Hello! could I request a Druig imagine where he and the reader (an eternal with water powers) confess but then the whole group splits up and she didn't go with him and went off to be a teacher or something like that but then the snap and she went to find him because he was what she needed? (with a fluffy ending please) I love your writing! (I hope this makes sense)
A/n: this imagine has proven me physically incapable of restraint in my word count soooo apologies if its too long!! Also, full disclosure, i have only seen the movie once and although the general gist of the plot is accurate (hopefully) in this work, i know that the scene - particularly the Eternals breakup at Tenochtitlan - is not word for word accurate, but i tried my best & claim creative license for the rest. Hope you love it!!! Not gonna lie, i am vibing with Adva as an Eternal, so netflix if you’re reading this, gimme a call and we can do a spinoff tv show or whatever (uhm, rooney mara for Adva, anyone???)
The Power of Water - 1/4
Matchup: Druig (Eternals) x Fem!Eternals Reader w/ water powers (name Adva, Hebrew for small wave)
Continue reading: Chapter II | Chapter III | Chapter IV
Warnings: violence, (mild) implied sex, Eternals spoilers
Chapter I: Tenochtitlan, 1521 AD
Adva sat in the moonlight on the edge of the river, letting the water rush over her submerged feet as she listened to the stories it had to tell. It was quiet to human ears - nothing but the soft sound of running water and the occasional sound of laughter drifting from the village in the distance. But Adva had felt a threat growing in the waters for the past few days. It had started several months ago, by the ocean, but it had been no more than whispers of a faceless threat. Recently, the threat had drawn closer and was beginning to take form. There were faces now - men’s faces, human men, clad in armor, with banners of amber and scarlet behind them. Weapons, too, ones that Adva hadn’t encountered previously in human conflicts; weapons that used fire and metal to kill from a distance.
Adva focused intently on the fractured images she could discern from the water. Luminous, golden waves covered her forearms and swirled around her wrists as she used her powers to pull the water’s stories into her mind. Her eyes were closed, but she was far from relaxed, her brow knitted in concern, splinters of fear working their way into her heart as more images flashed by.
The sound of a snapping twig somewhere in the forest behind her right shoulder interrupted her reverie. She wasn’t alone.
“Druig, no one likes a spy,” she called quietly from the riverbank.
Druig stepped out of the darkness of the underbrush, soaking in the sight of Adva bathed in moonlight from above, golden light from her powers as they radiated around her arms. Even after all these thousand years, she still caused his heart to skip a beat.
Adva opened her eyes, letting the water recede away from her and her powers dissolve into the night, as she stood to turn towards her fellow Eternal. He hesitated on the edge of the forest, unsure if she was inviting him forward or asking him to turn back.
Noticing his faltering step, Adva reached out a hand towards him. “Come here,” she encouraged, casting him a playful smile.
It had been nearly seven thousand years since Adva, Druig, and the rest of the Eternals had found their way to Earth. At first, the planet had been awash with calamity at nearly every turn. Deviants had run rampant for the first three thousand odd years, requiring near constant vigilance and battles from the Eternals to keep the fragile human race from collapsing into extinction. As the frequency and intensity of battles with Deviants had subsided, humanity had begun to hit its stride, which presented its own set of unique challenges as the Eternals sought to gently mold, encourage, and shape the future of Earth’s inhabitants.
Recently, however, humans had begun to shear away from the Eternals’ sculpting influence. Ajack had become increasingly forceful in her instructions not to interfere. Generally, the Eternals took little issue with stepping back; after all, they had earned rest after millenia of fighting. At first, Adva had relished the opportunity to explore the natural beauties of the Earth, places human eyes wouldn’t see for generations to come. But, as the frenzy of battles had worn off, Adva felt a tension growing in her fellowship, and in herself.
She knew Druig felt it too. Of all the Eternals, Druig had the most intimate connections to humanity by virtue of his powers. Stepping into their minds - or not stepping in, at times - came with a unique burden that he alone carried. The more time Adva spent with him, the more she saw this burden. And the more she worried for him. She couldn’t put it into words that suited her, but Adva felt a growing need to be close to Druig, to protect him. In the quietest corners of her heart, Adva already knew that she was in love with him, and likely had been from the very beginning. But living countless millennia - not even counting the ones that Adva couldn’t remember, the ones whose memories had been removed by Arishem after previous Emergences - had made Adva perplexingly out of touch with her heart's needs and wants.
Druig smiled, taking her hand in his as he joined her on the river bank, looking out across the water as the moon’s reflection danced across its surface. In the distance, Druig could hear snippets of the song that had broken out amongst the villagers. Tenochtitlan was in the midst of a Rain Festival, and there was an ebullient mood amongst the humans.
