whoops my hand slipped and i wrote more vlamburn porn. its amazing what i can accomplish when i'm procrastinating.
boys will be boys E, 800 words, PWP blame them it's really not my fault
âYou got it?â Tyler asks, trying to keep his voice neutral. Itâs not Jesaâs fault that Vlamis has the best tits heâs ever seen. âI think so. Iâll work on the posts and let you know if I need anything else.â Vlamis shuffles over to give her a one-armed hug, keeping his dick carefully in his hat. The second sheâs out the door, Tyler shoves him onto the couch. He spares three seconds to pick up his hat and place it onto a nearby table when it falls to the floor, only because he knows how much Vlamis loves it and how cranky heâll be if he steps on it or gets anything on it. Then he slides onto Vlamisâs lap.

Rules: Give us the links to your fic with the most hits, second most kudos, third most comments, fourth most bookmarks, fifth most words, and fic with the least words. (tagged by @snickfic, thank you, friend!)
most hits: five theories about victor "my husband" nikiforov (+ one fact)Â [yuri! on ice. 2k words. NR]
this was a silly little story i wrote for @lazulisong's birthday one year, and it is wild how much it blew up. extra shout-out goes to the guy who used to come into the beer store i used to work at who we all called "My Girlfriend," because every time he talked, he would talk about His Girlfriend (until they eloped in vegas and then he became My Wife)
2. second most kudos: Family Dinner [the old guard. 2.5k. T+]
both this and 5 Things were probably written in under an hour, which has taught me nothing valuable about writing the meatier, longer stuff.
3. third most comments: also Family Dinner!
4. fourth most bookmarks: the warmest part of winter [yuri! on ice. 8k words. M]
this fic might be a little too saccharine for me to re-read, but i'm immensely fond of it, because my wife did all the (VERY tender) art for it. it was a fun project for us to work on while we were long distance.
5. fifth most words: we should be stars and perfect tens [rick and morty. 10k. M]
an incredibly cathartic fic for me to write, and the start of writing several fics for RnM that allowed me to heal from childhood trauma. i'm still also incredibly fond of this one.
6. fic with least words: Goncharov (1973)Â [hockey rpf. 1.7k. M]
apparently all i write these days are very silly things, and this is probably the silliest. sidney crosby wants to be bullied so bad!!!

Hi, how are you and yours doing?
This isn't a prompt, but a question for future potential prompts. Ho do you feel about crossovers?
And if you are interested in writing them, what are fandoms you really are or aren't interested in?
hey!
(this is directed to people in general since i figure more will be curious)
okay so this is kinda a tough question because the honest answer is i'm not really interested in writing other fandoms at all.
i do find it interesting to think about malec interacting with other fandoms so people are always free to prompt with the understanding that 1) i may not know much about a different fandom and 2) i may not being interested in writing in that fandom. i think for fandom crossovers it would just be kind of these thoughts. so it's a risk for the prompter if they're okay with me saying no, because i will rather than badly write something i don't like.
also as a note, since i know this off the top of my head and its about fandoms that seem continually popular:
teen wolf (never finished a season, don't care), supernatural (never seen it dont care about it), 911 franchises (mundane, not interested), Good Omens (i dont have the brain power to figure out how they'd work together even though i love it), RNM (i refuse to write in this fandom on the basis of how shitty and entitled parts of that fandom are). harry potter franchise (because i'm not interested in writing in HP verse), LOTR franchise (i like the idea of alec reading the books not going there lol). Hunger Games (fusion or crossover i'm not interested in writing) are all ones i know already i won't crossover with. I don't write RPF either, since sometimes that's considered it's own fandom.
Also if you're going to send in a prompt, i'd rather it not be with a mundane fandom, aka a non-fantasy/supernatural/sci-fi fandom.
And also i'm down to try fusion instead, though again it will depend on if i'm interested in the fandom.
and again, anyone can prompt fandom crossovers but just be okay with being told 'no'. i don't have anything against any of these fandoms or any of the ones i'd say no to, there's nothing wrong with requesting. but i'll say no because i won't personally enjoy it and that's okay. it doesn't hurt me to say no.
hope this makes sense

