You wouldn’t last an hour in the asylum where they raised me (the sims 1&2. And I’m talking to people who have only played ts4)

#sims 3 enjoyers you can perhaps also relate to this. i really genuinely don’t know #i didn’t like the look of ts3 so i never really played it #my quarrel with ts4 players is when they whinge about not being able to do some esoteric building thing #and i’m like girl. i can’t even set different heights on different parts of my roof #(they did change that in mansions and gardens but i don’t have m&g because i have a mac 🫠)#or when they’re casually building basements and i’m like you need to use an extremely specific cheat to do basements in ts2 #and if you don’t absolutely nail it; your basement will be full of water. there are tutorials on this #the one that really gets me though is the pathing #i know sims can still experience pathing errors and inaccessible shit in ts4 but it’s SO much worse in ts2 #i don’t even try building a kitchen without at least 2 empty counters because the motherfuckers will leave plates on there and decide it #means that they can’t cook #also gets me when i see people ✨building a tiny house in the sims 4✨ and i’m like that wouldn’t even be CLOSE to functional in ts2 #i had to download a mod just to be able to use bunk beds #cluttering surfaces? forget it. you need to use a system of invisible shelves #earlier my sim couldn’t get in her shower because there was a counter next to it. NEXT TO it. not in front of it #they have zero ability to step over plates; baby bottles; teddy bears or any other inconsequential item #they have dance parties in the bathroom #genuinely the game of all time. wouldn’t play any other simulation #personal

I finally got myself to eat for the first time today, now it's- honestly, it's probably still fine for you bitches. I'm tired, I'm not gonna do much today.

sick of car problems. I’ve dumped over two grand into this thing over the past few months and I have to do it again on monday

#windshield cracked all the way across #replaced my $300 battery because I thought that was the issue. turns out it was the $1000 starter that was messed up #then it turned out that the starter was broken because of a $400 leak #and did you know. that you can’t get your inspection sticker renewed if your windshield is cracked #it’s $300 for that #not to mention I’ve had to have my tires replaced and patched because people throw roofing nails like skipping stones around here apparently #now my brake pads are in desperate need of replacing and who knows how much that is #and I had to have the splash guard removed because it kept falling off but they did it WRONG #so now I have this piece that touches my tire and I’m going to explode the sun

#house projects #personal #legitimately becoming my most loathed project #its not HARD per se #ok yes it is hard #its hot and exhausting #and so fucking itchy #i hate scooping up the old stuff but i have to #im also having to rip up/out the old disconnected wiring as i go #and clean up the trash that was left from previous workers who apparently gave 0 shits #im almost halfway done so #its getting there #but ugh #it makes my back and knees hurt #and i keep catching my head on roofing nails #one day ill scalp myself #i could wear a helment but its already miserable enough wearing thick long sleeves pants gloves boots and a mask #i should wrar goggles too but they fog up and i cant see #i really really hope this will be worth it #also im pretty pleased to see that i at least got enough insulation #i may have extra so ill just layer it over the first layer #howse

I was without power for roughly 21 hours and a branch fell and hit my house and half the food I bought Tuesday is no longer safe to eat and humidity is sitting at 86%, but I have survived the derecho that absolutely spanked Illinois yesterday.

ok so not to bbc sherlock post in the year of our lord 2023 but I've been rewatching lately, and in my procrastination as to avoid burdening myself with season 2 episode 3 The Reichenbach Fall, I rewatched the unaired pilot.

objectively speaking it's overall not as well executed as the actual Study In Pink, the acting, scoring, editing, cinematography, sets-

but I gotta say, I do prefer the overall flow of the plot? it's half an hour shorter of course, so maybe I just simply didn't have the time to get bored, but I feel like the whole Mycroft thing not being present helps SO MUCH.

can't help but feel like they could have pushed Mycroft's introduction into The Blind Banker which overall isn't a very strong episode anyway.

I also kinda liked the whole confrontation with the cabbie better in the unaired version just because Sherlock was drugged and as such at an obvious disadvantage.

I never really liked the way the cabbie's whole spiel was presented, claiming he talked the victims into willingly taking poison only to reveal he threatened them with certain death instead of a 50/50 chance, and the omission of the (fake) gun and introduction of the drugging of the victims actually makes. more sense to me?

something about him saying he'd just force the poison down Sherlock's throat if he refused to choose a pill is much more effective to me personally than just having him point a fake gun.

#the unaired pilot does have some diamonds in the rough! some parts are just plain cringe tho lol #for a great part because you could tell the actors didn't have thr characters entirely nailed down yet #also that one shot of sherlock on the roof for some reason with john gazing up at him gayly???