“What does it say?” he asked Adva, gesturing to the water. He sidled closer to her as she turned her back to him to look at the river. Her expression grew pensieve.
“I’m not sure…” she started, her lips tightening in worry. “Something’s coming… it’s not good. Other people, humans. They’ve got weapons I’ve never seen before…” Adva’s voice trailed off as she thought back to the images of the warriors she’d seen in the water. Druig remained silent next to her, both out of reverence for her thoughts but also because he was struck speechless by the image of the moon’s reflection dancing in her blue eyes. He took a silent inhale, breathing in her scent, which was a mixture of summer rain, fresh cotton, and a hint of citrus. As much as the words Adva spoke foretold of a coming threat, Druig found he couldn’t bring himself to focus on anything but her at the moment.
He let his breath out slowly, resolving to tell her of the feelings he’d been holding onto for the past thousand years. His heart sped up as he brought the words to his tongue.
“Adva,” he started, brushing her hair off her shoulder. She turned to him, the shadow of fear in her eyes not quite gone but slowly vanishing as she looked up at him. He noticed that she seemed to lean closer to him, her chin angled slightly upward as she held his eye contact. “There’s something that needs to be said…” Druig swallowed thickly, willing himself to keep focused in spite of the intense urge to close the distance between their lips.
“Yes?” Adva asked, her voice barely above a whisper. She certainly wasn’t making this easy on him.
Despite his best intentions, Druig found his mind giving itself over to his instincts. Instead of delivering the recited words he’d dwelled over since last winter, he found his hands coming to cradle her face, one sliding down her elegant neck as he pressed his lips to hers. For an agonizing moment, Adva remained frozen under his touch, and he felt certain that she’d recoil from him. But in the next instant, he felt her step into his embrace, pressing her body up the length of his, one of her hands entwining into the hair at the base of his neck, the other trailing lazy circles on the skin of his bicep, sending shivers all over his body. Their lips moved in unison, a shared sigh of relief to realize that the feelings each had were mutual.
After what felt both like an eternity in the making and not nearly long enough, they separated. All traces of anxiousness had left Adva, her face open in a grin as she giggled. Druig let his forehead connect with hers, joining her in laughter.
“What was it you wanted to say again?” she teased, breathless, causing Druig to laugh more.
“Can’t seem to think of it now,” he retorted, letting his hands fall to her waist as she leaned against him. The same moonlight glinted off the same river next to them, but it felt like a completely different world that they’d stepped into.
With a mischievous smirk, Adva looked up at Druig, hoping he could read her thoughts through her eyes. “Well, in that case, if you’re done talking, why don’t we find some other way to pass the time…”
Druig’s skin felt kissed by flames at the suggestion, an impatient coil starting to form deep in his gut, and an equally impish grin danced across his handsome features.
“Now that’s an idea…”

GRACIE WALSH as NANCY DREW
Given her penchant for mystery novels and continuing quest to always find the truth, the choice of Nancy Drew was a no-brainer for Gracie. Though it’s not the most recognizable of costumes, it’s by far the most fun she’s had dressing up in years. Everyone’s favorite girl detective complete with headband, plaid skirt, and handy notebook will be circling the party- just don’t scuff her saddle shoes.

I know it hasn’t been but a couple of weeks since Halloween but I got drawn back into the mood having run across the Sisters from Kubo and the Two Strings. These two characters were so menacing with their unrelenting masked smile. Voiced by Rooney Mara, the sisters nearly sing and laugh their taunts through the film. I would love to have seen them more, but I suppose good storytelling leaves you wanting more. In any case I thought I’d do a quick sketch to show my love for the characters. . . . #characterart #characterillustration #characterdesign #fanart #kubo #kuboandthetwostrings #studiolaika #halloween #japan #stopmotion #stopmotionanimation #animation #puppetry #creepy #spookyfun #horror #fables #ninja #samurai https://www.instagram.com/p/ClTiu4YrNng/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

6 lgbtq+ movies to watch this christmas
I hope you’re still in the Christmas spirit, because I am, and also because I forgot to post this earlier.
Let It Snow
[image ID: a poster for the movie "Let It Snow". The only text on the poster is the movie’s name. It shows the eight main characters of the movie lying on their backs in the snow so that their heads make a circle. The cast includes Shameik Moore, Jacob Batalon, and Kiernan Shipka among others. End ID]
This is a very sweet very cheesy movie, based on a book I like by John Green, Lauren Myracle, and Maureen Johnson. The focus of the movie isn’t entirely on LGBTQ+ characters, but one of the 3 main couples is queer. I strongly recommend the book, which unfortunately doesn’t have the queer storyline, but the movie isn't too bad either and has the added bonus of lesbians.