stay (i missed you)
For a friend who isnât even in the fandom but deals with me begging for prompts anyway. She requested âthey only had one bedâ so hereâs 1k of melodrama and angst. Also, yes, i continue to name characters after my hockey babes.Â
âWhat do you mean thereâs no more rooms?â Jamie can hear Jill, one of the teamâs management, from across the lobby as he and Tyler stand awkwardly, the only members of the team that havenât received room keys.Â
âThere was a glitch in our system, I am so sorry.â The concierge replies, looking increasingly flustered under Jillâs withering stare. âI have one room left that I can give you.â
âGive one of them my room, me and my roommate will stay somewhere else.â Jill tells them, and the concierge shakes her head.Â
âThereâs a medical conference in town, every room in Toronto is booked.â
âJill,â Jamie calls out, dragging Tyler with him until they are standing at the front desk. âWe can share, itâs fine.â
âYouâre the captain, youâre supposed to have your own room.â Jill points out, and Jamie shrugs.
âItâs only two nights, weâll be fine.â
âIf youâre sureâŠâ She trails off, and Tyler looks at Jamie for a moment before shrugging.Â
âItâll be like the good old days.â Tyler replies, referring to the early days of Tylerâs time with the Stars, when he had shared a room with Jamie so the captain could keep an eye on the troublemaking new kid.Â
Minutes later, theyâre stepping into the room, suitcases in hand and exhausted from the flight. Jamie wants to bash his head against the wall when he moves further into the room and finds that thereâs only one bed.Â
âShit.â He grumbles, and rolls his eyes when he hears Tyler chuckle.Â
âWe are literally living out a romcom.â Tyler jokes, but simply moves further into the room and collapses onto the bed face first with his suit still on. âIâm too fucking tired to care.â
Jamieâs suddenly thrown back to the so-called âgood old days,â when he hadnât thought twice about sharing a bed with Tyler, when roadies meant quick handjobs while riding the high of a win or Jamie going to his knees in the shower the morning after as they raced to get off and get dressed before team breakfast. When friends-with-benefits had evolved into spending the night in each otherâs apartments and lazy morning afters with breakfast and cuddling and naps between rounds of video games. When Jamie had fallen in love and, by the time he realized it, it was too late to avoid getting his heart broken. When he had pushed Tyler away because that was easier than waiting for Tyler to do it to him. When he had been forced to watch as Tyler got the picture, his eyes tinged with hurt for months before they slowly got back to something resembling their previous friendship.
Itâs been years, and theyâve both moved on, even if they both happen to be single for the first time in years. Jamie stares at Tyler stretched across the bed and wonders if this is karma finally coming to bite him in the ass for being a coward and running away from his own feelings. He tugs off his jacket and tie and slips into the bathroom to change and brush his teeth. When he returns, Tylerâs suit is in a pile on the side of the bed and heâs burrowed underneath the covers. Jamie slides in carefully, putting as much space between them as he can. He worries about his ability to fall asleep knowing that Tyler is so close, but he must be more tired than he expected because the next thing he knows heâs dead to the world.Â
Jamieâs awoken by his alarm, and scrunches his nose when he feels soft curls brush across his face. He pulls back enough to recognize that heâs wrapped around Tyler, his face pressed into his neck, one arm underneath him and the other wrapped around Tylerâs waist. Itâs so comfortable and familiar and Jamieâs heart hurts because itâs everything he canât have. He pulls away and grabs blindly at his phone until he shuts the alarm off. Tyler follows him as he rolls onto his back, collapsing onto Jamieâs chest with a groan.Â
âWe need to get up.â Jamie tells him, and Tyler presses his face further into Jamieâs shirt.Â
âFew more minutes.â
âTyâŠâ Jamie begins to pull away and Tylerâs arm latches onto his chest, holding him tightly.Â
âStay. Please.â Tylerâs voice is tinged with something like desperation, and Jamie lets his hand thatâs trapped under Tyler reach up, threading his fingers through Tylerâs curls. âLet me pretend for a few more minutes.â
âPretend what?â Jamieâs voice is deeper to his own ears, rough with sleep and emotion.
âYou know what.â
âI donât.â Jamie lies.Â
âGoddamn it, Jamie.â Tyler snaps, but he doesnât move. âLet me pretend that you love me. That you ever loved me the way I do.â
Jamie feels like he canât breathe.
âI promise Iâll go back to normal, but while weâre in this bed I justâŠI need this.â
Jamie doesnât say anything, because no matter what heâll always do his best to give Tyler what he wants. He tightens his arm around Tylerâs shoulders until Tyler turns further into his embrace. He feels more than he hears the shaky exhale from Tyler, but they say nothing else until Tyler pulls away, refusing to look at Jamie as he gathers his toiletries and escapes into the bathroom. Jamie stays in the bed for a moment as panic fills him, fear that heâs just let an opportunity pass. An important moment. Potentially life-changing.Â
He flies from the bed and gives only a cursory knock on the bathroom door before throwing it open. He freezes when he finds Tyler hunched over the sink, his eyes red-rimmed when he looks up at Jamie in surprise.Â
âI do love you.â Jamie confesses before he can stop himself.Â
âJamieâŠâ
âNo, let me finish. Iâm sorry I was a coward all those years ago. I never should have run away from what we had. I was justâŠso in love with you, and convinced you couldnât possibly love me back soâŠI pushed you away before you could break my heart. But I hate that you think I didnât love you, because I did then. I do now.â
Jamie watches as Tyler sniffles before diving toward Jamie, face planting into his chest. Jamie responds instinctively, bringing his arms around Tyler and pulling until heâs flush against Jamie.
It feels like coming home, and Jamie doesnât hesitate in dragging Tyler back to the bed.Â

