her shoes clatter in the entryway to announce her arrival. it’s odd to see it so empty -- most of their members had gone home for the chuseok holiday, after all -- leaving only naeun and seoyoung at the dorm. not that it was a bad thing, it left them time to spend with each other and as naeun had promised, she would never want to leave any of her members by themselves if she could help it. it was fortunate that naeun’s closest relatives were in seoul, anyways, so it saved on the crazy traffic it would take her to go back to busan and her penchant for unbroken promises. she makes it home by seven, having stopped by one of the rare restaurants that hadn’t closed down for the holiday to pick up some food for her and seoyoung ( a bundle of half and half chicken to go with the side dishes and songpyeon her grandmother had given her before she had left their picnic that afternoon ) .

“seoyoung-ah, are you here?” she tries to fix her shoes the best she can, not wanting their manager to come in and see the mess in the doorway in the morning, before making her way to the kitchen to set down the bags that were achingly weighing her arms down. ( she could already feel the spikes of numbness in her biceps ) she pats her hands clean on the dish towel by the sink before moving about to remove the containers from the bags. “have you eaten yet? i brought food like i promised!”

He sneaks himself out of bed carefully after making sure Jimin is fast asleep. It’s one of those nights where he just can’t get himself to sleep so instead he stands in front of the large living room windows, looking down at the city. Things really hadn’t been going well ever since the new decade kicked off for him and it left him to re-evaluate a lot of his mindset.

Asking himself questions why he even signed, what he was hoping for and why he wouldn’t just go back to his life of being a successful photographer. He had looked for a new challenge, new doors to open but right now he founds his nose heavy bruised as various had been shut right in front of him instead.

Jeongguk thinks of people he could talk to, people that could help him figure out what to do but with basically 90% of his friends involved in that darn situation, he hovers his thumb over one specific contact that stands out to him. It’s way too late and she’s probably sleeping but before he can change his mind, he decides to go ahead and press call, somewhat hoping she’ll pick up.

setting: high school ! au yong and seo are best friends, it is a coming out story ;;

it would be an understatement to say yongsun wasn’t shocked– when seoyoung had shown how much she trusted yongsun when she had come out to her the other day. yongsun hadn’t gotten to properly respond to the female because before she knew it her best friend had already runoff. maybe she was ashamed or embarrassed, maybe even sad that yongsun hadn’t been able to respond right away but she wasn’t disgusted or anything like that.

seoyoung was her best friend– regardless of her sexuality, it didn’t change the fact that she would always have the other’s back.

however yongsun was getting tired of being avoided and ignored by her– sure she was understanding, it was probably scary for the female but they had known each other for years already. seoyoung had seen yongsun go through the lowest moments of her own life– and she had been there for her and supported her. now when seoyoung was struggling on her own she didn’t let yongsun be there for her as well and it made yongsun frustrated.

“seoyoung ah,” she voiced the second class ended and it was time for lunch, “you, me food now.”

it was demanding but she felt like that was what she had to do for seoyoung to stop avoiding her, yongsun walked ahead first and seoyoung followed behind her, her head was lowered. yongsun had thrown a glance at her– was she expecting her to be upset? what was there to be upset about?

when yongsun was certain they were in private she turned around, looking at the female– she was clearly hurting. yongsun didn’t want to be insensitive and disregard anything, seoyoung had been brave and she didn’t know what had made seoyoung come out to her but she felt that maybe, maybe she was the first person that seoyoung had come out to. she felt honored but at the same time hurt because why was she being avoided.

“it’s fine, seoyoung ah,” she started, the other looked confused for a moment, “stop avoiding me now, i am not feeling anything negative towards anything you have told me.”

it was difficult to find the right words to say, “i am sad that you have felt the need to avoid me, like i will shame you or expose you.”

how to express her thoughts to her friend in a way that will make her understand that yongsun accepted her, yongsun gave her a warm smile– her eyes turning into crescents as she wrapped her arms around the other, “you are still you, you are still my best friend– as long as i get to be the maid of honor at your future wedding i don’t care who you marry as long as you are happy.”

she tried to play it off as a joke, “if you don’t marry thats fine too– i’ll be your best friend regardless of who you date.”

she wasn’t certain that she was expressing her feelings properly but the moment she felt the other shake, she held her tighter, “it’s going to be fine,” she nodded as she felt the warmth of seoyoung’s tears soak through the fabric on her shoulder. they stood there for a couple of moments, in silence– yongsun wanted seoyoung to let out the stress and her feelings that she had probably gone through. yongsun knows she would never understand but that wasn’t important, “i might not understand but i will support you.”

a padded envelope arrives at saerom’s door. inside is a small white jewelry pouch containing a pair of “s” stud earrings, and a note from seoyoung.

