Law
Now I don't want to sit in the chat and say Law’s emotionally unintelligent, because he is not but he definitely has his moments where he needs to read the room before he acts. bare with him, he's just learning with you on how a relationship should work. he’s the type to leave you alone when you’re upset because thats his usual instinct that when one’s upset, they want to be left alone. he kinda has to learn the hard way that that’s not always the case…
You woke up in a funk and just did not feel alright. You were stressed and burned out and all you wanted was the comfort of your big hunk of a boyfriend, a simple cuddle with no exchange of words would've sufficed for your case.
Unfortunately, that's not how life works and it can be pretty unfair. Law’s been too preoccupied with whatever he's doing. With what? you don't know and don't care, what could he be doing that's more important than comforting you on your worst days? Furthermore, it didn't help that when you woke up, he wasn't even next to you in bed before he up and left.
Loneliness consumed you as your intrusive thoughts began to take their toll on you and start inhabiting your psyche. You knew they were irrational, you knew that Law wasn't going to leave you, you knew that he has the terrible habit of Irish Goodbye-ing his way out of a situation, you KNEW that you mean so much to him.
But his lack of communication is a flaw that you never think will challenge you as you thought you already what was coming. Law was a man with little words, so you can’t expect much from him, right?
You began tearing up as you start to grasp onto the pillow that Law once laid in, getting any ounce of remnants of him that can act as a source of comfort. Sure, it contained his manly scent that makes swoon and the pillow was soft, however it didn’t contain his usually cold beating heart that you enjoyed listening while holding him. You needed him badly as you began sobbing into the plush.
Unbeknownst to you, Law walked in, completely unbothered as he placed his kikoku to the side and closed the door. It didn’t register until he heard sniffles and the muffled sobbing that made Law furrow his brows in confusion. You began shaking as you almost screamed into the pillow Law would usually sleep in.
Law looked around the room in an almost panicked manner, almost like he’s trying to find the source on who made you cry before he leaned in to the bed and began shaking you.
“hey, hey, (y/n), what happened?!” Law hastily spoke. He was not the best at emotions but he will surely go kill someone that made you feel this way.
You lifted your face from the pillow, finally looking up at the person who has been in your mind the whole time he was gone. He’s studying your face while your lips quivered before you tackled his body by wrapping your whole body into his, your face on his neck. Law threw one arm behind him for support while the other arm instinctively wrapped around your midriff.
As you two settled, Law held your head as the other began stroking your back. He didn’t know what resulted in you acting this way, so he began speaking.
“(y/n), is there any—“
“Shut up, Law,” you interrupted as you spoke into his skin which made Law taken aback, “I just want you in my arms…”
Law’s tensed body relaxed as you grasped onto him like he was about to fade away from your arms. He is usually very awkward about physical touch and emotional confrontation, but he knew he can’t simply walk away from you and leave you be whenever you you’re not feeling the greatest.
he realizes that that it’s okay to remain, and if you wanted to be left alone, you’ll tell him. For now, however, all you both need is to be in each other’s arms to ease each other up.
“It’s okay, (y/n)… I’m here now”
Zoro
another awkward man who doesn’t know how to deal with emotions. he, like law, will go after someone who tries to harm his loved ones, he’s not here to play around.
You were running for the life of you, panting as you picked up the speed as someone was chasing you down. Everything was happening so fast, one second you were just eyeing at beautiful and intricate jewelry at bazaar near town, in awe of the sheer beauty and how colorful these gems gleamed in center. It was in the pricier side, which is what you expected, but you couldn’t help but gawk at the shiny gemstone that was practically calling your name.
A man stood by you, observing how you were eyeing at the jewel, took the opportunity to introduce himself and insist on buying this beautiful gem. You’ve naturally rejected his offer…
And next thing you knew, he was harassing you and chasing you down, demanding your hand in marriage. You ran away before he caught you—thanks to Zoro’s training in speed—but that’s all you could manage to do. You began finding a spot to hide, bumping into locals as you proceed to run while the man was calling out for you.
Once you find a crevice you can hide in, you kneeled as you began to wrap your arms around your legs as your breath began to shake in fear. Tears started to well up as you silently began calling out your boyfriend, hoping he can save you from this.
“(y/n)?” you hear a familiar voice, making your head jolt up at the man standing in front of you. It was Zoro, your boyfriend whom you prayed will show up. You only shook as you began stuttering and standing up to hold him.
You began sobbing onto his chest, meanwhile he froze in place, clueless on what to do. Your intention of hiding was shown to be futile, as your sobs echoed in the market, drawing unwanted attention while Zoro was looking around to see what happened, what lead to you in this mess.
“(y/n), I can’t help you if you don’t tell me what’s going on—” Zoro sternly yet worriedly spoke before he was interrupted by a roar.
“You get your filthy hands out of my future wife!”
Your blood ran cold as you heard that deep voice that struck fear into you. Once Zoro felt the stiffness and looked at the man who stood in front of the two of you, he already connected the puzzle pieces together.
So that’s the bastard that made you cry in fear…
“Your future wife, you say,” Zoro smirked that iconic devilish smirk before he rubbed your back, silently telling you to release him, which you did. That’s who Zoro was, a man with not many words, but you understood his language better than anyone could. You stood back while Zoro crossed his arms with a straight stand as he eyes at the man who’s ready attack him.
“That’s right! I even got her the jewel she wanted!” The harasser yelled as he grabbed hold of the jewel. You once admired that ring he was holding, now that it was in his hands, he absolutely tainted it. But Zoro couldn’t careless, he gathered both of his swords out, making the man jump in fear.
“Oh, I see, you got her that ring, how romantic…” Zoro taunted, enjoying the sight of the cowardly man standing in front of him. You only gulped at the sight, you knew Zoro will kill him, and he could only spare him if the man just ran away. Zoro simply walked up to him only for the man to walk backwards, legs shaking.
“Stand back! O-or I will kil—“
“Would like to see you try.” Zoro harshly spoke, which made the man ran before Zoro intimidatedly raised his sword at him.
“Coward,” he mumbled to himself before he placed his swords back to their case. Before he turned, he looked at the gleaming ring on the ground. He walked up to the source and picked it up to examine it, that was the ring that the man was holding earlier.
He turned to you, hugging yourself in the corner, not wanting your boyfriend to see your crying face. He smiled at you as he showcased the ring in his palm, “is this the ring that you were admiring?”
You only pursed your lips as you nodded. As much as you wanted to hate the ring for what that man did, you still had to admit that that ring was the most beautiful jewel you’ve ever laid your eyes on.
Zoro held your hand gently, and placed the ring in your ring finger. You looked at him in awe, only for him to smirk at you.
“I may not have bought the ring, which is a shame, but you deserve it…” He’s not the most romantic, but he always means well, which made you giggle when he tried to be one. He smiled at you as he held your face, rubbing away the remaining tear on your face.
”i got you, okay? just remember that…”
Sanji
out of the three of them, Sanji’s definitely the more in tune of emotions. He may not be the vulnerable one in the relationship, but he definitely allows himself to be emotional when he wants to with you and this man will do anything that will make that frown upside down.
It was a long night after a stressful day for the two of you. You thought you needed that destress but I guess your body asked for something different.
It was like any other regular session, Sanji gave you the foreplay that you needed before he laid on top of you, thrusting in and out of you letting out the sweetest of moans and whimpers.
He praises you and repeatedly tells you how good you feel, all the thibgs that typically turns you on, yet you feel like you’re in pain.
You don’t know what’s wrong, but you just didn’t feel good while Sanji attempts on pleasuring you. Instead there was this sharp pain in between your legs, the stretch of his cock went from the usual pleasurable sensation to discomfort.
“S-sanji… please…” you moaned out, but it wasn’t of arousal. Unfortunately, it sounded too similar to your pleasured state, thus Sanji thought you were just in pleasure, so he went in a pace much painful than you expected.
“fuck, c’mon, baby, c’mon, you’re doing so good~”
There was no use, you were in so much pain and you felt your tears welling up and started to sob at the sharp that your boyfriend has no idea of. You simply cannot take it anymore.
”BUTTERSQUASH!”
once you yelped out the safeword, Sanji’s blissed closed eyes shot open as he halted his movement. He was looking at the headboard until he heard you sob. His heart sank as he pulled away from you and backed away slightly, far to give you space but close enough to be able to check on you.
“baby, are you okay?” He looked at you with concern in his eyes, his blue eyes glimmer in worry, guilt written all across his face, “I am so sorry, darling, I should’ve guessed that you weren’t comfortable…”
You reached out for his hand and shook your head as you got closer to him, “don’t apologize, I thought I also needed this, but I guess I don’t”
That didn’t reassured his guilty self one bit, so you began stroking his face and placed your forehead on his.
“It’s okay, Sanji, I’m okay.”
Sanji just pulled you in to his embrace and you hugged him back as you relax onto his arms.
“I’ll never hurt you, nor will I allow anyone to hurt you… You’re too precious to be hurt…”

law - fire
Trying to calm your breathing down you closed your eyes, doing your best to not panic.
“You ok in there?” Shachi called out.
“What’s the temperature reading?” That might’ve been Bepo. You couldn’t tell.
You’d gone into the boiler room of the submarine to try and fix an issue with the central temperature.
The submarine was supposed to be descending toward the abyssal zone, and with pressures as high as they were going to be there was no room for error with the temperature.
Before you could finish, something that was moving fast hit the side of the Polar Tang, resulting in the door locking you in.
Law had designed the functional rooms of the ship to be perfect.
The boiler room locked from the inside, so that if there were ever an issue with a pressure change, any explosion would be contained to the source of heat.
You heard some debris clatter on the outside, followed by what sounded like a loud, metal clang.
A high-pitched beeping noise started to sound through the small room.
80°
You pressed the down arrow five times. With the way it had been programmed, the boiler room shouldn’t be above seventy five degrees.
Your stomach started to twist, and nausea climbed up your throat when the number didn’t change, and after a few more second read
83°.
“Y/n! You okay?!” Bepo and Shachi had started to move some of the debris that was blocking the door, “Something hit us!”
“The temperature is going up in here, it’s at eighty-three and the buttons aren’t working!”
“Hold on,” Bepo called out, “We’re moving the stuff from in front of the door, we’ll pass you the key from under the door.”
You steadied your breathing and managed to settle your nerves the slightest bit.
A silver key slid under the door and you grabbed it.
“You should be good to open the door now.”
You placed the key in the lock, and started to turn it when the ship took another hit.
This one sent you flying into the wall.
You heard Shachi and Bepo’s impact.
Your head was pounding and you fumbled around looking for the key, unable to find it.
You could hear yelling coming from outside.
“Shit! Bepo- try and move that stuff!”
