Wizards Hearts Recs: Kid!Fic

Wizards Hearts was a four-month-long Drarry reading fest. Players were given a playing deck of 52 tropes, and were asked to find 52 different fics to read and comment on to fill their decks. To prevent the same few fics from being read, fics were restricted to only being used for the game three times before being considered ineligible for further points. The Complete Cases Of Sherlock Holmes And John Watson. All 366 cases plus assorted interludes, hiatuses, codas &c.

1898-1899. Sherlock and John have to hasten back to England in order to help a relative with a decidedly unusual last request. Then there are dog-poisoners, a DIY disaster-maker, a market-trader, an evil stepmother, a gold statue, a fraudulent forger, birthday boys, ugly dates, insane Iberians and loose Australians, plus some dancing men who someone wants to stop dancing – permanently! Sherlock also finds time to help out John's least favourite Cornish ex-fisherman of all time, as well as solving the disappearance of Mr. James Phillimore (along with his umbrella) and the reappearance of some rather unfortunate truths from over a millennium ago. But some dodgy furniture leads to another nearly fatal encounter down in Kent, and this time John is really angry with his friend. Things do not look good.

1. A Chance Meeting

What would turn into the business deal of a lifetime began with a chance meeting. While studying abroad in 2010, London-native anesthetist Erin Choa decided she would go north to Scotland, to study in its capital city of Edinburgh. And it was there while on her program that she met the love of her life.

Jean-Baptiste Gois (JB for short) was a mechanical engineer, who had come to Scotland from France. He had started off on a nine-month program, yet ended up staying on for nine years. The two fell in love, and got engaged. Both at the age of 31, they looked into what their next great adventure together would be. Little did they know where their fairy tale romance would take them.

50. One thing you know now that you wish you had known as a kid? I wish I had known that I would lose my dad and maternal grandparents at such a young age. Dad was killed when I was 11 and grandparents at 19. I would have made more memories toward the end of their lives.

text to speech tests not going well. the aesthetic of the voice has been so typecast to cyborg/sci-fi in recent popular tv-film. i don’t want that to be main focus

vocaloids have limited words, also expensive and will come in popular voices age Hatsune Miku… don’t want that character to be the focus over the text. would prefer a nondescript character voice

Elysia Crampton - Petrichrist. i like this mix of a traditionally ‘good’ beat with cartoonish/‘ugly’ horn sounds.

Elysian dream - vintage synth sounds… horns heard in this track too… not the best beat to dance too but has a club/dance familiarity that makes the weirder sounds accessible i think

Reina - some kind of 90s game nostalgia… sounds like f-zero x or other driving games but with latino drums… bringing race/culture in to popular western memories… i like this

voice acting… dreamy american voice… painting job application as far more joyous than it is

voice is kinda blurry and lots of pops… but it adds to how DIY it is and also how bad pre recorded voice messages tend to be. v fragile.

THIS IS NOT A TEST - on nuclear war. warped voice discussing fear of nuclear war. the style feels quite dated. the vocal pedal and very ‘warm’ recording sound.. less crisp.. reminds me a bit of my sylvie tests. relevant to the tastes of the time. something on today’s queer fears with very contemporary digi recording aesthetic is what i am going for.. i like the listening space she has set up… actually i think it’s a found space but has an eerie precarious feel to it.. like the vocals.

Essentially fetishism is a personal relationship between man and object and the identity of the owner is reflected or imposed onto that object. Fetishism humanises the object.