Single All the Way
[image ID: a Netflix poster for the movie "Single All the Way". The poster reads “Peter and Nick are just friends. Peter’s family knows better.” It features Michael Urie as Peter and Philemon Chambers as Nick, as well as Jennifer Coolidge, Kathy Najimy, and Jennifer Robertson as members of Peter’s family. End ID]
This movie is a classic friends to lovers, fake to real relationship, and it’s very sweet. It also doesn’t make a big deal of the characters’ sexualities. Unfortunately it tries way too hard to be modern and relevant and comes off as cringey. Would recommend for trash watching.
Carol
[image ID: a poster for the movie "Carol," directed by Todd Haynes, screenplay by Phyllis Nagy. The poster is split in half to show two women, each filling up her half of the poster completely, but with only one side of her face showing. They are played by Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara. End ID]
This movie did "period film" very well, but if you don't like slower, older-feeling movies, maybe skip this one. And for those of you who don't like period pieces for the ambiguous or unhappy endings, don't worry. This movie is realistic but not without feeling. I will warn you of one sex scene halfway through the movie for those who don't like that.
Happiest Season
[image ID: a poster for the movie "Happiest Season". A picture frame hangs on a wall, containing a picture of nine characters in front of a Christmas tree. In the front, Abby, played by Kristen Stewart, is grinning with her arm around Harper, played by Mackenzie Davis. Harper looks shocked and worried. They are surrounded by their friends and Harper's family, among them are characters played by Dan Levy, Aubrey Plaza, and Victor Garber. End ID]
This movie is kind of an antithesis to Single All the Way. Instead of mlm friends in a fake relationship, this is wlw pretending to be friends because one of them isn't out yet. I adore this cast and the movie is pretty cute if at times expected.
The Christmas Setup
[image ID: a poster for the movie "The Christmas Setup". A woman played by Fran Drescher holds mistletoe above a gay couple who are embracing. Ben Lewis’s character is kissing Blake Lee’s character on the cheek. All three are wearing red or green sweaters, and snow is falling around them. End ID]
Cheesy. Disgusting. Too sweet. I am only willing to let this attitude slide on December 16th through December 31st. However, it’s gay, and we need more bad gay Christmas movies to even out the bad straight Christmas movies. I now realize that there’s also a gay Christmas trope because this movie was exactly Single All the Way all over again (without the horrible awful "cool" acting).
Under the Christmas Tree
[image ID: a poster for the movie "Under the Christmas tree". The poster is frighteningly similar to the previous one. Isabella, played by Wendy Crewon, smiles in the near background as two women, played by Elise Bauman and Tattiawna Jones, embrace in the foreground. The background is of a few fir trees. End ID]
This movie was surprisingly sweet, if a bit cringey. I guess there's no such thing as an actually good Christmas movie, but I enjoyed it.

*A MUST READ:*
Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart never broke up. Indeed, their split was merely a distraction for the press that would guarantee the former Twilight stars privacy. In the interim period, where Pattinson got engaged to FKA Twigs and Stewart dated a series of women, including St. Vincent, the pair were actually living in wedded bliss. Their PR game was so effective that it helped to hide no fewer than two pregnancies for Stewart. Now, the Pattinson-Stewart family are happy together, laughing at the ignorance of the press and public who believe they broke up years ago and moved onto fulfilling and happy relationships with other people.
Of all the weird celebrity conspiracies that pollute the internet, the Robsten fandom may be my favourite one. It has everything: Press conspiracies, outlandish theories that would put Moon landing truthers to shame, the inability to tell reality from fiction, and of course, bad photoshops. Every now and then, when I see Pattinson and Stewart in the headlines, I go and visit the tin-hatters’ sites for that potent combination of entertainment and fear for my life. It’s astounding that they’re still keeping up this façade.
As time passes, I wonder more and more if they truly believe it or if they’re going full My Immortal with the scam. It’s too outlandish to be real, yet the emotions behind it clearly are.
Sadly, this is nothing new for the world of shippers, nor is it limited to the breeding pair of Twilight. Name a prominent pop culture property and the chances are there are hardcore shippers whose interest goes beyond a fizzy hobby. Some fans truly believe that Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson are a real couple, which is hysterical because their chemistry levels in the Fifty Shades series are sub-zero. The stars of Outlander face the same shippers. Taylor Swift and Karlie Kloss are secret lesbian lovers, according to a subset of their fandom. Cate Blanchett will eventually leave her husband and children for Carol co-star Rooney Mara, thus freeing her from an exploitative bearding relationship with Joaquin Phoenix. The Larry fandom have yet to admit defeat, even as both Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson admit the fan delusions over their supposed secret romance hurt their real-life friendship. The Supernatural guys may never shake those conspiracies.