You assumed Shachi had left as you heard footsteps .
Slowly you got up, your head was starting to stop spinning.
You still couldn’t find the key and tried jiggling the handle
An unnatural rattling sound was coming from the handle.
Fuck.
The key had broken off inside it, and the jagged edge that you could just barely get a finger around was too sharp to try and turn.
The temperature in the room continued to rise.
Your palms had started to sweat and you felt your chest contracting more and more with each breath.
The heat was starting to fill you up from the inside out.
You ran to the thermostat, frantically pressing the cooling button.
94°
“Y/n?!” Bepo called, banging on the door, “I moved all the stuff! Try to open the door!”
“I can’t!” you yelled, your voice straining, someone was yelling- Law, maybe? What had happened? “The key broke in the door! Bepo- the temperature won’t stop rising!”
Bepo continued banging on the door- you knew that he was starting to panic.
98°
You sunk to the floor, looking for a way out- anything.
You twisted the door knob with so much force that you worried you might have broken it. Not that it made a difference.
106°
Bepo’s banging stopped and you started to panic again.
The yelling could still be heard in the background.
“Bepo?”
No answer.
Sweat was dripping down your back and your palms were sticky. Your hair clung to your forehead and it was getting harder and harder to breathe- whether that was because of your panic or the heat you could not tell.
You peeled off your boiler suit, which offered you some temporary relief.
Sitting in a pair of shorts and a tank top now, you simply sunk against the door- banging on it occasionally.
“Bepo!!” You yelled.
That damn bear.
Where was Law?
You perked up at the question.
Where the hell was your captain?
118°
You decided you’d try the key, taking a deep breath before grabbing onto the jagged metal edges with all the strength you could muster.
You felt the metal slip past your skin, digging into the flesh of your hand.
Blood dripped down your arm in a warm, steady stream and you strained to turn the key.
It wouldn’t move- too little of it was exposed.
Black dots started to dance in your field of vision, and you felt yourself slipping out of consciousness.
It was so impossibly hot, your mouth felt dry and tacky- like a thin layer of warm glue had been poured inside it.
Your head was pounding and your lungs felt like they were full of sand.
As you started to faint, you thought you saw a pale blue glow cover the room.
You smiled to yourself before you slipped out of consciousness.
Better late than never.
131°
“Room.”
“Lift her arms,” Law ordered.
The feeling of biting cold sent a spark running down your spine as two ice packs were placed under your arm.
You blinked your eyes open, a dull pain still drumming in the back of your head.
There was something sturdy behind your chest, and you felt a hand resting on your stomach.
You tried sitting up, but the hand on your stomach held you in place.
“Not yet, Y/n.”
“Law.”
“You have heat stroke- please don’t move. Stay right there, for me.”
You relaxed back against him.
“Bepo- hand me another ice pack. Is the bath ready?”
“Almost, Shachi’s getting more ice.”
You strained to sit up again, this time Law held you down with slightly more force.
“Y/n. I’m serious,” his tone froze you in place, “Do not move.”
“The boiler room-” you started, “‘s too… hot. Pressures- Gonna go up.”
Your speech was slurred and everything in your body felt so heavy.
You felt Law look back up at Bepo and nod.
“Ok, come on.”
He lifted you up, holding you bridal style to try to keep you as relaxed as possible.
“This isn’t gonna feel great,” he said, “But you need to stay in here for at least twenty minutes.”
“Law,” you mumbled, “ ‘s very nice of you.”
Slowly, he lowered you into the makeshift tub- a large plastic bin that was usually used for storage was filled with ice and water.
The cold was biting and an icy burning spread throughout your body- lighting up your nerves as you were completely submerged.
“Dunk your head in. Just once.”
You sleepily shook your head.
Law sighed, “Alright, I’m gonna help you do it, ok?”
Your hands gripped the side of the tub, and you relaxed slightly when he brought a hand to rest on your neck and gently lowered your head down.
He helped you back up, his steady grip taking the stress off of your body.
Bepo had been sent out of the room to help the others in fixing the rest of the ship.
You sat up and leaned back against Law’s chest, drenching him in ice cold water.
He winced.
“Not so great, hm?”
“No, not so great.”
You sat there, resting against him for a while. Slowly feeling yourself regaining strength.
You had acclimated to the temperature and the sensation that replaced the freezing cold was somewhat nice.
“What happened?”
“Underwater volcano, if you’d believe it.”
You laughed, still too tired to hold a full conversation.
“I’m sorry…” Law started, “I’m sorry I didn’t get you out of there sooner.”
He sounded so sad- you turned to look at him.
“Law, everybody did the best they could- Even me, look.”
You lifted up your hand to show him the injury to find it had already been bandaged.
He smiled at you.
“What kind of doctor would I be if I hadn’t noticed that, huh?”
You gave him a gentle smile.
You could tell that he wasn’t fully convinced, and still felt guilt at having taken too long to rescue you.
Before he could even react you wrapped your arms around him, pulling him into a hug that you shouldn’t have had the strength to give.
You could feel tension spark throughout his body, but after a few seconds his arms found their way around your waist and pulled you back in.
You let go first.
He followed, a few seconds after.
“If you really want to make it up to me,” you said.
“I do,” Law answered.
“Never give me boiler room duty again.”
zoro - earth
You had four hours to get to the Sunny.
By noon you and Zoro had to traverse through eight miles of thick, unwelcoming jungle.
It was humid and neither of you were looking forward to the journey but you had a mutual respect for the other, and though it was never said out loud, shared an enjoyment of each other’s company.
Zoro liked your good natured humor and admitted to himself that you were easy on the eyes.
You liked Zoro’s stoic nature and admired his relaxed composure.
Your fighting styles were perfectly complementary. Zoro attacked first and thought later. His cuts and slices were executed with a terrifying precision and he was able to readily turn on his animalistic attack mindset. You, on the other hand, were thoroughly analytical. Zoro possessed the skill to not have to worry too much about reading an opponent beforehand, but you were able to read them as fast as he could draw his swords. Able to pick apart formations and fighting styles before they could even get a hit in, you were able to direct Zoro and predict enemy attacks perfectly.
He’d never openly admit it but he liked taking directions from you. To him, independent and capable as he might have been on his own, it felt like he was a sword and you were the hand that guided it.
He made the final cut, but it was you who had swung in the right direction.
Needless to say, you had both set off on your journey toward the Sunny with very few complaints.
The humidity increased, the further you got into the thick green that covered the island.
You pushed through miles and miles of green leaves and branches.
It was lively, the sounds of bugs scuttling across the floor, birds crying from the canopy above, and frogs chirping and yelping filled the scenery with the noise of life and energy.
You were humming to yourself, enjoying the warm weather and snacking on the chips Sanji had packed for you, handing the bag over to Zoro when he reached his hand toward you.
You’d made good progress in the two hours you’d been walking and agreed you could afford to sit down to eat lunch.
“Haha! I do remember that!”
“Or what about when that moron of a cook though he and Nami had us beat in trivia night-”
“And they lost to us in the category of cooking!”
You and Zoro were both laughing. Not such a rare occurrence when the two of you were together.
Zoro’s head suddenly snapped around.
You felt it too, the hairs on your neck rising.
A chill ran through your body and you turned to press your back against his.
“I can’t tell where they’re coming from.”
“Neither can I.”
Your breathing was in sync and you both waited, weapons at the ready.
In a split second the tension broke and your attackers revealed their position by shooting an arrow.
“On your left!”
You jumped to the side as a flurry of arrows flew past your head and heard the sound of blows being dealt by Zoro as he handled his side.
You pulled your throwing knives from your bag where they rested and aimed at the enemy.
Flashes of shiny steel flew through the colorful greens and teals of the forest, the sound of metal against metal echoing in the open space.
You and Zoro fighting together was truly a sight to behold.
You set up every hit he got, and the hits you got were courtesy of Zoro.
It was like a sport for the two of you, a team working perfectly in sync.
Skill aside, your ability to guess his next move paired with his ability to accommodate his hits to the blows you landed, made the two of you nearly impossible to beat.
After only ten minutes of fighting, you’d taken out more than half of the group ambushing you.
Your blades were dripping matching shades of red, and it wasn’t long until the remaining attackers ran.
A stray arrow was stuck in a tree and you pulled it out to inspect it.
Thick, green liquid dripped off the end of it.
Poison.
“Y/n!” Zoro called.
You dropped the arrow and ran to his side.
“Who was that? I didn’t recognize anything about those attackers?” you asked.
“Same here, but it doesn’t matter. Could’ve just been bounty hunters.”
“Working as a team? Unlikely.”
He shrugged.
“Either way, they’re gone.”
You nodded and followed behind him as you continued your walk toward your crew.
A dull throbbing had started to spread throughout your body. You had a headache, too, but shrugged it off.
You walked for another few minutes before you felt liquid trickle down your throat.
You pressed your hand to your neck, pulling away when you felt a warm film cover your fingers.
There was a small gash on the right side of your neck- you’d been hit.
“Fuck!”
Zoro turned around, eyes widening when he saw the wound.
He ran toward you and pressed a hand against your neck to stop the bleeding.
“Shit, shit, shit! Ok- Ok, um, just stay calm,” he was panicking, sweat was lining his brow.
He reached into his backpack and pulled out a napkin that was meant for your lunch.
He held it against your neck and you started to feel faint.
You felt your right foot lock. You tried to move it but it felt like trying to move a steel ball with only your pinky finger.
“Zoro…” the fear in your voice was evident.
The swordsman sat you down against the trunk of a tree and held your hair up with one hand as he held the cloth to your neck.
You started feeling faint, and a slowly increasing feeling of nausea was spreading throughout your body.
“We need to get the poison out.”
You nodded, the strength slowly leaving your body, like water flowed from a leak.
He rummaged through his backpack which contained only the lunch Sanji had packed you, a standard first aid kit that Chopper had insisted you take with you, and a broken compass he had forgotten to throw away.
He grabbed the first aid kit and frantically dumped it out.
You pointed at the gauze and Zoro grabbed it.
“Okay… I’ll, um, wrap this around… your neck?”
You nodded, “But we still need to get the poison out.”
You winced in pain, doubling forward.
You grabbed a few pills Chopper had thrown in and swallowed them as Zoro continued to try and calm himself down.
“It’s spreading.”
Zoro’s head was pounding- this was definitely not his area of expertise and there was nothing in the kit that said ‘Poison Remover’.
“H-how do I,” he asked, overwhelmed, “Just tell me what to do.”
He might not have any medical knowledge but he’d be damned if he let a crew mate die on his watch.
Especially you.
Your eyes had started to close and he was set in his resolve to save you.
Get the poison out, he thought.
As he felt your grip on his arm loosening something in his brain clicked.
