Unintended consequences ugh.

First, we have rngd using lots of CPU at boot. I don't know yet when this started, but moving some tests around means that now tests are failing because the system is slow to respond.

Second, a change to make running tests friendlier for developers combined with a separate refactor, to run an unexpected test, which was able to destructively update the running system because we are shipping a script that should only be used from the factory setup environment, and now half of our test pool is broken.

Mkay, I feel the need to rant about my two favorite games, Pokemon & Splatoon.

So Pokémon is number one, and Splatoon is in second. This is partly due to the fuel for these games being vastly different. By fuel I mean motivation. I’m pretty much in a different mood for each. Let’s go over Splatoon first.

When I want to play Splatoon, I want action, I want to elevate my heart rate slightly, I want a game that’s fast paced and high stakes. Splatoon with a definitive winning team and losing team, and gameplay that can change drastically over the course of 30 seconds, fits this outline precisely. The only problem becomes if I continuously lose. One or two losses in a row is okay. But if my loss rate is like 80% I just have to put the game down, I’d be furious. My anger is an issue, part of my new meds is to help that, but I still need to take action. Luckily, however, in the entirety of my Splatoon records, my win loss rate is about 50 50. So stepping back, choosing gear, these things help make the game fun.

Pokémon will always be my number one, and that’s because it’s nothing like Splatoon, or at least the reason I play it isn’t anything like the reason for it. I play Pokemon to collect, to hunt, to perfect, to excel. I collect all the Pokémon, a living dex, an over 50% complete living shiny dex. I hunt, cute charm glitched games, RNGd games, Spanish language games, early shiny frame games, these endeavors increase shiny rates without breaking rules. I perfect teams to my liking, my collection of battle ready Pokemon is ever expanding! All these factors make me a standout at Pokémon play meetings. Always having shinys to give out, having teams that stand out in not only winning battles, but doing it creativity, these things make me feel like I’m an expert. And to be far if you think I’m not, I’ve passed that Pokémon Professor Test and hosted a league before. (My certification has expired now but still) Those are the things that make me have fun in Pokémon. 

The reasons behind each game are different, but they are both very satisfying.

Fonome follows up his debut release on his own label FONOS, with a second round of tracks centring on psychedelic techno rhythms.

"Another Psychedelic Afternoon" lunges in with minimalistic percussion, acidic bass lines and radio voices. The progression of the track keeps one moving while the fluctuation in the velocity and warmth of the sound keeps the explorative side of the acoustics and rhythm flowing. "Performer" switches the mood into a darker tone with rolling waves of industrial synths creating a contrasting groove between high speed lighter synths and heavier drum and bass rolls before the second part of the track reshapes the track into more minimalistic and aggressive dance floor weapon.

Orbe jumps on the remix tip by reshaping Another Psychedelic Afternoon into a break beat and industrial infused hurricane of a track. The pitch changes and phases of various sounds provide for a perfect flowing rhythm. RNGD takes on Performer by adding further minimalistic tones to the second part of the original track and elongating it with extended rhythm and swing.