20 Questions: Writerâs Edition
tagged by the beloved @myrmidryadÂ
this is a LONG one so hereâs a cut to avoid do you love the colour of the sky syndrome
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
101 after a recent purge... no one may know about my Past
2. Whatâs your total AO3 word count?
329004! used to be about 350k but again... purge
3. How many fandoms have you written for and what are they?
on ao3 iâve written for (chronologically) doctor who, skyfall, discworld, les mis, star trek, lord peter wimsey, marvel (various), in the flesh, red vs blue, roosterteeth rpf, check please, hockey rpf, star wars, daredevil, rivers of london, dishonored, emmerdale, dirk gently, holby city, hot fuzz, kj charles, guardian, the covert captain, taskmaster rpf, good omens, ghosts, roswell new mexico, leverage, schittâs creek, the magicians, 9-1-1, it chapter two, the magnus archives, the old guard, the mandalorian, the ritual, the locked tomb
way back on the pit of voles i wrote for twilight, harry potter, hetalia and xmen first class. and on the newsround chatrooms i wrote exclusively harry potter fic about my oc neville and lunaâs daughter
as you can tell i am not prone to staying in one fandom writing wise, i tend to end up with one complete fic and seven abandoned wips concealed deep in my google drive
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
finally see what it means to be living (captain marvel, carol/maria, i really hit the zeitgeist with this one i think i was something like the fifth fic in the ship tag)
do whatever you think (the magnus archives, this series is actually #2-7, then #8 #9 and #11 for me so iâm going to cheat a bit)
standing in a world of my own (daredevil, matt/foggy/karen, another zeitgeist hit! really miss writing for daredevil actually... itâs a perennial fave)
a winding road that stretches towards the truth (iron man, tony/rhodey, i STILL donât know when this got so many kudos. i swear i looked away when it was at 100 and suddenly it ended up here)
where the long shadows grow (star trek aos, kirk prime/spock prime, thank god some people are checking the prime kirkspock tag is all iâm saying!)
5. Whatâs the fic youâve written with the angstiest ending?
i donât really Do angsty endings... possibly a blanket of stars just because i ended it on something of a cliffhanger and then completely zoned out of rnm for long enough that i forgot where i was going with it. there was definitely the intention of fixing things but then i just... did not do that. and now the show is on s3 and iâm over a season behind! life comes at you fast
6. Whatâs the fic youâve written with the happiest ending?
where the long shadows grow, because it reunited kirk prime and spock prime and they DESERVE TO BE HAPPYYYY. iâm a complete sucker for presumed dead/back from the dead stories, actually, so on a similar theme i have two (TWO) daredevil fics which follow the trope, one about ray coming back post-s2 (might never be normal again) and one about foggy and matt reuniting post-endgame (in the corner, taking up space). this is the only time i will ever acknowledge endgame ever again
7. Do you write crossovers? If so, what is the craziest one youâve written?
i do write crossovers! in fact i am often roundly mocked by my friends for the increasingly esoteric nature of my crossovers. way back in secondary i wrote a twilight/labyrinth crossover where angela was sarah and jarethâs daughter because i had a massive crush on a girl who liked both twilight and labyrinth. however, since that has been comprehensively scrubbed from the internet, i think my craziest crossover is probably part three of âtraced upon the skiesâ, already an esoteric crossover of rivers of london and hot fuzz, when i added in a crossover with the horror movie âthe ritualâ just because i wanted rafe spallâs character to be happyÂ
8. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
EXTREMELY rarely and only with extreme embarrassment. i will not be any more specific than that
9. Do you respond to comments, why or why not?
i used to really struggle with doing this, to the point that i had over 300 comments just. lingering in my inbox unanswered. so i decided to give those up and just commit to answering them from then on, which has been working fairly well for about a year and a half now. i love getting comments but i get overwhelmed really easily and struggle with replying in a way which feels meaningful without getting in my head about it!Â
10. Have you ever received hate on a fic?
yes lmao it was for a harry potter fic on ff.net where harry got sorted into hufflepuff instead of gryffindor. it wasnât a very good fic but i think the fact it was clearly written by an 11 year old should have scared off at least some of the less flattering comments.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
i donât... think so? i donât know how iâd find out to be honest, my vanity googling is rarely very effective
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
yes! as bronze may be much beautified (skyfall, mallory/bond) got translated into chinese, i was extremely pleased. i think itâs mandarin but the ao3 page for the translation doesnât say and my mandarin is.................. extremely poor
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
also yes! me and jess little-smartass have written a lot together, although only our star trek/les mis series has been published, moreâs the pity. we spent a lot of les mis fandom time workshopping aus and we were always extremely correct about all of it, imo
14. Whatâs your all time favourite ship to write for?
oh god. i think probably kirk/spock, although thereâs some recency bias to that since i reread space manhattans recently and was reminded of my love for them. i really like writing jon/martin but iâve mostly done that from outsider pov which is a bit different to writing shipfic, i think. joe/nicky from tog was also something i really liked writing but i struggle with plotting longer fic with them
15. Whatâs a WIP that you want to finish but donât think you ever will?
i recently went through my abandoned fic folder so i actually have a few options for this. the obvious choice would be âany of the hockey onesâ but i did delete most of those just for my sanity. more recently i started writing a vaguely smutty pre-the thing mac/fuchs fic for alex @milkdrinker5000 which i really WANT to finish but am struggling with. most obscure answer (even beyond the thing) and most likely to remain unfinished is the insanely in depth post-tog booker/copley fic i had planned out back in about october. i wrote a good 6-7k of that one and then i realised it was going to be, like, difficult, and decided if i was going to put that much work into something it may as well be the novel im meant to be writing
16. What are your writing strengths?
once a friend told me i had an excellent facility for dialogue and ive thought about it every time i write ever since. i love writing dialogue and i think iâm good at knowing what sounds ic and what is right out.Â
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
one of the things i struggled with for a really long time, and honestly still have trouble with, is depicting action in words. once i wrote a hockey fic which featured multiple hockey games and i spent probably four times as much effort editing those to make sense and be interesting that iâve ever done on a talkier scene.
18. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
iâve done it but only when i knew more or less what i was talking about - i did italian at school so i felt confident using it for nicky in something particular and real. i try not to italicise when i drop in words from other languages, which is what i usually do when iâm using a language i havenât studied in depth (for example, joeâs use of arabic in some of my fic), and to only use words which iâve heard used by native speakers in that context. i think if you donât feel confident using another language, generally speaking, you shouldnât do it. and for godâs sake donât use google translate for a full sentence
19. What was the first fandom you wrote for?
harry potter on the newsround chatboards. ariana lovegood-longbottom my sweet child
20. Whatâs your favourite fic youâve written?
this used to be an easy question because hands down the fic i was proudest of on posting it was iâll be seeing you. i spent a year and a half on research and writing! but these days i do cringe a little at my hockey fic, and i think iâm prouder of some of my shorter works. letâs do a curveball and say layer on layer, down on down, which is my favourite of my rnm fics and the one i like most from a narrative voice perspective. getting michael right was stressful and iâm still proud i got it down for a TIME LOOP FIC, my absolute favourite trope
tagging @little-smartass and @leescoresbies just in case they want to try this

