bro i was just gonna write a conspiracy ass post about the album cover that was sent in the used’s email announcing bert’s album because his tattoos have been so butchered/erased/glitched out in photoshop. why did the graphic designer/editor erase some of them, airbrush his arms, and fuck up the praying girl tattoo? (her head is glitched out). the tattoos on his left arm were erased, they changed the shape of his right arm 😂 is that not soo weird??? like i understand making small touch-ups but this is really noticeable i think, at least to people who know what his tattoos look like. why did they bodyshame his elbow???? this is so funny

my honest thoughts about bert’s solo album trigger warning don’t read

first of all lemme just say it’s not like people can’t change their opinions over time because they obviously can but i specifically remember interviews from 10ish years ago where bert was bashing this exact type of poorly constructed, poorly written pop album with meaningless lyrics and nothing emotionally interesting to say.

i know he’s always said that since he was a kid he was a fan of pop icons like michael jackson and mariah carey but there was a period of time where he was super critical of braindead “radio pop” and he was specifically judgemental about the lazy lyrics. (i wish i could remember the exact interviews because it’s such a harsh contrast to the things he’s said while promoting this solo album). and i do believe he’s changed his mind (like him saying “i love simple pop songs that get stuck in your head”) which is fine but this is just such a baffling turn of events to me

i was holding out on judging it until it actually came out but now that i’ve listened to it all i can say is that it felt embarrassing. i was starting to list individual songs that were bad but i realized it’s the majority of the album.

terrible, gladiator, the middle, and wake up call especially are hard to believe that he would release.

all of the love songs i feel are so trite and filled with re-used sentiments/metaphors/phrases he’s written (almost to an exact degree) in older used songs, just with worse instrumentals and an irritating repetitiveness.

this, combined with the lazy/subpar editing of the album cover (which is honestly such a shame because ryan’s photography is so beautiful and i feel like using a raw image of his out of the dozens of photos he took of bert during that shoot would have been infinitely better) AND the fact that he did not even come up with an album title 💀 hm

whatever fucking freak crisis quinn has going on right now with his cringe use of gen alpha slang in his instagram descriptions was less embarrassing than listening to this album because at least quinn has a modicum of self-aware irony