He brought his arm around your neck, letting your head rest against his bicep.
His lips wrapped around your neck, and you felt his warm tongue swipe over the shallow wound.
You hissed as he traced his tongue back over it, his saliva coating your soft neck in a thin glaze.
A slight pressure built up as he started to suck the poison out, occasionally spitting it out on the ground next to you.
You made it with a half hour to spare.
The rest of your crew warmly greeted you, happy to see you having made it safely.
You walked onto the ship, Zoro staying by your side, like a knight does with a princess.
Sanji was the first to notice the bandage wrapped around your neck.
“Y/n-chwan!! Are you hurt? What happened?”
You shook your head, “I got hit with a poisonous dart. But I’m okay.”
You gave Zoro a thankful look.
Sanji further inspected the wound, noticing the deep purple and red hickey that sat right on top of the gash.
“What… exactly happened?” he asked, shooting a glare in the swordsman’s direction.
“The poison had started to spread and, uh…” your voice trailed off.
You weren’t sure if Zoro wanted to announce his heroics to the crew.
He stood taller and crossed his arms in front of his chest.
“And I sucked it out,” he announced.
He sounded proud enough, but his increasingly red cheeks implied otherwise.
There were mixed reactions..
Sanji was furious and started to bicker with him, Luffy and the boys were laughing, but Nami, Robin, and Chopper all seemed confused.
“But,” Nami had started, “I thought that that doesn’t work-”
You cut her off and shot her a look, that said Don’t say anything.
“I would’ve died if it weren’t for him.”
Robin giggled and ushered them all back inside to finish lunch, explaining to a very confused Chopper what was going on.
You and Zoro were left alone on the deck.
“Thank you,” you whispered, bringing a hand to rest on his shoulder, “You saved me.”
He looked away from you, rubbing the back of his neck and nodded.
“Anytime.”
Of course, you knew that sucking the poison out of a wound was an outdated myth.
It was the pills that had saved you.
But Zoro had been hellbent on saving you and did everything in his power to keep you alive.
He believed he had saved you.
And you’d be damned if someone told him otherwise.

agagagaga i love requests like these <3 sorry it’s a bit long but i hope you enjoy!!
Character(s): Law, Zoro, Sanji
WC: 1,460
Reader Who Cries When Angry
Law
It was just a simple misunderstanding...why did you get so frustrated???
No. It wasn't your fault...it was HIS
Your boyfriend, Law, had asked that you accompany him on exploring the newest island, YOU, like only and specifically you
Of COURSE you thought this was a date kinda thing because it had been like 100000 years since Law had taken you out and omgomgomg you were so excited
You had put on a little bit extra makeup and did your hair nicer as you met Law on the docks
"You look nice," he commented. You screamed and did a little dance in your head but put on a calm smile for him
It seemed Law had made up his mind on where you two were going because instead of heading to town, you were both trudging up a hill in the middle of the woods
Maybe he was bringing you to a flower field....OR maybe he was going to give you a big old kiss under a cherry blossom tree
Ok maybe you were a bit ahead of yourself...but you couldn't help but wonder???
Then Law abruptly stopped in front of you and crouched down over a bush. You decided to repeat his actions to find out what he was staring at. There were small berries in the bush, all with different colors and sizes.
He opened his bag and pulled out a notebook and pen and handed it to you.
"Write as I talk," he commanded, and who were you to disobey your captain.
Law went on for what seemed like forever about these berries and described them all in detail. You wrote down as much as you could till your hand started to cramp, but thank god by then he was basically over.
He mumbled a small thank you as he took the notebook back, quickly revised the notes you had taken, and stood back up.
"Alright lets head back"
What...did he mean...head back...
WHERE WERE THE FLOWERS AND THE KISSES?????
"Law...." you asked calmly, "what are we doing out here?"
Law looked at you a little funny and said, "Well I read that these berries are only found on this island. I read about their different properties and wanted to see them for myself."
"And why did you choose me of all people to come out here with you..?"
"Well you have the neatest handwriting."
That had done it.
You wanted to scream and yell and make angry hand gestures at him....but all you could do was cry
It was like a dam broke and you just couldn't stop
Law looked more confused than he had ever looked in his life...then rushed over to you like the good boyfriend he SHOULD HAVE BEEN
Law continued to ask what was wrong...but all you could do was cry
When you FINALLY calmed down...you explained to him that you thought this was a date...and were ANGRY at him for not making it one
Lets just say this story ends with Law buying you icecream and giving you a million kisses mwah mwah
Zoro
In his defense he had no clue you were gonna start crying
He just wanted to give you a taste of your own medicine
You always LOVED to prank him along with Luffy and Usopp
None of those pranks were CRAZY...just little silly tricks like banana peals on the floor to slip on or throwing water balloons at him...but either way they annoyed him
SOMEHOW he thought of the genius idea to prank you back...
Though Zoro's definition of a prank IS NOT what you'd think it was.....
The crew had just arrived on a new island and everyone went their separate ways to explore
Zoro had insisted that you and him take a walk in the woods, and even though you were against it since he ALWAYS gets lost…you reluctantly followed along…
Zoro had the perfect plan in his head….he was going to walk ahead…hide behind some some trees..and then SCARE YOU (he’s not the most creative with these things)
He had suddenly ran ahead..saying that he spotted something and leaving you alone
He SWORE he only ran only a minute or two ahead, just enough where he could wait and hide…
But that was an hour ago…and Zoro was waiting FOREVER..till he heard you..
SOMEHOW in running 2 minutes ahead he got himself lost
So there you were frantically calling his name while the sun quickly set
You really REALLY didn’t wanna be out here in the dark looking for him… and the creepy forest sounds did not help
A small rustle caught you attention..so you walked closer to the sound…till ZORO in all his glory jumped out of the tree and yelled boo
You were so startled that you fell back and hit the forest floor..while Zoro started CACKLING
You were tired…scared…hungry…and PISSED
As much as you wanted to scream your head off at him and punch him 10000 times…all you could do was start to cry
He stopped laughing as soon as he heard your sobs and felt frozen when he saw you crying
He never cried when you pulled tricks on him..SO WHY WERE YOU??????
“WHY ARE YOU CRYING,” he yelled, meaning it to come off more comforting
“CAUSE YOU SCARED ME,” you yelled back while still crying
After some back and fourth yelling..Zoro admitted he was wrong..but SWORE he didn’t get lost..you did
And you were so gonna prank him back for this one
Sanji
Now Sanji RARELY ever made you mad
You always laughed when you heard people complaining about their partners because your boyfriend was just perfect
Though one thing did kinda piss you off….his flirting
Now don’t get it confused you LOVED when he flirted with you…but it was the flirting with every woman he saw that bugged you
Usually you brushed it off and reminded yourself that he loved you more…but this time was different
You were helping him pick supplies at an island you stopped at, a usual job between the two of you
Though your palette wasn't as refined as Sanji's, you still were good at picking what food was best for the crew
Sanji had spotted a stand in the market with fruits native to the island, which were apparently very rare
He looked like a kid in a candy store while talking to you about the fruits, and all was well UNTIL the shop vendor came over
Now this girl was GEORGOUS like looked like Boa Hancock your jaw dropped when you saw her....and so did Sanji's...
Immediately he showered her with compliments and praises, just the usual....but instead of turning him down like the usual girls do...she flirted back...
Whatever...who cares...I mean it was bound to happen soon...but surely Sanji wouldn't take it too far...
You honestly didn't care too much...only a little jealous...TILL SHE INVITED HIM TO HER HOUSE
The vendor basically had said that she would show Sanji some of her new recipes that she made with the fruit and would love to talk about technique....IN HER HOUSE
Why couldn't they just do that here??? and even better why don't they just end the conversation now!!
Deep down you BELIEVED in your boyfriend and knew he wouldn't accept the invitation....until he did
A quick kiss on your forehead and a quick goodbye he left with the vendor and started to walk to her house...
What. Just. Happened.
So first he leaves you to hangout with this RANDOM lady...AND THEN LEAVES YOU TO FINISH THE SHOPPPING
It was later in the evening when he came back to the Sunny...a new recipe book in tow
He was excited to show it off to you, and was happy to hear that you finished the shopping for him!!
Sanji found you in the kitchen, putting away the food in the pantry
"Y/N!! Look at this amazing new recipe book I got from that vendor, you'd love this one-"
He looked up from his rant to notice that you were crying...
Sanji dropped the book and ran to you, begging you to tell him what was wrong
You wanted to stay silent and angry at him, but the tears kept pouring out and you just wanted him to hold you
You told him how upset his flirting made you and how him leaving with the other woman made you furious
He immediately apologized and honestly didn't stop for the rest of the night
He swore to you that he would tune down the flirting and that he would bring all his attention to you
And he kept that promise well, minimalizing the complements towards other women, even dialing it down around Nami and Robin
He truly was sorry and vowed to himself to never make you cry again

Confidence: Zoro
Roronoa Zoro x F!Reader
Summary: You have never been defeated. No man or woman to have ever partaken in your challenge have come out victorious, only further solidifying your reputation. That is, until Zoro comes wandering into the bar you have set up your latest challenge in. You're confidence and his inability to back down from a challenge has Zoro feeling rather--weird toward you. A weird feeling that has him staying around you longer than he knows he should.
Warnings: tiny bit of angst, heavy alcohol use, mild talk of age difference (everyone in this fic is 18+), smut (dom x dom, p in v, hand job, fingering), very, very mild anime spoilers, Zoro not knowing what emotions he's feeling for 6K+ words
Word Count: 6.9K (Oops--my hand slipped)
A/N: This is my first time writing for Zoro soooo please be nice to me 🫣 I tried my best lol. And you already know I'm sorry about the word count--this whole mini-series was born from an inability to control the word vomit I type down, so the same thing happened here 😬 This is the 2nd part in the requested 'Confidence' series and I hope you all enjoy!!!

“She has never been defeated. No man or woman alive can best her.”
“She’s as strong as a man.”
“No--as strong as ten men.”
“Ten--” A scoff, “try a hundred men.”
These were the whispered and bewildered words of the patrons of the bar Zoro had wondered his way into. Words that piqued his interest as he made his way towards the bar, eyeing the gathered crowd of men just off to the side. An interest that was stifled when a mug of beer was placed in front of him--beer he’d been itching to have since he hoped off the Merry and onto the docks
Just when he had taken that first, refreshing sip of the wheaty drink, his name floated amongst the whispering. His name, his recent bounty, and his skill--skill they bet would take down whoever you were.
And Zoro was completely uninterested, a deep sigh huffing through his nose as he took another large, gulping drink. This would mean he would have to leave the bar he had just found. Leave because his name would only gather unwanted attention to him and his crew who had been trying to avoid attention of any sort.
