By the way I hope you guys don't mind if I don't answer all asks with a sketch, I'm extremely busy with school and other things in my life as well as having art block, so I can't really draw as often as I want to. I do want to answer your questions! I just don't really have the energy or time to be drawing out responses to everything

My brainrot today is thinking about just how incredible for a character Eowyn is.

Genuinely. The series might not have many female characters but the ones we do get go so fucking hard.

To me, Eowyn is literally the definition of defining being a woman for oneself. She rejects the roles she is given despite acknlowdging the importance and its mostly because she knows part of the reason is that she is a woman.

The reason why she is obsessed with Aragorn isn't because she loves him but because she wants what he has. She wants the freedom and courage and bravery that Aragorn has at every turn. She literally has multiple conversations during the Two Towers about how what she fears most is a cage. All this girl wants is the freedom to be and not be forced into a role. The best thing is that she literally gets that.

The segment of Return of the King about Eowyn and Faramir is literally about her piecing together what she truly wants. She doesn't want Aragorn. She wants freedom and the ability to choose. Faramir does nothing but encourage that in her. Their love story is literally one of the healthiest love stories I've seen in a long time because at the heart of it, their love is a place to return home to for both parties. Both go off to lead and help their people for a considerable amount of time before returning to each other but that does not diminish their bond. Even Faramir, I believe, falls in love with her bravery and dedication to her loved ones. The reason she went to Pelenor Fields and Gondor with the troops of Rohan was because she had things she wanted to fight for. She wanted to fight for herself, her people, and her loved ones. She is the one who protects Theoden after he is killed so that his body gets the treatment it deserves. She encourages Merry and helps him go to the battle because she sees her struggle in Merry. They feel helpless standing around when there are things to be doing.

Let's also not forget the fact that she was around Grima Wormtounge just as much as the King was. She was exposed to the same poison and awful words that eroded the king. It's even implied that her care for him is part of the reason why Theoden was savable when Gandalf showed up. She had the same power and bravery as everyone else even if she didn't see it in herself.

Then at the end of the day, SHE decides where she wants to go and what path she wants to walk. She walked the path of a warrior. The path of a princess/ruler. The path of a caretaker. But in the end she decides which elements truly mean something to her outside of gender definitions. That is what makes her character so incredible to me. In this she literally kills one of the biggest enemies in that battle with such a badass line.

Women with fertility issues do not belong in the church. God made them for one purpose and that is to get pregnant. Without that purpose, they are functionally useless and have no value

I don't usually answer obvious anon hate. Usually, I send it to the group chat and we all laugh over the cowardice it takes to send such bait and not have the guts to connect your name to it, but I feel like this time, if you want to shame me in private, you can get answered in public.

I have fertility issues. I've made no secret of that on this blog, and something tells me you know that. I could go on, wax lyrical about all the love the Church has for women who struggle in this area. I could point you to the countless women in the Bible itself who struggled to conceive, only to be granted a miracle in later life by God Himself.

I could point out to you how God calls people to celibacy, and if it weren't for the celibate you'd have almost none of those charities run by female religious, and that society would have certainly collapsed years ago were it not for childless cloistered women praying for it ceaslessly, but let's be honest here. You could have found those responses on Catholic Answers or any of the multitude of robust, beautiful sources the Church provides us in her wisdom and charity, or, well, done pretty much anything other than come into the inbox of a woman who is probably unable to bear children to spew your rhetoric, so instead of all that, I'm going to leave you with this: someday, someone you love, maybe even you or your own spouse, is going to struggle to conceive, and is going to tell you about it, and you are going to feel sick to your stomach because you remember what you said to me.

It's a good thing for you that the Church which welcomes me and those like me joyfully teaches us to not hold grudges, because we will surround that person with the love and support of the Church which you claim women like me don't deserve.

May God bless you, my friend. May He show you truth and heal whatever has caused you to lash out at someone who you don't even do the courtesy of addressing in person. My followers and I will be praying for you.

it was really kind of wild how so many people in the jojo fanbase depicted (and some probably still do depict) rohan as this sassy, flirty, outgoing "slutty" dude in fanon when he acts nothing like that in canon. part 4 shows pretty clearly he avoids everyone when he can get away with it and is just kind of cold and mean (or a total weirdo when he's being intense about something) when he talks to people if anything. i think people just took one look at his design, designated him "twink" and started assigning him traits of a gay stereotype

Few things make me or annoyed than the argument that Héra is not-like-other-girls or has no personality.

My girl’s first scene in the whole movie is her going on a camping trip with the end goal of throwing a leg of mutton at an eagle. Which, according to her, her older brother told her would get her ripped limb from limb. Her first response to a rabid oliphant is ‘huh. I know what could eat that!’ and then stays to watch it happen. Freca is right, this girl is feral and I love her for it.

As for the not like other girls… where? That tired moment of ‘why do i have to wear a dress, i wish i could just wear pants’ never happens. Fréaláf comments not on her clothes as being unusual but the fact that she’s managed to keep them free of mud. She’s been trained to fight, sure, but that doesn’t seem unusual for women of the royal family. Besides, you will never convince me that she wasn’t the kind of little sibling that insisted on doing everything Háma did for the first ten years of her life. She doesn’t want to get married. That’s it. Full stop.

Eowyn recognizes the same thing in Merry that's in her. They both want to fight for their people but can't. Eowyn has been given charge of Rohan, but it's not what she wants. Merry's felt like a burden on this journey and views fighting as his chance to be useful. Eowyn understands how he's feeling so she helps give him the chance to fight that she has also been denied.
