What kinds of shenanigans do you think goes on with the Big Bazz Bad Brigade, and is it more chaotic when Link is around? Does Sidon join the chaos when Muzu isn’t looking?

I feel like it would involve a lot of Just Himbo Things™ that I'm not entirely privy to (no one is, except those in the Brigade). Definitely more chaotic with Link around, because he is the Chief Himbo. Sidon has always been a dedicated supporter of the Brigade and its activities, and all we can really do is pray to the goddess for the safety of all involved when he and Link attend the same meetings.

How about 1, 2, and 3 for the Big Bad Bazz Brigade members?

i got distracted watching Castlevania whoops😅😅

anyway, here are my hot takes on these 3 beauties

1. Canon I outright reject

Bazz - he can't be the the only one patrolling the domain. that man NEEDS SLEEP!! also, he's got paperwork to do.

Rivan - that he's Dunma's biological dad. it's not that i outright reject it, i just like to believe he found her as an egg when he was a teen. he's too good of a person, and too big of a nerd to have a biological child at the age he was when Dunma was born.

Gaddison - i don't know a lot about Gaddison canon, sooooo... 😅

2. A canon or headcanon hill I will die on

Bazz - he hates showing emotion around others unless it's someone he's VERY close to. he hates PDA. he wants his life to be as private as possible. hates gossip. if he's in a vulnerable state, he'll stay of of sight.

Rivan - just as sweet as Sidon. i love that he cares so much for his daughter, and that he's so nervous to be away from her in TotK. he deserves more attention. i firmly believe he was the most reckless out of the 3, though he is just a big nerd who loves his friends.

Gaddison - HATES the Prince Sidon Fan Club. thinks they're the worst people. played with bugs as a kid. she's claimed herself to be a bloodstained soldier, and i believe that. also, very gay.

3. Obscure headcanon

Bazz - Seggin scolded the hell out of him for literally anything: being to loud, not speaking up enough, not being the top of his class, showing off too much, etc etc. that's why he's only affectionate around those he's EXTREMELY close to

Rivan - was definitely scolded for bringing home a Zora egg. i mean... my parents probably would have done the same honestly.

Gaddison - had a lot of gender identity issues as a child because of her sexuality. definitely had a crush on Mipha when she was little.

adding onto the Zora breathing convo, I personally think they have nostrils! In some of the older renditions of Zora, like Queen Rutella, we can see they have a more human/Hylian nose structure. And when we look at the BOTW Zora, their nose has a lighter stripe of color on the bottom as though it’s a more “fleshy” piece. While not animated, it could be insinuating a nostril. And the official art books call it a nose! So perhaps they use their lungs to filter oxygen in the water and their nose to breathe normally on land?

Idk man just imagining little Zora snouts are so cute. Boop the snoot.

Elderly Zora antics headcanons? I wonder if they have cliques, or are one bug clique. Obviously we know Seggin and Trello are bffs since their time in the guard, but little headcanons like that!

For example, I feel like Kapson and Dento might have a decent friendship and they plan wedding jewelry to be crafted for couples.

So something that might pique your interest is exploring around the area of the Zora’s domain and reading the blue stone tablets Sidon has written. They basically  talk about how much Sidon *really* admires Link (there is not heterosexual explanation for it) but also how Lady Yona is someone who is from another domain and is a childhood friend of Sidon’s. That he thinks of her more like a sister than a romantic partner. Which alludes to this being an arranged marriage bc he’s royalty!

This actually makes me feel better and takes some of the sting out. Thank you for sharing this with me - I shall definitely be poking around there more once I finish this boss!

Adding on about the stone tablets, it’s also stated by Sidon that the Royal line is not based on blood alone! So heirs aren’t truly necessary. He mentions he is worried he is not seen as worthy for the throne by some of the elders or something! So just another tidbit! It seems to me Sidon and Yona are just childhood friends arranged to marry, and are playing the part because their feelings are “difficult to quantify” as put by Sidon. Either way I want to marry both of them lol

Thanks for sharing this! Aww, Sidon seems like he would be worried about being worthy (even though his worries are unfounded, I can see him being like that or taking it hard if someone he looks up to expresses any doubt). Yona seems like she would be a capable Zora queen, so I can see why he would welcome the marriage to her as opposed to following his heart even if there is someone else he has his eye on. I am sure the public approval is a big piece of it for him.