It isn’t all romance related either. Spare a thought for poor Benedict Cumberbatch, whose already overzealous fan-base includes a portion of people who think he was trapped into marriage and fatherhood by his wife, who they paint as the modern-day iteration of Medea. They don’t even think his kids are real. Apparently, one of them is clearly a doll.
I could go on, listing the many other fandoms I’ve come across with these near identical conspiracies of secret relationships, hidden children, public relations bullying, and so on. From Scandal to Orange is the New Black to The Hunger Games, it’s as big a part of fandom as cosplay and dirty fanfiction. A lot of the time, the celebrities being obsessed over don’t even know it’s happening.
If they call it out, as Robert Pattinson did, or mock it, like Armie Hammer recently did on Instagram after someone DM-d him to claim he should be gay like his character in Call Me By Your Name, then they write that off as simply proving their point. The majority of fans deride and condemn this behaviour, partly because it reflects badly on everyone else but mostly because it’s blatant bullshit that should be treated as such. What is most striking about these myriad conspiracies is how eerily similar they all are in terms of tone and content.
The basic set-up for a tin-hatter shipping conspiracy is thus: The pair are in love, the pair are in a serious relationship, but they have to hide it from the world because of ‘evil PR’. The nature of this shadowy public relations organization is never made clear. It’s mostly rooted in conjecture and a hazy understanding of how the entertainment industry has worked over the decades.
Historically, publicists and studios have operated with a certain degree of shadiness. In the Golden Era of Hollywood, where studios reigned supreme, a star’s image could be kept on a tight leash and their indiscretions hidden from the public. Fixers like Eddie Mannix (made famous in the Coen Brothers’ movie Hail, Caesar!) could clear up all manner of problems if the occasion called for it. Pregnancies could be hidden, illegal abortions procured, marriages annulled or concealed, and even the occasional murder dealt with (allegedly). We know this stuff happened, and we know that today, publicists do a lot of work to keep their clients happy. That probably doesn’t extend so far as to covering up marriages and multiple pregnancies and fake babies.
The psychologies behind these tin-hatter conspiracies tend to be remarkably similar too. There’s always massive amounts of paranoia at the heart of their delusions. Arrogance is key as well. You need infallible ego to maintain repeatedly debunked fantasies. They talk of their conspiracies as if they’re the most obvious truths in the world, deriding the ‘ignorant masses’ who refuse to see the reality in front of them, which they’ve kindly circled in MS Paint. The mentality is frequently rooted in a strong brand of self-victimization: They tie their theories to social issues like homophobia and claim anyone who opposes their belief that the One Direction guys are in love are clearly bigots. Even when the people in question call out this nonsense, they’re written off as poor closeted prisoners of invincible publicists. The game of tin-hating shippers is designed so that they never lose.
That’s the sad part of this all. They won’t be proven wrong simply because they’ve invested too much of themselves into this fantasy. They run around in circles, desperately claiming everything is against them and only they are smart enough to know the truth.
If Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan insist they’re just friends, it’s only to throw everyone off the scent. When Tony Goldwyn talks of his love for his wife, it’s just to distract everyone from his romance with Kerry Washington. If Robert Pattinson is smiling in public, it’s because he’s thinking of Kristen; if he’s looking a bit down, it’s because he’s thinking of Kristen.
When the fantasy does begin to crumble, the tin-hatters get violent in their rhetoric. Taylor Schilling’s rumoured boyfriend briefly deleted his social media after receiving harassment from her fans who think she’s with Laura Prepon (who just had a baby with Ben Foster). Rooney Mara’s so-called fans called her a disgrace for dating a man and claimed she was letting down LGBTQ+ kids everywhere because of it. Robert Pattinson’s then-girlfriend FKA Twigs faced all manner of horrific racist and sexist abuse for simply existing. It can be easy to laugh people like this off, but we’ve also seen what happens to celebrities when their obsessive fans decide to invade their lives. A 19-year-old fan of Lana Del Rey drove cross-country to her house, broke into her garage and tweeted about it. An obsessive fan of Paula Abdul committed suicide outside her house. Rebecca Schaeffer’s stalker shot her on her own doorstep.
Real person shipping (or RPF) doesn’t bother me in theory. If you just treat it like any other fandom hobby - safe, private, clearly fiction - then go for it. There’s a major difference between liking two actors and writing silly fanfiction about them and going to extremes to prove they’re actually married.
The people who cross that line are a minority, but they’re a loud and insidious minority who shouldn’t be written off as mere ‘crazies’.
This phenomenon is undoubtedly fascinating and reveals a lot about various intersections of celebrity, media, the internet, fandom, and so on. It’s worth keeping an eye on, if only to ensure nobody gets hurt, because it’s not unique to internet culture. This stuff breeds, and that should concern us all.
Now, when do I get my shadowy PR conspiracy cheque?
