A Risk of Rain OC idea I had for a while. They are the Botanist, who may or may not have worked on REX:)

I'm thinking of making them spray random chemicals from the big container thing behind their back with that gun holstered? Additionally the plants on their hat are alive and also hydroponics, and change seasonally. I'm enjoying that plant hat a bit too much

N/A - REX, MUL-T, and Chef. I hc that inorganic matter can’t be corrupted in the same way as organic matter, in the sense that it can’t be controlled. It just shuts the robots down. And REX’s plant can’t move without the robot so-

9 - Engineer. He’s actually helpful and non-hostile. He built Commando a prosthetic to use after Bandit bit his arm off, although it does have some corruption in it so it has to be used sparingly. He also doesn’t move outside his workshop, as he’s tethered to his turrets now and carrying them out is really inconvenient. He would’ve stayed in his workshop anyways though, because building/tinkering with shit keeps him calm. He’s also one of the only ones that you can have a conversation with without them trying to scare or threaten you.

8 - Artificer. With how long she used to spend with Viend, she’s somewhat used to how the corruption feels, aura and pressure wise. Basically, when she got corrupted it wasn’t a hugely different feeling than what she was used to, and thus she wasn’t made that aggressive. She’ll talk to Commando and Seeker sometimes but gets agitated if she isn’t with Viend for a while. She also gets agitated if Commando or Seeker are near it. Mostly because they used to not like it and didn’t treat it the best, so she doesn’t trust them to have changed. They have though dw.

7 - Railgunner. Like Artificer she’s used to how the corruption feels, but she also enjoys the Void. So once she got corrupted, she started hanging out there 24/7. Constantly on edge but doesn’t blindly attack. She will attack if you even speak of trying to get her out the Void though. Mostly attacks Seeker, but she has and will attack Commando.

6 - Bandit. First to get corrupted 💔 Irritable but has self control, and is (mostly) calm around Captain and Commando. Just- ignore that he bit his arm off. He’s still loving towards Commando, he just really enjoys fucking with him. To Bandit, he was just “playing around” when he bit Commando. Will intervene if anyone other than him or Captain tries to/does hurt Commando.

5 - Captain. Like Bandit, just grumpier. Hisses when upset, so 80% of the time he’ll be hissing. Hates everyone on the ship that isn't Bandit or Commando, though from how he acts towards them you'd think he hates them too- He’s loving in private though. Really REALLY hateful towards Viend though, which causes a lot of issues with him and Artificer fighting.

4 - Loader. Do. Not. Go. Near. Her. She will grab you. Depending on her mood, she’ll either crush you to death, or talk your ears off. She’s also a fucking tank, so Commando and Seeker have a specific tranquilizer for her. Has killed Engineer before while annoyed because she knew he wouldn’t fight back. She also purposefully moves important stuff to make Commando and Seeker’s lives harder.

3 - Huntress. Perpetually annoyed, Commando and Seeker tend to stay out of her way unless they need her to do something. She’ll come to them if she needs something, and she normally gets pissed when bothered. THE BEEF WITH MERCENARY RAGES ON!!!!!!!!!!!! They fight CONSTANTLY, but there’s rarely a clear cut winner. Commando and Seeker say she won when she asks though. For their safety.

2 - Mercenary. Don’t make eye contact. Ever. It is a death sentence. He has several eyes too so that makes it much harder. Looking at him is also pretty bad, but it isn’t guaranteed death. He sees himself as better than everyone on the ship, so he believes no one has the right to look at him like equals. If Commando or Seeker ever need to talk to him, they HAVE to kneel. They fucking hate it, but he won’t listen otherwise, and he’ll most likely stab them.

whos your favorite survivors in ror2?

Favourite base survivor? Void fiend probably. Their mechanic of swapping between a more consistent commando-like character and an absolutely monstrous glass canon is really cool, and I love health as a mechanic (I’m also a big sucker for Rex), so health being the thing that determines the rate of their transformation is really cool. I can’t in good faith say they’re my favourite overall survivor though, as they only have one loadout, and they’re also a bit TOO busted and consistent, which means that after a few void fiend runs it can get a bit boring. If void fiend had another loadout then I think they’d be the clear winner.

My favourite overall is probably the loader. I love melee characters, and she’s so much fun to play. Every single part of her loadout is fun, and I can enjoy her no matter which I use. With her pylon she gets free bands without having to pot roll. Thunder slam is capable of nutty damage. Her fists are probably the most fun skill in the entire GAME. She’s also my most picked and most used (with acrid and Rex as second place respectively). My one critique of her is that when you use her m2 you’re completely locked into that direction of movement as if you jumped on a geyser, it’s probably done to make it feel better but idk it’s really annoying when I don’t have any backup mags and I let go and am like ‘welp I’m going this way now’. Such a small complaint for an otherwise FLAWLESS character

My least picked survivor is multi, I’ve recently come to appreciate double rebar, but idk I just think that commando does his job as a proc monster better, and I don’t think tanks are very good in this game as the best way to play is not get hit. The least time spent is artificer, just because when I play her I win or die very quickly 😂 I’ve came to appreciate her a lot more with eclipse.

I think every survivor is great, and most of them have an argument to be my favourite, but void fiend and loader come out on top.