All interesting things to consider that add more layers to this!

Parkour! (Big Bad Bazz Brigade)

This is based off of the parkour scene from The Office!

The sky above was a pale pink hue fading to midnight blue as dawn broke over the luminous structure of Zora’s Domain. Gentle coo’s of mourning doves mixed with the sound of water moving across the domain and down the local waterfalls added to the peaceful ambiance. The sound of clinking metal echoed across the stone structure as a particular captain made his way to work.

Bazz yawned, still worn out from the long night he pulled prior. The training reports for the newest addition of guards had taken longer than he had anticipated much to the dismay of Muzu. One of the new recruits managed to get lost on his first round of surveying the local river system. Poor kid, it was easy to get turned around when you didn’t study the maps enough. As Captain of The Guard, Bazz declared himself responsible for the trainee and sought to it himself to locate him. It took a bit longer than expected, but the trainee was found safe and sound and promptly brought back to the domain.

The lock on the door to the Captain’s office cla-clinked as Bazz turned the key.

“Office, sweet office.”

Plopping himself and his stack of folders down at his desk, Bazz picked up right where he left off yesterday.

Bazz groaned. He had been at it for hours now, the early hours of dawn lifting into early afternoon. He had skipped his lunch, only leaving his office to ensure his guards were keeping to their schedules as given. All seemed to be in order. Not a single guard out of pl-

The door to Bazz’s office slams open.

Bazz looks up in time to see a rust colored zora dash at him at top speed, flipping himself up onto Bazz’s desk. The Zora rolled himself over the desk, knocking paperwork, folders, and ink bottles across the floor, before landing against Bazz’s chest and pushing the Captain backwards in his chair onto the ground.

Bazz recovers quickly, glaring down the Zora.

“What. The. FUCK. Rivan!?”

Rivan’s cat-like yellow eyes looked deep into Bazz’s, face just inches away and devoid of any particular emotion- a stark contrast to pissed expression on the Captain’s. He mutters something, but Bazz did not catch it.

“What did you say?”

“PARKOUR!!”

Taken aback, Bazz watches his childhood friend jump up off the floor and sprint out of his office, flipping over the debris and somersaulting out the door. Bazz’s eye twitches as he observed the mess of his usually neat and tidy office. He growls, getting up and fixing his helm. He grabs his silverscale spear and chases after his friend.

Rivan dashed through the marble hallways, occasionally flipping over decorative tables and vases, and bouncing off the walls going around corners. He was awfully energetic and carefree despite the sight of the captain chasing after him.

“C’mon, Bazz!! You gotta do the moves too!” Rivan shouted over his shoulder.

Bazz scrunched his face in confusion.

“The moves??”

Rivan did another flip over one of the intricately etched designs on the luminous floor.

“The moves!”

Bazz followed, pulling a flip over the same design before continuing his chase. They dashed around several more corners and leapt down a flight of stairs, not touching a single step. At one point Bazz swore he saw a flash of red and heard it squeak in surprise as he passed a hall. Was that Laflat? Tula? Hell, it could have been Kapson. He shrugged to himself and he kept his eyes on his friend. He increased his speed and swiftly grabbed the end of Rivan’s head tail, yanking him back.

“eeEOWWwwww okay!!! Damn!” The rusty brown Zora gave in, stopping in his tracks. “You don’t have to give me whiplash, Cap.”

Bazz shook his head, crossing his arms and giving Rivan a look clearly prompting him to explain himself. Rivan rolled his eyes and grinned before opening his mouth, but before he could get a word out a flash of grayish-lilac zipped over the boys.

Que the slow motion action scene.

Bazz and Rivan’s jaws dropped as they look up the lock eyes with Gaddison, currently flipping over their heads. Her grin could only be described as snarky.