20 questions, writerâs edition!
saw this on @gerec page and wanted to try it How many works do you have on AO3?
277 but some are like 1 work with unrelated works in the chapters
Whatâs your total AO3 word count?
2164964 How many fandoms have you written for and what are they? 12
Roswell New Mexico/RNM RPF
X-Men (Alternate Timeline Movies)
Criminal Minds
Westlife (Band)
A1
Blue (Band)
Prodigal Son
9-1-1: Lone Star
Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman
Torchwood
Hawaii Five-0
Da Vinci's Demons What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Secrets Learned, Secrets Kept (Criminal Minds)
On a Beach in Cuba... With You (X-Men (Alternate Timeline Movies))
First Time (Criminal Minds)
Lucky to Have You (Criminal Minds)
Unlucky Seven (Criminal Minds) Do you respond to comments, why or why not?
I try to, I really do but sometimes I get overwhelmed or can't think of the right words and so I think 'I'll come back later' and then time gets away from me then it's been months and I'm too embarrassed
Whatâs the fic youâve written with the angstiest ending?
Blood & a Single Gunshot (X-Men (Alternate Timeline Movies) Whatâs the fic youâve written with the happiest ending?
I honestly don't know about this one... I mean, most of mine are either kinda dark-ish or more hopeful endings, unless the fic itself is mostly fluffy. Maybe I just don't write many *happy* fics...
Maybe if I had to pick... Ummm... This one?
Coming Home To You (Roswell New Mexico) Do you write crossovers? If so what is the craziest one youâve written?
Not really, I've only written two so far. A Westlife/Blue mix and an X-Men/Da Vinci's Demons crossover (which is actually the craziest but also one of my absolute fave fics of mine). I do hope to one day write a Roswell New Mexico/Prodigal Son crossover though
Have you ever received hate on a fic?
Yes! on two X-men fics and one of my RNM fics, guess it just comes with the territory though
Do you write smut? If so what kind?
I try to... and what kind? the bad kind because i'm terrible at it.
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Technically once but a bunch of fics were taken and posted to wattpad or something without our permission, so it wasn't just me.
Have you ever had a fic translated? Yep and the translated work is my second most hits fic on my ao3
A Matter of Trust 俥任ç»äč (X-Men: First Class (2011) Have you ever co-written a fic before?
I tried... Was contacted once years ago by someone who offered to co-write with me and they only contributed one scene which I did use but the other 46k words of the fic were all mine...
Whatâs your all time favorite ship?
I don't think I can pick... Some have the longevity of being in my heart way longer while others were canon and others should've been Endgame... If I have to choose one then I'd probably have to say Jack & Daniel from Stargate SG1 because it's what got me reading fic in the first place.
Whatâs a WIP that you want to finish but donât think you ever will?
Until You're Resting Here With Me (Roswell New Mexico)
I'm really trying but I have zero interest in this fic anymore... I'll never finish Fairy Alex either (When an Alien Loves A Fairy)
What are your writing strengths?
I enjoy writing dialogue/conversations and I think I'm pretty good at that.
What are your writing weaknesses?
Trying to write smut... my attempts are cringe
What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
I've tried it a few times but only by using a translate website so I always feel I'm doing it wrong and don't want to insult readers by misusing the terms/context
' What was the first fandom you wrote for?
Stargate Atlantis but I never actually finished or posted anything.
Whatâs your favorite fic youâve written? I have like 5, okay? Gryffindor Pride (Roswell New Mexico)
Something so Wrong that Feels so Right (Roswell New Mexico)
Maybe Tomorrow (X-Men: First Class /Da Vinci's Demons)
Beautifully Broken (Westlife)
A Light to Guide you Through the Darkest Nights (X-Men (Alternate Timeline Movies)

