But maybe with no one home to exterminate they didn’t think it worth it?”

The words came out of Romana’s mouth like arrows that have been released from the bow string that pierced straight into Braxiatel’s hearts, digging in deep as broken shards the further they went and every time he breathed, he could feel the pain intensify. 

Romana always had a way with words with that beautiful mouth of hers. She could talk and flirt her way out of anything and political insults was like poetry to her and music to his ears. 

From across the console, he slowly raises his head and glares at her. “Believe me, I have been to hell and this isn’t it.” He retorts and waves his hands about as though done with everything. “After all I have done for you my dear Romana, is this how you treat me?”

they let out an amused chuckle. you have to give it to them, time lord politics can be so, very amusing. not in and on themselves, of course, but when you look at them through the scale of the big picture.  don’t kill them –we’ve already killed their neighbours. oh, don’t you interfere with that –we’ve only just arranged it! only the amusement ends where the annoyance begins. they can appreciate hypocrisy, when done correctly. when it’s the perfectly timed punchline to a well written joke.  but time lords can’t even do that without wearing it down to becoming insufferable.

and she is the very epitome of time lord. the horrified tone in her voice, the disbelief. as if she hadn’t been personally responsible of decisions to do much, much worse. at least they’re never coy about it.    ‘ why, you know me. a little bit of this, a little bit of that  ’

they wave their hand flippantly, with a just a flippant shrug.  ‘ you know how i like to keep busy ’  at that their scrunch their nose and give her a little grin. picking at prodding at her nerves is just so much more fun when she is so … stuffy about everything. they could all use with a redefinition of the concept of fun.    ‘  speaking of . is this ... scolding going to take long?  yes yes, i know i’ve been very very bad,  whatever particular incident made it to your  so very exclusive priority list : yes, it was on me,  mea culpa.  apologies, won’t do it again, whatnot.  ’        they do have business to attend.  they won’t do whatever was worthy summoning them here for again, no, but with this wild imagination of theirs. someone’s got to keep the universe on its toes.

The problem was, he’d had a lot of coffee lately - something that never bode well for those around him. It made him hyperactive and incredibly impulsive, hence why he was practically bounding off the walls as he peered over the police tape that had been put up around the crashed ‘satallite’ in the park.

“I reckon it’s an alien ship, you know,” John declared, pointing to the wreckage. “You wanna investigate? Nobody’s about and we could easily get over this tape!”

           there are few instances joel can recall feeling genuine discomfort in the presence of near to anyone. he was miles more accustomed to being the one who was imposing ; he was far more accustomed to being the one to strike fear into others… an unease he intended not to make too evident was present in him. a soft flex of his jaw leads to a quiet crack of calloused knuckles, hazel eyes stern and wary all at once as he obliges her demand with rigidity. in truth he, for all the tension that makes him sit so stiffly, is relatively nonplussed… the woman before him is a new face --- gaze searching her? he can almost taste the rage and that confessedly draws his brows to furrow.

❛ ... now i don’t know what i did t’upset ya, miss, and i’ll humor yer uh… request. but frankly, i’d like t’know why it seems as though i’m ‘bout t’be scolded. ❜   tonality is firm as he licks at his chapped bottom lip, raising his hand with a gesture at her poorly veiled fury.

A chuckle was cut short as he just barely dodged Romana’s next lunge. “What can I say?” he said, attempting an attack of his own but being blocked swiftly. “I know I need the practice so I’m determined to keep going as long as you’ll let me. But even with my rusty skills I’ve counted, ooh, at least three times you could’ve disarmed me and didn’t. You’re just lucky I haven’t found a chandelier to swing from yet.”
