It's been over a year since I made this short. It was my first attempt at making a stop-motion puppet and was also my first time editing a video.

I learned a lot, and hope to make more stop motion shorts and puppets in the future.

I love Laika and modern Aardman stuff but I really miss the way stop motion used to always be somewhat imperfect, crusty, and uncanny/unpleasantly organic looking in frame rate. Early MTV Liquid Television/bumpers, Peewee 's Playhouse, Gumby and Nickelodeon's KaBlam, Bump In The Night, The TrapDoor, Cosgrove Hall's Wind in the Willows ...they all are very different genres and demographics and character styles, yet they all share a brilliant similar vibe, and, have this effect in their atmosphere that is felt here in this short but I find lacking in more smoothness obsessed modern works.

I'm so glad we're in an era where so much good animation is coming out and people seem to actually care about animation as an artform. Last year we had "The boy and the heron", "Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse" and "Robot Dreams" (which I just saw in cinemas now, and is one of the best films I saw all year, it's incredible), and last year also saw the release of Genndy Tartakovsky's new animated series "Unicorn Warriors Eternal" which I just got around to begin watching now, and I can't believe they actually released a 2D-animated tv show that looks this amazing and is this well-animated in 2023. I've also been watching "Delicious in Dungeon" as it's been coming out this year, and it has absolutely stellar animation and art direction.

And 2022 was an amazing year for stop-motion animation, with three (THREE!) incredibly good stop motion films releasing in the same year (all on Netflix, god bless them for supporting stop motion animation!), "The House", "Wendell & Wild", and Guillermo Del Toro's "Pinocchio".