Fic Writer Interview
NOTE: This will prove interesting since I deleted half my fic on AO3.
Tagged by: @lambourngb - <3
Name(s): Brooke, ALovelyLitwit on AO3, litwitlady on Tumblr (other names on other sites that Iâm never sharing here)
Fandom(s): The ones where Iâve written multiple stories include - US QAF (20 years ago), The Walking Dead, and Roswell New Mexico.Â
Where you post: Tumblr and AO3. I have posted on LJ, FFN, and Mibba in the past.
Most Popular One-Shot (by kudos) This year: To be clear, I am in no way a popular author. RNM has been a strange fandom to enter, especially having entered at the end of S2. So my most popular one-shot (pre-purge and post-purge) is âDay into Nightâ with 167 kudos. It was the first fic I published on AO3 back in May. So everything has been downhill since then! I almost want to count âthis godforsaken messâ because it has 175 kudos which were mostly gained from the first part. (I entirely regret the second chapter, lol). If we are expanding outside of RNM, my most popular one-shot was a Joe x Nicky fic âDeceitâ which has 300 kudos.
Overall: Itâs probably a TWD fic, to be honest. (Again, thereâs the Joe x Nicky one-shot.)
Most Popular Multi-Chapter (by kudos) Overall: Absolutely a TWD fic. Maybe even the RPF fic I wrote a few years ago for a friend and buried on the internet where youâll never find it. My most popular RNM fic got deleted a couple of days ago. It had 302 kudos. I doubt Iâll ever write anything for RNM that gets 300+ kudos ever again. The only reason that one got 300+ kudos is because I wrote it for the prevailing fandom attitude of idolizing Alex while throwing Michael under the bus. That will get you kudos your writing didnât earn every time. My writing on its own struggles to get 200 kudos. After the purge, âCosmic Clownsâ is the most popular RNM fic at 242 kudos. Iâd love for âSend Me Homeâ to beat âClownsâ, but Iâm not holding my breath.Â
This year: See above.
Favorite story youâve written so far: Easy. âSend Me Homeâ. Itâs self-indulgent and has so many of the things I love in it. Michael-centric, an Alex Michael deserves, baseball, Danny and Lena. Iâve never written AU for any other fandom ever. Iâve always hated them - never even read them. But S2 really sent me down a path away from the shitshow that is canon.
Fic you were nervous to post: Every single one. âSend Me Homeâ is a mixture of nerves and excitement because I love it so much and any word against it makes me want to never write again. Smut of any kind is hard. The last chapter of âDate Nightsâ (Alexâs Bed) was scary because I wanted the conversation about Tripp/Nora to be perfect. Plus, it goes against the widely-held fanon opinion that Tripp and Nora are cosmic soulmates. Being an unpopular writer (in terms of kudos, hits) is tough because the mean voice inside your head doesnât even come close to being quieted by feedback from your readers.Â
To be clear, I love the feedback I get! Yâall are so sweet.Â
How do you choose your titles?: Lower case titles are generally song lyrics. Upper case stuff I come up with on my own. Sometimes itâs from a line or very specific idea in the story. Other times itâs just nonsense that feels âcorrectâ somewhere in my gut.
Do you outline?: No. I am a sit down and start writing person. A pantser, through and through. I always have the next 2-3 scenes in my head though. If I outlined everything, I would lose momentum because I would feel like the outline was the story and I was done. The energy would whoosh away from me as soon as the last bullet point was complete. My brain is a WILD place.
Complete: I wrote over 100 pieces of Malex nonsense this year. 50 or so remain on AO3. Most of those were ficlets of less than 1k words.Â
In-Progress: âSend Me Homeâ - hoping to complete during the first months of 2021. âDate Nightsâ - hoping to complete by end of 2020. âWhatever Walked There, Walked Aloneâ or Ghost!fic - hoping to complete maybe????? It might take me until next Halloween though!
Coming soon/not yet started:Â Thanks to a group of sweet enablers with great ideas, the Malex neighbors AU where Michael is a romance author is on my list to work on once I complete âSend Me Homeâ. That idea came to me because all of my ideas are dead and gone. I was worried Iâd never have another story idea, and so I sat down one day to force myself to think of something. Thatâs the idea I came up with. And I really like it!Â
If Iâm being honest, thereâs a part of me that wants to retire from writing fic altogether. RNM has so many extremely talented writers that itâs easy to talk myself into leaving the storytelling to them.
Prompts?: Umm...I deleted all the prompts that were in my inbox. Sorry.Â
Upcoming work youâre most excited about: Finishing âSend Me Homeâ is the writing Iâm most excited about. The neighbors AU sounds great in theory, but I wonât feel real excitement for it until I start writing and know that Iâm capable of telling the story.
Tagging: Anyone and everyone

When did you start writing? What would your dream job be? Do you speak any languages other than English?
Ooh, good questions!
I think I started writing when I was in middle school, but it really picked up when I was in high school and joined a forum for fans of Scandinavian metal bands. I would write all the time and had a ton of very cringe RPF fics going at once that I never ended up finishing lmao. Iâve written on and off since then (mostly off, but RNMâs really got me good)
Hmm, the dream job oneâs tough bc in some ways I think the job I have now (Latin teacher) would be it if I was further along in my career and wasnât basically scrambling to plan lessons day by day and teach effectively during a pandemic. Iâd love to be a professor too so I could teach more sophisticated stuff, but that would also mean that I would have to teach AND publish at the same time, and that would leave less time for fic, so đ€·đŒââïž I guess Iâm happy where I am (or where I will be in a year or two)
I (sort of) do! I mostly read Latin, but Iâve also done some spoken stuff before. Iâd love to learn to speak Italian and German though