You tucked a handful of berries into your pocket as the man before you cradled his arm, which you had so unfortunately snapped. Had just readied yourself to take on the next man who sat eagerly down in front of you when you caught a flash of green hair--of three swords strapped safely to a hip.
Roronoa Zoro.
He was a man you had heard rumors of throughout your travels through the Blue Seas. For an ex-bounty hunter, alleged demon, and holder of a hefty bounty he looked awfully--young to have gained all those titles and glory. Titles and glory that come with hard work--years of training. Years after tortuous years you had undergone to get to the level of skill you had achieved.
You were proud of your achievements and no man, young or old, would make you feel any less…but it didn’t stop you from needing to challenge him. To test your power against his and see if he could finally beat you after all these years.
“A man carrying that many swords,” You called, silencing the crowd who gasped collectively, parting to allow you a better view of the pirate who was making his way out of the bar, “must be making up for something rather…small--weak.”
Zoro stopped in his retreat, unwittingly taking the bait you had thrown at him
He turned his eyes, which were as dark as the night sea, onto you, looking like your remark hadn’t affected him--a remark you’ve known to throw many a man into a wild rage.
“Hardly.” He huffed on a blink. He watched you grab the man who sat before you by the scruff of his shirt and throw him out of his chair, sending him rolling onto the floor and nearly knocking over another who got in his way. Watched you gesture toward the now-empty seat before you.
“Then prove it, pretty boy.” You said, confidence and ego dripping from your every word. Dripping from the way you held yourself to the way you kept your features in that of cool, collected, confidence. It was a confidence and ego that called to Zoro’s own--called to it in a way he could not ignore as he usually would.
You smirked as he made his way over, sitting down in his seat--sitting down in his seat in a proficient way that anyone else in this room would have thought normal. But it was far from normal. You saw it for what it was--a call to his true abilities.
“How will I do that?” He asked you dryly. You placed your elbow on the worn, wooden table and raised your hand to silently let him know to take it. The famed swordsmen did no such thing, only eyeing it. “An arm wrestle? That is hardly a challenge.” He all but scoffed at you.
“Oh? Scared?” You teased, making the man narrow his eyes the slightest bit at you. “Thought you weren’t making up for something?” Zoro grasped your hand in his, steadying his elbow just a little ways before your own.
Zoro noted your hand was strong and calloused just any decent sword wields would be--but it also sported elaborately painted nails in a beautiful shade of purple with gold detailing.
He liked those colors was the next thought that crossed his mind before he could shut it down.
“If I win?” He asked, knowing better than to take your bait twice. Your eyes lit with excitement as a chuckle spilled from your lips. A chuckle that took him utterly off guard.
“If you win, I’ll buy you a drink and let you do as you wish to me. Whether that be death, a task needing to be fulfilled, berry, or a quick fuck in the alley. You’re choice.” Zoro’s gaze fluttered over you again. Confidence--such confidence that had their hooks buried deep in his flesh. Hooks he knew he needed to rid himself of before something bad came his way.
“You buy me a drink and show me to the docks.” You nodded at the fair wager. “And if you win?” You let your eyes wander over the swordsman’s body--over his strong stronger, calm features, and lips that you could tell were just full enough to be perfectly kissable.
“If I win, you buy me a drink and give me one of your earrings.” You said eyeing the three, golden earrings dangling from his ear. Ones that had hardly moved as he walked over to you. Hardly moved as he sat and took your hand in his own. It was all call to the skill you were about to pit yourself against.
Your response surprised Zoro. He’d taken on many challenges and won many duels, but never once had someone asked him such a thing. Such a strange request.
It only made those hooks dig deeper.
“I agree to your terms.” He said, readying himself to take you on.
“And I do yours.” You spoke on honey-dripped tones that had few men around the room huffing in flusteredness.
Berry was passed around as bets were made. Whispered words laid just under the surface of the silence which had fallen over the bar. Whisper about who would win, how they would win, and what in all the gods’ names was Zoro thinking for just asking you for directions and a drink.
Zoro and you gave each other a brief nod before your challenge began.
You knew in an instant he had earned his bounty as such power bore down onto your arm--power that had your excitement whirl around in your chest, a laugh you couldn’t control spilling from your lips.
Zoro knew just as quickly that you had earned the reputation he had heard whispered around the bar. Knew that you weren’t worth ten men--not even a hundred. You were worth a thousand.
But Zoro was, unfortunately for you, worth two thousand men.
Arms shook, sweat pooled and dripped down brows, the wooden table whined and shook until--
Your arm budged. Budged and struggled to regain what little space you had lost. Another cheerful laugh flew from your breathy lips.
A laugh that had Zoro’s chest feeling all--weird.
Why were you laughing? You were losing?
Another inch was lost to you. And then another and--
The table snapped in two beneath the power roaring around the two of you. You were pulled from your seat and all but into the lap of the man you had nearly lost to.
You cursed, angered at the cut-off challenge only to find a deep, rumbling chuckle spill from Zoro’s lips. A chuckle you instantly liked and wanted to hear more of. A chuckle that rumbled through you as Zoro leaned in close, his breath brushing against your cheeks in a way that had your body heating.
“Let's get that drink.”
You both ordered a round for the other. A round that turned into two, then three, then four, until it was turning into another full-on challenge. One the patrons around the bar fed into by buying you both shots and drinks.
Berry once again flowed. Bets were made and whispering dealings on who would win floated around the now music-filled bar.
Zoro finished his eighth beer when he turned to find you finishing off your own eighth, flashing him a smug grin that had that strange feeling stirring in his gut.
“Slowing down?” You teased him, grabbing for your fourth shot given to you by one of the men sitting closest to you.
“Hardly.” Zoro scoffed, ordering himself the same shot you had been given. “Just let me know when you need a break, princess.” He said in that dry wit he teased you with.
“Princess--I like that. I think if I win, instead of buying me a drink, you’ll have to only refer to me as a princess.” Zoro raised his shot glass for you to click yours against. The liquid warmed your throat as it flowed downward, a warmth that spread through your body again when your eyes caught sight of the swordman’s strong throat bob on his swallow.
“Fine. I still want a drink. But you’ll buy me a bottle of sake instead. A nice bottle of sake. Top shelf.” You nodded, pushing your empty shot glass away and replacing it with your ninth beer. Zoro was quick to follow.
“Of course. Only the best for the great Roronoa Zoro.”
You two had five more beers, two more shots, and a tiny cup of cheap sake before most of the partons left for the night, defeated. The bar closed soon after the last handful left and you two were kicked out, ending your second challenge before it truly began.
“What bar closes before one?” Zoro gruffed as you two walked through the all-but-deserted streets of the port town. Only a few drunken men stumbled home, singing off-tune shanties and relieving themselves against the sides of buildings.
“The kind whose clientele should have gone home an hour ago.” You huffed, placing a hand on the sword at your side absentmindedly. “I will show you to the docks. I assume your captain is waiting for you.” Zoro eyed you again like he wasn’t sure what to make of you. “Tell me…how did the mighty hunter become the prey?”
“I am still plenty the hunter.” He said with that smugness that mirrored your own.
“Oh of course. A 60 million berry bounty doesn’t come from just laying down and being complicated.” You said, all but purring his way. It had that feeling in Zoro’s gut fizzing again. Made him want to challenge you again--over and over until a victor was found.
“You tell me since you seem to know so much about me already.” You huffed, turning your face away from Zoro. He watched the moonlight make your eyes sparkle--watched your painted fingernails tap over the hilt of the sword at your side. One he could tell from the hilt was of strange make and good caliber.
“Don’t flatter yourself, Roronoa Zoro. Your name has been whispered in the wind for a long time now. Your face now posted everywhere one can find space.” You said pointing towards the nearest building, where a few wanted posters had been plastered onto.
Sure enough, there was Zoro’s face and bounty just next to Luffy’s goofy grin.
“Stories of what you did in Alabasta are told in many a bar I’ve conducted my challenges in. I have good ears. Nothing more.” He almost would have believed you had the corner of your mouth not twitched. Had your painted nails not tapped over the hilt of your sword again.
“Who are you then? Bounty hunter? Marine? Pirate?” Zoro’s gut clenched as you turned your gaze back onto him. A gaze that pierced through him like a dagger. You chuckled. A chuckle that tickled at Zoro’s ears in a pleasant way that had his gut unclenching, only to clench up again like some fist.
“I am merely looking for the one who will finally win my challenge.” Zoro wanted to know more. It was almost like a need to know who you were. Had you been a pirate once? A bounty hunter, just as he had? Who had trained you and how long would you be able to hold out against Zoro’s own blades?
And it was all very--weird. Weird that you were making him feel all strange inside--making him want more of that feeling.
You came to a stop at the entrance to the docks, Zoro stopping with you, his eyes hardly leaving your features.
“I am sure you will be able to find your way back to your ship from here?” Zoro huffed, scanning over the docks, easily spotting the ram's head of the Merry just a little ways away. “Then it has been an honor to challenge you. May our paths cross again.” You said with a small bow of your head before starting off in the opposite direction of the Merry.
“We haven’t finished the challenge yet.” You paused, looking back to Zoro with a small smirk.
“I have more sake on my ship if you wish to continue there. I doubt any bar for miles will be open.” Zoro scanned over your features once more. Over your body which you held so confidently.
He shouldn’t. Not when everyone in this town and the next knew what his face looked like--what Luffy’s face looked like.
He needed to get his crew out of here before the Marines came sniffing around…but your smugness and ego and confidence were pulling at Zoro in a way he had only felt once before towards Dracule Mihawk, but this--you were different than the great swordsmen. You with your shining eyes and painted nails adorning his favorite colors of purple and gold.
He should go. Leave you and your challenge…but Zoro had never been known to make good decisions before.
And he never backed down from a challenge.
“Sake it is.”
Your ship was tiny compared to the Merry, but seeing as it was a vessel manned by one person, it made sense. It was cozy and filled with trinket after trinket. Swords, daggers, and all sorts of weapons hung on the walls. Rings, necklaces, and all sorts of treasure sat on shelves blocked off by glass--and was that a finger bone sitting next to a golden goblet?
Zoro came to realize these were trophies from your wins. Trophies his earring would surely join if you won against him--which he thoroughly doubted.
You requested that he remove his boots before fully entering the inner workings of your vessel, just as you had. He obeyed the request without questions, not wanting to disrespect your hospitality.
He watched you move around the small kitchen area, pulling two, wooden o-choko cups from the cabinet and then grabbing a bottle of sake from the fridge.
“Let’s make this fun.” You said, sitting down at the kitchen table, gesturing with your hand holding the sake bottle for him to join you. “I have three more bottles after this one. Every time we finish a bottle and a victor hasn’t been granted, then we get to ask the other a question and you have to answer.”
