I think the Burial at Sea Elizabeth was really out of character. She wasn't angry as Booker's Elizabeth that in his other universes he was Booker. She wanted to stop the cycle, yes but she just straight out murdered a Booker that didn't do anything to her or be the Prophet. I know the Prophet sent himself to another universe to forget but that one didn't do anything? Just seems like she had a huge chip on her shoulder that wasn't there before.

Yeah that really bugged me. In Infinite Elizabeth actually tells Booker NOT to murder Comstock, if I recall. Now she’s standing there brutally murdering a version of Comstock who actually did a lot LESS bad stuff (he caused Anna’s death and ran away, but he does not seem to have tried to have the Luteces killed or murdered his wife)? I did not like that one bit. Also I feel like forgiveness was a big theme in Infinite that was literally torn to shreds in Burial at Sea just to instead favor the theme of “you get to see the mountaintop but not the valley below” and “the difference between a girl and a woman is blood”.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who thinks that! Thank you for the ask!… if you’ll allow me to rant a tiny bit more:

Speaking of forgiveness as a theme, Burial at Sea, UNlike the other Bioshock Games, had virtually no subtle Biblical references/imagery, which Rapture was full of in the first two games (don’t get me started, I could write a LOT on this topic) and much more obviously Columbia was filled with.

My main problem with Burial at Sea is twofold: 1.) Elizabeth’s OOC attitude, and 2.) The fact that I STILL don’t really understand how Booker’s death at the end of Infinite solved anything, and the addition of two surviving Bookers - the one who Elizabeth killed and the one who’s daughter Anna was beheaded in his arms - does NOT HELP my confusion.