even though we can’t be together right now, i am always thinking of you. every morning and every night. ah… it’s embarrassing to write things like that. my face is turning red as i write. but it’s true. i hope you’re eating a lot, not overworking yourself, and being kind to yourself. and… thinking of me too?

i guess that’s not a lot to ask for, because you’re my girlfriend. i wrote that with a marker because it makes me happy to write it! and happy to say it. being with you is the best present i could ever wish for.

i hope these earrings are the style you like. one “s” is for you (saerom) and the other is for me (seoyoung). that’s how i think of it, anyway. you could also say they’re both for saerom, because saerom is very special and it’s worth saying twice.

it was yet that time of the year again, christmas. not exactly saerom’s favourite time of the year, if she had to be completely honest. it’s only perk had been the discount confectioneries that would go on sale after the holiday was over. well, that was then. saerom didn’t exactly have a girlfriend in the past that she could fawn over for the holidays. well, in ways, she still didn’t. her girlfriend was luxe’s yena, a national superstar. someday soon, she would be an international superstar and while saerom was counting down the days until her girlfriend could really go global, she was also reluctant to let her go. it had taken her a good year or so to finally sort her feelings out, but at last, she had. jegal seoyoung was lee saerom’s girlfriend.

she wishes she could spend the holidays with seoyoung. and she probably could but she knows that she has schedules with her members that she has to attend. and saerom has stuff she has to do at sphere, so it’s really not possible. but it didn’t mean that the older female wasn’t on her mind ( it didn’t take a holiday for saerom to be thinking of seoyoung at all, though ). one night after a long, monotonous day at sphere; a package finds it’s way to saerom’s apartment. brows furrowed, she reaches for it, discarding her bag and her shoes on her way to the living room. she sits on the edge of the couch, gently tearing into the envelope. a small pouch falls out into her hand, along with an attached note. the straight faced expression saerom was wearing changes, with the corners of her mouth turning upright into a soft smile. seoyoung. 

a small pouch containing a pair of earrings, both being the letter s. and just as the note says, an s for seoyoung, an s for saerom. her cheeks are warm to the touch at the thought of seoyoung writing this for her. it’s so simple, yet it’s enough to fill her with butterflies. it’s on night’s like these ones that she misses seoyoung, that she wishes they had the chance to just be girlfriends and not have to live in secrecy. the world could be oh so hateful. but she’s so grateful for seoyoung. it took her an eternity, but seoyoung was finally her girlfriend. and that too, was enough for her.

now she just had to find seoyoung the perfect gift on her trip to tokyo with saebyeol.

he felt a little silly having to go to her for relationship advice, but he didn’t know anyone else he could talk about this to besides her. after he explains the story, ending it with a laugh before saying “this is my fault, isn’t it?” he expects her to agree because really, it was his fault from the beginning trying to get into this relationship. 

“i think you’re too hard on yourself, yeonjun-ah,” she says on the phonecall. the tone of concern surprises him a little, but he guesses it’s to be expected because he never really saw seoyoung as the mean type. she was always kind to him and he appreciated that. she was right, though. “it’s not your fault for not knowing, but perhaps it is time to call it quits if it’s not working out like you thought it would.” 

though he refused to acknowledge it, he was hard on himself, especially in this situation. when she tells him the truth bomb, he couldn’t help but sigh. “you think so too, huh?” 

“have you talked about this with anyone else?” she asks. 

“no, just you, noona,” he answers. “i feel like if i told anyone else, they’d be a bit harsher on telling me to split the relationship. but i knew you wouldn’t. i guess i thought you could’ve been the person who would say i should still hold on or something.” 

“not if you’re this upset about how it is now,” she answers and he can hear the frown in her voice. “yeonjun, even if there are some happy memories, they are in the past. they’re made to be remembered, not to be repeated. if you’re doing more for the relationship, is it even a good one?” 

he knows she can’t see it, but thee’s a soft sad smile forming on his lips. “you’re right,” he responds. “thank you for helping me through this, noona. i’m sorry if i bothered you if you were busy since it’s awards and end-of-the-year shows season.” 

“don’t apologize,” she reassures him. “i needed the little break anyway and i’m glad i could use it by talking to you. thank you for coming to me to talk about it.”

[26.10.20] HEARTZ 1/3 LIVE NOW : CHOI YENA PRESENTING: IDOL GAMERS #1

At first people only see her face. Headphones in and the set up a lot more professional than for her first vlive, it’s still clear she’s not sitting at home but in a room that looks suspiciously alike to the place she used to live at when still living with her cousin jieun. Not having the space to set up her gaming pc in the dorm, she resulted to keeping it here. Her manager chilling in the background as Yuzu invited them to stay with her and just catch a breather while she streamed this vlive, the girl is more focused on getting everything set up and working. 

