i think i was the first monkey to type it into a popular post (a reblog comment that blew up, and then there were other popular posts to dunk on twitter and it became a tentpole of our identity)... but it's a pretty obvious joke that i'm sure lots of people came up with independently, so i don't know how much credit i could really take.

but here's the weird thing... that "popular post" apparently disappeared??

i found a handful of reddit screenshots, but no sign of the post itself anywhere still on tumblr.

i went into my archive around that post id (late november 2020) in case the problem was a change in link url style or that op's username changed, but the post isn't there. i googled phrases from the post itself (both with site:tumblr and otherwise) and nothing.

i don't think i've ever seen a viral tumblr post disappear and take reblogs with it like that. does this happen all the time?

currently reading: :( I haven't done much non-academic reading in a hot minute unfortunately which means my answer is thoroughly meh: Forensic Accounting and Fraud Examination, 2nd ed.

currently watching: oh man tagging me in this post is just a trap to expose me for being boring, clearly. as some of you already know I hardly ever watch shows, so the closest thing I have to an answer is that I've been watching NBA summer league games because I have no better basketball to watch right now. OR my parents have been binging Monk lately and I occasionally catch bits of episodes if I happen to be eating when they start watching

currently craving: actually just had some chocolate covered raisins like five minutes ago so not craving anything all that much rn! also if I think too hard about this I WILL start craving something else which would be bad so I'll leave it there

coffee or tea: oh my god this one really was designed to make me specifically have the most boring possible answers.. I don't drink either of them, mostly on account of my adhd but also I don't feel particularly drawn to them even putting that aside. my mom has a coffee problem though so I will say coffee as a show of solidarity, but really it's neither

a really fascinatin' case right here. i went into this one relatively prepared for a simple case. and by all accounts, it was. i took to google, typed in the phrase, and got the original post no problem. however...

there was no image included in this post.

i did a little bit more diggin' and i found that this particular post did not seem to originate as the image form, but rather as a tumblr post. it had the phrase borrowed and slapped onto an image of a flask that had the engravin' of "F. Scott Fitzgerald" on it. i've linked the original tumblr post plus one of the few references i could find to the image variant.
