maybe this isnt true in the city but at least here it seems like skateboarding/longboarding is NOT a big thing
#we have a skate park really close by but ive only ever seen like. one guy on a skateboard there#its all scooters... and then the bmx bikes on the track next to it#no but greater sydney area generally theres like. idk one chain that only really does skateboard (no longboard)#maybe cruiser idk. and then like 3 independent shops#and this is a big area this isnt like cbd. even worse for rollerskates so ive heard lmao#huh. just had a look at our local chain and it turns out they Do sell a couple of longboards#but theyre advertised as cruisers..../???#like. theyre definitely not lmao but#they still dont do longboard wheels tho which is the pertinent part for me rip#ONE set on the site. and u cant get them in shop anywhere its online only#at which point there are other shops lmao..#oh i wasnt counting city beach but maybe i should have LMAO theyre at least carrying globe#well. on second thought their better brands dont seem to be available anywhere in store. so

asjushusasadhshj we get to start rehearsing on the big stage on monday im so excited!!!!!!!!!
#BIG bands have played on that stage#and big musicals#like#kinky boots is getting done with their run there tomorrow#gentlemen's guide was there grease was there wizard of oz was there#and thats just the last year#we're going to get ot go on the stage where like professional touring companies go#and big name bands and just aAHGRHE IM SO EXCITED#my only concern is that me or our kira is just going to accidentely roll off of the front of the stage sometime#perks of having rollerskates/blades/on one occasion a giant inflatable pegasus on wheels during this show#its seriously only a matter of time before one of us falls hard on those fuckin things#gotta see if i can preset my wrist guards. how great would it be if i slipped on my skates and broke my wrists at dress or something#my plan is to just watch “kira” all show (especially when IM not on skates and she is) and try to catch her if she falls wheeze#ive got lines fired up and everything#like if she almost fell and i caught her i could either say#“looks like you fell for me” in the cheesiest voice possiblee#or#“if you wanted me to hold you you could have just asked” in the also cheesiest voice possiblee#hey she gave me full permission to do that if i manage to catch her if she falls wheezee#xanadu posting

He's rollerskating like a figure skater!
Or perhaps more accurately, like it was choreographed by a figure skater? I mean, it makes sense, but I've rarely if ever seen that in practice.
Not that I've seen anything like all there is to offer on these topics, it's just interesting to me. I used to love both ice and rollerskating (not so much inline skating), and while they felt related, I didn't use them the same way very much.
Rollerskating has its own strengths and weaknesses different from ice skating.
I still hope to get back to them after rebuilding some strength and stamina!

I bought roller skates my size at the flea market, now I just need to learn how to use them
#i. think? they have indoor wheels#my house is ah. very slanted. but the biggest problem is its not smooth#since its wood planks something. theres lines loke every 2 inches#hard for me to get in the groove of things <-said as if it doesn't take me 2 hours to somewhat get used to skates are the rollerskating#lasr i was at the skating rink i came to the conclusion that i lean on my left foot alot. like. for all the movements#rather than alternating my weight(?) between my left and my right#i will probably continue to do this

I should be able to walk for 1 minute max and get to a big free sports hall where I can rollerskate at any time of day. Preferably I would not have to go outside to reach it but I can compromise on that. I think this would improve my quality of life immeasurably.
#I am currently besigned by the desire to move fast and energetically but I can't stand exercise that isn't rollerskating#is flinging myself across a massive room on wheels on demand too much to ask for#why must I be confined to aimless pacing instead this is doing nothing for me