Rules: check your stats on ao3 by going to your dashboard and clicking through the stats
amount of works posted: 216 (74 posted this year)
total word count: 791,619 words (wow)
longest fic: wait for the stars to fall (a RNM S2 WiP I have mostly abandoned even though I plan on writing more someday). For a finished fic, itâs recipe for disaster (whatâs in your heart)
shortest fic: A Broken Song at 88 words
fic with the most kudos: with all the sorrow and the joy (911 Lone Star) with 318 kudos
fic with the most bookmarks: with all the sorrow and the joy with 74
fic with the most comment threads: just an echo of what i feel for you (RNM) with 75
total amount of kudos: 9,599 kudos (really? that many? i am AMAZED YOU GUYS)
total amount of bookmarks: 1,040. Again, this is me being shocked, when did that happen?
total amount of comment threads: 1,043
fandoms written for: RNM, Harry Potter, Hanson, 911 Lone Star, American Idol RPF, Arrow, Intelligence, RWRB, The Hobbit, Glee, Star Trek (Alternate Original Series Movies)
fests youâve written for: I donât know how to look for that on Ao3, but Iâve taken part in several Christmas Exchanges and every other Character/Event Week I can get time to write for, both in RNM fandom and 911LS fandom.
pairings written for:Â these are my mains, because Iâve also written for different pairings within the fandoms. Tarlos (911LS), Malex (RNM), Drarry (HP), Ron/Hermione (HP), Olicity (Arrow),, Cookleta (AI RPF), Cookaboo (AI RPF)
favorite fic youâve written this year: I have a special place in my heart for wait for the stars to fall but also for recipe for disaster (whatâs in your heart) and give me the world in the RNM fandom. In 911LS I have several, but I probably will always love love can't always be perfect and here at the end of the road (maybe happiness is worth the chance of a bitter end). Special mention to on another broken avenue for helping me find out that I can write heartwrenching angst. Â
goals for next year: I donât really plan my writing or my goals in writing from one year to the other. I know life can be hectic and it can be changing. But Iâm actually shocked to find out that Iâve posted over 450k worth of words this year. Maybe my goal for next year will be posting even more words, but what Iâm really hoping is for myself to keep getting inspired by little things, because losing inspiration is the worst thing thatâs ever happened to me.

meant to finish a different wip, got close to finishing, then remembered this one and finished it instead. yes, i started a new, different wip yesterday. don't worry about it.

make you feel safe vlamburn, roswell new mexico rpf hurt/comfort, 1500 words set during 3x09 filming
Tyler feels like shit, and heâs pretty sure he looks it too. Luckily, Alex is supposed to be a mess in this scene. He must look worse than he thought, though, because Vlamis wonât stop hovering. âIâm fine, man. Go for a walk or something, youâre stressing me out.â He makes an aggrieved noise but cuts himself off before saying anything. He canât keep it in for long though, leg jiggling while he flips through todayâs script until he bursts out with, âyou donât have to do this. Iâll talk to America and weâll rework it.â
#i can't help it every single thing i learn about these two makes me AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH#vlamburn#rnm rpf#slowly taking over the vlamburn tag on ao3 đ