“ppPPAAArrrRKKooURRr!!!”

Gaddison landed perfectly on the other side of her friends, looking up with nothing but challenge in her eyes.

Muzu stretched lightly, groaning something about his arthritis. That meeting was far too long, and they really needed to reupholster the meeting room chairs. He walked alongside King Dorephan and Prince Sidon, both stretching a bit themselves.

“Well, I think that meeting went well. It’s not everyday Seggin and Trello get through a meeting without bickering,” Sidon cracked his shoulders. The two were old friends, but bickered like a married couple.

“Mmh..yes. Though you must admit, it can be entertaining to watch them go at it like cuckoos.” Dorephan stifled a chuckle when he caught Muzu’s annoyed look.

“My king, don’t encourage your son to gossip!” Muzu shook his head. Sidon hid his eye roll and shared a glance with his father, both royals were used to Muzu’s antics.

“My apologies, Muzu,” Dorephan started, “Let’s move on. Have you had the chance to speak with Dento about the blueprints for the new- I’m sorry what??”

King Dorephan’s attention was suddenly elsewhere, jaw slack in shock. Muzu and Sidon quickly followed his eyes, only to see the most unusual sight.

Gaddison, Bazz, and Rivan were chasing each other, flipping over objects and jumping off ledges. At one point, Bazz backflipped over Tumbo. The young Zora clapped and cheered, clearly excited to be a part of the fun. All the while, the trio shouted “parkour” as they did stunts across the domain.

Muzu scoffed, “Hylia! Those three have no tact! Surely you’d think the Captain himself would never lower to such standards!”

Dorephan had to stifle another laugh, as he watched the three jump around life fleas. Those three had always been rambunctious. What did they used to call themselves as guppies? Ah, yes. The Big Bad Bazz Brigade.

“Don’t you even think about joining them, your hig- hEY!!!” Muzu shrieked, glaring at where the prince once stood.

Dorephan lowered his eyes, looking at the blank spot next to him where Sidon was standing just a minute ago. He heard a cacophony in the direction of the Big Bad Bazz Brigade, indicative of a new friend joining the chaos.

“Ah, Jabu…”

I Hope you liked this! This is the first short fic I’ve written! I had fun with this!

I wasn’t sure how to describe Gaddison’s color, as she appears gray in post of the pictures of her but I know the colors in the domain are a bit muddled from the rain! I only knew Rivan was actually a rusty brown when I saw him in the sunlight!

Bazz wakes up from his daydream about stamella shroom stew and squints into the distance. "Who goes there? I demand that you reveal yourself!"

When’s the last time Sidon and/or Bazz got into trouble? They both seem like good boys but everyone’s got a record! What were their punishments? If the boys aren’t willing to fess up, maybe Dorephan and Seggin would like to lol

This is a tough one because they are pretty good boys! Bazz has a clean record since becoming the captain of the guard. As a lower ranking officer, he got a few dings for things like waking up late or not cleaning his dorm thoroughly. His punishments would be extra drills or physical labor. He couldn't afford to be too naughty, with his lofty ambitions!

As a teenager, Sidon made a habit of sneaking away from his guards for romantic rendezvous and - the worst time - a tavern where he drank himself silly and discovered that sugar and alcohol don't make the nicest companions the day afterward. He was spied there by a gossip columnist, who snapped a photo of the inebriated prince and sent it to Dorephan demanding a ghastly sum of rupees in return for keeping the photo a secret. Dorephan kept the threat and knowledge to himself for a couple of days, calmly biding his time in the presence of his son but also making sure to put Sidon to work in the early morning when he had a hangover as punishment. Dorephan was tempted to allow the photo to be published to teach Sidon a lesson, but knew ultimately that would put the royal family in a precarious position. Sidon would never escape the reputation of drunk prince. Even with the public's admiration of him, the Zora king knew how quickly that opinion could turn sour.