“Does everything work,” she asks the chat as soon as some people start posting comments, asking where she is and where the other members are. It’s a common question that Yuzu doesn’t mind being asked. She really should nudge the others more into appearing on vlive as well. 

“The others aren’t here. As you can hopefully see when I do this-,” she moves the settings, having the game screen pop up in full screen instead and herself in a tiny window at the bottom. Bless technology. “-we’re about to hop into a coop farming squad! I don’t got heartz girls for ya but I got other idols. Let’s see if we can make them appear if I do this-” With a snap of her finger she unmutes the others, a grin on her lips as she chirps a quick hello into the microphone.

“Why don’t you guys introduce yourself real quick~,” the ex-streamer chirps, grinning at the reaction in the chat as one after another @rkkaeun , @rkyena and then @jacerk introduce themselves. “Yo, pleople are going nuts in my chat,” yuzu eventually informs the others, laughing as the rest of the gang chuckles along with her.

“Now that we got the introductions out of the way- let me explain why we’ve all gathered here today!” Completely in her element, Yuzu claps her hands together, eyes straight at the camera. “This... is ... well not a series but definitely something reoccurring. Sometimes we may stream from Androma’s Vlive channel or LUXE’s or Convex’ channels or potentially other idol groups’ channels if one of their members joins our little... gamer squad- I guess you could call it that. The principle is simple: we just all like to play games and so we play them together! Since I just finished promoting with Heartz 1/3 and Yena eonni is in the middle of promoting with LUXE and of course ISAC just finished- we could all use a bit of time to unwind and just chill down in a really relaxed and laid back game. So~ we’re going back to our coop farm in stardew valley and went live to invite you to join us and watch how we take care of our lovely samsung farm!”

Eyes crinkled into a happy eye-smile, it’s clear that she’s excited to find these tiny windows in which she can still do a thing she enjoys while also connecting her old and new world with one another. 

With the roles quickly explained and distributed, Yuzu guides them all through the streaming adventure as if she never stopped, the switch from English to Korean making things a little harder for her to land some jokes and figure out what to say and what to not say but in the end she gets a few laughs out of the others and the chat, so she’s content.

It really helps that Jace has been an old friend, who’s dynamics she can rely on and that gives her a sense of comfort to have with her.

It also helps that her friends are frigging hilarious at times. When Kaeun begins cackling suddenly and mentions how she got a trashcan lit as a hat from rumaging around in the trashcans, Yuzu nyooms down to where she was just to show the stream. Needless to say they all double over in laughter as soon as the fishing kaeun comes into view, wearing a very chic trashcan lit. 

She only hopes the viewers will enjoy these vlive streams as much as she enjoys doing them. Not only because of the games but because it was a nice way to show some interaction between the groups as well.

so, perhaps she was craving something sweet. ( while it wasn’t an everyday thing ( no, how could it be when her coffee was already sickly sweet? ) there were days when her sweet tooth was just aching to be sated with sugar ) 

surely, her trainer would throw a fit if he knew mijoo was venturing out of her way for something like this but what he didn’t know wouldn’t hurt him, right? and it wasn’t like her shoot was tomorrow or anything  --  one bite ( or three ) of a delectable sweet wouldn’t do her any harm. and while she didn’t have anything in her aresenol ( she had more salty snacks, if anything ) ; she was sure someone else in the dorm had one ( at least those who didn’t get theirs confiscated by manager kyu ). they all had their own stashes, after all.

if she remembered correctly, they did have a choco pie earlier that month from the makeshift ‘cake’ they constructed for seolhyun for the younger girl’s birthday. mijoo wondered if there was any left, and if anyone would have it -- it would be seoyoung. she did have that shoot last month, anyways, and with it the goodies of the ad. with this in mind, she beelines from her room straight to seoyoung’s ; a hand at the door, pausing to knock before calling out to the other from behind the door. 

“hey, seo -- do you have any of those choco pies left?”       ━━     ﹡ 𝐘𝐄𝐍𝐀 、

He’s worried. Of course he is worried. The coffee is brewing as his doorbell rings and suddenly he’s grateful to be living in a building with a lot of parties. Otherwise Yena could probably never come to his place without the two of them seriously getting her into trouble. Regardless he had to just ask her to come by with how torn up she sounded over the phone.

“Good evening, young lady~,” he attempts to joke as he answers the door and presses the key button on his intercom to let her in. “Tenth floor, last apartment down the corridor to the right. I got coffee ready for you.” He says in a somewhat lower voice to soothe her, hoping it would make her feel a little better.

Once he’s sure she is on her way up, the photographer pours the two of them a mug each and sets them on the table along with sugar and milk. Then he dims the lights and prepares the blankets and pillows on his sofa, getting ready to drown her in comfort blankets if needed be. He gets down just in time to open the door for her and open his arms, ready to give her a good hug.

“Come here, gorgeous.”