Zoro hesitated at your request. He knew better than to share details of his life with anyone. Hell, his own crew hardly knew much about his past…but he came this far. Had already boarded your ship and accepted your hospitality, he couldn’t leave now.
And he couldn’t refuse the offer of free sake.
“Only four bottles? Please, that’s nothing.” Zoro said sitting down across from you, taking one of the wooden cups and holding it out in sign to fill it. You poured the liquid into Zoro’s cup before passing the bottle to him, repeating the process but with your own cup. When both cups were filled, you lightly touched your cups together before taking that first sip of the fruity, apple-hinted sake you had purchased just the other day.
“If you're that eager for me to ask you a question, then might as well just skip right to the chase.” Zoro huffed in something like mock amusement.
“Get to drinking, princess.”
You both sat, sipping on your sake and passing the bottle back and forth to refill each other's cups. You both made idle, yet engrossing chit-chat about different types of swords and their capabilities before you finished that first bottle of sake.
“Tell me your name.” Zoro requested as his first question.
“I feel like that is a waste of a perfectly good question.” You mused, rising from your seat to grab the second bottle of sake stored in your fridge.
“You have to answer, remember? Your rules.” You chuckled, filling Zoro’s cup with the freshly open bottle of sake. But you told him, family name and all. A name Zoro repeated low and slow, rolling it over his tongue as his brow furrowed in thought.
“Sounds familiar.”
“I can assure you, it’s not.” Zoro let it go with a casual shrug as he took the sake from you and filled your cup. You both clicked glasses and took your first sip. Your eyes scanned over his chest, which his shirt hung open to expose. “How did you get that scar? Pretty nasty.”
Zoro took another sip from his glass, watching you closely. Scars were seen by most as failures--as defeats. Gods’ know how many times you had scarred one of the men who had challenged you just to see the devatated look on their faces.
“I challenged Dracule Mihawk to a duel. Lost.” He said simply like it was hardly a big deal. He said it simply even when that name shot through you like a hot iron. A name that had your anger rising in your chest.
Zoro took note of the anger that flashed through you at the mention of Mihawk. An anger that looked more like wrath than mere anger. He wondered what that was for? What had happened to make you hate the man so much…maybe that would be one of his questions.
“Why--” Zoro cut you off with a shake of his head.
“Keep drinking, Y/N, and if you make it, you can ask.” You huffed and continued to sip on your sake.
The second bottle was finished much quicker than the first, mainly because you had been chugging your cups like an utter fool so you could ask your question.
“Sake is meant to be enjoyed you know.” Zoro gruffed at you as you stood.
“Ask your question.” You commanded. Zoro blinked his eyes at you, amusement flashing in them as you opened the fridge door.
He liked your anger. It was fun to tease out of you.
“What’s with the finger?” He asked, shoving a thumb over his shoulder. That seriousness and anger that had overcome you banked the slightest bit at his question. You’re shining eyes gleamed in excitement at its mention.
“My first trophy. He lost his challenge to me and instead of paying up the berry I had asked for, he tried to kill me. Took his hands for it.” You mused, eyes unfocusing as you remembered back. “Lost them both along my travels. His pinky is the only thing that remains.” You said, wiggling your pinkie at Zoro who laughed. A laugh that was hardly above a chuckle, but a laugh all the same.
It was--stunning. And hardy and fit him so well. One you wanted to hear again and again.
“What a pity.” You shrugged as you sat back down across from the swordsmen.
“Why challenge Mihawk?” You asked, pouring Zoro more sake. He found that seriousness began to seep back into your features. “That man walks with death herself. She shadows him--sponsors him like some god would their chosen champion.” Zoro took the bottle from you and returned the favor.
“Because I made a promise to someone a long time ago that I would become the world’s greatest swordsman. Mihawk is the holder of that title. I thought I would win. I was wrong.” He said simply yet again.
Said it so simply--too simply, like he hadn’t gone up against Dracule Mihawk and left the encounter alive. Went up against the hawk-eyed Warlord, who had hadn’t always been as such. Who had once hunted those very marines he now served. Marines he had slaughtered regardless of who their deaths might hurt. Zoro had walked away from that true demon alive and was playing it off like it wasn’t a big deal.
“I do enjoy myself a man with a vow,” You said, trying to lighten your mood, before clinking your cup with Zoro’s. “And a death wish.” Zoro held your eyes as you took a sip of your sake and he a sip from his. Eyes that dug into him deeper than any had before.
“Any swordsman worth their weight in the steal they carry has one.”
“I’ll keep drinking to that.”
You both finished the third bottle in the span of half an hour. A bottle that merely had you feeling full rather than anything more fun. You found you were able to withstand the effects of alcohol the more you learned how to control your body in ways others never would. Ways Zoro seemed to understand as well.
“What are you? Truly.” Zoro asked as you pulled the last chilled bottle of sake from the fridge.
“I am nothing now but a lone traveler…” You said shutting the fridge door with your hip. A movement you saw Zoro track with those deep, dark eyes of his. “but in a past life one might have found me selling teas in my mother's shop.”
Zoro watched closely as you sat down before him, something like pain flashing through your eyes. A pain he himself had felt once before. “Until death knocked on my door and changed that.” Your voice dipped dangerously low as you poured sake into Zoro’s cup before passing the bottle to him. “Then I did a quick stint as a pirate.” Zoro filled your cup, placing the bottle in the middle of the table.
“That’s how I know you. You had a bounty.” You narrowed your eyes at him.
“Had. A long time ago.” You huffed, “Why the three swords?” You asked, changing the topic and pulling that calm and collected mask back on. Zoro’s hand came to rest on the three swords at his side when brought to their attention once more.
“My vow--I made it to a friend.” He said, deciding it wouldn’t hurt to tell you of his childhood friend. At least just vaguely. It wouldn’t hurt when you had told him just as vaguely of your pain. “When she died I was gifted her sword. I then crafted the Three Sword Style which I have been perfecting ever since.”
The fourth bottle was finished off just as you two had gotten halfway through discussing the ways you both had trained in swordplay, which took a pause as you poured the last half of the sake into Zoro’s cup.
“Why seek out defeat?” He asked, taking the bottle from your hand. His fingers curled around yours, holding them there as he leaned forward. Fingers that all but made your skin sizzle like you were touching fire. You slide your hand out from under his, trying to forget about the feeling of it against yours. “You are the strongest woman I have ever come across. Why look for your skills to be diminished?”
“Why seek out fame?” You asked back on a near snap, which the pirate hardly seemed to pay mind to your tone. “Why seek out titles that are only words to be spoken? Why seek out a title that will only have silly little boys, like yourself, hunt after you and inevitably kill you?”
Zoro blinked at you. He ignored your jab at him once again. A jab that was only meant to rile him to anger. He was collected enough to not take your bait for a third time that night.
“I have a death wish, remember.” He said, taking his cup in his hand, leaning in closer than he needed to fill your cup. “Your turn.” He said with that gruffing voice. A voice that had your body growing warm. A warmth completely unrelated to all the alcohol you had drank.
“Because I’m tired of winning.” Zoro watched you raise your cup for it to be filled. He watched your eyes as he filled your cup. Eyes that shined brightly yet held a dullness to them that called to that exhaustion you claimed. He placed the sake bottle down and raised his cup for the last cheers of the night.
“Are you sure you’re not ready to tap out?” Zoro asked, keeping his cup just out of reach of yours. Asked in that dry humor of his that had you narrowing your eyes at him.
“Hardly. Are you?” Zoro chuckled. A chuckle you paused your riling emotions to listen to. To memorize dispute only having just met the man.
A man who could beat you despite your continued challenges. You knew he could--had felt it during your first challenge. You were big enough to admit defeat when it came time for it. When someone truly earned it. And Zoro had earned it…but you couldn’t help but want to keep his company a little while longer.
“Hardly.” And your cups met each other in a gentle kiss before you both took that first, last sip. “What now?” He asked, leaning back in his seat heavily.
“I don’t know.” You said on a shrug, taking another sip as you leaned your forearms on the table. “A drawl?” The room fell quiet--a quiet that lasted all of two seconds before the both of you were laughing at such an absurd idea.
“I didn’t know you to make jokes,” Zoro said as his laughter evened out.
“Oh, I’m sure I have pulled a chuckle or two from you tonight,” Zoro smirked, sipping his sake. “This table is sturdy enough. We could try arm wrestling once more?” He eyed you long and slow. Eyes that danced over your face and down your neck.
“Finish your drink and then we can resume your first challenge.” You smiled, excited as you set on sipping your sake faster than you knew it should be sipped. But you couldn’t help it. Not when you were eager to get back under that power that rolled off him in waves. To press your own power against it and feel it wane against his fire.
You both slammed your cups to the table and had your hands clasped together hardly a minute later. It seemed you both were eager to complete this challenge.
Zoro gazed into your eyes and you gazed into his on a pause. A pause and a nod of the head before the challenge resumed.
Once again, you were reminded of his power. Of how good it felt to feel your strength weaken against his.
Arms shook, brows beaded with sweat, and heat pooled in your abdomen. A heat no man had been able to stir for a long, long time. No man had been worth its sizzling flames.
A little noise spilled from your lips. A noise that had Zoro’s attention pulling from your shining eyes to your lips. Lips that hung parted on that small noise that had that weird feeling grow and thrash about in his abdomen.
“Fuck.” He cursed on a deep rumble that had you clenching your thighs together against the frustration building in you.
“Fuck, Zoro--win.” You all but begged the swordsmen, whose teeth were clenched so tight you thought they might fracture under the pressure. “Win, win, please.” You continued.
Despite your pleas for him to win against you, you hardly gave up your hold on his hand. Hardly gave into his power. You fought against it, just as he fought against yours. A fight that your arm had just begun to yield under when Zoro cursed yet again.
Zoro couldn’t focus. Not when you were making those little noises and begging him to dominate you. Couldn’t focus when you looked just as bright as your eyes--when your painted nails were pressed flush against the back of his hand. Not when that weird feeling wanted him to win against you in another way.
The alcohol. It was the alcohol making him feel this--needful for you.
He knew that wasn’t it. Knew he was hardly even tipsy. He knew he had felt this way as he had drunk his first beer.
“Fuck it.” He hissed, reaching across the table to grab your cheeks in his free hand. You sucked in a breath as he all but pulled you across the table, lips pressing harshly against yours. You fought back against his lips in a fiery kiss that any outside might have thought looked more like two dogs mauling at each other's faces than any true kiss.
But it was a kiss you felt your body ignite against--that you could taste the sweet, fruity sake you had drank on his tongue and lips. One that made your pussy throb and your limbs grow fuzzy as you climbed onto the table, knocking over the empty sake bottle as you crawled over it.
