Going to Rose City Comic Con in Sept...and I kinda want to make stuff to hand out but like...would that be dumb?

I was thinking small patches like the ones I make for my battle jackets....I dunno. I'll think about it...

I had the opportunity to attend rose city comicon this weekend! it was fun!

i got so many compliments on the crochet things I was wearing. I've been considering for a while that I might be able to make money selling crochet things at events like cons and ren faires/fantasy festivals. I'll have to spend a lot of time and money building an inventory and making more of a social media presence for myself and whatever.

but if I do manage to get to that point and I have a booth selling crochet, what items do you all think would be the most popular?

if I have a sense of what people would be more likely to purchase, I can build a more effective inventory. keeping in mind, of course, none of it would be cheap and the parasols would probably be the most expensive thing here. but maybe by next year or the year after that I could have enough inventory to get a booth at some local event and sell some things.

If I figure out the most cost efficient way to make art prints, maybe I can even do some cool fantasy illustrations like a nice print of some speculative evolution or some of the art from my own worldbuilding posts like the centaur deities or something. I'm genuinely kind of excited and motivated now! it's been so hard to figure out how I can earn a living without sacrificing all the time I put into my personal passions, or how to earn money from my passions without sacrificing the joy I get from making things. but maybe I actually can do it, if I just find the right venues.

Unfortunately I can only find a clip kf the whole thing. At the end I use a fake Nere head to cover my ‘junk’. I worked so hard on this goofy bg3 inspired number. I had the idea when entering the underdark, thought it was dumb how often Spaw said coming. I practiced dancing for weeks, bought knee pads, edited together voice overs into the song. I couldn’t find just Soverign Spaw audio so I used a voice changer and used is lines lol - except I say riches of magic and Mike, instead of magic and mind at the end. ( I’ll post a full one if I can get ahold of the video).

I also did a Billy the puppet from saw number to love games by lady Gaga - where I also changed my voice to sound like the puppet and edited together screams and song and lines from the movie. I HAD A RED TRIKE GUYS IT SQUEEKED really creepy like. (Still trying to find a video as my friends were to busy watching the show, if any one from rose city comicon sees this and has pictures I would be so greatful to get them).

My company God of Lore Games got to debute thier live dnd production - we were a last min edition in a back room so I assumed no one would see us but we had so many wonderful people come watch.

I met the McElroys (my hero’s) and managed to nab seats right in the front for my first ever TAZ show.

Hi Hello.

It's been a minute hasn't it? I originally wanted to take a short break, and that's just spiraled into an extended hiatus. Thank you to everyone who has checked in, welcome to the new people who have stumbled upon my corner of the internets, and a massive thank you and hug to everyone who has reblogged anything I've written. I've been in a massive funk, and under some immense stress. Couple updates: I got a big girl job!! Which is a huge weight off of my shoulders, and I'm really excited and terrified and nervous all at once. I'm no longer formally doing kinktober. I had started in August pre-writing, but things just kept piling on, and I didn't have any time to write--that also carried over into September. I'll still write the prompts, but I'm not doing it in any order at all. I'm not putting pressure on myself. I had to cancel going to Rose City Comicon because of said job, and I'm still feeling like an ass about it. Had a couple of health issues, but they're on the mend. Nothing serious. I'm traveling cross-country for the first time (I'm a West Coast girlie) to attend the wedding of a friend I've had for 20 years. And in the process, getting to meet said friend, and two others in person for the first time since we started role playing together waaaay back in the days of livejournal. I'm excited, and so fucking nervous. TL/DR: I've been gone, I'm trying to around more. I miss you all, I love you all and HI. xo Shells.
