The path from successful character actor to becoming a star is difficult. It’s even harder when you’re self-destructive. Tom Sizemore, who has died aged 61 after a brain aneurysm, will be best remembered for his roles in Saving Private Ryan, as Tom Hanks’s wise sergeant, and in Heat, as the muscle in Robert De Niro’s bank-robbing crew.
His characters were often informed by their volatility: affable nihilism could explode into violence, which made him a natural player of bent cops and detectives, as believable in straight roles as in over-the-top variations, such as Oliver Stone’s Natural Born Killers. But his own personality bore many of those same traits. His career was sidelined repeatedly by addictions to heroin and methamphetamines, and his peripatetic drug-fuelled sex life led to repeated cases of domestic violence.
In 1998, after starring as the criminal gangster boss John Gotti in the television film Witness to the Mob, Sizemore received a visit from De Niro and his mother, who forced him into rehab. Steven Spielberg then hired him for Private Ryan, provided Sizemore be drug-tested regularly, and threatening to reshoot all his scenes if he failed a single test.
Five years later, on the verge of television success as the lead in Robbery Homicide Division, he was kicked off the set of a movie, Piggy Banks, accused of molesting an 11-year-old female actor, and convicted of domestic violence against his then girlfriend, “Hollywood madam” Heidi Fleiss. The double scandal contributed to the TV show’s cancellation.
The two sides of Sizemore’s talent could be traced back to childhood. Born in Detroit, he was the son of Thomas Sr, a lawyer and philosophy professor, and Judith (nee Schannault), who worked in the city ombudsman’s office. A self-described “wayward, angry teen”, he was drawn to acting after watching Montgomery Clift, James Dean and Marlon Brando playing such roles, and by De Niro in Taxi Driver.
He was also influenced by his father’s two brothers. His sober father won a scholarship to Harvard; his uncles were exuberant denizens of a world of drugs and crime. Sizemore tried for years to produce a script about them, An Honest Thief, written by his lawyer brother Aaron, which nearly got made in 2014, starring Sizemore and Danny Trejo. It fell through; a much different version, Good Thief, eventually appeared, without Sizemore, in 2021.
He studied theatre at Wayne State University, Detroit, taking a master’s at Temple, in Philadelphia. He began in off-Broadway theatre in New York; his friends included James Gandolfini, John McGinley and Edie Falco, with whom he had a relationship.
His first film role was in Lock Up (1989), and among his other three roles that year was a part in Stone’s Born on the Fourth of July. He did Blue Steel (1990) and Point Break (1991) for Kathryn Bigelow, the Wesley Snipes vehicle Passenger 57 (1992), and the Quentin Tarantino-scripted True Romance (1993), directed by Tony Scott, where he turned down the part originally offered him because he did not want to beat up Patricia Arquette on screen, and suggested Gandolfini, in his first Hollywood movie, for the role.
During the filming of Natural Born Killers (1994) he and Juliette Lewis began an affair; for four months they stayed in her mansion, doing drugs and having sex. “Temptation is impossible for me to resist,” he said. “Come on, this is Hollywood … it’s in the job description.”
From there he played Bat Masterson opposite Kevin Costner’s Wyatt Earp (1994) and was excellent in Bigelow’s overlooked Strange Days (1995). He had earned a lead role, which came in Peter Hyams’s The Relic (1997), but another small though telling part in Enemy of The State (1998), along with Private Ryan, seemed to lock him into supporting roles.
In his memoir By Some Miracle I Made it Out of There (2013), Sizemore detailed a long affair with the actor Elizabeth Hurley. In 1996 he married Maeve Quinlan, who had also been in Natural Born Killers; they divorced three years later amid accusations of drug use and physical abuse.
He had leads in three TV movies before Robbery Homicide Division, based on the original Michael Mann script that eventually became Heat. When he was not charged with molestation Sizemore returned to Piggy Banks (retitled Born Killers, to capitalise on his notoriety). Fifteen years later, the child actor, now 26, sued him for $3m, but a Utah court dismissed the lawsuit; Sizemore dismissed the allegations as “misconstrued”. His 2003 conviction in the Fleiss case resulted in seven months in jail after he failed drug tests during his probation.
At the same time he began a relationship with Janelle McIntire. In 2005 the couple had twin boys, named Jaden and Jagger. Yet at that point he made a video film called Triple X Tom, with Jersey Jaxin and three other porn actors, in which he claimed to have slept with Paris Hilton. When the celebrity denied it, he said he had made it up to impress the other actors . He did receive an XRCO award nomination as “Best New Stud”. When McIntire divorced him in 2006, he began an affair with Maxine Entwistle, the former wife of the Who bassist John.