He all but pulled you off the table into his lap where you moved so you could straddle his waist and press your kiss down onto him.
Hands grabbed at clothes and relieved the other of their shirts, which were tossed to the ground before lips were rapidly moving against the others. Your hands smoothed over his hard-earned, muscle-lined chest, feeling the slight raise of the scar Mihawk had given him.
Zoro’s calloused hands moved from where they grasped your hips upwards, sending goosebumps rising along your skin.
He felt a scar along your hip bone, one that cut up your side, and another he felt just under the edge of your bra. But never once did he feel a scar on your back.
You were a true swordsman. A true warrior.
It had him grabbing you tighter. Had him hosting you up as he stood before pinning you on the table, fingers unbuckling your belt and unbuttoning your pants.
Zoro yanked your pants down your legs, trailing hot, opened-mouth kisses along your scarred skin making a huffing moan escape your lips. You ran your fingers through his green hair before grabbing for your pants which he wasn’t pulling off fast enough.
You yanked them off, grabbing him back against you and claiming his lips harshly as you rose off the table onto your feet.
Zoro’s back hit the wall, making the swords and other various weapons rattle upon impact. You wasted no time in going for his belt, which fell away from his hips under the weight of his three swords.
They had just fallen to the floor with a dulled clatter when Zoro was turning you so that he could slam you against the wall, throwing his skillful power into you which had you moaning in gleeful pleasure. A throwing star, which had been hanging just beside your head, fell to the ground and embedded itself in the wood there.
You wanted him to do that again. To move you despite your own power fighting against him.
Your hands grabbed for Zoro’s pants again as his hands grabbed for the clasp of your bra, which he fumbled with and found he couldn’t figure out the mechanics of. One last harsh kiss was given to Zoro before you pushed him away, going for the clasp behind your back.
“Pants.” You grit at him. He huffed at your commanding tone, but did so regardless of his want to ignore it.
His breath hitched in his throat as you threw your bra off, your breasts falling from their confines and making his mouth water at their heft. You yanked your underwear off just as Zoro had finished pulling his pants off, leaving you both bare to one another.
Your eyes scanned over his body shamelessly. Scanned over the scars he bore--the large one cutting across his chest, another smaller one on his shoulder, and two more rounding his ankles. Scanned over the sheer amount of strength that radiated off him that you needed to grab and feel against you all over again. Scanned over his cock, which twitched in the open air, precome already spilling for its tip.
Zoro looked over your body just as you did. A body that was strong--well-honed muscles built throughout it from the years of training he knew you had gone through. Muscle that did nothing but enhance your utter femininity. From your hair to your shining eyes to that shade of purple he found your toenails were painted as well.
Zoro thought you might have been the prettiest thing he had ever laid eyes on.
You were grabbing at Zoro just as he was grabbing at you. Lips caressing in that harsh manner that had your abdomen burning. Bare bodies pushed and pulled and felted at the other in a way that had your head spinning.
You slammed Zoro into the door that led to your chambers, his teeth finding your neck in a pinching bite that was sure to leave a bruise as your lips pulled away long enough to open it. You shoved Zoro through the open doorway, his hands grabbing for your arms to pull you with him.
He used the momentum of your shove to switch positions with you, lips claiming yours as he guided you back toward your bed. When the backs of your legs hit the frame, you climbed onto the plush mattress before he could shove you down, not wanting to give your position up quite yet. A position you wanted him to fight you for. He climbed in after you, lips hardly leaving the others.
That push and pull began again. You tugged at Zoro who tugged right back. It was a continuation of the challenge you had been waging to see who would come out on top--literally now.
Your fingers brushed down his strong stomach before wrapping around his hard cock, pumping him nice and slow in a way that had him hissing out a breath. You watched his brows furrow under your admissions--watched as the corner of his lip twitched in a near snarl as your thumb passed over his dripping head. Your touch spurred his hips into motion--thrusting into your hand with each pass of your thumb.
“I think I like this type of wrestling much better, don’t you?” You teased, tightening your grip just that much more around him. His fingers dug into your skin. Dug hard enough you were sure it would leave a mark. You wanted it to leave a mark. “I think I like the idea of having you come all undone first, looking so, so pretty.”
His hips halted their mindless thrust, eyes narrowing down at the smugness that had filtered into your bright gaze.
“Is that--” He hissed, finding your hand stilling working him in a way that was tortuous. “Is that a challenge?” You smirked.
“Should it be?” You continued to tease, eyes fluttered to look at his parted lips which huffing breaths floated out of.
“Same rewards?” He asked, making you nod.
“If that’s all you still wish for, then yes.” You lulled, leaning up to brush your lips against his. “But I think you’ll find it a harder challenge to win then--” You sucked in a shaky breath when a finger dipped into your needy folds. A finger that had found your clit in seconds and was applying just the right amount of pressure and type of touch to have your hips moving to get closer to such pleasure.
“I’m sorry,” He huffingly teased back, pressing your chest flush against his as a shit-eating grin plastered itself onto his kiss-puffed lips. Your hand paused its working of Zoro’s cock at the sudden sparks he sent shooting through you. “What were you saying?”
“How--how did you--fuck,” You cursed, grabbing hold of his shoulder for balance. Jolt after jolt of pleasure rushes up your body. Pleasure you had only even been able to fully give yourself.
“I think,” He gruffed brushing his lips against your ear, making a shiver rush up your spine. “That I’m going to have you coming all undone for me, Y/N, and then enjoy myself the best sake this little island has to offer.” His gruffing voice rang in your ear.
“In your dreams.” You huffed, swallowing a moan that wanted to escape.
Zoro grunted as you resumed moving your hand up and down the length of his velvety cock. A movement that had Zoro stopping the circling of your clit only so he could shove your thighs open wider, all so he could sink a finger into your dripping pussy--and then another. He curled and pressed them into that spongy spot up in you that had stars flying across your vision--stars that grew in number when his thumb found your clit once more.
Huffs and pants and grunts and cut-off moans between near-violent kisses filled the space as you fought to get each other off--to get the other to lose the challenge you had been trying to finish the whole night.
You pulled away once more when Zoro gave a deep-chested moan. A moan that had his brows knitting together and his hips jerking against your hand as if to pull away because--oh yes.
“It’s okay, pretty boy. It’s okay. You can come for me. Yes, yes, please come for me.” You comforted, placing a gentle kiss on his flushed cheek and picking your pace up just that much faster. “So strong. So powerful. Come on my hand and let me taste just how--” Your words were cut off as Zoro pulled his fingers out of you only for them to wrap around your throat in a tight hold. A hold that nearly had you coming right then and there.
He pinned you to the bed, your hand slipping from his cock in the process. But it didn’t stop you from wrapping your legs around his waist and rubbing your dripping, needy pussy against his twitching and as equally needy cock.
“You talk too much.” He hissed, the hand not pinning you to the bed running down your body so that he could reach for his swollen cock. “I’m gonna make you come so hard around me you won’t remember how to speak.”
“Yes--please.” You panted out as he pressed the tip of his cock against your fluttering entrance. A pant that turned into your own deep-chested moan as he sunk himself into you, inch by glorious inch. A moan was met with Zoro’s grunts as he bottomed out in you, your pussy flexing around him as it worked to accommodate his size.
You wrapped your arms around his neck, pulling yourself up enough to claim his rough kiss once more as his hips began to move his cock within you.
His pace gradually began to quicken. A pace that grew so brutal, that tears brimmed in your eyes at the pleasure he pounded into you. And when his thumb found your clit again--oh gods you knew you might not win out against him.
And as lust and pleasure fogged your brain, you found you wanted him to win. Just as you had wanted him to win against every other challenge you threw his way that night.
“Zoro--oh fuck, Zoro keep going. Please, please, please.” You begged against his panting mouth. He kept up his wicked pace, the sinfully wet sounds of your pussy getting utterly destroyed filling your ears and adding to the pleasure that was rolling through you.
Sweat slicked over skin, bodies buzzed and shook, lips moved frantically and hungrily. And that release your body begged for built and built and built and you had just began to tip over the edge. Your finish just a breath away--hot ribbons of come shot into you.
Zoro had come just seconds before your pussy was clenching around his twitching cock. Just seconds before you were moaning his name and holding him close as you’re finish rushed through you. His solid body fell on top of yours, chests full of uneven and choppy breath.
“You win.” He huffed into your neck. You sighed deeply, running your fingers through his green hair.
“I was only teasing--” Zoro pulled his face away so he could look into your eyes. Deep, dark eyes that never looked away from your face as he unhooked an earring from his ear lobe, holding it out for you to take.
“You win, princess. Fair is fair.” You gently took the gold earring from his hand, brushing your knuckles over his cheek. A touch the swordsmen leaned into, his lips leaving a burning kiss to your writs. “Put it next to the finger.” You laughed, leaning forward and placing the softest kiss of the night to those lips of his. Lips that kissed you back just as soft--slow. A kiss that had your heart beating against your ribs.
“Just for you, pretty boy.”

the night was dark, yet the moon left you with a perfect amount of light to be able to see in the darkness.
you wanted to grab some water before you headed to bed, but just as you were about to enter the kitchen you froze as you heard Zoro talking with Luffy.
“I just don’t understand why you’d choose her out of everyone from that island, we don’t need somebody like her.”
his words cut like daggers as they hit your ears. he really didn’t want you here?
“Don’t say that! She’s a nice girl and she cleans really good! She might not fight a lot but that doesn’t matter.”
Luffy argued with the other individual, hearing a scoff emit from his mouth at his captains words. You were torn between barging in or running away before the swordsman spoke yet again.
“Exactly, she doesn’t fight. If we get caught up in a serious battle she won’t be able to defend herself, and one of us is going to have to babysit her. It’ll be annoying, and we don’t even need cleaners we have Sanji.”
you didn’t want them to, but tears brimmed your eyes as his words hit you like a train. were you really that useless? he had to babysit you?
numerous thoughts swarmed your mind, Luffy still talking with him but you couldn’t hear him. you thought you had found a place where you meant something after years of being unwelcome and not having anybody, you thought you had a family- but it was clear there was yet another individual who underestimated you.
in your rage and frustrations, you walked away from the kitchen, the moon emitting a shine onto the world below as you leaned over the rail of the Sunny, covering your mouth to conceal your sobs as your heart cried for a sense of belonging, just for once.

Make Me Water • Zoro x Fem!reader• (18+)
CW: squirting, pussy slapping, rough sex, slight dom!zoro, dirty talk, multiple orgasms
Cee’s Note: Been a min since I’ve written for Zoro but in honor of his bday I had to 🤭🤭
Song cred: Water by Tyla
[minors do NOT interact; explicit content ahead]
“Do it again”, Zoro demanded, through gritted teeth.
