12 years ago today, @robynkonichiwa released the final installment of her masterpiece ‘Body Talk’ along with the full LP. ‘Body Talk’ is hands down one of my favorite albums of all time and I feel so incredibly grateful that I was able to experience it live at @thewarfield a day after its release back in 2010. Maluca and Natalia Kills opened for Robyn that night and they each signed a piece of merch when I met them at the show. 17 years ago today @robynkonichiwa’s incredible album ‘Robyn’ was first released to the world and she was reborn as a synth & dance-pop goddess. Day 2️⃣6️⃣ of #MayVinylChallenge 🌸: Best sounding reissue . The @recordstoreday reissue of @robynkonichiwa’s self-titled album ‘Robyn’ not only looks incredible but also sounds amazing too! I absolutely love that this pressing uses the original Swedish artwork for the cover and includes additional tracks on gorgeous red vinyl compared to the original 2007 LP. It’s an awesome upgrade but beautiful pairing to see both albums together (swipe over to check it out!) Day 2️⃣4️⃣ of #AprilVinylShowers: Flex It Up - Your Test Presses/Rare Pressings/Variant Collections . I decided to go for rare with this prompt and chose @robynkonichiwa’s incredible album ‘Robyn,’ which represented her rebirth into synth & dance pop. To this day it’s still one of my favorite albums — it’s so catchy and fun I can’t believe it’s from 2007! This pressing took a long time to find I think it was only pressed in Germany and is the hardest album of hers to actually find for sale (never mind the prices!) Day 2️⃣7️⃣ of #AprilVinylShowers: White Whale - Took You Longest To Find . When I first started collecting records and learned about @Discogs, @robynkonichiwa’s ‘Body Talk’ was pretty much the first record I put on my wishlist and was always the one I wanted the most. For years I hunted online and in shops trying to find a copy, and with rumors of a re-press I prayed for that as well. Finally last year I vowed that if the re-press didn’t come I would finally splurge and buy it for myself for my birthday. The re-press never came so I found a really beautiful copy from a nice seller and bought it! When the mail arrived I held my breath as I opened the package and was so happy to see it was in perfect condition. It’s by far one of my most treasured records and always will be since it was my eternal White Whale and took me the longest to find!