Arrests for drug possession and spousal battery followed. He appeared on two Celebrity Rehab shows in 2010 and reunited with Fleiss on Dr Phil (2013). He ping-ponged between scandals and small parts in as many as 16 films in a year, yet still held recurring parts in series such as Hawaii Five-O and Shooter. He was dropped from Shooter when, after accidentally running over a stunt man, he was convicted in 2017 of two charges of domestic abuse against a girlfriend. He was allowed to finish his probation sentence despite a 2019 arrest for heroin possession. His last big film was playing Liam Neeson’s FBI rival William Sullivan in Felt (2017).
Sizemore wrote in his memoir: “There are so many guys who had good lives, great lives, and blew it … I think there are some guys who think they don’t deserve to have good lives.”
He is survived by his sons.

Kamala Harris’ $8 billion 'shoplifting industry' wrecked California
Tumblr media Tumblr media
All parents ask their children what they want to be when they grow up. Astronaut, firefighter and doctor have long been favorites. But California has now added a dubious new profession to the list: shoplifting entrepreneur.Shoplifting in California has become so rampant that it’s no longer just a petty crime. It’s an $8 billion per year industry where organized “rip crews” strip an entire store, resell the goods, and return to steal again. Even while rates of other crimes have declined, reports of shoplifting have increased through the first half of 2024.  Why has California occupied the top position for retail theft nationwide? This decline of law and order in the state happened on the watch of its former attorney general and our current vice president, Kamala Harris.Harris’ tenure as attorney general from 2011-2017 produced a poisonous cocktail of activist prosecutors, pro-crime initiatives and efforts to undermine police – all of which emboldened a culture of theft. KAMALA HARRIS PLAYED ‘CRITICAL’ ROLE IN CALIFORNIA CRIME LAW NOW ON CHOPPING BLOCKFour years ago, Harris called for defunding the LAPD and encouraged protesters who were physically assaulting police officers. Her political legacy is a deep wound in the public safety of California’s cities – and as vice president, she’s taken these policies national. In 2023, the Golden State experienced what The New Yorker called “Flash Rob Summer” – a free-for-all crime spree that saw mobs pillaging stores like Yves Saint Laurent, Sunglass Hut, Gucci and Nike. Major cities across the country are at the forefront of this crisis, with Los Angeles and San Francisco scoring as the top two shoplifting cities in the country. But for California, this November offers a chance to turn the tide. Though California’s electoral votes will all go to the Democratic candidate, a statewide ballot measure called Proposition 36 offers relief for the crime wave of the last several years. Prop 36 is a strong law-and-order initiative aimed at rolling back Proposition 47, a policy passed in 2014 and overseen by Attorney General Harris that shortsightedly reduced penalties for theft and released thousands of criminals onto the streets. TIM WALZ, KAMALA HARRIS’ NEW RIGHT-HAND MAN, ECHOES LEFT-WING CRIME POLICIESAfter the passage of Prop 47, California descended into unprecedented chaos, not least of which in the retail sector. Prop 36 aims to reverse Harris’ soft-on-crime policy, and thanks to its strengthened penalties for theft, it is endorsed by a broad spectrum of public safety interests. The California District Attorneys Association, the California State Sheriffs’ Association, and even San Francisco Mayor London Breed have all announced their support for the reform. This ballot measure will enhance public safety by increasing sentences for theft, particularly targeting repeat offenders. It ensures that significant property damage and planned, collaborative thefts carry mandatory enhancements of up to three years. By rolling back Prop 47’s leniencies, Prop 36 will help restore order and public safety in community spaces.Mandating serious sentences for shoplifting limits the ability of activist judges and weak prosecutors to promote lawlessness through under-prosecution, but it does not solve the problem in its entirety. CLICK HERE FOR MORE FOX NEWS OPINIONProsecutors who hate law and order should be removed from office, police should be empowered to enforce public safety through more reasonable laws, and agencies should have the resources to hire more law enforcement personnel. Once Californians have a chance to see the positive impacts of Prop 36, these reforms should be next on the agenda.Retail workers are fed up, and all Californians are desperate for a return of basic public safety – because retail theft affects everyone. It drives up prices as retailers try to offset their losses. It puts jobs at risk and threatens the viability of local businesses. Neighborhoods become dangerous places to even run errands. By supporting tougher penalties and better support for law enforcement, we can reclaim our streets and restore safety and prosperity to these communities.Prop 36 is an opportunity to send a clear message to those who exploit California’s present lawlessness: the Golden State will no longer be a safe haven for retail crime. During her political career, Kamala Harris inaugurated a heyday for shoplifters and created a new industry for stolen goods; 2024 is a good year to shut down her legacy of crime, permanently.CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM LINDA MCMAHON

The Murder of Tupac Shakur
Tumblr media
May 25, 2021
Tupac Shakur was one of the most successful American hip hop artists of the 1990′s. He was shot in a drive by shooting in Las Vegas, Nevada on September 7, 1996 at the age of 25.
