Robot Roller-Derby Disco Dodgeball

This here is a perfect example of how Binning a game doesn’t necessarily mean it’s bad.

RRDDD has the coolest title ever and is a lot of fun to play. The controls are responsive, it’s the most vibrant thing in the known universe, the gameplay is distilled down to perfectly simple rules and there’s lots of room for builing upon it. I really, really like this game a lot and I think it’d be a blast to play with friends.

That’s the kicker- the single player content is entirely based on bot matches and score-attack tyle gameplay. Bot matches are fun but score attack has never been my kind of thing- endless arcade games and the like never hold my attention for very long, regardless of how fun the game is. I need something to work towards in a single-player game, beyond “beat my own high score”, and RRDDD doesn’t have that.

Fin or Bin:

I’ll definitely keep it around and installed to play a few bot matches every now and then, but in the context of this backlog challenge I consider it done with, and will move onto another game. Hopefully I’ll get to take it out of the Bin once in a while if some friends pick it up during a sale.

Jedi dogeball: good practice for telekinesis under fire. Started as a creche game, then got a little out of hand. The senior padawan league is *brutal*, but it has nothing on the combined knight and master league, which has to be held in the reinforced salle, after that one time they blew the roof off.

it's worth mentioning that not only can jedi throw dodgeballs with the force but they can deflect them, too. kind of makes you wonder what's considered "catching" a dodgeball when you're telekinetic.

now I'm thinking about robot roller-derby disco dodgeball. free-for-all dodgeball course with parkour. get extra points for style. you can get injured in so many new and exciting ways!

I think the clone troopers would be into it, too.

Games hm? Well, if you’re into strobe lights, party music and some fast paced whole family friendly PVP action. Look out for “Robot Roller-Derby Disco Dodgeball” it is Exactly what it sounds like and it’s some silly fun for a pretty cheap price on Steam. The specs are pretty low too, so you can play it on just about any PC or Laptop

And you’re not bothering me at all! two questions can hardly be considered spam. :P If you think of more, feel free.

I got tagged for this again but since the questions are new every time I figured I would participate again. Collapsing it though because nobody wants to do that much scrolling, especially on mobile.

1. City Lights or Star Light? City lights are fascinating, star light is breathtaking and you can’t make me choose they’re both amazing. 

2. NYC or LA? Going to have to say LA on that one, especially since I’m from California

3. Paris or London? Probably Paris but I’d like to visit both

4. Skyscrapers or Blue Mountains? Skyscrapers are nice from afar but the mountains are much more stunning to be in. 

5. Favorite planet? Neptune I think. 

6. Favorite color? Grey tinted/muted shades of most colors like this, this, or this.

7. Hot chocolate or coffee? Hot chocolate! I don’t really drink coffee unless someone has invited me to go with them. 

8. Would you rather fly and be invisible or master the art of telepathy? Fly, telepathy is only useful if others can talk back. Plus I get the bonus invisibility skill. 

9. Hugs or no hugs? Only if I know the person really well and its already established as okay. I can be kinda sensitive about that. 

10. Favorite Cartoon? I wasn’t allowed to watch cartoons growing up.

11. Future Job? Not sure, but computer science has a lot of options.

1. do you play any games? if so, which ones? Yeah, occasionally! My all time favorite is Audiosurf 2 (but streaming is currently broken and that’s kinda killing it). I’ve also messed around with BattleBlock Theater, Portal/Portal 2, and Robot Roller Derby Disco Dodgeball among others. 

2. what’s your favorite color? Grey tinted/muted shades of most colors like this, this, or this.

3. which career path are you aiming for/currently on? Computer science

4. what is your favorite song of all time? One favorite? That's an impossible request. But... I can recommend a few including  Bonafied Lovin,  Empire Ants, Stylo, Knee Socks, Petals, Famous Prophets (Stars), Human Leather Shoes for Crocodile Dandies, and Carried Away for starters. 

5. what do you normally watch on youtube? if music, from who? if a particular channel, what is it about and who makes those videos? I rarely use YouTube. The only thing I regularly watch on there is John Oliver’s Last Week Tonight , which is both funny and very informative on a variety of issues. 

6. what is your favorite food? This breakfast food my family makes that we call cranberry pinwheels. Its hard to describe but really good. 

7. what’s your favorite movie? tv show? Jessica Jones is probably the best thing I’ve ever watched on Netflix. 

8. what is your biggest peeve? Micromanagers. End of story. 

9. what language are you currently learning/want to learn? I took Spanish in high school and I’m hoping to keep working on it and be conversational instead of just “I’ll be able to make my way around if I visit Mexico”. (If anyone wants to chat in Spanish I’m 100% down I need practice and help lol)

10. what’s a country you want to travel to? in the future, would you want to live there? I want to visit Croatia, Norway & Finland & Sweden, Egypt, Australia, Canada, and so many others! Those are just off the top of my head. Haven’t really thought about living in any of them.

11. what’s your favorite line from a song? movie? book? aaah that is actually impossible to pick! I can’t sorry! I read too much to have a favorite.

2 - Of course I’m going sneak KOTOR music, Bastila’s theme and Manaan music will always tug at me

3- Throwing in something fun. I periodically play this game called Robot Roller-Derby Disco Dodgeball (yes that it what its called) and the music is so great. So great.  Aviatrix one is a fav, particularly because it samples heavily from Yazoo’s “Don’t Go.”
