Obake), you hid that secret pretty well. She also built and ran a whole art institute, it takes smarts to run such a big university.

10- Professor Granville. Honestly I was stuck on who to put here, but I think she deserves this spot. She’s an accomplished professor, knowledgeable about her subjects, and was obviously smart enough to mentor Hiro, Karmi, and Obake. If she wasn’t smart, they wouldn’t have latched onto her as much as they did. She also fixed Baymax that one time in S2 and went to rescue their asses all on her own, built the robot spider SFIT security system, and has some pretty good deduction skills in order to find out where Momakase was going to steal from next.

You can also put Professor Callaghan here at 10th for similar reasons, being an accomplished professor, writing many papers on robotics and inspiring Hiro’s microbots, and coming up with the plan to kill Krei. But, his plan got foiled by Hiro, and Hiro was an inexperienced superhero at this time, so it’s not like with Obake where Hiro was a seasoned superhero who had a fair shot at stopping his plans. Hiro and Obake were evenly matched. So if Inexperienced Hiro could beat Callaghan, that means Callaghan’s not quite as smart.

Pinwheel - Asahi Hamada

Summary: A lonely pinwheel in the middle of the field was the place where you fell in love with each other. It was the place where you had deep conversations, and dates and made plans for the future. It was supposed to be the beginning of something beautiful. But the truth looks different.

A pinwheel in the middle of the field, surrounded by the most colourful flowers in different variations. From tulips to peonies, to roses and hyacinths. It was a beautiful scenario that everyone would enjoy. Even in winter when the snow covered the bushes in snow, it was still beautiful, letting the snow shine like little crystals.

But for you, it turned into a bittersweet place. Two years ago, you met your soulmate right under this pinwheel. It was raining heavily, and you tried to find shelter underneath the pinwheel where an umbrella was stationed. However, you weren't the only one taking this path, and getting surprised by the sudden rain shower. As you arrived, he was waiting there with the black umbrella with little cherry blossoms on top of it. He looked even more beautiful than the flowers around him. You had two choices, walk back and perhaps get sick, or run towards the pinwheel and talk with him. You decided to have this conversation with him, and you did not regret it. You still wouldn’t, even though your love wasn’t as idyllic as the atmosphere you were surrounded by.

As you were standing underneath the umbrella, you were listening to the rain. No one dared to say anything at first. But you noticed him taking a glimpse at you from time to time.

As the rain continued, you took all the courage you had and smiled at him. “Hi, I am (Y/N), I always take this road to calm my mind. I have never seen you here before.” He smiled at you “I am Asahi, I have recently found this place, and it’s really great to take your mind off of things.”

It was how your love story started. A simple conversation turned into deep conversations to weekly meetings underneath the pinwheel. Week by week passed and you fell in love with his smile, his shyness, his way of thinking, and his voice. You loved everything about Asahi. But there was one problem. Even though both of you were in love, kissing each other underneath the pinwheel, saying I love you to each other every single time you meet, share things about the day you had, you could never have it away from this pinwheel.

Asahi was an idol, a popular idol that could never be seen with any woman or his career could be ruined. And as much as you would love to be with Asahi freely, you could not do it to him. He worked so hard to be where he was. He left his home at such a young age, moved into a completely different country, learned a new language, and trained hard and experienced hardships far away from his family.

And as much as Asahi would love to show the world who conquered his heart, there was no way he could let you get discovered by fans. They would make you regret it, they would hate you, hurt you. And you didn’t deserve it. This pinwheel was the start of your love, but it would also be the end.

Once again, you were sitting in front of the pinwheel, holding hands while Asahi was taking pictures from the flowers around you. You were watching Asahi and you wondered how long you could make this work. The secret meetings in front of the pinwheel. Season for season, without making any step further. Where was this relationship going, did you even have a chance?

Asahi looked over at you, meeting your eyes. He knew what you were thinking, he could read your mind. And it pained him. Was this relationship fair to you? Or should he let you go, because there might be someone who could give you something that he couldn’t?

Asahi stroked your cheek and then looked to the field, closing his eyes. You leaned your head against his shoulder, looking at your intertwined hands. “Asahi… would you be mad if… if…” you sighed.

“If you see this as our last meeting?” Asahi leaned his head against yours.

You simply nodded. “No, I wouldn’t. I would understand. I love you, very much. But I can’t give you what you deserve. You deserve someone who takes you to the beach and takes photos while you are running around. You deserve someone who takes you to your favourite restaurant or café and shows you to the world. You deserve much more than I can give you.” Asahi swallowed, feeling the tears form.

You removed your head from his shoulder and stroked his cheek. “I love you too, so much. But I just…”

“You can’t live like this anymore. Only seeing each other here at the pinwheel, and not somewhere different.” Asahi stroked your cheek where a tear was rolling down. “I understand. And as much as it pains me, I would let you go.”

You met his eyes. “I am not sure if I can move on, but even if we don’t know.” You took his hand. “Please find me, once you know, we can be free together. Please find me, and see if we have a chance. A chance that we don’t have right now, okay? Can you please promise me?”

Asahi nodded. “I promise you, once I know I can be freely together with someone. I will find you.” he grabbed your face and kissed your forehead.

You hugged him and savoured his warmth, you savoured his aftershave, and you savoured how his arms felt around you. “I love you Asahi Hamada.”

He held you close and whispered onto your shoulder, “I love you too, (Y/N). More than I could form in words.”

You looked at his eyes and stood up. He was holding your hand and didn’t want to let go. “Let faith bring us back together when the time is right.”