On September 7, 1996 Tupac attended the Bruce Seldon vs. Mike Tyson boxing match with Marion “Suge” Knight who was the head of Death Row Records, at the MGM Grand.
In May 1996, a man named Orlando “Baby Lane” Anderson, who was a member of the Southside Crips gang attempted to rob a man named Travon “Tray” Lane in a Foot Locker store. Tray Lane was one of Suge Knight’s associates and was a member of the M.O.B. Pirus gang from Compton, California.
When leaving the match, Lane spotted Anderson in the lobby, and he told Tupac. Tupac asked Anderson if he was from the South and punched him in the face, knocking him to the ground. This fight was captured on the MGM Grand’s video surveillance and was broken up by hotel security.
After this, Tupac and Suge Knight wen to Club 662, which Suge Knight owned. Tupac then changed his clothes and left the club with Suge Knight.
Between 11 and 11:05 pm, Tupac and Suge were stopped by police officers on the Las Vegas Boulevard for playing their car stereo too loudly and for not having any license plates. These plates were in the trunk of the car. However, the police let them go with seemingly no charges.
At 11:10 pm they were stopped at a red light at the intersection of East Flamingo Road and Koval Lane in front of the Maxim Hotel. At this time a car which had two women in the front seats pulled up on their left side. Tupac talked to these two women and invited them to go to Club 662.
At 11:15 pm a white, four door late model Cadillac pulled up on the right side of their car. The shooter was seated in the back of the car and rolled down the window and fired shots from a .40 S&W Glock 22. Tupac was shot four times, twice in the chest, once in his arm and once in his thigh. One of the bullets went into Tupac’s right lung. Suge was hit in the head by fragmentation.
There was witnesses to the shooting. Yaki Kadafi was in the car behind Tupac with bodyguards and other members of the Death Row entourage. They all refused to talk to the police.
Suge had injuries and the shooting resulted in their BMW having a flat tire, he drove himself and Tupac a mile down the road to Las Vegas Boulevard and Harmon Avenue. They were pulled over by Bike Patrol, who alerted paramedics. Paramedics and police took Suge and Tupac to the University Medical Center of Southern Nevada.
Tupac said he was dying while being carried into the emergency room. He was placed on life support machines and put in a medically induced coma. Suge Knight was released from the hospital the next day on September 8 but did not speak out about the shooting until September 11.
He told police that he heard something but saw nothing. Officers had no leads and reported they did not receive “a whole lot of cooperation” from Tupac’s entourage.
Tupac died on September 13, 1996 from respiratory failure that led to him being in cardiac arrest after they removed his right lung, the one that had been shot. Doctors were unable to stop the hemorrhaging. Tupac’s mother, Afeni decided to take her son off life support. He was pronounced dead at 4:03 pm.
In 2014 a police officer who claimed to have witnessed Tupac’s last moments said that he refused to say who shot him, and when the police officer asked if he knew the person or people who shot him he responded with “Fuck you” which many say were his last words. However, paramedics, other police officers, and Suge Knight all reported they did not hear Tupac say those words.
There was pretty much no leads to go off of and no one wanted to talk and be a snitch. E.D.I. Mean, a member of Outlawz said he was positive that law enforcement knew what happened and said, “This is America. We found Bin Laden.”
In 2002 Chuck Philips wrote a two part story in the Los Angeles Times called “Who Killed Tupac Shakur?” He reported that the shooting was done by a Compton gang called the Southside Crips in relation to Tupac fighting Anderson in the lobby a few hours before the shooting. Philips believed that Orlando Anderson himself was responsible for shooting Tupac.
Police interviewed Anderson once briefly and nearly two years after the shooting Anderson was killed himself during an unrelated gang shooting. Philips also talked about how The Notorious B.I.G., also known as “Biggie Smalls” could have been responsible as well as several different criminals in New York City.
Philips’ also stated that the Las Vegas police handled the shooting poorly, claiming they disregarded the fight between Tupac and Anderson earlier that night. The police also failed to do a follow up with one of Tupac’s entourage members who told the police he could probably identify one or more of the assailants involved. This member died before police could interview. The police also failed to follow up with a witness who claimed to see a white Cadillac similar to the car in which the shooter was in.