Some of you might have noticed that I have a new fandom. As often happens, the fandom itself isnât new: Roswell, New Mexico, has aired for two full seasons on the CW, and a lot of the fans jumped on board at or near the beginning. I, on the other hand, sauntered in late, martini in hand, and binged the whole thing on Netflix in a week to get my mind off the fact that my HVAC had died in the middle of a heat wave and nobody could figure out how to fix it. The stubborn appliance is now fixed, and my condo is now a placid 74 degrees Fahrenheit throughout, but in the time it took, I not only watched all of RNM but wrote and posted my first fic in the fandom. It is a classic case of new fandom glow, and all it took was an aggressively mediocre TV show about attractive queer aliens and two weeks of sustained negotiation with the heating-cooling repair company.
Since I have friends in the fandom and they seem happy that Iâve shown up - especially since I brought martinis for everyone - Iâm now on a Discord server where a lot of the RNM fandom stalwarts hang out. (Discord: yet another fandom platform that reminds me that the days of Livejournal were terrible but also makes me feel ancient.) Here I am, two days after joining the server, giddily chatting with my fellow nerds and plugging away at fic #2, when someone starts fretting that everyone is leaving RNM fandom and there will soon be nobody left.Â
In my mind, this fandom is vibrant. My Tumblr dash is full of new gifs, fanart, and stories. The Discord is not overwhelming, but there is plenty of action, most of it on topic. AO3 listings indicate a steady stream of new material. Itâs possible that things have slowed down since the initial boom, but this fandom is still moving at a healthy clip - especially since, as someone else on Discord pointed out, weâre in the middle of a long show hiatus (made longer by the pandemic and by some behind-the-scenes tsuris) after a season that mostly separated the fandomâs consensus OTP.Â
My reaction to this concern is that RNM is the kind of fandom that has legs. At first, that was an inkling, fueled by the desire for more Malex fic to be injected directly into my bloodstream, but the more I thought about it while folding laundry (You know what else got fixed last week? My dryer. I am so happy. Never get old, kids.) the more I saw myself responding to a pattern. The upside to being old - and by old, I mean that the Star Trek fans I used to hang out with on a Yahoo Group dubbed me a Brassy Old Fandom Queen in approximately 2002 - is that you have perspective.Â
At this point, I have written upwards of 200 stories in something like 50 fandoms. (Not all of these stories are on AO3; some of them are buried on Dreamwidth where they belong.) You know what still gets read? Stories in fandoms with a large amount of canon that is readily available on a major streaming platform. I havenât watched a Gilmore Girl since there was a Bush in office, but I still get kudos almost daily on Rory/Paris fics that are older than the characters were in the first season of that show. Sometime around 2011, I wrote Mass Effect femslash because I was modding a fic exchange and took a difficult sign-up for the team, and that thing still gets read all the time. Not only are my own Star Trek: DS9, Teen Wolf, and Firefly fics still being discovered by new readers, but I continue to find new fanworks for all of those fandoms on my Tumblr dash and on AO3, mostly created by people who just now took a deep dive on Netflix and fell in love for the first time. Some of these canons have become dated, and several were not great in the first place, but theyâre easy to become obsessed with and to say fresh things about. Theyâre also easy to maintain interest in. Iâm not really creating new works in any of these fandoms anymore, but I eagerly pick up new fanworks by others when they come my way. One of the best fics Iâve read in the past year is a sparkling Garashir AU that you should read if you have any DS9 feelings at all. Iâve been disillusioned with the central Avengers storyline of the MCU for years now, but Iâll be damned if I ever stop reblogging Stucky gifsets.
You know what doesnât get new fans or fanworks? Short, time-dependent fandoms that everyone consumes at once and then gets tired of quickly. I got a bajillion kudos in the first 48 hours when I wrote my one and only Venom fic, and I donât think anyone has touched that thing since. Itâs a pretty good fic, but nobody cares anymore. A decade ago, everyone was wild for Kradam, but I suspect that if I ask the dewy-eyed college students on my dash what a Kris Allen is, they will blink at me with sweet incomprehension. Last year, when Good Omens was the place to be, I followed a bunch of fandom-specific side blogs, all of which are now either abandoned or so slow theyâre effectively defunct. I have dim memories of lingering on endless LJ photosets of Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson at some point in 2008, but I think we have erased this from our collective memory. In all of these cases, people got all their ideas and excitement out in one explosion of fannish energy, and then they moved on - usually drifting back to the large-canon fandoms theyâd come from.
The flavor of this month is The Old Guard. Everyone is making gifs and writing fluffy backstory for Nicky and Joe. Almost everyone will be bored with this by Halloween. By then, there will be some other movie or RPF ship or live musical extravaganza that we are all either obsessed with or incepted into via fannish osmosis. Fandom needs these large, centralizing events to remind ourselves that we can all feel something in unison. But they donât last.
Thatâs not to say that one kind of fandom source is better than another. Gilmore Girls is not a purer or more admirable source text than Lost Girl simply because you have forgotten that one of these shows exists. Itâs just that some canons are better equipped than others to draw in and retain new fans, while others canât sustain themselves without collective fannish energy to prop them up. And the best way to sustain any fandom is to lure your friends and neighbors into it, whether by talking up the merits of the canon or linking everyone to That One Fic or reblogging pretty gifsets until they give in. If everyoneâs leaving the party, make a fresh batch of martinis. Chances are, a lot of people wanted to keep hanging around anyway, and a bunch of others were lurking by the door, wondering whether it was safe to come in.

4, 5, 19, 23, 43! These asks are so good!
4. Link your three favorite fics right now.
Ooh, okay, I am doing a rec post later this week (probably), but three I am loving/loved:
Missed You by a Few Minutes, a Few Centuries: Joe/Nicky, WIP, but with the most amazing concept of them both being immortal, but âmissingâ the wake up together and now they both donât know the other is immortal
What Time Leaves Behind: Joe/Nicky, a really great look at them returning to their âfirst killâ in a unique way
The Great New Mexico Fake-Off: MICHAEL IS A BAKER and itâs perfect okay. Itâs only been two chapters, but I would die for this fic.
5. What are your fanfic pet peeves? Do they have a huge effect on whether or not you decide to read something?
Thereâs only a couple and weirdly, it feels like most of them are language/accent related. If an accent is written out, I struggle with it, but the other is very specifically me where I canât read something with a changed accent (ie: the character in canon is American and in the fic is British). It knocks me out and I canât really imagine the voice/lines.Â
19. Do you edit your fics after you write them, or do you prefer to just hit post and run (because itâs someone elseâs problem now)?
I will edit, a lot. If Iâm extra uncertain, I get up to two betas to look for different things and then do a final pass myself with a fine-tooth comb to make sure everything I wanted is in there. If itâs a more âcasualâ fic, Iâll give it a quick pass, but everything is edited.Â
23. Whatâs your absolute favorite trope to write?
I have so many, but the usual tropes - mind reading, bodyswitch, mpreg (if itâs RNM), soulmates, amnesia, just give it all to me, I love it.Â
43. Talk about a positive experience with fanfiction or the fanfiction community that you will always remember.
The time that I wrote an RPF and someone in the comments on AO3 basically suggested that I work on it and sell it to a publisher, which I did, and made me a couple hundred bucks? Itâs by no means my best work and I was too busy at the time with work to have given it proper treatment (so the reviews are fairly harsh on it), but itâs still the first time I ever actually published something and that comes down to someone in the fic community and I will forever be grateful.Â

are you still writing malex/rnm fic?
I am not, currently, writing RNM fic. Iâm not ruling it out in the future, but Iâve realized recently that Iâve lost most of my enthusiasm for it for a number of reasons.Â
Plus, between the podcasts, NTC, and my current obsession with hockey and hockey RPF thereâs just honestly not a lot of time in my day for it.Â