Asahi nodded “I will find you, my love.” He stood up and put grabbed into his pocket.

“But please, wear this, as a promise of me to find you, when the time is right.” He held up a necklace with a pinwheel on it. You chuckled and felt tears forming, so you only nodded.

Asahi took a step towards you and put the necklace around your neck. You smiled and before you could turn around, Asahi grabbed your face and kissed you. A deep passionate kiss that was speaking hundreds of words. The love he felt for you, the pain of you leaving, it was all said by this one kiss.

As you hesitantly pulled away, you slowly took steps back, his hand still holding yours, the more steps you took, the more your arms were pulled up. And as you took one last step, your hands couldn’t touch each other anymore. And that’s when you turned around and walked away from the person you loved, away from this pinwheel. Hoping that he would find you very soon.

Asahi has been an idol for so many years now, Jihoon, Jaehyuk and Junkyu have gotten married, and fans have chilled out. But he hasn’t fallen in love again ever since you walked out of his life. 

He often went to the pinwheel but noticed that no one else was going there. You sincerely have moved on. You walked away which he totally understood. Your relationship wasn’t going anywhere with the heavy feeling of angst from fans between you. But his love for you has never disappeared. He focused on being an idol, he filmed everything that the agency planned for them. But he never did find someone like Jihoon, Junkyu and Jaehyuk. Because he had found you years ago, and for him, it was you until the end of his life. 

Years had passed as he was sitting there alone at the pinwheel. He started to stop hoping that one day, you might be there. He left letters underneath a small stone, but every single time he returned the letters were still there.

It has been so many years now, that it was over 25 letters. And as Asahi saw the pile growing, he felt increasingly discouraged to ever have a chance with you. 

Until he returned to the pinwheel on a sunny day with all the flowers blooming, reminding him about how he was here with you. He had another letter in his hand, but when he wanted to put it in the pile of letters they were gone. Asahi looked around and couldn’t believe it. He wondered if you were here, or if someone else took it.

“It was probably someone else” Asahi murmured to himself. 

“It wasn’t.” A familiar voice appeared from behind the pinwheel.

Asahi’s eyes widened and his heart started to beat heavier. There was you, holding 25 letters in your hand, a tear rolling down your cheek. Asahi had to hold back to wipe it away. 

He wanted to say something but nothing came out. He was so shocked to have the chance to stand in front of you again, after over 8 years. 

He studied your face. You have aged a little, and you looked tired. He looked at your hands where you were holding the letters to see if you had found someone in your life. But there was no ring or any visual proof that you did. 

“How have you been?” Asahi broke the silence as he collected his thoughts. 

“I missed you, Asahi.” you came straight to the point. 

Asahi sat down where he always sat, looking at the flowers. “I missed you too, but I think you know if you’ve read all the letters.” Asahi smiled up. 

You chuckled and sat down next to him. “Can I read the last one?” You looked over at him, meeting his brown eyes. 

He was holding the letter towards you, and took the open ones, holding them for you while you were reading the last one. 

“Hey love, it’s been eight years now since we parted at the pinwheel. This pinwheel starts to feel painful. I am there, but you aren’t. The pinwheel got so lonely, and the flowers were not colourful anymore. With you, they seemed to look different. The sun doesn’t feel warm anymore, the sun is just there. I miss you, I miss you so much. I wish I could hold you again, marry you and be with you until we both have grey hair and complain about new wrinkles. I start to lose hope for you to see any of the letters. I want you back, but I have no idea how. My life got better, fans got less hateful. Jihoon got married this year. Junkyu and Jaehyuk got married last year. And all I thought about was how it could have been us. If we ever have the chance to meet again, I want to ask you, will you be together with me again? Will we have our happily ever after? But this will be my last letter, hoping you have found someone to live a life like this. In forever love, Asahi.” 

You wiped away a tear and looked over at Asahi who was already looking at you. “Idiot for thinking I could forget you. The years I had with you were the best! I loved running through the rain with you, but when you were gone I hated the rain because it reminded me of you. I never stopped loving you and I want you back. I want you back in my life. I want to grow old with you, and already start complaining about the grey hair and not only the wrinkles.” You chuckled as Asahi snorted. “Just ask me in person.” 

Asahi stroked your cheek and smiled lightly, that beautiful soft smile he always had when he looked at something he loved. “Will you come back to me, as my girlfriend, as my future?” 

“Yes Asahi, yes!” You said. 

Asahi put his hand on the back of your head smiling and leaning in. You looked into his eyes and put your hand on his cheek. And then after eight years of missing the warmth of his body nearby, after eight years of missing his aftershave and after eight years of missing how his lips felt, you feel them again. His kiss still took away your breath even though it had been eight years.

You kissed him back, not caring about the world. Right now bugs could fly on you, and you would not dare to stop kissing Asahi, the love you always wanted. Only because you both needed to breathe you pulled away from each other. Asahi’s eyes were still on you, smiling. 

“I love you, I always have been, and I always will,” Asahi whispered. 

“And I love you too. And I never stopped with that, and I won’t ever stop!” You responded kissing his cheek again. 

Then Asahi took your hand and pulled you up after he got up. “I want to walk with you and then walk with you to practice to meet the rest of the members, only if you want.” Asahi smiled.

You cuddled on Asahi’s arm. “I want to see the men you have spent the last eight years with and the ones that took care of you while I couldn’t.” 

He kissed your forehead and walked with you through the flowers that suddenly looked colourful again, the blue sky looked blue again, and the sun felt warm. Because he had you back, after eight years of suffering, he finally had the chance to do what he always wanted. A life with you until death parts you.