Suge Knight said in 2017 he might of been the target of the shooting, as a staged coup to seize control of Death Row Records. Knight also claimed if he did know who had shot Tupac he would never tell.
In a USA Network documentary called Unsolved which was released in 2018, a man named Duane “Keefe D” Davis who was a Crips gang leader and Anderson’s uncle claimed to have been in the car with the man who shot Tupac on the night of the shooting. He wouldn’t say who the shooter was, saying it was due to “street code.”
In 2016 a M.O.B. Piru and former Death Row bodyguard named James “Mob James” McDonald claimed he saw Anderson and other gang members pull up to Club 662 in a white Cadillac.
Biggie Smalls denied being involved in Tupac’s murder. His family said that on the night of Tupac’s murder, Biggie was recording a song in New York City. Biggie’s manager Wayne Barrow and rapper Lil’ Cease claimed that they were both with Biggie that night in the studio.
Biggie Smalls was killed in a shooting 6 months after Tupac’s death, on March 9, 1997, similarly in a drive by shooting. Biggie’s death has never been solved and no one has ever come forward with information regarding who the assailant was.

STARS & STRIPES + PHASE 2
AGENT 13 (2014, dir. Phoebe Waller-Bridge)
Agent Audrey Carter-Rogers is transferred to the Triskelion in February 2014.  But she’s not the only Agent Carter in D.C., and certainly not the first Agent Carter that S.H.I.E.L.D. has had.  Jodie Comer and Hayley Atwell reprise their roles alongside newcomer Emily VanCamp in this neo-noir Marvel Oneshot, which serves as a backdoor pilot for the hit ABC series Agent Carter and unearths the history of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Peggy Carter’s legacy.
CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER (2014, dir. Joe and Anthony Russo)
After the cataclysmic events in New York with his fellow Avengers, Steve Rogers and his daughter, Audrey Carter-Rogers, move to the nation's capital as Steve continues to adjust to modern times. An attack on a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague throws Rogers into a web of intrigue that places the whole world at risk. Joining forces with the Black Widow and a new ally, the Falcon, Captain America and Lady Liberty struggle to expose an ever-widening conspiracy, but his team soon come up against an unexpected enemy.
HAWKEYE(S) (2014, created by Rob Thomas)
Clint Barton and his protogee, Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld), move to Los Angeles after a series of attacks they suspect may have been at the hands of Enchantress, a young Enhanced that has been on S.H.I.E.L.D.’s radar for almost a decade.  After setting up shop as fake-P.I.s, Barton and Bishop aren’t expecting any other cases—but when a woman named America Chavez (Tashi Rodriguez) asks for their help, that all changes.
THE FALCON: SEASON 1 (2014, created by Barry Jenkins)
After the fall of S.H.I.E.L.D., Sam Wilson moves to New York to assist the Avengers in fighting HYDRA and help Steve Rogers track down the Winter Soldier.  During his time in the city, he inadvertently entangles himself with one of New York’s most powerful mafia families by accidentally pissing off mob princess Annie Esposito (Doja Cat) and falls in love with bakery owner Olivia Perales (Aimee Garcia).  None of this was part of the plan—but that’s just the way things go when you’re a superhero.
AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON (2015, dir. Joss Whedon)
When Tony Stark jump-starts a dormant peacekeeping program, things go terribly awry, forcing him, Thor, the Incredible Hulk, and the rest of the Avengers to reassemble. As the fate of Earth hangs in the balance, the team is put to the ultimate test as they battle Ultron, a technological terror hell-bent on human extinction. Along the way, they encounter two mysterious and powerful newcomers, Pietro and Wanda Maximoff.
QUICKSILVER & THE SCARLET WITCH (2015, created by Dan Harmon)
Wanda and Pietro Maximoff were anarchists just months ago—now, they’re the world’s newest Avengers.  This sitcom follows the Maximoffs as they navigate the road to heroism, their respective romances with medic Mattie Rowland (Normani Kordei) and security guard Oliver Modi (Avan Jogia), and the winding force that tethers the twins to each other.
CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR (2016, dir. Joe and Anthony Russo)
Political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability when the actions of the Avengers lead to collateral damage. The new status quo deeply divides members of the team. Captain America believes superheroes should remain free to defend humanity without government interference. Iron Man sharply disagrees and supports oversight. As the debate escalates into an all-out feud, Black Widow, Hawkeye, and Lady Liberty must pick a side.