You felt the light-headedness from your orgasm as you came down from the euphoric feeling. You didn’t even realized the mess you’ve made on Zoro’s dick and the sheets below you.
One thing about Zoro is he is very determined and driven in everything he does. Whether it’s his dream of being the “World’s greatest swordsman” or when he pushes himself to the limit during his workouts.
So when your juice’s sprayed against him mid stroke, his competitive nature took over, determined to see how many times he can make you squirt throughout the night.
His tight grip on the back of your thighs, folding you like a pretzel as he continued pistoning his cock inside you. The position had him reaching your deepest walls, stimulating your sweet spot.
“Mmm….good girl,” Zoro hummed his priase, “Taking me so well”
A harsh smack to your cunt made you cry out as you reached your second orgasm of the night.
“Oh..fuck…that’s it!” Zoro cursed, slapping your cunt again harshly, “keep cumming on this dick”
The way your pussy fluttered and squeezed against him was making it difficult for him not to empty his load in you. But he needed you to do it one more time.
And he didn’t care how long it would take.

Maybe green it is your color after all | Roronoa Zoro x reader
summary: Zoro being jealous of your sudden closeness to Sanji.
warnings: none.
a/n: jealousy trope is always my favorite lol
It all started when Sanji became part of the Straw Hats, -just a week ago- You and Zoro haven't been alone together for more than 10 minutes before the cooker drags you away by your hand telling you about his new recipe without caring if you were with Zoro, your boyfriend.
But it wasn't entirely his fault, he doesn't know you have a boyfriend and it's not because you're a shame of Zoro or something like that, no, it was because you two agreed not to say a word to the crew unless it was more serious, in case of a breakup, you don't want to make things uncomfortable.
And still knowing you can't tell Sanji you have a boyfriend, it upset Zoro every time, but he would tell you about it? No, because this ugly feeling he feels in his chest anytime when he sees you laughing, smiling or just you being near to Sanji, was childish, well, at least for him.
Zoro thought he could get rid of the feeling in a few days, but a week? A man like Zoro has his limits.
To be honest, Sanji's flirt didn't bother you at all, because to you, it was all a silly game. Sometimes it was even nice to hear his compliments, you've to give him credit, he was very creative with those, everytime he made you crack a smile or a laugh, but never blush or feeling nervous, the only man who can do that, was your Zoro.
But Zoro doesn't seem to realize the effect he has on you. Only looking at your way it was enough to make your heart race like crazy.
“So, what's going on between you and the cooker? You two seem very close” You lifted your eyes from the book you're reading, a puzzle look on your face, what was he talking about? “Don't act like you don't know what I'm talking about, Princess” He snickered the nickname. Walking closer at his hammock where you've been lying down.
And hearing the nickname suddenly made sense to you. Sanji has been calling you Princess recently around everyone. Saying your beauty was exceptional and that you should be treated as such.
“Oh well, don't you think I'm like a Princess?” You try to joke but seeing his tense body as he stands in front of you maybe wasn't a good idea.
He frowns, it's not the answer he wanted to hear from you. It was too hard for you to say 'The cooker? That ugly man? Ugh, I just feel pity and disgust for him, nothing more'
“Of course you're a Princess” He leans down to be on the same level as you, “but you're my Princess, not his” “Zoro, are you jea—” And he kiss away whatever thing you're gonna say.
You're trapped between his lips and the hammock and you wouldn't prefer it any other way. But a knock on the door it's enough to make you jump out of your place, pushing Zoro with both hands as he groans in frustration.
“Hey Princess, you awake? I'm waiting for you” And speaking of the devil...
Zoro scoffs, “We are awake, what you want?” He says opening the door. Sanji doesn't seem surprised to see you together alone in the same room. In fact, his grin grows on his face as he takes in your figure. You hair a little messy and flushed cheeks, standing awkwardly in the middle of the room.
While the swordsman is glaring him with hate. He blocks Sanji's view with his body. “Sanji, could you uh, wait for me? I'll be with you in a few minutes” Your voice is heard behind Zoro.
“Sure, take your time” and Sanji whispers something that only Zoro can hear, “After all you're gonna be with me the rest of the night, Princess” Sanji closes the door and Zoro is fuming. Oh, he's so gonna kill that damn cooker.
“Are you okay?” He snaps out of his bubble, feeling your hand on his chest. “I just can't believe it, he had the audacity to ask you out while I was here with you, he can't read the fucking room?” “You're jealous? I've never seen you that mad before” “The fuck I am” Brow arched, taking your hand of out his chest, you say “So I guess you won't mind if I go with him right now?”
At your words he takes your hand back to his chest, holding it there, “I'm—, I just don't trust him” He sighs, “But you trust me?” Nodding, he squeezes your hand, “Then you don't have to worry, I only want you, okay? You own my heart, Zoro. I'm entirely yours.” Bringing his hand up to your lips you place a kiss on it.
“So I better hurry up, I promised Sanji I would help him with the dinner tonight” Even if he still doesn't like the idea of you and Sanji spending time together, your words have made the uneasy feeling on his chest disappear and now a new feeling is there, confidence.
And confidence is a dangerous feeling as jealousy.
You walk faster to the kitchen which wasn't far from the quarters, and there was Sanji with the rest of the crew, chatting and laughing. When they heard your footsteps they all looked at you like they knew something about you that you didn't.
“You forgot something” Zoro's voice startled you, he was behind you, “what—” And once again, Zoro cuts you off with a kiss. He grabs you by your waist, tugging you close to deepen the kiss. It definitely catches you off guard. A little noise of surprise comes from you.
Then he pulls away, the only sound in the kitchen is the sound of the two of you trying to catch your own breathes. And just like that he let you standing there, dumbfounded.
He sits with the rest of the crew, drinking one of the beers.
“Pay y'all, I told you they're dating” Nami exclaims excitedly but you don't know if is for the money? Your relationship? You're not sure but you're happy they know about You and Zoro, your boyfriend.

Zoro comforts her, maybe even embarrasses the ex while they fight off some enemies and stuff. Sorry i know I'm rambling on, but ahhhh i would love to see this come to life! thanks again! :)
hands off
☆ characters: roronoa zoro
☆ up next: captain's girl; shanks x reader
☆ summary: you have an unexpected run-in with your no good ex boyfriend but unfortunately for him, you have zoro with you
☆ a/n: lovedddd writing this! i love writing protective zo :3 thank u for this ask! requests are still open
☆ key: e/n = ex's name
It was a busier night than you and the crew had seen in a while. You were all desperate for a day off of chores and the open ocean so Nami suggested a brief stop at the closest island.
You’d broken off in groups to spend some time on land and you Zoro and Robin had made your way to a dive bar in town.
It was a welcome stop– the ship only had sake on it. Franky and Brook had finished the gin during a card game and Sanji had finished off the bourbon in a recipe.
The three of you found a seat and you took a moment to sink into the torn leather cushion, breathing in the smell of old cigarettes in ashtrays and beer. The neon lights washed you in a warm hue and Zoro couldn’t help but stare at how the blinking lights shifted on your face, changing the shadows of your eyelashes danced on your cheeks.
He got up, realizing Robin had taken note of his staring and made his way to the bar ordering a drink for himself.
You and Robin were talking, he could hear your giggling and tried to drown the warmth that erupted in his tummy by downing the drink.
You walked up behind him and hugged him from behind, “Zo-ro!”
He loved the way you said his name, stretching out the first syllable and emphasizing the second. Zou– ro!
“Hey, Y/n,” he said, biting back a smile.
“What’d you order?”
“Sake.”
“Shocking! Gimme a sip.”
He handed you the small bowl, his heart beating faster when your fingers touched.
He watched you sip it and wince as it went down.
“Still gross.”
It was too much to be around you, you were intoxicating and he knew if he spent too much time around you after having had a few drinks he’d most likely say something stupid and embarrass himself.
He started getting up, awkwardly trying to get you off of his shoulders.
You let go and took his seat.
“Here,” he dug around in his pockets and handed you a few bills and several coins.
You shot him a puzzled look.
“Get yourself a drink, since you didn’t like mine.”
“With…” you paused and counted the money, “Three berries and sixty-four.. no, sixty-five cents?”
He shot you a look and snatched the money up, grumbling as he went back to the table.
A man in the bar quickly took Zoro’s place once he’d walked away and started up a conversation with you, much to Zoro’s irritation. He went and sat with Robin, sipping his drink and playing a game of checkers with her.
An hour or so had passed and you, sociable as ever, had talked to almost everyone in the bar.
Robin playfully nudged Zoro in your direction, who was absorbed almost entirely in his sixth cup of sake of the night.
You were sitting alone at the bar now, ordering yourself a drink.
Zoro furrowed his brow and took another big sip of his drink, pretending not to understand what Robin was hinting at.
“Hmph,” he muttered, still not wanting to admit to Robin that his crush had been found out.
A sudden impulse to go to you and declare his feelings bubbled up in his chest and against his better judgment, he stood up trying to gather the courage to go up and sit with you. It’s not like it would have been weird–he was closer with you than the rest of the crew and he knew you better than anyone (at least that’s what he let himself believe). But tonight, for some reason, he had been feeling nervous around you. He told himself that maybe it was your new perfume, floral and saccharine, and dizzying every time he caught your intoxicating scent or the dress you were wearing that hugged your body in all his favorite places, not that he looked, of course, or maybe it was your hair which was framing your face, now glowing in the soft light of the bar and pink with the warmth of alcohol that was driving him absolutely mad at the thought and sight of you.
“Better hurry,” she said, getting up to leave, “Looks like a few other people already want to take the open seat next to her.”
A group of younger boys in the corner pushed one of their group toward where you were sitting, sending flirty remarks your way.
“I’ll see you two back on the ship tonight.”
You ignored the boys behind you, rolling your eyes at their antics.
“Mint gimlet, miss,” the bartender said, handing you a drink, winking, “The gentleman over there sent it.”
“Oh? Well, thanks,” you said, looking to see who had guessed your favorite drink.
Your heartbeat picked up, thumping with a quick, erratic beat against your chest. You felt goosebumps cover your skin and your stomach churned.
Him.
It had been two, or was it three?, years. God knows you’d tried contacting him; dozens of letters, calls, messages, just wanting to know what happened. Had you done something? Was he in trouble? Did a year of your life mean nothing to him? All that time, all those kisses and conversations and messy beds and lazy mornings. All the petty arguments and fights and the tears you’d cried in front of him. You had told yourself that there was no way he’d have thrown it all away. But six months after you’d last seen him, leaving your bed in the early hours of the morning, kissing your forehead and promising you dinner that night, he’d responded to one of your letters.
It was some shitty, half-assed excuse—something about new opportunities and not wanting to tie you down, being your own person.