Fic writer asks
@theemmaarthur thanks for tagging me :) I did it, hey!
Author Name:
Hi, Iâm evening_spirit on AO3
Fandoms You Write For:
I only ever write for one fandom at a time and at the moment itâs Roswell New Mexico.
In the past I wrote a couple of stories for Arrow, Killjoys, Black Sails and Criminal Minds, some Star Treks.
Used to write a lot for Supernatural in the times when the choice was between Wincest and RPF. Then deleted most of those stories, only left Gen fics.
Surprisingly enough I have 8 stories listed for The Gifted. Wow.
Fandoms that inspired me to write the most stories are, Season One of Agents of Shield, Hawaii Five-0 (donât know how that happened, probably mostly one-shots) and Battlestar Galactica 2003. Loved that show.
Where Do You Post
Almost exclusively on AO3
Most Popular Oneshot
It has to be The Bridge , an Arrow fic, written during mid-first-season-hiatus (2012). Itâs a totally platonic scene between Oliver and Diggle. I still keep getting kudos for it every now and again.
Strangely, Soft an RNM totally awkward fic has quite a lot of kudos, wow. But then, this is an exceptionally generous fandom. :)
Most Popular Multi Chapter Story
Itâs difficult to compare a 16 chapter story to a 7 chapter story. The first one has more kudos and comments, the latter has a better kudos and comments per chapter ratio. Then again, the latter was in the Black Sails fandom that was, as RNM, very generous. :)
For this meme Iâll chose the former, itâs Early Enough, an Agents of Shield AU story that splits mid-season-one. The title is based on Coulsonâs words "You can save everyone, even from themselves, if you get to them early enough" In this story Coulson stays true to this sentiment and saves Grant Ward (a victim of lifelong abuse, in case anyone had any doubts)
Iâm kind of proud of this one.
Favorite Story You Wrote
This is a difficult question and Iâm not sure I can answer it. I like so many of my stories. Each has something special in it, some part of me, be it miserable or happy, creative or self-reflective.
Okay, this one. words like silent raindrops fell . Didnât mention writing for The 100, because this was my worst tv show experience. But this story feels very important to me. Perhaps not my fav, but important.
Story You Were Nervous to Post
All of them? Like, literally, every single one. I think lately I learned how to not get so nervous about posting, so itâs getting better, but I have this mindset, where Iâm terrified of other peopleâs criticism, but at the same time itâs my only source of validation. Well, used to be. I think Iâm slowly learning to self-validate. :) Anyway. It wasnât supposed to be a self psychoanalysis post, so Iâll shut up about it.
How Do You Pick Your Titles
I have two methods â catchy quotes or song lyrics.
Do You Outline
Sometimes. Used to outline more, now I often go with the flow for as long as it takes me. Then I have to outline anyway. :)
How Many of Your Stories Are Complete
Of the stories posted to AO3, 63 out 68 stories are completed. Two are Works in Progress (RNM fics) and three are on permanent hiatus. As in will not be completed, because my muse moved on.
In-Progress
Heart Out in the Cold (Reignite) â is my take on what might happen post Season One finale of Roswell NM (itâs AU, for obvious reasons ;)
Youâre the Storm that I Believe in â is a Roswell NM AU that takes place after the shed incident involving Alex, Michael and Alexâs father Jesse.
Coming Soon
Continuation of those WIPs, hopefully. :)
Do You Accept Prompts
Unfortunately, no. Nowadays Iâm bad enough writing what I set out to write. Sorry...
Upcoming Story Youâre the Most Excited For
Both of those WIPs actually. If I can call that emotion "excitement"...
Tag Five Fanfic Authors to Answer These Questions
Hm. Donât know who of you has already done it. If you did, it would be sweet if you pointed me in direction of your post. Youâre in no way obliged to do so, though, or to take this meme, of course. :) @hithelleth, because no matter if you currently write or not, once a writer â always a writer, right? ;) @soberqueerinthewild, @ultraballantine, @drnathanielheywood, @sophiainspace
Thank you for reading this super long post. :)

Hi! I know you just deleted you RNM fics so feel free to ignore me if this ask bothers you. But uhm, i was wondering if you also wrote RNM RPF that got deleted? Or am imagining things??? Anyway, thanks so much if you do decide to answer this one.
Hi Anon!
I indeed deleted my RNM fics on A03. But I've never written RPF so I guess you were thinking about another author?
I know that @elliebirdthings wrote a few amazing ones.
In any case, if you need a link to all my deleted fics, here it is.
Have a very good day ! đ