Instead, Dorephan handed over the money to the columnist after securing proof that all photographic evidence was destroyed. A couple of days later, when Sidon complained about a headache, Dorephan asked quietly and without missing a beat, "I do hope you have not been drinking again?" To which Sidon's jaw dropped and his face turned beet red. To this day, he's not really big on drinking.

Dorephan cut Sidon off mid-stammer into his excuses to inform him of the photographic evidence and that he would need to work to pay the funds back into the royal exchequer, that he was not to breathe a word of it to anyone. If asked, he was supposed to tell them he was just after some real world experience - which made the public grow even fonder of their prince, as it made him seem very humble. It all worked out in the end, and Sidon turned out to be a natural at customer service in the Zora market.

What nicknames would Sidon and Bazz prefer to give their s/o’s, and what would they, in turn, prefer to be called? (Also thank you for the nightmare one, while the nightmares haven’t stopped I do plan to be seeing a therapist soon! Thank you for the love🧡🧡🧡)

I can see Sidon being more into nicknames than Bazz, although in the heat of the moment, Bazz might be known to address his s/o with the adoration he so clearly feels but sometimes fails to express. While Sidon would be free-flowing with the "my love," "sweetheart," and "dearest," Bazz would be more likely to call you by your given/preferred name most of the time. Both of them shy from cutesy names like "pookie" or "lovemuffin," anything like that, unless they're joking around.

I think Sidon would like to be called whatever nickname most pleases you to say. He's not big on titles he would hear in a formal setting so doesn't much care for any form of "prince" as his petname, but if you really enjoyed it, he wouldn't complain. Bazz, on the other hand, doesn't mind using titles in an intimate setting and he might even roleplay with you. (He told me to strike that out while blushing furiously, that I don't need to type everything he says . . . jeez, alright then). As long as you don't call him "lovemuffin," he's alright with however you choose to address him. However, he did not strictly say that "pookie" is off limits.

Oh dear, shall I warn him? Only kidding - I'm sure he would be terribly pleased! Muzu with a rock collection is probably the closest to childhood delight that we'll ever see him get.

My prince, how do you feel about Muzu? Is he the grumpiest elder or are they all like him? Does he have any soft spots?

Good evening rocklover - I hope you're well! Muzu has always been a loyal supporter and friend of my family. He can be . . . how can I put this, a bit firmer in his stance than the rest of the elders. He is not easily swayed from his opinions at all. I find that reassuring, actually. In many ways, he is the same Muzu I knew in my childhood! And he is always looking out for the good of the Zora people. He's never been the smiliest sort of person, but deep down, he has a wonderful heart and a great deal of patience for me as he did for my sister, Mipha. Praise is not free-flowing from him, by any means, but that only makes it more meaningful on the rare occasion that you get it!

And, uh, you didn't hear it from me, but you might have something in common with him. He really loves gems - all sorts, but I think his favorite is luminous stone. I swear I caught him talking to one, once. He loves to get out his big eyeglass and examine them for hours.

Idk why it just registered to me that you say Bazz is and ENTJ, and as an INFP I AGREE lol. That being said, what MBTIs do you think other characters are?

Here are a couple - let me know if there are any other specific characters you want to know about, but these are at the top of my brain right now.

Link strikes me as ISTP. I mean, I personally haven't interacted with this type so much, but just based on the description. I could see him as being difficult to get to know and seeming like there is not really a method to how he approaches things, but there is a lot more going on in his head than people realize since he's so quiet.

I would have to say Mipha is ISFJ. Maybe she is actually more of an ambivert, so she can seem like ESFJ. I could see her enjoying being on her own, having her quiet time and reading, meditating, or training on her own. But when someone needs her, she's there. She gets a lot of joy out of caring for others, but she needs her quiet time to recharge that battery.

Sidon, I see him as an ENFJ. He is outgoing and there is a big part of him that loves making people happy and finding the solution in situations that seem impossible. I can also see him as coming off overbearing in his desire to help people; maybe sometimes he takes on a problem that is above his pay grade or he gets a little too involved (even if his intentions are good and he only wants to see the best come from his efforts). I also 100% see him as having trouble admitting when he needs someone to be there for him.