What’s your favourite survivor? I assume railgunner, which, fair enough, she’s just a long ranged loader, with a vanilla pillarskip, ooh lah lah, and she’s so satisfying to play, I just a.) am not good enough to absolutely love her and b.) think her mobility can be lacking at times (even though the amount of tech with her is insane)

Have you seen RIORDAN WILLINGHAM around Faerune? They’re a VAMPIRE who REJECTS the Unseelie Queen’s reign. People have heard they’re INVENTIVE, KINDHEARTED & HOSPITABLE but can also be HEDONISTIC, IMPULSIVE & RUDE. We’ll see where they fall when the revolution arrives, but until then they can be found working as a TATTOO ARTIST & BAR/SPEAKEASY OPERATOR. 

RORY AT A GLANCE

Name: Riordan Jacob Willingham Aliases: Rory, RJ, Ror, Bud, Bolts, October continues to call him anything but his name, but “Joe Fucks” is less frequent, having returned to Rory’s standby nickname with the band: Speedbump. Age: 229, but he died at 30. [Born November 15th] Affiliations: Drummer for Porphyria, former head of the Bertrachters Des Verfalls coven/cult, Former neurosurgeon at Faerune Hospital, current member of the Rex Vespidae. Occupation: Owner and Bartender at The 13th Tombstone Tavern and The Hive Speakeasy, Tattoo Artist, Amateur Inventor and Craftsman, Comedian. Gender/Pronouns: Cis Male, He/Him Sexuality: Bisexual Demiromantic Species: Vampire (Turned Witch) Common Scents: Furniture and wood polish, gun oil, sawdust and various woods, faint peppery/spicy undertones and expensive, masculine cologne with cedar and mahogany hints. Quirks: Heavily tattooed, gauged ears, some of his tattoos for military service, others seeming to indicate a former position of power or magical background, “Ab Inferis Usque ad Sacellum” in a ring at the base of his throat. AND WHAT HAS BECOME OF YOU?

In his upset about the change, about a seemingly permanent captivity in a gilded, crystalline cage- a strange sense of relief washes over Rory Willingham. Cut off from the mortal world, there’s a recognition that Penelope may never find him- that he’s been freed to exist without constantly looking over his shoulder for the ghosts of his past. The Beholders, his wife, everything that lingered to make him Johannes Fuchs sits behind a wall he cannot pass through- that they cannot pass through. There’s a safety under Opal’s reign for people like Rory and his dear sister- but the change in power leaves him sick in the pit of his stomach nevertheless. The council, despite their inactivity, represented the whims of many of the species of Faerune- Opal made clear her intention to represent only the whims of one: Opal.

It’s something that echoes a position he held nearly 2 centuries ago, corruption and hedonism in lavish parties and quick, efficient crushing of dissent- Rory watches the Unseelie pretend and parade that their rule is better, Opal kind and benevolent so long as she is obeyed. Rory sees only the Beholders of old living within those who should have learned better in their millennia alive. Obedience in fear is control, plain and simple, and when October puts forward the suggestion they move to protect their own, Rory agrees with little hesitation. The Rex Vespidae begin in late August of 2022, and by the next year, number within the mid-forties, Rory taking a rather hands off approach, offering suggestions rarely to the de facto leadership of October and Calem- he has no want for power, a reminder of what he once was creeping in at the corners.

Having been clean of drugs and drinking in moderation for around a year and a half, Rory’s motions to gain perhaps further custody of his daughter has become more of a concerted push- no longer transient due to his inability to tour, and largely clean of his vices, he easily meets the requirements the former family court set into place...  But it’s not to them he answers now. Ortenia was not stagnant either, in the appearance of the Unseelie, and while Rory took steps to establish a place with the Vespidae, his former lover took her steps to assume her birthright. He could have been the perfect father on paper, with no dings on his record to speak of, or associations of concern, and he would still likely meet with what was handed down: Custody remains unchanging, really he may have too much, a vampire raising a fae even despite half her bloodline being his own isn’t proper. It’s his contribution that damned her to being stuck within stone walls- It’s Ortenia’s that damns his chances to be the father he longs to be.

Despite this, it seems his desperate last grasp to see her may have won him one point of favor, Ortenia more willing to allow their daughter to spend time with her father- freeing her to spend her time partaking in the lavish parties without worrying about the way Parkley may choose to behave (Like a typical toddler dragged to a stuffy rich person party, typically) among her peers. While still only agreed upon for every other weekend, Rory leaps at any opportunity to have his daughter with him, and allow her to escape the facade of perfection forced upon her- and a name she has little love for.

With his position in the Rex Vespidae, Rory has gotten closer with many of the vampires, hybrids, and feeders/protected persons of the city beneath their banner, and with the prospect of the curfew, he has recently finished work on a hidden meeting place and speakeasy located in his lakeside lodge, known to those who know about it as “The Hive” it’s a bit of an open secret- last call at the Tombstone doesn’t mean going home, it often simply means traveling out of the city limits and to the hidden, book-lined walls of the the speakeasy, set in the grand library of a man who doesn’t seem quite like the reading type, it moves to serve as another place for the clan to gather, and for those of Faerune not beholden to the throne to gather and seek some comfort in old friend.

Having grown closer to his sister in the meantime, Rory is thankful that she’s come into her own, though he worries for her, trapped in one place when nearly 2 centuries of her life had been spent hunting down those that made them the people they’d tried so hard to run from- he wonders if stagnation is the cure, or a further stressor on her hunger for the death of those who sit in power. He wonders, in fact, if mere assassination is where the line falls, or if regicide sleeps in the young woman now calling herself Fee Connelly.
