“Do you have a cigarette?” Jason meekly asked, slowly setting down his book.

Dick raised an eyebrow. “A cig?”

“Oh, well, y’know, Alfred doesn’t like them and Bruce wouldn’t do anything to willingly hurt his body, and I mean, I probably shouldn’t but I-”

Dick smiled knowingly. “They’re in the back. And no smoking them in my car. They stink the place up.”

“Oh.” Jason grinned. “You… you smoke?”

“Sometimes. Never got into the habit of it.” Dick sighed, sliding on his sunglasses. The sun was bright in Texas. “You?”

“Oh, uh.” Jason twiddled his hands. “Just something I picked up on the streets.”

Dick nodded. “Makes sense. You should quit. If Alfred ever catches you, you’d be facing a stern talking to.”

“Yeah, I know.” Jason nodded. “But it’s hard.”

“Oh, believe me. I'm well aware.” Roy’s face popped into Dick’s face. “I have a friend who’s struggling with heroin. He’s… well, he’s getting better, but it’s an uphill struggle.”

Jason relaxed. “Are we going to meet him? Or…”

“He’s not part of Teen Titans. Not anymore. But star city isn't far from LA, so we can make a stop later. You'll love him..."

Robin couldn’t help but tune out as Aster continued blathering about his sexuality and the fact that he didn’t exactly completely fully like boys-.. even though he most certainly did. Trying not to be judgemental, Robin surmised that not everyone was comfortable with themselves at this age, or blessed with an understanding family-.. but whatever Aster’s stance on the matter, Levi’s master plan had just grown wings and yeeted itself out the window.