A lump in your throat began forming at just the thought of it.
You looked away from him, blinking back tears, but it was too late. He was headed your way.
Well, you thought, the least you could do was ignore him.
He sat one seat away from you, smiling at you like a schoolboy in love. You wanted to break your glass over his head.
“Hi, sweetheart,” he said, placing his hand over yours, “How are ya?”
He was halfway through a beer, a drink that you now associated with his memory.
You clenched your jaw and looked straight ahead, ignoring him entirely.
“At least taste the drink, I know they’re your favorite.”
Zoro, who had been closely watching this entire interaction noted how you tensed up the moment he sat down and placed a steady hand on the handle of his sword. He paused for a moment, closely observing the scene that was playing out before him. He watched you push the drink in front of you away and your soft smile fall into a frown.
“Leave me alone.”
The man reached over and placed his hand on your thigh and gently squeezed, eliciting visible disgust from you.
Pushing his hand off you repeated yourself, “Leave me a-lone.”
Zoro was already making his way toward you from the other side of the room, his blood starting to simmer at the sight of your unwanted visitor.
He stopped at a table about twenty feet away from you, deciding he would wait a bit more before taking any action– he was, after all, somewhat intrigued.
The man was laughing, but you had never looked so angry.
“I am sorry, sweetheart,” he heard him say, “Let me explain what happened, just hear me out.”
“I don’t care what happened, and I will not hear anything out so long as it’s you speaking,” you responded.
“Did ya miss me? At least answer me that.”
Your hands were balled up into shaky fists, “No.”
The man laughed again, grabbing your drink from in front of you and taking a sip, “Yes, you did. Look how worked up you are! Don’t know how to respond to the sight of me, huh? Am I as handsome as you remember?”
You suddenly felt a large hand on your shoulder and turned to look up and see Zoro, relief sweeping through your body.
“Hey, Zo,” you said, smiling at him.
“Mind getting me a beer?”
“Not sake?” you asked. He laughed, a lot more than normal, but insisted it was the beer he wanted.
Tension between you and your ex was already at an all-time high, and your apparent closeness with Zoro wasn’t helping.
The bartender placed the beer in front of you and you pushed it over to Zoro who grabbed it and sat in the empty seat between you and your ex.
“You know him?” Zoro asked, taking a generous sip of beer.
You didn’t respond for a second, but eventually nodded, “Yeah.”
“Want me to move?”
You could see E/n glaring at Zoro.
You bit the inside of your cheek and looked up at Zoro who had an unreadable sort of expression on his face, something between irritation and apathy. He looked straight ahead and didn’t look at either you or the man to his right.
Several moments passed without an answer and he turned to look at you, “Didn’t think so.”
“We were having a conversation,” your ex nudged Zoro’s arm.
You knew the look on Zoro’s face, it was that sort of glazy-eyed focus he fell into before fighting.
“E/n, we’re done talking.”
“Are you sure this guy isn’t bothering you, Y/n? I felt like we were close to… reconnecting.”
Ugh, go away.
“Well, we weren’t,” you said.
Zoro stayed silent, sipping his beer, but you could tell he was very aware of everything going on around him.
“Alright,” he said, getting up. He grabbed his coat and walked over to you, leaning over your shoulder, his chest to your back, and pressed a kiss to your cheek. You watched Zoro’s fist clench out of the side of your eye.
You shifted uncomfortably in your seat, “Get off.”
As much as you hated the man, you knew Zoro was very capable of escalating things very quickly and you wanted to avoid causing a scene.
You felt a small rush of wind on the back of your neck and the cool edge of a blade settle there.
Uh-oh.
So much for staying calm.
“Step away from her,” Zoro snarled, “Now.” His sword was extended behind your head and the point was resting on E/n’s chest.
He put his hands up and smirked at Zoro, “Let’s not get too confident here, buddy.”
He pushed his jacket to the side and rested his hand on the gun that sat on his hip. He drew it slowly and dragged his finger to rest on the trigger.
You remembered that stupid gun and the fight that had ensued when you’d accidentally touched it.
Zoro laughed, loud and bold.
“I’ll have your hands cut off and skinned before you can pull the trigger. Make this a lot easier for yourself and leave.”
Zoro didn’t look anywhere other than his face. His arm was steady and the sword didn’t waver even an inch. Confident and unwavering, he resembled a tiger before it kills.
Your ex placed the gun back in its holster and turned to shoot you a pathetic smile, “Are you sure you want me to leave? You won’t see me again.”
You won’t see me again.
For a moment, all that hurt resurfaced. The striking realization that this was it. Your relationship was done and would never be what it had been again. This moment, right now, was truly it. You prepared yourself to say something, anything. But there was a growing lump in your throat so you stopped yourself from answering. You’d never forgive yourself if your voice broke now.
Zoro moved in front of you, blocking you from his view, “You’re conversation with her is done. You can talk to me and lose your life in the process or you can leave.”
“Bitch,” he muttered under his breath, still looking at you and turning to leave.
Before he’d even finished saying the word you watched Zoro’s sword cut through the air quicker than you could process, leaving him standing over your ex-boyfriend who was now clutching his bleeding chest on the floor.
You shot up, suddenly nauseated by the exchange and the unnerving satisfaction you felt.
Blood was soaking through his shirt and puddling in his palm, his breathing heavy and ragged.
You grabbed Zoro’s arm and he turned to look at you. His complexion completely changed the moment he looked down at you, concern pouring from all of his features.
Are you okay? he asked, his eyes speaking for him.
“Let’s go, Zo,” you said, tugging on his arm, “There’re marines in town.”
He nodded, lowering his sword but he didn’t sheath it.
“Just give me one more second.”
Zoro crouched down and nudged him with the handle of his sword like a cat playing with its prey.
“I know you’re alive, so listen ‘cause I’m not gonna repeat myself,” he drew his sword and brought it up next to his ear. You watched silently as he visibly flinched. Zoro brought the blade down to rest on his shoulder, and slid it toward himself, wiping the blood off of the sword and onto his shirt.
“If I ever see you again. Any time, any place- I guarantee that I will be the last thing you see on Earth. Understood?”
Zoro didn’t move at all, not a muscle, not an inch. He stayed watching the man like a hawk, clutching his bleeding chest until he gave a slight nod. Had you blinked you would’ve missed it.
Zoro stood up, dusting off his knees and sheathing his sword.
He turned toward the door and grabbed your hand on his way out taking you with him.
The urge to turn around and look bubbled up inside you—to see him as devastated as you had been, to see him experience the pain you had felt.
And as though he had read your mind Zoro gave your hand a squeeze.
Keep walking, he told you.
You steeled yourself and walked out hand in hand with Zoro, whose hand was warm with speckled blood.
He led you around the side of the bar, stopping only when you were tucked away in the alley.
It was silent, neither of you saying anything.
You looked up at him, making eye contact finally. He seemed somewhat embarrassed, his cheeks were fairly pink.
You figured maybe he was regretting his rash actions but he was only really freaking out about having held your hand for so long.
“Zoro…”
“It’s nothing, really. He was a dick. Ex-boyfriend?” he said, trying badly to hide his jealousy.
It was funny– how he could go from quasi-murderer to shy schoolboy in minutes.
“Something like that,” you replied, looking away from his face, messing around with the hem of your shirt. Your eyes were starting to water again.
“Hey, hey,” he said, leaning down to take your face between his thumb and forefinger, “What did he do? I’ll go back and kill him.”
You laughed, sniffling in between, “He just… He left me with no explanation and showed up out of nowhere today. It was so long ago I shouldn’t care. I don’t! But seeing him all of a sudden was just-”
Zoro wrapped his arms around you and pulled you into his chest where you let several more tears flow, staining his shirt.
He petted your head, holding you close to him with his free arm unsure of what to say.
“‘m sorry, Y/n,” he muttered, shuffling his feet, “I shouldn’t’ve asked.”
“It’s okay!” you insisted, wiping your eyes with the backs of your hand.
Zoro, who’d only known you for a few months, had defended you and your honor without a second thought. And though he’d probably been a little excessive your heart swelled at the thought of how he’d stood up for you.
““Sorry about your shirt,” you muttered, patting the stains on his chest where you’d soaked his shirt with tears,
He looked down and smiled, “It’s ok. It’s an old shirt anyway.”
You laughed, “Yeah and it’s not super clean either.”
His cheeks grew pink and he lightly punched your arm.
You suddenly grabbed his hands in yours, surprising him.
You squeezed his hands extra tight and looked up at him, “Thank you, Zoro. Seriously. I don’t know why I didn’t knock him out myself and I never shut down like that but I– Thank you.”
Zoro nodded, giving you a small squeeze back.
“I would do anything for you,” he admitted. More to himself than you.
Warmth crept up your neck and into your face.
“I mean– ‘Cause you’re my crewmate! I’d do anything for any of you guys, obviously. Maybe not Sanji but, well, yes him too just don’t tell him I said that.. But I meant, as in, like,” he rambled suddenly realizing what he’d said.
His hands still in yours you pulled him down, crashing your lips into his. The sudden addition of his full body weight on top of yours sent you both falling backward, stumbling until your back hit the brick wall behind you.
“Oh, shit– sorry! Sorry,” he said, pulling away from you.
“No, don’t be! I shouldn’t have….”
“Kissed me?”
“Pulled you so hard,” you responded, your hands still holding the other’s, “Thank you. I hope that shows I really mean it.”
His eyes were looking anywhere but yours and his cheeks were a furious shade of pink.
His hands were still in yours and he gently shook yours off.
“Zoro?”
He stayed silent, embarrassed and unbelievably happy, and wrapped his arms around you again. You were pulled into his chest and he stayed quiet, hugging you tight.
Ah, you understood, he didn’t want you seeing him so vulnerable.
“You know,” you said, your voice muffled by his chest, “I can’t kiss you again if you hold me down here.”
You felt him tense up and his arms stiffen around you.
“Fine with me,” he grumbled.
“You’re blushing, huh?”
“.........No.”
“Then let me out.”
“Will I get a kiss?”
“Thought you didn’t want one.”
He pushed you off his chest and started marching back in the general direction of the Thousand Sunny, grabbing his bandana and wrapping it around the lower half of his face, leaving you behind.
You laughed and ran behind him trying to grab the bandana away from his face which he was holding out of your reach.
You could see the ship in the distance and Zoro had started laughing too, getting more and more comfortable with the pink hue of his face.
Sanji and Nami were a little further down the way yelling at Luffy who’d ran off with a bag of groceries.
You paused for a moment, looking at all these people who loved you and, all of the sudden, the past wasn’t all that important.
Zoro turned, noticing your absence. Nami had spotted the two of you and was waving.
“Coming?”
